People will get hype
People will get robbed
People will move on/wait for this shitpile to be fixed after a year.
Waiting for this is like anticipating a massive hurricane. How many of you still plan on getting this despite EA?
I had high hopes for Battlefield 3 after BC2 on PC.
And then DICE shat in my mouth and raped me in the ass.
Battlefield 3 was the last EA product I've ever bought, not going back.
I pay no fucking attention to the developer or publisher
All I care about is if the game is good or not
A shitty dev/publisher can turn out a good game, while a good dev/publisher can turn out a bad game
So, I'll simply wait and see. Pirate it when it comes out, and if it's decent, buy it
>Supporting the shitpile that is Ep7
>Supporting Day -1 aggressive DLC pack plans
Even if it's a decent (it sure as hell won't be good since they already confirmed they're confined to post Ep6-Ep7 time period only and there will be no third person) you should avoid buying it just to not support that jew scheme.
pay attention, it might be a benefit
>friendly reminder that there is evidence that EA used Origin as a botnet to sign a petition in support of themselves
>We don't even have any real gameplay details to go on
How does it feel to be a retard?
They confirmed plenty of stuff already.
>First person only
>Rebels and Empire only
>Post Ep6 era, will tie in to Episode 7
>Aggressive DLC plan
People who support EA (and Activision with CoD and WoW) are like meth addicts.
They know it's bad and they still do it because they can't control themselves.
Alternatively if you think that analogy is too painful, they're like beaten wives. Constantly being abused and still coming back for more beating.
They said it doesn't fit their design philosophies. Also they went out of their way to say that this isn't Battlefront 3, rather it's a complete reboot with DICE's vision for the franchise since they don't like the originals.
just play planetside 2 instead; it's a buggy unoptimized mess but at least it's free
It's the most bitter-sweet I probably felt about anything gaming ever. I always wanted a new Battlefront game like everyone on this planet but ti's fucking EA. How do I cope, guys?
why would people get hyped for the EA one when DICE (i think) are releasing a proper one this year?
EA did this with Cities Skylines too. They have corporate spies that catch wind of other upcoming titles. If there's anything that they consider normally "EA's Jurisdiction" (ie: battlefield games, maxis and bullfrog games) they quickly rush out an empy, DLC-packed ripoff of a shitheap to beat the other company to the punch.
Same will happen with EA's Battlefront this year as Simcity. Hardcore fans will be extremely hyped only to have their dreams crushed by a massive stinking pile of shit and the only people that eat it up will be streamers/youtubers who will claim that the game is good.
Then DICE can do like Cities... take all the time they want to finish their game and learn from EA's mistakes to make sure that their release is smooth, awesome and not jewish.
Bad Company 2 was my first actual entry into Battlefield, the most I played of Battlefield 2 and 2142 was when
my dad would take me to Best Buy on the weekends. When they had those gaming PC/laptop setups. Didn't get a gaming PC until I built one almost 3 years ago.
The nostalgia I had for BF2/2142 and my liking of BC2 was the only reason I picked up BF3. They really made it out to be a BF2 sequel from the hype, but on release but deceived everyone when it turned out to just be BC3. That and I got the premium edition for only $30. I had my fun with it but I was let down over the premium/DLC shit they pulled and the dogshit vanilla maps.
But that was, and will be the last time I gave EA my money.
there's a different mob making a battlefront game. obviously they couldn't call it battlefront cuz EA would crack a shit.
I know Cities is a Paradox game. They were working on it beore SC2013 came out. EA didnt want someone else making a city builder and rushed out 2013 which flopped.
Don't you fucking insult Bad Company by comparing Battlefield 3 to it.
BF3 was a complete shitpile compared to BC2.
>bigger maps but everything confined in the centers
>environmental destruction almost completely removed/severely reduced
>a fuckton of DLC
>pretty bad maps in general
>remakes of original maps like Wake Island and Karkand completely butchered
>the worst hit detection known to man
I can go on like this forever.
