I have no joy playing games anymore since I started with PC
All the good games are console exclusives
I thinking about going back to consoles to get back my vidya libido back. That new psp looks a bit tempting
Don't listen to this PC player and or cuckold.
COME TO THE CONSOLE SIDE YOU CAN'T RESIST!
*clanks bottles together*
Stop trying to bump your own thread faggot, it doesn't work anymore and is obvious as shit when you look at the catalog.
Also reported for falseflag thread. The sooner you start saving for a PC you can get one you consolecuck.
>I have no joy playing games anymore
GOOD, HOLY SHIT, USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO RUN! RUN!! GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM THIS ADDICTIVE, LIFE-SUCKING DRUG!!
I've wasted so many years of my life on a fucking computer.
That's because PCs aren't meant for gaming OP.
Consoles only. I can't even care to play on a PC I get bored as fuck and distracted. Feels so forced.
>spend $800 on a new pc
>ask /v/ what games to play
>all toaster trash or ea/activision/ubisoft garbage
>"m-maybe I'll get some stream friends f-first"
>go to stream friend thread
>WELCOME TO SISSYBOI GENERAL
Is this what it feels to be a mustard?
>Skip gen 7
>started with PC
>all these fucking games
>It's ruining my studies
>now I remember why I stopped playing vidya
This is why I can't have fun.
>mfw ConsoleCucks always use the $1000 or $2000 mark to brag about their non-existent rigs
At least put some effort into it.
>All the good games are console exclusives
>men of war
>crazy modded skyrim
>wargame: red dragon
and I avoided all the multiplats as well (which most games are)
Its not even an argument. PC is the objectively the best platform if you are going single platform. You can even buy a competitive console killer.
Now noone who can afford it should go single platform. They should get a nintendo as well.
>All the good games are console exclusives
Litterally what game
except Nintendo exclusives?
Vanilla or modded?
I really was dissapointed hor fucking static vanilla was.
>mfw conquering a quarter of Europe as Greece and nobody gives a shit
>men of war
>crazy modded skyrim
>wargame: red dragon
Will remember that, thanks.
But first I'd need to finish a CK2 campaign and then make a Vic2 playthrough.
Both of which aren't going to happen anytime soon because I'm too busy with EVE Online.
I'd like to build a decent PC eventually but with how busy and hectic my personal life has been. For now, I'm just settling the Wii U and PS3 until things get cheaper. If 4chan is anything to go by, PC gaming doesn't really seem all that desirable.
>needing muh AAA graphics
if you want graphics we have 8 year old games that still look better than anything consoles put out.
>this faggot thinks modded skyrim is toaster tier
top kek you shallow faggot.
BLOODBOURNE ON PS4!
BLOODBOURNE ON PS4!
BLOODBOURNE ON PS4
BLOODBOURNE ON PS4!
BLOODBOURNE ON PS4!
BLOODBOURNE ON PS4!
>This is all PCucks had
>The only thing they had was downgraded
>I can play the exactly same game with my $400 console
>play X series, ArmA series, Total War series
>have mouse and keyboard for FPS/TPS/strategy/whatever game I want to use a m+kb for
>have gamepad for games that play better with a stick
>games in my experience typically run better
>still have console for exclusives
I can't say that these matter to you if not yea go get a console, but this is why I play on PC.
I'll never understand this place.
OP, don't be a dumbass. YOU play what YOU like, not what people tell you to like.
If you prefer colorful platformers, Japanese centric RPGs and controller based sequences, go for consoles.
If you prefer gritty shooters western centric rpgs, and strategy based gaming, go for PC.
It's that simple. don't buy a PC if you don't like the game library. Or mix and match, use PC for games you like of that library, and Console for games you like of other libraries.
It's not that hard.
I don't even need to try with a reply like that.
Not him but I play Dying Light, AC4, DayZ and CSGO. Specs are an i5 something and an r9 290. Sure these games run well/at all on lower end systems I just won't have to upgrade for a while which is all I care about.
I was assuming you would shitpost no matter what I replied. Looks like I was right.
Consolefags are so predictable.
