>tfw my backwards compatible fatty PS3 finally died today
This fucking sucks. Why is hardware so shoddy these days? I have a fucking SNES that still works like new.
>internal power brick
>hot as fuck CPUs/GPus
>motherboard with low energy cpu, external brick
That's why. That's why I like how tiny and low energy the Wii and Wii U are. I hate the slot loading drives though. I wish they'd go back to top loading like in the old days. Just an extra mechanism for the function of inserting and ejecting discs is another component that can possibly malfunction or break.
>yet my 30 year old NES still works
Nah, niggah. 10 years for an electronics device is pathetic.
Just look at how shitty the 360 was made. Not even 10 years, more like 6 months to a year would it break down.
Appliances and electronics should all have good years like 20-25.
Like the PS2, the PS3 was made with parts that Sony knows are cheap and would not last long. I eventually got over my BC PS3 dying though and got a slim recently.
But what the fuck is with Sony removing two USB slots and every card reader?
>Expecting Sony hardware to last longer than it's generation
>tfw have all of my Nintendo consoles's still working
>all of my Sega consoles still work
>both original Xbox and 360 still work
>All three Playstations broke down within a year of the new one coming out
4 THE GAMERS
both consoles were cutting edge technologically at their respective times and sold for around the same price when you account for inflation.
The SNES failure rate was extremely low while the failure rate of last gen consoles (360 and PS3) were almost 50 percent.
Think of a metal chain. As the chain grows longer, more and more links to the chain are added. But each additional link is also and additional spot where the chain could break
it's true you faggot, I had the original 360 and every 8 months it would RROD I would have to send it to microsoft than they would send me a new one, everyt ime they would renew the warranty for another year and it wouldn't even make it past the year mark. happened liked 7 times until I finally bought the slim.
The PS3 was equally terrible with their launch version, ask anyone about the dreaded YLOD.
>every 90 seconds there's a single troll post talking about how sony is bad and nintendo is good
>all other posts are just telling the person he's stupid
>implying we shouldn't have ID tags for this very reason
Nintendrones so so desperate
>i-is Wii U doing well yet? I'm trying! :(
