This general is for the discussion of English translated Japanese visual novels.
Discussions of untranslated visual novels are tolerated.
Kindly use spoiler tags appropriately when discussing plot spoilers to facilitate smooth discussion.
Just upload the uncracked game on nyaa or AS and someone will crack it soon.
It's no wonder it's not cracked yet because nobody outside this thread even knows the damn thing exists since MG did such a splendid job with marketing.
Got the exe memory dumped, I'll post crack in the next thread.
The OP is wrong, please follow the following rule instead:
This general is for the sole discussion of English translated Japanese visual novels and any kind of untranslated discussion is looked down upon. If you want to talk about untranslated games, please seek the specific thread at /jp/.
Can we just not have tiltposting in this thread?
Kinda hard to do when CG like this just calls out to be untilted.
Hello friends, to commemorate the release of Kara no Shoujo 2 in English, here's an interview with Innocent Grey's Sugina Miki from last week's Tech Gian. Enjoy reading.
If I recall one TEST AL,AL that didn't need to be Noops , does it ruin everything ?
is this the correct thing to find? what do i do next?
No, go to kara no shoujo module.
Still haven't figured it out though, by replacing the first 3 TEST AL,ALs I can bypass the activation code and the game will attempt to start for a split second, I can see the window. But that's all
>It's not moe enough
That's what I thought.
But it does focus much on gore fetishism, I don't really understand what they are on about or who they are trying to target.
The story is decent enough.
>I don't really understand what they are on about or who they are trying to target
Gore may not be arousing but it can still look very visually appealing. The gore in KnS can only be described as incredibly beautiful.
>tfw you will never fuck school aged girls with a honey coated voice
Too bad your rule doesn't mean a fucking thing anon, not too bad so far though not too far in Got stoned and passed out
Does anyone else fucking *hate* when english translations have misaligned text in textboxes? Same goes for when there's a second row under a quotation mark. A space to align the text after the mark is ideal. Why is it so rare to find this in fan translations?
The only recent project that I can think of recently that got it right was the Kikokugai remake from a year back, and that was otherwise a pretty shit job on the author's part. My OCD is killing me.
>The plan for this month is to get the latest state of the translation ingame, wrap it in a nice and easy one-click installer, and bring you the patch. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be released this month (if we find any major issues for example), but it does mean that there will be no more major changes.
Let me guess:
It's another VN set in high school where one of the heroines is MC's childhood friend. It has no plot, and consists of the cast's wacky school life, where they each route will feature different clubs and activities, with at least one of them involving either the MC or his bottom bitch becoming school president.
Absolutely riveting, chap.
In the anime
the MC becomes president.
Can anyone comment on the anime vs VN? I remember the anime being bland and generic as fuck. Somehow a little worse than your usual moege/highschool garbage.
Almost, they have student council election going on in the anime. Was okay considering I hate student council shit, though the anime will naturally be faster paced.
Some of the drama was pretty forced though.
Who was she again? I watched this years ago.
Bonus points for telling any tsundere to fuck off regardless of the VN in my books. Most tsunderes (these days) are shit. Might actually give this VN a go despite the animu being poor/mediocre.
What the fuck happened?
>nop any returns/jumps that would prevent the MOV AL,1 from being called
What do I NOP exactly.
There are few TEST AL,AL sections you need to NOPsthat are right before the MOV.AL1 those TEST AL,AL sections are the ones you need to turn into NOP, then when its done just run the target thread/process or whatever it is and if done right the VN should fire right up anon.
nop the eax, 1 as well since the last two bytes of eax = al, that might be why some people are crashing instantly if they're running KnS on the wrong OS and they're not using detours properly
you need to nop them correctly as well
Thanks but I just did what >>120930378 suggested AND IT FUCKING WORKS
i got it working too... i only NOP 1 TEST AL,AL
This exact NOP worked for me too, I got stuck because people kept mentioning other and multiple NOPs but that never let me run it. Do I have to do this every time I want to start it or can I automate it or whatever?
