>/vg/ League 5 (seriously you fucking retards why have this bullshit NOW?):
Usual /vg/ League bullshit
>tfw can't sign up the other general I want to play even though we want to play because I manage another team
Speaking if that, the council is heavily enforcing general support this time around, so PLEASE include a link (live or archive) that shows where you posted. If more than half of the council does not accept your link as the general wanting to play, we will have to deny you.
Or put you on the waitlist if we end up with less than 32 teams.
Yes. That's why I'm panicking. Last post that show question regarding this is from 8 minutes ago and now there are only 3 spots left
>tfw /4ccg/ is the only general I really browse, but still support many VGL teams because I like their games
>tfw all of them are going to crash and burn horribly because of the chucklefucks in charge
There's currently exactly one guy talking with me in my general who really wants to be in, but the rest of the general doesn't seem to care either way. Does that qualify as enough support?
Honestly, /dsg/ won't get in because I've looked through their general and there is absolutely no positive response
t. Council Member
I saw in the /@/ thread linked on the wiki that their manager was asking for someone who could port their models. I wouldn't mind doing it, but it would depend on wether or not /jp/ advances to Winter
>/4ccg/ not allowed in the VGL
Enjoy having no Aesthetics, I quit
That's just an optical illusion
She can spin both clockwise and counterclockwise.
A good way to trick your eyes into making her spin on the other direction is to cover her body with your hand or something and just concentrate on her feet and the reflection
It can look like its spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on how your brain decides to interpret it. You can make it "switch" directions even though it's the same looping image.
>/aa2g/ also in
>they still run those retarded LB-CB-RB tactics
Jesus fucking Christ that's yet another general for a game I like that's going to crash and burn.
I wish I could pull off a Durgen and get these teams in shape because god damn, this is going to be painful.
>31 teams in under 24 hours
Now to see how many pass verifications.
if he knew anything about PES or the cup when he wanted to manage he probably could've became a co-manager for a board he actually goes on instead of ruining his image from Day 1
>want to sign up general
>roster, auto-pilot tactics, music, logo, and kits (in PNG form) done
>Only one person in the general responds to VGL posts
>no logo, no link
Off to a great start.
If you sign up, there is a chance to get in and there is a chance to get rejected
If you don't sign up, you are already rejected
THANKS, FUCKING PES.
Nah, we changed the 6 month rule from being a global rule to being a different situation for each team.
/utg/ are allowed in because they are huge and have been around for a few months anyway, have established a lot of culture.
A two day old general would get rejected for no memes/culture and the risk that some chucklefuck create a dead general for the sole purpose of participating.
/utg/ don't break the rules,
Well, that wasn't fun. I'm still numb and aching from surgery, and above all tired as fuck.
Still, training for /m/ begins today, and I'll be damned if we don't maul those giant robots come Saturday.
>I'll be damned if we don't maul those giant robots come Saturday.
Fuck /m/ desu
I'd rather have /an/ go through.
I blame Konami Stadium. And no, the surprised one wasn't me.
And just to show the rest, here's the 2nd half. Thanks, PES.
Good luck, it'll be a fun game
desu I like /m/ and their cup history. I just like /an/ a whole lot more.
if only Corgi hadn't forgotten how to jump, then we could both promote ;_;
The Zoids one? Not bad at all.
I'm looking forward for a match against /an/ for tag-team cup vengeance and because from all my admittedly limited experience with it, /an/ has been a pretty chill board.
Good luck on the pitch m/an/iacs, see you all on Saturday.
THERE WILL BE BLOOD XOR OIL
VGL5 signups have hit 32 teams, so that means any other generals that want to sign up should do so under the Waiting List section of the Signups page, in case any of the generals fail verification, don't actually have interest in playing, or they fuck up their exports or something shitty like that.
Also god help us all if we hit 40 teams.
>that moment when you post a pic and don't even remember opening it
...was I going to make a /y/ joke or something?
Not me, I'm too busy to shitpost, trying to sort ou- oh god what the fuck even is this
She's obviously gay.
