S3 is indeed out. I started playing 2 weeks ago and i've gotta say i'm loving it so far, i'm currently level 80.
I think that if i haven't been lucky with the scroll drops i would've started hating the game too desu, getting money is too inconsistent in this game.
I don't know why i typed that "desu" but what i actually wanted to type was "desu". Is the EU guild still active? I haven't seen anyone with the tag "FilthyCasuals" around channel 1
haha all my friends are dead hahaha spent a solid hour an a half in the hopes of getting even one other fucking person to help with raids haha still had to solo the golem and Ingkells haha now I have to do another 4 raids solo because this MMO is a fucking graveyard haha tried to buy some gear on marketplace but there's literally nothing outside of lvl 90 gear haha what a great game gonna go have a full fledged conversation with a dog in colhen on channel 1 to fight off this crippling lonliness and depression I've looted from playing a massively multiplayer game solo despite added everyone I've seen to friends and spamming subscribe to every guld with an english name hahahaha
You can play on EU, if you somehow get an old account. I live in Latvia (a country in European Union) and I can't register a new account either, but still can play, because I started before the block.
Most of S2 is good. Island, Graveyard and Desert has some really good bosses, although they kinda ruined Island and Graveyard by repeatedly nerfing them. Misty is meh though. S2 raids are good too, Iset and Crom are one of the best raids in the game, Havan, Enzo and Panth. are fun, easy battles. Only bad S2 raid is Bark, even Kraken and Laki. are kinda fun now and then. Only bad thing about S2 now, is that everyone is way overgeared, no fun in a full party.
This game is incredibly perplexing to me. Such a weird mishmash of the absolute worst and best. Why are there problems unsolved that were there from the very start? Why is the european version blatantly worse at places?
Why is the gameplay so good, yet the players seem to insist to play it like a generic number-focused mmo? Everything about the game feels absolutely uncanny when I play it.
> Why are there problems unsolved that were there from the very start?
Like what? I feel like they have radically changed the game over the years, sometimes for worse, sometimes for better, but they have tried so many things, that I don't think there's anything remaining from the "very start". Only problem that remains, is what people call "unresponsive controls", which has been true to a varied extent.
> Why is the european version blatantly worse at places?
NA is worse at places, CN is worse than both, even KR is worse at some places.
> players seem to insist to play it like a generic number-focused mmo?
If you're complaining about restricted boats, then join a decent guild. You're judged by numbers, because there's nothing else to judge you by on a public boat. Geared random > poor random.
Here's something funny I stumbled upon:
forum.gamer com tw/C.php?bsn=16583&snA=56948
A Chinese guide on how to play Vindicuts on the NA server. Some good stuff there, the cultural differences section is actually very fascinating, from what I can understand with Google Translate.
> US version players although the speech was very casual, but they are quite comply with the rules. Mouth would say swearing (not for people) or color-color words, in fact, there is nothing malicious. Do things swearing is homely thing on the Web, because swearing can help relieve tension and pressure of the atmosphere (not to speak too loudly to be heard family members).

Also,speaking of homos,Hagie when?
A decent amount has to do with the different directors the game has had over its life. The first one got promoted to work on a more important game due to the success of this game and was replaced with the next person in-line, a guy infamous for turning every game he touches into shit. IIRC his reasoning for adding +11-15 weapon enhancement was that it would help out new players.
The weird balance stuff has a lot to do with them ignoring test server feedback for a long time coupled with going from testing with set gear, where everyone used a +10 Ivory, Hilder set and had no titles, to whatever gear players had on live servers. All that resulted in a cascade of dumb decisions that eventually got removed via nerfs months later anyways like Kraken and Lakoria def buff,S2 dungeons, and "real" jump. There's a lot of half assed stuff that will probably never get finished or really fleshed out due to things like this. Keep in mind when asked if armor would deviate from being plate+strength and cloth+int their response was anything else would "be too much work" since they would have to rebalance all sets in the game.
I always thought it was funny that your character always turns clockwise by default, the only way to override it and turn left is by holding forward and using the mouse to the adjust the camera. Only ever an issue while using Vella's old crosscut since the cinematic camera shift made it hard to compensate for it.
So with the Karok Update probably already hit Korea (if they kept to their schedule), when can we expect that to hit the West?
And did they keep to their November projection for the Kai and Vella Updates?
(And does anyone know how to carbon freeze a Lynn? I think mine would be better off not feeling the loneliness of the bottom tier for the year it will take to update Hurk, give him a second weapon, and finally come around to her.)
Let's design a boss which is the size of a player character, and expect timing-based characters to be able to dodge her attacks when there are 6 people wailing on her and she's entirely impossible to see!
So i'm completely tuck right now. I'm at level 77, and now to level i've gotta do raids alright. but every fucking group only accepts people waaaaaay above the raid's reccomended level to do it faster and there is absolutely no one trying to do them that is around my level, it's just 90s. I love this game and i really tried my best to understand it and get good at it but this is getting frustrating.
