Effective horizontal tolerance with foregrip - Orion - 0.54 degree, MSW- 0.36 degree (!)
Maximum damage range - Orion - 10m, MSW-R 15m
Velocity - Orion - 540 m/s, MSW-R 580 m/s
Cone of fire - 0.35 with 0.05 bloom, 0.40 with 0.04 Bloom. For the first 5 shots MSW-R is more accurate cof wise.
Only thing where Orion really is better is lack of recoil angle.
For the first 5 shots everything is pretty much pin-point accurate.
It's not until ~10-15 rounds that bloom ever becomes a problem on most guns, and that is where the Orion is going to do much better. It's especially important for medium-long range fire, or shooting at a small target like the head.

A burst doesn't magically and immediately reset your CoF to 0, it takes time.
And, interestingly enough, when your CoF blooms less, your burst fire is going to be more effective because bloom hasn't grown as much - once again, a benefit at mid-long range shooting.
Potentially, there is now a burst fire rate with these buffed VS weapons where they can burst fire almost indefinitely without appreciable increase in bloom at a speed conducive to actual combat.

Yet 90% of the TR don't use the T9-CARV/T9A Butcher like the VS used the Orion/Betelgeuse.
If the VS would have just spread out their gun use they wouldn't have had that problem
I know this because I've noticed the gun use changes of those VS killing me is changing to a variety of LMG's while the TR remains pretty varied (although hardly anybody uses the MCG).

I don't know what's going on in the latest BF games, but in BF2142 the support class was very powerful. They had infinite nades and a HMG that raped anything it touched. They also had something similar to the infil darts and also the engie turret. I loved that game.
I always wanted to play it, but never got the chance because shit-tier computer and no money.
Now I have some money and an average computer, but bf2142 is like half a decade old.
And it STILL looks better than the current crop of battlefield games.
Older games didn't have many post processing effects. There was no DOF, color aberration, lens flares, blur, color filters and other crap like that. Most had bloom but that's nowhere near as annoying as the shit you see today. 2007-2010 were great years for graphics in video games. Sure, they weren't as realistic and detailed as today's games, but they were "cleaner". You don't feel like you're watching edited GoPro footage when you're playing 2142.

The MSW-R is one of the best CQC LMGs available. When they buff the thing so it competes with the MSW-R in CQC but still functions well at long range, then the Orion is the best gun in the game.
Except that statistically, it's performance isn't even 5% above the Eridani.
The cyclone's the best SMG, but if it's the overpowered monster you're claiming it is, then ALL the SMG's are overpowered monsters. The TR's best SMG is only 3% below the Cyclone on average - the differences are literally marginal.
Meanwhile the Betelgeuse, and now Pulsar LSW are doing ~20% better than the Anchor.
And not a peep from Vanu assholes about THAT.
The Eridani could use a small buff.
The betelgeuse and pulsar need a large nerf, or the TR and NC need their guns to get equivalent buffs.

When are they going to get around to buffing the magrider? The whole point is mobility - it strafes way too slow. Needs at least 1.5x the strafe power, and magburner needs way more fuel too.
stay at range, have you ever tried lobbing rockets at one from 40+ meters they are almost immune to rockets at long range, even dropping c4 on them is way harder to do than on other tanks.

Always pull AP unless there's a good infantry farm, in which case use HE.
Max anchored mode and get a few ranks of ammo as soon as you can.
AP, racer 1, anchor 1 and 2, stealth 1 and 2, racer 2, anchor 3 and 4, stealth 3 and 4, racer 3, maxed reload speed. Throw in a few ranks of ammo here and there.
If you're soloing you'll want a Walker on the top to scare off aircraft, if you have a regular gunner use the Halberd or Vulcan depending on the range at which you like engaging at. Use the Gatekeeper if you're a faggot and like using OP weapons.

Not arguing for VS LMGs, but it's really short. Specifically, after a delay equal to the refire rate, it resets at 20 degrees per second for everything except a few oddities which reset slightly slower (Bursters reset at 10/s, the Blackhand resets even slower I think, there might be a couple others).
For example, an extended mag EM6 will bloom out to 12 degrees if fired without pause for the entire magazine. Refire rate is 100ms, then bloom reset will take 600ms more.
A more likely example is, say, an Orion fired for 10 shots: 80ms refire + 20ms for bloom reset. A CARV would take 80ms for refire, then 25ms for bloom reset and so on.

