Is this game losing players because it doesn't actually have a whole lot of content outside of running the maps over and over again on harder difficulties or is it more related to Skinner box loot obsession driving people mad?
It's an l4d game without mod tools and that can only go so far as a game
it will also gain a huge influx of players in a month or so when the winter sale starts because from what i've gathered from anecdotal evidence is that a lot of people are interested but

These threads have slowed down quite a bit. Do you guys think we should begin the transformation into Warhammer General after this?
Game can't die until I've gotten my warrior priest of Sigmar.
>Imagine cornering a single clanrat, they do that terrified animation where they press up against the wall and look for an escape route
FUCK NO STOP
I won't go down this path again if we're doing warhammer general I won't sully it with smut
Could be fun. Hammers as the main set, whenever they use a potion or healing item everyone else gets part of the bonus? (Sigmarites aren't quite Shayla-tier healers but they do have a heal and some buff-blessings, the easiest way I can think of displaying that would be sharing the benefits of buff potions and heals)
I feel confident that they'll have ample opportunity to put in a versus mode.
I guess this is the right place to ask. Playing Vermintide's been making me want to replay Mark of Chaos, but for some reason I can't open the game after installing it off the disk.
Anyone had this problem by any chance, or know a way to fix this?
I really wish there was more to the classes in this game
like different stats, getting stats on level (IE maybe elf gets + headshot damage % per level, dorf gets increased stamina or damage reduction or something). think KF2
also perks and etc so you can do different builds. I just want more depth and choices, as is all we got is our choice of weapons/trinkets
But anon, the whole catering to specific audience thing only works when the game is actually good, as that audience knows what they want. This game is good at it's core, but it's just got too much wank to be replayable right now
Is there a level that's relatively fast and quick to farm like BP was, but people will actually be good at? I don't care if I have to actually try or not, I just want loot rolls.
It only made me want to play total war.
>That warhammer mod
Since they have good relationships with the empire at times I feel an Ogre would fit better, other than the actual FITTING part since he couldn't get through the doors in some places.
Well, the battle tactics are retardedly basic. The storyline is annoyingly presented in the sense that you have to switch between campaigns for characters/factions you might absolutely hate for no real reason.
The graphics are decent. It is warhammer.
Also, fuck dark elves and fuck their shitty missions.
that cheat engine shit from the last thread seems pretty sketchy...
what do you think the odds are of getting banned for using it? i want to earn gear the right way... but my curiosity is getting the best of me
I got some nice hats.
If i get banned/gear wiped..shit happens
I never figured out how the fuck cheat engine works and gave up, and as a reward the game gave me the orange rapier I've been hunting 50+ hours for. Maybe that's enough, I don't know.
And like Chaos true followers of Sigmar like pic related will drive them away.
It's alright, but it's early access so it's still very rough around the edges.
30 hours into it so far, I really enjoy it.
Anyone wanna help me clear out some hard mode missions?
It's pretty hard to do with pugs.
feel free to add me if any of you wanna do some hard mode.
>spamming fire like a mad man
>can't tell if my heal procs because everything is bright yellow anyway
This odd "exploit" of a game edit make black powder trivial
This game runs primarily on lua. This also means all weapon/item info is stored in lua. Modify the lua and you can do fun stuff. Like turning firebombs into infinite barrels, altering dice, procs, and a lot of other stuff odd stuff.
The lua can also be edited to make almost all rats drop items like grims, tomes, dice, health, etc. Although on some of the longer levels you do risk a "too many items" crash. My favorite pointless edit was the enemy speed and scale. Super fast rat sized enemies was entertaining.
Only partly true. I am using CE to inject the lua but a DLL would work just as well if i wasnt so lazy.
It's like half and half. I've seen more than a few threads go into Warhammer General territory, so I think it's just good to go with the flow seeing as it's all still Warhammer.
I like how if you scale down a rat, it pops to full size on death.
>Trade in a fair amount of my blues
Seems purty good. I'd trade Heroic for Regrowth/Bloodlust though.
If i want it to. :P making then run fast is entertaining.
i've been fucking around with the cheat engine stuff and got the health/ammo to work, but none of the barrels or tomes or grimoires have worked for me. what's the trick to it, other than not being a retard like me?
Should be no problem, knowing mechanics when to block push generally not taking damage and working together is more important than gear in hard.
