So I got the ring swap macro thing working, well kinda.
It works like 99% of the time, the thing is you still kinda need to be able to predict if the parry is gonna go through or not, but I guess you could just train yourself to be ready on the hotkey.
Actually it seems like you can just trigger it after the parry has connected, shit's fucked.
ok, gonna go to bed now. Sleep tight
Reminder that /DSG/ can play in the 4CC VGL
More info: http://implyingrigged.info/wiki//vg/_League_5
This is our current Team: http://implyingrigged.info/wiki//dsg/
This is how to get good.
A soccer competition envolving several regular /VG/ threads.
Each thread has a manager and a team that then duke it out using AI players in an organized league.
Each team has players symbolizing local thread culture and references to the general in the form of names and player models.
Weird question I'm sure but as someone new to this series: is there a cookie cutter way to play or are you basically forced to figure shit out on your own and build your own spec/character/class.
is this some kind of
Just play the game and figure out stuff as you go on. Don't be intimidated, it's nowhere near as hard as people say. Most people are just fucking stupid and can't use their heads.
>it's nowhere near as hard as people say
It's not really particularly hard at all, people have just been coddled by a complete lack of a death penalty and the ability to pause mid combat in so many games that they freak out when they encounter those aspects.
I have got 2 spots for player names left, any more suggestions?
Also, how is the new roster looking?
>The best way to pause the game mid-battle would be to stand up, walk over to your console and turn it off.
Keep in mind I play the PC version and Alt+F4 is easier, but it's a port. The original was not designed with any pause in mind
No you can just die and then shut down properly at the bonfire. There's no need to get upset if you have to abort a run because you need to answer the door or something else important. if it's that important a video game death shouldn't be a big deal to you.
Also at least on PS3 you can do an improper shut down straight from your controller that's similar to alt-f4. I assume there's something similar on 360 and the next gen consoles as well.
Shouldn't raime be with a capital R?
Also we should get new goal horns, the current ones aren't hype enough. The only one I can think of is the dubstep from http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oyA8odjCzZ4 when giantdad scores
Capitalize the R in "Can't tame the Raime". Maybe the T in tame as well, if it's some sort of title. I dunno, the t is up to taste, but definitely capitalize the R.
Oh. Seems they beat me to it.
Looks pretty good otherwise.

I really think we have some of the best music in the league compared to all the shitty weeb teams that are entered.
>tfw our rival /acg/ is no long participating
You can farm twinkling titanite, but it takes longer to do so than buying it would. If you have nothing else to spend the souls on and you'd rather save the time, then go for it.
What the fuck, the Dabard golem from the 2006 From Software game Enchanted Arms is the fucking Vanguard ?
I just checked that wiki page and the youtube link for the goalhorn was blocked on copyright grounds.
I'd also suggest this as an alternative goalhorn.
fromsoft reuses things all the time. ominous fog dates back to lost kingdoms, moonlight sword is an iconic weapon that has appeared in numerous games, the dragon bridge scenario and patches from dark souls 1 were copy-pasted straight from demon's souls, ornstein in dark souls 2 of course is copy-pasted from dark souls 1
there's an item in the dukes archive after the 2nd bonfire and after you go down the hidden stairway that i can't pick up
is this bugged? i don't want to exit/quit the game and risk losing it
i posted this last night in the last general but its a different time of day now and i didnt get many responses:
im returning to dark souls 1 after not having played in years, i lost all my save files somehow so im trying to recreate this one super tryhard build i used to have that wasnt very popular but was posted a few times in these generals back then. pic related is what i was able to come up with from memory
general idea was to DMB and spam r1 while facetanking any damage, outdpsing them with high vit and poise. GMB is for sorcery users, while demon's spear is for poking. used to turn all the backstab fishing giantdads into swiss cheese.
anyone here happen to know anything about this build?
Yeah, but I didn't expect to see it copy pasted (I guess I should after the whole Old Dragonslayer shit).
