>call a dinosaur a wyvern
Yeah sure alright.
Monster Hunter thread
It's not wyvern in the literal sense of "This is a two-legged dragon-esque-thingy with wings instead of arms".
It's wyvern in the sense of "we call all large beasts with scales wyverns in this world."
Hence why Jinouga/Zinogre is called a "Fanged Wyvern", amongst other things.
Also because all of the O.G. monsters, other than the Dromes and Dragons which were not called Wyverns, were actual literal wyverns.
>mfw seeing Frenzied Black Gravios for the first time
That wasn't a monster. That was a shape, a void, a fucking hellmouth. And it was angry.
Where were you when Barioth is confirmed for Frontier?
The only monster I want in the main series from Frontier.
As soon as Nintendo stops holding the monopoly on dual screened portable systems, and as soon as the Japs stop being mobile gamers.
It's sorta like how we humans call this giant lizard a Komodo Dragon even though it doesn't have wings or blow fire.
It's a mythos thing OP.
YOU CALL IT A WYVERN BUT ANYONE CAN CLEARLY THAT IT'S A WOLF
Lefties generally have quicker response time. You don't want to be slow around an angry animal, do you?
Yeah I heard it looked fine, but this was the problem.
The game doesn't have this.
Was it a lie? Did /v/ lie when they told me to not bother with it because it lacked this and thus it wasn't a real monster hunter game?
Make it stop, they're our monsters.
They won't even share their own few good monsters with us anymore, it's not fair.
>, seeing it's an integral part of MH gameplay.
Which is why /v/ told me the chinese game was shit. Read my post again now that you are in the position I am.
He is actually confirming it!
I hope you don't get that part you want.
>they even got barioth now
Enjoy your premium shit, nintenyearold faggots.
keep lining up yoshinori's pocket with cash, maybe one day he will release frontier for the west.
Just kidding that faggot jap hates you westerners more than he hates good profit. You get the picture now, yeah?
>people who stand in a corner of the map with HH and do nothing but play songs
>in fucking G rank
As a HH main, this pisses me off immensely. I wish I could kick people mid game for using their weapon completely fucking wrong
Me before I hit G. Currently using rainbow Regios X. A different mix set when I feel like using my bow.
What the fuck are you even talking about anymore
Monster hunter online is an mmo monster hunter game
It has all the standards you expect to see from an mmo adaptation of a franchise, so if you have ever played an mmo you know what to expect
>See how same attack on different parts give you different numbers.
Still doesn't confirm hitzones you dumbfuck. Any number of systems and mechanics could be involved in that.
>A MH game with damage numbers is the last game you want to say to have no hitzones.
Yet until they're confirmed factually, we can assume they don't exist and that the game is cancer.
I'm sorry if it's upside down, that happens sometimes.
Everything except for the Tetsu pants are set to rainbow
Is there any gameplay of Lagi in MHX yet? I'm glad he's back, but I don't know how I feel about him being land-only.
Still liking your half-angel half-demon furry wrestler.
>It has all the standards you expect to see from an mmo adaptation of a franchise, so if you have ever played an mmo you know what to expect
I dont' want a mmo, I want a monster hunter game
Is this >>315342261 in the game or not?
Your entire argument is "its a monster hunter game of course its in!" well, where is it? Its being developed by an entire different team, hell an entire different country, its a mmo. Just because it has the IP name doesn't mean its literally the same than the MH games I like. It would be foolish to assume its the same game just because it has Monster Hunter in the title.
He isn't me by the way, even though I agree with him in a less aggressive way.
You sure? I don't want to bother doing a quest with every weapon type to check. All shield weapons hold the shield in the right hand, and I think all two handed weapons are held in a left hand domination grip.
These constant threads lately have made me happy.
All of the sickass Daora weapons
most of which are rusted/weathered, and require 20-30 earth crystals each
>meh tier: IG
I can't wait for MHX when they nerf IG and give everyone jumping abilities, simply because then I can be a stylish staff user without people bitching that its broken or the weapon of frenchies.
