>Bloodborne doesn't try to advertise the game based on "you will die a million times! this is le hardest game ever made!"
>suddenly, becomes best game in the franchise
It's your opinion, anon. You want us to discuss about that?
After putting around 70 hours into BB, I started playing DaS again. I honestly can't tell you what the better game is. BB has great combat and overall feel. DaS has great secrets and cool movesets.
I think LP'ers like PewDiePie started the 'million death' memes, and the company just accepted it and build DaS2 around it.
Where did the whole "souls games are the hardest ever" meme come from anyway? Was it just made up by Bamco to hype up DaS or did people legitimately think it was the hardest game in existence?
That was only by a tiny amount. And was primarily pushed by Namco and if Miyazaki had his own way he wouldn't advertise the difficulty as a stage point for the game. With DaS2 it was pushed by both namco and the B-Teams two incompetent directors.
Devs =/= Marketing team
The "B team" had nothing to do with marketing aspect, even though they did add some things that were meant to "increase difficulty" even though all they amounted to was higher enemy damage and giving random poise to armorless enemies.
Reminder that there's MLGS in TOH.
>bought das2 on release
>played totally blind
>le epic ogre Cyclops that one shots you in the tutorial area
>Achievement Unlocked: THIS IS DARK SOULS GET IT U DIED TO ONE HIT KILL MECHANICS XD
I don't know why I still expected it to be good after that.
Do people just not remember the introduction of death as a gameplay mechanic? It wasn't about being hard but the whole "no saving, if you fuck up you're fucked up" thing was actually pretty essential to the marketing of the first two games.
Of course everyone associates dying a lot with hard so that's where the hard meme came from.
This is honestly true. DaS discussion amounted to
>Kek artificial difficulty
>Blamco fans BTFO
>Souls, good. Pick one
>Sun fags GTFO
and so on and so on.
Back when it was only Demon Souls, and now Bloodborne (with the occasional >sonyfags shitposters), there is actual discussion of lore, tactics, aesthetics, secrets, etc. It isn't perfect, but it is much better.
Let's be honest, the main reason for that is because of console wars. Of course a game on one console/pc is gonna have less shitposting, since there's no competition. Sonyfags are just as guilty of that as anyone else.
The director of Bloodborne is different than the director of Dark Souls 2. There, Miyazaki really makes better games than whoever the retard that was directing the shit that ended up being Dark Souls 2.
Sorry that I don't subscribe to the "dark souls 2 is the absolute worst game ever made!" meme. BB was good but it's biggest problem was that there wasn't much of an incentive to replay, due to the lack of customization options by comparison.
DaS2 suffered during development because they switched game directors twice and one of those times they scrapped pretty much the whole game and started over. If they just let Miyazaki do BB and DaS2 like he's doing now for DaS3 and TOH we would've been better off
I like its atomsphere, but I can't find a reason to go back to it after the first playthrough. Overall I probably had more fun with DaS2 than I did with BB. They real fucked it up with the small amount of weapons and armors.
>5 mins into DaS2
>one of those witches sitting at the table saying "You will die over, and over, and over again" while laughing
Sounds to me like the devs are laughing at the players and going "THIS IS SO CUHRAYZEE HARD, PREPARE TO DIE"
It's not a bad game, but it's in no way better than Bloodborne. Only a PKek would think that. Notice how I didn't quote DaS or DeS, because preferring those over Bloodborne is understandable depending on your taste.
>there wasn't much of an incentive to replay
Compared to what, DS2 which allowed you infinite leveling and in fact PUNISHED you for not leveling as you was invaded by SL387 haveljesters while being on SL100?
I did roughly 3 characters in DS2 because the game was worthless for replaying, making builds was penalized till the time agape ring was introduced and even after largest chunk of playerbase ignored it on top of that thing being a half-assed attempt to fix SM.
At the same time i have 8 specialized characters in bloodborne and they feel like builds because i'm stopping at BL70-140.
>PeaCocks cannot play Bloodborne
>suddenly, becomes best game in the franchise
I love it when people who have never played Bloodborne criticizes it
>15 weapons, without counting tricked mode
>a lot of different armor sets
So just because it didn't have 15 different scimitars and 15 different long swords means it has no variety?
by normalfags who bought Dark Souls because it kept getting compared to Skyrim by every review site and webcomic artist.
The threads in DeS and early DaS were all talking about fair but difficult.
It's funny that people say "it's not a bad game" and yet most of the time can't say a single positive thing about it without going on about how much they hated everything about it.
Regardless, I said DaS2 wasn't as good. SotFS makes just enough improvements though. But how dare anyone have even a remotely positive opinion of it.
