Why do you guys feel the need to justify what platform you use to play games?
Why are you guys so insecure about the purchase you make you feel the need to defend it and force overs to adopt your way of thinking?
Very few gamers have the money to purchase all platforms. Assuming only just the consoles and pc, you'd still need nearly $2000 cash to purchase all four, and most people can realistically afford 1 or 2.
So you have people that must justifiy their purchase over the alternatives. Its not any more complicated than that.
Jesus fuck. Tried some next gen bullshit at friends house and fucking load times and fps jesus fucking christ.
They should have fucking live aid events for console players.
OP didn't make a wii u version cause he thinks wii u is perfect. He probably has over 20 amiibos.
It's only the pkeks who feel the need to justify their toys while discrediting everyone elses.
Even when the console kids fight amongst themselves, they typically poke fun at each other's games, but they don't try to invalidate the existence of other platforms.
Pkeks on the other hand, shitpost about graphics this, fps that, lol multiplats/kiddy games/resolution etc etc. They are completely cancerous and should have their own containment board, like /pol/.
>This is what consoles actually believe
>pcocks think they're innocent and won't off themselves for the betterment of mankind
Ps4 has the best exclusives and graphics.
60 FPS is placebo and mods are overrated.
I can understand PC being better than the newer console, but it's really stupid to say consoles have always been terrible compared to PC. Especially when PC people argue that you can just emulate console games.
>console versions run at subpar resolution and frame rates
>PC versions are poorly optimized, though you can still run it as poorly as on consoles
if there was no PC:
>console versions run at subpar resolution and frame rates
if we got rid of consoles:
>games are now better optimized
>you can play every game in the industry with just 1 piece of hardware
>said piece of hardware has compatibility with any controller you want
>you get as much as you want to pay for
>can plug it in any display that would work with a videogame
>graphics are not limited by 'generations' anymore (PS360 held the industry for 6~7 years)
And don't get me started on PS4/Xbone hardware being 2011 tech, those consoles are already shitting themselves to run games at 30 fps (usually not even 1080p, by the way)
If it makes you happy, I will never buy a game on PC. If the game I played on PC comes to console, I'll buy it day one, but if not, devs won't get my money. This applies also to multiplatforms I played on PC, I'll always buy console version.
You also forgot:
if we got rid of consoles:
who would pay for games? PC gamers? kek
Stay mad PKeks
Why are you attacking the people who "feel the need to justify what platform they use"?
If anything 9 times out of 10 the issue is that people here simply can't discuss their platform or a game because it's being attacked.
>who would pay for games? PC gamers? kek
proof that completely debunks posters like you is sales numbers, and devs porting games to PC
if games didn't sell on PC they wouldn't get ported
also, games are pirated on the PS360 and PS4 is very easy to abuse the account system to not have to buy the game alone, PS4 has piracy, 3DS has Gateway or Sky3DS or whatever it's called, Vita has been softmodded, WiiU piracy is close, etc etc
>tons of games
Most common reason for not porting is that the game would be better on PC and completely void the reason for people to own a console.
Consoles these days are shitty PCs.
master [remove] chan.org/pc - PC gaming
master [remove] chan.org/c - Console Gaming
Enjoy your autism of choice
PC games are obviously superior tho
lazy/misinformed devs/publishers, nothing more
Sega ported a 6 year old console exclusive to PC and it sold very well, was top selling on Steam for a while, MK9 and Injustice ports, according to Netherrealm Studios got really good money for them too (also games that they refused to release on PC on first instance), MKX was even sold on release on PC along with PS4/Xbone (and what the fuck ever happened to the promised PS360 versions of the game)
Jap devs are starting to release games on PC too now that they're seeing the cash flowing, Tales of Zestiria broke the pre-order bonus tresholds the devs had set in place (and those who bought it will get Tales of Symphonia for free)
in other words, piracy does exist, but it doesn't make PC gaming not-viable
I'll even get a bunch of replies calling me Mordecai Goldbergstein, but I believe devs/publishers have the right of using DRM on their products, but on the other hand, consumers are retarded enough to not-require demos from them, so there's no easy stance to take here
at least PC gaming is always growing, and once you go PC you never go back, so PC winning is inevitable, it'll just take longer
>>games are now better optimized
The only reason why do devs optimize at all is because they have to keep it running on consoles at somewhat nice graphical fidelity. Everyone blames developer if a game is running like shit on a console. On the contrary, if a game doesn't run well on your PC it your fault and should go buy something more powerful.
