So, what's your favorite class and role in any kind of MMO?
I seriously hope you aren't a healslut AND born under a water sign, right anon?
But seriously though, who /taurus tank/ here.
RPDS is 2ez and unengaging, Tank is too much responsibility. And melee DPS... I dunno, just haven't played a MDPS class that appealed to me.
I sometimes pretend I'm a girl when healing randoms. If you haven't tried pretending to be a girl in MMO's, you should try it. Also, if you play a female character, and heal, apparently a lot of people assume you're a girl right off the bat. People treat you overly nice and give you shit without you even saying anything.
I usually play support roles including healers not because I like, but because people are too selfish to care for other players or the harmony of a group.
Everybody wants to win, but nobody is willing to make sacrifices.
Also, Aquarius > everything else
I'm a Taurus and tank is honestly the lamest role I think. My favorite role is ranged DPS I guess because my favorite MMO character has been my elemental shaman in WoW since WotLK.
Because those are natural group roles in that sort of content. If you have no roles, people will naturally fall into the trinity. Either you have no roles, or you subdivide the existing ones into partial-roles e.g. having buffers instead of just incorporating buffs into the standard trinity.
I hear what you're saying but I'm moreso complaining that class diversity in mmos has died to the point where all you have is the trinity and there's 0 difference between any of the melee dps for instamce.
I miss eq and ffxi..
GW2 tried doing something different. And it failed hard.
>find ranged DPS frustrating more than anything
i always gravitate towards melee classes in nearly every game i play. in MMOs I always pick a tank or a melee DPS as my first character.
I just like being close to enemies and hitting shit with a bigass axe or some shit. something about standing 20 feet away and shooting arrows or slinging spells just isnt as fun
ARIES MASTER RACE REPORTING IN!!
WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WHACKING SHIT WITH?!
Are there any good MMOs coming out soon?
ToS is boring shit the only redeemable parts are the class customisation and artstyle.
Heavensward managed to be the worst expansion ever to an already stale game.
I really wish i could get back into Heavensward. The endgame was so dull that i quit but I kinda miss doing shit my guild members. I told them that i'll be back once the patch rolls out, but it just seems like even more bland bullshit and i'm getting tired of running the same 2 fucking dungeons every day. Nothing in the upcoming patch seems to change that.
Is ToS really that boring? I just registred for the new givaway and wasn't around during the first one, but it seems kind of nice to play at least for a little while and the artstyle is beautiful.
eq was garbage anyway and why mmos are shit these days.
mmos should have followed the path of uo instead of following the path of eq. people might say eq was hardcore, but it wasn't. it was casual and extremely autistic for its day.
there's not a single healthy mmo following the eq model. Every mmo since 2004 has followed the wow model. But yes everquest is why mmos are in the state that they're in.
The sad thing is the grind isn't what made everquest/ffxi great. You could reduce the grind in half and it wouldn't be any worse for it. They created believable breathing worlds and let players explore them and created systems that coerced players into working together.
Also having more than 3 classes was pretty fucking cool.
>play every game likes its Gears of War because that shit just works
Too late fuccboi now come over here and choke on this healthbar
>love being the full support guy.
Healing in pvp is literally the most fun you can have in an MMO
Healing in pve shouldn't even be a thing. Games should be balanced aorund not even needning a healer in pve content
>Most healers are healsluts
>Most Scorpios are perverts
Makes sense to me.
I'm a scorpio
I can somewhat see why they're tanks. Virgos are pure, noble, and other stuff like that, while tanks defend the group from dangers while risking their own lives. But wouldn't it make more sense for Virgo to be a healer instead?
Anyways, I'm more melee DPS than any other class. I'm a fan of thieves and rogues, not tanks and healers.
>usually run MDPS or Tank
Feels good to be the leader of the pact either aggressive or defensive.
>implying Zodiac shit holds any water
Sure, it's easy for you to blame Zodiac for being idiot.
Shut up and spread your asschecks you whore.
I am. I'm also >>315636481
This shit isn't exactly real. It's a fun read whenever you look at it, but never something to take entirely seriously. If I did, I'd be hanging octagonal mirrors off everything, and dying my hair a specific shade of green to focus the good energies of the world.
>Smug anime girl
And you name people fuccbois?
Not only do you not know what you're good for, you don't even know where you are!
I used to main healer/support in everything because noone else was competent enough for the role, but some ~5 years ago I completely lost my drive to continue doing that. I wasn't doing bad with it at all, I just lost interest. Probably got something to do with being literally unappreciated in almost every game and every situation no matter how well you do.
So nowaday I prioritize:
Stealth above all else > tanking > damage > support/healer in extremely rare cases anymore.
Heals >> Tank >>>>>> Dps
I just can't stand dpsing. It's boring, so I pretty much exclusively heal and on the rare chance tank sometimes.
Damage is the most fun. That's why you always have way more DPS than any other role, in literally any MMO with this class structure.
I prefer games like Diablo or Vindictus where every class is just a different flavor of DPS, and they all get some kind of dodge, block or self heal to mitigate damage.
You sit there and do a rotation over and over and the same thing over and over. Healing I find anything can happen and you play off peoples mistakes. I have more fun that way. Although healing in shitty groups can be tedious time wise. With all that said, if it wasn't you all you dps, I'd be out of a job so I can't complain about dps too much.
>Not being an Alpha-Scorpio supportbro.
Tanksluts want dis dick.
My nigga. I usually love playing support guys that can also do damage like Paladins in Warcraft and Diablo.
Fuck yes man. I mostly always play paladin as well.
You sir are a patrician of fine taste just like myself.
And you are my nigga.
Do you play medics in shootan games too?
Mostly always if I can. But when I do, I play more of an aggressive medic. Because being able to dish out as much as anyone else and being able to self heal is just broken. That and helping others out.
>Pushing the line.
>Forcing others to push with you and rezzing them when they die.
>Killing niggers and then reviving your friends.
I actually really enjoy Destiny because of this. Fucking sliding into cover to rez a teammate is fun as fuck especially since you can still shoot while doing it you just gonna fuck with the grip of the thumbstick to aim.
I love finding fps games with good medic mechanics. Getting top score with not just support points but top kills is really amusing. I've been playing Dirty Bomb which has a ranged rez gun which can rez people from across the map AND instant headshot kill most of the other team like a rail gun. Shit's pretty cool.
I didn't read the entire thread, but the ecliptic signs, in this case, are arranged by element
The earth signs are tanks, the fire signs are melee dps, the air signs are ranged, and the water signs are healers
Yes Aquarius is air.
This is a fun concept but it doesn't translate exactly
In fact, in the case of Libras, who tend to be optimistic one-on-one communicators, healing would be a strong suit.
Someone like a cancer, who likes to arrange things, might be better off with tank. Scorpio is introverted and passionate, and might be better off as melee dps.
Just some random, poor examples.
that's just because mmos are stuck in a box where everything is designed to conform to those roles because people will bitch that the game isn't a real mmo if it doesn't. games like vindictus do it differently, but then everyone says it doesn't count.
