What's Aldia's lore? And the Emerald Herald? And the Ancient Dragon?
>choose black guy as starting race

Handsome mode engaged.
I'm going to fight Targray for his pants.
I've never fought him before. Wish me luck.
>farming for titanite chunks

Thank you RNG
Is there a Souls edit of this image?
There's an edit with the forest cats as well.
Is it ever explained story-wise why your character is the only one who can't permanently die?
Or how enemies respawn?
>Is it ever explained story-wise why your character is the only one who can't permanently die?
Your character can if he or she goes fully hollow. Going hollow involves completely giving up, so your character goes hollow when you give up and don't finish a playthrough.
Also it's a fucking video game.
Rate my Quality build:
It can either use a heavy loadout with Havel's ring, or go with 56 poise and have a free ring slot with 6.5 weight for equipment.
Watch your item burden. Some Anons might recommend you play offline and kill yourself in the Nexus to control the world tendency, but I don't think it's necessary on your first playthrough.
>Summon Vengarl or whatever for the Throne Watcher/Defender fight
>Summon Hugo too
>Vengarl just fucking sits there 70% of the time
Why would you let us summon him for help, if he's program to not be helpful?
>watch your item burden
This, a thousand times this. If you examine an item and you don't have enough room to carry it it will drop on the ground and thus disappear when the area is reloaded. Drop off everything you won't need with Thomas after every level, and if you forget just give up on the level you're on and turn back to do it. (or alternatively complete the level without picking up loot and come back for a loot run later)
Aldia turned into a tree or some shit after looking at giants that turn into trees and incidentally the only other option between light and dark that he's blabbering on about is the bigass grey nothing with a bunch of trees and shitty dragons like the ancient one he allegedly made from a giant which is also a tree and now a dragon
For the respawning stuff, I don't think it's ever explained. I always thought of it as being the weird way that time flows in the games. Ya know how the game has said that the signs and messages are from other timelines of chosen undead that have "come close and intersected" with yours or some shit? I always figured that sitting at a bonfire or dying would reset or alter your timeline somehow. Thus why NPCs would stay where they are until you leave the zone (they left of their own accord since they had time) or you sit at a bonfire (your timeline gets altered somehow and they leave because lultimetravel)
In december the 4cc (4 chan cup) had a /vg/ league (its a 4chan football/soccer thing thats going on atm) and last time /dsg/ participated there was no manager so the team played on autopilot, I saw a postr about the team in the last thread but couldnt repply becouse I was travelling.
I was curious if we registered yet to participate this december and if there was a manager
Just because you're too stupid to understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist or is bad.
>UMMMM why does ENEMY RESPAWN??? Whats THE LORE??:OO
>Why CAN YOU NOT DIE?? WAS IT VELKA?!!!!! :///
Something else will come up, it's guaranteed, these kind of "discussions" wouldn't come up at all if everyone involved wasn't a complete fucking moron
including me when I end up getting sucked in like right now.
>if everyone involved wasn't a complete fucking moron
But it's mostly just you, so if you left everything would be alright.
>tfw this is the same thing your parents tell you when you come home
You should've listened to them.
>What's Aldia's lore?
Aldia doesn't have any interesting lore. It's just a dumb boss From decided to put in the game so people wouldn't complain about lack of content in the new version. For all intents, Nashandra still is the bigger bad of the game and the best villain in the series.
Aldia is Vendrick's brother. He was doing mad science. Probably helping Vendrick with his whole "peering into the essence of the soul" thing. At some point they had a disagreement and Aldia was exiled to his mansion to keep doing mad science. At some point he was fucking around with the corpses of giants and dragons and somehow infused a dragon with a giant's soul, creating some awful demigod which became a central figure in the dragon cult. Maybe this was his way of trying to attain the Giant's Kinship? He also brought dragons back from extinction like John Hammond. Up until SOTFS, a lot of people thought Aldia IS the Ancient Dragon, that fusing his own soul with a giant's soul and shoving it in a dead dragon was his way of achieving immortality, but SOTFS rules that out because he shows up and talks to you as a weird treeman thing. Now he's all about trying to break the cycle of ages of fire/darkness. If you follow his advice and leave the Throne of Want after defeating Nashandra, something happens, maybe.
