To make a long story short, I'm going into hospice in about a week. I will be able to take my laptop and I was wondering what games someone NEEDs to play before passing on. Any info would be great!
Sorry to hear that anon. What's the condition?
For games, off the top of my head, Chrono Trigger.
I've been meaning to finish that! Thanks for reminding me, buddy. And does it really matter? We all die, I'll just hopefully be pain free when I do.
I played the stalkers to death, I might have to give CoP/ShoC one more run tho. I think I'll do ratchet and clank for sure also.
Oh fuck me, They are making another one?
Oh fuck no. I'm scared as shit, just like anyone else would be. I've thought at lashing out at people, but why? I don't want to be a bigger piece of shit then what I am already. But this is a video game board, not a hospice board.
Have you played morrowind? I'm trying to gauge how long it would take to completely finish it.
Sadly, I've tried reading. I've lost some function with my thinking and I don't think I could do a full novel/book before I go. If you do have some short stories, I would love to hear about them!
And thanks for the suggestion, I'm looking into it. It's one of the "essential /v/" games, right?
Haha, good one. I can take a joke.
You're right, it's not a hospice board.
Email me, I'd be glad to talk. I'm serious. It's no problem.
I personally haven't played Morrowind, so I can't speak to the length of that.
That is a great idea!
Okay good, that's actually pretty good.
AA reminded of AA2, haha. But I haven't tried mother 3 yet. I should be able to do that.
I'm confused, are you saying I'm a sinner for spending my last moments doing something that I enjoy? Or that I need to be saved?
No controller, but I'm sure I can have someone bring me one. Thanks buddy.
Here is a short story that might appeal to you.
"All that you love will be carried away"
pages 71-87, King when he is at his best
Metal gear solid series, each game is about 12 hours.
>you wont play tpp
>I'm confused, are you saying I'm a sinner for spending my last moments doing something that I enjoy? Or that I need to be saved?
more the latter, but you don't need to be saved. you only need to be saved if you don't want to spend eternity in the lake of fire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7jJb8QueJo
The best reading stuff that deals with death is existentialism, including its offshoots like absurdism etc.
A classic would be "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. Very popular, very deep, and not very hard to read.
If I die before it's released my final words will be "Kept you waiting huh?" as I'm looking at a picture of Kojima
God damn it. I was trying to forget that was even being made. Now I'm even more down trodden.
I've played both and loved both! But thanks for reminding me about cave story for sure.
That is perfect!
Damn, I can barely hear him.
Wait, is this the book about the guy the death camps?
Okay, so Suikoden 2 for sure then?
Classic anti-christian short story on death by Marquis de Sade himself, if this thread's christian pissed you off enough:
OP, we'll all go where you're heading sooner or later, just know that each and everyone one of us on this planet, is going to follow you. You're not going to be alone for long, just the journey. I hope you find peace where you're going, I really do.
I'd say Dragon's Dogma, considering the situation you're facing and the nature/content of the story, but it's console exclusive...
So, uh...Rome Total War. Essential RTS.
There's a reason it's plastered all over 4chan's banners. It's a genuinely unique experience created from the heart. It's also not very demanding. It's very trance-like and serene, even in the creepier bits of the game. It's also an RPGMaker game, so your laptop should handle it with zero trouble.
Look up the Bike Effect if you want to maximize your time.
No way. I don't want to chance of bringing a child into the world fatherless. Besides, why have sex when I have all the opiates I want?
Thanks man, it really means a lot to hear kind words on /v/.
I actually have played that, but I don't remember much of it.
If you're serious, I have given that one a thought. I've been meaning to play it.
don't worry m8 she'll find a father for it.
>mfw you get cucked while ded
Play Metal Gear Revengence, no you don't need to play the ones in the series previously.
Also having meet people that have been in near death and people who have been in medical emergencies (including myself), death isn't really all that bad. Its scary to think about but I'm surprised how many people who have NDEs want to stay where they where, be it mind altering chemicals or just a sense of calm it feels pretty good. I don't know what shape you are in, but maybe try getting some LSD or mushrooms and tripping out.
I'm fucking sorry OP, just remember that all things are transient and death would have happened eventually, you're just getting a free pass off the ride.
If you can and haven't already played it, get a Gamecube emulator and play Chibi-Robo, it's by far the comfiest game I've ever played in my life.
>Damn, I can barely hear him.
we all make our decision. the worst part about damnation is that it's forever.
ask god for wisdom concerning salvation
>If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
This man is facing his death and you speak this way to him? Have some dignity
>mfw you get cucked while ded
Oh man, wouldn't that be the final kick in the balls. Made me laugh.
