this dude is still a hunk though
Screw alignments and factions, I'm willing to bet that 95% of all ass kickings this guy gets are for wearing his pants so damn high. Even I want to fuck him up.
>Alignments dictating whether or not you get bullied
at least you cant get this bad
they really did didn't they
I was tempted to say...
>Just look at Walter.
Not quite sure what you mean. Not everyone can be a Luxuror who can afford to wear more than Milsurp.
demi chaos hero does have redeemable armour
Hes still a huge fucking idiot faggot though
he was a huge weakling who got picked on and once he started to get power he went off the deep end
"W-we're going to get back at all the people who ever bullied us..... heh.. hehe heheheHAHAHA" etc. etc.
I bet he never got picked to play dodgeball in gym class
In Raidou 2 for Fiend fusion, does the gem value have to be above but not including 65000 to fuse Pale Rider? Because I gave him a turquoise, a garnet, and a diamond which adds up to 65000 even and ended up with Red Rider anyway, and if that's not the problem then I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Would anybody here be interested in seeing a video series about the mythological origins of demons and their designs? If so leave a suggestion for a demon you'd like to see
The chances were on the DS now there is no chance for a remake.
It's active. If only the English servers had had even half the amount of the events.
If you like the grinding aspect for macca, equipment and levels plus meticulously planning out your bling and demons, why not?
I wish the english servers had gotten half the content.
Found videos of the DeSu2 pachinko machine. Kind of neat, but I don't understand panchinko at all.
It's interesting to note that the clips aren't from the anime.
You should bring something to discuss instead of just screaming "wakw up!".
Like what is your favorite Megaten.
SMT Break Record hype, yurobros
>It's confirmed! We are bringing 4 more titles to Europe, dood!
Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Sea - Fall 2015
Etrian Mystery Dungeon - Fall 2015
Shin Megami Sensei Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker - Fall 2015
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight - Early 2016
All games will have a physical and digital release. More information coming soon!

I like SMTI. I can't draw but here's a sketch someone else did.
So I restarted DeSu overclocked after forgetting where I was in the story.
Going with a magic instead of strength build this time. Should I be trying to get resist physical by a certain chapter/fight?
god fucking dammit, its to heart
Isn't that what most MMORPGs are about?
Anyway if you can't handle the grind, you can always bribe your way to victory or better yet don't pick it up if you have a weak impulse control or gambling addiction. I've seen lots of lost souls eaten by F2P machine that way.
Soloing is doable. It depends on your build, equipment, demon and knowledge of demon weaknesses/resistances. Having a party with your buddy-buds makes the runs faster and more enjoyable.
Perhaps, and a lot of people discuss Ronaldo because he incites negative emotions (however, unlikeable characters aren't always bad ones). None the less, they generate the most discussion because people obviously find those three interesting to talk about, especially Yamato.
So, who else actually liked the english voices for SMT IV?
I didn't really like the japanese voices like I do for most games.
If you think Alcor is bad in that regard, wait until you find out about Miyako.
Everything surrounding her is a big mess. She's an unnecessary addition and nothing but a form of Yamato wank.
Adding her was a blunder and a big blow to the story.
They'd never have the balls to use that as the excuse. So unless they somehow surprise and come up with something very convincing, or really do have the balls to say he's gay and it caused an error when reading his corrupted data, then the whole "Canopus is incompetent and just-so-happened to get everything right but Yamato's gender" is extremely bad writing.
How could she be half alien unless one of her parents are?
Is everything that was supposed to have happened in the third world before the reset just false, implanted memories and never actually happened?
Christ it's a mess.
It would work just fine without her.
Just make it the second world, but have the MC around and everything with much higher stakes than Septentrione because Yamato had no warning or time to prepare, and really take advantage of Nicaea.
There you have it, BR already much better.
That reminds me though, the whole thing surrounding Arcturus and Yamato is fucking stupid.
He's suddenly able to come up with something to defeat it no problem when he gets Bunny back, and it would have worked if his Dragon Stream power was at full like it was in the past world.