>tfw no friends irl
>tfw most my online friends went on to have lives
>years later too shy/boring to make friends with people from 4chan
Gotcha, it takes two seconds to post your top played games. Not posting to prove me wrong, just shows how right I am
And don't even bother with the "I'm better than that" route. You already aren't if you're posting in this thread
come to think about it...what was the last good pc exclusive?
>see if it works
>see if its good
>see if it runs well on your specs
>see if its worth your money
and even if you dont buy it, if its good you will likely talk about it and essentially market the game for free. Piracy in fact helps games.
But I am sure you love spending 60 dollars on your console only to find out its shovelware.
i get it, but like i said. if you had no interest in them why bother pirating?
your argument is stupid. piracy helps gaming but yet your not paying for the game you are playing. How does that help ..."But im testing" is a bad argument because you arent going to buy it after that
>using /v/ flavor of the month slang like "cuck"
>general post reeks of faggot
Just kill yourself. No wait, leave this board forever and then kill yourself.
>Come back to /v/ for GDC
>Still not a single game out I really care about
>Nothing mentioned about Cyberpunk 2077
>Half Life 3 is a meme game that wont come out
>Haven't even started on the MGS Legacy Collection I have on my shelf so don't care about MGSV
>PC Master race no longer means anything
>No good PC exclusives
>No good games
>Only games I'm currently playing much are Insurgency and War Thunder
>mfw consoletrash buy PCs when they don't even know what they're going to play and actually want to play console games
>waaah your arguments dumb
>waahh because its dumb
but my points are clearly answering your question already, cant into reading comprehension.
>lalalalalalalalal I cant hear you.
>Steam is all there is to gaming
>Steam accurately measures what you are playing
Consolefags I swear.
What about the hundreds of hours I spend into different roguelikes, various freeware and stuff I directly bought from devs digitally or own physical copies of?
It's rare that you see someone bead around the bush this bad when they could allegedly prove how right they are in a lesser amount of posts than it takes to damage control.
No one is debating because it's a waste of time. This is how a shitposters act:
>Post 1: PCucks, never ever, no gaems, yellowface.jpg!
>Reply 1: Terrible argument <-focus on this one, use it as proof, repeat "cuck" over and over despite not being consistent and actually being the cuck
>Reply 2: Strongly worded, point-by-point rebuttal <-ignore this one, it can't be defeated so act like it doesn't exist
Why even bother when the shitposters will just act like the last reply doesn't exist?
but that is going back to my original point... your killing the industry buy doing that. companies need money to keep going. PC users dont spend money therefore companies arent trying hard for pc why would they
You could just not play video games. Video games are stupid and fucking gay.
Getting a PC has helped you move past video games and enter the real world. Congratulations, anon.
You are no longer a retard and a fat neckbeard and soon you will be able to fit into society like a real human being.
Im just going to blow the heavy fuck out of consoles for a moment here:
>cy helps gaming but yet your not paying for the game you are playing. How does that help
Word of the mouth, simply as that.
MANY people who would not buy the game end up playing because it is for free,if these people liked the game they will try recommending for their friends, their friends will recommend for more people and so on.
It works better with piracy because much more people play the game when they can pirate,i can pretty much prove that to you with numbers
You technical ineptitude is typical for a consolefag.
>implying this is a game that any side can win
>implying this isn't arguing for arguing's sake
more shovelware true, but also more games.
Having a larger demographic makes your platform more attractive. Also, a better chance at making games that would be paid off as console exclusive to become multiplat.
Hi, unrelated to this thread, but I'm a Wojak enthusiast from /r9k/. I currently have the image you posted catalogued as an unknown reference, could you clear it up for me?
I'm assuming it's a video game thing, but I'm unfamiliar with the source material and would love to have it labelled correctly in my collection. Can you offer any assistance in clearing this up?
