What do you think of Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Endless Frontier?
I really, really liked the air-juggle combo mechanic.
Cancelling your final attack at the last second to continue the attack with another character was pretty sweet, too.
Also, you had to nail that combo system or this little loli witch piece of shit would fuck you up.
Non-existant plot but the fan service and RPG mechanics were solid.
A shame the sequel never made it over to the West, though.
The combat system seemed neat at first but got old pretty fast. Probably because it was completely onesided - didn't matter a lick who or what you were facing, you just kept doing your thing the same way.
On the plus side, it had ok characters, some nice music and funny dialogue.
RIP promising series.
The semi-active battle thing could really use some more love. If I were making my own game I would so steal it.
First game was pretty good.
EXCEED was GOTYAY.
Only issue I ever had was the fact that using items didn't take a turn, so you could cheese extremely hard with item spam. If a boss doesn't 1 shot your whole party, it didn't do anything except force you to have an extra potion or revive.
Seriously, why did this never happen? Was there no demand for it? Was no one interested enough to do it? Was there some particular difficulty translating it?
Can't find the wall of tits screenshot.
Have an underrated girl instead
This fucking catgirl I swear to god
its a shame. it had a good combat system for a ds game, a great ost, pretty sprites, and wasnt even waifushit even though it was full of good girls - mostly because haken was a smug fucker all the time
I suddenly realise I have tons of OG Saga pictures from back when the game was still fresh.
not released west sequel / 10
last shot to give SRW OG chance in west via spin off with zero marketing / 10
Anon she is already lewd, as is pretty much everyone.
Side note, Haken was pretty based. You'd expect your average beta harem lead for a game like this, but Haken actually took the initiative and got shit done. He also fucked her at the end.
It's all SFW, bro
Hypnodisc versus Robogeddon blew my fucking mind as a kid.
PXZ was INCREDIBLY bland and repetitive both gameplay and story wise, and instead of creating an interesting universe it relied on nothing but fanwank to get by.
Endless Frontier had cameo characters. It wove them into the story perfectly. The best characters were still the originals, like Haken, Suzuka and the Orchestral Army.
PXZ was nothing BUT cameo characters. All fluff no substance. There was also no exploring and 99% of the game was spent clearing out generic trash mobs, compared to the hundreds of awesome and unique boss fights over the two EF games.
The Orchestral Army were pretty sweet semi-antagonists. Katze Kotolnos was a cool gay cat guy and a nice boss battle.
Also, this thread needs more Suzuka-hime.
I played with the partial translation patch. Apparently a lot of people in the game speak in a really odd or proper way so it's very hard for someone not fluent in moon to understand.
Honestly I liked Aschen more than Lamia.

Hmm, that's a shame. I heard it was received pretty well in the West.
same, my favorites were aschen and suzuka, honorable mentions to koma and kyon
I didn't really think much of Suzuka. Always gets me how in a game full of titty monsters the token loli almost always manages to be the most popular. I always preferred pic related, even though she wasn't an OC to the games.
THIS FUCKING WITCH LOLI I SWEAR TO CHRIST
iirc the translator was waiting to see if it would be officially released and the kiddies just annoyed the everloving shit out of him with requests. so thats why he never got past the menu translation.
FUCK the last third of the game. Even killing randoms becomes so grindy and unfun at that point that it retroactively kills the game, not to mention the boss fights taking half a fucking hour each.
What were they thinking?
why bamco. why trust shitty atlus.
why not release this with decent marketing when you were thinking about it
look, you are released PxZ which is successful without atlus. you can market yourself and localize yourself
why you abandoned the series?
I liked the boss battle endurance shit.
I agree that the random mobs got way too fucking grindy, though.
The boss battles were already long enough in the early and midgame. Going to 30 minutes for each boss battle when the game starts spamming them like they're a gauntlet at the end of the game is horseshit.