Further up gear will help though.
lua is great for apps and smaller programs
it's absolutely garbage for games
but finding someone who can worth with lua for bottom of the barrel prices is easier than anything else and a more feasible task for companies with a small budget
plus fatshark uses stingray which has this as a tag line
> AN EASY-TO-USE AUTHORING ENVIRONMENT THAT IS ACCESSIBLE TO NOVICES AND NON-PROGRAMMERS. LUA SCRIPTING PROVIDES AN EASIER WAY TO MAKE EVERYDAY DEVELOPMENTAL CHANGES TO GAMES IN AN INDUSTRY-STANDARD SCRIPTING
>WH with blue pistols, regrowth and attack speed buff
Well with lua you don't have to recompile every time you want to make a change when testing something, so that ends up saving days of development time on top of what the other anon says
This comes at the price of having high memory overhead though
>watch elf trying to fight stormvermin
>spams left click
>not charge attack
>watch wh fight storm vermin
>no charge attack
>these are level 50+ players on nightmare
Didn't you guys invent anti venom in some capacity?
This game has a severe case of needs more everything
at least one
also at least one more, maybe even an endless
>Love this game
>All my friends pick it up
>They play it 4 days
>One of them starts complaining about he wants to play SMITE and Dota
>Theyve all now migrated to that shit
>No one to play Vermintide with
>Game already dying
Someone fucking kill me
in a few months the playerbase will be down to a few dedicated thousand who actually know how to play the game and we'll have hit a nice sweet spot of decent activity and people who know what the fuck they're doing like Killing Floor 2 has.
>Playing shield-wall soldier on nightmare
>Working out great because of a WH rapier stunning everything and BW destroying everything else
>Except for our Elf who keeps running past me to fight the mobs in the open and dying
>The reason being? "They are taking all the kills and I want some too"
>He kept using all of his fucking bow ammo quickfiring at regular rats fucking miles away
>We make it through the mission and he calls me shit for having very few kills
Why do these people exist?
Could you even get banned in this game? Like what if you play only alone? Why would it be different then cheating in GTA?.
Like if you play with the same four people. Should it matter? You literally only effect your own fun.
Wouldn't that just make me want to go fullscale cheat engine? Will they just keep wiping it? Or not let me play my game how I want?
I don't even exploit or cheat. I just think in no competitive games it shouldn't matter.
You could certainly get banned. But I doubt it.
When it comes to cheating people have a lot of different views on it. Sane people only care if it directly involves them such as when you are playing with someone who is actively hacking or playing against someone who is. Crazy people however despise people who cheat or hack in entirely single-player games or in a way that the think devalues what they had to do for the same gear. In a multiplayer game exploiting or hacking for better gear really only matters if it is something that would be impossible for you to have otherwise.
Dark Souls 1 was a great example of this. You had mules running around with full Havels in the undead burg. However while they cheated to get it they were not doing anything that was impossible. You could absolutely be SL 10 and beat the game just to run back to the burg and fuck everyone with your great gear. It's impossible to tell the difference unless they were chugging divine blessings. Even then if they had 99 blessings though that was still technically possible within the game.
So you have this game where all the rolls are random along with the traits. If you see someone who is rank 15 with all oranges and a bunch of hats he might be a hacker but it's still entirely possible he got those items by sheer luck. It really shouldn't matter unless they are actively cheating in the game you are playing with them. Because you can't know whether they got those items through cheating or not and if it was through cheating there is nothing to say they couldn't have gotten them without it.

>standing still shooting at skaven in the distance
>soldier runs in front of me while im shooting

Maybe then people will actually start vote kicking people under level 20 who try to join anything above normal. Seriously, at least finish the game on normal before you think about wasting peoples time on harder difficulties.
That was his name? I can't remember him ever using it in what little I've read.
Still, I thought they were at least Warcraft of LotR sized. They're so fucking tiny looking, maybe it;s because I was playing soldier he just seemed smaller?
DIfferent Gotrek. Starbreaker was the High King during the War of the Beard. You're thinking of Gotrek Gurnisson, the Slayer.
Male dwarfs go from 4'4" to 5'2" based on WFRP, which is canon until something says otherwise. There's a height comparison chart for the races, which I will try to find.
You don't need to be 20+ to do hard. Thats easily 10+, when you have a grasp of the game mechanics and got some greens under your belt. I wouldn't recommend nightmare for a while after that though.
>doing wizards tower
>me, 2 other, all 50+
>guy joins, level 3, also an elf so I'm already condemning him
>starts the match by shooting me in the back
I don't understand people
Sure, you CAN do it, but you'll still be a burden and have a higher chance of fucking up at some critical moment. Is level 10 even enough xp to have cleared all the levels? Do you really want someone in your lobby that has never even cleared the level before?