>spending money on something when you don't know what you're going to use it for/play on it
I think it may be kill or at least nothing new has been seen since the trailer (bet I'm like you, haven't been on /v/ for quite a while)
Get on it faggot
But I understand you, I've been wanting to build a good PC for a while, but I don't really see the appeal, I dont really play much now and there are barely any games that justifies for me spending much
Maybe I will just build something with a G3258 and some of the new med tier amd cards (I dont care they're rebrands)
>ing because it is for free,if these people liked the game they will try recommending for their friends, their friends will recommend for more people and so on.
>It works better with piracy because much more people play the game when they can pirate,i can pretty much prove that to you with numbers
any pc player can pirate. You say "Oh this game is so good you need to try it" first thing i do...go home and download.
Honestly this is a good point to address. I have pc, ps4, and a Wii U. I find games more fun but then again it's easy to get people to play. All my pc gaming friends are poor fags and can't afford any games.
Sigh...are you dumb?Serious question.
I WOULD not buy the game, even if piracy didn't exist,so my act of pirating the game has no impact towards the industry, because i would not buy the game anyway.
Many people who pirate the vast majority of games are like these
What do we consider "non mainstream"? All of those games are confirmed working, as far as I know. Hell, I would consider Romancing Saga to be more obscure than any of those, and it ran just fine. There are bugs, certainly, but even the PS3 emulation is buggy. Way of the Samurai ran better on PCSX2 than it did on the PS3, in fact.
I would agree a PS2 is your "safest" bet, but the PCSX2 emulation has come so far that it's not really necessary.
You caught me.
I'm afraid that a shitposter will keep shitposting.
Right, but we're not comparing a Ferrari to a go-kart. I wouldn't call PCSX2 "pretty glitchy for non mainstream games" and allows you to improve the visuals.
PCSX2 is a very, very good alternative to a modded PS2.
OP, lets break this down.
PC: What it can do:
>Play PC based games depending on your operating system. (Can play older OS like win 95-XP if you dual boot)
>Play Steam, Origin, or any client/bowser based games.
>If high spec: Play every game through pirated ISOs and or roms (Digital)
>If low spec generally only emulates gen 6 [GC/PS2/DC/XBOX] and below.
Consoles: What they can do:
>Legally: Play physical disc based content, or digital shop bought content. Is designed to play these games so THEORETICALLY should work at maximum efficiency. (Not always the case)
>New gen consoles: Other then Wii U are not backwards compatible. This means to experience all the games each has to offer you need all three systems.
>7th gen consoles: Only Wii and 360 are BC, unless you lucked out and got an early model PS3. Wii can be played on Wii U. CERTAIN XBOX games can be played on 360. PS3 is NOT BC if the model is newer. Only first model PS3s have BC. The wii can be hacked and offer a huge variety of games.
>6th gen consoles: Gamecube can be played on the original Wii, but not the Wii U. Most of Xbox can be played on 360. PS2 has backwards compatibility with PS. with soft modding, the PS2 can play burned games.
>5th gen consoles and below: These are subjective to taste, and if you choose physical over digital content. They are easily emulated on any low spec device including mobile phones.
Essentials for the console user:
Wii U - offers Wii game playability, and Virtual wii that can be hacked to access the entirety of the GC library as well as tons of emulators for both Nintendo, and Sega consoles. N64/PS is better played on the actual console.
Wii/Gamecube - For hacking, and for the backwards compatabilty of Gamecube games. If you choose to hack the wii U its irrelevant, but if you prefer physical discs, it allows you to still play all your games. The gamecube is built stronger, so its really a matter of choice.
PS4 - Subjective to the library, best for digital users. Offers a large streaming service with PS+ that allows passive users to play a new game every month. You do not own these games.
PS3 - Good for the entirety of the PS3 library, and HD collections of classic PS2 games
PS2 - Has a large library of cult favorites and tons of RPGs. a lot of games, less control on quality, but a lot of good hidden gems as well as well known titles. A hacked PS2 has access to all PS2 and PS1 games Japanese and Pal.
N64 - Only for the people who truly love it, N64 carts are hard to emulate due to many compatability issues. Games like mario and zelda run smooth, but more obscure games like glover and goemon have texture issues. Physical carts are the best way to play, but may cost a bit to maintain.