Vidya is merciful.
That's actually the only metal gear I haven't played. And I've done mushrooms, not lsd though. Did them like 2 years ago on my 20th birthday. That was a blast.
Thanks, I've gotten a few mentions of that so far.
I seriously don't see myself being alive post 40, I actually don't even think I'll make it to 30, I've just got this overbearing fear that I'm going to die very soon, which is making me think that I'm actually just dying right now, it's kinda fucking my shit up.
OP you should definitely do as many psychedelic drugs as you can before you go. or better yet, die tripping, even though your pineal gland gives you a dose of DMT when you die apparently, might as well double up, ensure your transition to the nether realms lol
Damn it OP I didn't want to feel this way and I feel even worse for not having a game for you.
I'd say chrono trigger or final fantasy VI. Most of my favorite games are longer RPG's, so eh I feel bad if you chose to play these since time is important right now. If you think you have time then by all means, they are gems and I will definitely be revisiting them before I die.
I switch between worry and hedonism periodically. On one hand it's paranoid to think you you've reached some arbitrary used by date because Life don't work like that, but at the same time I see too many "Dying pls give game" threads for at least a percentage of them being genuine. That scares me.
Or maybe American Healthcare just sucks.
Remember OP, at least you were never Anthony Burch.
>mfw turning 21
>40hr week wageslave
>chain-smoker, alcoholic, braindead from pot
>recently dumped from 2 year relationship
>paying all my weekly income to lawyers for the next couple of months because I fucked up and got arrested for stupid shit
>literally wake up every day feeling like shit
I'm interested in what you seek from the games OP. Do you want a good, emotionally engaging story? Do you want 'fun' gameplay? Do you want some high-brow shit like Planescape? What are you looking for.
If you really are passing, Godspeed anon.
My favorite game of all time is Medabots: Rokushi version for the GBA. The RPG. You use have Medabots and interchangeable parts and fight via turn based.
OP, I don't know who you are or where you come from. But what I do know is that you're probably lived your life to the fullest and everyone you love will miss you dearly.
Play some Kirby Super Star on the emulator of your choosing. It's the most complete kirby experience if you ever wanted to play the series at all. Also, I swear it has therapeutic qualities.
We'll all be there sometime, anon. I hope you find peace.
And hey, maybe you'll come back as a something cool like a hawk or some shit.
Bioshock 1-2 and Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines
OP I don't want to be faggy, but know this.
I'm going to miss you, and I love you, even though I don't know you and we've never met.
My religious convictions don't run particularly deep, but I do think there's something else far above us in scope and scale, and that's where you're headed.
You're always going to be our bro at the end, and it's been fun sharing this crazy thing we call vidya with you.
Whatever you end up playing, and wherever you end up going, I wish you the best.
I know you're looking for a video game but I recently watched a pretty good movie, its short and I think you would like it. Pic related.
I don't know why OP, but I saw this post and I literally shed a tear. I will miss you. And for a game to play. I offer my favorite game, Fallout New Vegas. Also I want you too see this before you pass on.
Devil May Cry 3 is really fun, I'd definitely recommend playing it at least once. FEAR is also a good game if you're not gonna be bothered by the ghost things.
Hope you have fun with some vidya.
Thank you everyone. I've wrote down all the game names and I'll check them out. Hell, I might even watch some chinese cartoons!
Who was that again?
Sorry, but I'm a virgin and I'll die one.
I love longer games with a nice story, but I want to get more of a "fun" kind of catagory that I can just jump into and out of.
I was actually looking at that a few moments ago!
Thanks man, those words mean a lot to me.
Turning 23 in a few weeks.
I know I'll probably get laughed out of here, but how is the new call of duty?
I refuse to believe op is really dying. Fuck you, OP. It's not funny pretending to be dying. I don't believe you. I just don't.
this and the original are worth a play.
and since it ties together, tactics ogre too.
i would like to say koudelka as well.
I wasn't going to post but... I recognize you brother. My recommendation is donkey kong country 2.
well now I'm depressed. Hotline Miami I guess, it's really short and fun.
do you have multiplayer there? Chivalry would fill that in-n-out fun void. Or you'll just ff your death by raging every time.
Also the walking dead season 1 is good. Kind of fitting.
Check out the ogre battle series if you like the strategic rpg (like fire emblem).
Contra games too. Every single one of them is fucking amazing.
Old castlevania's... metroids...
You can get emulators for all of them.