"HUR DUR WHERE DA CRACK AT?" You guys r fucking cancer. I don't even play vns much bcas most of it is moeshit. But when I do I find out that majority of u faggots don't even support patrician shit like KNS2.
only one set of nops needed? maybe I overcomplicated things by assuming every game with soft-denchi worked the same
minori does have a shitload of additional protection on their games, especially on ef - the first tale
I don't know, she seems pretty friendly to me.
She slowly poured the water over Rika's back.
"Nh..." Rika stirred. She'd stopped growing, and her body was completely that of a woman's. Saya slowly looked at her own body, nothing but a girl's. So this is the difference only a few years makes?
"What is it?" Rika looked behind her.
"Nothing..." Saya shook her head and gathered Rika's hair together. "Please, go ahead." Saya urged her, but Rika shook her head.
"Why don't we both get in, given the opportunity?" Taking Saya's hand, Rika got into the bath. Saya followed reluctantly. The bathwater rose up and spilled out.
They had to entwine their legs to both fit in the bath. Saya's leg was between Rika's thighs. Her toes touched Rika's pubic hair. Saya looked down between her own legs; she only had sparse hairs growing there, making her feel even more embarrassed. Rika's white legs were right beside her. Saya was unable to raise her face, merely staring down dizzily at her toenails.
I could feel my hot sperm gushing deep into Asuna as she trembled in yet another climax. Two years worth of semen made a glopping noise as it flowed endlessly into Asuna. Every time my penis twitched, fireworks would go off in my head.
After receiving all that I had to give her, Asuna's strength gave out as she fell on top of me.
I gently embraced Asuna while she continued to gasp and convulse as if she was being stimulated by the fluids inside her body as my consciousness dimmed.
yes, it's the second best utsuge, behind MLA (assuming you count that as an utsuge)
I liked how each heroine was involved with someone, that's something you don't see in many vns
but the third chapter is the best one
oh yeah, after the amazing third chapter the fourth seems boring as fuck, though I still enjoyed it
it reminded me a bit of eden* since Kuze's sick and he's trying to drive Mizuki away so she won't have to deal with loving a dying person
you should have continued onto Yuuko's chapter, though, since that one's pretty good
>stayed in /vn/
>probably spoiled as fuck
I pity you
Still not up on sukebei or AS ? Damn even among pirates KnS2 is a fucking flop. It's so funny and sad at the same time.
Of course I have taken precautions. What do you think I am, an amateur EOP?
>everyone talking about KnS2
>already played the first one long ago and re played recently.
> can't start KnS2 because I'm not arround pc for long time
> when I finish it you guys will be shitting mangagamer for not translating KnS3
They need the approval of Innocent Grey to do that. There is no "all ages" version of KnS 1 and 2, only for Cartagra with the PS2 version.
I'm sure MG want to bring all of their titles on Steam but it's more complicated than it seems.
Plus Doddler just said that steam sales are currently weak.
They just need to work on their old and shitty website, and their shop so that people can buy their products (i can't because they don't want to take my credit card even if it worked when i abroad) and put more money into marketing. Euphoria will be a success because the anime adaptation is famous but that's not the same for InnoGrey titles, they need advertisement
Like always. I've never seen any ad from MG but i've seen a lot from Jast (S;G, Romanesque, Starless and Shiny Days) and it looks like Sekai Jewject is doing their marketing by frequently posting on reddit.
They have the best catalog but never use it efficiently. I mean even when it comes to nukige they have the best titles and cater to a lot of fetishes.
to get better at programming so I can eventually make waifubots a reality
I'm reading KnS 2 but it's so slow paced with this pre-war stuff that I keep getting distracted.
I gave eden* a 10 as well, but I felt ef was slightly better.
I don't think this is how you are supposed to widescreen.
Fucking 4chan ate my post.
The crack instructions have been posted and clarified, you just have to work a little bit to get at it.
Investing your money or time into something will only make you enjoy it more! Just like how something you worked hard at to cook yourself will taste better due to the effort required.