And it's not even like he needed Bunny's power, because you just stand here doing nothing during the battle because he's the only one who can damage it, might as well not go out at all.
Sounds like bad computer programming to me.
There's no reason it can't be both.
I actually do like the Traingulum more and wish they showed them off better.
Seriously Denebola makes his entrance as the being that nearly killed them at the start instead of just some subway crash, the next one has mooks that pass on an immunity to an element the moment it's defeated by said element, and Arcturus is the Strongest!
I still like that even with the power to harm Arcturus, it was still so fucking tough that they'd all be dead before Yamato could finish it.
If only Miyako didn't show up to empower Yamato.
I was way more interested in learning what happened in the second world than I was with what was going on in the current.
Really would have preferred it to have taken place in the second and just have higher stakes in place of missing MC.
I do think they should have stuck with the Triangle angle and used Regulus instead of Cor Caroli. It misses the fucking point of it being the Triangulum if it's the Great Diamond.
Do you think the translation of P2EP will allow us to import our save from american IS? I know normally that doesnt work because of regions but maybe Traduko Soft can allow that feature?
I want my Tatsuya to have the same name i used for him in IS for EP
The only other way for them to have added her is keeping her as his sister and family heir backup, and turning Yamato into his flat-out villain anime self so she can replace his position.
And they would never:
1) Shit on his characterization and throw out all his character development like that. The anime did that and it did nothing but piss people off and I'm pretty sure Atlus is fully aware of it.
2) Do something like that to the most popular character. Keep in mind Miyako was only reconsidered because Yamato is so popular in the first place.
The game is better off without her, period. She should have stuck to being something mentioned in the artbook because he's a Gemini.
I like the sound of Break Record without her. Make it the world in the dreams/flashbacks and get some good use out of the death clip system.
Also, I kind of feel bad for Alcor fans. I dunno how they feel about his treatment in Break Record, but to me it felt like he became an even bigger idiot. You know how he's innocently alien-stupid but not incompetent in the original story? In the Triangulum arc he's off the charts brainless and problematic just to give Miyako something to do. I don't even like him but it bothered me.
Why does Satan look like an alien anyways?
The Arcturus battle was so lazy and just served to start tension between Yamato and Miyako, and have Yamato realise his Dragon Stream power depleted.
It was really anti-climatic. I agree, I wish she didn't ruin that fight and they found some kind of creative way to kill it instead once he realised there was something wrong with how the Dragon Stream was channelling in him.
Today I finally finished everything megaten, including the non-translated game. I finished absolutely everything besides nokia-tier games.
My last game was Jack Bros, besides that I've played anything I could find.
What the fuck do I do now? Did I just finish life itself?
Ritualistic suicide to summon demons. If Atlus won't make MegaTen fast enough to satisfy your needs, then you're going to have to pick up the slack yourself.
How would you rank the games you've played, out of curiosity?
So, I picked back up smtiv after a while. "Corpse Delivery Quest" is marked complete, when I go to Seat of Government the central room is empty. But I don't have an ID. What am I supposed to be doing?
Depends on how much information about the demon there is really. Demons like Lucifer I could obviously make a several part video on since there's so much information to sort through.
I made sort of a prototype episode about Jack Frost you can check out here
Might as well try, thank you
God tier: Nocturne, SMT 2,, Strange Journey Good tier: SMT, KMT, DDS 1, SMT4, P3FES, DC: White book OK tier: everything else Shit tier: some of the Devil Children games, Ronde (for some reason I hated that piece of shit so much)
I enjoyed it, it was nice and informative. I would like to see more.
I'm from New Orleans
Thanks everybody, I might do Pixie next then
No press turn is the only thing i can say it was bad in SJ. Demons dont learn new skills but when leveling up they give you something called Forma wich contains that demon skills to pass to the next fusion.
Great music, atmosphere and story. The dungeons are great if you are slightly sadistic.
