You know, I actually fear this. I don't know a ton about sales and shit, but I know the Wii U didn't sell as well as other consoles, and thus it's games don't either. Now, does this mean they're not selling enough to stay afloat or is it simply that they're not making boatloads of money?
Because Nintendo died after launching the Virtual Boy and Gamecube, right? It takes more than just a single 3 year old console to kill a company, whether it's Nintendo, Sony or MS.
I'm glad Swapnote got shut down. A ?very? young Japanese girl started sending me pictures through that after we added each other after a session of Animal Crossing NL. She kept sending me like 5 messages a day even though I had stopped replying, she didn't even know English and I never wanted the pictures, what the fuck
All of the döner! I'm telling you, you may laugh at me now, but when they come for the döner, it will be too late!
Nintendo's sitting on Scrooge McDuck-tier reserves of money - they could absolutely weather several generations worth of underperforming consoles. If the fucking Virtual Boy couldn't kill them, nothing can. That being said, there's certainly the risk of them playing it safe with more Mario rehashes or selling out with F2P mobile shit, but at the same time, their stubbornness and slowness to adapt might prevent that for a while.
>Get banned from Club Nintendo
>Smash CD comes in anyway
They've already been testing the waters with stuff like Sub Wars, Rusty, and now Pokemon Shuffle. It sounds like they've each been pretty successful too... At least Sub Wars' freemium model is actually good though, but seeing how many people gave money to Rusty is disheartening.
Crash is also dead.
The industry won't change, gamers will die and the neogamers will replace us.
They'd be selling even better if they weren't sold out everywhere.
Imagine if all that scalper dosh went to Nintendo.
What was wrong with Rusty? You buy the games you want and get discounts as you buy more. I don't think it should have been ~$20 to get all the games, but the model itself wasn't bad.
Rusty felt very predatory to me. As if it was like "you're basically losing money if you don't get these mini games on discount, so be sure to haggle with Rusty first then give us all your money!"
I suppose if someone genuinely finds the mini games fun then whatever, but watching videos of the unlockable ones was enough of a turnoff for me.
>nintendo power killed
It went to shit, nobody was reading it, and it was doing nothing but losing money for the publisher.
It was 90% porn and garbage posts
>nintendo wfc killed
Gamespy ran those servers and went out of business, the company that bought Gamespy demanded an insane amount of money to keep the servers up and running.
>club nintendo is kill soon
To be replaced with another, similar service.
Quit being a fucking retard.
>To be replaced with another, similar service.
"Similar" service: Spend 200 dollars on eshop purchases, get 10% off your next eshop purchase!!!!!!!!11
Why do you think they're not keeping the legacy addressing and physical copy code info for the successor? Because they don't need it. Enjoy your digital garbage.
But Sony is leaving Nintendo in a ditch when you compare sales and popularity. I'm glad I moved on from Nintendo.
Not even close. The last few years for Nintendo have been awful, even the last two Pokemon games were dreadful.