You WILL get banned if you modify the lua files. They do unannounced lua checks through the dll server imap, and if you are using a modified lua file then they will catch you.
I don't know why but to me she has the typical face of an ugly woman with gigantic magnificent large lactators.
They should fix this next patch. Or support Steamworkshop and give us mods to fix it.

Haven't worked that hard for so little gain in a long while.
I mean really. Or at least tell me, is there no chance at all of being banned? I want to use the CE table but I'm suspicious. I have so much hard earned and exploited stuff to fail now.
Does your luck fucking suck after level 30?
Because EVERY fucking roll I had on hard with max tom/grim get's me zero dice.
I'm getting nothing but whites and green. This is fucking hell it happened 7 FUCKING TIMES IN A ROW
>Playing with CE
>Equip WH with his repeater thinking it might be fun to spam having never tried it before.
>Set ammo in clip to 9999
>Alt fire into rat ogre unprepared for the consequences
>9999 rounds of rape and warp fuckery launches the rat ogre 30 feet into the air
>Game crashes from trying to generate 9999 bullet impact textures seconds later.
Can you get any trait with any weapon? I know I got a bow with Zoom+ before, which does literally nothing, so could i get a repeater with clip+ to make that altfire worth it?
What are the best traits for a Repeater? Probably headcracker, and maybe ammo up and targeteer.
I don't know. I read somewhere in CE forums that cheating ammo was A-ok but somehow grims and tomes are fuckery of the server and not client and it can get you fucked.
Maybe it was a fatshark agent in disguise.
I like them for being vikings in space, space marines can't fuck anything far as I know.
Thanks. I'm going through the novels in the link, which one has them or are recommended for newcomers besides Felix and gotek?
But not enough to know that your specific case doesn't apply to 90% of scenarios? Got it. I'm totally sure your teammates were glad to have you along, since you know everything about the game by level 10 due to being an ex L4D pro.
nice strawmen m8
I'm just saying I think with a fair deal of thought it doesn't take all that many games to git gud at positioning and such, I guess I do learn fairly fast tho and have l4d experience
>filthy elf wench, scrawling about stealing all the ammo and health and using it instantly, wasting it on normal rats a thousand miles away

>we wipe and re-do
>finally get to barrels after a challenging ogre that left us all weak
>horde comes, dwarf has barrel
>he drops it, bashes some slaves
>shoots his handgun
>the horde catches him and he dies
why are some people just so fucking stupid at melee classes
how do you not know your job and still have 30+ levels in the game
Nah, that'd mean I had good luck at some point.
>rolled 5 blues total
>played only hard and up after getting greens
In other news turbopush is the best trait. I love it.
The Von Carstein books, Murder in Marienburg, and Massacre in Marienburg.
The Nagash and Malekith books are pretty interesting in explaining why the Warhamer world is in its state now.
OP's link has the Thanquol books, which are the comedy books of Warhammer Fantasy, similar to how Cain is for 40k
What's better a green M/SH with Bloodbath or a green S/SH with extra stamina?
So just to be clear random rats are spawning around corners where you can't see them right? Because constantly I am clearing a corner and turn around to find a rat coming at me from that direction to get a cheap hit in despite there being nowhere for it to spawn in. And twice so far i've scanned an area while sort of behind a wall and by the time I completed the 360 several rats were there.
>there are people that take any damage other than friendly fire on cata
Ok, I need someone elses opinion.
Whenever I'm in a game with a bright wizards and some weightwatchers, they simply die whenever fighting more than 5 generic rats. Even on hard.
As hammer kruber, I can fight off an entire horde on my own aslong as someone is guarding my back, and even if not I stand a good chance. When a special shows up, I can shotgun/handgun it, unless I'm fighting a horde of course.
Are those people shitters? I played some bright wizard, her sword seemed to have great cleave and a decent push. Not sure about waywatcher, but I looked at her weapons and played around in the lobby some and they seemed to be pretty fit for fighting.
Basically, is it wrong of me to expect waywatchers and bright wizards to actually be able to fight? Witchhunters and dorfs usually do well enough on their own and don't get hit. Is it a class thing or is it a skill thing?
elf attracts shitters. wizard is either that tryhard that knows everything or a shitter.
elfs and wizards can hold their own just as well as anyone else (obviously not as well as a shield or 2h kruber/dorf of course). it's just that the majority of people who play those classes are generally shit, coupled with those classes not being as easy to do that sort of thing with
wizard/elf shouldn't be holding down huge hordes in melee in the first place
Partly has to do with their melee weapon, they don't have much good weapon that hit multiple rats per strike
Personal experience most WW and BW I encounter are too focus on range attacks and by the time they switch to melee when some skaven slips by and get close it's already to late and taken damage.
