>Xbox emulation will never be on the level that Dolphin and PCSX2 are at
Post cool Xbox games you want to replay but can't be fucked to hook up the monolith to play.
>Microsoft will never come out with a new crimson skies games
>Microsoft to release 360 and HUEG emulators
>Windows 10 only
PCSX2 may be a mess in terms of its codebase or not accuracy focused enough or whatever it is you mean, but at the end of the day it's able to emulate 95% of the PS2's massive library well enough that you're able to play those games to completion. I've only run across two or three games where the software renderer did not produce an image identical to that given by an actual PS2.
I hate that Xbox generally always had the best versions of multiplats.
I finally caved and bought an original xbox
Otogi 1 and 2
Doa Beach volleyball
Kingdom Under Fire Crusaders and Heroes
Need to buy
Panzer Dragoon Orta
+ some of the more obscure games
>until the clock thing destroys my console forever
Can't you fix that before it happens?
Also, I want to buy a new Xbox huge but they're all the kind with shitty disc drives or are broken and being sold for parts.
>tfw managed to play all of Kameo without a 360 because of that 90% completed beta
Having a modded Xbox is the fucking best.
Are you fucking kidding? Xbox had a lot of exclusives, just not nearly as many as PS2 and GC. It made up for it by having better versions of multiplats and a controller that was friendly for people with big hands.
Whether or not they were worthwhile is subjective.
GC discs were still smaller than regular DVDs, which could lead to cuts in certain areas. Also the unique controller usually caused some issues with certain games when translated over. Xbox also had a better online system in place.
Also, trying to play PC versions of mutliplats from the PS2/Xbox/GC generation is usually extremely hit or miss nowadays.
Recently bought an xbox, plan on getting the best games I can. Posting list of notable games for anyone else looking to play some.
>I mean, I'd still play it if it was as bad as PCSX2.
>Having no standards and wanting to play around with a potentially shit emulator
Just buy an Xbox w/ an Action Replay, Splinter Cell and softmod that bitch.
>will never be
XQEMU is the only real emulator it's ever had, and it's just over a year old, you impatient fuckwad. This is why emu developers just stop giving a fuck and drop their projects.
>Conkers live & reloaded would look so good in high resolution
I don't know. The fur is like Starfox Adventures - it's intended for CRT screens. It doesn't look quite right in HD.
There were 6 active Xbox emulators at one point, one of them was actually capable of booting into a dozen games and getting past the menu. You could play some levels in HALO years back. Development stalled on all of them, most of them were abandoned, all due to lack of interest in the platform.
Kameo looked so good for a 6th gen game
It's funny how it could render all that grass yet PS3/360 games tended to look like pic related
I'm more afraid of buying an Xbox again. Since all of them tend to have that disc tray problem.
Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix because my PS2 version runs at like 25fps, no 16:9 widescreen, no progressive scan, resolution is low, and the fucked up aspect ratio makes everything look like ovals.
>ctrl+f Unreal Championship 2
thanks anon. I'm gonna do it!
Beyond Good and Evil was comfy as fuck on a console
Just remove the capacitor associated with the clock on the motherboard. The problem is that it leaks fluid which can damage the motherboard, but if you remove it you wont have that problem.
Because American corporations are pussies.
Being a corporation means you have to increase your profits every year and even if you are making billions, if you didn't increase your profits from last year, you're considered a bad investment.
Because of this corporations are unwilling to do anything that might turn off any consumer base so they become scared little bitches and censor things they think might affect sales.
Best game on the console.
So is Stranger's Wrath.
>be in middle school
>everyone has ps2
>I have Xbox
>4 player sessions of fusion frenzy, halo, and tiger woods golf were held in my garage every weekend
>those days will never happen again
This console was really good. I'm sad I missed out on a lot of games at the time, I need to pick one of these up again. Anyone got a good mod guide for it? Also what's the easiest waubto transfer save content from one Xbox to another?
That's the gamecube version
Xbox version destroys it visually
Not everyone wants to deal with finding an Xbox in good condition with one of the 'good' disc drives and open it up to fix the ticking time bomb inside, and then have it sit and take up a huge amount of space near their TV.
>buying 3 extra controllers for your "friends"
I found a new crew of gamer bros, and we were wondering what the best local multiplayer games on Xbox was, lord knows modern consoles don't have any.
Already have Halo 1 and 2 and GHOST GOGGLES GHOST GUN.
Can be co op or vs, single screen or split, as long as its 2-4 players.
Post your games plz.
It's still a better option than waiting around for an emulator that'll just barley be able to play anything than tech demos. I don't understand this deal with being so insanely dependent on emulators when you can actually play on the real deal where everything will work 100% of the time. Quit being lazy and just pick one up!