Anthony Burch is the biggest cuck known to mankind.
You'll be one of them too.
On the Nintendo side, Ocarina and Majoras Mask if you haven't played them as well as Mario 3D World. Play it with your friends who visit you at the Hospice.
Bastion and Transistor also must-play, Mother 3 and Knights of the Old Republic 2 (with restored content mod) are two classics of great writing.
Praying for you, hope God touches your life intended in most well-meaning sense possible
How is transistor?
Okay, cool. I might jump into the single player while I'm still home.
Is walking dead the one that's kind of like a VN?
Holy shit, I remember that. Fun times. Can't say I've heard of Koudelka. I'll check it out.
No way, this has to be fake. No one could be like this.
I don't think I will. I guess I'm pretty lucky to bring outside hardware to this place.
Well OP, It was a fun ride while it lasted.
you've made some good memories during your time here with all of us,and soon, know that even though we might be cynical, rude and downright nasty at times, we feel for our fellow gamers and will miss having you in our ranks, but I guess your turn to drop the controller soon is inevitable.
This thread will be archived, so make it a good one, because everynow and then, we have threads to remember the anons that have left us.
I recommend Castlevania simphony of the night, one of my favorite games of all time
Final Fantasy Tactics
>How is transistor?
It's goddamn excellent. nobody should die before playing this game.
It was my GOTY for 2014, dat OST.
Yeah, TWD is VN-ish. The first season has a handful of more traditional adventure gameplay segments, but it's geared more overall towards presenting a narrative. It does a very good job at that, too. I'd recommend checking out the first season. Skip the second; they lost the two writers who made the first one so great.
"I'll miss you."
The Walking Dead is fantastic, it's not exactly a VN, It's a bit more of a point and click and has some game mechanics in it. The second season is a bit weaker but is still really good.
If you enjoy that then you will enjoy The Wolf Among Us too.
well I played max payne 3 recently and it was pretty fun
other than that Gunpoint was pretty good, really short indie game but with player made maps and all that. Hotline Miami was pretty challenging but easy to get into, if you like star wars Battlefront 2 is still one of my favorite games but then again if you like star wars you probably already played it.
Advanced Warfare is pretty great to be honest, I think there's a free weekend going on right now on steam so you should check it out
TWD and Transistor are fucking phenomenal.
Everything in this anons post is awesome too:
Anon I wish you good luck and I promise you ,everytime I see the picture im posting now,i'll remember you
I hope you find peace, OP. This is just too sad.
I've never even played it, but I watched my brothers play The Neverhood over their shoulders when I was little. It always gave me comfy memories thinking back.
Save a spot on the couch up there for me. I may be a while, but I'll get there eventually. And I'll bring a controller.
If you're into city builders, I'd highly recommend Banished. It's practically the epitome of "comfy." Watching your humble little settlement grow into a bustling town as your people grow up and live their lives is lovely. It's not the most expansive game, but it does what it set out to do quite well.
Metal gear solid GZ
Half life 1
The lengths of these games are a mixed bag, some of them have collectables and ranks and other stuff to do but condemned and fear are quite short.
They're all good fun.
Damn, OP. This thread is making me genuinely said. Hope your passing is peaceful, bro.
As for games, I suggest you play Shadow Of The Colossus, or any Metroid game, though they both might take a while.
Only complete shitbags lie about dying on the internet. From the tone of his posts and the fact he hasn't begged for any games it seems that OP is legit.
I'm not great with words but shit sucks OP, It's unfortunate that you have to go so early. You've inspired me mate and you've reminded me that we're all human, and I thank you for that.
>artistic works of fiction and flasehood
Needs to be plastered at the top of every board. Sorry OP, I'm not buying it. If you want a recommendation thread just ask. To answer your question, Cave Story. It's free and translated. Just make sure you get the good jetpack and find that tow rope.
For novellas (really short novels) heres some must reads. You can finish these in one or two readings.
The old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway. Very relevant to you.
Anthem by Ayn rand
Notes from the underground by fydor dostoyevsky
Banana fish (may not be the title, but its close enough for google)
Siddhartha by Herman Hesse (very very very good)
The first and last i listed are all you need. They will give you great closure.
me too, man... this girl i was close to at the time was going through fucking hell and i wanted to do was help her out of it. Needless to say thirteen made me cry like a bitch
I'll miss you, brother.
The Drakengard series, if not Nier, are must plays. They get batshit crazy/sad. Good if you're a weeb.
The Wonderful 101 makes for some truly
wonderfulexperiences, even if you just play it on easy mode.