Anyone know where I can find Chaos Head that isn't FUNA?
so far I only encountered this link which is probably the same
If you're talking about learning Japanese I reccomend staying here. It's a well known truth that your mindset is directly influenced by your environment, saying on /vn/ will encourage you to read VNs (which is essential to learning Japanese).
>Go to /hg/ to get into game mechanics like Rance games
>After 5 minutes forget everything and start fapping to that witch who calls MC of a certain VN a delusional fool
I never got into those games / generals. Have to get RPG maker and most games are untranslated indie shit that you have to obtain from weird forums. Quality of 2D hentai games is seriously low.
I am extremely blessed to have fetishes that hgames abundantly cater to, and furthermore, to be aroused even by "bad" art, and in some cases further aroused the worse the art is. My home is H-game and I love tons of them
Well to be clear /hgg/ is a seperate entity from /hgg/ 2Dhgg ~ hgg2D, so nukige like "taimanin asagi" are included in what I call h-games.
I like rape where the women like it in the end, (or any sex where the women are really into it), which is very well covered. Furthermore, my favourite body type is "healthy" (i.e. big tits and such) which is the most common in hentai.
> I guess if you like rape then hgames are for you. I prefer it to be more tender and loving though.
What about both though?
>You will never have an onee-san tenderly femdom you and toss your salad making you feel violated despite being a man
Interesting thing about sempai, people insist on the "m" being correct since that's how it really sounds when it's spoken. But I've noticed that when VAs enunciate each syllable for emphasis, they clearly say "sen-pai" and not "sem-pai"
More like "Tilt: The Game 2 - Tilt Harder".
True, just went through gallery and only 4 CGs aren't tilted.
$150, since there's a figma and I'll resell the digital copy
would have pirated it if not for the Vita physical
muv luv could've used a little less sumika.
>vn that had an already established fanbase and hype train behind it
Do you think every japanese dev will be met with that success?
This thread is still as good as ever it seems.
I like you guys.
Or is someone finally advocating for Kappa rights?
They might've gotten a bit too into Ayakashibito.
I doubt that what the VN depicts happened to Youkai and other spirits and monsters actually occurred.
Just go for it.
It's extremely fun and good.
Too under-appreciated around here. It's better than Fate at least in my opinion and kind of similar.
I hope our feelings reached the translator even though we were much too late.
I just hope the guy didn't kill himself or anything, he sounded kind of depressed.
It's unfortunate that the translation didn't get as much attention at first, because it's a pretty good translation.
You have to have at least read Italo Calvino, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Twain, Virginia Woolf, James Joyce, Raymond Chandler, Marcel Proust, Dorothy Allison, Jean-Luc Fabre, Victor Hugo, Gustav Flaubert, Vladimir Nabokov, Alfred Bester, Douglas Adams, Graham Greene, Lewis Carroll, Herman Melville, Roland Barthes, Roald Dahl, EB White, Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, David Hume, Ted Chiang, Voltaire, Soren Kirkeegard, William Shakespeare, Kurt Vonnegut, Edith Wharton, Andy Weir, St. Augustine of Hippo, Patricia Highsmith, Harper Lee, Truman Capote, Frank Herbert, Joseph Heller, Fyodor Doestovsky, Nikolai Gogol, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson, Maurice Sendak, T.H. White, E.M. Forster, Albert Camus, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Stuart Dybek, Shirley Jackson, David Foster Wallace, Paul Torday, John Fowles, David Mitchell, Umberto Eco, Robert A. Heinlein, Henrik Ibsen, Ron Hansen, Ken Kesey, George Orwell, Jonathan Swift, Edward Said, Elie Wiesel, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte, H.P. Lovecraft, Christina Rossetti, John Steinbeck, Joseph Conrad, Washington Irving, Brian Doyle, Charles Dickens, William Faulkner, Stephen Pinker, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Ludwig Wittgenstein, CS Lewis, HG Wells, Thomas Hardy, Alice Walker, Aldous Huxley, Anthony Burgess, JD Salinger, Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelley, Connie Willis, Bruce Sterling, John Irving, Arthur Miller, Eowyn Ivey, Max Weber, Dennis Lehane, Larry McMurtry, Sara Gruen, Cormac McCarthy, Jack Kerouac and Levi-Strauss to properly appreciate it. It's not for lesser minds such as yourself.
