Just getting into PC gaming and fancied revisiting Skyrim (played it on the 360).
What are some of the best mods that should be applied to the game?
I honestly don't agree with that. The fact is, there's enough raw
if unbelievably repetitivecontent that a bit of rebalancing and some added depth with survival mechanics makes it a legitimately solid game. 7.5/10, at least.
I'm biased towards games that give you a lot of freedom anyway.
Some of the mods I use, bro.

Most people who recommend a massive list of mods are elitist faggots, or furry faggots wanting to wank off to a game instead of play it.
The only mods I use are the Unofficial patches and SkyUI because fuck game-breaking glitches and lazy design.
Anything that overhauls too much and you're not playing the same game as everyone else anymore.
I like the social aspect of AAA games, so when you're at the water cooler saying how cool it was to triple backflip and perfectly land your lightsabre into a child's head everyone will think you're "that kid" grown up.
You absolutely have to try out Essential NPCs, it's great, also I really like requiem, because it fills out some of the dungeons massively, I remember a long time ago getting Tend0s skyrim redone, on top, and it made the game really challenging and the combat felt a lot more fun. PCG has a nice article of their top 50 mods, most of which are decent.

Part 2. Tinker around with these and have LOOT tell you best load order
Tech stuff like organizer and Wrye Bash, also script extender. To that, graphics mods, perk revamp (SPERG, SkyRe, PerMa), several noteworthy quests (never take Fight Against Thalmor series, they are shit), SexLab if you're into that shit (highly modular, you.could make fucked up or immersive game, depends on you), maybe weapon amd armour mods. I would post my list, but I'm on the phone now.
Why else would you play AAA games? They're not fun anymore. The majority of them are graphical showcases, and boring, repetitive gameplay, with failed script writers writing the story.
Don't use workshop. It is much easier in the LONG run to use mod organizer. Don't use Nexus mod manager either, it tends on working out better in te long run. Skyrim Gems is really good.
TL:DR Skyrim Gemstone. Mod Organizer, Use Nexus for mods but not their mod manager. Hope this helps!
Because this particular AAA game lets you mod it into playability.
And honestly bethesda games have the ludicrous amount of shit in them as a legitimate selling point; all the content is mediocre but there's a lot of it and even in handhold mode skyrim you can do it in whatever order you like after helgen and not give a shit. Very few games give you that freedom.
>Go to Nexus
>Find something that catches your eye

>Follow the chain back up.
First of all, you should be using Mod Organizer. It has everything you need for casual modding with none of the unfrendliness of Wrye Bash.
Absolute bare minimum is SKSE, SkyUI and unofficial patches.
Graphix minimum is SMIM and a big texture pack. Good ol' HD2K still works. Also Xenius pack for basic NPC improvements.
Gameplay mods are a big thing to tackle. If you want to stick close to vanilla with some all-around improvements, get Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Dragons, Empowered Magic, Morrowloot and Revenge of the Enemies.
>But I want a big overhaul!
You really shouldn't until you at least know what a bashed patch is.