>inb4 thread dies again while i actually have time to post relevant stuff later
just try level up to 80
every day it will be more and more annoying to find a raids where you wont be kicked, even if its a seemingly non-restricted pt (if somebody hosts dem raids at all)
do sg/td/cmi runs (or even peaks), if no party for them, try to solo the bosses you can take on at least
do rocheste master/valor, etc runs for a bit of change too
+finish your s1/s2 quests, if you haven't done them yet
also, don't bother with colhen/rocheste raids (except lio/keagh for WB.) they give really poor Xp
I feel awful for people in your position, on their first character and trying to get equipped with 80 gear. The power gap between 70 and 80 level gear is so large that people don't really want level 70's on their boats, because it makes that much of a difference in the boss fight.
The best advice would be what >>121157406 has given you, try leveling up to 80 and then use your seals of bravery to help you craft an 80 weapon as soon as you can. I'd skip the armor until 90, because 90 armor is far cheaper than 80.
>Karok might be bundled in Dec or come out in Jan.
I doubt it'll come with episode 4 since the updates are scarce as it is.Bundling 2 of them together would make the game go through a huge drought later on.
It's either Ep4 with Karok or Karok in January as far as I see it.
Ep4 has to be there since there's nothing motivating players to return and spend $$$ on shit. I don't think Haggie is getting as much hype as Arisha.
>nexon eu holds a survey

10/10 nexon, made me jealous about not playing fucking bingo
>>what is your favourite event?

make the second weep of your class to +15
When is Lugh coming? I just bought all of my solid shards today...
>tfw you blow up your 90 weapon and Ferghus doesn't even give back the feather
>tfw no pumpkin map since like 3 days
is it even possible to get into that area on daily battles?
sooner or later luck always comes
>buying a level 80 weapon shouldn't be a problem
just don't buy something like +5..+8 80's with leo, twinkling, etc,
if not planning to +10 it, it's just a waste to unbind it later
Well shit. I saw kep following the marketplace all day and as soon as i found someone willing to sell it for really cheap i bought it. Well, good thing i still have 3 unbind potions then
>allergic duck is allergic to its own feathers
be quack or be ded
Am I missing something? why is the accessory market being flooded with lv70-80 s2 rings and shit?
Is there some trick to clearing 70-80 quests in S2 solo at ~lvl70? I got to some pirate motherfucker and he wipes the floor with me. Kielu was similar but I at least I felt I had a chance in that fight even if it took forever. Do I just need a group of 80-90s for this shit?
>played BnS CBT over the weekend
>"gee the combat feels like shit, I could be playing vindictus right now"
>remember that I played only Lynn, who is literally extra baggage in S3 boats now
>tfw don't have the willpower to log in now
I had it coming, but I ignored it.
I should've played that tittyslut arisha instead
Anyway, is east alive or is it still dead with 3-5 members on max?
You could say it's being filled with
Some speculation on the topic:
Currently downloading since the combat system seems more engaging & involved compared to other MMOs my friends usually get me to play. I thinking of playing as Lynn unless there's some characters I should avoid.
Any tips or things I should know before getting started? I guess one big question I have is how is equipment progression in this game? Should I not worry about it at all until high levels?
>how is equipment progression in this game? Should I not worry about it at all until high levels?
don't spend unnecessarily until 80+, you have to worry about gear only around lvl70
you are good to go with any random trash equip until lvl60s
don't buy items +9/+10 and r9 scrolls or higher if you don't want to keep it for a long time, it will bound to you
main concern will be only the weapon (and at 70+ accessories too)
armor is just what isn't too expensive, def won't save you anyway
>unless there's some characters I should avoid.
there are worse and better chars (in terms of dps and how fun/boring or easy/hard to play they are)
but none of them are terribly bad, just go by gameplay vids
also, the battles will be more about bossraids than mobs in the endgame, so isn't neccesary to decide by how the char goes against mobs
If you leveling, do the quests too, main quest and many side quests give meaningful xp
many people quit because there is a high jump at 80-90 in gear and requirements being put on boats, but with time this can be overcome (unlike other mmos, lvling isn't takes that long, but getting good gear does)
I don't know if you're still here but here's my pro tips.
Play through the game normally as if it's a single player action game. Around level 45-50 is when battles start to get difficult and you'll want to party up with another person.
You don't need to spend money on new armor until things start to 2shot you. This will happen around later levels 40, 50, 60, 70, etc. Weapons are the same--try to upgrade your weapon every 10 or 20 levels. Equipment should be fairly cheap on the auction house and most of it doesn't bind to you so you can sell them afterwards.
My last advice is to look up videos on youtube of your character. Videos like raid solos or speed solos give you a slight hint of how the playstyle looks like at endgame.