Emerald Herald is a huge fucking mystery. If you wangle the camera behind her hair you can see she has a glowing purple magic eye. I think she was artificially created Aldia to be some sort of half-dragon hybrid. If you consider the intro movie to be canon, she might be the younger version of the old hag that sends you to Drangleic in the first place. Or maybe she's another Child of Dark (along with Nashandra, Elana, Alsanna and Nadalia) and spends the whole game tricking you into collecting shitloads of souls because she's trying to recreate the Dark Soul. I don't know.
I played, beat and got tired of Dark Souls II before the DLC even came out. Should I fork over whatever ransom they're asking for SotFS edition or can I get by on my own?
I heard they split multiplayer, how dead is the original version?
fuck off, we just had pc faggots ruin the thread with their shitposts, we dont need a "fightclub" aka pc circlejerks with cheating shitters spamming screencaps of their ugly characters acting like this is their personal instant messenger client
SotFS is definitely more active than Vanilla, although Vanilla gets a lot of traffic, even on 360.
You should be fine with Vanilla, although I'm guessing the players who take Souls "seriously" have all moved on to SotFS
The original is utterly dead. Sofs is still pretty active but not exceptionally so. Last time I was on in sofs I couldn't get invaders off my dick, and I was just cycling through characters to check what SM they were.
If you owned the original, upgrading to sofs is slightly discounted. In the end, you pay about as much as the dlc pack would cost but get the sofs changes too. The DLCs are worthwhile if you enjoyed DaS2. They're a unilateral improvement over the base game with much better overall level design and great bosses.
Bear in mind that saves don't transfer over, so if you buy sofs you'll have to actually play through the game again to access each of the dlc areas. The actual sofs changes are nice but fairly minor on their own and don't really make a playthrough feel fresh if you're already bored of the base game.
what if instead of dark and edgy and demons we get
>Cryomancy probably won't be a thing in DaS3.
We already have confirmed that there are ice-based enemies, ice-based bosses, ice-based lore, an ice-based area that's a major part of the world and an ice-based status effect applied both from ice-based weapons and ice-based ranged attacks.
Ice magic is a shoe-in at this point. And seeing as how they're playing up the whole fire/ice duality, you can bet cryomancy will be a thing.
RIP character save
RIP 4 hours of my life
Fuck this fucking Keep and fuck this fucking game. I was two-shotting the Alonne knights but after I died a couple times, they all had to take three hits to kill. It was hard enough having hollow HP. This is some fucking masochistic backwards ass artificial adaptive difficulty bullshit. I hope everyone who plays these games gets fucking castrated with a spoon as they watch their mother and sister get raped by niggers.
Anyone else notice the Pursuer's Helmet looks pretty similar to that of one of the protagonists?
Grab a Mace and the Ring of Binding and a shield with 100% physical blocking. As long as you go at it cautiously, you will now have everything you need to beat that area and the vast majority of the game.
Anyone else notice that your character moves significantly slower when you're around the Pursuer?
From decides to include the Legendary Giant as a boss in DS3
How would you react?
Then you aren't really in much of a position to be whining about it if you chose, of your own volition, to do it 30 fucking times. Stop triggering me
if pc ucks actually fought the real giant/havel tryhard family on console, how hard and fast would they get their shit kicked in
no cheating like a little faggot, just a one on one match
>fight the pursuer again after using a bonfire ascetic
>only know do I figure out that rolling towards him and to the left almost always dodges whatever he's doing
>borrowed the game yesterday from a friend
>tfw that's exactly me except I'm using a longsword
Also who's considered the hardest boss in ds2? Most trouble I've had so far was with the
Dragonriderand Ruin Sentinels. First one because I was just being a retard and at one point it just clicked and killed him without even taking damage but I literally have no clue how I managed to beat the Sentinels.