I never really had that problem. Yeah I got invaded sometimes but it wasn't usually such a big deal as all of that. Also might help that I could just make a backup save and reload that if I felt my SL was too high pre-agape. Also the builds felt more different compared to BB's.
>Also the builds felt more different compared to BB
I could agree with you if we were talking about DS1 which had a working midroll and fastroll.
DS2 nerfed most viable playstyles to shit, right now i rate it even lower than BB in terms of builds thanks to this and SM.
I still prefer DaS over BB, but I admit that I fucking love that I finally have a useful whip weapon, and its a bitching cane that turns into a sword/whip
Overall for me it's
No I don't consider DaS2 a bad game they are all good games for me. I just couldn't get into DaS2 mood/atmosphere that much, though i ahve yet to try SotFS
Everything about this webm is beautiful
MLB should mean more people get into Arcane, hopefully
>an alternate attack
More like moveset you idiot. Switching modes in a weapon changes it's whole moveset also there are moves dedicated only to switching the weapon mid swing on top of it.
>wield weapons in either hand and powerstance
Left hand weapon gets ~15% damage debuff which isn't reflected by status screen.
And you can't combo r1 into l1/2 which makes almost all powerstance moves garbage.
> 2hand them
Compared to having two fucking separate weapon modes with different features and sometimes even scaling that is present in bb?
>350 hours in Demon's, four full build characters
>180 in DS, two and a half full build chars
>100 hours in DS2, DLCs included, , one and a half characters
>60 in BB, one character
I don't like where this is going
Might make a new
Chikagebuild character for the DLC though
DeS has one decently designed area, has the most poorly balanced magic in the series, tons of pointless and superfluous weapon upgrade paths, janky as fuck animations, and is one of the buggiest games From has ever managed to put out
I like DeS, but I have no idea why people tote it as the best in the series
SotfS doesn't improve anything at all in either regard. All it does is brighten some things to a stupid degree and make you use a torch in the gutter.
Oh, and it applies this shitty mist effect to the Dragon Aerie that DS2 fans busted many a nut over. But that's about it regarding the atmosphere.
>DaS2 had around 80 without the DLC.
Probably one of the most amazing things about DS2's failure is that this is actually completely true (it's actually closer to 90), yet no one gives a shit because of how many of these sets are ugly as sin.
Good shit about bloodborne is it's not shield reliant
I felt like in DeS Dks & (not so much) Dks2 when starting up you felt like without a shield you were fucked and most o' the time you made the game rely on your shield.
The whole thing made them clunky
In Ds2 some perma roll dex builds were viable from the start & it already felt better
Bloodborne was the next step & Dks3 is already going on the same path which is ideal
>Mfw Micolash boss fight
It's not even hard, just incredibly annoying and the Oompaloompas in the stairs are more fucking dangerous than anything before
>DeS has one decently designed area
I enjoyed every area in DeS, aside from maybe Stonefang but that's mostly for aesthetics
I sometimes hate replaying the other games in the series because there's a point where the games drop in quality and it no longer becomes fun to play
>after Anor Londo
>after Shadows of Yharnam
>after the Lost Bastille
Sure, some thing needed streamlining and fixing, and some of it was, but I still prefer DeS.
Tricked weapon mode is just simply wielding a weapon 2handed.
Sure there are weapons that don't change too much in DS2 when you 2hand them but there are a ton that certainly do.
I don't even know why I'm bothering explaining this to you. If you actually played both games you wouldn't claim bloodborne has more variety.
I'll admit that bloodborne has more variety than some people would claim since there are alot of different attacks for weapons depending on what you are chaining them off of.
I feel like the difficulty is more fair hetre in BB, I have so far soloe'd everything in the game without problems, just like in DeS and DaS (except for Bulk and Skull)
Something I couldn't do in DaS2 for some reason, everything was too unfair
almost every weapon in DaS had a unique moveset, with the exception of obvious ones like some greathammers and spears
2 was the one that had every weapon type have pretty much the exact same
You could argue that some of BB's aren't really worth wearing/are pretty ugly as well. I'm just putting down numbers. Fashion Souls and all.
I liked using a shield though. There aren't actually that many games where you need to rely so heavily on blocking; usually rolling/dodging is more effective unless you count shit like timed blocks.
Also BB sorta offset that by making dodges use considerably less stamina.
Honestly the Duke's Archives, Darkroot Basin, Painted World, Ash Lake, and New Londo ruins were some of my favorite areas in DaS, and those are all post Anor Londo. Really the only shitty areas are Lost Izalith and the Crystal Cave. Not to mention everything in Artorias of the Abyss was great
I never really got why everyone hated the second half of the game
>2 was the one that had every weapon type have pretty much the exact same
Not only inside one weapon type. They actually reused some animations BETWEEN weapon types and even on boss weapons.