And I'm not surprised about the Moonlight Sword, as that's been in almost all their games. It's basically their symbol at this point. And it's been confirmed today to be included in the BB DLC, too.
messing with spawns when suddenly this thing. what the hell is this and where do you normally find it?
It's in Shulva, when you're running up that path to the tower that leads to the bonfire, you'll find one of those elevators down the cliff. Just fall to the elevator and hit switch surrounded by arrows to take you up.
If you attack the tree with a whip it'll create a cloud that repairs your equipment.
He's a kinky son of a bitch.
Anyone know if there is a way to edit textures in SotFS yet? Also what are good helmet suggestions that look good with either the royal swordsman armor or sanctum knight armor? The royal swordsman helm looks great on the sanctum set but its just slightly too clean/bright and it bothers me.
Any whip, just whip it real good.
Not too good, because you can kill it. Why would I want to do that? He's just some weird tree thing, just sitting there, minding his own business.
You go tree-creature, you do your thing.
Isn't Ornstein a reference to Irbis Ornstein from Armored Core For Answer ?
>doing Loyce with a fat build
>randomly Rampart Golem armor
>shit its actually got really good stats
>put on GSR+1
>walk from raindeer bonfire towards inner wall
>kill 5 golems
>get the full set
I was all ready to farm this shit for years or something, guess the game sometimes to be nice
Have a great day /dsg/
I finally did it! I ranked Souls + Bloodborne on the most important feature
Ability to (Or how easy it is to) make a cute girl character
Bloodborne>Dark Souls 2>Demon's Souls >>>> Dark Souls
Not use a UGS for minimum stats build?
Just get Raimes sword since it actually responds well to dark infusion
Or if you insist on the nonsense Raimes UGS because it looks sick as fuck
So fellas, me and a bud are going to be doing some silly gank squads in Iron Keep Bridge. We're going to be named the same, using the Ring of the Living, and dressed the same. The challenge? Figure out who is host and who is helper!
The question is, what's a decent SM to get invaded there? Dried Finger and Delicate String will, of course, be in use.
i forgot about raime's actually
just using it as a sidearm though
i also forgot about yorgh's spear and how a lighting+slb one on another build tore everyone's anus apart
>DaS2 reddit babetten are still infesting these threads
horrible list, all ds2 character look like austistic anime and des is much harder than das to make a good looking chr. BB don't have random or pre made faces.
I've got 27 str / 14 dex. What's a good weapon for me? It'll be dark, since I'm int / fa. Been using a claymore but might change to Spear. Trying to do the iron king dlc. These enemies don't stagger...
>there are people in this thread who think that DaS2 deserves to be called a Souls game and actually like it
D- don't tell me they play it for the PvP too...
Of course I do, m'lady!
I enjoy the deep metagame of Souls PvP which has been honed to near perfection in the latest installment of the series. It is quite cerebral and forces me to think to outplay my opponents just like a classic game of chess. It is truly a thing of beauty!
I can either use a weapon other than the claymore which I like, use a shield with less than 100% physical/lower weight (one of the light round shields I guess) or drop the bow entirely
but muh aesthetics
Why are talismans so damn heavy anyway
I'm not just using the claymore, I have a few different weapon combinations that work besides this one
if it was just for the claymore I wouldn't have 50Str for example, I'm just fond of the weapon
Well that was stupidly obvious and similar enough, I thought they had about the same weight
I don't know where the item selections came from though now that I notice them
Okay, so I just beat Dark Souls 1 again as a depraved, and I'm on NG+. I mainly handled magic and the Black Knight Sword, which made most of the game a breeze. I'm hoping that if I do get myself to keep going with this character, I can do a new playstyle or weapon set that might work well with my build.
Any suggestions for weapons or items I should get forged to work with this? I feel like there must be better or at least more engaging options besides what I have now (soul arrows/Soul spear and Black Knight Sword).
