>that one kid that brought his DS to high school
>tfw pre-ordered VITA and 3DS original
>tfw never take them out in public
im 6'3 250 with a full bread
that would look kinda weird if i was to just start playing pokemon on the bus or something
I'd crack a smile, not because you're a huge faggot but because you're doing what you want.
Do whatever you want, who gives a fuck what random normies think m8.
>on the bus
WHAT ELSE ARE YOU DOING ? TWIDDLING YOUR THUMBS ? PLAY VIDYA.
>Pokemon Diamond and Pearl came out when I was in high school
>couldn't go more than 10 feet without seeing someone playing it around campus
>>that one kid that brought his DS to high school
but OP that was a lot of kids, me included
heck me and others still do it in college
i don't take it out in a lot of public places tho
>go on field trip
>everyone plays mario kart download play
>next year, go on another field trip
>excited for more vidya
>literally nobody else brings their ds
>sit there and play alone
Why did they all grow up except us, /v/?
I literally got off a bus 10 minutes ago, saw a chubby neckbeard playing his DS on it while gulping down a bottle of cola.
In contrast, also saw a cute asian girl at my uni playing with a DS today as well.
>Not playing with your classmates
What kind of highschool student doesn't have a handheld ?
It's becoming even worse in college
Half my classes had a group of 3-4 losers chuckling like fucking beavis and butthead playing mario kart or something at the back
they got them taken away daily and had their entire summer holiday's stripped for failing literally everything
>Not having free days in school during which everyone bought in their GBA's to trade pokemon and battle
>Not bringing in your Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon TCG decks
>Not bringing in your custom Beyblades to show off
How shit was your childhood, man?
>bring DS to my high school one day
>everyone wanted to play it
>give it to some popular 9/10 girls
>they played with the camera function throughout entire gym class, nearly got it taken away by dyke teacher
>finally manage to get it back after an hour
>mfw nearly 100 new photos
>mfw when they took pictures of themselves naked in the locker rooms and forgot to delete them.
I still have them saved on my ds to this day.
>had a really chill english class in senior year, play pokemon diamond/pearl with a guy who brought his pink ds light in every day.
It was that, or elite beat agents or mario kart, lots of fun that was.
It's hilarious how /v/ thinks that playing video games in public is the worst thing. Unless people already have a really poor impression of you, finding out that you play video games won't change a damn thing. You can't live your life for other people.
>In 4 years saying 30 years ago will be refering to the 90's
I did that, then again I'm not fat and I'm a black guy so I guess that's why I was fine.
That brings back memories.
Turns out, after school the kids had set up what was essentially a gambling/card game den.
Never bought a single card, but I sure as fuck ended up with a full deck.
>That kid who forgot to save and takes a mental fit in class when he died, destroying his DS
By the way, pic for your info to be honest
Not in Canuckistan...
>tfw I bought a USB stick to high school with VBA on it
>tfw playing Wario Land 4 during a boring english lesson
Niggas wish they were on my level.
>posting a photo of yourself on 4chan to feel better about yourself after receiving compliments from the gay bear chasers
>brought DS on the bus
>mfw playing Mario Kart DS with the football players
My high school was the fucking best
Mario Kart ds download play was the most fucking smartest addition ever. No joke it came out at the right time and on the right console. It just got so much use, in my case, that when I think DS i also think mario kart
>on carpool ride with other people I haven't met from school in a 4 hour trip
>leave my 3ds at home because I don't want to appear like a stereotypical nerd that plays vidya
>turns out 3 people in the van brought theirs and we're playing smash most of the way
I bought my Magic cards to school one day and a teacher thought it was Yugioh
>"Is this some of that Japanese crap, anon?"
>No, MtG is an American game.
>"Does it involve gambling?"
>"Oh, never mind, then."
>tfw always took my GBA to school in highschool
>everyone else hated me for it and would beat me for playing video games
>after high school swear off portable technology
>tfw everyone uses smartphones now
>go to college
>everyone has a 3DS
I want to kill myself but I'm too lazy
>Bring DS to school plus multiplayer game
>Open up multiplayer lobbies
>There's a room up
>take handheld to school
>play with other classmates
>years later, take handheld to work
>play with coworkers
>8 player Mario Kart
>Metroid Prime Hunters multiplayer
>Sonic Rush multiplayer
>only losers played Diamond/Pearl so I'm not mentioning it
Why was the DS the GOAT multiplayer system?
>played gameboy in public during middle school
>played DS in public during high school
>play 3DS and Vita in public all the time
>don't give a shit what random people think about me
>still considered social and charismatic
>That one kid who played Touhou in class
>tfw he was you
>campus is dominated by hardcore Nintendo fans
>play my Vita in front of them while my 3DS sits on my lap
>dirty looks from everybody
>I am sweating and feeling uncomfortable while thinking I probably have the smuggest face on campus at the moment
>not bringing your video games to school
This. I learned that people will make fun of you for any reason anyway if they already dislike you, so there's no point in trying to avoid their ire.
>dad hated vidya
>took AV cables connected to my tv for whichever Nintendo/Sony system I had plugged in whenever he left
>previous consoles used the same cables so I had spares
They wanted to be cool. This happened to my cousin recently and it really hurt me, for some reason.
>Hey Ken. The new Metal Gear Solid is out. It's going to have multiplayer like MGS4.
>"I really don't watch anime anymore."
>Oh, uh... alright. Never mind.
Don't know if he had realized MGS was an anime game or had just completely forgotten what it was, but I was a bit saddened, regardless.
There's a difference between doing something and just being obnoxious. And if they were that annoying, at that point, it doesn't matter what they were doing. They could have been discussiong baseball,a nd people still would have been bothered by it.