Destroy all Humans 2
i can play the first one on my 360, but not the 2nd
You can understand why I have no faith in an Xbox emulator being taken to the point that Dolphin is currently at. It's always a pet project by like one or maybe two guys who eventually drop it due to 'real life'. Not enough people give a shit about Xbox emulation, and the problem will only get worse in the future.
What the fuck? Is there a story behind this?
There's a capacitor on the Xbox motherboard that eventually leaks and destroys your Xbox's insides
This is the best imo, but it's only 2 player split screen, you'd have to system link for 4 player.
>not sure should I get Shenmue 2 for the Xbox or Dreamcast
The later really is the original version. I'm not sure would Shenmue
feel righton a Microsoft system.
>thinking about getting a 360 to play Vanquish, DS, MGS3 and ZotE for the first time
>JSRF would make me totally pull the trigger because JSR is one of my fav games ever
>game has huge issues on the 360
OK so the laser on my Xbox hueg shitted out so it appears I could either:
Fix the laser
Mod the console so it can play games off a HDD
Which way should I go? Also, how do you put Xbox games onto a HDD? Sorry I've tried to Google this shit but haven't come across a clear answer
Some Xbox multiplats look so much better than PS2, like Wrath of Cortex, Just Cause, etc
It was cool back when devs took advantage of each system, instead of just 1 version & the differences being resolution
Not exactly, some of them were worse than the PS2 version, missing effects etc, few lazy shithead devs
But when they took advantage of Xbox, it was like a generation difference, bigger difference than you would see on recent cross gen games desu
>XQEMU comes around
>Ninja Gaiden Black is not the first thing they're working on
What the fuck are these retards doing?
>ninja gaiden black
Nothing will ever fill the void
god i really want this setup
I've never understood people like this. Is your place so small or cluttered that you can't find space for an object the size of a briefcase?
Make room, you faggot. Throw out some shit you don't need if you have to.
>XQEMU, the only Xbox emulator with any hope of ever being functional is an LLE
>even if it becomes playable, Xbox exclusives will still be stuck in shit-tier 480p forever
That fucking doll that floated around was fucking nightmare fuel though.
Because all hardware will eventually die you dumb faggot and then it will be lost forever if it isn't documented well enough.
If you get an emulator going, it can be translated from language to language forever and it will also be easier to access and possibly better than the original due to enhancements.
People like you are short sighted dumbasses.
Because what usually happens when someone builds one of theses emulators they get a hold of documentation of the console's dev cycle and how it got built in the first place and reverse engineer that. No such documentation for the Xbox seems to exist, and was definitely never made public
I'm sad that I will probably never play the Xbox versions of Fatal Frame 1-3 since I hear they have a lot of exclusive bonus stuff.
Microshit should ask KT to put them on the XBLA.
It's probably pretty fucking shit compared to what I remember, but I'd have fun.
Secret Weapons Over Normandy
Kung Fu Chaos
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
Kingdom Under Fire/Heroes
And a bunch more I forgot. Loved my OG xbox. First console I ever owned.
Anyone else play this? I thought it was pretty good back then.
>can't be fucked to hook up the monolith to play
>have PS2, Wii, and Xbox hooked up to the same TV
>just have to switch input cables
Yeah, no problems here, OP. I wouldn't mind having Timesplitters, though. I mean, I can emulate the PS2 game, but why do that?
> Also the unique controller usually caused some issues with certain games when translated over.
What does this mean? The GCN controller was no more unusual than the Dualshock or the Xbox controller.
>Xbox also had a better online system
True, but that means nothing in the context of this thread, since we're discussing good Xbox games to emulate.
My one and only Xbox game before I sold the console was morrowind. Which might be the worst port of all time. 10 min load screens and at least 1 crash every half hour or so. Then I stuck a 500gb hdd in a ps2 and softmodded, never looked back.
>JSRF not under sports
>Cel Damage not under racing
Any second opinions on Legacy of Kain? I've never played the series. And should I play Splinter Cell on PC or Xbox? I have no private trackers for it.
>2 is better
I don't know about that. 1 had better customization and better tracks. Oh yeah and the paint scraping was a really cool graphical feature that they took out in all the sequels, strangely.
2 does have the auction house, but it's a moot point nowadays since it's gone.
Those are the PS1 games, right? I guess I can try them out later, then.
I don't think you really did.
Blood Omen is better on PC since it lacks the PS1 version's horrible loading times.
Soul Reaver is probably best on Dreamcast since it got upgraded models and texturing. PS1 version is also fine. PC port lost the dynamic music and is fucked on modern systems.
