>>315597786 Did you even read his post? Autistic piece of shit, he wasn't talking about The simpsons videogames, he was comparing the decline of quality from the show with any modern franchise, you stupid faggot mouthbreathing fat fuck. No wonder why you don't have a gf.
>>315597893 >>315597917 >Kill yourself for a simple misconception on a VIDEOGAME board. Kay. But now that you mention it, that does make more sense. Also, it's more autistic to express such extreme negativity against someone for a misconception. Do you stand up in front of your boss and yell shit like that when he tells you something incorrect?
If still baby, do you stand up in front of your teacher/professor and yell shit like that when they say something incorrect?
Rise and fall from grace is cool and all, but what about games that became rollercoasters of quality? Like, they start out fine, turn into shit, but then comeback better than ever? Then possibly be shitty again? Franchises like that.
Examples I can think of are Twisted Metal, Contra, and Mortal Kombat.
>>315598529 Also, I figured out a good comparison between the Simpsons and videogames. The videogame industry as a whole has sunk as hard as the Simpsons. It still gets a smile out of people now and then, but has generally gotten extremely stale, used up, and bad.
>>315599026 WHAT IN GOD'S NAME ARE YOU EVEN GOING ON ABOUT I'M NOT EVEN GONNA TELL YOU TO KILL YOURSELF WORK ON YOUR SELF IMAGE AND SELF ESTEEM FIRST YOU FAGGOT FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF SO I CAN MAKE FUN OF YOU WITHOUT SHAME
>>315599170 >Without shame You feel shame about making fun of me? That is fucking impressive. You have a conscience on some level.
That's a sign you could live a normal, happy life if you put forth the effort. 9/10, would play local co-op games with.
As for working on self image and self esteem, my self image could use some work, but my self esteem is fine. I am who I am and no amount of improved physical form or bitches layering me in attention will change that.
I saw so much disappointment (and seeing all these shitty AC games coming out) that I still didn't play ACIII, and I know every little fucking thing about the franchise (stoping on revelations), I was a huge fan.
Should I play ACIII, guys? Playing Revelations, it seems like ACIII should be the last one to close the cicle, does it all end in ACIII (I want it to)?
I posted this in another thread this week, but I'll repost here.
I feel like Sonic is basically the Simpson's of video games at this point.
They had a huge explosion of popularity in the 90's because of it's genuine quality, but started to taper off at the turn at the millennium. 15 years later, you have a franchise that got way to big for the parent company to ever abandon, despite it not being good in years, and a league of elitist fans who declare themselves the true lovers of the series, even though they swear off over half of the series' entire existence and only acknowledging the old shit from when they were a kid.
>>315597670 People are even starting to turn against the old seasons now. Not that I can blame them, it's like if the last few seasons of TMNT had been running for three times as long as the actual show had.
>>315599834 Yeah, just like you, loved the AC games, but stopped at 3, cause I just lost interest knowing you don't play as Desmond, and my brother, who played, and finished the game before me, told me the ending was crap and unsatisfying. I now watch the endings, every time a new game comes out, because I wan't to know where they're going with the story, but it's always dog shit, every fucking time, so no, I wouldn't play 3. Black Flag is apparently good, gameplay wise, so try that if you really wan't to.

>>315601608 If that was the goal, it really didn't work. I expect shitposting like that from /v/. It just gives me an excuse to respond in kind. Not everyone reaches the same end result from the same initial input. If you give two people an identical pile of Lego bricks with no instructions, the chances of them building the same thing is extremely unlikely.
/v/ analogy: If there are two paths to take in a videogame, some people will pick the first while others will pick the second their first playthrough. Hence, I arrived at a different conclusion based off the information in OP. Oh well.
>>315601169 You're putting too much effort in your posts, making huge walls of text, likely because it gives you a sense of superiority. >>315600534 specifically is reeking with pretentiousness, even if you find this fun, it's sad that you make it your mission to reply to everyone who replies back to you, even when the post is as simple as "kill yourself". Now I look like a fag too.
