When is FROMsoft going to stop making demons souls over and over again and make another armored core?
The last one came out in late 2013.
Miyazaki's most recent statement from an interview is that he thinks of dark fantasy and mecha as From's two staples and that he wouldn't mind doing another one. Plus he doesn't hate it, no idea why people think this.
There, now be patient.
>When is FROMsoft going to stop making demons souls over and over again and make another armored core?
When people stop buying them.
Also the most recent installments of AC weren't that great, so don't expect anything even if it happens.
I have Last raven and another armored core game that actally came with to of them. Cant remember what it was called atm because i'm out of the house atm.
I really love mechs but i suck ass at AC. How do i git gud?
They did because "online gaming age".
its not a bad thing per se, but they did a fucking mess by watering down all the missions. plus the whole factions thing is really weak sauce.
the main problems of VD are the boring missions and the damage type triangle system.
4 and 4A are the only ones I didn't play
4 was wasn't that great tho
>20 second long missions
man I hated armored core V. went from for answer to V and went from, HIGH SPEED COMBAT AND WHITE GLINT KILL YOURSELF to, I'm a very very very slow robot please use tank treads and four legs XD
I had a lot of fun with V and VD
manly tears actually dominated the territory for a few weeks, at one point every territory had the MSF logo on it
/m/ had a pretty good little company during VD's launch
I still play the japanese VD occasionally
VD not only have twenty seconds long missions, but they're also all the same, and piloting is awkward as fuck. this said by someone that started playing with Another Age, one of the hardest of the series
it was better when they kept the slow paced action in chromehounds as its own separate thing.
From Software literally has too many good ideas and not enough manpower.
Another Century's Episode
so much shit and all they can afford to do is like 1 game at a time which takes years and years.
>We will never get a Gundam One-Year War adaption with an actual storyline baller as fuck gameplay and Char
If I were to buy one armored core game, which one should it be? number 5? for answer? a different one?
almost any ps2 title
VD if you want the most active player base, which is to say barely any player base at all
almost every title features what makes AC good, the autistic levels of customization
balance and combat changes a bit from title to title
If you want from PS3/Xbox360 then pick 4 or 4A.
If you like it more strategic/slow, take ACV
Anyways I would sart with 4, unless you want to play the classic ones just as The Last Raven and stuff.
It's basically like Gundam Extreme vs. + Gundam Build Fighters
most people say start with 3. that's a good one to start with, but i don't think there's anything wrong with going for any ps1-ps2 title except ninebreaker, nexus, and last raven.
ignore formula front
I haven't researched or read up on it at all
I just remember seeing a gundam teaser
the original teaser literally just had the word gundam in it and rx78-2's head
tried to look it up and got a new teaser I haven't seen before
>except ninebreaker, nexus, and last raven.
>nexus, and last raven.
Last Raven is easily the best one. Best of both worlds in terms of control and challenge. A true final hurrah for the series and a love letter to hardcore fans.
>Armored Core series returns to 4's speed/maneuverability
>Far, far, far future setting where humanity has become interstellar
>Location-specific targeting and damage, each part has its own HP/armor and can be disabled
>Tuning system allows rerouting power to focus on targeting, damage types, handling, etc.
>Incorporates some space combat scenarios with 360 degree combat+Newtonian phyiscs on quickboost mechanics
>Megacorp CEO minigame run like one of those shitty timed mobile games where you collect resources and built shit but can also hire out people playing the main game to run sorties against your rivals, these missions form a dynamic campaign
>5v5 eSports arena matches/teams with real money betting
>Player-controlled arms forts with multiple crew stations
Released on PC with a Steel Battalion-esque proprietary controller and VR support
There are men who dare to dream of a better future even in the face of a hostile world, my friend. If I win the lottery, I'll hire them to make it. Nobody except me will buy it, but it'll exist and that's all that matters.
AC: Nexus was the pinnacle of AC
>Game full of missions, arenas and shitloads of parts
>3 hangar bays
>Great sleek graphics
>Strong and steady framerates
>Introduction of tuning to further the marriage between your mechafetish and autism
>After possibly 100+ hours of dicking around in the game...
