Mostly just been emulating Castlevania SOTN on my vita, with FFII here and there. What about you anon?
Dragon Quest VIII. Its fantastic.
>playing psx games on vita
im assuming like the psp, ps3, and ps2 before it the vita just has some kind of psx architecture inside of it and supports the games natively.
Mah guv'. Dragon Quest VII got me hooked on DQ series, and I completed them all, except for IX. DQ5 for PS2 was great too. Might try getting into Zelda series sometime soon.
I'm about 30 hours in and the only issues I've had with it have been three flashback cutscenes that don't display properly, and the occasional audio hiccup.
I'd say it emulates pretty well overall.
I'm definitely going to be playing the other games in the series. Totally loving VIII.
Nothing right now, but finished this recently.
Watching this thread for something new to emulate.
not him,but i dont think u can emulate wii motion plus in dolphin. also i doubt u would even want to if u could. ive been emulating mario galaxy and all the mostion gimmicks make it a pain in the ass to map the controls in a way that doesnt suck balls
Is that game good? I've had it downloaded for like 6 years but still haven't emulated it. Same with Rule of Rose.
For those emulating DQ8 make sure you do skipdraw: 1 to display character shadows.
I've tried playing with a normal controller and it fucking sucks. Using a Wiimote+ with your bluetooth is the best way to play.
I have this game on fast forward all the time.
Thank fuck for Async Audio.
people with enough sense to realize that ss is an irredeemable piece of shit
zelda is the goddess hylia reborn
link is hylia's hero reborn
demise is the ganon stand-in and causes his hatred to be reborn over and over as ganon
fi is the master sword
>playing as a faggot elf
>not playing as the manly pirate
I wanted to be a thief, it doesn't really matter in the game though. One playthrough per character, nigger.
VI is overrated, fair warning though. dont grind until u get summons. like ff8, 6 has a retarded system where ur better of getting as far as u can at the lowest possible level
Got a smartphone this year, I'vee been dicking around with emulators. PPSSPP works surprinsingly well, minus issues I've had with bezier curves (War of The Lions crashes too) often. Testing Half Minute Hero right now.
in final fantasy 6 ur characters dont gain stats per level, other than hp and mp, unles they have a summon equiped. for example if a chacter has titan equiped they will gain strength ever level if they have shiva equiped they will gain intelligince every level . Its a good idea for specing characters whatever way you want but the problem is you dont get summons until a good 8 hours into the game and even then it takes a while to get enough of them for your whole party. and by that point u want ur party to be as low level as possible if u want to min max stat growths for the level cap
Love it, spend like 600hrs years ago with bros playing multi-battles.
PBR removed that and didn't had god-tier music like their predecesors.
Yes, it it.
I emulated Dragon Quest VIII for a bit because I lost my copy of the game and wanted to experience it again.
Emulating it only made me want to play it on a real console.
You served me well.
I want to assume this is just trolling or ironic, but this is /v/ so you're probably serious
Its an old bait, and you bite it pretty hard anon.
Just done playing pic related on MAME
I love it
I missed it
>one playthrough per character
But unlike the other Saga games there isn't much of a difference once the game gets going. Each character to my knowledge doesn't have their own story outside of the start.
Thats also like 400+ hours of playing that game, but whatever floats your boat.
Pirate is still the best
You're not battling Mirror B. manually.
>Tfw listening to this guitar solo
What happened? You didn't had friends to play with?
It's my first playthrough, I don't really know if I'll play it more than once, that's what people told me to do. I actually haven't played games in a while because I get tired pretty easily these days so maybe I'll never know how awesome the pirate is.
>tfw want to play Skyward Sword on emulator badly, but dont have my Wii controller anymore and its way too expensive for a single game
Any way to properly emulate a Wii controller yet?
The fact you're stupid enough to fall for bait this obvious shows the quality of fans for this piece of shit game
Just call it Gale of Darkness guys. The Gamecube games are fucking awful but at least find ways to circumvent stupidity
>The Gamecube games are fucking awful
You're trying way too hard.
can you use wbfs files on the dolphin emulator? that's what my softmodded wii uses and it just seems like it'd be easier and more efficient for me to use those files instead of downloading a bunch of isos
Nah, I tried it.