Kirby's Epic Yarn is so comfy it's unbelievable.
FTL is a challenging game you might enjoy.
The Professor Layton games are good.
Kirby's Air Ride is excellent if you can run Dolphin.
Illusion of Gaia is an excellent game, it is a spiritual sequel (sort of) to Soulblazer and ActRaiser, both of which are also excellent action RPGs on the SNES.
I only wish that you have more time with us to play vidya and that your passing is easy. May you have plenty of games in your backlog to keep you busy.
you're a cool guy op
see you around
Planescape Torment if you haven't.
Dark messiah of might and magic is an excellent game if you want exciting first person melee combat
Desktop dungeons for an ez pick up and play single player puzzle/rpg game
bloodbowl for !sports
VIII.2 (in the basilica); 1864: Samius to Cornelius: go hang yourself!
Idk how i forgot, but i did.
Animal farm by George Orwell
Of mice and men by John Steinbeck
Look homeward angel by thomas wolfe (not tom wolf the pretentious new age faggot who is terrible). Its 400 pages but quite possibly the best book ever written.
Yes, even better than war and peace, and the brothers Karamazov. Grapes of wrath is imo the best book ever written, but look homeward angel gives it a run for its money.
One flew over the cuckoos nest by ken kesey
Great expectations by charles dickens (quite possibly the greatest author to ever live)
And many others. I can give more recommendations if you tell me what you like. No sci-fi though, thats not real literature
>one day the spooky skeleton inside us will jump out
I'm afraid of that day /v/.
Don't waste your time on Great Expectations. If you want good Dickens read A Tale of Two Cities. Intrigue and excitement through the whole plot. And the iconic ending might be suitable for your situation
not really vidya related but listen to this op
its a feel good song
see you out there anon
Jesus Christ literally every book you listed is on some shitty high school reading list.
Anyway OP, read this really short story, you can seriously read it in 10 minutes or less. I know nothing right now could possibly help, but it might add some comfort.
Please take the time, it's worth it.
I didn't need this. i'm sorry we can't trade places.
You should play the Phoenix Wright games.
Unless you masturbate over free trade rand is a waste of your time.
Thats gonna be perfectly uplifting.
I guess, if you buy into that.
Eh. Politics seems an odd subject for the occasion.
Oh good, more depression.
Never read it, don't know.
I've only Read oliver twist and it was a waste.
Op, if you want some recommendations from an English major fagot whose life is going nowhere:
Stranger in a Strange Land
The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
The Amok Journal (if you can get a copy)
And if I were you, I'd write. Write down what you're thinking, feeling, wanting. Don't spare any details. You're approaching a horizon which all men one day cross; perhaps, from the edge, you can provide the rest of us a map. Or at least one last burning word to be emblazoned on the darkness forevermore.
OP can I add you on skype or steam or have your email or something please? I really want to talk to you. I just want to know. I want to hear your story. I want to hear it all. For some reason I really just want to know about you.
This is really shit and I feel sad even though I don't know you.
I hope you get time to play through KotOR I and II.
You're not a piece of shit man. I've been sitting here for 20 minutes trying to find the right words to say to make you feel better but I can't imagine anything I could say would do that. I've never met you and I don't know where it is we end up going after we pass on, but I hope its a better place.
I'll see you when I get there brother.
I didn't need these feelings tonight, Godspeed OP.
I am trying to thing a book that deals with death, but I can't think of anything appropriate, I feel like shit now, not being able to recommend you something that could give you some hope.
Is this despair I am feeling?
that anon was right about r&c. the ps2 r&c games represent the last time insomniac was a golden dev. theyve made a few good games since, but they were gods during the ps1/ps2 era.
going commando is probably your best bet. the first one is also great but lacks strafe controls until late game which is annoying in a tps
I cant even OP. I cant compute my sadness over someone I don't even know, on 4chan of all places, who is gonna die soon. I wish I could be there to play vidya with you. You're making me feel too hard, and I hate it. my vision is blurring from tears. legit first time i've cried in years. I hope you're happy. \o/
tales of symphonia
The metroid prime trilogy
Megaman 1-8 (you can beat each of them in less than two hours)
Megaman X 1-5 and 8 (7 is hot garbage, 6 is optional)
Megaman battle network 3
Megaman legends 1+2
All the mainline Mario games
Banjo kazooie and banjo tooie
Rayman Origins and Rayman legends (both are seriously so good).
I could keep going on and on but these are my must plays off the top of my head.