>fucked it up wrt weapons and armor
>in comparison to DaS2
OH BOY I SURE LOVE COPYPASTED MOVESETS
HERE'S A GREATSWORD
AND ANOTHER GREATSWORD
AND ANOTHER GREATSWORD
AND ANOTHER GREATSWORD
AND ANOTHER GREATSWORD
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
TRICK QUESTION!!! THEY'RE PALLETE SWAPS!
I SURE DO ENJOY EVERY WEAPON IN A CLASS HAVING THE EXACT SAME MOVESET WITH SLIGHTLY TWEAKED STATS
SUCH VARIETY WOW
That's the thing. Sure, it's nice to have lots of variety, but there really wasn't much. 99% of the items were USELESS in the game. They were trash.
I'd much rather have 5 useful weapons that I WILL use than 45 useless weapons and five useful ones.
>Playing chalice dungeons because fuck it
>Farming for flat arcane gems
>pickup one, +67 flat arcane
>Realise somehow it dropped the gem as a fucking CIRCULAR gem instead of a radial
WHAT THE F
>Put it in blunderbuss
>Literally doubled it's damage
Holy FUCK, I didn't know this was a thing? Is there like some random chance a gem will give you a different shape?
Dumb question, but what are chalice dungeons? I've just started playing and I feel like I'm a bit into it, but I haven't heard a thing about them yet. I hear people talk about them all the time
I used more than 15 weapons In DaSII though which is what the BB shitposters like >>315317609 ignore. Sure there was a lot of copypasted shit, but even if you remove all the duplicates there was still more variety.
Dooks was alright.
Ashlake and Painted world are optional and can be done before the second half of the game
Wasn't really a fan of the enemies in New Londo
I hated Crystal Caves, Demon Ruins, Lost Izaltih, and the Tomb of the Giants. Those all felt incredibly lazy and their bosses weren't too good either
They're weird to figure out at first, but basically they're diablo 2 esque random dungeons with loot.
You basically do chalice dungeons to find interesting and powerful bloodgems. Theres a weapon exclusive to the dungeons too that you find, and also a couple armour sets.
>BB best game in the franchise
So what is it sonyggers. Is BB a souls game or not? That's a pretty big jump to best. I would say DaS is better by far because of how replayable it is, but I know you guys bought your ps4 just for this game so bragging about it is a must so carry on.
Focusing on difficulty always brings out the spergiest opinions. It's always either
>OMG SO HARD I DIED SO MANY TIMES HARDEST GAEM EVAR
>HAHA GIT GUD SCRUB I COMPLETED IT WITH MY EYES CLOSED USING ONLY MY DICK
That looks like the Dark Souls 1 buff animation, but in Bloodborne you're supposed to buff quickly?
Could the moonlight gs be self buffable? Or is this a new type of arcane paper that takes longer to apply or something?
Hard to understand this image.
The multiplayer is fucking garbage in bloodborne. There is no longevity compared to other souls games. You can make 20x the different builds in DaS and DeS but in BB you are limited to the few trick weapons there are and build varieties are meh at best.
The password co op was nice if you wanted to play a friend and thank god they didnt go with soul memory again but they still had server issues (at launch and a few months ago when I tried) would take 5 minutes for our bells to resonate.
Also they took a step back from NG+ comntent compared to DaSII, its fucking awful in BB.
They really don't have much to do with the atmosphere, but the enemy placements don't make anywhere near as positive an impact on the world as fans make them out to be. There were decent placements in the Crypt, at the Dragon Shrine (speaking of new behaviors, theirs definitely counts positively towards the world design) and adding Heide Knights to the tower made sense (though their behavior doesn't really), but then you have stupid shit like the horse in the castle, the assassin in the Earthen Peak, an extra dozen miners/Alonne knights/spiders/manikins that are just there to drag out your playtime, and a couple of damage sponge black phantoms that are just there for the sake of being there to offset them.
Fans were waving around how Pursuer actually 'pursues' you through a couple extra areas, which would've been a nice touch had those positions not been as brainless as they are. Especially in the Bastille. The first one you can circumvent immediately by just going up a ladder, and the second one will just despawn if you don't jump back across a gap within 5 seconds.
Weapon on the picture is literally named as Gekkou no Seiken which is Holy Sword of Moonlight.
Ludwig has it on his back in longsword mode, it will probably transform into magical greatsword while tricking.
This isn't the moonlight greatsword, retards, but that is a new greatsword.
It's a new buff item called Moonlight Essence. It requires 40 ARC to use and uses bullets. It gives hyper arcane damage scaling, but actually does physical damage. Supposed to be very similar to Curse Weapon from Demon's Souls, but without the HP drain.