>MHX when they nerf IG
CB looks literally as good as it is right now from what little has been shown.
GSfags better watch out; Daddy Capcom is getting pretty fond of the new baby.
My GL cluwnsuit. I bet by now the dlc is out so I could get the fatalis gunlances but I dont have much motivation to go back.
There really is no reason to give a single fuck about Barioth when there is already Nargacuga which is more challenging, more fun and more unique with its tail sweeps.
Or they could buff him a bit and it would be a unique fight.
It's completely different to Kuga
Why would you like shit tier, outdated, unpolished, boring, retarded looking piece of shit MH1 monsters?
All of them are disgusting. Let's not even talk about Garuga, Basarios, Fatalis, Kushala.
Kirin is a trash monster, and it's only redeeming factor is the super slutsuit that is it's LR/HR armor.
>that could be godly (great core mechanics) but doesn't realize its potential.
Because you have to do a few item collecting quests the first 20 hours in a game that easily has combat for 2000 hours?
Are you retarded?
This. I've played with some great LS, GL, Bow, HBG, and IG users that weren't french. It's a shame how the majority of people flock to weapons like GS instead of trying out weapons that are more fun like Hunting Horn.
You do a quest to make a well done steak and then a quest to gather items to make a mega potion to get out of 1* quests and then you're free.
You have to do Egg quest to get HR Caravan Crimson Fatalis, though
>This has always been and will always be the absolute truth.
Way to show how you've never played any game other than 4u.
The series has been extremely unbalanced at first and has become just slightly unbalanced on the current gen.
>grind against repetitive monsters
What does this even mean? What makes bosses with around 6 hitzones, 20 different attackes they can combo up differently and three different modes that alter all those attacks repetitive? And how is fighting bosses in a game that's basically a PvE fighting game a grind?
Iv actually played since the first MH. Many weapons have been unbalanced at different times but tier lists have never been correct and a good hunter always does better than a shit hunter regardless of weapon.
But thanks for showing you know nothing about MH and are trying so desperately to fit into some shitty outdated meme.
>that don't have any early game grind
You're a dumb ass.
The fact you can take the same approach to all of them in the early game and beat them without trouble? Using a GS I'd just bait out attacks and then hit them. It didn't test my mental abilities or anything like that. Now the differences between them might widen later in the game, but the problem is that the game has to be entertaining enough to reach that point.
Elder Dragon means "We don't know what the fuck it is, but it's a walking natural disaster so go kill it".
Wyverns you can kinda see how different branches would evolve. Things like Barroth or the -ggis don't fly as much and their front limbs become less muscular like a flightless bird. Things like Tigrex overuse their front limbs for four-legged movement and if they no longer fly, it allows things like Zinogre to exist with more muscle on their front legs than back.
No fucking shit a good hunter will be better than a shitter, woop another revelation senpai. Do you even understand how tier list work?
Play the fucking games before you speak no sense, shit wasn't the 3-6 mins hunt difference than it is now, of course you'd know it if you'd played anything before 3u
If talking current MH/MH4U, GS is by far the best weapon, it works better than other weapons against basically 90 % the monsters in the game. Gore Magala, Shagaru Magala, Rathalos, Rathian, Azure, Pink; Fatalis, Mohran, the snake elder dragon, Zinogre, Rajang, Deviljho and more.
Usually only topped in clear time by guns when doing absolutely everything right and beingt autistic. Perfectly solo gunning is a chore and far from fun, though. What makes GS the best weapon is not only that it clears shit faster than other weapons, it's also extremely easy to use. Hell, you can just hit and run the monster's head the whole time with Crit. Draw and maybe Punishing Draw and you'll get a moderate clear time most the time.