BW that doesn't know heat management are the fucking worst liability.
>try enemy below on cata
>die to 2 packmasters and a gutter runner spawning right at the end
>try it again
>die to 2 globadiers and ratling gunners spawning behind us as we're fighting a horde near the end
>try it again
>tank spawns with globadiers during a horde somewhere in the middle, we die
>try it again
>no noteworthy special spawns
>breeze through it
They really need to work on their special spawns. It's so random at the moment. I don't know if we deserve that, or if the other attempts were bullshit. I'm just confused why nothing fucking spawned this time around.
how the fuck does one do wells on cata? The suicide rats are insane you can't possible keep it unpoisoned.
Shouldn't their nature make them target you first and never give away their lives like that?
I know you fuckig faggot I was asking from a lore perspective
I personally don't like the strategy ones but I'm moved by the story.
Would Warsord Conquest count as a "Warhammer" game? I've played that so much with Gotrek and Felix as my sidekicks(because I dont know the relations with the rest, no one uploads a possible party).
Man I love the look of the Mother Black Inn, fortified and clearcut to deal with Beastmen sneak attacks which rely on the woods, but not fit for Skaven-sneak attacks.
Yes, but I got shitters. It's impressive just how bad people can be, even on hard. How the fuck can new players think joining other games on hard is a good idea? They just drag everyone else down.
There should be a host kick function.
>an entire game focused around killing giant rats
Its like I'm really playing some sick fuck's DnD campaign.
No, people are retarded and spam left click without charge attacking, I saw a team wipe to it once and did an experiment by not hitting them and watching, people just don't know what to do with them
>what's the weak point of any creature
>aim for that
Better shoot it center mass with your bow like he's a dindu and you're a fat american police man.
I was thinking it was something like that. I wonder why the hammer doesnt have armor pen either though, I'd figure it would be the other way around if anything.
It doesn't matter tough. You should be bash+charge stunlocking them while someone tries to get a headshot or just bash them, switch to your ranged and headshot them.
If you mean the 2h I haven't used them and I haven't seen people with them 1v1 storm so idk but I can see a person with decent lag just dodging their attacks and charge attacking them... Does the 2h charged attack stun them?
Turn on subtitles. Read the hints on the loading screen.
Do elfs have their language? Right now only the dwarf says things in dwarven.
here are those that are so overcome by their depraved lusts that they lie with the beasts of the fields. Those that lie with the goats spawn the horned Beastmen; those that lie with dogs and cats give rise to the furred Skaven; those that sell their souls to Slanesh and lie with snakes and toads give birth to Orcs; and, of course, those that lie with sheep give birth to Averlanders.
Great axe not as bad as i thought at first time. Decent tide clear as long someone covers your ars.
How can it be that there's people on the server talking shit but they aren't part of the team?
Just now a pair of faggots where talking about how good we and some where because the other 2 died and we we're pulling through.
These 2 guys where not the other 2 dead people. They didn't have (Kerillian) nor (Fuegonasus) in their names, and those people playing the elf and the sorcereres we're also speaking.
In short, there were 6 people in the chat instead of the usual 4. Can people now spectate games as if it was CSGO?
ATTENTION: There is a garden of morr type shortcut in white rat which breaks the spawns and allows ez completion with a grim. as the inventor, im not sharing, but FUCK its sweet.
In the lore, they're actually managed by packmasters. A rat ogre whose packmaster has been killed is unpredictable. Some rampage, some will stand there drooling, some will just lie down and go to sleep. This is by design, Moulder doesn't want rat ogres to have any independence.
>that one fucking faggot who walks straight into a squad of stormvermin
This is the only one I know of
almost all the online games i play often are far below that
10k is alot mate, in a month or two average for vtide will be around 2k. if you can't play a game because it doesn't have a large playerbase, stick to your assfaggots
Not that guy, but been doing it for a few days. It's actually hard to get to the bell area without going through the barrel area first. There's only one specific spot I've found that it's possible.
I'll post a video on how to do it all in like 30 minutes.
Ok, here's how to do TWR,
solo, with the grimoire, on Cata.
Once you crouch out of that final part, you're at the top of the tower. You'll have to fight between 10-30 regular vermin in total, normally there is no specials.