>the Pursuer's locations in the Bastille sucked
Maybe if you already knew where he'd spawn. Going in blind was fucking great. I didn't know where he'd show up, so the tension was definitely there
>Ludwig/Kirkhammer's silver longsword
>buff uses QS to cover it in trademark MGS "Glass"
>heavy attack casts ranged vertical slash attack, dispelling effect
>charged heavy casts horizontal
>not made for 12yo tryhards
>game is actually good
what a surprise
The magazine is saying that you can "achieve" the moonlight greatsword in spirit by using the buff on the holy blade, retard.
As I said, it's not actually a weapon. It's a buff item with it's own buff animation that is identical to buffing in Dark Souls.
>has the most poorly balanced magic in the series
His taste is shit, but DaS has by far and large the most broken magic in the entire series.
2 - 3 beads off a Dark Bead can literally one shot you with 40 VIT and favour ring on.
I really fucking hope From fix their fuckup and include a Dragon Bone Smasher successor in the DLC.
Grave Bone Smasher. Literally a headstone on a stick that you swing around. Complete with delicious roll juggles. Transforms into a stone shield + wooden club.
Powerstancing was absolute trash, what the fuck are you on about? You couldn't even chain it into a combo. At least with trick weapons you can actually R1 or R2 into an L1 trick attack.
Powerstancing felt like the beta mode for trick weapons in all honesty, it was so poorly handled and unimaginative.
>Chikage build is fucking broken
you never been in fight clubs if you're saying this
a good quality build can fucking TRADE against chikage and that thing only relies on DPS to do anything
Axe is literally the best weapon.
Anyone starting a new game not using it is pleb teir.
You get the one handed moveset with all the staggers, gives loads of health back, and gives you the flexibility of a 2 handed moveset. It's the complete package.
Saw Cleaver is just one handed light spam only. Cane is the same.
Axe is just delicious. I REALLY hope they make Halberds in Dark Souls 3 basically rip that weapon off.
Variety is only good when there's quality there too.
DaS2 had fuck tons of weapons, but the fact remains that out of all those dozens of weapons per weapon category, only 2 - 3 were actually viable, the rest were fodder and filler with inferior scaling and movesets and made irrelevant by those 2 - 3 top tier weapons of each category.
>a good quality build can fucking TRADE against chikage
I think you mean a Hunter's Axe can trade against Chikage, since the thing recovers like 3x the HP than any other weapon in the fucking game.
I wish it was good so I didn't have to feel this 450€ buyers remorse.
>Maybe if you already knew where he'd spawn.
The thing is, on my run through SotFS I didn't, and I'm not sure where you'd get any kind of tension from. If he suddenly appeared in the middle of a cramped hallway or something and it was really hard to get around him I could understand. They could've just stuck him with the exploding prisoners in that waterway and it would've been twice as effective as what we got, since that room is both mandatory and reasonably difficult to get through if you're not just rushing past everything.
It was especially stupid in that second case. I went into my menu to get out my bow and by the time I backed out he was already despawning.
It was mostly Bamco. People reviewed Demon's Souls and praised its punishing nature, and how it didn't hold the player's hand. Some people thought it was really, really absurdly difficult, but those people just dropped the game. Then Bamco took the idea of the game's difficulty and marketed with it to the extreme, making the games seem to cheaply revolve around "being difficult", which is just stupid in my opinion. But many people ate that up anyway... So although it's not true, and wasn't the intentions of the developers, "souls game are the hardest ever" is a thought that floats around.
>I think you mean a Hunter's Axe can trade against Chikage
I mean a quality build. Do you have any idea how much a blunt gemmed LHB dishes out? How good BB's transform attacks to hyperarmor through chikage? How saw weapons can outspam that thing and outrange it at the same time?
>tfw quality build with some BT and Evelyn on the side
Oh the look on those little Chikage fucker's faces.
I agree that if they didn't make him despawn he'd be a lot better, in general
hands-down worst enemies in the whole fucking series
>SotFS dragon aerie
>acid pomf zombie explodes in your face
>have to port back to Majula since you can't repair shit a bonfire
It would actually be less annoying if they instakilled you
Do you mean the only shield in the game which looks like crap and is a piece of shit against anything else?
You were one of the mongs that said climax was fine in early DaS2 cause "just roll thru it (^:" weren't you
People saying "there aren't any builds in Bloodborne" are wierd to me.
Bloodgems open up loads of weird shit.
You can go for a high END build, with radiant bloodgems for stamina usage and just have near infinite pressure on the opponent.
You can go base stats, high VIT build using flat gems. You can stack up to +20 healing between gun and weapon and have a very viable healing build.