>Best American Novel
I've read a lot of "Best American Novels" friendo. And there are many that I haven't read. Besides, it's just another coming of age story about some kid in the boondocks of america. There's a million of those. If you're gonna read a story about that sort of shit, why not read something real? "You Can't Win" is pretty good.
Stranger was a reevaluation of the social mores of the time and a deconstruction of morality, religion and the fear of death. It was a pretty fucking revolutionary work of fiction and is considered to be one of the major influences of the 70's and the hippy movement. It's a pretty fucking important book you uncultured swine.
Moon was pretty damn influential as well, though for other reasons.
And if you're gonna insult Mother Fucking Vonnegut I'm gonna have to tell you to fuck right off. Even in the high brow Ivory tower that guy is considered great.
Plus all these books have elements of death, dealing with loss and accepting the reality of life, so they're pretty fucking relevant.
Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna go back to being unemployed.
> look homeward angel is a coming of age story
>vonnegut is a good author in any sense of the word (lets take the fire bombing of dresden and add aliens!)
> heimlech isnt star trek tier garbage sci fi
You are a fucking stupid nerd.
Go read moby dick, a tale of 2 cities, of ape and essence, infinite jest, and othello.
You arent an english major. You are a 15 year old who read garbage nerd books your dad told you to read
>Is it long?
YOU KNOW IT, BRUVAA
Not saying it does or does not but it is literally impossible to say for sure that it doesn't. I don't believe in God or reincarnation for that matter, but to speak in such absolute as to say that you know something does not exist is to say that you can prove its nonexistence. As I'm certain you can not, you may say that with our best known evidence, reincarnation is highly unlikely and you don't believe in it. Regardless, its a nice story that may give someone else a bit of comfort so don't be a faggit
>Look Homeward, Angel is an elaborate and moving coming-of-age story about Eugene Gant, a restless and energetic character whose passion to experience life takes him from his small, rural hometown in North Carolina to Harvard University and the city of Boston. The novel's pattern is artfully simple -- a small town, a large family, high school and college -- yet the characters are monumental in their graphic individuality and personality.
Straight from the back of the book, friendo. I told you I haven't read it.
Vonnegut used scifi to do social commentary. Or did that go over your head?
>Tale of two cities
We gonna get off the high school reading list any time soon?
>Ape and Essence
Thats sci-fi too you idiot.
first, going apeshit. Trying to make sure that my sisters will make it with house, economy while im passed away.
being more social to friends.
i would probably be that fucktard that tells no one about it.just keep living the bad life im doing now.
although the dream would be visiting friends around the globe that ive met over the net.
That depends on how I was going to die.
If it was something where I could still move around/work, I'd probably try to do as much charity work and stuff like that as I could. Make the world a slightly better place before I leave it.
Then I'd try to say goodbye to all of my family and friends. That would be the hard part.
If it was one of those debilitating slow, painful deaths, I'd probably kill myself before it got too bad. Sort of a middle finger to the disease, I-choose-how-I-die kinda thing. That would be a last resort though.
>The law of conservation of mass, or principle of mass conservation, states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy (both of which have mass), the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as system mass cannot change quantity if it is not added or removed. Hence, the quantity of mass is "conserved" over time. The law implies that mass can neither be created nor destroyed, although it may be rearranged in space, or the entities associated with it may be changed in form, as for example when light or physical work is transformed into particles that contribute the same mass to the system as the light or work had contributed
Fucking hell OP. I was totally fine until I got in this thread.
This might be a bad suggestion because of the length, but you should definitely try Persona 3. Trust me, I will be worth it.
Man fuck you /v/ I'm disappointed you went 200 posts without saying Okami.
OP play Okami.
still can't believe it's been 5 years since he passed. funny how life is sometimes.
>tfw this is the best thread I've read on /v/ in a long time
Best of luck OP.
Man, you just beat me to it.
Pikmin 1 is extremely short and can be emulated fairly easily if you know what you're doing. Pikmin 2 is also great but it's a bit longer.
I recommend these games partially because I'm extremely nostalgic for them, but also because the Pikmin universe is just a wonderful, creative and interesting little world to immerse yourself in. The music is extremely pleasant and all of the creatures have interesting designs. They're all thought out on a biological level, too, which I've always liked in games.
On top of that the gameplay is both easy to understand and complicated enough to be engaging. It's probably the only game I've ever played that I would call an RTS that isn't dog shit to play with a controller.
