Don't try going for 100% off the bat. That's only for later playthroughs.
Finish quests in the guild as soon as possible.
White Gehenna > everything
If you're going to use S-break, try to use it when you have been granted a critical or str up.
It's unlike other RPGs where you are supposed to save the universe right off the bat. You're just two teens on bracer training, try not to drop the game on the first chapter. And yes, things do escalate.
>>315623901 Game has an incredibly slow start but don't try to rush things, talk with npc as they have a shitton of unique and changing commentaries past pretty much every story event, dialogues and world building are one of the strongest points of franchise.
Playing through SC at the moment, and i liked the all the NPC talk, like the guy that had fishing for a Hobby and didn't pay attention to the wife, so she decided to be better than him at fishing and succeded easily.
Does the story of that family on Bose about how the husband suggested they make a small shop in the city, but went back to their farm house to work there leaving the child and mother working in the city by thenselves progress? Or the little kid who got a reality check every time he said something about wanting to be a great merchant and the little girl shattered it, only at the end to imply she would be dating him if he put effort in being successful?
>trails in the sky characters >tomboyish girl with a generic design as protagonist but with some unique qualities such as her headstrong personality combined with her girlish qualities and weapon of use >boy with a mysterious past who is pretty much the staple generic main character jrpg protagonist but with some interesting things to go with his character such as his competence, personality, relationship with estelle and not being edgy at all despite appearances >total milf slut that acts as a mentor to the two main characters who's familiarity with them at a personal level makes for some funny moments with them, and a design that is properly themed with tarot cards >a bard prettyboy woth unique dialogue that is both controversial and funny at the same time who utilizes his posh and outlandish personality to hide the fact that he's actually an erebonian agent and has great interactions with literally any character making any scene with him enjoyable to see >some stupid high school student who's only redeeming quality is that she's the kek princess >hot headed man with a burly design who's ranked right up there with the milf. Starts out with a really jerkish condescending attitude but has a lot of personal growth and eventually respects the protagonists >cute loli thats good with mechanical things who grows to be like a little sister to the protagonists. Suprisingly enough the game makes sense out of the fact that she should not be going to dangerous missions without not letting you use her >super manly tall asian dude who is a total bro and I don't know much about yet excet that he's one of the strongest bracers in the continent
>sen no kiseki characters >everyone is in high school >5 generic fuccboi design of various tropes >5 generic waifu designs of various tropes
I know I shouldn't judge the characters YET but what exactly happened to the mindset in terms of DESIGN? Why is everyone so samey now? Even in zero and ao things are kind of like that as well.
>>315627607 Mine is: Top tier: >Joshua (simply the most potent DPS character in the game, he doesn't need turn delay crafts to be top tier, best used as a combination of magic and physical DPS, with gladiator headband he can jump from zero to 100 CP in seconds just by unleashing a few aoe spells then killing all survivors with his GOAT s-crafts) >Kevin (literally the best line of support crafts in the game plus good mage, CP battery for rest of the party, healer and panic button all at once)
Hight tier: >Zane (mediocre in the beginning but when you hit higher levels and he learns +60% attack/def buff craft he becomes incredibly tough and damaging, far surpassing even Agate and gladiator accessories make CP accumulation easy as fuck) >Agate (broken in the beginning thanks to wild rage but gradually loses his advantage) >Olivier (best dedicated mage but his crafts suck ass) >Schera (overall crap character but AT Advance move allows her to jump from low tier to high tier)
Mid tier: >Estelle (really mediocre character because she ain't a specialist, her strongest ability is to rally physical characters with her aoe STR buff and then go with Chain 3 on enemy asses, Estelle/Joshua combo is very potent as she can inspire and support him while he goes cuhrayzee, she can also serve as a great healer)
Low tier: >Kekloe (good mage but brittle as fuck and with 3 water locked slots and 1 useful crafts that won't work on any powerful opponent) >Tita (ranged physical attacker who is crap all around, her only possible usage is in farming sepith on sepith+ turns with her s-craft)
>>315628687 She did, i got surprised too once i got her in chap. 1. Her art damage was higher, decent enough HP, attack was pretty much the same as Estelle's, but now it's like all that got worse. She still has 3 water slots, so yeah, she's like botton of the barrel now.
>I don't know where to put these yet tier Mueller, Josette, Julia
Kevin is pretry much the best support character thanks to his S-break and Party CP restore craft.
Olivier is the best mage and buffer.
