Who here is going to stick with their PC for gaming until they die?
I feel like consoles just capture a way different audience than who I am. I don't like cinematic games or dudebro shit.
Yeah, I hate consoles. I only like MMORPGs and indie games. I hate Smash Bros., Bayonetta, Wonderful 101, all those games.
Indie games and mmorpgs are the best.
>tfw no point and click archer adventure game
PC doesn't offer me nearly as many Japanese games as consoles do, so no I'm not ditching consoles.
Closest thing to an Archer game we'll ever have.
Right now I'm PC + handhelds + Nintendo/Sony, but if console game prices go up to $100 or higher (I'm in Canada, they're going up to $75 and we just had a price raise before this too) I'm just gonna stick to PC + handhelds.
Instead of listing what you don't like, list what you do like. If cinematics or dudebro ain't your bad, then Nintendo's got some nice, fun, happy stuff on both of their systems.
So, PCucks, what games are you looking forward to in 2015, besides MGSV and witcher 3?
how much shovelware do you all have in your steam libraries?
how does it feel knowing the industry has completely abandoned you, and you completely brought it on yourselves due to rampant piracy?
how many petitions have you signed begging for games like bloodborne and bayonetta 2 to be ported?
how much do you weigh?
>PC MUSTUR RAIS
>mfw all I've been doing with my PC is emulating console games
Uh dude? Most of the games that come out for consoles also come out for PC. The only reason why exclusives exist for consoles and not PC is because Microsoft wants to compete with Sony on the console market.
I mean, enjoy whatever exclusives your platform has all you want, but exclusives are incredibly harmful to the consumer, which is what you are.
I feel like it , although i started gaming on NES through PS1,2 then i jumped to PC and i had both 360 and ps3 later , but just for few exclusives then i sold them. Lately i'm having fun with emulators , waiting for TPP and TW3. AAA games have gone to shit and only reason for a console is maybe THAT exclusive that you really wanna play. But even exclusives aren't really all that hot to me. For now only BB seems like a good game
These days everything is on PC , they are cheaper than they ever were , and are getting cheaper every day. Lets you pirate stuff freely and use all your stuff for free. No subscriptions and all that shit. And I can work and play on same machine which is also great.
Consoles are fine for the here and now, but PC's retention is timeless. I find security in being able to play a game that came out this month, or 20 years ago, on the same machine.
Bonus points because porn, my social life, and my games are consolidated into one machine.
I can plug a controller into my computer, and run emulators. Boom, instant console.
I like my PS4, my 360 and my Wii-U well enough, but I know that those will all be avilable on the PC too, even if it takes 10 years to do it.
>So, PCucks, what games are you looking forward to in 2015, besides MGSV and witcher 3?
bannerlord if it's coming, more warband if not, i've still got a bunch of games i haven't even played yet like morrowind and TW:rome 2/shogun 2
>how much shovelware do you all have in your steam libraries?
i don't know if i even have any shovelware to be honest
>how does it feel knowing the industry has completely abandoned you, and you completely brought it on yourselves due to rampant piracy?
if by the industry you mean AAA, i haven't cared in years, all of the games i'm interested in aren't AAA or are PC exclusive
>how many petitions have you signed begging for games like bloodborne and bayonetta 2 to be ported?
i haven't signed a petition and none of those games interest me
>how much do you weigh?
190lbs, i could do with losing weight but i'm not overweight so whatever
>tfw I've done nothing but emulate SMT games on PCSX2 for a while now
A lot of us do, I own a PS4 and Wii U but consider myself PC gamer. PS4 is in its box in the corner of my room and Wii U was only used for w101 and Bayo 2
PS3 was only used for TLOU, Dragon's Dogma and Demon's Souls
360 was only bought for Gears and Halo
Wii somehow got the most mileage since my friends love Mario games for some reason
It's not like we're poor
I can't agree. Every single game I own for the system I have enjoyed immensely.
In fact, because my computer is somewhat of a toaster, I even got Deus Ex: Human Revolution DX for my Wii U and I haven't regretted it one bit.
You been living under a rock?
More shit than ever gets ported to PC these days. Devs that abandoned it last gen are crawling back. Even the Japs are getting on board the platform. Sega just announced they are going to focus on it over consoles.
Consoles are on the way out. These days they are just shitty, locked down, proprietary PCs with expensive games and lacking variety. It's the platform of fools.
>mfw been a console player for nearly 2 decades
>invested a good £800 in components and built my gaming PC last week
>mfw finally realized the error of my ways and saw what I've been missing out on
>most games also come out on PC
like? i'll give you MGSV and Witcher. What else is there? Ass creed? CoD? fucking battlefield?
and then obviously all those shit indie shovelware games that can't even be described as games
PC is the worst platform for post-2005 gaming. emulators and indieshit are all you have. Just admit it.