On the topic of piracy on PC -
The biggest problem me and my friends had back in the day was accessibility. You simply couldn't get games any other way.
Steam solved that for me and my friends and a great many others. It's way fucking easier to just go on steam and buy a game than to pirate it.
>On the contrary, if a game doesn't run well on your PC it your fault and should go buy something more powerful.
this is definetly not what happened with the Arkham Knight port (which really was broken on release), and also you can simply lower your settings to get to a playable framerate
even now they're offering refunds (works on my machine and I 100%'d it so no need to do that for me), and this is a AAA title
or maybe you have some good example in which what you're saying happened?
wasn't pong the first game, made on a computer?
This is flat out false. First off, consoles provide a gauge to pc makers for how much a person is willing to spend on this hobby:
>if 30 million people buy a ps4 for 400, it's not a stretch for a person to spend 6 or 700 for a pc with better performance
also, consoles provide devs with SET hardware they can program for, which guarantees that everyone playing on that hardware will have the same experience.
If pc was the only option for gaming, devs would need to make every game look like WoW so that they can guarantee the maximum amount of people can play it.
With consoles, the graphics bar is increased at a consistent rate, and the only thing a dev has to concern themselves, is getting the game to work on 2 or 3 differwnt types of hardware, vs an infinite amount of combinations on pc.
In short, consoles are a guage for pricing, and FORCE graphics bars to move forward, which is beneficial to pc.
Fuck off retard.
>consumers are retarded enough to not-require demos from them
If you think that the amount of pirates who pirate because there is no demo is actually a big number you are retarded.
that's an interesting point of view
pic related debunks it though, and they can just make games more flexible with the settings (lower res textures, less polygons/particle effects, and so on), and better optimized, and everything you said is worth nothing
but keep namecalling while coming up with false observations (^:
I never implied that people pirate because of that, I'm just saying I'm not that inclined to defending DRM because not every game provides me with a demo (though now Steam has that sweet auto-refund policy, so I think that justifies no demos, at least for games on Steam)
great, now I don't feel guilty about still not having dusted off my Vita
at this point I should probably just give up and buy another PSP and softmod it to run dem sweet emulators on the go with a good screen
if I do that, a week later Vita softmodding will be announced, I know it
>if we got rid of consoles:
Consoles have their place, not everybody is a hardcore gamer like most here.
Many people just want plug and play into their home theater. Some of these people will possibly move on to pc gaming.
>If pc was the only option for gaming, devs would need to make every game look like WoW so that they can guarantee the maximum amount of people can play it.
You forgot that PC means options.
And PC hardware ain't the wild west anymore, and stopped being that quite a few years back. People use AMD, NVIDIA and INTEL. They all use a standard in many different meanings.
The good ol' "hurr durr consoles are better because it's one hardware" is an argument you can literally write down on a piece of paper and shove up your butt.
that's what PCs are nowadays though
>plug in HDMI cable on TV
>plug controller on USB port
>click on steam, install, wait, play
consoles nowadays have
>no native mouse+keyboard support
>nothing that comes close to a specific voip service on PC
>MY ONE GAME THAT ONLY LOOKS GOOD WITH MODS DEBUNKS HOW THE ENTIRE GAMES INDUSTRY FUNCTIONS!!!
you're right about one thing; I WILL keep calling you names, you fuckfaced retard.
Nigger you ignored all of mines, and the post I originally replied to was literally full of conjecture bullshit, so fuck whatever else you have to say. You're just another dumb faggot assed 4chan poster.
>that's what PCs are nowadays though
I honestly don't think many casual gamers know this. Consoles are just easier (or they feel it's easier) for somebody that only plays a few hours a week.