MH4U is extremely imbalanced. One reason I don't like it that much. There are not enough monsters that are NOT good for GS. It's missing monsters like Ivory or Abyssal Lagiacrus with horns that make their faces too hard to hit and run for scrubs. Or Nargacuga that's just so fast, you are way better off using Dual Blade.
Worst thing is that Hammer is absolutely terrible since MH3U because the Superpound was nerfed and other weapons now for some retarded reason do more KO damage.
>It's fucking repetitive as fuck.
Never said it was difficult, retard. There's more than enough variety between monsters that it would only be repetitive if you went out of your way to make it.
Now actually play the game.
When excellent gameplay with varied monsters and monster movesets and huge areas with varied sub-areas is repetitive to you, no one is forcing you to play the game.
Everyone here thinks you are a retard.
Why are you here?
CB and IG are just as good for clear times.
If you're in a group, using an inferior weapon isn't going to extend the fight that much longer. As long as you're good enough to keep hitting, you're going to contribute enough.
That said, 140 quests have ruined any sort of fun in endgame. You NEED an IG to make shit go smoothly (or a lance)
I get what you're saying, but I feel like this would only be a giant issue for someone focused on clear times themselves and not out of the enjoyment of the weapons themselves, though I'm not protecting the idea of weapons ever getting nerfed.
What am I supposed to say to someone who's either lying about early-game monster variety, or such a dumbass that he doesn't see the similarities in their movesets?
That sentence literally made me chuckle. What a joke. Just fuck off.
CB is currently the best weapon, assuming sperg sets and playing perfectly. Knock outs + good element/status, plus capable of a comparable wake up attack.
It's just that CB requires absolute perfection to achieve this top tier ability. Meanwhile GS's simplicity + top tier power makes it better.
Charm is Fast Charge +5 with 3 slots
and with a 3 slot weapon I can gem in 5 2-point gems for something like Tremor Res, Speed Sharpener
>CB and IG are just as good for clear times.
Fastest Jap speedruns are GS when talking basically all the monsters I mentioned. Especially Shagaru, Rajang, Raths, Zinogre.
CB and IG should be better because it was more or less their debut game and it should make those look good and interesting but they usually aren't better at all. And don't ignore how easy GS is, you don't have to use your brain at all, you just have to know the monster well enough, that's all. The weapon itself is completely flat.
>That said, 140 quests have ruined any sort of fun in endgame. You NEED an IG to make shit go smoothly (or a lance)
Only when talking Apex monsters which you shouldn't do anyway because they're fucking awful. But even those can be cleared with just GS in better times than with IG.
Check out this .somewhat..."baum" guy or "Devil" on Youtube. They have the best speedrun times, I believe.
>It's just that CB requires absolute perfection to achieve this top tier ability. Meanwhile GS's simplicity + top tier power makes it better.
This and that it also seems to be simply... better considering how all the best Rajang or Shagaru, Raths and Zinogre speedruns are GS (or HBG).
MH is an imbalanced piece of shit currently. It needs more monsters with heads too hard for blades and Hammer actually being not terrible again.
Longsword and Greatsword are righty.
If I recall, the bowguns are righty, too.
I know for a fact the Bow is righty.
The Charge blade holds the shield in the right hand, but when you switch to an axe, it's held righty.
People who don't care about what weapons people use unless they're disruptive as hell
People who fucking suck at the weapon they use and are disruptive as hell to the entire group, go full Karen-fag mode when called out
>You haven't even played the game.
I don't know who I should believe here. Myself who has played the game, or some ass who likes to make shit up about his interlocutors because he doesn't like what they have to say.
Or heads (or whatever is the biggest weakzone) that are simply not exposed the whole time and monsters just being TOO FAST for GS charge attacks. Ivory Lagiacrus with its fucking thunder attacks the whole time and Nargacuga are good examples.
>People who contribute to the hunt; People who ensure the best performance.
>People who purposely cripple themselves.