Probably when season 3 gets made and either /c/, /u/ or >/a/ picks her up.
>Kinmoza S2 flopped
>NNB S2 flopped
>Yuyushiki S2 never
There's only one SoL queen here. S3 soon.
oh boy, another trophy for us? I'm really glad that /mlp/ is winning even those cups in which it does not technically participate. Thanks /a/, we will surely take care of 1st place trophy as soon as you will achieve it for us :^)
This is /mlp/'s dynasty after all, every lesser teams that are winning are paying tribute to /mlp/'s greatness and every loser is a necessary sacrifice for /mlp/'s future success :^)
/mu/, /wg/ and /mlp/ are the best desu
/mu/ last Elites, four top 4 finishes, and an Elite win
/wg/ last Nuevos, a cup medal at least once every 4CC year, first team to win a Babby and an Elite
/mlp/ are basically a lesser /wg/ without the Elite accolade while it lasted
>tfw you're more likely to finish buying /m/'s subs before you finish buying their main team.
Surprisingly less /pol/ shitposting than would be expected.
just as much /gsg/ shitposting as I expected
>free kick free goals
>starting to become a thing.
Really? Taylor Swift scored the most recent, Real Human Being had one last summer against /soc/, and /mu/ had one in spring. I think that is about it in 15.
/aceg/, /cbg/, /ffg/, /ink/, /llsifg/, /mhg/, /rlg/, /utg/, /lisg/ if they play
/drg/ and /ksg/ played before but haven't in a while (/drg/ died before VGL4 and /ksg/ took a 3-league hiatus)
SeeSaw, you can't manage /lisg/. You managed /fgg/ in VGL4 and managers can't jump to a different team without a one-league break. You could manage them in VGL6 if you wanted.
You can imagine PES like rolling a d20 for each side and tactics and formations as modifiers. But what we don't know how big those modifiers can be. Are really good tactics like a +10 or just a +3 at maximum, and the same in the negative. Nobody can say how much impact tactics actually had on a match. But when you run a match multiple times with the same tactics and see results being all over the place, you can see that RNG has more of an impact than tactics.
It's just for those insane 6-0 wins that it all falls together, rolling high on the RNG, having good tactics and the other team rolling very bad.
So really, any team can beat any team. It can be very unlikely but we've seen games ending 0-1 with 18(15) - 1(1) shots before, with the GK having 12 saves.
That's nice toucan
I'm worried. Don't do anything bad to my hopes and dreams
My sides! So much this.
>the4c[our system think saying the cup name is a spam] is hosting BobRoss
Am I late?
>I have more fun actually playing PES than testing it. I think I have a mental illness.
Prepare for third Homura.
>where can I watch this
Old matches have mostly been lost due to the manlet incident.
According to http://implyingrigged.info/wiki/Videos#2012_4chan_Autumn_Babby_Cup that match in particular has been lost forever.
Just gonna say two things, firstly I just started a full-time job so I have very little free time and to be honest the free time I do have I don't particularly want to spend messing about with PES, and secondly even if I did have the time my laptop is pretty much bricked so there's no way I could do any sort of management setup
TL:DR- Ripperino me
Anyone else from /hsg/ who wants to manage can, but I really don't think there's much support, which is a shame since there was last time
Also, /vg/ management you better get your shit together and get EVERYONE, GET IN HERE a goal before he's gone
Are you looking for help setting stuff up for hsg? im getting no support from dsg whatsoever and im afraid that if i dont get any positive hype by tomorrow il just undo the sign up so another team can join.
Im not a hsg reguler but I visit it at times so if I cant manage dsg ild be willing to lend you a hand with your team
Yeah, I asked earlier and they didn't seem too enthused about it.
If you're a /hsg/ regular and you want to manage, by all means do it if the general is up for it
Yeah it's a real shame, but if no one there cares then there's no point putting the team in really
Im a regular but its by no means my homeboard, I dont actually want to manage /hsg/ since I had my hearth set on /dsg/ but im willing to help the manager of /hsg/ with his stuff if time is a problem.
