Though my favourite was this one
That boss fight built up so damn well. Endlessly getting fucked by armstrong, fighting, failing, fighting over and over until you can finally bite back with unrelenting fury to these words at maximum volume
>Latin chanting of the final bosses name during the final boss fight
>Games main theme plays during final boss battle
>fighting the primals (garuda, titan etc.)
>second half of every fight, the boss rages and shitty japanese growl metal kicks in
>Latin chanting of the protagonists name during the final boss fight
>Final boss/any boss has multiple stages
>Same track plays throughout, at the same speed, however it changes drastically throughout the stages
>Bonus points if it starts with instrumental in the first stage
>expecting an orchestral music, latin chanting and such
>a bittersweet melody starts playin
SLAVE TO A BROKEN ORDER
DARE YOU LOOK UPON THE TRUTH
>'Now the war's over, i can get married'
>He gets shot down
>Your previous wingman appears
>Flamenco and orchestral music intensifies
>game's main theme is 8 mins long and has 3 different sections
>the game's final boss is the first section looping
on phase 1
>changes to second section
on second phase
CAN YOU FEEEEEEEL LIFE
MOVING THROUGH YOUR MIND?
> Final boss has only a sad piano theme.
>The OST is significantly improved by replacing all instruments with a shitty guitar and a kazoo
>Engage the Enemy switches into You Will Know Our Names
"LOOKS LIKE WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE!"
>RULES OF NATURE
>THERE WILL BE BLOODSHED
>TIME TO LEAVE THEM ALL BEHIND
>I FINALLY FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
>WASH AWAY THE ANGER
>RED SUN OVER PARADISE
>THE UNELIGHTENED MASSES
>ALL MEN WHO BEND THEIR WILL
Normal battle music was pretty fucking hype too
>A BRAVE NEW WORLD RISING
>LOOK TO HISTORY
>CAN'T BE CUT
This works extremely well and is extra satisfying if done for sympathetic bosses-- old friends, family, party members, the former hero of another time, grizzled veterans who remain loyal to the tyrant's system for honor, etc.
>mfw I know exactly what you're talking about
>Ally forced to fight against you
>A different version of their theme plays.
> Final boss has a reasonably adventure-y theme playing.
> Harder than anything you've encountered, but not unmanageable.
> Pretty ok fight.
> The boss's attacks suddenly start to miss.
> Your attacks start doing more damage.
> You suddenly realize what the fuck you are doing.
> You can either stop fighting or end it violently.
>not even a primal, but has the best music
>Game has a vocal theme
>Final boss music is a remix of the vocal theme with chanting instead of lyrics
>2nd half has both the chanting AND the lyrics
They are chanting Zeus/Kratos in that music?
>mfw someone else appreciates the music in God of War
It's not all good but... some of it is pretty god tier, at least for the situation.
>final boss music is amazing
>final boss is absolute shit
Fuck you Ceadeus
>Postgame superboss is the protag from the previous game and has the normal battle theme from the previous game playing.
>You're just another random encounter to him.
In singleplayer it is. The Alatreon is more like a post-game boss.
>First time playing MGR
>Stuck for hours on Blade Wolf
TIME TO LEAVE THEM ALL BEHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND
>Monster hunter type game
>Can get a huge powerup mid hunt
>Become fucking invincible, deal fucktons of damage
>Become fast as shit
>The powerup has its own theme
>most of the game is jpop or whatever
>get to a boss fight
These threads always remind how amazing it would've been if this was used.
I give my life
Not for honor, but for you (Snake Eater)
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you (Snake Eater)
I'm still in a dream, Snake Eater
>fighting an enemy like 15 levels higher
"ARE WE INSANE?"
why yes we are
>drum and bass on a fast paced area
>t13 in XIV
>10 seconds to Teraflare
>akh morns timed to climaxes in the song
Man it's fucking great
>one final boss theme has other songs mixed into it
>one of them is the theme of the MC from future games which foreshadows how him, the current MC and the final boss are connected
>final boss themes are remixed versions of their themes from previous games
Say what you will about KH, but you can't deny Yoko Shimomura is a genius.
>Orchestrated pieces everywhere
>Drum and bass boss fight out of nowhere
I mean the Dire Miralis, he's the urgent quest that puts you in HR8. That's where I consider the game "beaten", even though there's a bunch of different monsters you'll be able to fight only after that.
>playing first game
>in demon shaft
>finally get to the top floor
>holy shit boss crashes through ceiling
>this starts playing
the fucker broke most of my weapons with his gimmicky auto break, but goddamn it was fun
Games? Nothing is really coming to mind. Einhander is all I can think of and I'd love more.