I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with you after stating any personal opinions since I can already tell it's not worth the effort but just from the seventh gen onward there were Colors, Generations and Lost World. Arguably Unleashed as well.
>>315600534 >I find them cute. So I play with them. To be honest: you're not going to be able to salvage your complete failure to read OP's question, so don't try, especially when you're just making an ass of yourself with the "epic puppetmaster" routine.
>>315602260 >epic puppermaster >Enjoying oneself by counter shitposting baby rage tier shitposts is puppeteering. Whatever you say. As for salvaging the reading of OP, see: some of those other big posts. Thanks for caring enough to reply.
I haven't watch a Simpson's episode for about 10 years. I've seen all the golden age episodes but this thread is making me want to watch it again. What are the best Simpsons episodes of all time? I'll watch what ever you guys recommend.
>>315602361 Which one? AC3? That wasn't a fucking cliffhanger, that was a stupid as fuck asspull, solely meant to get Desmond out of the spot light, so they could keep churning out new AC games every year. The over arching story is rarely brought up anymore. The story is dead, and so is Assassin's Creed. Fuck Ubisoft.
>>315601864 >If there are two paths to take in a videogame, some people will pick the first while others will pick the second their first playthrough. And then there's you, the person who walked into a wall for ten minutes because you could have sworn there was a hidden passage there!
>>315602840 I don't know if you're trying to get me to admit that I didn't see any of them, but that won't work, since 14 was the year that caused me to stop watching. >Large Marge >Helter Shelter > The Great Louse Detective All crap. That last one is when I just gave up watching.
>>315602873 Yeah, I was actually surprised too, when I found out I was in the minority with that, but then again, it's faggots like you, who wanted another ancestor, and another, and another, and are the reason why they keep making the same fucking game over, and over again, so I shouldn't have been that surprised. I wanted to see the modern world, run by Abstergo, with Desmond finding whatever was left of the Assassin's in modern times, teaming up, finding some pieces of Eden, and taking Abstergo down, all while the inevitability of the world ending, fighting through the odds, and trying to prevent it somehow. at least that way, the series could have ended with some dignity, and give me a decent conclusion to the story, now we have this mess, absouletly fucking disgusting, I just wan't to see the ending at this point.
>>315602413 If by caring you mean getting second hand embarrassment from reading your posts, sure.
>>315603198 No you don't get it, he used his amazing puppetmaster powers to predict with perfect accuracy the age range of the people who would respond to his clearly intentional "misreading" of OP's post.
The FBI wanted him to join them as a criminal psychologist but he replied he has a more important role to play in the bigger scheme of things.
>>315603459 >wanting a modern AC >when everyone has guns Remember how stupid the ending of AC2 was, when Desmond fought off an army of conveniently unarmed guards? Yeah, a whole game based around that. Brilliant.
>>315603735 One day, a madman will hold a gun to your head and say "What are the possible interpretations of the question 'Has any videogame series had a fall from grace as dramatic as that of the Simpsons?'"
And on that day, you will remember him, and you will wonder how he knew.
>>315603968 >implying a competent dev team couldn't just add some amazing gun-fu combat for a modern setting Add gun-fu then continuously contrive reasons for there not being a guy with a gun on a rooftop? Or like four feet away out of reach?
The Desmond plot was bullshit. It was as unwelcome in AC3 as it was in the original AC when everyone threw a bitch fit about it. I don't know if you were on the internet in 2007, but everyone complained about the sci-fi elements, since the game was sold not just primarily, but exclusively as a period piece stealth/platformer game. Then it turned out you weren't actually playing as Altair, you were actually playing as Blandy Blanderson from Blandsville as he played as Altair.