You cant even start the game without the controller, there is a screen where you need to calibrate the controller or something and you cant get past that using a mouse.
>someone else plays Radiata Stories
That makes me happy.
It's a purposely built art design. The games lead artist sat down with shiggy and both agreed that they wanted a "water colour" type art style.
It worked nicely for the design team too, as turning distant objects into a water colour painting also helped ease load on the processing of things, as you've already said.
It's a great design choice and I love it. Some of the best art design in a Zelda game. It also looks even better if you emulate it.
The first Saga game, and Live a Live I can understand. But once you finish the first 2-3 hours of whichever character you picked story the game throws you into the world and its up to you to figure out what to do and if you want to do the overarching plot.
Its like Skyrim without the hand holding, its a very rare thing to see a JRPG with this much sandbox to it.
You can disable it but I think it disabled bloom or something too which looked weird.
Shittest taste I've ever seen. It looks awful, that image especially. Among all of the 3D Zelda's SS was the most unappealing, even the N64 games are easier to look at.
It is you with the shit taste my friend. The art design is beautiful and it actually looks exactly how they wanted it to.
It looks like crap with an awful depth of field implementation in reality.
>can't see shit in the distance
>textures are all bad
Comfy as shit
Looks better than most games last gen. Hell, if games looked like that last gen, at least on consoles, we'd have had every game running at 60fps.
The day PC gaming and console gaming merged was a bad day indeed.
I take it you seriously don't know the name of this game you faggots?
If you have a 3DS go for it. Otherwise emulate FU for tons of content or P3rd HD for better graphics, improved hitboxes and some new hunts
You could also try Tri to test the underwater fights
I'm emulating Dragon Quest 8, and Megaman 2 right now. DQ8 I beat on PS2, and it was amazing. So I'm gonna play through it again, and maybe try a new build on my characters.
Megaman 2 is pretty nice. Lots of annoying parts, but it gets easier after you play for a while.
>ran great, and played with a regular controller
>controls weren't too bad, even with a controller
>had to stop playing, because a drawing segment showed up
>can't play again, until I get a wireless sensor bar
I wasn't liking the game too much, so I don't think I'll go back to it. I was pretty much pushing myself to the part I was at anyways.
No they don't. I've been playing them both with a 360 controller. Shaking can be bound to a button.
I found a guide to do it somewhere on the web.
Device = XInput/0/Gamepad
Buttons/1 = Button X
Buttons/2 = Button A|Shoulder L
Buttons/- = Back
Buttons/+ = Start
Shake/Y = Shoulder R
Shake/Z = Button Y|Button B
Nunchuk/Buttons/C = Trigger L
Nunchuk/Buttons/Z = Shoulder L
Nunchuk/Stick/Up = Left Y+
Nunchuk/Stick/Down = Left Y-
Nunchuk/Stick/Left = Left X-
Nunchuk/Stick/Right = Left X+
Classic/Buttons/A = Button B
Classic/Buttons/B = Button A
Classic/Buttons/X = Button Y
Classic/Buttons/Y = Button X
Classic/Buttons/ZL = Shoulder L
Classic/Buttons/ZR = Shoulder R
Classic/Buttons/- = Back
Classic/Buttons/+ = Start
Classic/Left Stick/Up = Left Y+
Classic/Left Stick/Down = Left Y-
Classic/Left Stick/Left = Left X-
Classic/Left Stick/Right = Left X+
Classic/Right Stick/Up = Right Y+
Classic/Right Stick/Down = Right Y-
Classic/Right Stick/Left = Right X-
Classic/Right Stick/Right = Right X+
Classic/Triggers/L = Trigger L
Classic/Triggers/R = Trigger R
Classic/Triggers/L-Analog = Trigger L
Classic/Triggers/R-Analog = Trigger R
Classic/D-Pad/Up = Pad N
Classic/D-Pad/Down = Pad S
Classic/D-Pad/Left = Pad W
Classic/D-Pad/Right = Pad E
Rumble/Motor = Motor L|Motor R
Rumble/Motor/Range = 500.000000
D-Pad/Up = Pad N|Left Y+
D-Pad/Down = Pad S|Left Y-|Button B
D-Pad/Left = Pad W|Left X-
D-Pad/Right = Pad E|Left X+
Options/Sideways Wiimote = 1.000000
Add that profile. Or just google it yourself, I remember it not be too hard to find out how to do it.