Agate is good for CP spam attacks.
Zane is not only the best tank but the best big fucking hits.
Joshua is fast and really good at dealing both physical damage and magic damage and is locked into an element that is non-elemental allowing him to hit just about anything. His AT delay also makes him really useful at manipulating turn order.
Schera is really average in just about everything but has a useful AT up craft to manipulate turns.
Estelle is an all rounder, not really good at anything but not bad at anything either.
Tita is good for debuffing thanks to her range on regular attacks and crafts.
Kloe is pretty much a pure healer with a really good debuff and a useful healing S-break but can't do much more other than that.
How do you even play this game on higher difficulties? I'm playing normal, doing all sidequests, farm and some bosses are pain in ass. Not impossible but still a pain. I can't imagine playing this game on nightmare.
So, a question about importing the 100% file into SC.
All you get for getting all the Bracer Points is a rare drop up quartz. Monster drops in FC are pretty much pointless, is it the same in SC? Are monster drops pretty much just ingredients and things not to care about?
Am I going to give the slightest fuck about not having that quartz because of the one bracer point I missed? (stipid smoke canister on floor 1.)
How long is the third trails in the sky game? I heard dialogue wise it's probably shorter than FC or around the same, and the story is self contained but branchs off to Ao/zero and develops characters and closes up certain things that weren't asnwered.
>about to fight Renne >Josh goes full "oh she's so super strong speshul snowflake" as usual >literally only at least somehow challenging part of the battle is the fact that she ambushes you with like 8 status effect-inflicting robots and tries to use her s-craft >the rest of the battle is like fighting against a puppy who can barely hit you for any serious damage >mfw just spammed cookies at her till she's defeated
>>315630368 I did every single quest and fought all enemies i found on the map all the way to the tower to the start of the border going to Bose, i'm pretty sure i didn't miss anything, but the monster book entry for "Ruan" still shows some ??? so since the book seems to split into regions now, i'm guessing it's for later enemies if i happen to come back.
>>315628401 More like >A braindamaged tomboy >A total edgelord >A slut that only wants to fuck and get drunk >A manslut same as above >A princess nobody gives a shit about >A bland as fuck hardened warrior kind of character >Boring loli with a gun >Literally who
>near the end of ch5 >already have 45 hours >keeping pretty much the same pace as I did with FC visiting areas before and after the main quest and talking to everyone at least once >doing all the side quests before main story >FC took me 50 hours at that pace
>>315634183 It gives substantial debuff to magic damage given the damage formula kiseki games are using. I can see it working on healer/buffer though as their spells don't scale with magic attack power, probably will put it on Estelle for instant Earth Wall casts.
>>315627607 If you're playing on Normal than tiers don't matter too much since it isn't a very hard game, but:
>Estelle She's a jack-of-all-trades, which is a bit unfortunate since in this game specialization is better than all-rounding. She doesn't have any locks though and you can make her a great support character since you're expected to dump all the utility quartz on her. She can also take a hit and Morale is pretty useful.
>Joshua Sanic speed and good on both physical offense and arts. His crafts and S-Crafts are god-tier and he has Time locks on his orbment which is great because Time is non-elemental and thus can't be resisted, make sure to spam White Gehenna. Nothing personnel.
>Agate Slow as fuck but hits super hard. Wild Rage and having someone who can use healing crafts/Earth Guard on him breaks a lot of the game in two because he can spam S-Crafts with impunity, but this becomes less effective later on. Shit at magic but who cares.
>Olivier Best pure mage in the game thanks to having a single line for his orbment with the low price of one Mirage lock. He can also attack from super far and early on Happy Trigger acts as an instant La Tear. Most of his crafts and S-crafts are pretty shitty though.
>Kloe Better on paper than in practice, she's your dedicated healer and has the EP pool to spam heals, but three Water locks hurts her bad and having more magic power doesn't actually make your heals stronger. Her first S-craft is a useful panic button (not as good as Kevin's though) but her offensive S-craft runs off of her awful STR for some reason so it suck ass.
>Schera Okay mage with a Wind lock, she isn't as strong as Olivier but she can make your characters go fast which is always useful. A slut.
>Tita Good at clearing trash mobs quickly and that's pretty much it, she has about as much HP as you'd expect a cute non-psycho loli to have.
So fishing only depends on the spot and the bait and not on rod itself right? Different rods just enables you to use different bait? So when you get aqua master you don't have to worry about using different ones right?