If you have an emulator then you can indulge im some classics you might have missed out on from the SNES era
3.legend of zelda:a link to the past
4.Donkey Kong Country 1-3
5.Super Mario World
When /v/ was having Katawa Shoujo threads before they elevated themselves to a new level of cancer, some guy mentioned the idea that he would want to watch someone like Rin paint in the afterlife.
That's always stuck in my head for some reason. The idea of being at peace with someone, watching creative thoughts flow onto an endless wall. Sometimes you'd talk and sometimes you wouldn't.
It wouldn't be any more complicated than that. Sitting, watching and experiencing art being made.
Also I'm not OP but it's 4am and I've managed to convince myself that this is my blog again.
It may be dildos, especially on the last level + keyboard controls, but try anyway
Best wishes to you OP
A few of my favorites:
Persona 3 FES (weeb simulator with neat concepts)
Paper Mario (either 64 or TTYD, both are great)
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (great writing and you get to do vampire shit)
Yoshi's Island (max comfy)
Metal Gear Solid (1-4 + Peace Walker. Fun as fuck and cuh-ray-zee conspiracy shit if you like that)
Have fun while you can OP, and go out smiling.
look at it this way: we're all just killing time until we die. some people get really into this dream, and convince themselves it's real, but ultimately we're born pure. we never needed to accomplish anything or work towards anything. none of us has a "goal" or a role to fill. and we'll all become one again. it's like some higher being got lonely/bored and spawned multiple instances of itself so it had someone to play with. life is unfinished though. we're not sure where it's going or why, but we just know to keep pushing forward. what else is there to do?
I recommend you start to pray to God and perhaps try to live your life without video games. Try to see the world a little bit and take a trip out to the mountains and get some air. Really try some meditation and try to apologize to those you've wronged and forgive those who angered you. Try to laugh harder and smile more as well as be a bit more kinder. Do somethings that you can do and then say your goodbyes. We all die someday OP, goodluck.
>Ace Attorney Games
Reading is fun.
I know OP has probably left this thread but in hopes he comes back to read it I must tell him this. You are a valuable person. Being a human you are just as important as any other and keep in mind that these are the moments that makes us who we are. Take this moment and abandon all regret. I don't know if you had a hard or easy life but I do know that it was one you can call your own and one you can do with as you please. Do not give in to fear even life is scary when first introduced to it so the opposite is just that. Take confidence that you were able to be a person that could not and never will be emulated. There are no copies of you and you are no copy of any original. You are you and that's far more valuable than anything on this earth. If I could meet you I would hug you and give you a great time. I'd love to lift your spirits. Don't focus so much on afterlife or it will despress you even more through fear and worry. You be yourself and live on in the memories of your loved ones.
Lastly I respect and love you anon. Not because of what has befell you. Not because of attention on an anonymous board but because you're a valuable human and nothing can change that.
I know where we are and this is expected but for one thread or hell even just one post show some humanity. I promise you shitposting will not go anywhere. It's okay anon just show him/her that you give a damn.
> mfw there are probably thousands of anons that died waiting for HL3 and MGS5
>And if you're gonna insult Mother Fucking Vonnegut I'm gonna have to tell you to fuck right off. Even in the high brow Ivory tower that guy is considered great.
Come on man, if he's dissing Vonnegut he's not even worth the reply.
I almost never post from the pure nonsense in most threads but this is definately an exception. I would reccomend emulating rogue galaxy on ps2, its long, fun and light hearted in its characters. God speed OP
Cave Story. It's not exceptionally long but it's the tightest and most rewarding experience I've ever gotten out of a game.
After getting the first, normal ending find out how to get the best one.
Please play this one before all the other games recommended in this thread. It'll be an amazing adventure, and if you're going to die, a great ending to your life.
Stalker is my GOTYAY. Good taste man. Did you play Baldur's Gate 2 or Planescape Torment ? These are good to just getting immersed in them.
Anyway I hope you won't feel any pain.
why would you suggest such a shitfest to someone who's time is valuable?
you can fuck right off with that shit yo.
Don't listen to him OP Morrowind takes the worst thing about skyrim and plays it to an extreme
all you do is mash your weapon on people and hope the glorious RNG engine graces you with hitting
your opponent which you've been hitting for the last 20 minutes,
and all the NPCs are basically walking encyclopedias with nothing actually important to say.
It's the best way. He won't have to live forever with the knowledge that we'll never get ZE3, like we do. He can just play those two and imagine up an ending for himself. It'll be real to him.
>that feel when you know that tomorrow, /v/ will have entirely forgotten their collective mortality and the briefness and inherent value in life, and will instead go back to shitposting and treating one another like shitty children.