You could go to all hunts naked with a rare 1 GL and still win, but fuck it if you thing you are worth anything to a group.
Fuck. Fighting Ivory Lagiacrus with a Gun Lance was pure fucking fun.
Is there even a monster in MH4U Gun Lance makes sense for and lets you achieve clear times as good as GS clear times?
Attack up Medium
Speedruns are a whole different thing, GS is the best if you're considering those.
The average player that's mastered weapons it may not be, GS is simple yet I hardly see any people use charge points like in the older games, they wait for the safer options, when the monster is immobile.
For these players using another weapon might be a better option, and maybe contribute more. I convinced my friend to pick up HGB and he's been doing much more with that.
The only raisan I bought up GQs was that it changes the meta of the game dramatically, especially at end game. End game on 3U was much more fun.
I don't know who I should believe here. Myself who has played the game, or some ass who likes to make shit up about his interlocutors because he doesn't like what they have to say.
>GS is simple yet I hardly see any people use charge points like in the older games, they wait for the safer options, when the monster is immobile.
>tfw a few days ago that if I stand right behind a Tigrex at the end of its tail after it stops running, I can get a draw attack level 3 charge off right when it turns around every time
Is this what gitting gud feels like?
This is what it feels like when you realize current MH is completely imbalanced and GS broken in every way.
Yes, Tigrex should never be hunted with something that is not a GS.
Btw, it's also one of those monsters that are actually easier to fight when flashed, even in rage mode, same with Diablos, for example.
That's the one, It made Tiggy in FU a complete joke, you'd get the stagger every time as well.
I get roughly the same time with a CB with tiggy due to all those delicious GPs. A SA with evasion works well too.
>>missing out on all the free level 3 charge hits with GS when fighting gigantic elder dragons
Sure, but unlike most elders you don't have an accessible hit zone for a good part of the hunt. With GL I guess you could just stick to whatever shit zone for the whole hunt and spam charged lvl5 Wide shells
Okay lets review
The key quest monsters are
>G. Jaggi - has it's own moveset, maybe you can slightly count that off because he shares moves with the Jaggia
>Seltas - has it's own moveset
>Velocidrome: Gen 1 Bird Wyvern
>Kut-Ku: Chicken Wyvern
>Kecha - A Fanged Beast with its own unique moveset
>Tetsu - An Amphibian, a new species for MH4 with a unique moveset
>Basarios : Gen 1 Flying Wyvern
>Gypceros: Chicken Wyvern
>Gendrome: Gen 1 Bird Wyvern
>Nerscylla: Has it's own moveset
>Pseudo fight with Gore Magala which only takes a few minutes maybe
>Congalala: Fanged Beast with a different moveset compared to Kecha
>Zamtrios: Amphibian with its own unique moveset with maybe 1 move shared between it and Tetsu
>Najarala: Snake Wyvern with it's own unique moveset
>Pseudo fight with Gore Magala that takes maybe a few minutes
>Actual fight with Gore Magala: Has his own unique moveset
>Gravios: Gen 1 flying wyvern
>Zinogre: The only Fanged Wyvern. Has his own unique moveset
>Seltas Queen: Has it's own unique moveset
>Yian Garuga: Chicken Wyvern/Rathian hybrid
>Frenzied Congalala: introduction to Frenzy as a mechanic
>Frenzied Tigrex: Gen 2 flying wyvern with a moveset not shared by any other monster in Low Rank
>And Finally Shagaru Magala: Gore Magala's Moveset with some new twists
They aren't very similar
>Sure, but unlike most elders you don't have an accessible hit zone for a good part of the hunt.
Isn't either the head or tail reachable 90 % the time? Even when you can jump on him which everyone does when they have the chance, you can just stay where the head is and, when you time it correctly, land level 3 charges on its head until it falls over... which means 20 seconds more level 3 charges on its head. And when it's exposing its chest and going wild, you can jump and do mid-air attacks to hit its head the whole time until it falls over again.