Im still waiting for a bit though, maybe later today people will magically start to hype for the /dsg/ team
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
Didn't think so senpai
As someone who despises anything brony, I'd actually be okay with that
VGL needs some real villain that everyone can root against. I know there is /5n@f/, but it's not nearly as irritating and relevant now.
Not that anyone cares, but even by the extremely low standards the VGL uses to gauge interest, /civ4xg/ does not really care one way or the other about the VGL and won't be signing up.
(Unless someone else here who visits that general wants to take over the mantle.)
Now selling Baba Yetu to the highest bidder ;_;7
eh, /utg/ has still some shreds of sanity left, although future of it is not bright. Also, while /utg/ is a terrible furry fanbase ruining actually good game, /5n@f/ is a terrible furry fanbase talking about equally terrible game series aimed at 12 year olds and cringey youtube letsplayers and a goddamn disgrace to horror genre.
If his dad knew how much he (thinks he) got PES'd he wouldn't have to yell at him :^)
some idiot posted about how his dad interrupted his testing and scolded him once
it probably wasn't actually Autoscat but we meme on him for it anyway
As someone who
fucking loves anyhting involves stupid cartoon horsesI would also love to see another good villain. Having a team everyone roots against keeps the banter alive.
Why not make the VGL in a knockout cup format? This way more teams could fit and there would be less matches. Have the first round be home-away so every team manages to play at least twice, and have the newcomers play a preliminary phase among themselves so there are 32 brackets in the end.
>near-constant VGL play every weekend when there's not a cup
actually the 32 team /vgl/ league plays 65 games which includes the group stage and the knockouts and the final boss match.
a 32 team league (home and away format) would only have 63 games including the final boss match.
no, i'm talking about league format. like the prem league has 20 teams which play each other twice so 19 x 2 = 38 total matches. Team with the most points wins the league.
In the /vg/ league's case. 32 teams so 31 x 2 = 62
+ League winner vs final boss match = 63
In this scenario every team can have a match with all the teams in the league (twice) and not just the ones in the group like the previous format.
The most delicous tears would be if sci beats sp, diy loses in any way,
then sci leaves group first at 7, and cgl promote from goal diff
no talk of group rigging has mentioned cgl, and yet they still stand a chance of leaving groups on no manager and no say in the final matchday
>19 x 2 = 38 total matches.
That's only for 1 team though
The prem has 20 teams playing 19 home games each, the away matches count as a home match for someone else so really it's 20*19=380 matches
Similarly, 32 teams playing 31 matches is 992 games or if it's only 1 encounter for every pair of teams since home and away doesnt matter as much in PES, 496 games
I propose that 1st places teams from their group would be seeded 1 - 8. Then the 4chan rankings would determine the order from 1 - 8.
The 2nd places teams would be seeded 9-16. Then same 4chan ranking order would follow.
Then it'll be.
1 vs 16
3 vs 14
5 vs 12
7 vs 10
8 vs 9
6 vs 11
4 vs 13
2 vs 15
Just randomly draw winners of groups A-D with runners-up from E-H (and vice versa) or something. The prospect of two teams from the same group meeting in the final would be hype.
As somebody who uses /fog/, most of the general was actually interested in what was going on over on their horsefucker counterpart during the pony league, but then took a look at the shitflinging here and there and decided that they didn't want to have anything to do with VGL.
So whoever is trying to false-flag for his special /fog/ team to happen, go blame the horsefuckers for ruining it for everybody.
Which pony general most likely would've won the /mlp/ league had it actually happened? There were four that were ready to go (fallout, fat pony, bats, and anon in equestria) and play memeball.
Why is there even a need to? There is no reason for rankings which were done outside of the tournament to determine places other than for initial seeding. If a low ranked team topped their group, they deserve it, and there's no reason for their ranking to determine who they face in subsequent rounds. Because all that matters for ranking is the performance within the tournament itself.
