Dark Souls 1 edition. My favorites in no particular order.
I like the BSS because I like pokes but I hate rapiers.
It fills that weird niche by having longsword properties and moves with a good poke and decent scaling.
Nothing in DS2 really scratched that itch for me, the Sun Sword had the moveset but was lame as hell.
The BSS like >>285042808 , not having it in DS2 kill me, the BSS moveset is perfect.
But you can't slam dexfaggots to the ground with that thing.
This is the real UGS.
You can totally slam people to the ground with the Greatsword.
Zwei is cool, but it's slower and gayer than the sword that's practically the Golden Age version of Guts' weapon.
Demon axe. I have every variation. Tried to run with the stone axe but it wasn't as good. Demon axe smashes the ever loving fuck out of anyones defense. Seeing someone in giants and that slowly walking towards you while playfully smashing your shield away was brilliant fun.
watch out for my dead angles gaymer bois ;^)
I know it has major flaws. Fuck DaSII for changing the move set.
GS has stopping power and isn't all that fast, point is - you're butthurt that I'm using a faster version of your Zweihander which I cannot honestly understand.
If you ask me, the more strength you have the faster the weapon should get. That's how you get closer to my husbando Gattsu.
Maybe so. I suppose i was already so disappointed with DaSII that changing the move set of my favorite weapon was the final nail in the coffin for me.
I plan on returning to DaSII in time and do my best to not compare everything to the original, so maybe I'll have a change of heart.
I feel like I need to do the same. I put twenty hours into it and I just uninstalled disappointed with Dark Souls 2. To put that into comparison I have 500 hours of Dark Souls 1 on PC alone and at least that with Demon Souls.
Also while we're at it, whips are the fucking shit too. Chain, leather, flame, any kind of whip is fucking awesome. Thank you based Vampire Killer.
Look at this faggot. Also, just because someone's favorites weapons in a game are swords doesn't mean they don't like other weapons.
Mmm baby. Love rocking this thing with Kurt's armor
Black knight halberd
Black knight sword, claymore, abyss greatsword, or uncursed greatsword of Artorias depending on progression/location for str
Balder swag sword iatio (i like it's r2 better than uchigtana) and chaos blade for dex.
Silver knight spear or straight sword if i wanna do something different.
>his sword doesn't even have a motorcycle handle and fuel injection system
Great reach, decent speed, high damage, bleed, big, sweeping R2 for open areas, R1 that attacks straight in front of you for enclosed areas, what more could you possibly need?
Only downside is it looks kind of edgelordy.
Sorry, I don't keep up with faggy e-celebs
also pic related
doesnt matter what game
though "greatsword" has a better moveset
Dark Souls would be much better if weapons didn't have upgrades and the game was balanced around it.
You have to buy a fucking engagement ring for any weapon you want to use because it's so damn expensive and time consuming to upgrade them.
Embrace the edgelord. I invade with this, the dark set, and the blood shield. 500 bleed = half their health fucking gone in a flurry of hits.
>tfw bleed is totally useless in DaS2
>all those shitty weapons
Git gud taste you fucking scrubs
I say it would be much better if they upgraded weapons in a way that:
Upgrades effect the visuals of the weapon in its current state
The type of damage it can do
And the weight
Instead of just the damage and type of damage.
>usually gravitate towards big satisfying weapons
>find the halberd in dark souls
>equip it like i always do just to test it
>kill some mobs
>always want to eventually move onto a later game weapon, like one of the clubs or a boss weapon
>just get more halberds
>every kind of halberd
>start dark souls 2
>decide, fuck it im not using the halberd
>IM GOING TO USE A NEW WEAPON, DAMN IT
>end up using the halberd
>mfw they removed the stab R2 in Dark Souls 2
FUCKING WHY B-TEAM?
I CANNOT FORGIVE THIS SHIT
I even forgot the picture
I fucking hate this
Then we end up missing out on a lot of other potentially fun weapons and when we DO get the will to try them some fucking how the weapon we love is back in our hands killing the same shit we've killed a thousand times.
Every playthrough of demons souls I always rushed to grab the bramd. I never got to try out the blueblood or the regalia or the blind or any cool ass weapon they had back then.
SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS
i was dead-set on going part-faith to finally use some miracles and a faith weapon
inexplicably two respecs later im back with the halberd and a slightly more optimized build
i even tried to use those halberds the elephant guys use but respec'd back to the normal halberd
Just different ways to upgrade them friend with their own benefits and weaknesses. They usually let you know what they'll do to your weapon when you get the chance to upgrade them. You'll need to find the proper ember
and blacksmithto upgrade certain paths though.
>Guys, what if we took a rocket launcher, and instead of single-shot, it had... get this... two rockets.
Love at first sight
>Tried to get into DaSII
>Beat it once
>Was really dissapointed
>People say it isn't as bad as I remember
>Play through it again
>Still tedious and boring
>People say to play the DLC
>Asking me to pay for DLC on a game I don't enjoy
I think it is an okay game, but really damn boring compared to DaS and DeS.
Also, I hate what they did with invading in it. Fuckin stupid. It made it so annoying to get fucking orbs. Not only that, but the connection was even worse than DaS, at least on release.
Also I fucking love the Guardian axe. Thing is awesome looking.
>muh superior katana cuts through finest steel
Dex is fine. Rapiers are fucking cool.
Katanas are fucking stupid though, I don't know why people like them so much. If you are using it just to spam bleed for easy modo, you could just use the gold tracer.
At least it doesn't look stupid.
I agree mate. I'm really let down with Dark Souls 2. I'm going to reinstall it and try to play through it again, but, I don't think I'll like it still. I'm trying to clear my mind of all expectations before I go though.