Walk around, destroy the chains. This doesn't end the level, but it does kill all rats, so there is nothing to worry about. They still spawn from the walls, but die instantly, so they sort of ooze out.
Drop down, being careful of fall damage, trigger the barrel event by going to the entrance of the second floor, and finish the map. Make sure to get all the chests.
On average it should take anywhere from 6-8 minutes depending on your luck.
Speaking of which,
>tfw your grenade trinket procs 4 times in a row during an ogre fight.
>can't find any game for cata enemy below or white rat
>do cata any
>level 14 elf and level 20 something soldier
>both first times
>only the dwarf has played cata before
Can't help but feel sorry for those pink naked bastards
Those fucking niggers that never use their bomb or potions. WHY? I was playing hard and everyone in my team had bombs and potions at the cart even though we almost failed.
People hold onto those things because "oh man, what if we need it later."
It's the worst kind of mentality. The game fucking THROW potions at you like crazy, I end up using most of them because no one else will.
>be witch hunter with a strength potion
>gotta save it for dat quick ogre kill
>we rek ogre within first 5minutes
>be happy cuz i thought i'll finally be able to make us of my two potion trinkets and spam them like crazy
>the team makes me pick up the grimore
>they never use their potions
>we die at the horn
So i have one trinket that gives 20 or 40% to not consume potion, don't remember for sure, is it useful? So far i replaced it with 6% speed and it does nothing.
I remember playing with someone that had the vial rack that shares the potions and the chance not to consume them, both exotic.
It was incredible, get lucky and you have sanic speed for 30 seconds the entire team just mowing through the hard parts.
>mfw people who don't understand swarm armies
Does speed affect charged attacks?
just don't bother
cata has nothing but e-peen value, and you need a healthy dose of luck to get trough it , a single special during a wave will wipe you and i guarantee that 90% of your hp loss will be rats that spawn behind you/run trough you and hit you in the back while fighting other rats
>rats that spawn behind you/run trough you and hit you in the back while fighting other rats
sounds like rats alright
Handgun > Repeater Pistol > Blunderbuss
Fireball = Conflag > Bolt > Beam
Drakefire Pistols = Handgun > Crossbow > Grudgeraker
Longbow > Hagbone > Swift > Trueflight
Pistol Brace > Crossbow > Repeater Pistol
jesus wrong on so many levels
Beam is THE choice for Nightmare and above. M1 has no friendly fire and wrecks groups. beam 100% accurate at any range for killing specials, and does huge DPS with a STR potion vs the ogre
I like longbow best personally, but trueflight spinners do wreck ogres
like it or not, it has the ability to hit specials in areas no other weapon can. highest DPS bow vs ogres, and the light attack is just as good as the longbow's
shitters are attracted to the elf because she uses bows in general. everyone wants to be legolas
Vermintide is amazing. Playing the Dwarf Ranger is great.
Grenade miss banter is fucking great
>Victor throw grenade, hits nothing
>Dorf: Y'know we shouldn't waste the explosive, we could have needed it later
>Victor: Don't lecture me Dorf!
>Dorf: Don't bloody miss then!
Is there anyway to use a cheat engine or whatever to get specific items in the game?
I highly doubt it but i'm sick of grinding on Enemy below/Horn of Magnus for a single helmet. (pic related)
The only hat I've gotten was for the elf which is the only class I have not played.
>Dorf: You see that? Cleanest kill I've ever made
>Bright Wizard: And so modestly expressed at that one too
>Dorf: The hookrat got the elf! Do we really want her back?
>Dorf: I call that, stop stealing my kills, Azmungi!
>Soldier: Perhaps you should be faster, Master Goreksson.
Them quotes in Vermintide, I like them
Not to be a moralfag or anything, but I don't really understand the point.
You won't see it, only other people will. Sort of makes hats a badge of honor so you can show off. If you cheat them, then what is the point?
At least your friends gave it a try, mine refuse to play anything but league of legends. Last time i got them all a beta key for some new game to try. They played for an hour then went back to assfaggots.
Mainly Lucky, i've done so many hours of nightmare games winning most of the time. With the dice rolls, Hats don't always appear, and to land only on THAT slot, nothing below and above is fucking hard, on top of that, it gives you a random hat out and they're more than 30 confirmed hats in the game so to get 1 hat for 1 class mixed with the shit rice roles = fucking imposible
I mainly want it because I already have some of the best weapons for my favorite class. AND i really want to get this before more classes might be added which will fuck the RNG dice roll so hard.