And it doesn't matter how often you have to fight them or how similar they are. If you don't enjoy at least fighting 70 % the monsters in the game and just enjoy fighting them for the sake of fighting them and gameplay, you should not play Monster Hunter anyway. Only retarded casuals play it for the grind and fancy armors (which of course are great, too, especially due to armor mixing).
Why is it OK to fight against the same boss in curazy games like Bayonetta or DmC or do the same level a million times in Donkey Kong Country or other platformers or race the same race in racing games but it's somehow "a boring grind" when fighting the same, awesome bosses in MH over and over again and getting better and learning all the weapons?
Daily reminder this is+ü the hardest thing a video game has ever done unless you cheese it somehow or have already played Monster Hunter for 6000 hours.
I haven't played in at least 3 months now, and i'm worried about going back since I feel like I forgot all my best combos and whatnot and I don't wanna shit things up for other people's quests.
Is MH3U still worth playing? Skipped it and played 4 for a while but I feel tempted to try it now that I have Wii U. Would be nice to play on a tv again. Are the servers still up and for how long? Would I be fucked like with Tri if the servers were to shut down and lock me out of content?
Mostly the same shit that makes every GQ Apex fucker hard, you don't know where you bounce and where you don't, you're under pressure the whole time because your stones only last a minute, crazy damage output and defense/health. Now Apex Zinogre has those disturbing orbs that still hunt you in your dreams while making that fucking noise.
It also helps that he of course is based on G Rank Zinogre which already has a handful of new moves and changes most people that are new to MH4U aren't used to yet. I stopped counting how many people got killed by his breakdance move after he lay on his back because they all thought it's an opening but it's only an opening when he isn't in rage mode. One-hit kill.
I was always worse at Apex Jho.
>gq140 double jho
>hellruin for blast damage
>can't get red essence without popping drive wystone
>jho naturally punishes defensive play with massive attacks
>takes balls of steel to sit underneath an apex jho and risk a one-hit kill though
>need permanent smoke bombs lest two of them gang-rape you
>can't see shit with smoke and can't make out jho's tells
>feel claustrophobic and panicked
>any slip-up will result in a cart
Homing lightning ain't got shit on that terror.
>>can't get red essence without popping drive wystone
That shits me to tears. Why the fuck would they do that. God forbid I fuck up and can't get it by the time the stone is up
I enjoyed the difficulty but generally Apex was a shit concept that also just made some weapons compeltely useless and retarded. Especially hammer which is all about KOing monsters.
>oh shit, no more magic stone power
>can't hit head anymore
>well, let's hope the KO value isn't all lost in 2 minutes when I can attack the head again
And you also need another stone for KO damage. Jesus.
Its only the GQ version that are hard and it because it starts fully charged, spams pink bugs that para you and do half your life and it has a crazy hip check that would make eve Plesioth blush. The Fury on the Mount version isn't to bad since it doesn't start out charged. Also its soft points are not its weak points so it can be pretty damn annoying to fight without Drive.
Are there any actually decent armor sets that let me see my Hunter's head and/or face? I spent some time giving him this seasoned vet look, but instead I get a lovable goof in armor during cutscenes.
I'd even be willing to practice a new weapon type for this.
Where were you when Frontier fixed Deviljho?
Fffffuck. I seriously considered making a female hunter back when I started, but decided to go with badass armor > sex appeal. I'm too invested in this guy to make an alt though, because I know the moment I do I'll be bored to tears trying to raise her up.
None of my friends with 3DSs have MH, so I've nobody to rush me. Might be nice to start fresh sometime, if I can find some headcanon to motivate me I guess.
The armor is the Relic Rebellion chest/arms/legs/waist and the Relic Storge helm.
It comes with Edge Lore and Edgemaster, while my Talisman gives me Evasion +1.
It's a general SnS set.