>>315635173 One of two MCs can be both top tier physical and magical attacker, so of course. Magic is stronger than physical damage in FC and still dominates SC even though physical crafts will get MAJOR buff as well.
I can't bring myself to play FC on the PC and my PSP is broken. I heard the PC version is superior anyway. Maybe one of these days I'll stop being a bitch and play a handheld game on my PC (yes, I know it was originally a PC game).
Also, why is Chris best girl of the Gagharv trilogy?
Literally last time I used Agate in SC his physical attacks were doing jack shit against the enemy despite being leveled up and having his best (at the time) equipment. I never put his useless ass in my party again.
>>315623901 Abuse instakill stuff like White Gehenna and the supers. Also if you want to 100% the most annoying easy to mss thing is the messages on the empty chests so double check them from the beginning.
It's overhyped trash that gets praised because in the weebworld, there is always negative amounts of worldbuilding, whereas this one goes 1% tolkien-tier, therefore, it is seen as weebshites as the deepest work of art ever conceived.
>>315650278 >After much wrangling on the implied/philosophical meaning of the game title (as Sora no Kiseki has quite a number of ways of being translated) we finally settled on a throw down between "Road to the Sky" or "Trails in the Sky." Road to the Sky had a nice upward trajectory ring to it, while Trails in the Sky conveyed a reoccurring theme within the game of the ever-crisscrossing lives of people and how they affect one another. In the end it was the importance of the journey of discovery/growth through interacting with people that won out.
>>315652940 Because Zero and Ao aren't ports, they're the PSP version in an emulator. Falcom aren't going to touch them, they even canceled Ao. And I guarantee nobody on XSeed staff knows how to inject text into PSP isos without external help. Even if they did, they'd probably get sued by Sony for selling a PSP emulator.
>>315655547 I enjoyed watching it, but if you're the type who will get pissed about the fact that they butchered the story then you should think twice.
My main gripes with it are that they made Estelle look like too much of a bumbling idiot (Sure, she's pretty goofy in the game, but she's still a competent bracer by SC) and Olivier isn't serious enough. Even though he's kind of a weirdo, he still does have a serious side, and they don't show that at all.
Anyway, like I said, I still enjoyed it despite the flaws. I wish they had covered the whole story, though.
So, according to steamspy, SC actually *lost* over 200 owners yesterday. I don't see how people can take steamspy numbers so seriously. At this point everything I've seen points to it being an unreliable measurement of a game's sales.
>>315658024 Excellent physicial attacker who can be built into evasion tank with over 100 AGI in Ao. Estelle was the only jack of all trades mc of the series. Kevin fantastic support/caster. Lloyd and Rean are great at physical damage
Oliver is slowly but surely corrupting the young maidens, the lewd jokes seem to be a little more common in SC than in FC. Oliver also pretty much upgraded his antics. Him blowing into the casino worker's ear was kinda unexpected.
You do understand the numbers provided come with a big +/- sign? And as their data gets more accurate it's possible for displayed owners to be reduced. They've never claimed to be perfectly accurate and especially new releases take time.
>>315658165 Her only good ability is an aoe STR buff and ability to equip any quartz. She's worse than most of the characters and at best suited for support, currently i just gave her cast 3 quartz which lowers her attack and put her behind other characters so she could spam earth walls and ex clock ups. >>315658352 That sounds awesome, i like physical attackers in kiseki games.
>>315659249 Not him but so far my Estelle has more ATS than my Oliver because of these shoes.there will probably come a time when I'll have to switch and Oliver's orb setup is what makes him much better anyway.
>>315659301 Her offensive crafts are GARBAGE aside from comet maybe. Cyclone does like 1/2 of the weapon damage without any extra effects, impede art almost never works, her one target only s-craft does less damage than Joshua's s-craft which attacks everyone on the screen.
You can make an attacker from her, but the thing is, she's going to suck dicks at it compared to actual top tiers.
You really don't understand basic fucking data? The number they have for owners is a prediction/estimate/good guess, if the number goes down it means the prediction was overestimated. It doesn't mean 200 people suddenly refunded the game or anything.
Consider steamspy a decent estimate, is a game selling thousands/tens of thousands/hundreds of thousands. Few hundred here or two doesn't matter.
>>315662681 >>315663027 Honestly, the enforcers themselves aren't even necessarily all that tough. It's the fact that they bring machines and monsters and trickery along with them. I think if it was a straight four-on-four battle then it would be doable.