Dreamcast - Dreamcast is a love it/hate it console. If you love sega arcade, it's for you. Its also got some of the best ports of certain well known games.
its been said before most people hear about it and pirate it again. just because you can do it and make excuses to feel good about it, doesnt mean its a hidden art form. Hell i can google it right now if i wanted on how to pirate games
The last games I've played were pretty good.
Red Orchestra 2
Arma 2 & 3
Project Reality mod for BF2 standalone
Natural Selection 2
Sins of a Solar Empire
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War
thats speculation and anecdotal evidence which is not backed up by statistics. (check out gamefreak torrented amounts and compare them to actual game sales, hell, just look at comments, its mostly third worlders pirating because the game is never released in their country)
My own anecdotal evidence, most gamers I meet ask me to show them how to pirate. When I do they they act like they found the holy grail.
Super Nintendo/NES/Master System/Genesis - Only for those who either still have their carts, or are diehard collectors. Games are fun, but the cart batteries have likely run dry and will soon due to age. Reccomended for emulation unless you're really passionate.
Sega Saturn: Only because of the price. Saturn games average at 150-300 per game due to rarity and scarcity. If you really want to pursue it, have the money for it.
Atari 2600/jaguar/coleco/intelivision: Only for collectors and those who grew up with them. Easily emulated. not worth going after in current day due to pricing.
All in all, it depends on what you like. I suggest a mix of console and PC to give yourself variety, but its ultimately up to you.
Just get out there and find the consoles and PC platform,s you enjoy and play em!
>Thats not true, most people who pirate are pirating a game they want to play. its common logic
>All the people who get something for free would pay for that something if there's no other option
I'll give you a example:
Katy perry is gonna make a live show and she's not gonna charge anything for it,the concert is for free.
Katy perry is gonna make a live show and each person has to pay 100$ to enter, she's gonna charge for it.
What show do you think it's gonna have more people?
All the guys who pay for the show are Katy perry fans but MANY people who would go to the free concert are just going because they have nothing better to do,understand now?
I don't give a damn for Assassin's creed or Fay cry but i pirate them anyway, just to see what the fuss was about and/or test the games.
>sorry meant torrentfreak not gamefreak
i assumed you didnt mean game freak. But back on point, pirating is getting more and more common now. Everyone does it, and those that dont know how, ask. So like its been said, word of mouth spreads info fast.
I thought this was about games, not their quality? If so shitposting circle jerks are trumping up games that aren't even released, and those that are (Infamous, Killzone, and The Order) are not games that every PC player are fucking tugging their dicks waiting to play.
That's your argument. PC has nothing but terrible games. But then you defend the PS4 with shit you don't even have. It's fucking pathetic. Then when you come across something you can't fucking argue you either A) ignore it, or B) fall back to "CUCK CUCK CUCK CUCK CUCK".
Why make /v/ suck a shitty place? Why?
>Katy perry is gonna make a live show and she's not gonna charge anything for it,the concert is for free.
>Katy perry is gonna make a live show and each person has to pay 100$ to enter, she's gonna charge for it.
>What show do you think it's gonna have more people?
>All the guys who pay for the show are Katy perry fans but MANY people who would go to the free concert are just going because they have nothing better to do,understand now?
i understand that point. But developers arent making a game to give away for free. thats the point im making. they lose money for every pirated copy. Each one adds up.
Ah yes, i'll just go out and buy a Wii U to play a single game and let it gather dust. Great stuff.
See? That's what you do. You shitpost more because you have no argument. I said Shogun 2, fucking fantastic game whether you like it or not (you probably haven't played it). But fuck it, the quality doesn't matter because the PC has games. What does the PS4 have? Shitty exclusives, and a long list of games you don't have or play because they're not released.
So why make /v/ a worse place? Why?
>Get on it faggot
I plan on it soon, just been hesitating since I heard it may come out on PC but it's doubtful. Honestly? Had it been 3 years ago I would say get on it, but now? It doesn't matter much, dev's cant even optimize shit anymore.
Not since manconomy, which was many years ago.
>implying tf2 was bad before it turned p2w
Not since LoL went full retard with weekly champions, which also was many years ago.