>Double Black Gravios quest as an SnS main
The most ridiculous horseshit imaginable
>Bitching about balance in a co-op only game
>Bitching this hard about Monster Hunter's fairly light balance issues
Every monster can be solo'd with every weapon type while naked. Every weapon is viable. The only place where 'balance' even comes into anything is in speedrunning, and nobody cares if sperglord sanic faggots have a balanced game because they're always going to pick whatever is optimal even when it's optimal by only a minute fraction of a percentage.
Wyverns are what they call large four limbed reptiles (excluding tails), dragons are 6 limbed, but there aren't enough non-Elder Dragon dragons (the only one is Gore Magala who is in the ??? group)
True/Flying Wyverns have wings as the their forelimbs, Brute Wyverns have arms, Bird Wyverns a raptor shaped.
Meet me at the arm wrestling barrel, punk. I'm putting your ass on the floor.
Ash Kecha has removed any sympathy I had for both of them. They must be hunted down.
How is it that Monster Hunter threads get very, very minimal console wars shitposting?
Every other console exclusive (Nier Automata, Bloodborne, etc) gets shitposted to death with console wars.
I SnS on the side, but I'd really like to get better with it. Are there any tips or videos I can watch to improve my game?
Is it all about attacking the legs? Because that's all you can hit on most monsters. Some things (like Gravios species) I can't imagine ever fighting with one.
>tfw I can use full Seltas Xand get Razor Sharp, Sharpness+1, Challenger+2, AuS and Artillery Expert thanks to my charm
>never have to fight Garuga unless i want to
never want to
>Reach the end of G rank, don't really want to decipher scrolls or do 140's
>Friend keeps going
>I keep getting horror stories back from him about randoms he meets
One of my recent favorites is how he got kicked out of a room for not having the "Immortal" set that had fucking Sneak on it.
I never watched any videos, but uh
You need an SnS for literally every situation. It's not like hammer, GS, SA, CB, Lance, GL, etc where you can just grab the heaviest beater and hunt whatever. It's more like a DB or Bow; if a monster is weak to lightning, you NEED to take a lightning weapon. It's not a suggestion; it's mandatory. Learn weak points as well. You need to maximize damage at all times.
USE YOUR FUCKING SHIELD. It's the 2nd weakest shield in the game after the GS, but its a shield none the less. Attacks that would cart you do piss weak damage when blocked. If you slide, you're invincible for all but the ass end of the slide. You can block just about everything but outright lasers. Stiggy Ziggy bolts, Gypceros toxic spit, Rath fireballs, etc. If you aren't sure what to do, face the monster and hold R, then wait it out. This includes shit like Kushala Daora's tornadoes. If you block while in a tornado and don't get bullshitted by it, you'll slide back a bit, pushing yourself out of what would have carted anybody else (excluding Lance and GL bros. CB users forget they have a shield outside of guard points) for minimal damage.
Go for mount attacks like you were French; using the lunge attack against a ledge launches you up with one mount attack, and you can attack again on the way down for a second. Mount knockdowns are literally the only way you'll be able to get some breaks. The auto climb height for this is surprisingly high, too.
Some monsters, like the Gravios or Basarios, are just hard to deal with because their weakpoints are too high for you to get to, and what parts you can reach are bounce zones. There is nothing you can do about it. That's why I have a pocket
GSfor times where the SnS just cannot perform.
Ultimately you are playing a safer, more resourceful DB. You don't have the DB's damage, but the DB can't moonwalk away from carts with a single button.
Black Gravios is a chore to see since you have to fight it in what has to be objectively the worst area in the game
Even if you don't mind the fact that Volcanic Hollow is dark as shit and that the main area is ledge city, the fact that it is a recolor of Sunken Hollow is indefensible.
Also Gravios a shit
Jho's difficulty was reduced to laughable levels when you realized the safest place is directly underneath him.