>>315677794 No, Katsumi is a far better artist than the evo hack and you're a fucking moron if you believe otherwise. Katsumi actually has a distinct style and knows how to give his art depth. The evo hack looks like he spent 10 minutes in Paint.
>>315677794 Cmon, dont resort to no true scottsman. I tolerate Estelle and Josh art in Crossbell but still think their faces in Liberl looks better. I can tolerate FC Evo art like I tolerate no 2D art in sen as well, but that still means I prefer the older artstyle.
>>315623901 a very boring game and story. dont bother with the side stuffs and focus on finishing it because you still have two more games to play the battle system is good enough to enjoy it but the ost is shit by falcom standard
>>315683812 and you just proved this the ost was average at best so its shit by falcom standard
>Also why skip sidequests? the side quests were the most boring part in the first one I always try to get every single side quest in any jrpg but not in this one. they made me drop the game every time I decide to go back
>>315627607 >Broken Agate. No competition, any one who can't recognize how stupidly OP agate is isn't playing the game right. I could have Killed Lorentz or whatever blade lords name is and his 2 tigers before he had a 2nd chance to move, but I decided to let him move again so he could clone himself and make the fight a little challenging.
The first thing to understand that AOE is king in SC. AOE and speed are pretty much all that matters. If you can survive the first round of hits from a boss You pretty much won the defensive battle thanks to speed down and Speed up EX
Dragon Dive has way more attack power than any other Limit break and is tied for the best AoE with Joshua, Dragon Dive can easily do 5K+ to every enemy on the map end game, much more if you get lucky with turn bonuses(or get lucky with Strike 2 quartz). Agate can do this twice a turn rotation plus can contribute to 2 chain crafts, with Schera if you're lucky he can do 3 S crafts and contribute to 4 chain crafts per turn rotation. that's going to be around 25k single target damage in one turn rotation(again much more if you get crit and STR ups). Best defense is a good offense is very true in SC, most boss fights come with a decent bit of trash mobs, which only Agate can take out before they even have a chance to move.
In terms of Early game Final break is still the best source of AOE damage and Beatdown is the best source for single target damage, Agate can also contribute to 2-3 Chain crafts before firing off his LB, since there's a limit to how far down the turn order you can go there's no down side to using him over and over to wreck shit. This becomes even more abusable once you acquire Scher and get AT advance.
He also has the best crowd control in the game that is often forgotten, Flame smash pushes enemies towards the other side of the map, you can cheese most boss battles this way. (this may work endgame too)
I could write more in a separate post but I think you get the gist.
Schera She's average other than her attack advance craft which is one of the most valuable in the game, that alone brings her up to high tier. This is the only way to get a spell cast off before the enemy gets a chance to move in boss fights. Use speed down, and the fight is pretty much over. also learn how to use Chain crafts.
End game Zane
End game Zane and early Game Zane are entirely different entities. Early Game Zane is a worthless piece of shit who can only watch as the rest of your team does all the work
End Game Zane gets a 60% STR buff and Thunder Kick. This is the best source for single target damage save for Agate/clever schera Chain Attack abuse. also has some mild aoe potential. His S crafts aren't worth using most of the time because you want to spam thunder kick. Fuck the Defense orbments, he has enough Defense. You want attack.
>I don't see what's so good about him tier
I don't know where to place him, everyone else thinks he's OP so I must be missing something, single target Artes Damage sucks endgame and that's the only time he's really available Agate and Chain Crafts are all you really need for AOE. He has Grailsphere, but you need a whopping 200 CP to make it better than Earthwall, and Defense isn't a problem if you have a proper offense. Maybe Sacrificial arrow is good? I never had CP problems. I guess you could use it to easily get Agate up to 200 after a wild rage. Might be OP.
He was really good in FC, and he's still really good here, just not as much so because Attack Delays only work against a very select few bosses where Joshy is available. Dual Strike is actually really good for single Target damage not to mention you get double CP gain so you can make the CP cost almost nothing, and His S Craft is great. Only S craft I use besides Agate's endgame. He's fast, but by using speed down you can make the speed difference between him and other members negligible. He's also proficient in artes which is good for contributing aoe damage. But not more so than any other caster. I'm not sure if he's better than Oliver/Kevin.
Best spell caster save for maybe Kevin, but unlike Kevin he's available in the parts of the game where attack artes aren't complete shit. Also has a decent S craft early game. Nothing else to say, just all around solid.