Also assuming you call DOTA a "MOBA", yeah I played that as well until like two years ago and even now occasionally whenever my younger brother comes visiting.
Played it a bit even back in WC3 times, before hating DOTA became an epic /v/ meme.
You'll probably also hold it against me that I played quite a bit of Skyrim, in the slim hope it would recapture the glory of older TES games.
Turned out to be one of the worst, irredeemable cases of buyers remorse I ever had.
That said, strategy games (especially turn based ones), roguelikes, space sims and grand strategy games were always the staple of my gaming habits.
It's just that I like to keep an open mind about things and enjoy trying new games out.
But apparently this is too much to handle for a narrow minded faggot that parrots /v/'s opinions.
>they lose money for every pirated copy
I'm gonna explain this one more time.
They don't lose money for each pirated copy because many people pirating the game would not spend money on the product anyway,EVEN if buying the game were their only option.
If you REALLY think that each pirated copy is one less copy sold for the company you're a retarded, sorry.
Read the concert example again and try to interpret what i really wanted to say
Are you new here? I Green posted because saying it's about games and not quality is the stupidest shit I have ever heard. When you talk about games, it's quality always has to be considered
When I sit by the PC I never play games, I just browse /v/ or jerk off or something. I look at my stream library and it mainly just feels like a hassle. I always try to multitask on PC and get easily side tracked because they are so fucking applicable. When I play on consoles I just sit down and concentrate on the playing, I chose a game among my smaller retail game collection and immerse myself and have a great time.
There is a beautiful simplicity with a console, and I actually think it's a shame they are becoming more and more like PC's, they are losing what made them special.
Oh boy, two whole games, need to plonk down that dosh right away for two whole games on a system that is built from the ground up to play video games.
>i have no argument as to why my games designed for children are any good
>they're better just because
Company of Heroes
And of course other single player games that come out.
You're a retard aren't you? I was pointing out that the shitposters are always going to say a PC game is shit but the games that are released on the PS4 aren't anything to write home about while everything else they trumpet around /v/ is unreleased so it's not even something they have.
No, it's not about quality. My post was about how dumb these shitposters really are.
Where did i imply this?I said that many people who are pirating the games would never buy them, not that ALL the people who are pirating the games would never buy them.
you're just making goalpost here
Holy shit this. Beaded smash and MGS I just can't get into anything anymore. I'm starting to realize you guys are actually right most games do blow.
The problem is some of the ones this board fucking loves I still can't seem to get into. If I manage to I only play for very short bursts.
I don't think I like games anymore guys. I read about them more than play them
>it's shit because I say it's shit
You sure convinced me with those hot opinions of yours.
Point was, I played a bit of everything and don't see the point of holding one or two games against me, especiall since your argument was that I ONLY played those.
I'm in the same boat, anon. I'll end up playing games that are overly complicated just because I'll spend more time with them just trying to learn. It's a shame. I just wanna lose myself.
That's the core problem. It's got nothing to do with consoles being underpowered. It's that they want them to be all these other things. It's like having Netflix and Amazon Prime distracts me from the fact that I never play anything on my PS4.
Barely anything is an actual exclusive these days. Besides, I can own an emergency console for when the occasional extremely rare actually worthwhile exclusive comes along. Although the rest of the time it is an under performing dustcatcher.
True idort here. PC, PS4, PS3, Vita, Xbone, 360, Wii U, 3DS master race.
I love PC gaming. Or, at least, I love what PC gaming was. The fact is that we're not getting the kinds of PC exclusives that we did even three years ago. There isn't a new STALKER. Every MMO that isn't WoW dies basically straight away. Multiplats are generally glitchy, console-first, cheaply made ports that are missing features, or simply have horribly shit performance. PC dedicated developers primarily make strategy games or indies.
So, while I WANT to love PC gaming as I have for decades - it is changing. Denying this is denying reality. It just isn't as good as it once was. Check Steam Stats - everything that isn't DOTA/TF2/CSGO/Skyrim collapses in a few weeks. Even modding is basically dead outside of a few select titles. Yeah, I know - you can mod your Paradox games, but it isn't like it was in the late 1990's. People played the major mods in the millions. That does not happen anymore.