They also bring people into the hobby.
your only point was that consoles are a set bar, and then you went on details about it
>Crysis as an example that, even with that 'bar' set, a PC dev showed how much consoles are lagging behind
>how PC games can have flexible settings, allowing you to run games on weaker hardware (I'd actually pay if Sony let me play Bloodborne at 720p 60fps on the PS4 (though it probably can't reach 60fps even at that resolution))
>better optimization allows for better visuals even on weaker hardware
iirc PC gaming is growing faster than console gaming nowadays, but regardless, those are just my wishes, not what I think will happen
if I was a developer/publisher I'd have my game on every platform to sell more, of course, I'm just saying that the world would be a better place to game in if everyone was on PC, same as the world would be better if nobody pirated games and we had the Steam refund policy in every platform for digital games
You know this post is horseshit, right? Like you are obviously leaving out shit you need to do on pc, while including shit on console that also applies to pc, or shit that consoles don't even need (like kbm support).
But I don't really need to say it, right? You know full well you're shitposting, right?
shake my head to be honest family ;^)
if you really needed to do anything else you'd have detailed that already in your post
well, you don't even know what shitposting means, so it's expected from you
The irony being they you apparently felt the need to justify being "that guy" who takes the neutral ground and thinks he's automatically the superior intellect?
>iirc PC gaming is growing faster than console gaming
That is good for pc gaming, but still for the beginner casual, consoles will always be their first, and cheapest way to game.
Right now if I mentioned pc gaming to my friends, 90% would think of Peggle and Solitaire. Also pretty sure most wouldn't think of pc gaming as something done from their comfy couch playing co-op with friends.
I don't think consoles are going away.
>I don't think consoles are going away.
I just wished they at least were practical like they were pre-gen6, at least then they'd be a different product instead of watered down PCs
Ok, I have you an out senpai
>that's what PCs are nowadays though
>>plug in HDMI cable on TV
>>plug controller on USB port
>>click on steam, install, wait, play
>buy overpriced prebuilt
>build your own rig (inconvinient as fuck to the average consumer)
>if building a rig, you can pay for overpriced parts at the store, or wait for them to sporadically come in the mail (inconvinient as fuck for the average consumer
>>consoles nowadays have
So does pc, but worse, driver updates that may not function for all games
So does a pc, but worse, because the game might be unoptimized and cause more issues ala arkham knight
With free games
>>no native mouse+keyboard support
Which a console doesn't need
>>nothing that comes close to a specific voip service on PC
Which a console doesn't need
Fuck off retard.
And isn't it more logical to be angry on pirates on PC? They should be blamed, because it is their fault that PC is treated like a second class citizen.
Is it fault of consoles that PC has the numbers but it is full of pirates?
It has been shown time and time again that if you make a good game it sells on PC. Or you simply give people a reason to buy your game. This can be achieved in many ways but the most obvious being mods. Supply mod tools to the community and let people be creative instead of having a "10 year plan" with sequels and dlc.
Look at what DayZ did for Arma.
I would also like to add that updating on console is automatic in sleep mode, and requires effectively zero input on behalf of the player, to the point where I only know something updated due to a notification in the corner telling me something happened while I was fucking asleep.
Is there any reason to upgrade past my shitty laptop if I don't like multiplats? I can already play shit like Cities Skylines and KSP on it, and even Overwatch looks like it could run at 60fps. Where are the exclusives that take advantage of the platform's power like Crysis? Give me a reason to upgrade.
>a PC dev showed how much consoles are lagging behind
How did a game which even the top of the line workstations of that time couldn't run on Ultra while the majority of PC players didn't have machines which could run it at a stable framerate show that consoles are lagging behind?
No idea man, reverse searching it just says it is unavailable, sorry anon.
>With free games
I love this meme!
>m+k option isn't a good thing to have!
>voip isn't a good thing to have!
>calling me a retard
>already shitting themselves to run games at 30 fps (usually not even 1080p, by the way)
1080 30 is the most common framerate on PS4, 1080 60 is second most common
Mostly PC kids do it in my experience. I have a social life and play on Ps4. I know xbone people too. None of us talk about our consoles, only games. I used to know a few people that played PC. These faggots talk about graphics, frames, etc. I told them how they liked Bloodborne, they just said they refuse to buy a console.
Seriously do you pkeks even play games for fun? It seems like all they do is bitch about graphics and shit.
shitting themselves = frame drops
also here's an easy to find list
though it is giving clicks to IGN, I should probably pastebin it, but I'm too lazy
>this level of damage control
>PC gaming has a perception, and simplicity issue for many
Another thing is that not many people view pc gaming as "Comfy" as consoles.