>Leave my OG Xbox at my parents house for a few years because my dad liked to play it
>Just bought a house and am setting up a game room, and want my Xbox in it
>Stoked to hook it back up and play all of my old games again
>My Dad gave it away to his friend a couple of months ago.
You stupid fucking faggot.
I played this game a fucking lot, would love to play it again.
Probably shit if I were to actually play it again but my nostalgia
There's literally a handful of exclusive titles worth playing, no one cares about it
The only game I want to play is Kingdom Under Fire the Crusaders just to see if it still has the game breaking bug in it that prevents you from properly playing if you try to open the mini-map
I had to lose contact with my old best friend a few years ago. He just kept lying to me and I felt my being around enabled him to keep it up. It was really more one-sided now that I look back on it; with me always the one wanting to hang out and start new projects, but he was happy sitting on his ass playing games all day, not working, and using his other friends to buy him stuff. Broke my heart to lose him. I really wanted to get into the same career field with him, move him into my basement, whatever. He was like a brother to me.
About a year and a half ago, I started collecting Xbox games to go along with my already extensive Gamecube collection in hopes that I'd find a friend to play them with. I really put myself out there, but nobody really felt "right", you know? Just never had that same dynamic again and I've given up on finding that someone.
I shelled out like $50 for that shit about 6 years after release just so I could have a copy to keep forever after a friend broke my original accidentally.
I spent so much time playing this and Cell Damage it was unreal.
Lucy a best.
i had this exact experience, we lived in simcoe at the time and hung out like every day for a couple years.
Sad shit is i could just add this faggot on steam since hes friends with a dude i know but hes a totally different guy now, started taking antidepressants and shit from what i heard.
I feel your pain bro.
>have PS2, Wii, and Xbox hooked up to the same TV
that's my exact setup, but i have to get on top of a big platform and walk behind the TV that's hanging in the air just to switch the cables.
i also made the terrible mistake of buying shitty chinese third-party component cables for all of them off ebay instead of real ones. don't do that, friends. three dollars isn't worth misaligned colors that get worse the higher the resolution is.
I tried these myself earlier this year and although they helped me to forget how lonely I was, I couldn't feel anger anymore. Had to put an end to it.
At least you have Steam friends, if not real friends as well. Lost contact with my online folks back in like '06. Never had time to dedicate to playing a game to make new ones since. Sucks, but I don't think I'd even be able to communicate anymore with a younger crowd, considering my isolated lifestyle.
Can't you just pirate them
Also how much? I'm married now and the only system she played was an old xbox. Gonna try to find some fun games to play
I also had a bro to play with, married some horse mouthed anorexic bitch.
My steam friends are people I know IRL, I tend to clean out the randoms from my list if it's been long enough since we talked or played together.
I would tell you to add me if you wanted to but I hate posting my shit on this site, too many animufags
My Xbox died like 10 years ago due to a power failure, but I still have it. Is there anyway to save the data on the hdd if it survived? I'd love to check out my old Kotor saves and the like.
I appreciate the sentiment, anon, but I am not the greatest conversationalist nor do I play many games these days, so I'm not sure what I could do to maintain my end of a friendship anyway.
Suit yourself mate, don't say nobody ever tried ;)
I hope things get better for you though man,
I've got kind of a soft spot in my heart for people with depression or social isolation.
Not hard, as long as you have some basic computer knowledge. I did mine using the IDE cable swap trick to bypass the HD password.
You can also use specially crafted save files for certain games that'll let you softmod it. Mechassault (original, not platinum) was the game I remember working with that method.
I don't know about modchips and stuff, but those are probably fairly easy too.
Physically (as in a soldered modchip), not very difficult. If you don't know how to solder, you can practice on old circuit boards. Screwed down or solderless modchips are much easier, but they tend to lose contact with their points (spring-loaded garbage). Soft-modding isn't a bad alternative, but soldering an xecuter3 is one of the best ways to get into the original xbox scene.
If you learn basic soldering, you shouldn't have a problem with the D0 point that scares a lot of people.
I did the splinter cell trick, but instead of getting an overpriced memory card adapter, I spliced a usb end into the breakaway port on a controller, then you can plug in a usb stick and it'll work as a memory card
>That's the gamecube version
>Xbox buttons in the hub
>Project Gotham Racing
Yeah. That's the one. It wasn't even that good but I remember wasting a shit ton of time on it.
I miss playing fusion frenzy with my brother and cousin.
>being too lazy to plug in three cords and the power outlet
>being too cheap to just buy an Xbox at less than $50 and softmodding it for free games
You only bring this pain on yourself.
I heard it was like Pikmin, but you could do PvP over XBL, I'll probably download it soon or check if yahoo auctions has it cheap because having it physical would be cool and to scan the cover and other stuff since I like doing that if something hasn't been uploaded online.
