hi guys, i'll ask it plain hoping some of you can actually help me: is it better the ps4 or the xbox one? i'd like detailed reason as to why one is better than the other. you can flame all the way long though i'd like this thread to help me
I have this sensation that it was OP himself who made these answers.
If Xbots don't quit their blind following the Xbox One will never get better. They need to start complaining too.
>being this insecure
I own both xbone and PS4, and unless you like weeb games, the ps4 doesn't have anything different to offer

Despite /v/'s shitposting the multiplayer is top notch, the campaign however is left to be desired. It'l be interesting to see how 343i deals with halo 6.
ps4 is the objective choice hardware wise and will be worth it content wise by 2016-17 just don't rush out and buy one now if you don't have a decent pc as primary to cover multiplats unless you REALLY like halo not to mention 90% of xbone's library is very likely to end up on pc
>Home Entertainment and features
PS4 *also exclusive DLC
>Best racing games
>Best value for money
Probably Xbone if you like multiplats and owned an X360 last gen because of backwards compatibility and Microsoft is desperate.
PS4 all the way.
>Most diverse exclusives
>Most Japanese games
>Best overall console for gaming
I would say PS4 gets the edge. PS4 displays most games at 1080p while Xbox will usually do 900p. Xbone games tend to have better performance also and the PS4 can't do texture filtering which makes the image quality on Xbone better in that respect. The PS4 is better overall because I prefer the controller. I love the share button and it's easy to share stuff.
I said very likely to come not currently overlapping, fact of the matter is both console libraries are very anemic at the moment and if I had to choose just one the ps4 has the most announcements for 2016-2017, xbone has been very quiet for now
I have this friend, used to defend Xbox One with everything he could. Asked him why would he want one if the multiplats run better on the PS4. He said "I just love Halo so much". Bought the Xbox. He has 15 games, 13 are multiplats. Only has Sunset and that fighting games. Asked me "Should I buy Halo 5 or Mad Max?". Cringe all the way man.
I really prefer the buttons. I think the input really comes down to preference. I think xbone has way better triggers and they do offer greater choice with the elite controller but overall if you've only used Sony before you're likely to prefer the PS4.
Is the xbone alive at this point? the new halo couldnt save it, what's the next major release the bone is gonna get?
I've been idort for a long time. I've always preferred the bigger controllers. I like genesis over snes, Dreamcast over PS1, Xbox over ps2, and so on. Hasn't stopped me from buying a system, but makes a big difference on how many games I do get on that system. I hated adapting to shitty dualshock layouts for fighting games so I spent time at arcades. I really need to find a fight stick because the DS4 makes it way harder for me to pull off clean inputs than the DS3 ever did.
If you want a weeb machine with a lot of titles coming out in 2016 as well as 1080 with 30 fps on majority of its games: Get a PS4
If you are more into the more first party american exclusives like Halo, Gears of War ECT. at 720 30 fps: Go get an Xbone
In the future, there MAY be a chance that a lot of titles from the Xbone will come to PC in the form of Windows 10 games and thus eliminating the need for an Xbone if you have a decent gaming rig
Beyond that: It's up to you whether or not if you make a decision to buy a console. You could take the idiort route and buy them both. You have to ask yourself which console will you get the most enjoyment out of by looking at the lineup, looking at the xbones beta backwards compatibility vs PS4's subscription to play it's older games for additional payment, and whether or not you care that the PS4 has better hardware thus better graphically wise.
I would say get a PS4, but this is coming from someone who is a Sonygger as well as a PC faggot. So there may be a little bias in this post but fuck it.
either Quantum Break or crackdown. i dont remember which one comes out first.
no one is going to give a shit about either game though but xbots will pretend that those games are going to be the second coming of god.
crackdown might be fun though. but definitely not a system seller.
>but xbots will pretend that those games are going to be the second coming of god.
Just like some people claimed devil's third was gonna be an amazing game and ended up being shit, like that xbone game made by insomniac
>Almost guaranteed they dont make another one for the next gen.
