Why is this game doing so poorly on Indiegogo? I would've thought it'd be backed by now, considering how easily people throw their money at this kind of stuff.
Is there something I'm missing or is it safe to back the project? I'd like to throw them enough money for a digital download but if there's a reason not to and that's why they're probably not getting funded, I don't want to waste my money.
They need over 225k to even drag the campaign out with an extension, and if they get a lot of last-minute contributors to drive it up to 900k, they're going to need another gimmick to secure the remaining 600k.

The only part about it that feels like a prototype is the platforming. It gives you the basics and then introduces the axe giving the player an idea of the types of mechanics that could be added.
The combat is beyond bare bones. Nothing about it is good. Boring garbage really. If thats not representative of the final product at all then maybe they shouldn't have released it like that.

Let me give you an answer free of shitposting. Answer's long though, so bear with me.
There's a few reasons why it isn't doing so hot, and why it won't probably get funded, unless something happens to them, like a huge influx of money or they get an extension.
When they first announced this, as you can see in your thread pic, they released a prototype of it to show of the gameplay. This seemed to be contradicting to them, since most people played this and thought "Well, this is what the game is mostly going to be about, so I'm not gonna get it" or "Well, it's fun, but I don't feel like backing it, I'll get it when it's released". This also brings into the field that the game plays like Valkyrie Profile, which most people think is a better game and it already exists, so you can just play that.
Another reason is the setting for the game and it's characters. Most people don't think they're really done well and mostly made to pander to certain toxic fan-bases, or that the MC is badly done because she's "ruining brown girls" or that the game is diverse for the sake of being diverse.
Most recently, Lab Zero did some changes to their game Skullgirls, which involved censoring a few panty shots some of the characters and removing the stage, Gehenna, from Random Select because people with a fear of small holes (forget the phobia name) were uncomfortable with it. The censoring, however, was a change Lab Zero had wanted to do for a while though, based on facts I researched. Why they decided to do it this late is beyond me, especially since said panty shots weren't hurting anyone, but whatever, it's their game, they can do whatever the fuck they want with it.
There was a ton of merch, untranslated side stories, new scenes and cgs, reworking the engine etc. There was a lot more to it that just the translation of Extra/Unlimited and Alternative.

But probably the biggest reason is how back and forth this game has been flung about on /v/. I don't like using the term shill, but considering there have been threads that literally stated "Donate to Indivisible!", it's hard not to. I think just about every day since this campaign started, there has been a thread up trying to get support for this game. When it comes to /v/, doing something like this comes across as very petty and desperate, since it seems you can't get your thing funded without asking begging people for help; you have to think about how bad Kickstarter has had an effect on people here. That and coupled with the fact that Indivisible threads usually devolved into shit-flinging contests, people making fun of the fact this game won't get funded in time, people saying liking this game makes you a supporter of feminism, and such and such.

You can donate if you want to. Lab Zero made this a fixed funding, meaning if their project doesn't get funded, all the money they make gets refunded. So you'll get your dough back if the game doesn't get funded.

mikez has been working in the games industry for 10 years. he worked on star wars battlefront 2, pandemic hired him as a consultant, arcsys hired him to help balance blazblue, he was picked up to make mvc2 ports work better. the artists have worked on like half a dozen other games and they have this whole list on the indiegogo page if you want to know their qualifications.

That's why fans say KLK and other Trigger projects were done by "the team" that did TTGL or PSG. The character designs sucked because they're often ridiculous, over-the-top archetype mashups robbed of any actual over-the-top personality. The samurai nun is a great example. Toko is mostly a blob of dull navy blue, whereas the initial concept of "samurai nun" has tons of room for interesting, appealing designs.The nun habit =warlord helmet idea is pretty much the only one that made it into the final product, and even that looks dull.
If you are aiming for a metroidvania feel you shouldn't use RPG combat, that's just alienating, should have been like Muramasa and made it full action.

What are talking about, you retard? I AM an animator. Nearly everything in this game is the total opposite of simple to animate. Like the guy with all the knives, the lady with the cannon on her shoulder, etc. Most of it looks like a nightmare to animate. Too many details, planes, shapes to keep track of. Skullgirls already had problems with characters morphing and melting in animation, I can't imagine how bad this game would have those problems.
Most of this game's budget will go into animation and that seems crazy to me. To spend so much time making sure ugly characters move well enough.

that was it. I never felt like there was priority to hit someone besides the healing ability. Where were the buffs? Why doesn't the combo do something more than just 'fill meter faster' which I never saw or cared sicne I was too busy pressing buttons whenever they were all grouped up anyway. five minutes into a fight youre constantly at full meter regardless.
The prototype isn't finished, it's not complete, the game doesn't appeal to me.