>>315603751 Just means you have to be more stealthy? The very few scenes we get of the modern world in newer AC games, Abstergo has guns, having guns is a non-issue, just one of those weird complaints people use, simply for the sake of complaining. It isn't as if AC games are literary masterpieces, it's a video game, they get a way with this shit all the damn time. Have a scene where Desmond gets his new Assassin's outfit, which is conveniently bullet proof, problem solved.
>>315604524 >>315604680 I'm assuming your still AC fans then? Do you like the way the series is now? What would you have preferred? The garbage we have now? or a final Desmond focused game that wraps up the story. I must be one of the few people who liked the sci-fi elements then, I'm honestly kind of shocked.
Black Flag was heaps of fun, but it highlights the main issue with AC games now - they're boring.
Edward already knows most of the assassin moves, so you don't get to play with new mechanics. After about halfway I was bored of being an assassin because it was the same thing everytime, sometimes with a new toy.
The Jackdaw on the other hand was heaps of fun. Start off with a piss-weak ship that you slowly build to become mighty and powerful. Ships you once ran in fear from become your bitch as your asrenal upgrades. It reminded me of AC I and II where you only have basic moves, but learn new and exciting ways to take out opponents. It was the sense of progression
>>315605125 Black Flag is one half of a great game. Well, that's not entirely accurate. Black Flag is a great game stapled to a shitty one. If all the game was was sailing around, raiding ships, exploring small islands for treasure/maps/collectibles, I would have been perfectly OK with that. Instead the game ropes you into doing the awful Assassin's Creed bits. Almost every fucking AC mission in 4 boils down to either, "Tail that guy," "Tail that guy while listening to him," "Chase after that guy you just tailed," or "Tail that guy while in your boat." >>315605035 I would rather play "the garbage we have now" than play a game focused entirely on Desmond. I didn't get into the Assassin's Creed games to listen to Nolan North smarm his way through another modern-day game; I got into Assassin's Creed because I wanted to explore historical periods and stab the occasional dude. I got back out of Assassin's Creed because while I want to do that, I don't want do that every single year in negligibly better iterations.
I might end up doing what most (rational) people end up doing with other yearly franchise released games and skip most of them and just buy one every three or four years.
I skipped Unity, apparently Syndicate is Unity 2.0 so I'll likely skip that too, but I may pick up next year's AC game. I should have done that with the other games too. I could have skipped Revelations and 3 and played Black Flag.
>>315598627 >Like, they start out fine, turn into shit, but then comeback better than ever? Then possibly be shitty again? >Twisted metal If you think Head On Or TM2012 is shit then you have god awful taste.
>>315598397 i did, he gave us bad information and the entire class lost marks over it. hes disagreed, i called him a cunt, i got a week detention and he got fired when they investigated our claims. then i got undetentioned. dunno if you could get away with that these days, standing up for yourself is like, taboo
>>315605892 spongebob has its own syndrome named after it. they did studies of kids who watched fast paced stuff verses non-fast paced stuff and found the kids who watched spongbob for just 10 mins had shorter attention spans for the rest of the day.
weirdly, despite verifiable proof that letting your kid watch spongebob is bad for them, its still there.
>>315606682 thank you confirming that i have a personal opinion instead. seriously, all halo ever did was put a bunch of gameplay mechanics that other games did better, made them a little worse, and slapped it together.
>>315597670 Zelda is comparable, right down "new staff takes over halfway through the series, now series is a parody of what made it great and is a zombie series people keep with more out of obligation than enjoyment".
>>315605736 Although our opinions are wildly different, I think I might do the same. I love the sci-fi bullshit, but if the game is shit, I can just watch videos to keep up to date with that part of the story, while I play only the good AC games. The only good one, that I haven't played yet, seems to be Black Flag, for the pirate ship aspect alone, but I'll keep up to date with AC, and see if any of the newer games seem interesting in any way, from now on. Sengoku-era/Three Kingdoms focused game could breath some life into the series, fingers crossed.