>"A violinist of inhuman power who appears as a skeleton. He travels around Europe with the gypsies and plays his enchanting violin that causes people to dance the dance of death."
>"A violinist of inhuman power who appears as a skeleton. He travels around Europe with the Romani and plays his enchanting violin that causes people to dance the dance of death."
>Start Yamato's battle in Daichi's way
>Attack Yamato's party with Evil Flow boost
>Have Bunny punch out Remiel
>Python casts Megido twice because of Dual Shadow, killing Arioch and severely damaging Yamato
>Have Fumi take the kill
Killed him in three turns, a bit let down since they had made his Dragon Stream ability seems like such a big deal.
>tfw you'll never be as cool as Ozawa
why even bother ;~;
>you will never be as cool as Raidou
How does he do it?
No, seriously, how does he do it?
It's a glitch from SMTII. Instead of getting back at Aleph, reflected attacks would name some random demon for the damage (whether you had them in your party or not)
I love the idea behind this, but god damn, that text is a mess.
so I just defeated Beelzebub on Raidou 1 but i'm only level 58 and I want to battle Alice before going onto Raidou 2. Anyone knows any good grinding places or am I stuck at the training hall?
>Implying Ain't Ain't supposed to be capitalized.
>Implying ayy lmao Ain't the dankest shit since Spurdo Sparde himself.
Do you even meme bro?
>reach final boss of Raidou 2 today
its another giant fucking eyeball.
Shinado was a bitch ass nigger just like Ameno whatever. I didn't even get to see if it had any special attacks other than the eye beam thing because it died to Thunderbolts boosted with some passives before it could fly away a second time.
I was definitely over leveled. Anything on NG+ like the Raiho fight from the first game?
Because you're gay.
If you were Chaos aligned you can do case files that let you fight the completely normal blonde young man that totally isn't Lucifer no sir.
He's a total bitch if you fuse strong ice attack users.
Do the other 99 case files and you can fight Masakado if you're current alignment is Neutral.
I know one case file requires you to be Law aligned if you didn't do it already.
Just answer dialogue choices like a chaosfag would and agree with Jimenez at every opportunity. Alternatively, if you're too late in the game to have many opportunities left to change your alignment, there's this trick I copypasted from http://smtsj.wikidot.com/cheat:
Complete the ex-mission #45 "I would like to build a Yosei town here (5)" (ここに妖精の街を作りたいの(5)) at Antoria (アントリア).
Now you can talk to a Goblin (ゴブリン) nearby about a hole digging event. About 1 out of 4 times, he will ask if you'd like to help him.
According to your answer, you stance will change. One answering alone may not be enough to twist you from very chaotic to very lawful, you may have to talk a few times to see the results.
You may adjust your stance this way as often as you like.
I found neutralfagging to be beneficial for demon recruitment because the cost is never as expensive as say, a chaosfag trying to recruit a law demon. Otherwise there's no real reason to be neutral besides this being your personal viewpoint.
It's not that difficult at all. But then again, I got it on my first run answering honestly.
You're going to need to lean to chaos/law at one point in order to get neutral and people try to stay neutral all the way through and get booted out.
>walking through the Mantra base
>get attacked by two Tarakas
>I'm twelve levels above them and fought this party a dozen times before
>but it's a back attack
>Heat Wave, multiple criticals
>Heat Wave, multiple criticals
>Heat Wave, multiple criticals
>Heat Wave, multiple criticals
>Everyone in the party but Demi is dead.
Gee, playing Nocturne on Hard sure is fun.
I still won the fight though.
The main point of the games are chaos vs law. It's only natural that you will be faced with decisions that will boost your alignment several times throughout the story (especially before an alignment lock).
I understand that not every situation can have a chaos, law and neutral response. That's fine. But that still fucking sucks that a person could get kicked off the neutral path and have no chance to recover because they had the audacity to be on the neutral path. Isn't that the obvious thing to do if you wanted the neutral end?
Fucking up the world beyond repair isn't necessarily appealing to everybody who plays SMT, buddy. If you play SMT for the opportunity to be a psychopath that's cool I guess but different kinds of endings appeal to different people.
