Is there any games that have body horror/mutated people like pic related?
Dead Space has a lot of body horror, obviously.
Amnesia monsters, although they're kinda goofy.
Fallout ghouls are kinda gross when you think about people walking around with their faces all open and raw.
Quake 4 has a sequence where the main character gets their limbs amputated armor grafted to their bodies, and shit injected into their eyes. All from a first person perspective.
>when he gets hit by the car and just dissolves into sludge
>parents that show their young kids violent R-rated movies
Robocop is gruesome shit for a little kid
crazy thing about that movie, I saw it once as a little kid and didn't remember it being anywhere near as violent as it was. When I watched it again a few years ago it blew my mind seeing all the gore in it.
Granted, most of the violence in it is comically over the top.
That was some straight Cronenberg shit. I take you're looking for some Cronenberg shit in your games? Best bet: System Shock 2, Amnesia, Half Life series, Killing Floor, and maybe the Mass Effect series for the husks and other abominations.
>see that Candyman is on TV when I was younger
>mom tells me not to watch it
>go into my room and watch it anyways
>that fucking ending
I had nightmares for a week.
When I first saw that movie I wasn't even nearly prepared for how graphic the movie would be.
that lil fart sound that goes along with it
>Piece together that people end up getting gruesomely murdered with bees
God damn killer bugs in games freak me the fuck out. I'm not even an insectophope, just watching people get mutilated by swarms of insects or anything of the sort makes my skin crawl. Kind of like the scarabs scenes in the Mummy movies. God damn I should play RE4.
>parents let me watch Robocop 3 on VHS as a young kid since it was kid friendly and didn't have any gore
>one day see the original film on TV in another room away from parents
>mfw watching the scene with murphy getting shot up
>still manage to watch the whole thing
I'm surprised that I didn't have any nightmares at the time
Good ol' WB. Showing R-Rated action movies to 8 year olds.
really the only violence in robocop I remember being striking to me as a kid was when Murphy had his hand blown off, and when Emil got the acid bath. the latter especially.
Didn't really bother me that much though.
I loved Robocop and T2 when I was a kid. Its funny, but I think I appreciated them more as a kid with all that violence. made em seem more gritty and shit. Kids hate being talked down to and treated like, well, kids. So a movie with R rated action and shit will appeal infinitely more than today's sanitized PG13 action.
Anon I'm gonna relieve you a little; no death by insects in the movie.
You should watch it anyways, Candyman is handsome.
>be 8 or 9
>finally get satellite TV
>pull up the SciFi channel one night
>John Carpenter's The Thing is on
>watch it, everything on scifi is goofy and not scary anyway
>get to pic related
>turn TV off in the middle of the scene, have nightmares and trouble getting to sleep the rest of the weekend
good thing I did too, the rest of the film would've given me PTSD compared to that. Fucking love that movie nowadays.
>my gran made me and my cousin watch candyman on video for some reason
>we were both literally scared of that film, mirrors and hook hands for a long time
>watch it a few years back and its tame as fuck now
To this day I still don't know why she let my 4 year old self watch that
The Forest is pretty good for that sort of Hills Have Eyes feeling with mutants. But it's an incomplete game.
it does succeed in making you feel paranoid as shit playing it though
>tfw watching The Thing for the first time a few years ago
It was fucking amazing, I don't know why I waited so long to watch it.