>IT'S ANOTHER FUCKING DVD
>Full of artwork, music, movies and re-done missions from all other ACs before it
>tfw AC will never pick up from 4 answer
>tfw ACs in space will never happen
>hey guys we want to make a story-driven single player mech simulator
They did it because otherwise they wouldn't get a publisher. Armored Core has been around for 2 decades now and sales and reviews are usually shit.
>if you're not brand loyal and like V/VD even if its possibly the worst AC up to date you're a casual
>armored core players are most of the times into the series since PS2 games
you guys are just faggots. if there's someone that can be a casual is the people sticking to the last installment just because there's a vague online activity, when the game itself is definitely below average in design
I'm curious to know what makes you say so, apart pvp
because it works, I mean, not that its good
Haven't played Last Raven, but I should. ACs from Nexus and earlier have never disappointed me. If there's a game sorely needing a remaster for the PS3 or an updated PC release, it's NExus. Holy shit, that metric fuckton of content. I still can't believe it after all these years.
And then when I got my PS3, eager to continue my obsession with tinkering and making ACs... I played $A and wow, it's fucking nothing. A handful of missions and when you beat the storylines, ALL PARTS GET AUTOMATICALLY BOUGHT and the arena I beat within an hour of starting the game. Not even any incentive to repeat missions with varied tactics to earn enough money to buy parts, you just get given them.
Traded it in for store credit and haven't tested my luck with V or VD.
I'll fight you m9
I know I'm late, but fuck, imagine how good a TTGL-themed Armored Core would be.
>Taku Iwasaki takes over the soundtrack
>players get different classes of Gunmen
>can combine their Gunmen
>energy swords are replaced with drills
You're joking right? GTA V hype sucked up the entire goddamn gaming community, then you had FIFA that same week. Are you trying to pretend that people don't enjoy more than one genre?
I've met people who love AC and didn't know VD came out.
The Shamblo reminds me of the Chrome Dragon. Both creep me the fuck out.
>V & VD
>getting hard on for multiplayer focus
Yeah, fuck you too.
I know they had to do it, but still, fuck that.
Who gives a fucking shit about KanColle.
The only characters that I would have remotely interest into playing as or waifuing are the Abyssal Fleet but even then I can't. Fucking japs and their shittaste.
Souls games shit money. AC games dont.
besides they are mediocre at best. They are only good because there are sooooo few good mech games. Its a starved genre that licks up scraps when we get em'
>they confirmed ac6 will come after bloodborne
How bout you give me a source on that one, anon.
V is barebones and it was only there for couple of multiplayer sessions and then it died.
VD kinda went back to get some of that singleplayer content but it's still wasn't fully there like in the other games. Multiplayer is still there in some aspect, even if it's on life support. I think the /vg/ threads are still active.
Again it's like a weird mixup of FA with some elements from the older games. Using terrain awareness and slower speed.
Try it just in case seeing how people either prefer VD or FA. I personally liked 4/FA way of rebooting and evolving things and see V/VD as unnecessary but still it's just a personal preference.
>>tfw there will never be an Armored Core X KanColle game
Good. Take your kancer and fuck off.
If they released another multiplayer based one like V/VD, I would rather see it on PC at this point, I can't think about trying to handle clans on PS3/PS4 anymore from how much of a fucking mess clan battles was to set up.
>Implying it wouldnt be goty and sell much more than any other AC game
you're not wrong, unfortunately
strike suit zero wasn't bad, but it was more of a space combat game
hawken and perpetuum were pretty big letdowns
haven't played nimbus yet, wouldn't buy an early access game
there's a couple cybernator clones which are fun, a couple shmups (gunhound ex / gigantic army / astebreed )
mecha ace is a goddamn VN that could have been made in excel
Lets assume Bloodborne sells like hot cakes, do you guys think there is a chance that FromSoftware would use the money to make their dream AC and publish it on their own?
I can't imagine any publisher financing another AC after the failure that V/VD was
You guys are my niggers
I don't give a shit what hoops need to be jumped, make another chromehounds.
You know, I never felt like I was playing AC 'right'
I felt like they wanted me to build a speed-machine that would tear across the skies
I always went for the biggest, heaviest fucker I could make.