Damn, I just got 30 Dragon Scales in less than 2 hours on the Iron Keep Bridge
>There are people that unironically think that strike damage isn't GOAT in DS2
Playing Dark Souls on the PC with a PS3 gamepad, but the cable broke and I got a new one. Thing is, it's not working anymore. Nothing's picking up on Better DS3 and the device isn't registering at all.
I switched from an Energizer charging cable (which worked, for some reason) to an Insignia brand one. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong and how a different brand of charging cable could cause it to fail.
I had the exact same problem as you once; I tried all sorts of stuff to fix it but ended up permanently borking one of my front usb drives (and causing my mouse to not work with USB 2.0 slots).
Honestly, you'd do better to get an xbox controller.
Since you were going Lightning infusion I'm guessing you have a decent amount of Faith? If so, you'd be better off with the Defenders Greatsword. Lightning infusion + Buff is delicious.
It does about as much damage as any other greatsword, but with the benefit of needing fewer stats for similar damage. Great raw or elemental.
Its main advantage is having an assload of reach, more than most other GS.
A few questions: Are hex builds good? Should a hex build favor int > fa or fa > int? And which DLC should I do first? DS2.
>tfw helped out some fag with guardian dragon
>queer adds me on PSN
>language: portuguese (brazil)
god damn huehue's.
>in a dark souls game
For scaling purposes, level int and faith together. It scales from the lower between the 2.
For spell requirements; high int gets some utility spells like twisted barricade and also gets dark greatsword, while high faith gets a tonne of neat toys like profound still, promised walk of peace, and climax.
You can do the DLCs in any order.
In terms of difficulty: Iron > Ivory > Sunken
In terms of length: Ivory > Iron > Sunken.
Sunken is more or less a puzzle and exploration sort of level. Very zelda-ish. Bring a bow and lots of arrows. Iron is a series of encounters with strong enemies, status effects and monster buffs in tight, small spaces and Ivory is a lengthy, resource-taxing gauntlet
Can someone spoonfeed me info about using cheat engine to change say firebombs into soul of gwyn?
I can isolate the address for firebombs and replicate 99 of them, I just don't know how to change them into something else.
Foe's Ring is so dank. I hope they bring it back in DaS3.
I don't think you can actually eat yourself to that kind of weight. It's usually the result of some serious thyroid dysfunction, mixed with a healthy dosage of other hormonal issues and bad genetics. People predisposed to it need medication to prevent themselves from inflating like balloons like that. Their body chemistry is so fucked that if they don't eat enough to put on weight, they get shit like acute muscle atrophy and ketoacidosis.
I doubt it'll come back considering that Miyazaki seems to be doing everything he can to gimp invasionfags. He even made BB's analog to the seed of giants better, and a similar item will probably return in an even stronger form.
So I accidentally put one too many points into strength for the build I wanted and it's triggering my autism knowing I'm not completely optimized. Is there some kind of save editor or something I can use to put that point into DEX where it belongs? Dark Souls 1 on steam.
Rotating that quickly desyncs their movement for a moment so you can't see their sprinting animation while they're spinning.
The intention for this is to try and surprise you with a running attack from the spot.
Just parry their predictable shit.
You're invading an Australian.
I'm excited to go into a new souls game completely blind with no clue where to go and no guides to save me.
Go download Technojackers DaS table and edit your stats accordingly.
Adjust your SL to suit the changes, otherwise watchdog will flag you for mis-aligned stats.
Let's hope the host makes it to the actual fight this time.
Why do I keep hearing the fucking contact noise and my opponent takes no damage? Why do they swing and hit me even though I appear out of range?
