Let's keep rolling.
No theme for LE XL owners.
>pick Charge Blade
>literally mash buttons
>get insane kill times
This fucking weapon man
Who balanced this
A long ways back, Mother Meow's ship was beset by a t-t-terrible meownster and got ship-purr-wrecked.
I've been n-n-no good with meownsters ever since I heard the s-story.
So you see, it's the meownster's fault I'm a coward. Right? Right, mew? *sniff*
How do you mash and win with CB? Its underwhelming outside of boost mode and even with boost mode your basically wasting it if you do super AEDs, and both entering boost mode and doing normal AED's in boost mode is stuff the average button masher wont figure out.
It really looks like devs wanted to show off legs and avoid face helmets with female versions. Some sets look less impressive, with skirt and cloth over head instead of full-body armour and rocking helmet.
B-But I cant beat HR seltas queen with it, and I want its armor so badly. (doesnt help that its charge move instakills me).
But yeah CB is good in inexperienced hands, and completely devastating when one knows how to use it.
>She will never diddle your doodle
>all these people liking the new slut in town (with ugly glasses, too)
>not staying true and loyal to the one and only Guild Sweetheart
You all disgust me
>Got both rath plates when I wasn't even looking for them
>In 3U just gave up on making laggy equipment because I never got plates, and as soon as I did got a laggy sapphire
The desire sensor's just a joke, r-right?
Several questions from someone with some experience in other Monster Hunters, but not much.
How viable is it to build up multiple weapon types? I'm thinking of doing light gunbow, gunlance, and insect glaive, all depending on what kind of hunt/group I'm going into.
How customizable is the cat partner?
>In 3U, got laggi plates just from casual play
>Accidentally use them to make the duel swords just before i make the armour and realize my mistake
>20 kills later, no plate, no full set, stopped playing
>You can send friend requests without the hassle of codes
>How viable is it to build up multiple weapon types?
very, but not until late rank, else you have to grind 5ever
>How customizable is the cat partner?
eh, moderately. Sans the duo attacks and getting extra carves cats are pretty useless m8
Quite viable, in fact it'd be boring to only play one.
That said, playing ranged weapons in the beginning can be a bit of a pain, you might want to wait until high rank with ranged stuff.
Cat is quite customizable.. clothes, name, fur, clothing and weapons, skills etc.
Quest receptionist was always better, and way more cute
female Zinogre Z hunter will always be best girl if you ask me though
>Head: Ludroth Cap (Gunner Version) (+3 stam; Non-gunner version is +2)
>Chest: Loc Lac (+3 transportr)
>Arms: Gypceros (+3 stam)
>Waist: Kut-Ku (+3 stam)
>Legs: Loc Lac (+5 transportr)
>Jewels: Sprinter Jewel +1, Sprinter Jewel +1 (If you used Ludroth Gunner cap don't need this), Transportr Jewel
This set gives marathon sprinter, and pro transporter, which makes you transport faster, and uses less stamina. You also have a talisman and extra slots for another skill, which I used for health +20 but you can do any third skill or none. The hardest part in making this set is the altaroth parts (2-3 jaws/stomachs) and steel eggs (2 required) which you can get from quest rewards of the gargwa egg quest (caravan 2 star).
When you eat, eat for fish+dairy and steam. This will allow you to have 2 of the 3 skills: Felyne Transporter, Felyne Escape Artist, Felyne Lander. I'm not sure if felyne transporter stacks with your armor transporter skill. However, all 3 are useful for transporting.
Besides a tiny bit of defence and stat changes, what is the difference between blademaster and gunner armors? Can I not use ranged weapons with blademaster armor, and vice versa? Can I mix and match?
is insect glaive/mounting OP? I'd like to know if I should use it or not - or well, if mounting is. I don't really wanna run around with a weapon that'll cheese the game and make G-rank feel like it has no difficulty at all, and I don't want to mount if it's the same way.