>Vs gym leader
>tfw you're at the final pokemon and this plays:
Fuck game freak why do you remove the good stuff
>Fighting Jhen Mohran for the first time
>Getting my shit kicked in, ship status critical
>Hit him in the face, severely weakening him
>This song starts playing
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sMvGL7kwROs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I only played one but I'll give 2 another chance then. I didn't get this far. This shit bangs.
it's hard to decide
I think it has to be either 1 or 4 because of delicious brown elf queen
2 gets a special mention for that baller-as-fuck scene with her and her handmaiden/bodyguard
>Final boss music playing is final boss theme
>MC getting beat to shit during final boss
>suddenly mc refuses to give in and gains more power from his friends and shit
>intense as fuck remix of MC's theme starts playing
i fucking love this shit like holy fuck
Of course this was before 2012 the year of the Wub. Thinking on it I can remember few games that do lyrics during a boss battle apart from Metal Gear.
I wish DR 1 would come to PC.
Dark Souls taught me a valuable life lesson in both courage and perseverance. If you never give up, you can achieve great things.
But the harshest lesson I learned is that nothing matters. In the end, everything you've done is irrelevant. Clinging to this world is clinging to repetition, disappointment, and death.
We are in hell. There is no way out through any other means than your own will. If you don't have the will to carry on, you will suffer forever.
>The final part of the Jubileus Fight
Using Moon River only once was fucking Criminal in Bayonetta 2 though
>not WOOAH WAS IT WORSE THAN NOTHING, OOOOOOOOOH STORYTELLER
>Main theme of the game is incorporated in most if not all of the tracks in the game
Fucking Titan Quest
WE SHALL CAST THE SON OF HEAVEN I AM HUMAN, LET ME REST
Answers is so fucking good.
The trailer actually managed to convinced me to play the game.
It's 2015 gramps, the days of oppressing young elven maidens are over.
Post elf vanilla.
Not the final boss but in TH8 Imperishable Night, a remix of the main theme plays during the stage and it's fucking pumped up as fuck. Helps that it's totally synced with the stage.
>every single stage 4 theme in Touhou
>get an enemy to low health
>music hypes up
It's a new wave movement.
Not quite a boss fight but still pretty amusing when this was set as default music for that mission.
>fighting a god
>music is latin chanting
>suddenly switches to rock mid battle
GONE IN A SECOND
>extended version of main theme kicks in for final boss
Can't hold on much longer! (I will never let go!)
Why? In HM it's fun as hell because you can aoe all the little mogs as soon as they respawn and kill all of them. You can shit all over mog ex like gex tex and ifrit ex by having almost double the ilvl of the requirement.
ruffle your fluff
>Each boss fight gets their own hectic as fuck song
>The Final Boss gets a completely off the fucking rails remix of all of them
>Knock final boss off a cliff
>He starts singing
>First brick wall
>Literally tells you exactly what to do to beat him
Is this some running joke or is /v/ retarded beyond reason? He specifically says "BLOCK MY ATTACKS" then blinks red and swings.
Well at least it's a nice-looking anus. And I looked through the group's other works and there's some anal too so it's all good.
I just got a really big butthole fixation running. It's weird.
>everything's going to hell around you
>solemn choir plays in the background
Titan > Ultima > Ramuh > Mog > Levi > Ifrit > Ruda
T13 > T9 > T12 > T5
Everyone loves Rules of Nature and "It has to be this way", but for some damn reason i LOVE Strange i Remain, and the 0:46 part is just perfect, i didn't even like Mistral as a boss, but i for some reason love it.
Do you mean this in terms of music or the fight itself?
Because Titan and Ultima have some fucking awesome music, I actually have Titan and Ultima's themes on my phone
also Limsa Lominsa.
Ultima normal is a fucking boring faceroll, Ultima hard is only hard because nobody breaks the linked orbs in time. Not a huge fan of those fights, but I love Titan no matter the difficulty.
Also even though I love Titan, I really do also like Ifrit's music. I remember the first time I did Ifrit, the music really gave me that 'oh shit' feeling.
This whole game has good music, god damn it.
Music. None of the themes are bad either, the OST is so good. As for fights, Tex is the most fun primal and none of the rest really compare by either being too easy like Levi or Shiva or too tedious like Mog or Ramuh. Coil fun is in the same order for that though.
That's a perfectly reasonable opinion, though
Just because you like something doesn't make it good, and you can be aware of that
See: Mirai Nikki
Also, wandering, engage an encounter monster like a cyclops, garm, or Chimera. Long drawn out battle, pawns are low in health and battle is very close for both sides. Encounter monster health reaches final bar. Music suddenly changes, faster pace and more dramatic. Gotta love those 'you're almost there! FINISH THEM' music. It gives me such a rush.