You're also welcome to join your respective server's /vg/ guild and ask questions. We're usually friendlier than other game communities.
Not even Dr. Manhattan himself can save it.
Great, thanks for the replies. Kind of relieved with equipment not being a problem for a while so as I can just focus on learning the mechanics of my character first and foremost. Not too hung up on playing "meta" or anything - I usually take up the spearman/lancer class in games so Lynn caught my eye first.
Will look into joining the /vg/ guild west after I get a couple hours into the game to familiarize myself with it!
Regarding skills, AP is unlimited and you will max all of them, but it will take a long time, so prioritize skills that unlock abilities and skills that increase damage by a percentage, instead of skills that give a fixed benefit. Smash Mastery, Critical Hit, Battle Respiration, HP Potion Proficiency and Life Flare are good, rest of the common skills can be ignored for a while, except for weapon & armor Proficiency skills as needed. With Lynn, you have to level your skills to a certain rank, to unlock the ability to make golden orbs with the right timing, which is very important and what Lynn is all about. Lynn has a lot of SP skills, but focus on Flying Snow and Jade Fox for now, rest are more or less situational and arguably they can be ignored entirely.
really old player here thinking of coming back. theres really nothing interesting out there, all games just plain suck.
i remember quiting back when season 2 hit due to the major dissapointment it was + all the jumping and game mechanics changes really sucked. i read up a bit and it seems the players thought the same.
i can see they made tons of game changes, but is it still as repetetive as before? is the game overall a huge number wanking? do people have to pay to compete (PVE)?
i played in NA, am a proxy user, im not going to start all over again in EU. heard its worse there and those idiots chose the XE version, little difference now i suppose...
so, are proxy users still shuned upon? is the game worth getting back to? is loging as a proxy user harder/easier? i remember it constantly being battled like they wanted the game to die faster..
i mained evie. had others too but i dont really remember. the changes look interesting, so many new chars too.. will probably have to make an extra account eventualy..
1. Install Bitvise to connect to a proxy
2. Create a free 3-day account on fastssh.com (it's quick)
3. Config Bitivise to use that proxy and open a port on your own machine to use it
4. Use Proxifier Portable to direct Vindictus.exe port 27015 to the port you opened with Bitvise
5. Play game
Sounds like a pain, but it's pretty easy and you do it only once. Except for the account on fastssh which you need to create again every 3 days.
By redirecting only port 27015, you still keep a p2p connection to other players, which prevents you from lagging too much.
> is it still as repetetive as before?
Yes. Do daily raids, farm maps, farm AP, farm titles, it's a MMORPG, all of them are repetitive.
> is the game overall a huge number wanking?
Sure. Getting better and better equipment is what the game is about... it's a MMORPG after all.
> do people have to pay to compete (PVE)?
Kinda. It's not a competitive game to begin with and if you want to do top damage, then which character you play matters a lot. But sure, it's a lot easier to gear up, if you don't mind spending money, it's a F2P game after all. Not sure how it is in NA, but plenty of people play at a "competitive" level without spending any money on EU (Tir and NX gifting).
> is the game worth getting back to?
If you like the combat. The core gameplay hasn't changed, it's still the same game. Well, depends how long ago you played, comparing Vindictus at release with how it is now, the game has become faster and easier, but maybe it's just me...
>its a MMORPG
yeah actualy thats fair enough i guess.. not sure why i asked those questions.
>faster and easier
how the hell can it get easier though? i remember finished season 1 with buddies, we steamrolled the damn thing and it was underwhelming..
the story was always great though so its so damn worth it,
is the unnecessary platforming and silly jumps to avoid attacks rather than using your invul frames and or char mechanics still a thing? i really, really hated that. premiere version became XE and it got so goddamn silly..
should mention that i started playing around season 1 episode 4 update, pretty damn long ago.
i quit around a month or two of season 2 release due to proxy and game being a dissapointment issues.
loged once iirc a few monthes ago to use AP and see how things are going, didnt last more than an hour because it felt.. empty.
Although, it's less repetitive now than ever, because they didn't make S2 content obsolete, like they made S1 with S2 release. Now you have to do S3 for weapon and armor and S2 for accessories and enchants. On EU, S3 maps are the most profitable content, then S2 raids, while S3 raids are only in 3rd place.
> how the hell can it get easier though?
They added Easy mode and S1 gives more EXP, leveling is a joke, can be done in one or two weekends, that's not necessary bad, but yes... But the biggest change is in character design, they make characters easier to play - give them better survivability, more mobility and more damage. There is a change in raid design too, later in S2 all raids started having some non-combat mechanism, that you have to pay attention to, sometimes it make the raid more interesting, but sometimes it's all that the raid has going for itself. It's not that new raids are pushovers, there are some really good ones, but I haven't seen a party wiping over and over trying to complete a raid, like it was with S1 Glas release, for example. Maybe it's just me playing the game too much and overgearing. There are people who complain about unfair difficulty, so who knows. Regarding difficulty, one really cool thing is Niflheim raids, no reviving and no CC there, they're seriously good and take good time to master for most characters.