>leave my sign
>some fag standing there all buffed up
>quickly do my buff
>doesn't even bow
>doesn't even wave
>runs at me in the middle of my buff and attacks for 3/4 of my health
>You will never have a tea party with Gwyndolin, Darkmoon Knightess, Giant Blacksmith, and Solaire
Continue being nice the way you are, it's just some tryhard who doesn't actuaIIy enjoy the game but rather takes out their frustration out with pixeIs after getting their ass kicked in reaI Iife.
You're a bro enjoying his game and being courteous (probabIy 99% of personaI interactions reaIIy).
Faggots Iike that have become rare personaIIy but it's aIways the same buiId with some guy trying to get quick Iightning spears in.
>tfw they're Ieft wide open when they try this
Courteous bros have pretty much taken over though bowing before and after a fight. lt's pretty cooI. Don't worry man, keep enjoying the game!
I'll start with some background. I first got this game in the winter of 2010, based on curiosity. I remember how overwhelming it was, making my way through my first souls game. 1-1 went reasonably well, but then I got to 1-2. I can't even count how many deaths I had on the way to the boss fog-scorched by the dragon, mangled by the dogs in the underpassage, torn open by the blue eyed knights and their companions. I eventually reached the boss door, and my jaw dropped. How could I beat this guy, he's huge! I struggled here-dying over and over again to him, or on the way to him. I was about ready to give up.
Then, on one of my runbacks, I happened to see a blue sign on the ground. In comes this nearly naked dude with a massive sword. I'm thinking-oh great, this guy is surely trolling, but we'll give the boss a shot anyway. So we go in, and he takes off, right at the tower knight! And he knocked him down and out in a hurry. I had played pretty cautiously up to this point, timidly against bosses. Seeing him play and taking out that boss was the moment I became determined to beat the game. And a couple months after dark souls came out, I had succeeded.
So I return to the nexus this week. I haven't played a ton yet, just through a couple levels. But it's crazy how many summon signs I've seen, with the game being out six years now. Maybe this time I'll be able to help out a new player with the tower knight :)
At any rate, hope you're all enjoying the return as much as I am. Umbasa!
>I feel betrayed since all I've done today is wave to people, then buff and give them time to buff if they want. I get summoned once and this shit.
This is the consequence of trying to have honorable duels. And if you're wanting to roleplay that you just need to accept it. Rather than invading you are allowing yourself to be summoned, which means opening yourself up to possible unfair treatment in exchange for offering your opponent fair treatment. You'll get a lot of complaints about "honorfags" around here, but ultimately the issue isn't people wanting to play that way... it's that people want to play that way and expect others to conform to their self-imposed rules.
>they die before you even get to them
DaS2 babbs cant handle the True Souls aka Demon's Souls
>there are people here who never experienced the hell that was dark souls release un-targetable fog ring, twop and wog spam, complete with a havel flipping set
>there are people here who never experienced pre-patched Lost Izalith and Stone Greatsword swapcast glitches
Yeah I never understood this, why the fuck don't they have upperbodies? Are they supposed to represent the undead dragons you find that only have the upper halves?
But then that begs the question, why? Did someone cut them in half and just leave them there?
Was this ever explained in the lore?
>pc-ucks attacking demon's souls even though they literally only played dark souls 2, the worst souls game
its just like bloodborne, pc-ucks are super jealous they'll never ever get to play it so they shitpost instead
still not getting any reasons behind why it's generic, why don't you give me something with almost similar level and enemy design instead of subjective words like dull and uninspired?
Observations of some mechanical issues I noticed during the DaS3 network test. I'm gonna jot them down here because, despite being an obvious alpha build, from is notorious for not fixing blatant problems and not learning from past mistakes
>False parries are back, falseparry window is massive
>Parries timing is extremely forgiving; DaS2 buckler parry but easier. Parrying UGS and spear R1s on reaction is trivial.
>axe moveset's tracking and hitbox is completely broken. Often just phases through your target, hitbox extends behind you for some reason.