Happy trails, OP. Only the dead may know peace from /v/.
Now, go for a walk, look for the hottest girl you can find, and fuck her 'til the room stinks.
Play some Nier if you think it's up your alley, Godspeed OP, see you in another time.
If it's cancer, it's not always a death sentence.
Also stop smoking you fag.
Not really vidya, but I'd recommend watching Kamen Rider Kuuga if you've got the time. All those games will probably get exhausting.
Take it easy, OP. And see ya around.
I hope that in the end we, us here, all get to go to the same place. It'll be a little like hell and a little like heaven, 'cause I swear the only friends I've ever known in this life had no names.
I really hope we all end up in the same place on the other side.
i dunno why some people would call morrowind bad i think its the best wrpg ever created. and you could get tons of hours from it if you wanted.
also elder scrolls in general are good time wasters in general but they not always well made
>Only one mention of Ghost Trick
OP. Ghost Trick Phantom Detective is short and sweet and I've never seen anyone say anything negative about it unless they're trolling. It's the closest game I can call perfect.
It may be difficult to emulate since you need to use the touchscreen and using the buttons can be a chore, but apart from that it should be great.
On a more serious note you should try the Uncharted series. They're a great mix of gameplay and story and they're not particularly long.
Dark Souls is awesome too. Chivalry Medieval Warfare is great mindless deathmatch fun, especially if you like swords and stuff.
I hope you have safe passing and that you move on with a smile on your face. We're all gonna die anyway.
Out of This World. I grew up with it, and it means a lot to me.
Persona 4 is a super immersive otaku-fantasy, if you're into that I'd recommend it. I've never been so emotionally attached to characters and a setting like in this game. For me its the best roleplaying-experience I've ever had and its carefree tone made me forget all the shit in the world for 70 hours
Though I can understand if the weebness will turn you off, and especially the length, as you have plenty other games to play by now
Persona 3 is similiar, though different in tone. I don't know if the thematic of the game would be supportive or crushing for a person in your situation though.
Battle For Wesnoth
It's freeware, it has an active forum community who contribute content, lots of addons, and active devs. And its not P2W bullshit.
Please die quickly.
I hate people like you shitting up my comfy hospital.
It's always the same, you're about to die at like 3AM and you have get surgery right away.
And it always happens while I'm on duty, literally everytime some real serious shit happens.
I'm cynical, not edgy.
When you're being woken in the middle of the night to do anesthesia for an emergency procedure, which obviously is gonna give the patient a week at best, you're gonna get pissed off if it happens regularly.
My hospital has a palliative care station, which is effectively the same thing.
This just makes me upset at Valve more than anything, at least MGS5 is coming out.
They're just fucking around with Dota 2busytobearealgame and CSGOfuckyourself too much to even model a crowbar.
Do you even know what a hospice is? It's different than a hospital. A hospice is where people go to die. That's it. No attempt at saving them. They just drug them up so they can die comfortably. They don't even do emergency procedures there.
How can you work in medicine without knowing this shit?
I worked in a hospital for 4 years, and it's true that a lot of medical staff really are shitty enough to get angry at patients for dying or suffering medical emergencies at an inconvenient time.
The time I spent working there opened my eyes to how fucking shitty many doctors and nurses really are. They're not heroes. They're often people who simply tolerate patients as best they can so they can cash their gigantic fucking paycheck and then post on facebook about how amazing and unappreciated they are.
If everyone could see the way some doctors and nurses dismiss and mock patients behind their backs, they'd probably think twice about even bothering to go to a hospital for treatment.
I've been sick as hell for two straight years now, and during that time I've seen so many basic mistakes made by medical staff, I've lost all hope of ever being diagnosed or treated properly.
>We don't do that disgusting shit around here.
Are you from Japan?
>A Japanese Worker, Hiroshi Ouchi, after being exposed to 17 Sv of Radiation. He was exposed to so much radiation his Chromosomes were completely destroyed, but was kept alive for 3 months against his will.
Hi, im a doctor, most patients are fucking idiots who dont even have the decency to take a shower before going to a hospital (specially fat ugly women), im sorry the medical services in your town are shit tier. Try a specialist if you can afford one.
>fucking idiots who dont even have the decency to take a shower before going to a hospital
That's a pretty weird thing to complain about, you're not going to a hospital at your best moment in life.