ALL PC GAMES ARE FUCKING SHIT YOU SHITLORDS, GAMERGATORS WERE MAINLY PC PLAYERS, STRATEGY GAMES PC RPGS, INDIE SHIT AND FPSES BLOW ASS AND NOTHING FEELS RIGHT ON PC, AND ALL PC GAMES OBJECTIVELY LOOK WORSE THAN ANYTHING ON PS4
GOD I WISH I COULD EUTHANIZE ALL YOU MUSTURD CUCKS, LITERALLY NO ONE PLAYS PC GAMES EXCEPT MOBASHIT AND MMOSHIT, FUCKING DIE OFF ALREADY, I'M TIRED OF VIDEOGAMES BEING RUINED BY YOU CUCKS
I want to argue with you, but you're right. The modding scene for HL1 and HL2 were amazing, and several other games had awesome modding communities. That changed in the mid to late 2000's for a lot of reasons, and the main one is that publishers wanted more control of their games. It's hard to sell DLC that consists of only a map pack and a few weapons if users are releasing this kind of content in the thousands for free.
This is actually why I still love Bethesda games even with all their problems. It's like they're desperately trying to keep that part of the game community alive.
let me break it down for you
You said people pirate games they had no intention of playing anyways
I said People pirate games that they had intention of getting as well..
Get it? Good
Then I asked you if you pirated games that you wanted to get anyways and you said yes.
Then I pointed out that other people think that way too
I get that you pirate games taht you would not have bought. I wasnt arguing that fact
I was arguing the fact that you download and pirate games you wanted to get in the first place. everyone does, nobody is innocent
The problem is that when you're in front of a pc you've got so much shit going on you can't do anything,
specially if you have ADHD.
With consoles all you have is videogames, or at least that's how it used to be.
switching to PC made me realize that I don't actually like games. I only ever got enjoyment out of collecting games and earning trophies, now that those are gone I rarely play games. I do however play a lot more of a lot fewer games that I genuinely love rather than playing everything that releases.
Absolutely - it changed with the rise of DLC, and the realisation that user generated content that is viable in the PC space eats into the profit potential of studio-created content. It's that simple. So, they killed it. People who think that the current modding scene in any way compares to that of the 90's and early 2000's are kidding themselves - it's a shadow of what it once was. Putting tits on everything is not 'a modding scene'. Downloading Urban Terror and realising that you have a whole new game that is being played by thousands of people worldwide - that's a modding scene.
>>I was arguing the fact that you download and pirate games you wanted to get in the first place. everyone does, nobody is innocent
Jesus man,is like arguing with a door...i give up
EVE Online? With it's 55k concurrent users at max, which hasn't increased in a decade? EVE Online that prides itself on how impossible it is for the majority of the human race to have any fun whatsoever? EVE Online that was desperate to break into the console market with Dust 541 and failed spectacularly?
>I get that you pirate games taht you would not have bought. I wasnt arguing that fact
>so youve never ever pirated a copy of a game that you actually wanted to play and had every intention of 'buying' it?
This is the part where you weasel your way out of your own words by playing semantics and blame reading comprehension
at least playstation peasants can use the excuse of having 3rd party support
Nintendo doesn't even have that, so like basically everything that releases PC has and your fisher price machines don't. On top of all the things that already make PC better than any console.
I already read your posts. The original argument was that they lose money for EVERY pirated copy, because people who pirate games wanted to play them (which is somehow the same as intent to buy)
You need to be aware it's all on one unified server.
Not spread out over different ones like WoW.
That said if you are looking for instant gratification, it might not be the game for you.
Unless you like taking risks.
>(which is somehow the same as intent to buy)
ok, ill try again.
Example: You want skyrim. Youve been looking forward to the release for weeks, Instead of buying it you pirate it on release day. That was the point I made. Im not counting games you never wanted in the first place. Im counting games that you would have purchased if pirating didnt exist
I am aware of that. It's still 55k concurrent players. It's hardly an insane, sprawling community. It's 55k - at least half of whom are bots and alts.