Man, Beyblade sure was short-lived. Bit of a shame since everyone making crazy custom tops with Blu-Tack for added weight and other shit like that and then destroying other people's tops (literally breaking the plastic) was fun stuff.
I did, funnily enough I made every male bring out pokémon the next day.
Even the edgy commie who would go to every manifestation for the sole purpose and destroying innocent people's cars using some random ass excuse.
The fad eventually died though.
>Bring DS with COD 4 on a holiday in elementary school
>Since it's Valentine's day, we can just fuck around
>Everyone plays COD 4 over DS download play with me
>Trade Pokemon with classmates
>Show off my "massive" collection of games
>People actually talk to me
>Teachers don't care
>Day after, everyone resumes and goes back to treating me like shit.
God, I fucking miss those days. It was like Christmas.
>DS? What the fuck is that? We play Counter Strike
>PSP? What the fuck is that? We play League of Legends
>3DS? What is that? We play CS:GO
>tfw never met anyone who had a different console than a PC or PS3
Welcome to Europe, where console gaming got popular in seventh generation.
>acquaintance and classmate that stressed all the time about life
>stressed out about his public image and others opinions
>pressure from his parents on his direction/career
>acted extremely ashamed of his nerdy hobbies
>tfw he died in a car wreck not too long ago
I wonder if he cared what people thought when he was fading. I wonder if he regretted living his life that way. It makes me sad.
>tfw no one in my school brought their vidya but me
Looks like I really missed out, huh?
Lol i took a pic of this loser on the subway playing a ds. Fuckin fag diidnt even know I took the pic
>school has "Channel One News" where shady fucking companies sneak into schools and advertise at the impressionable minds of America
>fifteen minutes during second period spanish of this shit
>NOT playing Tetris DS with your friends during this time
And there hasn't been a better Tetris game since.
This reminds me, does anyone have the greentext story about the anon who bought and used a metal beyblade knockoff against his friends?
I dunno, the guy seems pretty well kept.
the only loser i see is the one who is sperging out about someone not sitting with their hands on their lap doing nothing on a subway car and taking creepy photos of others.
>That kid who brought his Vita to high school
>someone asks what he's playing
>IM PLAYING PROJECT DIVA
>tfw my idiot weeb friends still do this, and watch shit like Sword Art Online and RWBY at the back of the class
>Last day of primary school was toy day
>Always brought in a Gameboy with tons of games, and soon a Advanced when it came out.
>Everyone wanted to play my shit on that day and I became super popular
Those were the days.
Surprisingly, no one ever stole it.
>tfw was that kid
>tfw had half the school library behind me watching
>tfw me playing got everyone else to bring their handhelds
>tfw multiplayer DS games during reccess and lunch
>tfw made a bunch of new friends because of it
minimum starting pay for teachers here is 55k a year. Thats double what 75% of American jobs pay these days. And retirement, you continue to make 80% of your ending salary for the rest of your life
Thats in Texas.
>e and best friend used to bring our DS to year 11-12
>We used to battle at Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents every day at lunch
>People started to gather and be impressed at our skills
>Friend got gf and stopped playing DS with me
>forget I had 3DS in backpack and go to school
>streetpassed some random autist in my grade, let's call him Ian
>Ian walks up to me and says he streetpassed me and tries talking to me about Pokemon or Mario Kart or some shit
>deny everything since my locker was next to qt girl I liked and I didn't want to look like an autist like Ian
>decide to see how stupid this kid really is
>change Mii to a Mii with the name of some kid a few lockers down
>sure enough Ian goes over to the kid and tries to talk to him about pokemon while the kid has no idea what the fuck he's talking about
>keep doing this for weeks, every day a new random kid
>change Mii to the 50-something year-old math teacher me and Ian both had
>Ian walks up in the middle of a fucking math test and starts asking the teacher for his friend code to play Mario Kart
You guys are lucky to have schools that are into vidya. My high school was filled to the brim with dudebros and spics who think playing Call of Duty makes them superior and better at calling others out.
>that one kid who put his mouth on the water fountain
>that one kid who kept drinking even when he heard a toilet flush
>Parent hates vidya
>Every time they wanted to punish you, all they ever did was take them away
>Just went and did something else, confident that I'd never be punished any other way
Felt good to be quite honest.
>Tfw playing CS 1.6 on the programming class's network
Dammit, anon. I miss those days.
We hooked up once, went about as well as you'd expect for 2 drunk 16-year olds at their first time, she moved like a week later though. I talk to her on facebook occasionally, which is all I really use that piece of shit site for anymore.
>I'm just pretending to be their friend
You're probably just as autistic
Do you just say words without knowing their definition?
Baseball really depends on regions, when I lived in southern Illinois the baseball leagues were really big and our school put the most funding towards it, but when I moved to Texas it was mainly football.
Fair enough. The school I went to was incredibly competitive both athletically and academically, so everyone talked about everything. Hell, we had so many Asians/Indians that cricket was almost as popular as soccer.
I'm aware of the no education part, the term social outcast just didn't spring to mind. People still talked about baseball a lot though. I'm in texas BTW.
>play MK DS with some friends after school
>Spin around like a retard while stuff was loading
>fingers slip and accidentally SO LONG, GAY BOWSER my DS
>Hits a chair mid-flight
>mfw DS was completely unfazed and was still running
How the fuck is it not normal? Unless you are stuck in some shit Community College where anyone can get into, I don't see how having fun in College is not a social norm where you attend at.
>mfw the school autist and his sperg squad brought a whole TV and wii
>pretending to be another's friend because "LOL THEY AMUSE ME XDD"
That's probably the shittiest, lowest, autistic thing a person can do to another in your age group, you should be fucking ashamed of yourself.