>Kick is not an instant guardbreak. It works just like the DaS1 kick except it's slower and takes slightly more stamina to guard. If they don't rebalance the amount of stamina it eats, it'll become completely trivial once people can END gouge.
>most weaponarts, R2s and jumping attacks that were in the net test could be rollstabbed, as well as some running attacks.
>guardstun is nearly nonexistant, most slow attacks can easily be punished on guard
>estus chugging completely unpreventable and usually unpunishable. Currently, every fight degrades into an endurance match where everyone chugs for free until someone runs out of chugs and loses.
>hosts are completely invincible and uninterruptible while opening doors (which probably also means switches and whatnot too)
>hosts can still summon an infinite number of white phantoms with no cooldown while repelling an invader
Currently, invaders can chug estus but we all know that won't be around in the final game.
If they don't manage to fix most of these, DaS3 will end up being a step back from the previous games.
this always happens
>pc-ucks get btfo hard
>never bother to actually provide a intelligent response
>chimps out and continues to shitposts
get the fuck out of my thread
>GET OUT OF MY THREAD
>thinking anyone has ever done this EVER
ur the one who can't stop shitting
>estus chugging completely unpreventable and usually unpunishable.
>Currently, invaders can chug estus but we all know that won't be around in the final game.
Sometimes I have the feel Miyazaki doesn't know what the fuck he is doing.
for slow weapons like UGSs which are easy to parry on visual cues alone it is
in das1 it didn't matter much because you could always deadangle with them and in das2 the 2hR1 is unparryable
>Caring about PvP in Souls at all, let alone to this degree
If you take out the forest covenant and the darkwraith covenant, the only covenant left is darkmoon.
The big rat? Stay near the hind legs, I think the right one has no moves.
If you mean the one with heaps of rats, use a weapon like an axe and stay at the opposite end of the entry, run to the entry side when you need to heal. Then just hit and run the hairy rat a few times.
>tfw playing on console
Is there even a place to farm them?
Didn't get much action out of the Darkmoon, maybe 3-4 invasions the entire week
That's what I'm gonna try, how's the Gravelord Sword?
I always figured one guy or a small group was working on the area, then got pulled for something else. They thought it would be funny to leave a bunch of dead dragon asses around and when crunch time came either no one actually double checked the area or they just said "fuck it, it'll work".
Yes. The meta would devolve into being passive and waiting for the other person to attack, which they won't do as long as they know what they're doing.
This was the problem with the monscim era. Instant parry frames made everything reaction-parryable with near perfect success rate. The meta devolved into parry fishing and backstab fishing until one player got bored and started attacking, allowing them to lose.
>Start invading Duke's Archives earlier
>Mad dash for the jail room
>Turn on the alarm
>People STILL get pissed about it this many years later
It's still risky if you can reaction parry. People aren't perfect.
Players should have a fair chance to parry every attack. Riposte attacks should be able to be dodged or gotten out of as well.
When invader estus is gone and we're back to square one of only having miracles for healing during invasions, it won't be fun.
Ganks remain shitty because stunlock between separate players is unprorated. You only need to be caught once by one players' attack to get trapped in a stunlock between 2 players that lasts until your hp is gone. Except now ganks are 4v1. If you ever manage to actually down one of the host's phantoms through all of his healing and ally backup, the host can just immediately summon him back into his world and make it a 4v1 again.
Half a thousand hours spent in ds2 and I'm fucking done with this durability bullshit. I can't roleplay with a single weapon for long since I like not using bonfires.
A'ight, dsg, tell me, would it be justified to start using CE to make weapon durability infinite?
It's pve-only btw, I don't give a fuck about pvp at all.
Buying a stack of repair powder wouldn't be a problem if the developers wouldn't be utterly retarded to place the vendor with infinite amount halfway through the game. What the fuck? You can buy it in ds1 in the beginning and you barely even need it, if at all.