Make sure you fill out your lots first, i.e. nanoweave or flak armor, AOE heal upgrades etc before getting a new gun. Gauss rifle and mercenary are good guns for all situations/ranges
If you hold down the mouse button for too long, bullets start to go everywhere. Becoming comfortable with a weapon's recoil means reflexively knowing how long each burst should be, and how much you should drag the mouse down or to the side when firing.

How big of a thing is 0.75 ADS?
I was looking at buying either the TAR or burst variant cycler. People here seem to talk up 0.75 as one of the defining OP things on the Orion, and TAR has got that, but then people also say the burst's are best.
1000 / (ROF / 60) + bloom * shots_fired * 50 = delay to bloom reset, in ms, after the last shot was fired
e.g. 20-shot burst SAW is 1000 / (500 / 60) + 0.07 * 20 * 50 = 190ms
As >>121016101, the TAR's horizontal recoil really is horrendous, it has higher horizontal tolerance than any other gun in the game, as well as some of the harshest per-shot recoil.
Its primary use used to be as a big SMG, extremely tight hipfire on top of top-tier DPS, but then the .75 ADS nerfs came along and made its ADS handle like shit, and the laser sight nerfs happened around the same time that made its hipfire mediocre with an advanced laser, so now it doesn't do anything particularly well.

The 50 is just a simplified (1000 / 20), where the 20 is degrees per second and the 1000 is to turn it from seconds into ms.

Yeah, pretty much. For typical bursts, most of the reset time is in the refire delay rather than the bloom decay phase.

Not quite, in that example the first 120ms is just waiting for the refire delay, then bloom reset kicks in at 20 degrees per second (COF and bloom is also in degrees, by the way), which takes another 70ms to decay 1.4 degrees of bloom.
I know the calculation sounds fast, but I verified by going over recordings frame-by-frame at one point and it was always spot on.
Fun fact, bloom reset speed is actually defined separately for every fire mode and for every animation state (standing, walking, crouching, crouch-walking, sprinting and falling), for every weapon. A weapon with a semi, burst and auto selector has its bloom reset speed internally defined 18 different times, and all of them are always set to 20. Efficiency.

If the person who fired the missile dies, the missile will fly up like that, also if the pilot uses a flare it will 'sometimes' fly up like that. It was most noticeable with the old OP striker.

EMP grenades need to be removed completely.
They have more range than frags and leave everyone with 500 hp which means that a single guy can take out an entire squad. By far the cheesiest and most overpowered thing in this game. It ruins teamplay and makes point defenses impossible since EMP followed by a single MAX rushing in, results in a massacre and it's not even hard to pull that off. Semi auto snipers, lolpods, gatekeeper, 0.75 ADS HAs and C4 spammers aren't even close to OP when compared with this nade. Fuck EMP.
You can take my EMPs when I can take your Claymores.

EMP grenades offer interesting gameplay. They don't need to be removed but they are currently overpowered by their large radius while also ignoring walls.
Instead I'd prefer multiple kinds of EMPs as there are multiple kinds of grenades for certain situations:
-current EMP nerfed to have a much smaller area covered, everything else remains the same
-hacking code grenade, effect = inverting input and distorting vision like the current EMP, same effect on shields as the EMP but in normal grenade radius and like a grenade it doesn't ignore walls but like an EMP it explodes on surface contact
-silent EMP which doesn't cause explosives to detonate, which has no effect on infantry shields but disabled explosives for several seconds and allows infiltrators to hack them while they are disabled, turning sides they work for / against -> same area covered as current EMP and ignores walls but you'll still have to search and hack stuff - or use those to pass through somewhere
Something like that is what I'd prefer. More variety in interesting gameplay. If it's shitty or unfair we can still remove it later anyway.

EMP's ignore walls in real life. When I lived in Norfolk VA, an explosion at a power relay station caused an EMP that legit fried cell phones for a block or two and even fucked up nearby cars by frying the cpu's in them.
arguably, since walls and shit are made of nanites, which are in turn held together by nanite glue, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to say that the base walls act as faraday shields.