> silly jumps
They removed jumping and redesigned those bosses. That jumping introduced in S2 wasn't really a XE thing and XE still has the original jumping, but same as on NA, there's no reason to use it. They keep trying to add attacks that can't be dodged, they added unblockable attacks in S1 and those are still here, but have been made easier to block; in S2 they added jumping, then removed it; in S3 they added "red" attacks, that are kinda like unblockable, but can't be blocked in any case, have to move out of their range. I actually like "red" attacks, they add more variety to the combat.
>i played in NA, am a proxy user, im not going to start all over again in EU.
If you really an old player coming back then your stuff probably isn't worth anything much anyway, so you can just start on EU and lvling a char to 60-70s isn't that a big hassle
>heard its worse there and those idiots chose the XE version
the "XE version" thing is just a stupid phrase going around, there isn't that a big difference in gameplay to consider proxy to NA from the eu (except sperg lann)
>is the game worth getting back to?
if you liked the gameplay back then, then is worth checking back anyway
just have to decide later if want to stay for farming to gear up endgame equips
>but is it still as repetetive as before? is the game overall a huge number wanking? do people have to pay to compete (PVE)?
yes and no
usually, if not having 18k+ then regular s2 and s3 runs is off the possibilities
but you can still find ffa parties from time to time
on a note, a +10 lvl80 weap will net you that att, costs around 10-15kk
a starter lvl90 weap is like 15kk, a gold amount what you will get by just lvling, saving up quest reward gold and random stuff you get meanwhile, +selling older equip
and getting endgame gear is somewhat cheaper now, but still can take time
also, starter lvl90 armor is even more stupidly cheap, 100-200k compared to 1-2kk lvl80 parts
before s3, lvl80 weap was 40-50kk at least and each armor part was 15-25kk
this post makes me happy.
i dont know about value of things but i do know time spent and current position, you tell me, pic related is my main, got a fiona and a lann slightly lower. less "funded".
>XE version is a stupid phrase
i honestly dont know about now but it used to be a monumental difference in enemy and boss AI, base animations, stamina, combos, all the shit S2 brought and what ruined the game for me.
>farming stuff to get back
i dont mind that, MMORPGs right?
>weapons and costs
i seem to have that amount, for weapons atleast.
>inflation and shit
yeah i figure, thanks.
alright, just need a stable enough way to log and play and im off.
also again, some feedback about my char please?
You can stick with wonderland all through 90. My Evie is still using enchanted wonderland with a 90 weapon. If you think things are actually getting through mana shields too often, look into power infusion. Infusing DEF onto 60 armor is pretty cheap.
Evie now is the easiest character to play, while doing the highest damage (at least in top 3). But level 60 equipment isn't worth anything. If your Wonderland is Well-Balanced & Enthusiastic/Force scrolled, then you can continue using it, otherwise you'll replace it as soon as you can equip level 90 stuff. Only thing worth anything might be lv70/lv80 accessories, but they're cheap for Evies anyway.
> i seem to have that amount
On NA, which is worth way, way less than on EU. Prices differ between servers a lot.
> just need a stable enough way to log and play
If you can't get it to work, might as well try EU. Gameplay differences are kinda negligible. The biggest difference between servers is in management and EU has it somewhat better, with cheaper NX items, Tir and allowed NX selling.
great then, is plate evie still a thing or did they kill that meme somehow?
neat, i always liked her since day 1, runes and old firebolt and shit was hilarious.
i miss being a healing bunny with a mean kick. ;_;
my wonderland isnt finished but yeah its close.
currently cant play due to family being over so i cant actualy start sorting shit. sigh.
>reading mainsite to catch up on shit
>missed an amazing event with amazing shit
>cosplay and paint out the ass
>is plate evie still a thing or did they kill that meme somehow?
It's a bit strange now, lv90 Plate has exactly the same stats as lv90 Cloth, in fact all lv90 armor sets have exactly the same stats, same as all lv90 weapons have the same stats. That's a consequence of changing how lv90 equipment is crafted.
The only difference between Plate, Heavy, Light and Cloth is in which armor proficiency you need to level up and which enchants you can put on them. They also released new enchants for all armor types, which are better than old enchants we had and which are very similar between armor types. So it's still that enchanted Plate has higher DEF than Cloth and Cloth has higher DPS than Plate, but the difference is small.
Regarding Evie specifically, now Plate Evie is more of a thing than ever, because Mana Shield benefits from DEF.
i see. neat, wont that make evie the literal best at everything though?