The problem, you see, is because I'm not just roleplaying shit, I'm going with permadeath no-bonfires playthroughs. Don't ask why, I just like torture.
Eh? I thought sotfs had durability sort of fixed, but whatever. And BKR really isn't enough when you're using only one weapon. Up until drangleic you can get fuckall of the powder, if I'm not mistaken it's 5 pieces of it, precisely. Maybe 6, but my mind is hazy as of now.
>into sort of a gimmicky roguelike
Wha? What could you possibly even see as being similar to a roguelike? I'm not even sure which way of playing you're claiming is like a roguelike, and neither of them bears enough similarity to make an assumption.
>Let it be just my personal autistic perception, ok?
No, what you're describing is an ironman challenge. It is not remotely similar to a roguelike and the grognard in me won't let your misuse of terms go unchallenged.
I accept your reasoning, though, for it has given me the true understanding of the term.
No, I'm serious. Thank you.
>I delete the character as soon as he dies.
Then what's the problem with sitting at bonfires?
Why put all these arbitrary restrictions on yourself and then complain about the results?
But honestly I think I might be unironically retarded.
If you deplete your stamina completely no matter what you won't be able to run until your stamina is supposedly recovered. As in you might roll and disrupt the recovery by doing so, but you'll still be able to sprint again even if it hasn't fully recovered.
A normal person:
>Attempt something like jumping to a shortcut from one of the bridges in the catacombs
>Accept failure and move on
>WOW FUCKING GAME I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS WOW I TOTALLY DID EVERYTHING RIGHT WOW!
If you deplete your stamina you have to either let it recharge or roll twice before you can run again.
I'm a little confused on damage for infusion in DS2.
I'm using an estoc, battle axe, and black knight greatsword. If an item doesnt have an existing element, would I get more damage from a quality build robflynn?
I see the damage is split, but what drawback does that have. It's still damage, right?
rob= ring of blades, +50 physical damage
flynn= flynn's ring, +50 physical damage if you have low equip load (the stat)
use both of them on a fast weapon like a rapier and bosses get raped
>doing a pyromancer themed playthrough
>want to make a chaos weapon
>go to vamos
>bonewheel skeletons roll against him, slowly chipping away his health
>cant kill them in time
>i die and lose a ton of souls/humanity
>realise 30 seconds later i could have reloaded to reset the enemies.
>no way of getting chaos until next ng+
that image makes me think of this guy every fucking time I see it
a few minutes on google told me it was
>Seems like after update of Dark Souls on Steam and changing to non-beta server, some features of Technojacker table stopped working. Save slot, last bonfire location and all flag unlocks for example. Have anyone found solution for that?
someone fixed it and released an update though that does work
it's not in the pastebin though
>mfw Ivory King
>me + 3 sunbros + 4 friendly knight npcs vs. 8 enemy knights + Ivory King
It did NOT feel a bit like Dark Souls but I had fun nonetheless. Is this what they meant when they said "good game, bad souls game"?
>FUCKING HATE HOW UNRESPONSIVE DS2 IS
D S 2 is a fucking SIoppy chink mess.
>You need a C E fix to make it so you sprint/jump lMMEDlATELY when the button is pressed
>You need a C E fix to keep souI memory from going up WlTHOUT an Agape Ring (faggot chinks shouId've just made an on/off for souIs but they're too much of a group of faggots to do so)
>You need a C E fix to set your memory and tiers because there's no souI sucking in this game
>You need to mess with your back ups on U S B if you don't use C E
lt's the sIoppiest chink mess of a game in reIease history.
>Find a bigger fucking prog. disaster than this shit fucking gane
Had to spend nearIy 2 hours just setting this faggot game up properIy fixing chink Iazyness.
Every damn male character I make in DS2 has a fucking white face. The rest of the body is a different tone, but I can not make the face look like i have paint on.
Which toggle fixes this???
So I registered us as a team for the Videogame General League so /dsg/ can play but I need some positive responses to be able to have us participate.