Rankings should only be used as a last resort tiebreaker, and even then I'd prefer the coin toss.
yeah thats bullshit if that happens, but i was talking about 1st vs 2nd tournament placements based on ranking from inside the cup not global seeding
Thats what normally happens to give people a reason to be 1st in a group to earn the easier route
Fine, but even if you really meant that I still won't recommend it, there's the chance of teams from the same group playing each other in the first knockout round.
Also some groups can be stronger than others, moreso with the fact that some of the teams may be new and untested and some of the untested turn out to be strong.
Not a good idea if you ask me.
tfw /wg/ and /vg/ can still both advance from their group
According to group strength (average of the 4chan rankings of the teams in the group), strongest to weakest group is as follows:
1. Group E
2 Group A
3. Group H
4. Group C
5. Group F
6. Group B
7. Group D
8. Group G
I propose that the seeding would be as follows:
Group E Winner vs Group G 2nd Place
Group B Winner vs Group H 2nd place
Group C winner vs Group F 2nd place
Group D winner vs Group A 2nd Place
Group H Winner vs Group B 2nd place
Group F Winner vs Group C 2nd Place
Group A Winner vs Group D 2nd place
Group G winner vs Group E 2nd place
Why don't we just use rankings within a cup?
What I mean by this is: /fit/ and /a/ will both likely 12-point their groups. With the current setup, they would meet in the quarterfinals if they both win their round of 16 games because groups G and H are next to each other. By seeding within the cup, however, you make /fit/ the 1 seed, /a/ the 2 seed, and so on down the line through all the group winners, then repeat for slots 9-16 with the group runner-ups. So a team that squeaks out of the group with 6 points would probably have a very low seed, while a very strong runner-up would get to play a weak group winner.
This system both still encourages you to win your group, and to do so by as big of a margin as possible, and tries to ensure that the best teams meet each other last.
/gd/ tried to abuse the Rankings system by promoting and intentionally getting relegated, this is one of the reasons m3ow got banned and why the cup no longer uses rankings for group draws.
People can do that nowadays. Say I'm /a/. I could throw to /3/, let /s4s/ go top with a win over /adv/ so i don't have to play /fit/ in the quarter finals when I know that I could beat just about any team in group A-D and make the finals.
I was actually there when he said it, he didn't like the fact that he was in pot 3 for winter so he decided to yo-yo and rack up ranking points in the babbies so he could eventually be a pot 1 team. He was a loony.
VGL has less mercs than the real cup.
>because he's buddies with Smugleaf
the city of my sides
I'm sure you're not a merc and will do well.
I paid like three Leviathan Pouches for this, we can't possibly lose, kupo.
Even Technetium says Lark is a MERC
MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC MERC
It's fine, I've already accepted my fate.
Generals are kind of a mixed bag on /mlp/. Lots of people hate the fact that there are so many, so when the /mlp/ league was announced there was instantly a lot of negative feedback about it. A lot of generals absolutely didn't care for it at all, but they were getting roped into it by people who didn't go to that general but just wanted to see more teams in the league, and they complained of all the people spamming irrelevant (futbol) shit in their threads. Then there was also the people running it, who were extremely obnoxious about everything (Rarifag and Wanderer) and who kept pushing it on to people who didn't want to be involved with it.
It was these factors that caused it the /mlp/ league to crash and burn.
/vg/ is all about generals, so you don't have that kind of aversion towards a generals league like you would have on other boards. The people seem to be competent enough and not attention whorish (haven't really paid attention to the whole /vg/ league thing, so correct me if I'm wrong). That just leaves the unwanted futbol spam in generals aspect. I don't go to any generals (except /4ccg/ occasionally) so I have no idea how bad that is. I don't consider someone posting a "hey, you guys interested in joining this tournament thing?" as spam, by the way.
/mlp/ absolutely loves the 4CC, so you can imagine how bad shit got for them to get unhappy about the /mlp/ league.
>wanting to miss out on extra Kregg salt
>It's a Craig talking about /mlp/ and /co/ match