PC as gaming platform is only recently became a thing. It's just never gonna stop growing , it's a fucking PC , it just keeps going forward. If you really care about your gaming experience , you like it best , then PC is the only way
A large amount of the gaming population on consoles aren't elitist gamers, mostly for occasional/"casual" gaming.
Of course PC Gaming is better in terms of quality, it's mainly the price of a new PC/not being tech savvy to build your own that's limiting PC's gaming population
I won't admit any such thing, as it isn't true. Especially when you mention post-2005 gaming, I get that you are a boring faggot troll and everything but still dude, apply yourself a little. Pic related btw.
Finally, nice job skipping over the fact that exclusives are ultimately detrimental to you as a consumer.
It's why I've bought sony every gen they had a console. I know i'll get Japanese games I like from Sony.
>PC as gaming platform is only recently became a thing
I strongly disagree with this.
PC has been a strong gaming platform for more than 2 decades, it's just that people who played nothing but consoles have never heard of most of the shit that had been released and assume that there is very little and it's all crap.
>PC as a gaming platform
So Doom, Quake, Hexen, Heretic, Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, Fallout, and all their various sequels never existed? What about all the point and click adventure games? What of Star Control 2? All the flash games with more depth than you'd expect from them nowadays and various MMORPGs? What of pong, and text adventure games?
I think you're talking out of your ass. PC has always been THE gaming platform. Gaming platform as separate hardware "only recently became a thing" compared to how long PC has been in the industry.
It will remain my primary platform.
I tried the PS4, and at this point there is little disparity between modern consoles and PCs. Except that consoles are locked down.
I do plan to get a 3ds and gateway eventually though.
You say this as if there's anything worthwhile coming out on pc.
I always laugh at the people going for this masturd race meme. You can pretty much smell the underage because this people are extremely excited about playing console trash on pcs and aren't old enough to realize that pc as a platform has been going down fast and has almost hit rock bottom.
For real though, is there any reason to own a console besides some of the exclusive games?
I too loved dealing with GFWL and playing with hackers on dark souls 1 and dark souls 2.
In fact, I love playing with hackers all the time while they scream their epic memes to me.
Outstanding multiplayer experience. The pinnacle of gaming.
For real though is there any reason to not grow all your own vegatables?
For real though is there any reason to not order your own parts and fix your own car?
For real though is there any reason to not work out every day?
For real though is there any reason to drink anything other than water
That benefit is absolutely trivial in comparison to the extra expense of having to own multiple systems. I mean all trolls and oh so witty golden face pictures aside, if you are a PC Gamer who wants to play bloodborne you have to incur an additional expense that really should be unnecessary.
By contrast if you are a PS4 gamer who wants to play oh I dunno the total war series, grey goo, the dawn of war series, CoD games that don't have shitty controls, multiple kickstarter RPGs, FPSs, RTSs and adventure games, you then have to invest in a gaming PC which while not as expensive as trolls on here like to argue, is still ultimately an additional expense that really should be unnecessary.
Listen, i hate the mustard race shit. but pc is going up. the late 2000's is when it really hit rock bottom. insane dlc schemes, drm shit, franchises milked etc etc.
steam has been on the rise since then and more and more focus is being given to pc. metal gear actually STOPPED getting pc ports but now its GETTING THEM AGAIN. this phenomenon is happening with other series as well.
all in all i'd say it's good to be on pc and good to be on consoles. though i would say consoles are entering a weird phase where the jump from each one to the next is getting smaller.
That's what you think today.
But one day not far from today all hardcore gaming will be streamed from the cloud, there would be no point in having this big rigs that get outdated every 11 months.
Appreciate this days when you still can play the lego of teraflops...
>but pc is going up
I don't see how that's true when each and every dev is fleeing the platform en masse and treating it as an afterthought at best. It just isn't true. Sure the consoles will never get something close to Mount&Blade and the like but these titles are so scarce and few between that they might not even be there. Also, they're not demanding in the slightest. I would certainly love to see pc dominating, it would be the best for everyone, but it just isn't happening.
This steam on the rise shit means nothing when most of the accounts are bots or russian scammers and the top played games are garbage such as LoL, DayZ or fucking Skyrim.
What I mean is, for people actually like what pc and ONLY pc has to offer, the platform is extremely shitty. But for people who played on consoles their whole life and now they want to keep playing their console games but with higher fps and graphics, it's a "miracle", but to me this screams underage and nothing else. But even for said individuals who gouge on AAA trash, they're much better with a console than with a pc, because there are many AAA console games that never see the light of the day on PC while the console can play all the multiplats while having their own AAA exclusives.
Early access and kickstarter are good ideas on paper to address the lack of attention PC is getting from established developers, but it's far too exploitable.
Sure it's cheaper getting a pc now, but that's it. Games have fallen short.