Yeah hopefully not.
Well at least if he did he gets to go to VN translator heaven with 99 2d virgin girls since he was a good translator.
Fuwa's machine translators only go to 99 horny fat gay neckbeards. And they're not even 2d.
My mistake for replying to the wrong guy before
I see the begging for a crack has stopped, was everyone successful in noping the TEST AL, AL to jump the MOV AL, 1 to call the PRNG implementation at the offset then edit the server's response to detour it?
I have reverse engineered the portion of the wrapper that matters, and have made an unwrapper that should be able to unwrap versions 1 through 7. But before I present that, here's what I think about SoftDenchi. Quite frankly, the wrapper system is very weak. I don't know if Paltiosoft is underestimating people, or if they're incompetent, but the wrapper presents little challenge to anyone wishing to unwrap, especially if they've already gotten a valid activation key. The wrapper's protection is encrypting a portion of the protected EXE's code, but the amount is so small it's almost meaningless. In the v7 sample I have 32 bytes are encrypted starting at the entry point.
If you know about reverse engineering, you will know that the entry point typically contains the runtime initializer, and this code is similar between many executables using that runtime. So it's possible to just find another EXE with similar code, copy it over, fix a few offsets, and you're done. Exit, from above, is v6, and only had 16 bytes encrypted. There is no anti-dump, so you can just run the game, dump process, and copy over the unprotected bytes. Not only that, but the wrapper uses a publicly available PRNG implementation, and using that to perform XOR encryption. (It's a good thing they did that, because it meant less work for me. I wonder what the period on the PRNG is.) The wrapper has no support for in-memory patching of EXEs with TLS nor relocations. And you can practically skip all of its licensing checks by jumping past those instructions (and it'll decrypt and launch the game, with enough time for you to do a memory dump).
Overall, it's just braindead and rather pathetic. You don't even need a code to decrypt it. If this is what company that made "the #1 DRM system used in Japan" can come up with, I think it is rather insulting to the Japanese.
Clad in iron mail.
Sporting my awesome plumes.
So is anyone actually going to reverse engineer the portion of the wrapper that matters, and make an unwrapper that should be able to unwrap versions 1 through 7? Or just upload a crack?
Unwrapper + source code: http://www29.zippyshare.com/v/rfiiVZFe/file.html
To use, just drag and drop the protected EXE on to the unwrapper EXE, and it'll do its work. You may see a (EXE name)_unwrapped.exe file which will be the unwrapped version, or nothing, if they don't use an embedded EXE. Check the unwrapper's output for details.
If you encounter any EXE that doesn't unwrap properly, post them here and I'll take a look for you.
I download too many games with the sole goal of cracking them open...
I'm a game modder and reverse engineer. Every game I touch gets its resource archives unpacked. For games that I particularly like, I might try to mod them to fix bugs or create new content. I also happen to have a disdain for DRM, and would generally try to remove them. I also dislike Steam, but I'm more accepting of it even though it's essentially a big bloaty DRM system. I can overlook that for the content delivery part and its game discussions on Steam Community.
he doesn't have it, he's just autistically reposting parts of that post
just use the NOPs method described earlier
proper crack won't show up until people actually notice KnS2 actually exists
All memes aside the total silence on KnS2 is kind of depressing. It's almost entirely on MG, but they're going to use the preorder numbers as an excuse to not bother with any other IG stuff. Feels really shitty.
In the real world, Soft-denchi DRM is pretty weak. While it's not so trivial that the typical user can defeat it, to anyone who has some experience with reverse engineering DRMs it is quite easy.
Its first big weakness is that it has no external dependencies for decrypting game code. That means one doesn't need to own the game or even need to have Soft-denchi installed to unpack the executable. If unpacking live, it may be a bit trickier because you have to go around any Soft-denchiworks API calls, but it's not that hard. Because the scheme doesn't have this external dependency, it is a good candidate for static unpacking.
