>Try to drink potion while idle >Animation moves forward slightly >Model his ledge and game makes me jump off canceling the animation I know I can just not stand near ledges or get hit but why is this a thing?
Is the Seregios SnS any good? I'm thinking the DS might be better, but I'm not as good with those. Also, why is Seregios such a breeze compared to Tigrex and Brachy? I'd say he's the easiest mascot yet.
I wouldn't mind if they brought back underwater combat if they actually polished it this time. Most movesets were complete shit in water and the movement was like moving in jello, you were slow as shit while the monsters were much more agile than you, it felt like complete shit to play.
So I really want the G rank Barioth armor, but I'm really just not sure if I can last long enough in high rank armor to get it. From what I see, I only need Lagombi, Khezu, and Najarala parts. Not exactly the most difficult of monsters, but I hear that G rank does a fuckton of damage. Is Stiggy Ziggs armor good enough to last for early G rank to get those parts?
>GL main >Going through Caravan Quests, currently on 6 >just made full Seltas set >mfw Razor Sharp and Artillery Expert >mfw constant Wyvern Fire with long-type shells and never running low on sharpness Holy hell feels so good.
>>285661206 lance main here. it's honestly one of the hardest weapons in the game to use (imo) especially as an ice skater. you really have to get used to backstepping like a pro. i recommend dash juice so you don't have to worry about stamina on top of everything. keep trying anon. i habeeb in you.
>>285673721 Spec your kinsect in speed. 99% of the time when you're using your kinsect, you'll just press R+X to send it out straight ahead, point blank to extract juices, and R+Y to bring those juices to you.
Red Juice is the most important as it increases your attack speed/changes your combo entirely. It's almost always located on the monster's head.
White juice tends to be on the tail and increases movement speed.
Orange juice is in weird spots and is your least concern.
>>285675293 Speccing in speed may be the most popular way, but it's far from the only way. Speccing in Power turns your Kinsect into a surprisingly strong range attack for when monsters are enraged and a bit too dangerous to approach. Add in some Stamina, and you can get off a few good hits before even recalling it.
Better yet, keep all 3 balanced. This leads to my personal favorite final Kinsect that can bring back two buffs at a time after a nice romp through a monster's entire body.
Speed is the standard, and a lot of people who never quite master how to use the Insect Glaive to its fullest potential rely on it all the way through. But learning how to utilize Power and Stamina well is a necessity to mastering the weapon.
>>285661206 Evade +3 beats evade + 2 and evade extender
Ditch extender if you have to.
>>285675037 >it's honestly one of the hardest weapons in the game to use (imo) especially as an ice skater. Its literally one of the easiest weapons in the game to use, all you need is evade 3 and a very basic understanding of monsters attacks. >dash juice Not needed at all.
I started evade gunlancing and noticed i really have to start using the camera targeting, the nipple is simply to slow to do 180° turns and stygian zinogre loves to jump between me and the camera. Hard to dodge if i cant see shit
>>285676171 I disagree, and I disagree from personal experience. I spec'd for Power early on, and my Kinsect destroyed shit. Speed doesn't matter nearly as much as everyone says, because 9 times out of 10 you'll be close enough to the monster to hit it immediately anyway. A strong Power Kinsect can help keep DPS up while still giving just as many buffs.
And there are four paths for an end-game Kinsect for a reason. If you honestly believe that the buff duration one is the only choice, you're just ignorant. The Balanced one is much better for certain playstyles, letting you get up your buffs much more quickly and frequently by bringing in more buffs per round, as well as giving amazing healing potential with its heal boost. The Buff Duration build is more suited for people who have a hard time aiming their Kinsects and who play more defensively.
Ledges are my goddamn worst enemy in this game. I've already happened twice where today where I get fucked up by a monster because instead of rolling out of the way I jumped into the air right into their attack
>>285676596 >has new 3ds >STILL has to be further babied with auto lock-on >yeah it's auto lock-on, call it "camera targetting" all you want >not feeling at least a little spoiled just using the virtual d-pad
Enjoy not being able to master using left analog and L to adjust camera, not mastering using the d-pad when in animations, and being unable to discern monster locations without adjusting the camera every time the monster goes off-center, thus screwing with positioning.
