>don't worry goyim, everything that is advertised on the steam page is actually in the game from the start
>the only reason you haven't found those items yet is because they are hidden behind some ultra secret character :^)
>nvm lol we patched the rest in now
>buying binding of isaac again
>actually paying money for this
your own fault. gameplay design so simplistic only lasts for a few hours. if you thought more items were going to fix rudimentary basic gameplay design, you were wrong, and a sucker to begin with.
it takes zero time to make items for this game. seeing a 11 dollar price point on this is a joke. i thought it would be free.
Yes, there were over 40 items missing from the game and the dev made some stupid twitter posts hinting that there was actually a secret the players would have to solve but in the end they just updated the game and unlocked more items. He was also assmad because the last time he made an ultra secret character dataminers just found it and found out how to unlock him through datamining instead of his stupid puzzle.
>People ask where the rest of the contect is
>Edmund bitches at people for not trusting him
>today he released the rest of the content
>Edmund - Lol see it was there all along, I bet you feel stupid now for not trusting me
yeah i hit a wall where the idea of just standing there spraying shit wiht my little weak bullets just seemed like the least fun thing in the world anymore
and let's be honest who wants to play a run after more than a couple levels without getting damage items? that's why the general design is broken, sometimes the game is like "I don't feel like being fun this time"
I would not have any problems with items getting patched later on, but he just flat out lied to everybody by saying that we are just stupid and everythning is already in there.
oh well still waiting for the rest of the items
And the promised +100 new enemies, because isaw probably like 10+-
Afterbirth was advertised for having 120+ new items, not counting collectibles and the like.
When it came out, there were only 74.
The recent patch a couple hours ago upped to to 93.
I just issued a refund.
I don't even care about the drama surrounding missed features, locked-out content and Ed being a whiny baby about >muh datamining. It's just not a fun game, it's way too slow-paced and the only way to have fun is to spam R until you get some good damage up pickups on the first floor (and Ed is actively trying to patch out ways to deal good damage). Almost all the bosses are damage sponges and have no real strategy to them apart from circling the room.
I honestly have no idea how I racked up 60 hours on this before the DLC, coming back to it now it's such an enormously slow and sluggish game.
Afterbirth? More like Stillbirth, because this game is dead on arrival.
Supposedly this bullshit was going to fix EVERYTHING wrong with Rebirth, after Rebirth fixed EVERYTHING wrong with Isaac. At this point, I knew better, but I felt morally obligated to safeguard a future generation of potential victims from Isaac's shittiness by detailing how Afterbirth fails to deliver upon the expectations
>Edmund's freudian issues continue, items like the binky continue to expand upon Edmund's obsession with infantilization in a disturbing way much how like many items reinforced his corprophilia and urolangia.
>Voice acting for pill and card effects, superficial elements designed to attract and entertain small children and the mentally disabled
>New boss is a lazily done bullet hell, with Isaac's wonky hitboxes not getting hit without a defensive item like dry baby is stupidly difficult.
>Greed mode is literally 5 rooms plus a button to stand on to fight waves of enemies, fighting more is a no-brainer because if you can't tackle them and get devil rooms you're already fucked.
>Game can crash on a fucking PC with good specs if you have too many tear effects running at the same time.
>Fixes a minor number of bugs from rebirth as if that's supposed to be an accomplishment rather than patch notes for the version of the game everyone already paid for.
I'll just count the days until Isaac fanboys tell me how Isaac v4 will fix ALL the problems with this fucking turd of a game, like they have the past two iterations. In the meantime, don't buy this game, it's more full of shit than a big room with Card Against Humanity.
Good pasta, weak sauce, shit spaghetti.
So has anyone figured out the deal with secret rooms in greed mode?
I got one once, stepped in and there was no exit.
I mean I could get out with the fool card but that's besides the point.
>mfw rebirth is one of my favorite games
Fuck Edmund though, I'll be pirating any and all of his shit from now on. Fucking scumbag.
>Easy as fuck update that didn't even try to make the game harder
>Locks content for no reason
>Still more content is locked (unless he was lying about the item count)
Why are you still kissing Edmunds hairy asshole?