>Armored Core will never come to PC
>most souls faggots aren't even aware of AC's existence
There's such a huge absence of good mech(a) games on the market now that if FROM put some effort into a new AC game, it would undoubtedly do well, especially if they put it up on Steam
>mfw some servers would still be around had it received a PC port
Every setup is situational.
Except double shell rifle, medium weight with EO setup. That shit can solo every mission.
I'll try it if I find it on bargain. I won't make a real effort in getting it since I'm not that eager to risk being burned by it again.
Just want a nice PS3 version of Nexus since muh toaster can't emulate for shit and my Ps2 is on its last legs.
>From Software will never make a unique 2 player AC game inspired by Top Gun where you play as rival ace mech pilots with a friend in asymmetric co-op missions
>You will never train with a bro to be the best of the best, tuning your mechs during off times
>You will never experience the shock of betrayal when the game shifts to a versus mode halfway through when you're both hired by rival factions
>There will never be a dynamic storyline based on the victory record of each player
>From doesn't have enough money to hire Kenny Loggins to do a remix of Danger Zone
Why even live.
I soloed the entire arena in almost every game I played with a tank legged heavy mofo. Dual wielding Karasawa and them energy consumption laser cannons you get as a shoulder unit.
Literally useless for any mission since it can barely move but in the arena couple of those shots while standing still and they all went down like flies. Essential to have those extensions where they refill your energy though.
I hate critics.
How the fuck can you not like going mach 3 while taking out fuck off huge arms forts?
That spirit of motherwill mission was fucking amazing and don't anyone dare say otherwise
Luckily there seems to be a trend among many sites that review scores are going away
Hopefully if it continues, metacritic's role will be diminished to a point where no one gives a shit
>From will never use Souls dosh to make a new LK game
When is FROMsoft going to stop making demons souls over and over again and make another Tenchu?
Source? Sound like damage control because his new owner Kadokawa ONLY does moe things.
The normalfags tears will be delicious. I also want a new Armored Core but both that and the Souls might be dead because no one know what Kadokawa plan to do with From. I think they already announced a new RPG but since it has anime style key art no one in west gave any fucks about it.
I remember in Master of Arena, I created a Gundam Wing custom list. There was a how-to on Gamefaqs (probably still there) on how to build the GW Gundams so I set out to do that while also modifying their AI with how they behave in the anime.
I couldn't fucking beat the first one, Tallgeese, cause he behaved TOO MUCH LIKE HIS ANIME COUNTERPART (superfast airborne artillery with a shoulder-fired grenade launcher).
I had to actually choose the parking lot arena to be able to even get a lock-on the fucker, due to a low ceiling.
>Somebody else likes nine breaker
Mah Eternal Nigga
AC was the COD of mech games. There was a period when it had a yearly release schedule. ACfags should be ashamed to even ask for a new one so soon as there were more 7th gen AC games than Soul titles. Only games From should consider making is a new Tenchu or King's Field.
ACFA with better melee system and less stiff mechs
They should keep ACV's mech size.
They should take notes of the Souls and make the game singleplayer focused again, because it's unplayable as a multi focused game due to low number of players anyway, and total shit to boot.
>From should consider making is a new Tenchu or King's Field.
From has never actually made a Tenchu game just published them and isn't Dark Souls basically a 3rd person successor to King's Field?
>IGN/every press outlet talk about From Software to hype up Bloodborne
>Talk about their others works such as King's Field, Otogi and Tenchu
>Skillfully evade any and all mentions of Armored Core and other mecha games
Look forword to see them saying Souls/Bloodborne was never good anyway as soon From start working on Kancolle.
Miyazaki himself mentioned it. Like it or not, From is owned by Kadokawa now. They won't make a Kancolle game obviously, that's mostly a joke, but whatever they'll do will looks like it.
I remember getting Nexus a long time ago, but always hated Armored Core for how hard it is/felt to me.
>Get wrecked in every match
>switch up equipment and parts a ton
>can't finish a mission without fucking up something
I still kept trying though, because I like the story, being a mercenary, and I only watch /m/.
I made it to the end, but Nineball wrecked my ass perfectly, and I gave up.