A build focussed entirely around poison using the wheel.
There's not SHITLOADS but there are still a few interesting things. I'm yet to try going max rally potential possible on a weapon and seeing what it can do.
Reminder that Amelia is the worst boss in the game.
You could potentially stack 3 of the absolute best possible rally % up gems and stick them on it.
Of course your damage on the weapon isn't jacked because you're not using pure phys gems, but I can see it working really well trading someone to death.
I know how surprised I was with the stamina build. stacked max stamina usage down on the stake driver. I literally didn't let them have any breathing room, I could just keep dashing and slashing while they got to a point where all they could do was spam backdash to try and find some object to heal behind.
Also, due to gems having rare chance to drop the wrong shape, you can do strange stuff with gems not fully known or intended.
You can potentially get any gem that exists in any shape. Flat arcane gem as a circular can be put on a shotgun and do massive damage increase.
Das2 is honestly my second favorite game I have ever played I love it and everything about the game it's just so fun to me do others honestly think it's that bad? Sure there are a lot of dumb ass problems with the game but still I always wondered if people actually played it for awhile to try and like it
I don't know how anyone who likes Souls PvP couldn't enjoy this, it's so much more balanced than any Souls imo.
>that pressure to perform well that you feel when fighting someone using the same weapon
>I really don't like any of the beast bosses.
The smaller beasts bosses are great fun. Its the fuck huge ones that suck because once again From Software cant make a proper camera and they place bosses in small rooms with pillars and other obstacles. You try to turn the camera and when an object comes close the fucking thing zooms in.
Paarl is the one boss that Miyazaki designed and no critique or team fixes or anything were allowed to be done on it. He was "his vision".
Paarl/Loran Darkbeast is objectively the worst boss in the game.
Incredibly hard to hit, moves away from you in an instant, has neverending spam combos after halfway, an AOE attack if you try to do any reasonable damage to him that you have to dash perfectly to avoid, becomes basically a OHKO after halfway.
Loran Darkbeast is just the fucking worst shit in the series. He moves around like Michael J Fox in a runaway bumper car.
>le git gud faec
Just because there's a way to mitigate a clearly overpowered tactic doesn't mean it's balanced. In fact, having to dramatically change your playstyle or have to take item X alost specifically just to counter tactic Y is a good indicator that it's too strong.
Face it, bloodborne has the worst pvp in the series, and you only defend it since it's the only exclusive the ps4 has.
T-the non-PC ones were the best! S-sony wins again..
>waaah i need to change my playstyle a little against certain danger
I've played Dark Souls 2 the second most out of all Souls games, just because of the sheer amount of content the game has. But yes, it's markedly worse than every other game in quality and design.
It's alright but Axe and ludwig sword is beyond broken, the actual pvp is decent, the way they implemented pvp in the game is awful.
I really enjoy DaS3 pvp though from what I played during stress test. So fucking good. Fixed lagstabs, more depth with weapons and spells with magic/battle skills
BB is the least played pvp game I played out of the other games.
Paarl is cancer incarnate
I mean he wouldn't be so bad if you weren't spending the majority of the time fighting the camera
I can only tolerate fighting him later on now when my weapons are strong enough to stunlock him to death
This is why I love the Executioner Gloves. They're essentially Pursuers from DS1 except you actually have to have a working brain to be effective with them.
I'm in the process of making a 99 arc build right now and I'll finally be able to use them as my main damage dealer.
You've never actually used the plank shield in gunspam pvp before, have you? Reiter + shield is a popular combination.
>Boot up BB because of this thread
>They still haven't given you a refilling Estus Blood Flask and let you sit at lamps to refresh everything
Why the fuck is this allowed. I'm sick to death of my autism of farming for bullets and vials. This shit wasn't fun in des having to constantly buy grass and bullshit.
It's literally a deterrent to playing the game.
They should've given you a max 10 use refilling vial.
Is Bloodborne the only game Playstation 4 owners have? You still see threads about it after months when it's just some shitty 30 hours PvE game with no replay value.
You didn't see ANY Bayonetta 2 threads after a month it was released.
>Dash, gun spam, dash, gun spam
No matter what weapons you use and what builds every PVP fight feels the same. There is also the shitty gems. The player who grind the hardest for those three 30% atk gems will have a big advantage and they can 1 or 2 hit kill you. If you do grind like him then you kill him just as fast.
Its just boring as shit.
Gems have a very small chance of being off shape, I can't remember the actual chance rate but you got something lucky there.
But I want to know how much damage are you getting out of that blunderbuss? tell me.
In all honestly even though I have a PS4 I'd love it on PC with 60fps, shit would be cash as fuck but it's not the end of the world, I don't mind 30fps as much as most PC guys.