>can finnaly play
>oh for fucks sake how long wi-
>5 fucking hours
just fuck my shit up senpai
She pretty much is the best at everything right now. Partially that's because they started revamping all characters, Lann got a revamp that made him really good too; Fiona got a revamp that improved her, but not that dramatically; Karok is next and looks like he will be very powerful too. So by the time they're done with revamps, Evie probably won't be the best character anymore, although hard to imagine a character with better survivability than scythe and staff.
Apparently cestus is now a top deeps contender according to Junyoop, but he also mentioned that it's buggy.
Pillar looks pretty sweet now too.
Is there anywhere we can look to see what all has actually changed?
Question, are the private servers for this game legit?
I live in latin america, and they decided to make this thing region locked.
I live in Latin America if it matters.
>inb4 hue hue.
i seem to be retarded and cant follow simple instructions, im having trouble in step 3 and above.
please have mercy for it by the grace of god that i can wipe myself.
NA release timeline revised for Ancient Glas update, finally have a chance to post this now that the general is alive again.
We last had a 1 month break between updates four years ago for S1E8
Haven't used that, but I messed around with SoftEther VPN for EU. Stupid easy to setup and use, also free. Lagged like hell though, but depends how good of a server you happen to find. If nothing else works, could give it a try.
>log in for once
>only 4 people online in NFA
Can this game be even saved anymore?
Without the general being up this past while there's been so few applicants to NFA. I'm not sure what would happen if the general dies again and there's someone that applied. You can't exactly tell them to go post in a dead general to verify.
Maybe if we had a golden time event.
I'm guessing the majority use M/KB for this game? Are you essentially gimping yourself for certain content if you use a controller due to the differences in camera control or are they not much different?
I dont play with a controller but ive heard that they arent very different. You wont be at an disadvantage for playing with a controller.
I think the only restriction youll have is that you cant play Kai? Someone correct me if im wrong about that.
yes, lvl70 it isn't that high to start over, but together with that high ap count and gear maybe you are better of sticking with NA then
>boss AI, base animations, stamina, combos, all the shit S2 brought
boss ai and animations are same, combo counter as an extra doesn't makes eu any worse, the only actual gameplay difference how attacks and running goes with stamina (and that doesn't makes premiere version better)
and yeah, s2 jumping gimmicks got revamped and that jump removed, the s1 style jump what eu got, has no any gameplay advantage
just telling this as a misc info, don't have to change your mind based only on this, (but if don't want to hassle with proxy/vpn or finding pts seems harder cause of the different timezones and lag becomes a problem cause of the distance, then eu gameplay isn't worse if you thinking about changing servers)
>no sign of broken weapon+armor pieces or bottles of strawberry brandy+enhancement stones on the floor
>that fucking bottle of Sprite
0/10 would not visit.
I hope they make tent attacks true unblockable and increase s2 attack again, these runs are garbage
They're actually nerfing some S2 bosses instead.
so, Enhancement won't reset for sure when replacing secondary mats, right?
>believing vindictus has the best combat system
PvE wise vindi comes out slightly better than BnS. Literally no one does PvP in vindi other than for artifacts so I won't bother critiquing it.
I still like lynn and I would never toss her aside, maybe I should get the iset outfitter for her while it's still cheap
Every few months some new shitty zoom-all-the-way-out mmo with lockstrafe movement and no hit delay is supposed to kill Vindictus.
Then they say shit like:
>"But you have to dodge things!"
As though walking away from an aoe indicator and going on with your dps rotation is anything special.
S3 is bullshit for Lynn since once the boss's (raid or non-raid) skill animation starts you can't cancel it even with jade fox flying snow/10 SA stack detonation, which in itself fucks her over hard. The only time the flinch does anything is when the boss is idle for the short period there is, and even then you'll end up canceling their idle animation frame and make them start a new attack instead
or knock them down if you're lucky
PvE in BnS is a joke, I pretty much soloed through most of the content the time I had last weekend. Main selling point of it imo is the sliderfu simulator.
Aim for level 80, raid as much as you can so you can use seals for 80 equips.
S2 raids drop r7 scrolls and some s1 raids drop well-balanced which is really high in demand now so people run them daily.
If you can get to lvl 90, You can get some cheap gear pretty easily
People still do s2 raids since they drop rank 7 scrolls now
As for s1 raids people mostly just do lionotus, colru, dragons, and keaghan for the scrolls
>Do people even do all the easy S1/2 raids anymore?
from s1 raids only lio+keagh for WB, others don't give anything higher valued or any good xp
and maybe colru+dragons for fun and a chance of leo, berserker, etc for a little income
>2 Element Stones from 7 Raonne pouches
although i would need some Intermediates now
So, I have a feeling I'm playing arisha wrong or at least poorly
I have 22k m att but I'm usually 4th-2nd. If I get top damage it's usually a run that took 20 minutes or longer
What are some good arisha guides I can look up?
I'm only 4 bal short of the cap, not sure about crit
I was more looking for specific names I should look up for videos
>then you'll end up canceling their idle animation frame
I feel like that's a glitch, because 90% of the time it causes the flinching animation for me.