I've always felt like a complete loser playing AC, and I've always wanted to ask how to git gud, but the few times I've asked, the fanbase gets really hostile.
I got Dark Souls about two weeks ago, and I think it's leagues easier than AC
Same with me, and I'm an AC veteran. I would spend ages tweaking ACs and going full Mechanic on them but when it comes to actually playing the game, I was always pretty fucking shit. I frequently had to rely on a heavy killdozer AC loaded with stupidly OP weapons to get by many spots.
I simply cannot move and aim at the same time, especially with most of the enemies being fast and airborne. I would think Mouse and Keyboard would seriously make AC combat fun as hell.
I started with LR, got my ass ravaged by Bolt couple of times and then ragequit for like a year.
When I came back I went into it with patience and calmness. I was beating Evangel and Pulverizers with only laser hand units, OB and booster enhancers in no time. You just need to get into the control scheme and find setups that work for you. Also, adapt to your enemies and missions.
After that I went over Nexus and NB but when I started playing 3/SL I got shitfaced since I got used to analog control scheme. It threw me off at first but once you get used to it it's pretty simple too.
> I would spend ages tweaking ACs and going full Mechanic on them but when it comes to actually playing the game, I was always pretty fucking shit
Holy shit this.
I spent 40mins just messing around with all the parts and colors
>I simply cannot move and aim at the same time, especially with most of the enemies being fast and airborne
I have trouble hitting most of the time, and waste precious resources. I hated most of the flying enemies.
Didn't Verdict Day confirm that the V universe was the far future of For Answer, what with J and White Glint and all? I could be wrong I just swear that that happened.
40 minutes? Man, I'd spoend entire afternoons just writing down stats, comparing parts and doing performance and battle tests, like I'm some workaholic engineer in the hangar. Funnest part of AC, bar none. All dem stats, nigguh!
Are there people online on Verdict day? I only have 5.
It mostly getting the AC to higher levels I think
I'll mess around with combinations and try to go for something that emphasizes speed and offense. I got certain areas to peak, but it doesn't feel like I've made any progress.
Sometimes I think the AC turns too slow or I have trouble locking on to enemies trying to use back missles and the like. I end up spraying bullets with moderate to little success. I also tend to favor bullets to lasers because the AC overheats too quickly as it is.
I know I probably sound like a complete moron, but yeah.
I beat Evangel twice because he got stuck in the wall
What's wrong anon?
I'm impressed that you started the series with LR and managed to get through it. It was pretty clearly aimed at veterans of the series with its complexity and sheer difficulty. Even some of the first few missions are fairly demanding, and some of the possible final missions are just absurd.
They're a product of the past now, but I keep holding hope that they'll rise again.
Off the top of my head, there are some new Gundam games coming out and Cross Ange has a game coming to Vita
NCSoft makes something called "Project HON", but so far all they released was cinematic trailer (hinting that it did contain parts of gameplay, but very unlikely), they screwed enough by killing Exteel and any fans attempt to create unofficial sequel and its bloody NCSoft!
No idea about this Nimbus, since all gameplay videos I saw suggest pretty much full aerial combat, something closer to jet fights than mecha.
Is it just the AC fights your having trouble with? A lot of it is situational. If you're going after a lot of fast moving airborne MTs, you want missiles or a gun that shoots high velocity ammo. Generally you want to be at the same altitude and as the airborne targets and in front or behind the direction they're moving when using bullets or lasers, so you would need a build with decent flight time.
Sounds like a plan. I kept changing parts to get a better sustaining boost time. Mild Success
The AC fights are 50/50. Some are balls hard, while others die in seconds.
I remember some guy who had 18th rank. ( a browish tank with radar-jamming), and I killed him in 26 seconds flat
>Weebshit because it has mecha
It was way back and I was borderline retarded. I had to choose to get either Nexus, NB or LR.
Went with LR because I thought it's the best one for the wrong reason. My logic was newest = most perfected. I was new to the series.
I went trough arena with ease using a cheap tank legged AC with stationary fire "strategy". I also grinded couple of times the easiest route (damaged Jack-O) and then went to tri Leviathan and normal Leviathan endings. After that was a breeze with missile massacring the Pulverizers and double shelling Zinaida.