She can carry non combat quarts, Hard break 2 is actually a very decent move. S crafts suck, morale is good, she can do the shitty support jobs so good character don't have to. Decent for chain crafts
3 water restrictions kills her. She's worse than Oliver in every way and has pretty much the same availability, only advantage is Sieg craft 2. but you have to put a hit gem on her or it misses way too often. Her S craft can be a nice oh shit button in the Worm fight if they use too many earthquakes. She's also squishier than Oliver.
She has a very limited usefulness early game because vital canon is a decent heal. Her attack is also good, in addition to it having an AOE property.
She has the worst orbment lines in the game save for Zane, I'd rather Make Agate a Spell caster. like seriously what the fuck. She's also squishy having half as much health as the rest of your party, normally I don't take defense into consideration, but hers is so far behind that it's a serious problem
>>315689361 >>315691286 >>315692490 >>315692603 To think that someone cares this much about how people view the effectiveness of their favorite characters in battle.
Fun Fact: I did my first playthrough of SC choosing Schera to accompany Estelle, but didn't even use her at advance craft once until the end stages of the game. Hell, I didn't even realize she had it. I also used Kloe extensively.
It doesn't fucking matter. Maybe if you're an insecure fuck who feels a need to use hard on their first playthrough it might, but TiTS isn't about the battle system. It isn't about showing how 'skilled' you think you are or how good you are at determining which characters to use. TiTS is about the STORY. That's IT.
It's truly amazing to me how many people here on the Internet don't realize that.
>>315692603 Joshua doesn't need delay arts to be extremely viable as when coupled with gladiator's headband he can unleash his s-craft or charge for almost infinite amount of dual strikes after a singe aoe spell cast and he's actually most suited for the best line of spells in the game.
Orbal down makes his further casts extremely potent, especially given how fucking fast he is.
>>315696357 >>315670150 You can meet a pair of those faggots in blackened Zeiss tunnel and it's by far one of the toughest side encounters in the game as your characters can't see shit and penguins are bombarding them with at least 2 different status effects on top of hitting like trucks.
They drop a stronger version of those orb things tower slimes are dropping.
>>315698967 >I hope you aren't talking about the Ys series, anon. of course I was the ost in Ys especially oath and 7 are god tier even the other kiseki like nayuta and the ps3 one are great and way better than trail I couldn't believe this was a Falcom game Fantastic ost is the first thing I expect from them
>>315699334 >>315701536 I don't understand why people call FC boring. Trails in the Sky isn't about explosions and awesome action-packed scenes of carnage. if you can't even handle the prologue of FC then you don't deserve to enjoy the action in SC. It is all part of learning about the world, the characters, and becoming invested in the story.
>there's actually a cutcsene of wedding ceremony of that couple which asks you to retrieve their ring from crow's nest during the earlier chapter This game has fucking everything. I've been running around the country in ch.8 for like 7 hours now and i don't think i've seen all unique optional content it has to offer. 100% this game will require consulting guide every two seconds.
>>315703423 Anon,if you replay FC you'll see that one of the victims of the hijack in Bose was in his first travel at that time. In SC you find him afraid as fuck of another hijack in the your travel to Ruan.
>>315704512 Meh, I'll see what I can do. Worst comes to worst I'll fail and then play it a third time when someone bothers to make a full BP guide. I love this game so the idea of playing it three times doesn't bother me at all. I beat FC like seven times, and I love this game even more than that, so..yeah.
Trails' and Ys' soundtracks can barely be compared to be honest, the series are antithesis of each other. Trails is more calm, slow and Ys is about highly-paced action, and the OSTs reflect that. Even the soundtracks for the boss fights in Trails remain pretty calm, except maybe this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ok9bzDzaS0
That being say I still prefer Ys Seven's or I's soundtrack (or even Dawn of Ys) over anything in the kiseki series, so you should listen to these if you want good Falcom soundtracks.
>>315705502 The "time limit" is progressing the main story too much, you'll know then depending on term time, long means it's avaliable for a long while, maybe even the entire chapter, medium will last a few story progressions and short should be done now and try not to advance the story or else it's lost.
>>315705763 Oh and obviously, by completing, I meant: >Talk to the guy who made the request >Do what is necessary >Once you're done, report back to the guy
Then it will be done. If you don't completely finish the quest but progress a bit in the story, you could lose the reward. Like this guy said >>315705721 short have to be done really quickly, as soon as you see them.