It's also important to note that the actual point count on skills are different between Blade and Gunner helmets. If you're wearing the Blade hat on a Gunner with the rest of the same set, you might not get all the skills you're supposed to without charms.
WHO IS THE FUCKING COCKBITE ASSHOLE THAT PUTS BOULDERS INBWETEEN ZONE WHILE IN BUDTING MY ASS GETTING FUCKING EGGS
Why does NoA have to suck so much dick? Is it because their too busy with those dank memes?
it's a useful tool as it lets you mount when you don't have an option to otherwise.
Jump attacks also aren't as affected by sharpness either. I've only had a few cases where my jumping strikes were deflected.
But try not to mount too much online or people will hate you. Try to do so when your teammates need breathing room to sharpen and heal. The cripple stage right after that gives them a big enough window for a big attack.
EGG QUESTS ARE SHIT ENOUGH
THIS IS ACTUALLY ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY
This Goddamn Blue Yian Kut-ku is driving me nuts. I just had to end it via subquest after 20 minutes of this nonsense.
I weakened it, to the point where it would have gone to sleep if it were any other monster, but no. What does Blue Yian Kut-ku do when it's exhausted? It flies around the map and stops in each zone for 20 seconds before leaving again. The one time I finally found it, I didn't bother paintballing because I told myself i'd kill it real fast.
I mounted it, brought it down, got ONE swipe on it with my SnS and Goddamn Deviljho shows up in the Goddamn Wyvern's Nest of all places. Screams. Yian Kut-ku gets up. Flies away. And I didn't see it again after 10 more minutes of searching.
Fuck this weird skinny skeleton bird.
>tfw just tried the Light Bow Gun for the first time.
Fuck this game
and my indesiciveness, I've got too many weapons I enjoy so keeping all of them upgraded to a reasonable standard is hell on Zennys and materials.
Second group of favourites
>Heavy Bow Gun
I also only tried Gunlance this morning and after I got the hang of it, I was in love.
>tfw poking a charging Gypceros just as it comes in range and then neatly side-stepping out of the way and firing my hot, sticky burst neatly into it's anus.
The only problem is getting used to actually shielding for once. I've always played with lots of dodging and rolling so not having that ability when unsheathed is a bit jarring for how I play.
Why didn't you paint ball him?
>topple enemy with mount
>get off two golf swings which lead into a KO
>get off two more golf swings
Would've been even more excellent in a group. As if I needed more ways to topple enemies
>mfw I got one but can't get a single marrow from either raths
ugh those are so terrible
has there been an example of ANY company using memes a) correctly and b) with any semblance of cleverness or humor?
Get 4U and only get 3U sometime afterwards if you feel like it. The general rule of thumb for MH is to always start with the newest game because they're huge timesinks, and starting on an older game instead will just leave you in the dust when you move to the new one.
Use the normal bait and keep fishing until you get small goldenfish. Oh, and is it the one in the Sunken Hollow with Tetsucabra? Because it will take you at least 30 minutes to get enough small goldenfish.
>Having a decent time with this relic IG that has fanastic raw damage but only yellow sharpness
>have to keep dealing with bouncing attacks
>decide to just upgrade a stealth glaive from scratch
>only slightly weaker than my relic
>but that green sharpness means I can kick shit in
How long until I get blue sharpness IG
that fucker tried to interrupt my fishing as well
Yep, that's the one. Alright, thanks. I think I got one Small Goldenfish from my first three net casts so I'll wait it out.
It just bothers me to move on with a quest undone.
>any semblance of cleverness or humor
Here's a list of them all.
There's also a skill in the game called Handicraft that gives you "Sharpness +1" when you get 10 points in it. It increases the sharpness of your weapon up a level so it can make a lot of green sharp weapons blue in the early game. If you see those sharpness bars on the list the bottom one is with Sharpness +1.
There is a couple pieces of armor you can get fairly early in the story mode that can give you this. I believe you need Gore Magal Chest, Gore Magala Waist, Ceanataur Helmet, Ceanataur Gloves, and Tetsucabra Legs (or any other leg with the "Torso Up.") Skill.