I don't get as to why the same people that bitch about EA, are willing to give them a fuckton of money after they have raped every single franchise that they own.
Giving them money fuels EA to keep on making shittier releases each year. Do you really want to do that to the Battlefront games, like they did with everything else that they own?
>Gonna be shit
I can't understand why people can't recognize that its going to be behind ESB and NH as the best Star Wars films both cinematically and culturally. Go back to Phantom Menace Skyguy
>If you've already made your decision as to whether or not you want this, you're an idiot.
I don't even need to go any further, but since YOU are actually the idiot, I will attempt to enlighten you.
>BF4's year long broken mess
>Battlefield Hardline's imminent shitstorm. Game can't even get a solid 60fps at 900p on PS4.
I can't believe you have hope for this game. How old are you? 16-17?
Dude you're too stoned, go back to bed. Skylines development started months after the release of SimCity reboot, as a direct result of SimCity reboot being shit and Paradox trying to seize the opportunity.
Nobody else is making a Battlefront game because Disney gave EA a 10 year long monopoly on console and PC Star Wars releases in exchange for EA funding and advertising all the games on their own.
The Star Trek reboots are absolutely awful, and from what I saw of Ep7 of all the set leaks and the trailer I'm convinced it's going to be shit.
Jar Jar Abrams is an awful director and writer and you're fucking naive.
You're precisely the modern Star Wars audience that Disney wants, they know that Star Wars is sadly "too big too fail" and that even if they made lowest bottom of the barrel trash it would still be a bestseller, see Prequels.
BF4 is still broken, it's just sort of playable now, earlier it was flat out unplayable.
Hardline is broken even harder than BF4 was if beta is anything to go by (and they update it on weekly basis)
>Don't you fucking insult Bad Company by comparing Battlefield 3 to it.
I didn't. I said I enjoyed BC2, but the Bad Company series wasn't comparable to BF2 or 2142 because the Bad Company series was originally designed for consoles after Modern Combat.
BF3 was advertised and supposed to be a successor to BF2. What we got was a consolized version at its core, and funny enough BC2 still remained a far better game that BF3 ever was.
Hardline came out already?
Christ, if EA/DICE plans on releasing Battlefront this year this could damage consumer confidence amongst any remotely interested in Battlefront.
Or not, and the game will sell 2 million+ copies and the same retards will get fucked once again.
Why don't you just go play First Strike then?
It's a Star Wars total conversion for 2142.
It even has space battles.
They have already finished and fully polished the multiplayer part of it, and are currently working on single player campaign.
Beta came out already yes, it's been out for months and they plan on keeping it active all the way to release. Beta has the entire multiplayer part of the game so yeah. And it's complete shit, MUCH worse than BF4 on release.
Oh, yeah I know that BC2 was casualized Battlefield, but ironically enough, BF3 was even more consolized and casualized than BC2 was, which is why it was such a disappointment.
>this is why EA is still in business
>at the ready to rape and defile Battlefront and LucasArts' corpse
>pirating a multiplayer/browser supported game
I can guarantee you that it will sell gorillion and be a bestseller even if it's the worst thing under the sun because it has Star Wars brand on it.
Star Wars is simply too big to fail, Disney knows it, EA knows it and they will exploit it to the max.
They are going to milk this cow dry and ride this horse all the way into the fucking ground.
In 20 years Star Wars will be a withered husk of it's former self and will be cast away after it can no longer be used to shit out new releases every 6 months (Disney plans on having at least 1 new movie per year but they want to move to 2 movies per year).
We already are getting X-Wing reboot (reboot of the books in form of movies) next year, starring all-female X-Wing squadron, taking on the Imperial patriarchy.
If it's like BF3/BF4, we will be able to pirate the single player component.
Also there are pirate servers for BC2 now, as well as mods, since people figured out how to mod Frostbite.
Even CISquisition has a ton of mods already.
I might buy it if enough of my friends get interested. So far none of them (and they're pretty hardcore SW fans) even heard of it.
