IT NEVER ENDS
>a prebuilt gaming machine
>on fucking linux
Depending on how much it costs to import some of those boxes may be damn well cheaper to buy here in Ireland than the individual components.
>Its a pre built computer with less value than one of those valueless shit boxes because it doesn't even come with steam
>All Valve have done is manage to avoid paying Microsoft license fees
>Meanwhile Steam Link is a pointless device that could be replaced by a single cable
Valve are the ultimate snake oil salesmen. Its cute that people honestly though it was happening, that they would have ANYTHING interesting to show.
>creates a small form factor PC that people can put in their living rooms
>makes it red and obnoxious for maximum vagina repelling effect
I could see myself buying one if they weren't so goddamn ugly
Zotac one doesn't seem too bad
CPU: Intel® 6th Gen Processor
GPU: NVIDIA® Geforce® GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5
Memory: 8GB DDR3 SODIMM bundled
Storage: 1TB HDD + 1 2.5" slot for upgrade
>People expected Half Life 3
>Instead we got pre built PCs and OS shilling sale
>People will still defend Valve as if they are any different than Microsoft or some other garbage company
lol valve drones
These machines makes you better than most people who built their own machine simply because it's running linux.
More master race than any windows user...
And if you do build your own custom one...
>mfw cunts on this board will buy one and called them self the Master Race.
These are worst than the shit Dell sells.
who actually going to buy these? they dont have exclusives like consoles and if you want to pc game you're better off just making a htpc build with much better specs
I put my over-priced lego PC parts together, installed windows and it just werks.
I'm master race now, right guise?
>anyone calling themselves pc master race unironically
Any gadget is like that.
Face it, these things will sell and be a success, all because we faggots spouted the master race meme for so long that console plebs are now genuinely believing it
>not waiting until Cyber Monday / NCIX Christmas sales to build a rig
>spent 2K on a pc
>hardly even play vidya
At least I can wave my dick around in a few threads on 4chan.
>B-but they are under load
>Even hitting those temps under load
ATTENTION YOU DUMB NIGGERS.
VALVE DID NOT MAKE ANY OF THE STEAM MACHINES. I REPEAT, VALVE DID NOT CREATE ANY OF THE STEAM MACHINES. THEY ONLY THING YOU DUMB NIGGERS CAN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT THEY CREATED THE OPERATION SYSTEM CALLED "STEAMOS" THAT IS USED IN THE STEAM MACHINES. YOU GUYS MUST BE EXTREMELY RETARDED TO THINK THAT VALVE CREATED ANY OF THESE.
>inb4 only pretending
PCUCKS WILL NEVER ENJOY STEAM ON A STEAMOS
STEAMOS MASTER RACE
Steam Machine initiative is exciting because it's the first step to a future of Steam Sales on hardware, and the magic phrase 'budget gaming prebuilt'.
PCMR can cry as much as they want, there's really nothing wrong with prebuilts, especially when the price is being driven down to the point they can be replaced rather than upgraded (ok, there are a LOT of problems with this ethically/environmentally, but that's beyond our scope).
VR is about to make specification comparisons confusing and terrifying on a whole new level, the availability of 'just works' prebuilts will be more relevant and necessary than you might imagine. and meanwhile it's still a PC.
I hope Steam loses alot of money from this. They are stupid.
The most fucked up part of all this is NeoGAF/reddit and other cancer sites applaud it, and any slight negative opinion is quickly silenced/downvoted.
>implying those temps are bad
>implying I didn't include monitors in the price
>card is specced to way above 82C
>after running furmark 3 times
>doesn't include monitors even though they are part of the pc
SteamOS operates on the basis of streaming games from your powerful PC in your bedroom or whatever to the Steam Machine in your living room, right?
Do you really need a fucking $500 PC to stream the games? All of the intensive processing would be done on your main PC, right?
>Calls others stupid
>Thinks cards running at 80 degrees is ok ever
>I paid $1500 for my PC including $25 keyboard, $40mouse, $200 monitor and $100 headset.
Congratulations. I spent $650 on monitors, $100 on a keyboard, and $50 on a mouse, you have no excuse for not knowing how to add and compare prices.
>buys from a company that purposefully cucks him
>doesn't even remember the 400 or 500 series
>actually mentions housefires
Demand is too high. You're better off grabbing parts in july/august, when demand is in the shitter. Take a month or so to shop for the parts, pricing around averages.
That monday is good for finding that ONE piece of hardware you've been meaning to get as an upgrade, but building an entire machine it's usually shit.
>I bought a 980 and I don't have to deal with 82 degrees of shitty drivers.
Did you buy two? Are you comparing two cards in crossfire to a single card setup?
>900 series good
960 is pointless, 970 is a load of shit, and the 980 is overpriced for what it is. Congratulations on wasting your money.
They invested so much in OpenGL to get rid of DirectX, of course they are going to do something to get devs to use OpenGL instead of DirectX, that's why they are pushing linux. Are you retarded?