It just takes a while to get into it m8, once you get the rythm you can parry heals without much effort, it's all about reading your opponent and generally the tells of when someone is about to try and heal are really obvious.
I don't mind fps either I just don't have a ps4 the only console I really thought I would use still is my ps3 I've had that shit since it came out and I still do use it since it's still pretty good
132 damage on my blunderbuss.
From a distance it's a nice little chunk of damage, but nothing super crazy.
Point blank it's fucking insanity. Nothing like the arcane rifle spear ever was, but still about half as good. Like 800 on a player point blank, 1.5k+ on enemies
You can actually pvp in every area in the game that lets you ring either bell, including the Hunters Dream. The problem is bell maidens having one restriction too many and the connectivity being shit in general (though it's much more about the latter than the former).
oh fuck me the wound on Yharnam lines up with where MP glomps you
L O R E
>Decide what the hell, try summoning at Old Yarnham for some co op
>"X has arrived"
>a fucking PURPLE guy shows up
I summoned a fucking invader? Shit was weird. we started fighting and he stopped and then we went through the area together.
Shit was super weird. It was like a co op buddy and friendly fire turned on. He died before I got to the boss gate so I don't know if they can come in with you or not.
Shit was cool as fuck.
All the souls' games are good in their own way.
I hated DaS2 passionately until my friend convinced me to make a new character play the DLC. It was neat.
Yes, but not as major as you'd think, I'm assuming it only works off the BLD portion of the damage, but it's still a decent bump, but I was expecting like 2k damage after I used it, which It wasn't. Evelyn + bone ash is more powerful at a distance, but holy shit.
I didn't even know you could get wrong gem shapes. Been looking it up this past half hour. I feel like I caught a shiny mew or something.
I feel like I've probably got a few odd gems like this but didn't notice at the time, I remember having a triangle drop in an Ihyll once.
Best game? No. It was good. I had fun. I played thru it once, tried to get thru NG+ and was just so fucking bored by the lack of variety. The atmosphere was good but over-used, it just ran out of spooky factor halfway through.
I really don't get the praise for BB. Fun, yeah. Zero replay value which with From, is definitely not a good sign.
The covenants actually conflict with each other so say you have a vileblood rune and the person you summon has an executioner rune then you guys will be enemies, b/c they're enemies in the actual game. Eileen's is the same but different.
Depends on the covenant runes, if you're a vileblood and you summon an executioner he'll be hostile because executioners hate vilebloods.
Hunter of hunters I'm not sure but they be hostile to hosts too.
Well fuck me sideways. I would've thought this would've happened way more often then if it's just opposing runes?
Why have I literally only just had this happen?
I really wish they did more with the covenants then that, I felt like they had the base ideas down for it then later down development just was like eh
felt lazy as shit besides the covenants conflicting, not to mention how far into the game they are
Personally I see it differently. While there are less weapons, I ended up replaying it more than DeS and DaS2 (not DaS1 though because I loved PvP in that) simply because the combat was so fun and I wanted to keep playing.
All the hundreds of weapons in DaS2 couldn't keep me entertained because the combat was so hollow, and it was just after DaS1 so I'd been played out a bit and it didn't offer much new over DaS1.
Quality of gameplay
DeS = BB > DaS >SotFS > DaSII
Quantity of gameplay
SotFS > DaSII >DaS > DeS > BB
Personally though, in terms of overall enjoyment, my power ranking goes
DaS = DeS > BB >> SotFS > DaSII
>Ah, tu etais a mes cotes, depuis toujours.
>Ah, you were at my side, always.
This is what Ludwig says after you kill him. Do you think he could be talking about the sword? And if any French speakers out there think my translation is wrong, please correct it.
I feel like DaS2 did a few things right, NG+ being the big thing.
Things should fucking change when you go into NG+, bosses should have new moves, items, weapons, etc
something to make you want to spice up the NG+
shit was awesome, however it did do a lot of bad things as well, I just hope they add DaS2 NG+ system to 3
I leave Vileblood on all the time so I get free insight consumables from pvp. It's not like having one on is a negative in any way.
He's talking about the 'horse' part of rape horse
It's confirmed Das3 does indeed have Dark Souls 2's NG+ system.
Put me in the camp of Dark Souls 2 being one of my favourites, just because of build variety.
All the wonderful neat and wacky weapon and armour combos was my festish. I just wish the game as a whole was better.
Dark Souls 3 has the potential to be GOAT, as long as they learned from what did and didn't work in each game.
>Quantity of gameplay
BB was longer than DeS for me dafuck. BB clocked in ~50 hours first playthrough for me, while DeS was 30.
And DeS was my first Souls game, bought it back in the import days so I was shit at it too.