Overall it's going to be a modern EA shooter. Horribad gameplay on shitty maps, DLC out of the ass and premium (so you can buy features other games have out of the box for extra 40 bucks).
Not that there's anything inherently wrong with it, EA does it as long as people buy it.
>Not that there's anything inherently wrong with it, EA does it as long as people buy it.
EA isn't the problem. Consumers are.
If people weren't willing to throw their money away at the first sight of shit with certain logo on it, then we wouldn't be getting all those shit games every year.
It's the consumers that enable all those practices in the first place, that's the beauty and the horror of capitalism.
>MUCH worse than BF4 on release.
Shit, I didn't hear about that. How do they even possibly plan on selling copies if the beta is remaining open until release, and the game is dogshit? Is this Evolve all over again? This doesn't sound like EA.
>but ironically enough, BF3 was even more consolized and casualized than BC2 was
I pretty much just said that but I probably could have worded that better.
cpu limited, rarely get over 40 fps in a large scale battle; that doesn't sound optimized enough to me
i'd also like to leave the game run while tabbed out sometimes without my system resources being affected
but at least isn't EA, and that's where I'm going to keep my gameplay
Battlelog DOES exist you know? And EA DOES plan on using that shit.
This shit makes me sad. I think of the fond memories of hanging out at my friends' house every Friday in elementary school in the early 2000s, and we'd play Galactic Battlefront, the Jedi Knight games, and the Clone Wars on Gamecube. And now, LucasArts has not only declined since then, but died and now Star Wars is being milked by Disney and EA. Two of the biggest cancers in digital entertainment.
Any hope I had for this game (and Star Wars video games in general, for that matter) was completely lost when EA picked up the exclusive right to make Star Wars games.
I would rather see BF3 stay in vaporware hell.
It's also the reason Battlefield/EA-related games haven't had in-game menus since Bad Company 2 in 2010.
Truly the future of online multiplayer. Needless to say I won't be a part of it.
>ea has sole monopoly rights to aaa star wars games
>no competition from any other developer
>will use no fun allowed engine
>dlc for years to tie with the new movies
>if hardline is any indicator the "full game" will be over 100 dollarydoos
whoever buys this should exiled to an island and forced to play ET on nintendo 24 hours a day
I don't think you understand how this works eh.
>people still trust EA
>the game will sale and be a success
i don't understand the optimism. forget about EA's business practices. the frostbite engine itself is dicey. you took damage or died in bf3/bf4 vaulting or jumping from low heights. vehicles had wacky mechanics. tanks had no traction on slopes. jeeps and buggies explode when they hit a stump.
Where did they say anything about June?
Where's the source for aggresive dlc from EA? isn't that a quote from a rumour with no source?
>isn't that a quote from a rumour with no source?
yeah its from the makingstarwars.com post. doesnt give any source or back up anything it says and makes A LOT of claims.
It's the kind of classic rumour that is so broad that part of it can come true and they can act like it wasn't wholesale invention
EA has sole rights to star wars games, if you don't think it's going to have numerous DLCs and battlepacks or whatever you're either incredibly naive or just woke up from a coma. It's will be a cash cow for years. Juts look at Hardline, that already has a $100+ dollar version. Just imagine the possibilities when you're selling a game with an already built in fan base of million as well as a new a generation even more million of fans hungry for a new star wars game.
This thread tells me more about /v/ than it does about EA to be honest.
People using the word confirmed as if it has no meaning. Using an unsubstantiated rumor as gospel. Thinking the shitty ET game is on NES.
Terrible. Just terrible.
>m-muh insignificiant factions
>episode 7 tie-in is somehow a bad thing when that movie is the foundation for the future of the entire IP
>continued support over months to keep the game fresh or if you don't want the dlc you
don't have to buy it
>blaming the game for the ps4 being underpowered
there is a difference between saying something is expected and something is confirmed. Some people here don't think that is an important distinction but I think it's about as important as it comes. There is enough plainly incorrect bullshit on /v/ so I'm going to ask people to back up what they say.