The retarded combat system basically makes blocking and physical defense irrelevant and parrying punishes use of slow weapons. Of course everyone will end up twohanding katanas and lifehunt scythes.
Fists and hammers
Greatlord Greatsword is fucking perfect for me, it even has great twice in it's name.
Silver Knight Spear is a close second and the Black Knight Greataxe is fun as hell to use.
Something tells me I'd love the crescent axe if it wasn't faith-based and could be upgraded past 5.
Pile bunkers make me erect.
It's a shame there are pretty much no games bar pic related and BBCP that actually use them.
It's cool dude. But opinions aside, talking shit about a game that is undeniably VERY similar to it's predecessor that is praised to high heavens makes you look like an elitist asshole.
>inb4 a barrage of petty arguments about how DaS2 in infinitely superior do DaS 1, the greatest game ever made of all time ever
All the Black Knight weapons and Gravelord Sword.
A Murakumo is fine too.
The most infuriating part of DaS2 is the movesets. Black Knight Weapons being in the game and having generic movesets physically hurt me.
I restarded Dark Souls the other day just wanting to do a "plain/divine knight" build with a simple longsword or something upgraded to divine with sunlight blade.
Now I'm just rushing through with BKS and slaughtering everything
To be fair, although powerful, most BK weapons had useless movess as their strong atacks. Having to use jump atacks instead of simply use strong atacks was kinda annoying at times.
But anyway, I always found cool how really 90% of the weapons in both games were perfectly viable regardless of some being clearly superior to others.
Worrying too much about the nitty gritty stuff could be a fun killer.
All those katanafag tears in PvP, too bad it wasn't in DaS
Shit man. That fucking halberd was so good I ended up using it for the whole game, even though I was a riposte thief.
Then I made a knight and ended up using it the whole game again.
Maybe if you didn't have to grind so much to upgrade weapons I might consider varying my arsenal a little bit more.
I don't understand how this isn't everyone's favorite weapon, at least for PvE.
Well, I feel foolish.
Bonus points: Best armor set
I don't know what drew me to it but I wrek people online with it all the time. Plus it looks pretty snazzy.
I've been meaning to try a build with this. It's like a Zwei with fucking shockwaves. Looks fun as fuck.
How hard would it be for someone to make a mod that allowed for higher upgrades on gear that uses twinkling titanites?
Or maybe just fix this unbalanced upgrade system in general.
What's the point of making all these awesome weapons balanced gameplaywise when some get screwed over afterwards?
I love her so much.
Every round I have to play as terrorist makes me sad because I can't play with my raifu.
>Performs like a properly scaled claymore without any need to invest stats around it, allowing them to be invested elsewhere
>Boss as fuck shockwaves cause knockdown
>buffable, buffs extend to the shockwave
I feel naked without this sword. Truly the best.
Literally perfect in every way.
Dark Souls kiddies don't even know the joy of De Souls Mirdan Hammer. No other weapon in all three games has even come close.
Welp, that sucks.
Maybe even people at From could patch it, seeing how undeniably popular the game still is, considering it's a bunch of years old now.
I'm not very knowledgeable with this shit, but it doesn't look like something that would take a whole lot of effort.
Nah, minmaxing is boring for me. I just didn't want to be overly punished for trying to experiment with the game.
looks cool and practical and isn't shit
>all these casual children using crutch weapons
Recently thought the same. Fuck poking and curved swords, i want that thing back.
That thing was baller. I preferred the flamberge though. Took a while but i started wrecking people left and right with that thing.
>"Alright let's manmode and kill this faggot toe-to-toe!"
>equip Gold Hemmed Black set, Dragon Crest shield, Flame and Speckled Stoneplate ring, cast Flash Sweat
>still gets 1 shot by the fire breath from above
It's like they WANT you to exploit the bow + Red Tearstone combo
you just triggered my PTSD
cutting off seaths tail is a fucking cakewalk compared to that giganting nigger
Yeah I've not got the balls to do that.
I love Dark Souls because it actually puts a gut-wrenching fear in you just using gameplay mechanics. And it's so weird since the only thing you have to lose is 'souls', and no one with a brain goes into a boss fight with lots of souls. But you do get genuinely frightened fighting some enemies, it's great game design
>tfw Kalameet dives three times in a row
>Hit the tail once each time
>Got the sword in less than two minutes.
>cutting Kalameet's tail
I play Mon Hun.
Wasn't so hard.
Time for cheap unblockable jump attack exploiting :^)
But just reaching Kalameet ASAP means going after him already super far into the game.
>mfw I made a lightweight character and tried to rush for Ciaran's weapons early game
Even if Dark souls 2 isn't as good as 1 it had some really cool weapons.
This and elite knight set.
No other reason to use anything else.
Well that's an unecessarilylong sheath.
I love Ricard's Rapier but it's so fucking OP I don't have any fun using it. Even without buffing or putting any serious worth in upgrading, it just magically turns bosses into fine smears across the ground.
I am very fond of the Avelyn, the Abyss Greatsword (dat R2 flip gaddamn!), Priscilla's Dagger and the utility of the two Tracers.
Also Bandit's Knife. Thief starts with an amazing weapon AND the best gift as a freebie. It really makes a huge difference for people starting out.
>tfw none of your 3 favorite weapons made to Dark Souls 2
>Dark sword and dark hand
Yup, you'd have to be a scrub to die to someone using those.
thank fuck demon spear didn't
no reason to use anything at all
Some weapons like Demon Great Machete block better than a lot of shields actually
Elite Knight set looks great, but i prefer mixing the knight armor and gloves with the elite knight legs.
Oh and the hollow thief's hood, sadly i never found a hood that matched as well as it in dark souls 2 so i ended up using the knight helm.
Smough's hammer is love.
Smough's hammer is life.