Well you are a kid.
I know. Like I fucking said, it can be bound to a button. With my profile I hold the right trigger on my Gamecube controller and then jump to do a roll jump in DKCR and if I get hit by a status affecting attack in SPM I hold the same trigger. That's pretty much the only time you ever need to use it in those two games.
You'd prefer to shake your controller every time you want to roll?
metal gear was released on the msx, some archaic computer hardware that konami backed
mgs assumes the player hasn't played them. even if he has it retcons just about everything
donkey kong waggle was shoehorned and poorly implemented and should have been mapped to a button, like twilight princess sword swinging
paper mario's a bit different but the game sucks anyway
>basically emulating software
Are you retarded anon?
So far it's fairly uninteresting. The story is mildly interesting but the gameplay is highly uninteresting.
I don't like the dungeon crawler feel to something that doesn't feel like a real dungeon crawler. This game feels like it should be more like traditional JRPGs.
It feels like a bad mix of genres which is too bad. I like where the story is going but I might have to watch a Let's Play and move on to some of the more modern SMT/Persona games.
If you can play it it´s fine, if not... Then just see the movie on YT or something. Is really not worth it and probably the worst on the main series. Be prepared for a big disapointment.
True, substance/subsistence versions are even better. But maybe he can´t find them.
really starting to wish you could imitate the dpad with a mouse for aiming
at least xbox 360 analogs work but can't seem to swap to left/right over should camera its stuck on one side
Just get a USB sensor bar so you can enjoy the motion games too. It's like $20
Dolphin natively supports real Wiimotes, no config required. All you need is a bluetooth adapter for your PC and the sensor bar.
You need a certain type of bluetooth dongle for the newer Motionplus wiimotes, one that uses the Toshiba Stack software.
I've heard the Sitecom CN 516 has this, but can't personally verify
Which version should I emulate?
snes for orginal translation/ost? GBA?
>mfw can't emulate games from my youth because it reminds me how successful in life my mates from back in the day has become while I'm still here playing the same old games.
Is your sensor bar in the correct place for your settings? Are you standing at the correct distance from your sensorbar? Did you calibrate the remote properly when booting up the game?
The only time your problem happened for me is when I waggled like a faggot.
Thinking about emulating God Hand. I literally just set up my old crt and my ps2 15 min ago to play it but holy shit the ps2 is loud. Also that ringing that crts always had is destroying my soul. And my ps2 controller has shitty sticks.
Skyward Sword works independently from the sensor if I'm not mistaken. That's part of the benefit from motion plus. But personally I never had any issues with the motion controls. But my friend did.
Emulating all the PS1 Spyro games and trying to completely finish them at the minute. The nostalgia is almost too much.
Faggots you can play it with a 360 controller and it works way better than wii mote.
It lets you fucking slash perfectly the ways you want.
On top of not being a wii mote.
FU for the tons of content, P3rd HD for the better graphics, improved hitboxes and new monsters. Tri if you want to test the underwater fights. If you want to play them all, start with FU because going back to the bad hitboxes would be painful
im getting fucking wrecked and I just started and im using the greatsword.
Is this seriously all the GS can do? 3 slow ass attacks and clunky as fuck and slow as fuck going back into no fight mode or whatever its called so I can run?
Pretty sure they fixed that for all vitas and that if you hacked the vita with a particular game it was never an issue to begin with.
The GS is one of the best weapons. Just keep it sheathed, wait for an opening and charge it as much as possible. A safely landed lvl1 charge is always better than a whiffed lvl3, don't combo much, there's a sweetspot when charging and hit with the middle. That's some basic stuff, but with the GS you can stunlock Tigrex and other shit