What kind of setting do you want to see in V? A continuation or prequel? Normal Tokyo or fucked up Tokyo? Human dominated or demon infested?
Same. I'll miss those never-ending commercial ad shout spams and forum discussions from way back that repeated the message of: 'IMAGINE's doomed you guys, why are you still playing it?'.
Well, you can always do what the others did and join the JP server if you've still got the time and patience for it.
More like, you will never have a good enough fashion style like him.
I'm more impressed how he keeps his cool even when slipping on banana peels every time.
I honestly would prefer if they just made V its own thing with no direct story ties to any of the previous games outside of some cameos and offhanded references to fuck with the people who try to make comprehensive series timelines.
I just want to explore the apocalypse and talk to demons before I kill all my friends.
I could probably accomplish all that except get a gf
have 24 demons, use the broken buff that last forever and target everyone for minimal sp cost, get the negotiation apps so you can level by recruiting + fusing instead of fighting.
World of dex build with buffs and healing skills
>Chakra drops require both forma and macca to produce in SJ
4 recovery cores for these shits and they don't even restore enough MP for a War Cry, is MP management supposed to be a constant challenge throughout the game?
>get the negotiation apps so you can level by recruiting + fusing instead of fighting.
Not him, but can you elaborate? I just started playing yesterday. Would that tactic require me to buy a vast amount of slots or should I just dismiss and recruit?
you can fuse or delete demons and just keep recruiting demons once you max the exp and the apps that makes demons joining you easier. This way you get more exp than by fighting enemies especially when the demons you recruit can chain recruit other demons.
Hey, /smtg/ I have a question.
"The crossdressing guy" seems to be a running joke in the franchise (like the stepladder in PW), as far as I'm aware? There's one in every Persona game starting from Megami Ibunroku, the 'Male?' manikin in Asakusa, etc.
When did that one start?
Should I play Devil Survivor 1 or 2? I tried 1 a few years back but didn't really dig the story, and quit despite liking the gameplay. Only have a DS, so the 3DS ports aren't an option.
And yes, I'm a massive fan of Evangelion. I've been told this is relevant for two.
I haven't been here for months. Man, I wanted to read all those Break Record spoilers.
By the way, can you play the new story in Break Record without beating the main game first? I don't want to play through DeSu2 again just to see the new stuff.
Why are you incapable of making decisions yourself? Why would you ask despite not liking it?
>I've been told this is relevant for two.
Barely. People only make the comparison because of aliens and Eva is all they know.
Holy fuck, just google you dumb nigger.
In EP (and/or maybe IS?), if you save and reload you can make the fortune tellers shit last forever, apparently.
Atlus USA have revealed their DLC schedule for Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker in North America. Every piece of DLC for the game takes the form of a Free Battle and all but the Beginner’s Brawl will scale incrementally with your protagonist. Here’s the list, starting with the two pieces of permanently free DLC:
Beginner’s Brawl (Free): This is the one Free Battle that won’t scale with level, so make sure to tackle it early on. The enemies are a little on the weak side, but can still pack a punch if you’re not careful. Defeating them will earn you some quick Macca (demonic currency) to blow at the Demon Auction and get your team started off right.
Lost Demon Rescue (Free): A persuadable demon is caught in the middle of two hordes. If you can protect the demon and survive the onslaught, the demon will join your party! Use it to bolster your ranks or keep it for fusion fodder. (Not to mention that some of the demons you’re up against have useful skills to crack!)
Moving on, below is the list of paid content. Each piece will cost $.099 (CA$1.49).
Macca Makes an Escape: This battle poses a chase scenario. Demons are fleeing with their pockets stuffed with Macca, and it will be up to the player to run them down and beat the payout out of them. The demons are carrying three times the usual amount of Macca, and even though they’re fleeing, they’ll put up a good fight if you catch them.
