Is it just me who thinks that, the overall build quality of the New 3DS and New 3DS XL is terrible?
I have bought 3 New 3DS XLs and 2 New 3DS'. All 5 of them have had some sort of defect.
N3DSXL #1 – Warped backplate, unable to sit flat on a table.
N3DSXL #2 – All the shoulder buttons all made a different sound when pressed: one of them had a loud clicky feel/sound to it. Two had a mushy feeling to it, with no "click" sound when pressed and the last one has a combination of both mush and click feeling/sound.
N3DSXL #3 – The lock on the volume slider did not work at all, while the lock on the 3D slider did.
N3DS #1 – Two of the shoulder buttons are harder to press compared to the other two.
N3DS #2 – Three of the shoulder buttons had a "mushy" feel to it when clicked, One of the shoulder buttons made a loud click when pressed.
>nintendrones already in full damage control mode
Agreed. The last decent hardware Nintendo made is the DSi XL, that was quality.
The Vita (both versions) are far superior to the 3DS in build quality, it's a shame.
The QC issues are not unique to the new 3DS models.
My first 3DS XL hat a dead pixel, super wobbly screen hinge and the left speaker was noticeably louder than the right one.
My replacement XL's screen wasn't inserted perfectly flat and the speaker issue persisted, but I learned to live with it.
Sold it and imported the new XL from Australia in November 2014. This one has that wobble again (though apparently it's done on purpose so that the hinge doesn't snap, great) but fortunately don't have any of the issues you described.
Two of my three friends' Majoras Mask new XL have dead pixels though.
Face it, the hardware part of any 3DS is a scam, not only because of the specs but also because of the ridiculously bad QC.
The platform does have a few great games going for it though, so you have to come to terms with yourself that you got scammed in order to enjoy the exclusives.
>NA ambassador n3ds arrived with no problems

>I have bought 3 New 3DS XLs and 2 New 3DS'. All 5 of them have had some sort of defect.
learn to take care of your shit, there is no way you will need that many amount of consoles
I mean, I have to agree because the New 3DS XL is the first Nintendo product I've ever purchased that shipped to me in a defective state.
It had a dead pixel, which is something I've never experienced on a Nintendo platform before.
Nintendo's been bleeding money for 3 years in a row, they're understandably looking for every possible opportunity to cut corners and somehow show a profit. They're counting on most of them being gifts for children who generally won't notice how shitty something is as long as it works
I still love (most) Nintendo games, but each year that passes I have a continually bad taste in my mouth. I really am starting to hate supporting this company
I went through 4 3ds's, two of which I still have, and none had problems.
I only got rid of the first two I had because they were regular 3ds's with fucking gloss on it.
My Majora's Mask 3ds has a piss screen effect though.
>the New 3DS XL is the first Nintendo product I've ever purchased that shipped to me in a defective state.
What was wrong with it? I had one with a bad cartridge slot, would pop the games right out without locking in
Nintendo products are a shit that I put up with just to play their games.
I don't own a 3DS but the Wii U is terrible
>glossy shit on everything
>gamepad has an awful battery when it should have come default with the better one
>no CD, DVD, Blu-ray support, not even basic media playback options
>no Dolby Digital Surround sound support
>awful, slow interface
>can't use Pro controller for settings
>can't use Pro controller in Wii mode
>2008 level graphics
Face it anon, them going third party (at least for consoles) would be the best fucking thing if you're a Nintendo fan. They could even make their weird-ass controllers for PC
It's just you.
I really like the N3DS XL
Only problem I have with it is the microSD card being hidden behind the blackplate. I thought I was gonna break the fucking thing when I was doing system transfer.
nintendrones, how does the cock taste?
Guys where's the best site for a Canuck to order a Gateway from?
It's true OP, there is definitely a lot of inconsistencies in quality with the N3DS. Myself I have a hinge that makes no click, while I know that the hinge clicking is standard.
Check this out
because i wanted one without a defect?
I ended up giving 1 away as a gift, returned the other two.
Now i have two left, one which i'm probably gonna return and the other ill probably sell a friend.