Most consoles players, play from a couch, like wireless controllers, enjoy the big screen, and have home theater sound.
I know most of this can be done with a pc gaming rig, but very few people do.
This is another perception thing.
why do console devs even bother lying to their customers about this stuff?
they could release Pitfall on the PS4 and call it Uncharted 5 and Sonyfags would still call it the second coming of jesus christ
Yeah, so whats the problem faggot?
>memes and reaction images after getting btfo
Typical for this board.
what? Are you aware of the word filter newfag?
Spotted the no valid retort so must meme
It's not so much as "justifying" when you're rolling with a PC.
PC gamers want to stop console gamers from fucking themselves and the industry. But unfortunately a lot of console gamers take information as an attack because they don't know any better.
Their machines are becoming slightly more like PCs as time goes on, but there will be no point to them unless they liteerally become PCs. I couldn't bear to return to such a controlled gaming environment.
Everyone in this thread pretty much proved op's point. People are tripping over themselves so their system's name cannot be sullied and by extension their identity isn't sullied. How pathetic.
>game runs at 900p 60fps on PS4, has significant frame drops every time there's moderate action
>game runs at 720p 60fps on xbone, has less frame drops
>game runs at 1440p 144fps on PC, no frame drops with TXAA and eyecandy
>game runs at 4k 60FPS on PC, no frame drops
with eyecandy and 4k textures
I use Xbox because I like the exclusives more, the controller more, and I'm an all around Microsoft fanboy. I'd love to have a gaming PC but it's either too expensive or too much of a hassle to get one that fits my needs.
Not to mention xbone have horrid frame pacing here
>posting ubisoft programming
also that difference in characters on screen
>fallout 4 announces console mods (possibly the first time since UT3)
>gets praised for a feature that people think will make it closer to the PC version
>vanilla is already locked at 30fps without graphical enhancements/variety add-ons
>can't install script extender to refine AI behaviour or change UI layout, and a shit load of other things
>mods need approval through an official channel, denying any content that infringes on copyright or pushes the maturity further than the content that is already in the game
Have fun playing still-practically-vanilla 4.
>>game runs at 1440p 144fps on PC, no frame drops with TXAA and eyecandy
>>game runs at 4k 60FPS on PC, no frame drops with eyecandy and 4k textures
I don't think that less than 2% of Steam users who have displays with higher resolution than 1080p with no mention about their rigs' capabilities of running anything at a high framerate and high graphical fidelity speak about the whole "master race"
We can spend all the day posting cherry picked images.
Okay, Alien was an insane fuck up
how does a game that runs at 100+ fps on equivalent hardware get a console version that is this bad
but seriously the PS4 usually has better image and performance than xbox, there are a few select titles like alien, unity, and RE rev 2 that are fucked enough that xbox wins
>spent 2000 dollars on my computer build.
>its my love. 3 screens.
>Every console fag is jelly when they see my rig.
>Every console fag takes one look at my pc and thinks: "PC is better. no doubt about that."
Once you get older, sustain a job and start making decent money and you live on your own... the console just doesn't do it.
Why do people suddenly think high end exclusives would suddenly materialize if consoles vanished? The most profitable games are shit like LoL and CS:GO, stuff that runs on low end computers. It would make less sense to make graphically demanding games if most people can't even play them.
>LEDs up the ass
good for you, but fuck that build, i'd rather have something that looked like my old pc
Consoles serve a purpose for a specific consumer type. Your post is literally
>WAHH STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE UR RUINING MY FUN!
90% of you niggers don't even buy your games, so why should anyone cater to your entitled faggot asses?
Exactly my dearest son, that's how things work. Only so many people will buy a product because a company tells to do so, some of them also need a reason why. If a company can't provide it by themselves, they pay others to do it for them.
haha I know what you mean. That's not my pc thankfully.. Mine is a hell of a lot less obnoxious. But my 3 screens, the center one is a 40" LCD tv and 2 24 inch screens on the sides with two GTX 770s in it.
>>Every console fag is jelly when they see my rig.
I would be jealous if you, had it set up for comfy couch play and not an office chair, if you used a wireless controller, if you had home theater sound and not a headset, and had it ready for local co-op play.
apply that logic to consoles, and the PS360 has what, 200 million users? and yet they're releasing games for the ~25m userbase and not even a port to the 200m userbaser? really?