I'm loving the n3ds+PC masterrace
PC for "hardcore" games and VR
3ds for Nintendo fun and MH
i might throw a Wii U into the mix as well
the ps4 and xbone are essentially low end gaming PCs and none of the exclusives are interesting to me, so what's the point?
You're closing yourself in.
Consoles still have some of the best games in certain genres, for example action/beat em up, you won't find games of the caliber of Ninja Gaiden Black or Bayonetta on PC. Yeah, you have DMC 3 and 4, but you could be having more if you played on consoles.
Saying "all consoles are just cinematic and dudebro games" is like sayign "all PC is indies and MOBAs". It's still sort of right, most people who play on PC play MOBAs, and most people who play on consoles play shooters/cinematic shit, but dedicated people who actually enjoy vidya play on all systems available. You're just marrying a standard (if you're a PC gamer, you're a IBM PC standard fanboy, not much different than being a console/company fanboy to be honest, plus there's also the whole Nvidia vs AMD, etc. Stop pretending PC gamers are more mature or better than the consoel demographic.
PC was more "hobbyist-centered" back int he 80s and 90s, but since the 00s and the internet becoming the norm in our everyday life, most PC gamers are also casuals and no different than console gamers.
get back to me when Sony or MS release a console remotely capable of even this
Nintendo games are just fun to me and I have no shame about it
im not going to list the games i play online. you are right i m probably imagining them all and daydreaming those countless hours spent killing people online
games fucking 15 years old are still up and running with servers available and people playing. jokes on you ffaggot.
>Consoles still have some of the best games in certain genres, for example action/beat em up, you won't find games of the caliber of Ninja Gaiden Black or Bayonetta on PC. Yeah, you have DMC 3 and 4, but you could be having more if you played on consoles.
actual fucking argument. thank you.
Anyone know how pic related is doing these days?
I've been having a blast with Gang Beasts with my friends but there haven't been any updates in a while.
I play pretty much every single game on PC, while playing any exclusives or things that I know won't ever get PC ports.
I also emulate shit, and then there's my 3DS which is basically a Pokemon machine.
Serious talk here, consoles would have never existed if they weren't cheap and easy to understand alternatives of PCs
If the average human knew how to build a gaming PC and had the money to shill for it, gaming consoles would cease to exist
>story and cinematics
...which is ironical since the publishers and studios chasing the magical unicorn of 'we're-the-next-hollywood' are simultaneously tailoring their 'muh storytelling' pretentions to an entirely new (read:younger) demographic who aren't "core gamers" or even "gamers" at all...
This is an autistic pet peeve of mine. No one is building anything they are just slapping some parts together. Pretty much no one knows how to build computers because companies can toss out something way cheeping and better. But don't fool yourself into thinking your hot shit because you play computer parts legos.
>mfw I own true mustard PC, Xbone, and a PS4
>mfw people still argue about all this and don't just buy the consoles off of craigslist for dirt cheap
>consoles and PCs used to have completely different games
>now consoles are just cheap PCs with a few exclusives
Well what do you call it then? Yeah it's just selecting parts that go good together and playing jigsaw but for now the only apt word is build
Anyway, great thing about PC parts is that they take a long time to become obsolete and if developers put more effort into optimizing for PC, it could take a whole decade until you need to replace anything
>upgrade graphics card
>realize that I could run almost all of the games I wanted to play in the first place anyway, and nothing new or terribly graphically intensive is interesting to me
I like the 360 controller better than keyboard and mouse. Also splitscreen multiplayer for when friends and family come over. With console, you don't have to worry about if it is up-to-date enough to run the latest games. It's pretty much all win unless you like MMOs or RTS games.
My brother got it, and I play it with him and friends when we can, even though there was a free version already.
I guess concerns about Double Fine were correct, but I hope this gets properly finished.
I have always been primarily PC. My older brother and I built our first GAYMAN PC when the Raven 16MB Video Card came out, and it came with Gex 3D and SanFransisco Rush.
I beat chrono trigger and SMRPG on SNES. We also played the shit out of Armored Core on PS1.
I don't buy into the whole "master race peasent" bullshit and play whatever I like. Currently I own 2 PCs, NES, SNES, 64, Gamecube, PS2, Vita, N3DS, and PS4.
I'll play whatever I enjoy. I don't care as much about what other people think as you guys I guess. You'll never convince me that old Square games are dudebro, or overly cinematic.
My brother and I have been playing Grim Fandango with a 360 controller. I'll never understand why people can't grasp how easily controllers work on PC. And even Steam Big Picture mode trumps most any console now. It's like to be a holdout in either camp you have to have selective hearing.
Just get both, and play whatever the hell you want. Stop trying to pretend one is a superior platform, because PC is versatile and will always win that argument.
If you say "i don't like worrying about wether my drivers are right or if my hardware is good enough" then you automatically lose my respect because you have to be pretty retarded to not be able to handle windows. My grandmother uses windows.
