Why don't western devs make impressive enemies like this?
Western AAA devs pander to the largest market, and as long as less innovative games with less innovative monsters keep on sellin' they're going to keep on making them.
I'm less learned on the Eastern cultures, but from what I can tell a lot of popular shit is so wildly different that they crave variety, so it spills over into the stuff they develop.
It's less of a problem with the devs and more with who they're marketing to. I mean, indie games would have this kind of shit if they had the team/money/wares to make it, but they don't. Some of them do, but not all of 'em. You feel me?
Anything said in black and white on /v/ really means the near equivalent in gray. "X console has no games"= "X console doesnt have enough good games." "western devs don't make shit like this" = "western devs don't make enough shit like this"

But that's wrong.
Because jap devs get a free pass with everything.
People that enjoy those games are more inclined to accept strange or surreal stuff meanwhile most of the western audience can hardly suspend their disbelief or accept things that don't have a strict logic.

WHAT ABOUT PAINKILLER BIG ZOMBIE BOSS FROM STAGE 1?
WHAT ABOUT THE CIBERDEMON FROM DOOM 1 AND 2 ??
And so on... there is actually, a good amount os huge and impressive bosses, in western games, you just gotta look for them. You are probably underaged or early 20 to not know about them.