You're right. 'Fun' is entirely subjective, and I am absolutely looking for instant gratification. Sitting for three days in station waiting for something interesting to happen is not 'fun' to me. Or to most other people. Sorry. I'm glad you're enjoying your game, though.
>you can't say its bad unless you played it
>Vote with your wallet! Don't like it don't buy it!
When people trump up mods as the PC's major selling point it depresses me. It's like they don't even realize it. They see games coming out and say "mods are going to make this game awesome!" and the chances of it being moddable beyond a few hacks and texture changes is very slim. Putting a Gaben texture on your shield in Dark Souls is nothing compared to dropping into Natural Selection for the first time, or playing your favorite WC3 custom games.
Fuck, even if the PS4 is a better platform than the PC the state of gaming is still beyond pathetic. It's like arguing who is the king of shit mountain.
I do this all the time. I just stare at my desktop and don't click anything. I agonize for like 10 minutes on what to play and then watch porn or browse or watch a movie instead and promise myself "later"
>PC users dont spend money
If that were true no one, and I mean NO ONE, would make PC games. Ubishit has complained for years about how bad piracy is on the PC, yet they still are sure to port all of their games to it. They're even porting Rogue. If there were no money to make they wouldn't do it. And it's not even that Ubisoft releases bad ports. Their games are buggy on all platforms these days.
Why would Creative Assembly even make strategy games if PC players don't buy games? It's not like the Total War series can be ported to consoles as is. They'd be broke if not for the PC market.
>There is a beautiful simplicity with a console, and I actually think it's a shame they are becoming more and more like PC's, they are losing what made them special.
>I have more than enough games in my library that prove you wrong
assuming your right about that, there is sstill a ton of people not like that.
also i dont know where you go, but i have gotten my money back for games i havent liked. just gotta do it right
>there is sstill a ton of people not like that.
not enough for you to make the assertion that piracy costs sales
>also i dont know where you go, but i have gotten my money back for games i havent liked.
With the exception of
Origin's24 hour policy, virtually NO store, digital or retail, will accept refunds on used software. Once you redeem the CD-key or open the shrink wrap, it's yours forever and can only be exhanged for an identical copy. That's how it works in pretty much every first world nation.
Why not? PC has the biggest library of games, AAA or otherwise, so it makes sense to invest in it as my primary platform. I buy consoles as secondary for their exclusives, but that's it.
technically every copy pirated is a lost sale
And there is plenty of ways, some are scumbag ways and some arent. They will try to keep you as a customer so if you make a big enough scene you can get your money back.
there's no way to prove every pirate was a lost sale.
Every used game sale however, is 100% a lost sale. How are used game sales morally OK then? I understand that the original purchaser forfeited their license in order for the used copy purchaser to play, but if used game sales were blocked then that person would have bought new.
>technically every copy pirated is a lost sale
Objectively this is incorrect.
And no, there are not plenty of ways to get refunds on used software. With the exception I already mentioned and Steam's 1-time thing, you're not going to get your money back for used software from any store in any way that isn't more scummy than pirating. No store is going to bend over backwards to override their return policy more than once just to keep you as a customer. It's common knowledge that you can't return games once opened or used.
>Im counting games that you would have purchased if pirating didnt exist
Which you have no proof for. You're operating purely off of conjecture and assumptions.
By claiming that they lose money for EVERY pirated copy, and that each one adds up, you're selectively counting games you think people will have purchased under a hypothetical. Your argument also relies on people wanting the game months in advanced purely based on hype. Your point is not only flawed, but disengenous as fuck.
>technically every copy pirated is a lost sale
>I get that you pirate games taht you would not have bought. I wasnt arguing that fact
>And no, there are not plenty of ways to get refunds on used software. The point wasnt returning it was getting money back. Ive actually exchanged a game that ive already opened at Gamestop (EB). Before. They gave me the "Just this one time blah " speel. But I did it. jusst took alot of talking and stuff but I got it done
