Well /v/ I just bought my very first N64. What games should I buy? Goldeneye is a necessity, obviously.
Conkers Bad Fur Day
Diddy Kong Racing
Mario Kart 64
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
Ocarina of Time
Donkey Kong 64
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Everyone is going to suggest the obvious, so I'll pick up the slack and point out some pretty good multiplats as well.
THPS 1, 2, 3
Shadows of the Empire
Turok 1, 2
Rampage World Tour
Mega Man 64
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
Cruisn' USA, World, Exotica
Do NOT pick up Superman.
Damn of course those two zelda games. And yeah maybe the first banjo game, if i like it ill buy the second
no fucking way
definitely mario 64, maybe conkers. And is harvest moon 64 any good? i have it on ps1 but havent played it.
yeah definitely getting super mario 64
yeah definitely duke nukem
yeah a buddy of mine has yoshi's story, will give that a go. and definitely getting spiderman and mega man 64. Yeah not getting Superman 64
might try find a rom of it and give it a go before buying it.
Pop that plastic hood on the top and check for a red grate.
If you don't see red, you don't have a memory expansion pack (or it's by a third party, but fuck that).
because some games can't save your progress unless you have a memory pack, like Tony Hawk Pro Skater. You're gonna need the expansion pack for those 2 games I listed, if you don't have it they'll refuse to work, also I think it makes the console run smoother but don't quote me on that.
I'm not even sure how to respond to this. You're implying that I watch wrestling because I liked a game that came out 15 years ago? A fun game is a fun game regardless of what it's about. I'll be 31 in a few months. I haven't watched wrestling in quite some time. Stopped not long after the Benoit murders/suicide.
IIRC there was a Hot Wheels game that was fun too.
It'll use the same slot as a rumble pack, but I'm not aware of any memory cards that also rumble(?)
Looks like pic.
Some 3rd party memory packs are good and might be bigger, too.
no, a memory pack, but the rumble pack goes there too. you have to swap if you're playing a game that includes rumble.
Here ya go.
Game Sack has a bunch of videos that show different N64 games, so it would take me forever to sift through them.
this. please go to a friends house for a night, get some goldeneye matches going. also bomberman 64 if it gets stale.
Truly products of their time.
It's hard to find friends who can lower their graphical standards for a good night of gaming on an old system.
So instead of learning the controls and having a fun time, they'll be annoyed with the poor fidelity and quickly lose interest.
Somewhat melancholy that all those multiplayer games are now relegated exclusively to nostalgia for those of us with friends who "grew up".
>D5K, just inside some passage to exterior (probably the "hidden area" with body armor)
>unarmed, probably on the rooftop (not possible in Goldeneye iirc)
>Dostovei, interior just below the 2nd story window to the "high tier weapon" room
>Klobb, camping the catwalks
Can't remember that weapon set, but I'm surprised that's all still in memory.
>im 27 and most of my freinds are bored with modern games and they wish for games to be as hard as they used to be.
It's more difficult to make a really hard game because you can't just rely on the shitty controls handicapping the player.
3d games are always easier then 2d ones.
and that was highschool for me pretty much
I do not know if people have what it takes to design well designed difficult games naymore
I'm not much for looking back with nostalgia, but fuck, that music. I really wish my childhood friends were close by so we could have a round right now.
If you dislike the N64 controller I recommend getting one of these
I'm gonna get shit for this, but I'd recommend Quest 64. It's historically significant, in terms of the console. Play it first, and THEN look up information about it. It's quite possibly one of the most tragic stories of what could have been a Game of the Year title struck down by hurried production and corner cutting.
The soundtrack is really good though, I will say that much.
I seriously hope nobody considers this. One of the worst Blockbuster rentals I had.