So Frontier goes and makes him not only faster and more mobile, but then makes a lot of his attacks affect the area underneath him.
Yeah, press A and you leap directly backwards. Press attack and you do a generic leap attack.
For literally any weapon to have near Frog Stick mount attack spam, roll against a climbable surface, mash A until you grab the wall, continue mashing to jump off the wall, and then hit attack. This works even when your weapon is out and is probably the quickest way to sheath things like GS, SA, CB, and GL.
>I have a pocket GS for times where the SnS just cannot perform.
I'm an SnS main too, but yeah I can't deal with Gravy while playing it.
I always keep a Water LBG set on hand for those fuckers.
>press a and you leap directly backwards
Uh, no. I meant CLIMBING up an actual, grippable wall, and then standing up, and leaping upwards. I could swear it used to be possible.
>3ds is objectively the worst console when will it get off the nintendo gimmick systems and come back to a sony console like the good old days
And so on. That happens in /mhg/ all the time.
It's nothing compared to the levels of shitposting that other console exclusives get.
Shitposting in MH threads usually makes up about 10-15 percent of the threads at the very most. That's it. Everyone else is discussing or playing the game.
But in games like Bloodborne? On /v/, shitposting usually takes up at least 50 percent of the thread. For every post discussing the game, there is a shitpost (oftentimes two).
More people = more views
More views = more shitposting
MH is still pretty niche. So its shitposting is minimal. Most of its contained to weapon faggoty which has become less and less of an issue since the balancing has gotten better.
Lance has no forward dodge, only the side and back hops.
In turn why good evade lancers are known for the near instant ability to spin in place so that they can back hop through attacks.
Getting infinite stamina and back hopping across areas is always a blast too.
>mfw hunting online with DBs and there is an HH user with a horn that has a Infinite Stamina song
ALL OF THE HIGH OF DASH JUICE
NONE OF THE COST
I CAN QUIT WHENEVER I WANT
>tfw evade lancing
>2 back hops into a big backhop
>monsters can literally never hit you
>find a party with not one, but two DB users
>play neg stam
You fucks are fun to hunt with.
Thanks for helping me with my addiction, HH bro. Between Negate Stamina and Attack Up (L), I haven't touched a Demon Drug or Dash Juice in weeks.
Wait what? I thought that shit stacked. OH WELL, TIME TO FARM SEEDS
No problem. The gods of rock demanded a show.
The entire franchise has sold 32 million copies worldwide. With MH4 alone, it sold 4 million copies in a year in Japan after its release.
It's sold more copies as a franchise than Mega Man (30 million), The Elder Scrolls (27 million), Uncharted (21 million) or Souls (10.2 million).
Here's what I used as my entry-level bow set.
Have you accepted Kut-Ku as your own personal savior today?
I've been using stygian zinogre for my bow set for a while. Load up, Evasion +1, that one skill that gives you an attack boost at full health and a few slots.
With a fastcharge +5 talisman I was lucky to find early on, I added focus to it. The only downside is needing at least one slot on a bow for a medicine jewel so my potions don't get gimped.
I've been thinking on how I could improve it for a while now.
I weaned myself off of evasion skills on my Bow in favor of more attacking skills. It was harsh at first, but I feel that the payoff was worth it. Especially in a group where I'm not always the target.
But I admit, I switch weapon for Tigrex. Akantor is fine, I'm always able to dodge that charge by the skin of my teeth and I get an adrenaline rush every time. But Tigrex? No thanks.
The armor set I made before attempting bows is this:
Regios Cap X
Kaiser Vest X
Black Belt Guards
Vangis Coat X
Velociprey Leggings X
With my FastCharge+5 OOO charm, I've got
If I had a FastCharge +6 OOO charm (or Normal Up +6 OOO) I could swap out the waist for EX Rathalos Coat and get all of that as well as Evasion +1.
I WANT THAT FUCKING CHARM
Man, I've got 220 hours in 4U and only ~133 awards.