Would anyone be willing to help me put together a team/root for us in december?
It's the permadeath guy.
I forgot to mention that I noticed something weird when I began ironmanning sotfs.
The thing is, it seems that the item find value is tied to this somehow. I'm getting shittons of drops from every enemy, which never happened when I was playing normally. It's just NG every time and I never have any +itemfind items on me. Could the dropchances be increasing due to not dying for prolonged periods of time/killing lots of enemies without resting?
I mean I'm clearly not just being lucky with all kinds of drops every time I start a new character, there's gotta be something.
Not him, but I'm a retard that's aware of his own retardness. Does that make me a double retard or something?
It casts insanely fast in DaS2 which means a faith caster who isn't retarded can basically keep you constantly staggered everytime you attempt anything on him and then they punish you
Haven't played Scholar for months, or been to /dsg/ in almost as long.
Got the itch to playthrough again, but it seems i've been bunned.
What happened to the softban script for christian edition? does anyone have a link for it?
Hey guys, I'm confused about infusing... do I upgrade before or after I infuse?
Also, just to confirm, infusing a chime with lightning buffs faith damage at cost to dark damage, right?
>Also, just to confirm, infusing a chime with lightning buffs faith damage at cost to dark damage, right?
you can infuse whenever, and change infusions easily
once infused it continues to upgrade as normal
>"FIRE" and the wubs still in the song
It's shit. Take both of them out, and it's alright.
Used to be fairly uncommon, but I'm finding hackers in my Iron Keep Bridge FCs almost constantly. I'd say about 1 out of every 5 participants is actually a hacker, and every 1 out of those remaining 4 are FC spoilers.
FCs down with the thread haven't had any issues from what I've been in, and I've been in quite a few. Of course, we'd expect that.
Random invasions? I've had probably a dozen invasions outside of the ICB mentioned before and I've yet to get a single hacker.
I think I want to try out a Dark build. Problem is I only ever use str/dex builds normally and I'm not really sure what to do - it seems like I'll be spreading points really thing between attunement, int, faith and whatever str/dex I need for weapons.
Can I get a little help? Any advice for weapons, both for standard use and for catalysts/chimes? Would I be better off just going with Sorceries, Miracles or Pyromancies? I really don't know.
>tfw you can neither go full Chinese Monk nor Spartan nor Dragoon on people because there are no polearms and the spears and lances have terrible movesets
>tfw DaS3 won't introduce any new weapon classes or fix the fuck awful movesets
dingy top, lion warrior cuffs/helm, black leather boots.
I use a scimitar (infused with lightning of course), and a small cleric shield.
Holy monk dawg, though I need to find a replacement for the pants. But they match well enough.
30/30 INT/FTH ought to be plenty for magic, I'd recommend quality or DEX with weapons that have innate elements. Also, buff as often as possible. Do not bother with the resonant spells, they've been nerfed to obsolescence.
>there are no polearms
Haven't used it much in DkS2, but some of the halberds had great movesets in DeS and DkS.
I started to try it out in DkS2 since it's my favorite weapon class but the durability just tended to go down too quickly because of hitting walls and such.
returning to dark souls 1 after not having played in years, im looking for an old build. it was a super tryhard poise spam build that wasnt very popular but was posted around these generals. i THINK it was something like pic related but im unsure because its been so long. the general idea was to DMB and spam r1 and facetank/poise almost everything. GMB for sorcery shenanigans. demon's spear in offhand for poking.
anyone here happen to know what im talking about? again, havent played dark souls 1 in years.
spartans would use their spears only for turtling. for 1 on 1 they used short swords, easily maneuverable when in tight situations. but you can't really be a spartan warrior, because the strength of the spartan army was its unbreakable phalanx.
you need the giant's kinship. you need to
go to the memories of the fallen giants and retrieve their souls (optional). the one you HAVE to go to is the one you access by crossing the bridge you first see when you go down the ladder from where you encounter melentia