I'm fully aware that most patients are fucking idiots. I worked security and had to deal with all the drunk, disgusting, bedbug-ridden offal that walked through there. I was spit on, bitten, had knives pulled on me, clubbed in the head with an iv pole. I know patients can be awful, and I had to deal with the most awful of them. That was my job. YOU'RE A FUCKING DOCTOR. YOU HAVE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES IN SOCIETY. Of course it's not fucking easy! You knew what you were signing up for. Do your fucking job that you get paid giant sums of money to do, and quit bitching that the fat lady smells bad. Boo-fucking-hoo.
Talkiny mostly about the people that dont get there in ambulance, if its ER its understandable, but after a long night of no sleep the last thing you want to smell is some weird yellow shit coming out of a far woman's vagina. Sry if im giving the weong impression.
Only specialists get paid the huge amounts you're talking about, people have also been violent towards me (and most of the medical staff, but fuck nurses), most doctors that are not specialists live frustrated as fuck (in my experience), and they're the ones who usually dont give a shit about their patients since "the specialist will know what to do"
Do us a favor and email Kojima, telling him how you're dying and provide proofs, like scans of legal documents and such. Ask if you could have the honor of playing MGSV:TPP before you die. Do the same with any other games coming out you're looking forward to as well, see what you can do.
I'll see you in Outer Heaven, soldier... ;-;7
Maybe you should've studied something else then
That's why i didn't study medicine, it wasn't just because i'm too stupid for medical school, but also because i don't want to deal with humans and their yucky smelly anatomy. Gross.
Two years ago I lost a friend to brain cancer. 24 years old.
Now OP is going to pass and he's 23.
It just feels so wrong when I'm allowed to live and others die so young. Fuck
Vidya? Max Payne.
Stay strong friend. The ride is going to end soon. You won.
>Against his will
Thats actually a lie. They released a book about it, which was essentially a text version of a Japanese documentary on the subject. Ouchi was pretty upbeat through a lot of it and only asked to go home once, but thought better of it soon after.
The story really makes it obvious that it wasn't malicious on the doctor's part, if anything it was misguided optimism. They knew the dose was fatal but they kept doing things to keep him alive, including bone marrow transplants. The idea that they were keeping him alive against his will is just creepypasta bullshit.
You chose your line of work. If you don't like it, leave. If you like it, shut the fuck up and do the job you were hired to do.
Patients don't choose to be sick. You chose to be a doctor. People come to you when they're at their worst. Sometimes that might mean that they're (gasp) haven't showered. Someone should be able to seek medical help without judgement.
This is 100% true, i admit im a piece of shit, and inget tired a lot, but i try my best not to be a dick to people, i may laugh about some dumb shit that happened to me at work, but not in front of any patient, i try not to be disrespectful, in medical school we're rold to take care of patients the same way we would like our relatives to be taken care of, some people are idiots but they come with problems and i do my best to help them anyway.
> i try not to be disrespectful, in medical school we're rold to take care of patients the same way we would like our relatives to be taken care of
Exactly. It's normal to feel the need to blow off steam once in a while, but respecting patients is always of the utmost importance- and that's something a lot of doctors forget. And nurses, man. Fuck nurses. I mean, I know some good ones, but generally speaking they are a miserable and stuck-up bunch who are more concerned with gossiping, patting themselves on the back, and sneaking away for 2 hour-long naps than actually helping anyone.
Oh so because you wear a thin veneer of being a decent fucking human being around the patient means it's okay to be a miserable cunt any other time? Fucking no.
No matter how much you lie to yourself and say you're fine and being unhappy doesn't affect the quality of your work, it does. If you don't want to do something, you are going to be much less motivated to do a good job if you're forced to.
One day you're going to fuck up because you hate the way your life turned out and you couldn't be bothered to do the best job you were able to, and heaven help you if someone dies from it.
>all these sad posts.
I'm glad it turns out /v/ actually still has a heart, kitty died of fucking cancer at a very young age with a girlfriend I might add and just because he was a youtuber everyone celebrated his death and acted like a bunch of edgy faggots over it.
Godspeed OP I hope you survive but if you don't
Tell God or whatever deity is on the other side "Hi" for me, and if there isn't one.....well I don't fucking know then.
I wasnt aware im unhappy?, i said im a piece of shit because im an asshole sometimes, but do tell me more, i doubt im one of your fb friends posting like i felt im dr. house for doing shit even med students can do.

As a former nursing assistant, this kind of shit makes me so angry.
Yeah, medicine is stressful and you work long hours and it's gross, but there is nothing more important than compassion when you're dealing with people that are ill, injured, or in pain. I don't think there is a single other field where attitude is more important than medicine.