Sony did PC exclusives?
>consoles are watered down and restricted PCs
>WAHH STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE UR RUINING MY FUN!
are you using google translate or something?
Yeah I had to explain to another user that that's not my pc. I have only LED lights on the front and back fans (built in, I can't remove it) and they're blue and highly inconspicuous. There is also no stupid glass side paneling to show the internals. It's just black.
I have a comfy couch but I dont use it to play. I have however a very comfy chair that I enjoy sitting on while friends can hang on my super comfy couch. Also I do have a wired controller (dont like wireless. not reliable and requires batteries and I dont like hardware that just suddenly stops working) I do have a home theater 5.1 surround system for my computer, as well as a headset when its just me with my friends talking. otherwise its just the surround. I also have multiple controllers for co-op play in both xbox controllers and n64 controllers + adapters.
I need a PC for work so throwing another €500 into it seemed sensible to have the platform with the most muscle and options.
Then I realized all the platforms are shit. I just had the least shit one.
Alright, officially jealous.
Why do only about 1% of pc gamers have set-ups like this?
but I have a PS4 anon, and a WiiU, and a 3DS
at the very fucking least they should let us play BB 720@60, though I guess the PS4 can't even do that
desudesu bakabaka etc
well for the most part... I feel like PC gamers are more introverted and don't have friends to accommodate. I used to have this shitty twin bed where my friends would sit / set their laptops on and it sucked, and I knew it. So I went on craigslist and found a fancy ass wooden futon couch so I could do a queen sized bed while also having a very comfy couch for friends to come over. Works phenomenally and friends are always comfy. I got a CRT tv behind where I sit for an Atari 2600 and a PS2 to play. Nothing like having a classic CRT tv for your legacy consoles.
Anon, you need to understand the importance of a stable framerate.
Doesn't matter what it's running really (to an extent of course) as long as it's a stable framerate. that webm not only shows framerate that isn't acceptable for fucking any sort of game, but it's dropping constantly.
keep in mind this futon was not really those shitty IKEA futons you find all over the place. But a very expensive solid wood futon with a very heavy feather mattress. Was a pain in the ass to get in the house. But exactly 1000% worth it.
>apply that logic to consoles
But you can't, because they're two different markets. Consoles are solely for playing games, most PC gamers (and I mean in a broad sense) mainly play games like Leauge and Hearthstone. You don't see these types of games because there's no market for it on consoles and it makes tons of money on PC. What makes you think devs will abandon this? How would this sustain AAA games?
>Sony did PC exclusives?
They made Everquest and Planetside
>Every xbox exclusive has a petition because people want to play them in 1080P 60FPS
>Only Bloodborne has a petition on PS4 exclusives
Yeahhhh I don't like anime. I think anime is for kids and spergs. Seeing anime and their storylines only proves to me again and again that it's all the same shit and it's all garbage. I used to love anime between the ages of 13-20 or so... but now I'm 26. Anime blows dick.
apply the logic of
> The most profitable games are shit like LoL and CS:GO, stuff that runs on low end computers. It would make less sense to make graphically demanding games if most people can't even play them.
ports of the latest AAA garbage on the PS360 would sell a shitton because the userbase is gigantic
that's what applying that logic to consoles would be, selling a worse-looking version of the latest games to reach the "I have shit hardware at home" market
It's just hilarious
>Forza Horizon 2: 15,000 signatures
>Driveclub: Not even a petition.
PC gamers will NEVER EVER make a petition for Driveclub
>Getting this mad over being proven that the Wii U hasn't had any multiplats in a year
p.s. im not>>315310590
I thought it would be funny to fuck with you
And it was
Although i don't like anime either
>LOOK WHERE YOU ARE
Ps4 and xbone are abominations, they're wannabe PCs that are mac tier jewish. The monthly fees raise the price well beyond that of a better PC while also keeping the industry back and ensuring that you won't get to play a better version of a game once you've upgraded hardware. PCs come in many form factors and can do anything a console can do.