Do this and you can say goodbye to bouncing through most of the early game.
How the hell do I kill nersylla in everwood? All it does is swing around the room and run away, hell my dual blades can't even reach the fucker, in sunken hollow I just mounted it a few times to make up for that but there are no mounting points where it hangs out. Doesn't help that it runs away in 10 minutes.
Make bomb casings yourself.
Iron Ore + Sap Plant.
You'll get more than enough of the former. Farm for the latter. As a note while you do that you also get pumpkins for pic related.
>tfw your waifu monster isn't in the game
So fucking disappointed. Can only do shitty trading for the parts
my cat IRL is named "Feline", it's fucking horrible and i didn't name him, but it is what it is :/
i was overly-excited and stoned when i did the character/palico creation and regret some of my choices (especially the voice, oh god i picked a bad one), but i'm too far now to go back
the ironic thing is that the climbing gameplay is perfect for Nargacuga. But nope.
So I see a lot of IG users saying to upgrade speed as much as possible so your bug will go out and come back faster.
However, thanks to sending/recalling the Kinsect being able to be combod from any move, I only send out the Kinsect as part of a melee combo because I find it simpler just to run up to the part I want to harvest, hit it with a combo followed by the Kinsect at the end.
Would it be worth it to ignore Speed at the moment and dump as much into Power as possible so my Kinsect delivers massive damage as part of my combos?
Considering I never have my Kinsect is never out for more than a couple of seconds, it seems like a solid plan to me but I might be overlooking something.
>mfw grabbing every bullet from the blue box pre-mission, even as a non gunner
when i finally start gunning i won't even need to make ammo for a few days
Muh waifu is in.
Maybe you need better taste?
Same shit with Tri where they introduced underwater fighting but removed Plesioth.
Maybe in MH5.
>having tons of fun
>trying to figure out how to make bomb casing
>give up check out wiki
>now sucked into figuring out what weapons are best for me at all points during the game
>3ds just sitting there alone
I wish I could forget the last 35 minutes, except the bomb casing
No idea, haven't reached it yet. Someone else might know.
Noob here. I was doing a quest to kill a bunch of rhino dinos and this big red under its faggot showed up. Tried my best to kill it but eventually just finished the quest. What was that thing and what's the strat?
typically mundane quests will have big monsters bothering you to make it interesting.
Go fishing! about 5 minutes in a Tetsucabra will drop from the ceiling.
Egg delivery quests are a special kind of hell.
This guy is impossible, I quit. Trading in this game tomorrow for a good game.
Ok, thanks for the second opinions.
I'll make a new Glaive from scratch and make it as powerful as possible. God knows I'm fucking drowning in Nectar thanks to expeditions.
I know it was explained earlier, but I tried pressnig the Home button and going to Miiverse to take a picture but it says I can't launch Miiverse at the same times as the currently suspended software, is it because old 3ds?
don't use those nectars. most of them are usually stat+element and you waste points in an element.
use pure power nectars only from Wycoon.
Though I'm curious how useful Dragon element is. Also what color do the kinsect wings become?
So I'm trying to find a guild hall that's doing Gore, but it won't let me search for it specifically. Can you only search for monsters that you have available in your rank, or is there something else I'm missing? And if that's the case, which rank does the Gore quest show up in the guild?
That was my first thought when I triple carted on my first time meeting him
>"he just blows shit up all around him i can't get close
>"he leaves this shit all over the ground i can't get close
>"he does so much damage i can't get close
Then I manned the fuck up and got close and yolo'd on my second attempt, didn't even cart. He died. The trick is to not be such a fucking pussy and I'm not even kidding.
its ok Brachy has a big brother now
Don't be afraid of the shit on the ground, stand in it, smack him like a bitch and turn it into a buff to smack his bitch ass harder.
It isn't a secret club if you suck ass. If you legitimately get upset you can't beat a mildly difficult mid-game encounter than you sure as shit aren't going to last long late game.