This shit is gonna take forever. At least I don't need gold crowns specifically.
And fuck Apex Gravios. He took me 44 goddamn minutes to do.
>And fuck Apex Gravios. He took me 44 goddamn minutes to do.
1. Use the Seltas CB or Dahren CB
2. Have Guard Boost to block farts
3. Water Atk +3
4. Apex Gravios is dead in less than 15 minutes
And I'm not even a Japanese speedrunner.
I have an attack boost at full health, a fourth charge that affords me greater damage and a potentially very useful shot type that redeems otherwise pointless bows, and an evasion skill with focus.
You want me to give up focus for shot type up?
Almost identical to mine.
My charm is Normal Up +6 / Attack +11 O--. I'm satisfied with it as a whole.
REMINDER THAT IF YOU ARE A G CROWN HH HUNTER AND AREN'T USING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HUNTING HORNS:
OR A RELIC HORN YOU SHOULD START USING A BETTER HORN.
>tfw "git gud" ruined every opportunity to discuss the gameplay of MH
>tfw none of you are even that gud
>discuss the gameplay
>Waaah combat is slow, waaah it takes too long to beat a monster, there's no lockon, there's no health bar
Git gud just stops us from answering the same shitty arguements allday everday
I hope SnS gets some overall buffs to sharpness calculations.
Burning through sharpness is fine and all, but white/purple on most shit lasts 1 or 2 combos at best, and then you start bouncing
>Hey so I've soloed every ancient text with every weapon but going back to frenzied tigrex I notice I'm getting hit more frequently than other monsters of this caliber, what are the finer details to surviving this encounter?
>lel git gud
So how much do the wyverians actually know about the pre-war world? The lore paints them as stupidly technological advanced along with humanity but the war against the dragons ended in a scorched earth scenario and all sides got rekt back into the stone age.
I mean, artian mail and related weapons are made from the rusted husks of combat robots, dragonators are said to be ancient designs and not totally understood in terms of origin
Monster Hunter for the PS2 was the best Monster hunter game. /thread
>Right stick to attack
the rape train charge is really his only problem attack
best bet is to run and never stop running, use the pillars to slow him down
take out his tail ASAP and it's annoying
bring a water weapon because blast monsters are weak to it
I tried replaying it on my boyfriend's suggestion last year, never again. if I want my 1st/2nd gen fix Freedom Unite has literally all of its content.
>there will never be a FU HD .iso for use in PPSSPP with the higher res textures taken from the iOS version
I think they might be the original textures off the PS2 games, which were pretty high res at the time
they really oughta port that version to Vita.
Iwata paid for 3DS exclusivity contract with his life. The question is how much is his life worth?
reminds me that Jho weapons got nerfed too from 3U
>could get berserker blade (1k display raw blue sharpness gs) legitimately within the first hour of high rank by farming the one in Jaggia Menace several times and proceed to shit on everything until late high rank
That's the LS. I think that guy's been confused for using the aka GS for a while I bet.
Well, getting all the items for a G Narga weapon wasn't anything to sneeze at, and they all suffered from a sub-par raw.
But nothing is better than going into battle with Darkness Darkbalde.
The sword so edgy it cuts itself.
Ones you should aim for by end-game
Raw: Akantor, Ceadeus
Fire: Gold Rathian
Thunder: White Fatalis
Poison: Pink Rathian
Paralysis: Tigerstripe Zamtrios
Blast: Crimson Fatalis, Brachydios
>not chernobog's scythe
That's not discussing gameplay. That's asking for help which the correct answer to is git gud so we dont get overrun with scrubs asking for retarded advice.
>I noticed I'm getting hit more frequently
Speaking of asking for retarded advice. Get hit less.
if youve made it to hr7 with what you have with no issues then you dont really have to. you only really need one set for all of high rank. i used garuga s exclusively. dont worry about multiple sets until you get to g rank.