I'll stop being elitist now. But seriously, I'm glad I started on PSP because it feels really good and impressive doing things "the hard way". It kind of makes me sad every time I see the targetting camera reticule show up in a YouTube video. Monster Hunter could have had the targetting camera long before MH3U, it's only there to give into people who can't appreciate Capcom's love of 'artificially difficult' obtuse controls, that are fun in themselves to master. Which would be most people, so I guess I'm just happy it's optional.
well iodrome is my new most hated monster. I never liked it, I always thought iopreys were worse than genpreys and maybe vespoids but this fucker is the biggest asshole in the series, it broke my powderstone when I was climbing, I was about to return to the camp area and deliver it but it managed to hit me with the poison just before the loading screen. It was so fucking bullshit I'm not even mad because I can't believe it.
I'm going to kill every iofaggot I see, those retards are so fucking dead.
Has anyone got Brachy tips? I beat him last night in his urgent (LR) by carting twice, then this morning I carted three times on his frenzy quest. Beat him afterwards by playing it pussy as FUCK. I'm having loads of problems with just evading his normal attacks (using Lance), and I cannot block his endless barrage of shit often. Often when I try to hop out of something he ends up doing the headbutt with an aoe of the fucking Chernobyl fallout radius and I'm sent flying.
And when I try to heal he sometimes snipes me with a lunging exploding headbutt.
I just cannot capitalize on any openings, as he punishes me immediately afterwards. I did most of my damage with mounts, and let's be honest, if you kill a monster with mounts you don't really know how to fight it.
>>285678292 I miss playing MHT on the TV with my keyboard plugged in. The tiny ugly low-res screen, unergonomic rectangle that gets warm, the analog stick has no grip and I have to keep wiping my thumb on my shirt every ten minutes, lack of god-tier classic controller, and the chat just suffers compared to just chatting it up via keyboard with folks while you're in the lobby.
Dumb chinks and their handheld fetish. Though I should be happy MH4U is a 3DS exclusive, since I have a 3DS and if it was on Wii U, the online would be dead before I'd ever be able to get one. I'd REALLY be happy if they could just into PC. Hopefully my great-grandkids will get the chance to enjoy that.
>fight rajang >ah just how i remember him, fast and painful >enrages >mount him and knock him down >man i havent broken the horn yet even with ice what is this >WAIT WHY ARE HIS HANDS RED >WHY IS THERE A THUNDER AURA AROUND HIM >WHY AM I BOUNCING NOW >CAPCOM WHY DID YOU GIVE GOKU AN ARMOR MODE AND A SECOND ENRAGE >A LIGHT TAP DOES 90% OF MY HP THIS ISNT FUNNY ANYMORE CAPCOM
>>285679696 I dunno man, Fatalis Menace would be pretty damn good for early G-Rank. >tolerable raw and elemental >purple sharpness with Handi/Edge >AuL But on the other hand, the two castanets have good attack, songs, and a defense buff that can mitigate some of that early rank transitional 1HKO from a Genprey.
Is there a lock-on function in MH3U? I'm sure they explained it at some point when I started the great jaggi quest like 20 hours ago but I could never get it to happen? Am I missing something? Or did I completely make up the existence of lock on?
>>285678561 I used to main lance in MHF1, MH3U and MHP3rd and I still don't like fighting Brachy with lance. I mean I can deal with it if I use evade+1 but guarding isn't really an option here, you should only counter the roar.
Hammer, HH and CB (if you know how to use guard points) are the best options in my opinion, IG should be great too.
don't get me wrong, you can easily kill brachy with lance but it gets off the screen too often, you need to know what it's going to do so you can dodge its attacks even if you can't see them coming.
>>285680153 >desert zamtrios his fucking hitbox when he does that body slam is so weird when you try to guard it, half the time it just straight up does a crossup and still hits you
>>285680217 You can counter every single move he does. His most dangerous move with lance is actually his weak ass slap because it slimes you and it tends to come out of nowhere. It's hilarious when he rages because I find him even easier to counter.