I wanna make a wheel build, what do you guys think my Strength/Arcane spread should be? I plan to rely heavily on the buff, but maybe not stack it too hard. Also, is it worth putting health regen bloodgems on to slow the health drain or should I just go full glass cannon?
>With das2 the devs bought into it a bit too much
The only thing that even hints at this is the first achievement and the witches, but even then that's just a minor meme comparable to
>PREPARE TO DIE
I'd be laughing my ass off too if some assholes came through my house to join the other two dozen hollows in my backyard shit those motherfucking grannies help your ass out later give you nine effigyes
>I love how the three BB threads we get a month
Try three every six hours. Daily.
For a game that is supposedly dead and forgotten about, you guys sure do love to shitpost about it.
I knew these motherfuckers weren't regular hollows
I don't ever expect BB nor any other exclusives to come to PC until Sony officially and actually go down or they just behead their gaming division.
I just really want the PS4 to die.
I know you Sonyggers gag to spam goldenface, but not this time.
to be fair the games are not exactly a cakewalk. The "souls games are fuckin hard and shit" thing came from all the people who bought it and discovered that its pretty challenging. There are definitely harder games (stalker comes to mind) but for a casual audience it was like bringing back ninja gaiden
How are you so new?
The exclusives* joke is from E3 when Sony would Astrix just about everything they said.
Especially when they would try to slide timed exclusives as full exclusives.
Base wheel stats, flat arcane gems is all you need.
Pump the rest into pure VIT. I have 60 VIT on my wheel build and dish out 500+ average per dash attack on players.
It's objectively the most powerful build in the game. It's the prepatch flipping havel ninja of bloodborne.
Yes, and it implies *also available on PC.
I'm telling you that your meme is irrelevant here. You will literally never ever see Bloodborne on PC, so why say "exclusives*" at all.
Imo, phys% gems shouldn't have been a thing.
Infact, there just should never have been any damage up gems, at all.
Instead, remove all the downsides to gems, the shitty unfun ATTACK DOWN etc, and increase the values of normal shit.
Make gems more about stamina usage down, rally up, passive healing, converting to fire/bolt etc. Just done way better.
There would then be no need to go ridiculous on the chalice boss difficulty sponging etc.
The only way you should've been able to increase a weapons damage via gems was SCALING gems. The Heavy/Sharp etc gems are fine. The Tempering ones need to fucking go.
>Bloodborne doesn't try to advertise the game based on "you will die a million times! this is le hardest game ever made!"
Because the game is about bloodlust and men becoming beasts, not men dying and becoming monsters.
Dying and death is literally an important storypoint in Dark Souls.
Legitimate question about Bloodborne since I want to get a PS4
and there are no other games for the system I want besides Rockband
How good are the bosses? Im looking more for shit thats actually entertaining like Allant or Artorias and not shit like "its hard cuz theres more than one of them"
Maybe you should stop spouting memes in threads that have no place for them, then anons like me won't have to call you on your shit and embarrass you in front of the whole of 4chins.
Run along now, little kekold.
This thread is for people that can actually play the game.
it don't have anything to do with the games, who did the ''you will die'' meme was BANDAI, this is why DeS don't have ''le you will die'' meme.
That blue cover of dark souls is not even canon, it was made by bandai, the cover of from software is a guy sitting at a bonfire, bandai don't understand what is dark souls, they think is just a edgy game to die and be angry.
This is why ds2 is the worst game by far, it was the one that bandai was most involved.
this and bell maidens ruined the player versus player setting. kind of what made dark souls and demons souls work so well. with the amount of weapons until the dlc, it made the game stale and not that deep.
they really should of had gems not even about stats. like maybe perks that dealt with +more health up on sequence of attacks.
>The only way you should've been able to increase a weapons damage via gems was SCALING gems
Holy fuck are you me? I've been saying this since release.
You get these top teir STR/SKILL/ARC/BLD scaling gems that are ENTIRELY shit compared to the phys% gems you get easily from the stupid watchers boss.
Just inane decisions. Why even bother with all these different gem types if you're going to just shit on all of them with LOL SUPER DAMAGE GEM.
Dark Souls didn't have any ring that gave you more damage or any bullshit like that.
Dark Souls 2 introduced that and then Bloodborne went steroids on the concept.
Let the weapons and scaling be the damage. At the very most, let there be gems to increase scaling. Then shit would've been interesting, decking out a chikage with 3 STR scaling gems and turning it into a quality weapon.
There isn't a single boss that's DS2 tier. Not even the cheap
The majority of the bosses are solo enemies. Each one has a different weak point, some can be parried while others can't.