After I got good and got that last raven emblem by defeating every boss AC I went to play NB and Nexus and then the others. One of these days I need to get back to LR to fight that ultimate Archangel pulverizer secret boss. I didn't even knew it existed.
Since we have AC thread - whats the best setup for controls in PSP remakes?
I mean, I have to admit that I never managed to defeat last VR arena opponent. No idea how he was in PS2 version, but on PSP he was full aerial and aimed like with mouse. If I would like to try again, I kinda want to be better prepared.
>4 simplified too much things and turned game into full animuu.
AC4 suffered from overpowered boosters, the game-mechanics were fine and in my opinion superior to the PS2 games.
It would have been a 10/10 game if FromSoft had just cut down the booster output to 1/4 and spend more time on the maps.
Yep. It's in dev hell. Pity, it looks amazing.
They announced multiplayer deathmatches, coop survival, playing as the BETA and even escorting the Susanovo. They even tweeted the model.
It only leaves PC then. Which is kind weird, playing PSP game on PC, when you already have PSP itself.
You mean I could plug in some controller (bought my first one month ago) and emulator would allow me to use it?
>emulator would allow me to use it?
Yeah, just go to settings/control/control mapping. PPSSPP is godlike.
I'm not sure how well AC games emulate but I never had the problem with PPSSPP. Even MGS Peacewalkers runs in 60fps 1080 with multiplayer and that game had a locked fps on the original psp.
Armored Core games are great, but out dated for todays audience, its mecha are too big in constrast to surrounding thus people don't tend to have a felling that it could be reality in future even for slightest...
I still play VD every day nigga. I love the whole team based game style but I would like them to return to their older style games. (FA preferably)
I'd really like VD to come out on Steam too. Somebody should start a petition for that and shill it to death to get some notice.
Also I want to see an Armored Core collection with updated graphics and trophies.
Get MH 3rd because it works only with HD ps3 patch and it also has English patch. Runs great even on toasters.
There are three actually. I got the latest one for some random reason. You pick three of the OC characters and roll with it, you get to choose which universe/timeline you play in. It's great but they should really just keep the maps into space because ground bases look ugly. It's all in Nip but you can figure it out.
Double shell rifles with extend orbits combined with a narrow ECM because the bitch just won't touch the ground and she will go down like a brick. Also jumping whenever you see the blue light charge up is advisable.
I tried that too. Always ran outta ammo though so I had to ditch EO for inside storage for guns. It kinda works but it's still way harder with that setup.
Look, I love the concept but not the gameplay. Mecha games are all about piloting your giant ass robot, going sanic fast and unloading all your dakka on whatever fool gets in your way. SRW is turn based, get the fuck out of here with that noise.
I know but those are usually heavy cores and I need my energy to fly my ass to safety.
The only time I used EO energy core is with my AC designed to kill off Pulverizers and Leviathans, that is the one with Jack-O's missile back weapons and missile arms. Regenerating ammo came in handy then.
AC sales are always low because it's a niche game. VDs sales were especially bad because for some reason From Software thought it would be a good idea to try this online team-campaign thing again after everyone hated it in ACV.
Look man, I just like going really fast and hitting real fucking hard. Fast and Hard.
I just want to deck out my AC so I can boost around fucking forever and cause unwarranted destruction.
Not that anon but if you like the concept of multiverse mecha banding together to stop some OC enemies but still want that 2sanik4u movement and combat then try Another Century's Episodes.
2 and 3 to be precise. Portable one is alright too.
But he directed 4, fucked it up and then fixed everything he did wrong in For Answer, Anon.
That's not what he was talking about but speaking about anime there was going to be an Armored Core anime but it got cancelled.
However, recently there has been news of it being revived. The only source I have been able to find is from the wiki though and that doesn't offer a proper source itself.
I like imagining my raven/lynx as a qt3 animu gurl
Cute animu grills safely encased in fuckhuge manly mecha and wrecking shit is the best fetish.
PS4 would really be their only option. AC games aren't PC, nobody plays it on Xbox, and lel Nintendo.
They could do it on the PS3 again but I'd rather see an AC game on more updated hardware.