All Skills Must Go!: Scattered around the battlefield are memory sticks loaded with powerful skills for your party. But the demons around have their eyes on them too, and will try and abscond with the memory sticks. This is one situation when you’re going to want to make sure to use non-combat skills that slow down enemies and/or speed up your party, because nothing is as infuriating as watching a Moh Shuvuu fly off with a powerful healing skill.
Let the Demons Grow:This is an old-fashioned free-for-all battle. These demons are loaded with extra experience, so systematically pick them off to reap EXP rewards and level your entire party.
Addonetarium: This battle is for higher-level characters, but is hugely beneficial towards the middle of the game when you can start implementing add-ons to your fusion. Basically, the add-ons give the fused demon a specific bonus, and can mean the difference between an average demon and all-powerful killing machine.
The rollout schedule for downloadable content is as follows:
May 5 – Game launch, Beginner’s Brawl, Macca Makes an Escape!
May 12 – All Skills Must Go!, Lost Demon Rescue, Let the Demons Grow
May 19 – Addonetarium
Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker will be released in North America on May 5th. Meanwhile, NIS America will release the game in Europe this Fall.
Definitely go Chaos your first run. It unlocks case files on your second playthrough.
On your second run go Neutral leaning towards Law. One case file requires you to be law aligned to do and the final case file can only be unlocked if you do the other 99 and are Neutral aligned.
You can change your alignment easily and freely after you get midway through Chapter 4 when you can do the bath trick.
Some guy on pixiv. It's not part of anything erotic.
I miss the time back when I was still a repressed pervert. All this bottled up emotion, when I finally gave in I would cum with the force of lightning. Now nothing's taboo anymore.
Sometimes you have this connection where you know they know you know all the way to infinity and you can communicate without words, just by glancing into their eyes for a second to confirm that they know, and for a moment you'd think to yourself "we know". I don't know why I thought we had that, just false hope.
If anything SMT is the most straight series out there. Were else will you find so many female boobs and asses? Please dont drag smtg into your faggotry.
Please SMT 4 on the 3DS alone has more boobs than half the VITA library.
OK, where else will you find so many female boobs and asses in a game that has more to it than pandering shit for otaku and weeaboos who haven't discovered or are afraid of actual porn/hentai?
>Ronaldo devastated over Daichi getting kidnapped
>call Ronaldo "trash"
>Yamato is mildly amused but tries to cheer him up
I don't know what I find more amusing, Yamato being nice to Ronaldo, or all the choices in Break Record that make you sound like Yamato.
Anyway, I'm disappointed at how easy Miyako's battle was.
Even her Cor Corali form. Heck, the Cor Corali battle may have even be easier than the first. Also, Cor Corali looks like a drag queen.
DeSu 2 boss designs were terrible all around.
>around 14-15 hours into SMT IV
>Find random domain
>The boss is level 75 holy shit what the fuck
>Win because one of my demons is immune to every type of attack the boss has
Was this supposed to be endgame stuff? I got "one of three treasures".
Yo, devil survivor overclocked just came in the mail. Are there any skills that I need really badly? It's been a fuck load of years since I played the original and all I can remember is ice dance at the beginning and pierce.
It's shit, who cares if they get it.
>Not liking delicious ice cream, bubble gum, ice cream bar, giant scoops of ice cream with cones all over it, rock candy, a big ass cake, hershey kisses, and some box inside a box.
>A hat, a bowl, a cheese grater, and a drag queen with yaoi hands.
Erikonig, right? I beat him when I found him as well. It's really skills and weaknesses/resistances that matter, much moreso than level.
Which is why a level 45 or so Grendel kept wrecking me when I found his domain but I could beat the level 75 Erikonig
Angels are pretty cool looking, except for the SMT 4 archangels, those guys are just ugly
Are any of the quests in SMT IV missable or blocked out after progressing to a certain point?
If yes what point would that be?
>look for demi fiend art on pixiv
>dante x demi fiend everywhere
>demi fiend x raidou everywhere
life must be so easy for homos
It is when it comes to this stuff.