S3 crit cap is 130 tho.
S2 is 110 if I recall correctly.
>run ben chenner duos with decently geared 20k+ staff evies
>we get ~50% dps each
>run ben chenner with a 20k 90 bal evie
>she gets 60%-70%
Jesus christ bal makes such a difference
>mfw this thread again
>mfw its already on page 10 when i found it
>mfw its still dead
Oh yeah, you need to stack crit hard. Crit cap for S2 is 110 and 130 for season 3, so you're way under. Crit is vital to Arisha, so if you can boost that, you'll get way better results.
It's always 0.5%, because balance simply specifies how much your attack damage varies. It's the lower bound in percents, with upper being 100%. So at 50 balance your attacks do damage between 50% and 100% of their full damage, at 90 balance they do between 90% and 100%. Only thing why benefit might seem lower at higher balance, is because RNG can't screw you over as much - at low balance you can get unlucky and do very little damage for a while, while at high balance your damage doesn't vary that much.
Your main gimmick is rendered useless in S3 maps, but you can still perform well in general and carry pub boats as long as you know what you're doing. It's just that if you wanted to do lann/evie tier damage and be top dps in every raid you pretty much picked the wrong character to do so.
Negligible on what metric?
Because Lynn is definitely in the lower tier of characters now and will probably bottom out by the end of all the character revamps. She was also mid DPS in exchange for her on-demand flinch, but now that the gimmick is basically gone in S3, she's woefully underpowered.
Perhaps Derpcat could just uncap her skills to r3 or something - that should help a lot.
It's the same as it was in S2 pretty much, she's not bad, just could really be better. If a Lynn is getting top deeps, then your party is probably shit and they're really good.
Yes. I understand that they don't think continuous balance changes are as important as in PvP games, but still, they could have done a better job, it's just little number tweaking now and then. Or if you believe Nexon is inherently evil, then they're doing this on purpose, to ensure people move between characters as much as possible.
Vella is easier to play, swords are strong solo, chains are strong in party (very strong on EU). Swords are still buggy, from what I hear.
Arisha is harder to play, on of the more complex characters, many skills, many options. Little cheaper accessories (INT, not STR). Not sure how good her damage is now, but should be okay.
As Evie, you can definitely skip 80 armor all together. You'll feel like a fool for wasting money on 80 armor when 90 stuff is pennies in comparison, especially since the defense is just so much higher.
Should be just 4 in season 3. Just because historically a new season was a big deal, doesn't mean that it has to be that way always. But yes, a bit weird. Guess they simply wanted to do it this way because of the story.
I don't think season 4 will bring anything new, it probably will be the structured the same way as season 3 and raids/maps will drop accessory materials.
I'd say, level 100 can be expected after we get lv90 accessories. Probably lv90 won't last as long as lv80, because they can't keep adding stuff to farm - now all armor and weapons have the same stats, not like with lv80 equipment.
Search for "muir <your class> solo" on YouTube and study that, to figure out what you're doing wrong.
If you're still having trouble, then ask a specific question here. Which class are you playing? Which attack are you having trouble with?
Hell, if you're playing scythe, cestus or Lynn, I can make you a video, I got 0 hits title on with characters.
Everyone's getting a buff, so no use complaining. Plus I need a skill to sink all the SP I have while everything's on cool down.
Embrace the new overpowered characters that will kill any challenge left with this game.
>Yeah, but Arisha is going to be last and most likely with a minor buff.
I don't really mind that.I find that she's in a good spot right now so i expect that they'll just uncap her skills a bit and maybe throw in a new sp skill (cause really,i spent most of my time being in full sp with everything on cd).
Also seconding this.
I'm betting that Hurk and Arisha will get lumped together because neither of them need significant changes.
Lynn deserves a standalone update since she really will be bottom tier DPS when the Karok and TS vella updates hit.
>having even a shred of knowledge on what the definition of optimization is
There's a multithread option when you make your runs "smoother", but apparently it's in beta for years already and it accomplishes nothing but occasionally crashes everyone that joined your run/raid.
Other than that, no improvements whatsoever
Indeed. I don't think Hurk and Arisha will get touched that much, but Lynn needs more than just uncaps since her main gimmick is rendered useless these days. Perhaps make it so she gets a guaranteed flinch with all gold stacks or something.
>Perhaps make it so she gets a guaranteed flinch with all gold stacks or something.
I've always thought she should have just gotten a major damage boost to her explosions when she gets all gold stacks. Not only would this be a good buff to the characters dps without making her braindead but it would have also given her second sp skill an actual use.
As much as I loved playing Lynn I don't want S3 bosses being like S2&1 where parties full of her are just bouncing the boss back and forth with flinches.
>do you get 50%+ after a certain combo number?
This. The more hits you do without getting hit yourself the higher your bonus damage.