There are 3 fights with multiple enemies, one is pretty good, one is terrible, one is meh. All 3 of them are better than almost anything DS2 put out, however.
If you're only interested in boss fights then Bloodborne will be the best in the series. Pretty much all of them are more intricate solo fights than any previous Souls game.
They have multiple phases, decently sized health pools, and considerably deeper movesets.
They are all ''what the fuck is this thing''
I was spinning around the unborn for some minutes trying to understand what the fuck is that thing and if it have a head or something
I don't have a PS4, only occasionally borrow a friend's PS3, and play games mostly on my PC.
The Sony ones are the best, or at the least are tied with Dark Souls 1. They still beat it in a lot of categories though.
>and considerably deeper movesets.
Having dumped like 200 hours into the game I didn't really believe people were saying this seriously until I did a co-op run with a friend and Amelia behaved completely differently.
I agree, besides like 2-3 bosses, the rest are garbage. Mainly monster bosses.
Humanish bosses/hunters were the best and theres few, cainhurst, graham, gascoigne, and hunters in the quest line
I actually felt really let down by the bosses in BB besides the ones I mentioned
Mirror knight, Lost sinner, Velstadt, Aldia, Old Dragonslayer/Ornstein, ruin sentinels, gargoyles and pursuer I remember being pretty good fights.
all I remember from BB is Paarl.
What do you mean fooling?
am I being trolled? Amelia is one of the easier bosses, 90% of her arm moves can be dodged to the right and she is extremely weak to fire paper
the whole strat to her is dodge right, the only times you have to dodge left is like her punce and left groundpound
she is mediocre as fuck and her attack list is awful
It's not about how fucking easy or hard she is. It's about how well designed she is - how many different moves she has.
Every single fight in every Souls game can be boiled down to "dodge and attack"
Rom times two
Shadows of Yarnham
Watcher fatties repeated about ten times
CE is literally Rat Covenant
Shadows of Yarnham is everything you're complaining about
Rom has the most adds out of any Souls game
Micolash is a worthless boss who is only challenging because he throws a one shot where the only way to not die is to roll at him
Watcher fatties are just fat enemies and there's 3 of them
And One Reborn is Tower Knight with more rain damage
All of those fights are garbage. If those are supposed to be better than DS2 bosses then you must not have played the game... or Bloodborne for that matter.
It came from reviewers of Demon's Souls. I'm serious. Every single review either praised it and then said "But it's SUPER hard" or else docked points for the game being too hard.
Since a lot of people didn't hear about it before the overall great reviews, that became it's "thing". Being "the hard game" that was getting good reviews.
>CE is literally Rat Covenant
>Micolash is a worthless boss who is only challenging because he throws a one shot where the only way to not die is to roll at him
>Watcher fatties repeated about ten times
>And One Reborn is Tower Knight with more rain damage
O I am laffin'
The best part is that CE, while a pretty bad boss for sure, is essentially an iterative improvement on the rat covenant fight. You really should've stayed in school.
>Watchers mentioned twice
>Emissary mentioned twice
>thought that Micolash was challenging
>Tower Knight 2.0 = a bad thing
>Shadows of Yharnam was cheap
This whole post just reeks of the part of this fanbase that needs to stop existing.
Rom didn't even kill me until I got to the Chalice Dungeon. It was a shitty fight. Godlike setting though. It was the Covetous Demon with Aoes and way too many adds.
And the Tower Knight was a good boss. Not a highlight or anything but alright. Tower Knight repeat doing everything in it's power to try and be 'cheap' and failing that was not however. The thing was even supposed to be a big deal too and it failed to deliver on every level.
Lavadog was a better fight. BB just did multiple enemy bosses terrible. Mind you The Queen of Yarnham was a multiple enemy boss and she was one of the best fights in the game now that I think about it. The others were trash.
It's the shortest, has the least content, has the largest dull spaces, is the most thematically one-note, has the shallowest characters, is the most plagued with framerate issues, has the worst online, I can go on.
Learn to read. I listed the multiple enemy bosses because the prior poster said there was only three in the game.
And I never said Shadows of Yarnham was cheap, just that it's everything that people complain about from DS2. Shadows is like the only boss I never died against for some reason.
And Micolash isn't challenging in the slightest. I just said the only thing about him is that he throws a one shot nigh unavoidable aoe unless you roll into the aoe. Which is to compensate for his weak attacks because the devs ran out of ideas besides "maze"
Shadows of Yarnham is a good fight though, unlike the ones in Dark Souls 2. You didn't die to them because their AI is fair.
And Micolash doesn't have to be challenging. He's something unique and interesting and very important to the lore. His arena being a maze is a welcome shakeup of the formula.
same with >>315333812
except it looks like the poor fool actually put effort into this