>all of the themes in the game were just generic 8-bit shit
>Final boss's theme throws in fucking heavy metal just cause
Sadly I don't know any games that actually do this
tomorrow is mine > moon river
>because people tell them so
It is very much possible to see something and say to yourself, "From an objective standpoint, this is not good" and yet still like it
Terraria kinda does it, normal music all pixely and stuff and then Plantera is just
>mfw guitar kicks in as tendril appears on screen
There is no objectivity when it comes to opinions
You're just being a pathetic idiot with no backbone
>I like listening to David Bowie!
>Really faggot? His music is shit
>Y-yeah that may be true, b-but I still like it
>music distorts every time you go off a jump, when you take damage and when your health is below a certain point
>it works for custom music too
Based Studio Liverpool.
I know it isn't really the same, but this is just so incredible. Just the soft lyrics coming in, coupled with the low wind in the background and the rumble of a thunderclap, while it slowly pans out from a silent and still Arthas-turned-Lich King overlooking his new domain is chilling. Absolutely brilliant on Blizzard's part.
>song starts with a 8-bit tune
>then goes full on spooky but the tune is still there
>Final boss gets an orchestral theme
>It isn't an orchestral version of the game's main theme, for once
>It's a unique final battle song that incorporates the villain's leitmotif into a sweeping arrangement that blows every other song in the game out of the water
>mfw can beat it with most of the cast solo without cheapass builds
>Some even before God in fire starts
The word "shit", being used to describe something being of poor quality, can be used in both subjective and objective statements.
For example: "I don't like X. I think X is shit." (That being a subjective opinion disconnected from objectivity) or "After objectively analyzing X we can safely say that X is shit"
Saying "I don't like Z. Therefore Z is objectively shit" is wrong. Saying "I like Y. But it is, regardless, not objectively good" is not wrong.
I would like to add that the word "shit" is completely irrelevant to the discussion as the word used to describe the quality of something earlier was "good".
>Spooky music throughout the whole game
>UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ
I don't understand what is so hard about him.
He has no defence, all his gear except for the weapon is level 1.
You have 5 people in your party, meaning each has to do around 25k damage, which is piss easy with the damage you're dishing out.
He's also high level, meaning he gives fucktons of xp, meaning that xp to ___ skills give crazy amounts of health/ex/etc.
At first it seems like he's intimidating but in fact they give you every advantage they can. Not to mention he's predictable as fuck.
I had shit gear as well, because I didn't grind at all for any, and he just instantly broke me every time and then wiped me out.
However, I can do it equipment-less if I use The Emperor. So I don't know what's up with that.
>it get more and more fast paced as the fight goes on
No it's never objective. In your second example you just found your opinion that something is shit by arguing with facts, but that doesn't make shit a fact. it's an opinion.
If you like something it's your opinion, no matter what.
If you think something is shit, it's your opinion no matter what.
If you like something and say it's shit, you're just a retard
>being that people consider god
>church bells play during the song
This, so much this. Since Live and Learn has already been posted, might as well post some of the other good ones.
>final boss theme is a remix of the main theme
I will never get tired of this.
>beaten, battered, demoralized
>friends captured to be used as glorified batteries
>...the power is yet unknown.
>yfw its time to put an end to this
Emperor completely destroys Feral.
The ai is just too stupid to comprehend how traps work and they just jump into other traps.
Also he's fucking huge, so he just trips on mines.
>have to take down a fleet of battleships by yourself
>remix of main theme begins to play
>You're this dick's clone
>It's your final battle against him
>Whoever wins goes on to fight the final boss
>This starts playing
ToA may have had some issues, but music wasn't one of them.
This song did it best.
FINAL ULTIMATE LEGENDARY EARTH POWER SUPER MAX JUSTICE FUTURE MIRACLE DREAM BEATIFUL GALAXY BIG BANGG LITTLE BANG SUNRISE STARLIGHT INFINITE FABULOUS TOTALLY FINAL WONDERFUL ARROW! FIREEEEEEEEE!
In terms of boss songs with lyrics, a bunch
But the way they did it, in which at certain points of the boss fight the audio switches from the instrumental to vocal version was genius
>falling to earth
>you have to kill the final boss before you hit the earth
>"I won't hesitate"
Kazoo anon fucking delivered 10 fold back then.
Wonder whether he's still alive
>That fucking speech Zero gives
God, this was the coolest shit
>Fighting the boss
>Barely beat her
>Suddenly she revives and is literally invincible
>You have to survive until she runs out of steam
>The music syncs up with her attacks and kicks into overdrive
>playing persona 4 for the first time
>shadow yukiko fight
>party is almost down
>out of sp
>throw out one last physical attack
>All out attack!
>OH GOD LET ME OUT
>CAN YOU LET ME OUT
>CAN YOU SET ME FREE FROM THIS DARK INNER WORLD
>SAVE ME NOW
>LAST BEAT IN THIS SOUL
>ORGAN PART KICKS IN
>All out attack kills the boss
i know it's just part of the normal song and it was just just a coincidence, but i've never got goosebumps that big from a video game than that moment