Once you get hit the counter and bonus damage are reset.
How many consecutive hits you need depends on which character you play.
Oh and if youre an Evie it only resets when your HP takes damage. If you take a hit with your manashield up the combo bonus is preserved.
If you have room, hold onto this (see screenshot), can sell everything else. Market or NPC depends entirely on the price and the current market situation, but usually it's not worth bothering. Pay attention to what quests ask for, those items usually are in some demand. Also, don't sell to NPCs, burn your trash instead, you get the same gold + small bonus things.
This is probably a silly question: do you mean the black marked items in the screenshot or everything but them? A little unclear to me.
And I looked into the item burning. The prereq is from S3. Am I still be able to start the quest from Brynn despite still working on S1?
>I've always thought she should have just gotten a major damage boost to her explosions when she gets all gold stacks
I've always wanted that too, but that basically makes her a variation of Scythe Evie and we really don't need that.
>S2&1 where parties full of her are just bouncing the boss back and forth with flinches.
But that's the best part of having a party full of
L Y N N S
since you can't chain knockdown bosses anymore.
Everything but the black crossed out items. Life Ergs can always be used up. (Blessed) Magic Powder and Elixirs are required in huge amounts for enchantment. Enhancement materials are good to have, but sell them if price seems high, or once you have equipment of higher grade. Level 90 cloth, leather, ore, orb will be useful for lv90 stuff. Level 80 cloth, leather, ore is kinda cheap, but worth saving if you will craft lv80 stuff, at least save ore. Copper, Silver and Iron ore is required for Fine Armor Repair Kits, which are nice to have. Random coupons/tickets/keys is just what you will have around.
As for burning quest, I don't know when it unlocks. Go to Colhen camp in docs and see if that birdhouse starts a quest or something.
>Fine Armor Repair Kits
playing since years and haven't knew about such thing exits
i don't know, but there will be chapters, so after lugh, sometime in the future chapter 2 will come, probably with similar structure
meanwhile they have to know they should change structure and battle layout to make it interesting after the current ones
hope lvl90 will stay for a good while, lvl100 would be a huge power creep now
That's because the way they implemented it only separates the hosting portion to its own process (srcds). You effectively become a client to yourself (including bugs you only get while joining someone else), and will never get performance better than what you get while soloing.
They were only added with Muir. I never use repair kits anyway so I don't see the point of investing ores into them.
>Some time will be needed to apply the changes.
Eagerly awaiting the server crashes.
>item boost to level 75
>20k ap capsule
>14 day equipment
Well shit I don't really have anyone to level right now, I hope it's tradable within the account
and doesn't expire
Now that's a cash shop item that will make Nexon money.
Holy shit, that's brutal.
A well executed fashion aspect that really entices lonely neckbeards like us, whales that love to gamble, and people that are really lazy and need a fast past to endgame content.
>korean mmo developers even needing to try to kill vindictus when it's already dead
the only appeal of the game left is for the people who care about soloing content, aka something 99.9% of the entire population doesnt care about
No, it's cute.
And he's more inspired by kpop stars
Shield Deflection is the best thing they ever did for Fiona.
nah, if you prefer staff gameplay then better concentrate on that, no matter how much ap you have stacked up, ranking skills higher on both is a real AP eater
but for general leveling magic/int/smash/crit mastery is important
for scythe use, try to get on Mark of Death / Bloody Thread as often as you can, for longer openings
if unsure or only there is a short opening then use LLR+E
also level these skills mainly (+the smashes for these three)
level insane reaper too +use whenever there is enough SP or not on cooldown (skill awakening can completly remove cooldown too)
using sp for meteor swarm (or rev grav) is good only if the party profits more from the long opening to do damage
but meteor is for example useful where boss has high def but low HP (Succubus hero is one of them)
Arcane gate is a strong skill, and should get good with it, but can leave leveling it for later (reverse gravity and meteor swarm is less important to level at first too)
Also, as soon as used Blink and out of boss' way, can instantly start up attacking, the delay is removed now after the revamp
The benefit to hammer is tremendous. While speed is less necessary than before, it's a huge benefit to continue your combo after a deflect. I would still use it even if it didn't give the next smash a 50+ damage boost.
>just like this below a certain level
yes, only the first 2 area maps
but better look for mp board for those mats, what items you could sell significantly higher than NPC price
but in large pts with less aggro on her and sandbags it looks staffies always score high dps even among other chars too
It's hard to say, since he looks phenomenal either way.
I guess I'd go with dignified and switch to slutboi when I find something that's over the top enough
I dunno, according to the koreans he's supposed to be good.
I'm currently a level 82 Arisha, getting armor so far has been a fucking nightmare.
Why play spear when sword is so much easier but they're about equal in damage?
I mean, what's the charm of Evie, right?
Compare Fiona to Arisha.
