There are a lot of celebrities that likes anime, but are there any who likes video games?
If you can't enjoy any of those, then you most likely won't enjoy anime, since those are pretty much the most popular ones that aren't Evangelion or DBZ.
dont get your advice from 4chan just search 'introductory anime' and find it from a decent website
here people will just screech at you to watch their own person fap bait or opsession
>Being this clueless
Start with Fullmetal Alchemist or Death Note. Ignore all these idiots trying to get you into the weirder stuff before you've seen the mainstream appeal ones.
How are Cowboy Bebop and Akira "weirder stuff"? They're arguably the most well-known animes besides the big three and the most generally well-received in the west and generally crib their sensibilities from western influences. If anything, FMA is some weird-ass shit about some magic robots.
JoJo's Bizzare adventure has a lot of western themes, it might be a good fit for you.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Ghost in the Shell
Grave of the Fireflies (or anything else by Studio Ghibli)
Five Centimetres Per Second
The End of Evangelion (after watching the TV series)
if you've watched some american sci fi you'll get those. death note and fma are much more japanese then those.
black lagoon is basically a kung fu movie.
Akira is very well-known (and deservedly so), but the movie version removes so much from the manga that it's near impossible to know what's going on during your first viewing. Still looks incredible though.
Yu Yu Hakusho
The Devil May Cry anime
Kaze No Stigma
Hokuto No Ken
Full Metal Alchemist
Knights of Sidonia
Attack on Titan
Hunter x Hunter
Fairy Tail (before the time skip shit)
Viewtiful Joe (it's not the best, but I enjoyed it)
Naruto is alright
I'm probably leaving out a lot more.
Robin Williams and his daughter.
Ozzy said he likes them and sees them as one of the biggest entertainment forms, he once said that "you know you really made it big when you're immortalized in a video game", but he never understood how to play them.
Stan Lee is similar to Ozzy, he likes them but he doesn't know how to play them. But then again, he likes everything that isn't Batman.
Dave Mustaine is a huge Wolfenstein, Dukle Nukem and DOOM and Marty Friedman is a huge weeab, i think he participated in the Bravely Default OST.
James Hetfield and Roberto Trujillo from Metallica, James was a "segatendo" guy.
The Babymetal girls, or at least the vocalist.
The guys from the band Vader, they even made a song about the Witcher.
Hell, a lot of metal personalities love vidya. If Varg Vikernes wasn't a boring jerk, he'd love stuff like Mount & Blade, or anything that lets you play as a Viking.
The walrus and the nerd from Mythbusters. The Walrus made the original DMC commercial for the US and keeps the proplica of Alastor in his office.
Guillermo del Toro.
Many rappers are into vidya too. Snoop Dogg, Soulja boy, Tyler the Creator (don't come at me if I get their names wrong, I'm not into rap).
William Gibson has always been "fascinated" by video games and their effects on people. He doesn't really play them, but he likes them.
Well, I started with Dragon Ball and Pokemon, but that's standard as hell. Didn't even know what anime meant back then. And the only ones I've watched fully and enjoyed since then are Berserk, Fist of the North Star, Darker than Black (Season 1) and Full Metal Alchemist.

Three years ago I thought all anime was for fags. My friend all but forced me to watch his box set of Death Note, now I'm drowning in animu.