I'm not sure I fully get the question but each ending has its own exclusive quests. The ending you get depends on your choices during the entire game during dialog options and quests.
>picked on DDS duology recently
>all the feels until the airport part
>then that transformation
>then that ending
Was this some sort of extreme trolling going on? Because I want my damn feels back.
I've actually done that before
I had a dream that I was browsing /smtg/ and people were shitposting. I woke up to it being a reality
Thanks a lot man, really appreciate it!
My main problem is that i don't really know how to use a search engine, i never learned. I never had a computer growing up so this is all new to me.
Well here, this link should teach you everything you need to know.
Make sure you read the grey box under the search button, it'll go by pretty fast too you. Don't be afraid to click this link again if you don't get it the first time.
Contributing hours late:
Chaos alignment may invite cruelty and suffering for the masses, but I can respect that it's a philosophy in favor of the natural order of the universe. There's no getting around the fact that all things inevitably fall apart and return to chaos.
By the way, has Atlus ever done any official polls on favored alignment among the player base?
I like Pale the best but all are good.
Pretty early into Sector H.
Not really. It pushes Chaos the hardest.
You think? It's just that it sets you up as a soldier so in that stupid mindset I'm always thinking, "follow orders" blah blah... Though I know which choices are neutral so I've been able to stay there.
I think it sort of pushes law in the early game but moves more towards chaos and neutral later on
Just finished Ronaldo's Triangulum ending. It's kind of neat. You get attacked again immediately at school, open Nicaea, Tico says something very cryptic, the Canopus battle theme plays.
It's like a glorified bad end, but in a good way.
It's a shame the Triangulum arc's story is dragged down by all the bullshit plot twists surrounding Miyako. It had potential.
There were also some inconsistencies from Septentrione to Triangulum. The Hotsuins jumped from being Japan's shield to humanity's shield, for example.
Why is Kagutsuchi so fucking easy?
Not only does he waste turns with pointless dialogue, but he can't do jack shit about your buffs since he only has dekunda and no dekaja. Infinite Light uses two press turns and is very predictable, and he doesn't have any resistances.
There would be licencing issues and stuff that they'd have to get around. Durarara is credited very well in the credits, it's not like they can just randomly bring it over here because they want to.
So I've played Persona 3/4, Devil Survivor 1/2 and I decided to try DDS, to learn the mechanics before playing Nocturne (don't wanna mess things up right from the start with what I heard is the best game).
So far I really didn't like DDS that much, the story is great, but extremely minimal, dungeons are long but fun, besides random encounters, they are just way too often. If I use the item thing to lower the encounters, they're way too few. I'm not sure I like this type of combat either.Where are demons and fusions?
Does Nocturne have better dungeons/enemy encounter rates? How about the demons and the fusions, are those well done in Nocturne? (I actually kinda liked the Persona fusion system in P3/4). Should I just go for Nocturne or does DDS get better? I only played 4 hours-ish and finished the dungeon with the red/blue eyed heads that throw you below
Just play Nocturne, normal mode isn't going to be very hard if you use your buffs and debuffs, and it has a great fusion/recruitment system. You're going to want to play it through a second time anyway, and the way your compendium transfers on your second cycle makes it perfect for a hard mode run.
The random encounter rate is just as high as it would be in DDS, but the dungeons tend to be pretty reasonable in length and none overstay their welcome. And since you're going to want to recruit and fuse and level up as much as possible, the high random encounter rate is a good thing.
I'd say it's the best SMT, unless you really don't like turn based combat or dungeon crawling it'd be pretty hard to not have fun with Nocturne.
Thanks, I really thought I'd get shit on here if I bitched about the length of DDS dungeons.
I find it very tedious trying to find your way around a long dungeon, while occasionally getting thrown way back, and having to do all this with enemies popping up every few steps
I have an old modded Xbox somewhere around
Should I? Soundtrack sounds fucking amazing, but I dont' know Japanese. Can I? Should I?
Do you think Team Maniax will announce the game they said they're working on this year?