I think Fiona's more conservative, at least
So is there a general consensus on camera settings I should follow before I start picking up bad habits that could affect endgame?
Also, anyone have any tips on how to successfully time Lynn's smashes for gold marks? I'm struggling to get it consistent right now.
I find that if you let go as soon as you see the orange flash, you can get the gold marks. And then it's just practice until you can constantly do it. I'll practice while waiting for boats to fill up.
Also, I have camera settings the same, but I have attack in camera direction on, and auto-aim at enemies off. I find that it's easier to have your character attack in the same direction that you're looking at.
Scythe seems to be better for solo situations, but in party play Staff tends to be better since she can use Raze every time it's off cooldown.
Haggie is literally L.
Personally, I think Evie is the perfect example of a youthful woman in her most shining years.
Lynn is more of just a kid and kind of a brat (her bio confirms this).
>Fiona is an adult.
An experienced whore.
Fiona is the normal-ish childhood friend that doesn't have the courage to speak her feelings.
Evie is the energetic girl that forces you onto whatever whims she has.
Vella is that tease that's actually shy and just bluffs, turns into a shy girl the moment you push her and call her bluff.
Lynn is the bratty imouto tsundere character.
Arisha is that sex-bomb that isn't aware of it and is often confused why people ogle her like that. Also purest girl.
Yeah,i was bored.
Fiona is definitely the bit older and more experienced girl that's calmed down. In a slice of life she'd be a young mother. Not shy at all.
Evie is a snooty arrogant girl, has an O HO HO HO laugh and is arrogant about her intelligence.
Vella is a total slut, nothing bluff about it.
lynn is bratty as fuck, I can agree with this.
Arisha is smug as fuck about her sex appeal and probably did some spellsword ritual to get the biggest breasts in all the lands, but she's not nearly as promiscuous as vella.
I'm right, you're wrong
I just come and check to see if there's any >interesting discussion going on. Other than that, necromancers roam this thread I guess.
>The last time we actually hit the bump limit was a long time ago
>autistic lynnposters were the ones that carried this gen through the spring and summer whether there was a discussion going on or not
Literally the heroes we need but don't deserve
but I don't want this shit to happen again
Was Mabi 2 cancelled or something
The game's been dead for over a year population wise. Only a handful of waifufags who spend $20 a day keep it alive.
I know TERA and B&S are a thing now, but Vindictus has some damn fine character models.
Me and my friend are new to this and enjoying our time immensely.
My only question is really if there's any UI mods or something that I wouldn't know about the game that I SHOULD know.
We're level 39 btw.
> if there's any UI mods
no not really, and there isn't much mods around, but there should be an ui update sometime in the future now
>or something that I wouldn't know about the game that I SHOULD know.
there is a faq in op's post, other than this, not much that i can think of now
leveling is mostly fast until 70s, the more serious 6-8 ppl raids begin at lvl60, raiding or doing dungeons for drops and gear is goes at lvl80-90
no need to waste too much gold on gear until that
depends how much you like scythe/staff gameplay or if you want use staff anytime again along with scythe
many people main both weap, and AP isn't a problem later on (except if taking regular visits with your weaps at ferghus)
if not, can use them caps, i guess
>I wouldn't know about the game that I SHOULD know.
Spend AP on skills that increase damage by a percentage first, skills that give a fixed bonus aren't that good, almost all of your AP should go into combat skills first, then armor/weapon masteries. Try not to spend gold early, leveling is very easy, the real game starts at lv60, but even lv60 and lv70 equipment won't last much, lv80 and 90 equipment is what you want. But then again, you won't have much gold anyway, you can make it back quickly once you can farm endgame content. Once you're done with story, you might want to grind EXP until you're lv90, instead of trying to farm and craft lv70/lv80 equipment. Best way to get EXP is S2 (Malina) story battles and then S3 (BenChen) story battles, when you unlock them. S2 story battles can be done just once, so you might want to coordinate with your friend - first one takes quests and hosts, then when done, other one takes the same quests and hosts. S3 story battles can be repeated.
Sandbag - Boss that doesn't attack much, i.e. Lakoria.
Ulchas is an S2E4 raid boss. Red Flash are moves in Season 3 which are true unblockables (can't block or use normal invincibility frames to avoid).
Just use it on cooldown when you know you won't get hit out of it. Once you either macro the input or get used to doing it fast, you can try using it instead of a dodge.
Don't worry too much about absorbing with the counter drain followup. You can probably get consistent at it (I'm not cause I'm shit), but that'll happen from practice.
unless theyre all the same damage i dont see why i need 4 different spells on every focus level.
im still experimenting, ironicly, the last time i played was when guided missiles was the ultimate.
i havnt spammed magic missile even when it was literally the best dps, it was boring, still is.
i have 115k ap, i maxed the masteries and i can see the damage everything does, its really hard telling which 1 does the most though, its not like they have long cooldowns that require cycles, what am i missing senpai?