And all of those would be system sellers for me.
>Somebody should start a petition for that and shill it to death to get some notice.
Fans asked them about PC release after they ported both DS. Their explanation was basically "lol keyboard" and "control scheme isn't applicable on PC" which is dumb because everybody played DS with a pad on the PC because that's an option.
They probably just don't care enough.
And make stages not be over in 15 seconds.
And made a half-decent story out of the buildup of the first.
And had much, much more badass shit. Like the Arms Fort fights or the White Glint fight, the destruction path as a whole, etc.
There's also much more content in it, the multiplayer was pretty fun, and overall wasn't a bad game, unlike 4.
4 was trash, but it was incredibly experimental. 4A is when more or less they got their shit together.
4A is a legit good AC game, even if it's different since you fly around and missile spam like it was Macross or some shit like that, but it was pretty fucking fun regardless.
>Dismissing Last Raven like that
Go fuck yourself.
The 3 spinoffs, I mean. I don't give enough of a shit to remember the stupid names like Nine Breaker and Last Raven.
4A is just as bad as 4. Overboost was a mistake only saved by its unwieldiness in the PS2 titles.
Flying and missile spam were never the focus points of AC. The guy destroyed the fucking series because he wanted to make a totally different game. Just let him churn out a million Souls clones, don't let him near robot games when he doesn't have a fucking clue.
Armored Core 2 was my first one, I fucking loved that game. Then 3 came out and I played the shit out of that one too. Silent Line made me cum over and over again for years. After I played Last Raven I knew I could die happily.
I don't know. Their last tweet was like in January with them just apologizing.
>re-inventing a series that didn't need re-inventing
>How is that bad or ruining the series?
AC had a nice little niche carved out for itself. It wasn't ZOE, it wasn't Virtual-On, it wasn't MechWarrior. Miyazaki changed all that.
You wouldn't take Quake 3 and turn it into a gritty realistic CoD clone where you can carry 2 guns and move at the speed of slow. Fast robots are a downgrade, they reduce complexity and make it all about pretty graphics.
You were boosting all the fucking time anyway. You just hit stupid retard speeds with more boost.
It's been fucking years, they had a million different subtitles.
>going fast reduces complexity
>when its almost the same game, just sped up
Naw m8, you're just not a newtype
I used to really really hope there'd be an Armored Core game where you managed your own faction of ravens and crept up to sieze power and slowly conqured the world while trying to evade the notice of the omnipowerful corporations while you solidified your forces and mercs to finally move against them.
But now I can't imagine any AC game where you see more of another raven than their AC and a logo and it wouldn't turn out to be full of anime teenagers.
>Miyazaki changed all that.
By making it faster?
Come on the first three AC games were kinda fast compared to mech games such as Mechwarrior at the time.
Then AC2 happened and slowed it down some then tried reaching a happy medium with the AC3 games.
And come on AC4 and FA still had customization you know the claim to fame that AC had over most other Mecha games?
>removed need for running
>everyone can use back weapons
>less leg parts
>water isn't a hazard anymore
>missions can't be a close quarter obstacle course forcing you to utilize every function of your robot
>missions can't be a close quarter obstacle course forcing you to utilize every function of your robot
Every single one of those missions was shit and you know it, unless you enjoy the camera getting stuck behind walls.
>see AC thread
>it's another war between the different entries
Goddammit, as if FROM seemingly forgetting about AC isn't bad enough.
Yeah, same here, though I'd include Another Century's Episode too
That mangaka literally has no idea how to play AC
>Overboosting WHILE firing KARASAWA
I can hear the the energy meter beeping a mile away
I'm kind of surprised to how well ACV sold in Japan.
>PS2 2000-08-03 553 Armored Core 2 From Software 6800 205,107

I was expecting a continuous decline like with other gaming IPs in Japan, but with these sales, it's possible that they'll continue the series. Probably not though.
I have more of a problem with the head designs in all of the armored core games.
You could also play Another Century Episode, it has the same a appeal of SRW but is action, it was also made by From until they completely fucked up with the PS3 one and killed the franchise
That final level is pretty insane. It's also
the canon ending
I want them to make electronic tracks again.