I hope not, we need at least 2 major consoles otherwise sony will go full jew on the next console without the competition, just like MS went full jew with the xbone shit after the success of the 360
What I find this gen is that xbone is a lot like the Xbox HEUG where it's getting lots of cool games that no one is paying attention to because everyone pays attention to the triple A releases that don't has marketing rights for. Every game I've played on my xbone has been pretty fuckin cool, and I'm glad about it. I don't care if the system is doing well, the gAmes are fun. Sunset was fun, Forz a Horizon 2 was fun, Halo 5 is fun, Rare Replay was fun, and a couple multiplats that were cheaper to get on disk than on steam were fun.
>just like some people claimed devil's third was gonna be an amazing game
seeing Wii U fans trying to hard to praise and hype that game up was literally the saddest thing ever.
>SSOD was pretty good actually
gameplay is fun. too bad the multiplayer servers were fucking dead 3 days after launch.
> first party american exclusives like Halo, Gears of War ECT.
What is this ECT you are talking about
>And PS4 doesn't have a single good FPS outside of destin
You can include Destiny on the list and there still wouldn't be a single good FPS on it. I was pretty hyped for destiny because I liked the artstyle and general design but it was a huge letdown.
PS4 still has all the staples of FPS on consoles. You still have Battlefield 4, Advanced Warfare and Wolfenstein. To say that Halo outweighs all of them is disingenuous. Consoles were never strong when it comes to FPS. Outside of Halo, Microsoft has nothing else.
You're acting as if Microsoft has a massive advantage of Sony when it comes to fps. I would argue that Microsoft have Sony completely beat when it comes to racing but you can't discount that MS only has Halo as just a show piece.
Serious answer from someone who owns both.
Pick which ever one you have the most friends playing. Or whichever friends you would enjoy playing with the most.
Both consoles are rather equal. The only big difference is that the PS4's DDR5 can put out 4k resolution. So, of you're a richfag or a tech-head and have a UHDTV, then get the PS4. If not, see answer above.
But it has more than Halo. Currently, xbone gives some western exclusives, and ps4 has some jap exclusives. They might as well be the same in the multiplat portion because one trades framerate for resolution and vice versa
hi guys op here. im the kind of person i guess you would call a "filthy casual" in here. i dont play a lot, and im pretty much just hyped for fallout 4. the thing is: xboxone has the bundle for F4 which seems a reasonable deal to me! i liked all your answers but in the end I think I'll go for xbox one mostly because i just want to spend the less I can. and i discarded the idea of a gaming pc only cause it would cost too much for me right now :/ thank you all guys, you've been more helpful than you might think <3
It's literally as simple as looking at each consoles current and upcoming games and picking the console based on their exclusives. Use both controllers as well, see which you like
I paid $300 for my gaming pc btw, which easily keeps pace with current consoles. It just takes more shopping around. Also, if you go Xbox and want Xbox live you can get it for half price on cdkeys dot com
If you want to play a lot of japanese games, get a PS4. It's getting a lot of weeb games soon.
If you want to play a lot of western games and shooters, get an xbox one. Ps4 barely has any shooters that arent on the xbox one already.
>the PS4's DDR5 can put out 4k resolution
>not knowing anything about tech specs
The Xbone is more than capable of outputting 4k video, but neither can output 4k games
And honestly, who gives a shit? 4k is just a meme
>not wanting to play or at least being mildly interested in The Last Guardian, the spiritual successor to Ico and SotC, two of the best games released in gen 6
Is it just shitposting? I can't even tell.
I think the PS4 has better specs but I'm not sure on that. Either way what really matters is the games. Exclusives specifically but if you're someone like me with a shitbox of a computer, any game in general will come into the equation.
I can only speak personally but more PS4 games interested me than Xbox one games. The only things I really wanted that I can't play on the PS4 (and my toaster) are D4 and Rare Replay. And one of those is just a collection of old games I can probably emulate anyway.
I have an Xbox 1 and a PS4 and from my experience PS4 is better. It is so much faster/responsive and the menu is a lot less complicated. The PS4 controller is also lighter and less clunky that the Xbox one. With Xbox live you get 1 free game per month. With PSan you get 7
