Why they didn't release it for Wii U? it's like Crapcom doesn't want my money
>I will not buy it to play in a tiny screen and bad graphics
because they knew they'd get more money for the handheld. Did 3U even sell that well on the wii?
as well as they wanted to use it to sell new 3DS's. It may happen, but not for awhie.
Because they are retarded.
That is the honest answer. Nintendo is fucking braindead in the marketing department this generation. They should be glad they have a near monopoly on handheld.
the wii u version sold poorly and wasn't a good port
>no release date
there never was going to be one. They've straight up said that there is no wii u version of the game. Do you retards even pay attention to the shit you get excited for?
playing on my tiny ass fucking 3ds screen, or playing on my huge as fuck 1080p screen with a controller that has two fucking control sticks?
i don't leave my fucking house anyway, and i wouldn't even be able to concentrate on hunting shit while on a bus or a train since the rides aren't that long to anywhere i'd be going anyway. i know this is just bait but still.
I'd bet it either goes multiplat or nintendo only.
I can't see them flip flopping back onto vita, it's a primarily japanese audience and they love their mobile games. If the Vita was outselling the 3ds sure, but it just plain isn't.
I assume it really comes down to if Sony is willing/able to throw enough money to at Capcom to make up the lost 3DS sales. Realistically I don't expect it to happen with a port. It would be MH5.
If Capcom wasn't so desperate for money currently I'd say it's out of the question pretty much entirely aside from a half-assed port after a while.
Should I be a lazy fuck and buy this on the eshop or should I actually go out and get a physical copy?
I have 3U on the eshop on my WiiU
I don't really know why I'm asking, someone just choose something.
>wasn't a good port
It was objectively the best version of the game for the multiplayer functionality alone, not to mention 1080p and the ability to use an actual controller. I don't know what you're on about.
Personally I don't even care about a small screen and ugly graphics, MH has never been about graphics but god fucking dammit, I do NOT want to play extended sessions using the 3DS controls now that I know the joys of playing Monster Hunter on a Pro Controller.
>Crapcom doesn't want my money
The 3DS is killing the WiiU. Most people would rather have a 3DS port since the WiiU "had no games"(ironically), so it's just not that profitable to make a WiiU port.
For fucks sake, every now and then you see assblasted anons about that new WiiU game not being on 3DS.
I've seen this thrown around a lot, and I guess there IS some input delay, but not nearly enough to ruin the port. I have NEVER EVER died because of the controls, it's always because I fucked up.
I can't imagine that this game would be that expensive to port to the Wii U, since it's running on the same engine as 3U. They've already got most of the work done, it's practically be free money if they did the exact same thing they did with 3U and just make a straight port.
I will blame the controls for all sorts of things because I hate them, but input delay really isn't a problem. It's fucking Monster Hunter. Oh no, there's a five frame delay on my attack that has a thirty frame startup, the horror.
It's a shit port but it's still better than the handheld version.
I don't think the input delay thing is real beyond the five frames of delay of the WiiU hardware.
It's got online, proper(-ish) controls, and I can actually fucking see things.
>MH3U wasn't upscaled
But it was. Sure, they fixed some of the textures here and there, and also the horrible font, but they'll have to completely overhaul the textures for it to not look like shit.
If you compare the maps from 3U and 4U, you'll see that the 4U's ones are more pixelated because they wanted to add more details to the landscapes, while 3U's maps don't really have a lot of variation on them when it comes to colors and shit. Except for maybe Misty Peaks.
The time between the release of 4G in Japan and 4U here is much less than that of 3G in Japan and 3U here. It was about a year after 3G came out in Japan that they release an HD version.
Basically, if we are going to get a Wii U version, it isn't going to be until later this year.
It just seems strange to us since we didn't wait nearly as long for them to localize 4G as we had to wait for 3G.
No, it wasn't upscaled. Learn what these words mean before you use them.
Upscaling would be if the game rendered images at its original shitty resolution and then converted those images to a higher resolution. That's upscaling.
The game rendered higher resolution images. That is not upscaling.
>It just seems strange to us since we didn't wait nearly as long for them to localize 4G as we had to wait for 3G.
MonHun has gotten more popular.
Higher popularity = more incentive to port quickly.
>Higher popularity = more incentive to port quickly.
I think you've got that backwards champ. This is Capcom we're talking about. They know a good chunk of people will purchase it again via HD version if they space the releases out.
Monster Hunter does not revolve around the US or EU. They will wait to release it just like they waited to release 3G on the Wii U there too.
>yfw Monster Hunter 5 for PS4 with voice chat, dual analog sticks and tonfas using Unreal Engine
I feel like they will in the future. If they could do it for 3U, I can't imagine it would be that much of a strain on them to make a WIi U port. I would think they'd want to make their handheld money first.
any engine upgrade would be nice at this point. Using outdated shitty hardware just because they don't want to update the PS2 models is just laughably cheap. Voice chat would indeed be great and if you don't like it you could create a private party and never have to hear anybody.
Reminder that the 3DS is so shitty it can't even support an in-quest keyboard, even though Tri had one on the Wii
Because Capcom wants to push their shitty f2p mmos
>Monster hunter on sony consoles
>using fucking UE out of all engines
Yeah because all the franchise neds is another playstation home console version that sells like shit
Funny because mh3u was the second best selling mh home console game(best one was tri)
>Monster Hunter's combat is supposed to have weight and impact.
For consoles there's
>MHG(both PS2 and Wii)
And then we have for handhelds
>3 Freedom games
>3U and 4U
6 vs 7.
Of course, then there's the like 10 spin-offs with the cats and shit developed by From Software.
2 on the PS2 and 1 on the PS3. All sold very bad, the sony home console fanbase isnt interested in mh games.
It uses CryEngine, which is even worse.
The problem with both UE and CryEngine is that it may look nice but also run like absolute shit.
>release a game on a handheld that has sold upwards of 20 million units
>make shitloads of money
>release a game on a console that has sold upwards of 4 million units
>make no fucking money whatsoever
Gee, I wonder why Capcom didn't release MH4U on Wii U? It's like they hate money or something, those stupid jews!
>Oh no, there's a five frame delay on my attack that has a thirty frame startup, the horror
There are 100 types of weapons, you pick the slow one and are surprised that it's slow? The fuck my nigga? Hahaha
Trophies aren't mandatory in some PS3 games
I'm sure Nintendo just gave money to capcom to make the games exclusively for them.
Nintendo doesn't wants anyone else in the handheld market, same reason why they paid money to SE to make FFIII in the DS instead of the PSP.
I don't mind Nintendo owning MH or being preferred by Square Enix, there's plenty of Vita games I like, but I don't want Nintendo to be a monopoly in the handheld market again.
Lack of competition will drive to stagnation and it was pretty clear during the GBA era, besides a few original games, most of its library consisted of horrible ports, downgrades or snes/nes remakes.