>Not doing hard mode that has the 4 ACs + your operator coming to fuck you up with them.
Now I'm not blaming one person and I have no problem with the speed, but AC4 and beyond games are fundamentally unbalanced, and not just 'changed'. There's a clear schism in the design that boarders on contempt for the single player game.
No consideration seems to have been made to weapon balance with ammo capacity as a factor. Radar and FCS are now one unit. And other changes either lateral or trivial to the construction of an AC most equipment into a series of stats. There's also been a drastic dropoff in the variation of MTs, and that can't have helped the confusion Bandai had localizing those as "AC"s too. The games didn't engineer missions where radically different ACs would be optimum. By extension the variety of missions tanked ridiculously. You're not defending a complex with a specific prototype you need to safeguard. You're not under a timer to do as much damage as possible. You're not defending an air convoy from assault having to leap between airships to recharge. There's no bioweapons that require special equipment. There's no facilities that have latent heat that you need to watch out for. You're never trying to retake a facility and told not to damage anything but the intruders. And there's like 2 facilities in the total franchise since then.
I liked Armored Core games as a challenge to both my engineering and piloting skills. But that's been very reduced by the new ones. I'm not saying every game has to have the same size or movement restrictions the PS1 and PS2 games had. But with all of the possibilities increased agility and rendering ability had.. for the missions to have such a large swath of it boils down to "Kill the 18 things you see... Mission Accomplished" is just fucking sad.
>Not S ranking said mission without cheesing the hell out of it.
At this point I would just like a "HD" release of AC 1-3 with updated controls and maybe a better translation and audio.
I never got to play the AC3 series because ps2 died before I could growing up.
But anon all three endings lead to
cradles falling because they are a bandaid solutionand mass kojima particle radiationso all endings are "canon".
I still think Old King ending is the best though, transitions well with the fact no one knows shit about the 4/FA time period and what kojima partcles are.
While I love the everliving fuck of that ending all of them are "canon" in a way. It's left ambiguous because V/VD is set in so distant future it doesn't even matter anymore. It all went to shit no matter which side you chose.
Not him but everyone needs to experience the red hot Nineball dicking.
Check my 9.
I always recommend starting from just Armored Core, the series gets more streamlined for the better up until AC 4 which is a huge departure. And its easier to start with the shit controls instead of coming back to it later.
Plus I must share the pain of Destroy Floating Mines to all. Double NineballDicking.
Before jumping to another series they should at least develop Dark Souls 3. Leaving the Souls fanbase with Bloodborne as an exclusive for the next years would be one hell of a dickish move.
The only thing I want is 4A-2 (continued from the ORCA route) with more varied, colorful environments and a better melee system and some less depressing menu music (not that it wasn't good but holy fuck sitting there for like ten minutes customizing my NEXT was fucking grating), and MAYBE a slightly less apocalyptic story. Maybe a VD foreshadowing that can be split into a non-canon alternate universe where you ACTUALLY go to space, depending on the player's actions. Not necessarily bright or cheery, just hype.
That was some hype shit but I could never beat it. Had to resort to cheesing the fight behind the sea wall with the assault armor cannons.
>The only thing I want is 4A-2 (continued from the ORCA route)

Nooo. Everything needs to remain bleak and depressing. It's traditional by now and it works best.
Maybe not be as hopeless like it was in VD but still pretty downer setting is in order.
apocalyptic =/= bleak.
Would it fucking be all right if the general public were NOT suspended in the upper atmosphere and could live on the surface under a few stable governments and we could go to space and go to Mars and Europa or Ceres?
Y'know it could be like AC3. That wasn't apocalyptic and it worked just fine. It even had a really happy ending. The games just need the right mix of happy and sad. I'd like another AC3 ending with the AC4 game.
Yeah but 3/SL was focused on AI bollocks and that's boring.
I like it when the general populace are all dependent on the ongoing war with real factions all harboring different ideologies while remaining morally gray about it. Like most real robot genre stories.
Ending to AC4 had a great tone and message https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlGCvq5Rqj4. The whole storyline of Nexus/LR was depressing in the right and best possible way as well.
I'm not here for empowering, super robot type cliches.