The second great weakness is that it doesn't encrypt any data sections or really attempt to make it hard to dump. All values in the protected executable are really easy to recover (except for the DOS stub that gets overwritten if a signature is applied). The fact that it doesn't encrypt imports or data sections means only the encrypted code needs to be dumped and written back to the protected executable, along with the original entry point, since code is typically in a read-only segment of memory so it doesn't change.
The only thing that it has got going is that it is fairly unobtrusive and works properly 90% of the time (the other 10% can usually be attributed to the Soft-denchiworks API not working properly as it tends to do). Further, once control has been passed to the original game code, the DRM has no further part in the game, so no active protection is offered. This scheme is an interesting little thing to study, but is probably not worth the time Paltiosoft put into developing it for its rather poor protection value.
yea but weren't miyako, agave, and some side stories missing from the original patch and part of the fuwa patch? not wild about touching that shit
i also only did mayucchi's route so i'd have alot of catching up to do
Well, for the first game they needed to sell 2,000 copies before licensing the voices was commercially viable, supposedly. So unless InnoG or the VA agency decided to be a lot more generous in their royalties this one probably did not do well considering how short it fell.
Then again, it's not as if the first one met that goal right away. I think it took years to get there, but it did eventually I think.
Well to be perfectly honest I haven't even played Utawarerumono and was just shitposting.
I don't even know those characters but they sound gay to me.
You made my day with your compliment.
At least reddit is liking it, it seems like literally the only "marketing" for it
At least this gives me some motivation to get through the slow start
Why would anyone buy something that they can get for free?
>Please note that this game is only available in Japanese.
>being inept at cracking shitty DRM
>tfw you found another EXE with similar code, copied it over, and fixed a few offsets, and you're done
>tfw you can just run the game, dump process, and copy over the unprotected bytes
Fuck off mate.
She's too good for your ugly ass anyway.
>not maintaining an ideal physique and health through sheer force of will and neetdom
This vocab is too advanced for me
I fug my onahole a few times dailybut it's clearly not enough exercise, thinking about reading KnS 2 while using my treadmill that I stopped using
>using my treadmill
Why won't you normalfags just leave us in peace?
>having a laptop
>being able to stand up from your chair
This is too much normalness for today.
This thread is lost for good.
>installing some poorly coded Jap DRM shit onto your computer to play some chinese powerpoint porn game a few days before the crack comes out
This is actually pretty comfy although the screen angle isn't ideal.
Oh boy, not this faggot again.
Who /linux/ here? No DRM there btw
So looks like any chance of the tsukihime remake having voice acting just went out the window.
Not all nip studios honor dead VAs, but even if they do by the time it comes out enough time may have passed for them to justify recasting her like Atlus is doing with Igor in Persona 5.
If by today you mean the 27th of October
Her last blog post was "When I get better I'm seriously going to try and get married"
I bet you have your mommy read your books with silly voices for every character as well.
Iirc it's a combination of weaker immune systems due to their diet. It might also be a result of stress and other factors like that due to the work culture, but I could be completely wrong.
I'm guessing with pneumonia, she just thought it was a regular cold and kept taking cold medicine instead of going to the doctor and getting antibiotics. That's why they said that if your symptoms don't improve after a few days, you should go to the doctors.
These slanted sprites are killing me. Is this because I'm a dirty pirate?
Miyu Matsuki has just passed away on October 27th from acute pneumonia.
Thank you. I turned 38 today!
I got a lot of messages and well-wishes, as well as response from my agency. Thank you so much!
The truth is, a birthday even was planned and prepared for this year, too.
To everyone who looked forward to it in support, I'm sorry.
Please wait for the day when we can all enjoy one together!
My 38th birthday was a day I'll never forget.
My main physician told me repeatedly that it was impossible and thought of all sorts of ways to make it happen, since there were lots of restrictions on location, time, number of attendees, and etc. I got a special permission for the go-ahead!
>Her last blog post was "When I get better I'm seriously going to try and get married"