What's the coolest new item and why is it BLACK POWDER
>mfw using it for the first time and exploding three Pins instantly
>keeps jamming on the first penny
edmund you fuck
So can someone explain to me the outrage in terms that are rational and not knee jerk-y?
I understand time delayed content can be seen as a dick move, as people will feel entitled to all of it off the bat available for unlocking/finding, but if we are getting the content whats the issue besides Edmund being a bit of a dickhead?
Or is that it?
Whats the truth behind their cryptic messages given to fans? Was it an attempt to make people believe there was another ebin secret like The Lost to uncover and doing so would unlock the rest of the items?
Whats the deal?
Edmund got so butthurt that people solved his "300 dollar steak" Lost puzzle by datamining that he decided to arbitrarily lock content behind a timegate. He was not upfront about this, and he kept alluding to a mystery, saying stuff like "all the promised features on the steam page are true!" and dropping cryptic messages referring to the number 109.
I was pretty pleased with most of the changes Afterbirth brought, but this is a fucking awful thing for a dev to do. This is straight-up false advertising.
>refund afterbirth because I still have plenty of things to do in the base game + this whole situation makes me reconsider
>steam accepts refund, takes it away from my account
>still have access to all of the afterbirth content
So, does steam have the ability to actually delete the afterbirth files from my pc?
What? He simply released it?
I thought he would do some arg shit like he said before. It would make some sense because honestly what's the difference between unlocking shit already in the game and unlocking an update? People were getting butthurt over nothing.
But this? Just withdrawing content and releasing it after some time passed is just plain retarded.
It's the only way he could figure out how to deal with dataminers
Seems to be the biggest problem he can see and it all comes down to his own ego concerning secret items.
Better way of dealing with dataminers is to constantly release items, rather than complete 100 new ones then hold half of them back.
That really is astonishingly petty. It'd be one thing if he just said there was a time lock because shit wasn't finish but to not only hide it but lie about it is some childish bullshit, which you really can't afford to do when it comes to peoples money on a platform where people can take their money back instantly.
He's absolutely garbage now though. Nerfs would've been fine, but he can't even kill a spider with his laser now, AND it takes longer to charge.
Not to mention Lilith. Why the fuck did her active need a 4 room charge? 3 would've been fine.
>make a humorous reference
>epic conspiracy theories arise about how you're literally seething with rage over data miners
>people scream false advertising
Some Ed's customers are literally autistic.
Dark Bum is fine the way he is now, though. Azazel nerf was supposedly the result of a bug.
Lilith nerf is dumb though. It's a sign that devs are balancing around Greed Mode, which is worrying.
What the fuck kind of 'bug' locks out 40% of the items in the game? What the fuck kind of testing wouldn't notice this? What the fuck kind of dev refuses to acknowledge this until 4 days later?
So it turns out this little fucker is REALLY good.
I thought it'd increase the damage taken by anything in it's field. Turns out it deals damage instead. And I think it scales to your attack because I picked up Ipecac and it basically oneshots shit as it enters the room.
I haven't gotten far in isaac yet but I do have a question
If I haven't beaten say like blue baby on normal or hard yet. will the unlocks stack if I defeat blue baby on hard? Will it unlock both normal and hard items?
>What the fuck kind of 'bug' locks out 40% of the items in the game?
The game is still missing over 20 items that he promised
not to mention the +100 new enemies, because i only found maybe 15 new looking ones, rest are recolors
Nah, if you count the trinkets you get exactly the right amount of new items.
As for the enemies, stuff like "skeletons but they also explode" are counted as new enemies, I guess.
Oh well, last game i bought from Edmund.
Not gonna give more money to somebody who just lies and shit talks to his fanbase and customers just because he is butthurt over a secret that people found too early
>120 new items--not counting tons of new pickups, chests, pills, bombs and cards--taking the item count up beyond 500!
Nah, trinkets count. If you count all the new items and trinkets there's exactly 120.
Which is strange, because there's still data for a Keeper character. Does he not have any unlocks?
what about tothep?
some fan was making a desing for a custom level.
The company working with edmund contact that fan to work with them , and in his twitter he said that tothep was going to be on afterbirth
what the fuck happened?