It isn't a meme, you just really do have to git gud.
He and my group of friends will always get a large Domino's pizza with jalapeño and bacon topping every weekend we go out drinking or game nights.
>tfw having munchies and eating that pizza
>fight first LR Rathalos
>carve a plate from the tail
>fight a Rathalos and a Zinogre in LR
>carve a plate from Zinogre, get another Zinogre plate in rewards AND two other Rathalos plates
>fight Shagaru Magala
>first carve is a plate
>still can't fucking get a Gypceros Head or a Chilling Beak
This happens with every fanbase
>This is bullshit, i can't beat this boss :( x game sucks
>Why don't you practice and get better.
>FUCKING X FAN BASE DEFENDING THIER SHITTY GAME, THE FAULT ISN'T MINE, IT'S THE FANBASE, GAME, GAME COMPANY
This happened with Unite, Tri, 3U as well, except 4U doesn't seem to have many.
No, you will be able to hunt Gore if you are HR2 but as long as you dont make your Urgent Quest you wont be able to post the quest but you will be able to join the quest if someone else posts it
>Don't be afraid of the shit on the ground, stand in it, smack him like a bitch and turn it into a buff to smack his bitch ass harder.
I know, that's exactly what I did in my second attempt and realized he's the kind of monster that has a weak deadzone. If you strafe too much he'll just get you anyway.
IMPOSSIBLE HE SAYS.
Seriously, how big of a faggot can you be?
I have over 70 of every part, aside from plates and Feelers.
But goddamn, it's like you don't even try.
I'm starting up late. Like a month late into the game because I live in fuckwhere where releases reach our shore a decade later the release date.
There will still be tons of low ranks running around online, right? I'd hate to be the lowest one while climbing the ladder
I have no idea when the new 3ds xl is going to be back on shelves and I'm about to drop $270 for one online. It's the first handheld I wanted since my original DS and I really want to play MH.
Any idea when they're supposed to get more? I just read that it's probably because of the port slowdown here on the west coast
So is the trick of being a good sns player to bring shitloads of barrels, traps and whatever offensive items there are so you too can make the big boom boom burst attack when the monsters are down?
Or just wait until he enrages to mount and then mount him. As a switchaxe user with infinite combo it's basically guaranteed that I break the feelers off before he gets back up.
I played sns before and it feels about the same with a few new moves, but what's this about no more .7x element modifier? Is there somewhere I can read the differences in weapons listed in detail?
I bought digitally day one, and looked around and never received anything. Where would I look/where would it be?
There's some big ass weapon changes screengrab from some anon who went over all of the changes for each weapon to 4u, but I don't have it on me.
If what I suspect is true and the new shipment is stuck on the boats due to the union issue I have no idea how long it might be. Maybe I'll keep it in the box and see if the price rises for some personal profit.
I've been breezing through the early game and having a blast. got my jaggi armor together and a chieftain's great sword. i killed that one ape with the big ears. how long until i start facing tougher monsters that will make my gear feel like toothpicks?
Go into the eshop. I dont remember where exactly but there is a page where you can view the receipts of the games you have purchased in the receipt for MH4U there is a code so you can download the theme.
As a Lance user from waaaaay back.
Everything about it is somewhat hard to use.
It's not a easy to use weapon.
Timing and waiting are the biggest part of using the lance.
but oh boy does it feel great when you really get into it.
It's totally the second one once you get to the point of being gud
Also, Gunlance is for the showy niggas, still awesome however.
Both at the same time.
Or you can just progress and just gather things along the way. You're bound to gather enough shit for upgrades.
What I recommend is staying in the starting armor until you face either Kut Ku or Velocidrome. Once you've done so, go on expeditions and kill them until you get a guild quest for them, which you can repeat for tons of their items online for fast grinding. If you upgrade those armors with armor spheres occasionally, they should last you until the end of the "first" story.
>mfw fighting Kirin for the first time
Stop jumping about you prancing little faggot
Do I go with Mario or Luigi for my kitty teammate?