It is an objective fact that these consoles are superior and not needed anymore. Nintendo and tablets can have the kids who can't afford a PC and games that require hefty power can move onto PC where it can be free of the shackles consoles put on it. There is also no objectively good (for the consumer) reason to keep consumers split between wannabe PC consoles and PC. The consoles are barely cheaper but its like saving 100$ at the cost of ruining the experience for everyone and yourself. Consoles do more harm than good. Many problems PC face can be solved by consoles dying. Lack of coop? consoles being gone would heavily influence developers to develope more couch coop for PC. The list goes on. The massive damage consoles do to gaming as a whole is far too severe for the little amount of money it saves you.
TL:DR consoles don't need to exist and console fags can't come to terms with how incredibly bad of a purchase they've made. They'll continue to pay mid tier PC price for below entry level power for a very long time.
>>games are now better optimized
To be fair. The industry would probably adapt to optimize to the average, not the higher end users.
Perhaps a bit higher than average. But optimization for power users would likely almost always be an afterthought.
You realize there are actual PC exclusives that already exist right? And they are not "forced to all look like WoW"?
If consoles suddenly disappeared overnight, cheaper pre-built PCs would take up the space (which....is ALREADY happening! Shocking!). Also, if by "PC makers" you mean "GPU makers," then your point is even more retarded because the GPUs in the consoles are made by the exact company that makes their more powerful PC counterparts.
Because most of /v/ and the internet in general are ignorant faggots that should find other hobbies.
PC games in general are needed because it's an open platform where new creators can emerge. However, the amount of profits they can get is tenfold on consoles (depending on the game of course).
The problem/argument that everyone bitches about but no one knows about, is that a game made for consoles and ported to PC is usually not well optimized for the hundreds of different hardware people have. With consoles you have to code for a specific hardware and it will guarantee that everyone will have the same experience. It's not the case with PC. Not to mention the majority of PC gamers don't have good hardware to begin with.
The whole point of consoles was created for those who wanted gaming experience in their living room without having to setup a PC. Why is this a bad thing?
Also, consoles aren't the ones holding back PCs, developers are. They are the ones that either dictate how a game is going to be graphically wise or FPS wise. If they are in the low graphical fidelity side is because they geared towards console gaming first, which is going to make them profits.
Second problem is control, while it is now easier to plug and play controllers, back then a console port meant having to deal with subpar controls, developers didn't even take the time to optimized their controls for mouse and keyboard.
Are you drunk anon
Also I wasn't pretending to be retarded I was stating a point
>THE WII U DOESN'T HAVE ANY MULTIPLATS
>DID YOU GET IT THAT TIME?
>DO I HAVE TO GREENTEXT AND ALL CAPS FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO READ IT
It's not my fault your a manchild who throws insults instead of coming up with a rational response
I disagree with you, I'm another person. I think PC exclusives are optimized better. The average PC game however isn't, it's just that you strongarm the game with superior hardware.
Console owners rarely care about PC, it's only a small minority of users on the internet that do.
What is a growing trend however is Steam fanboys and console port apologists praising the developers just to have more ports come to PC instead of giving them criticism to their shoddy port. PC standards have definitely fallen since the late 90s/early to mid 2000.
computers have more raw power, so they can add shit they cut for the console port, MGR or DMC are examples of optimized games on pc with added stuff, and still can run on toasters.
console ports are squished more than native pc games because they are optimized from the start to fit into the shitty console hardware, and then add graphics to fit high end pcs demand, to shill the newest videocard from
Because I'm better than other people and I'd like them to know it.
I honestly give no fuck whatsoever about 60fps.
But for crying out loud, why can't modern games ever have stable framerates?
60fps can fuck off for all I care. But then at the very least, why can't we get stable framerates?
Stable 60 > Stable 30fps > constantly fluctuating 40-60fps.
If you can't get stable 60fps. Either lower the damn fucking graphics so that you can get stable 60fps. Or perhaps more reasonably, aim for stable 30fps. But for crying out loud, don't just push hardware to their limits and then go for whatever unstable framerates you end up with. It's disgusting.
Tribalism. i mean... there are people that defends company numbers which are inconsequential and don't benefit them in the slightest.
It relies on pre built speeches and appealing to the emotions of the tribe.
So you always end up facing the same arguments:
PC has 60FPS and 4K, PS4 has no games, Wii U graphics sucks and is for children, etc...