Oh, I messed up my stats here a little. 30 VIT, not 20.
Yeah, but I've been rocking the Black Knight Sword, and didn't see/know about a weapon that could be better than it through upgrading.
I guess I just feel bad for never deeply exploring a weapon with upgrade paths. You know, lightning, enchantment, chaos, ect.
If you chopped Seath the Moonlight Greatsword is a lot of fun to use and you have decent stats for it. You'll want a backup weapon for magic resistant enemies if you go that route though.
Halberd is fun too.
They're not even 'rushed' they're just flat-out unfinished.
They weren't used in the original game outside of NG+ things Betwixt because they weren't actually done. The tall grass just hid their fucked walk cycle and the encounter lasts all of 10 seconds so you don't have time to notice how broken they were.
People whined that they were a cool enemy and should appear in more places, so From obliged, but never bothered to actually finish them.
Straight halberd is one of the best in it's class. I'm not certain what the best path for you would be, probably either an element of your choice or Raw + 5 and crystal magic weapon.
A lot of people prefer the black knight halberd, but you don't have the STR to one hand it so you'd be missing out on half the move set. Halberds are fun, but you'll want to be careful using them, since if you wiff you'll get a stumble animation.
Fug you, I am a mastar wizaaaaaaarrrrd
I might have the black knight halberd, actually. How many levels am I from using it? Until then, I might focus on the normal halberd and send it down an elemental upgrade path. The new style would probably spice things up.
It sucks in das 2 that the silver black shield only looks good on the right hand. I like how there it curves with your arm, covering it nicely. It just looks awkward on the left hand. If only someone made a retex or something of it to flip it around in SotFS.
If you have them already, maybe try giving the vanilla halberd or the Gargoyle's Halberd a try before dumping a bunch of levels on BKH since you already have the stats for both of those. Also those two being enchantable (on normal or raw path) is a nice advantage for you since you're a magic build.
Hey /dsg/ i'm trying out some new fashion souls and I'm wondering on what to do for some parts of it. Right now I've got it as royal swordsman helm, mad warrior armor/leggings and alonne knight gauntlets. Should I go with alonne knight leggings as well for more poise or just stick with the mw leggings and pick different gauntlets? Here's a visualization: www.fashion-souls.com/?g=m&Head=106&Chest=253&Arms=59&Legs=61
I personally prefer vanilla move set personally because unlike the standard moveset on most other Halberds the R1s have pokes. I'd just equip both and see which you like the moveset best on. They're pretty similar in stats (Gargoyle has a little better base damage, Halberd has a bit better scaling)
Roaring halberd would be good. It scales only on dex and dark, but infuse it with dark and it hits like a truck. Should do well. Or try the silverblack spear, another good choice to keep your distance from the annoying shits in brume.
>farming colorless demon's souls legitimately
nope, fuck that shit
>play DaS for first time since like jan 2014
>speedskills have deteriorated badly
>too impatient to play like a normie
>want to make giant dad for the memes
>fail blighttown drop 5 times in a row
>get stuck inside kellogs and die 2 times due to no BKH stunlock
>fail blighttown drop 2 more times after fucking up chaos ember run
>get gangraped by skeletons in catacombs for 30 minutes due to not remembering how to anything except get to tomb
>die to pendulums in sen's due to failing to remember timings
>fall off rafters 3 times
>fail duke skip 15 times in a row
>get rekt by ghosts at least 10 times because can't just snipe ingward
ayy lmao, forgot how fun this game can be
10/10, would get gangraped by skeletons again
no excuses bud, just having fun with it, one missed skip at a time
I rarely needed much from painted world back in the days so I rarely did Priscilla, but Ingward dies every game tbphf
It only happened once but it was probably the loudest kek in the entire session
It's here between the steps to the main hall and Ornstein's trophy room right now, but I haven't connected to any nodes yet.
>unfinished areas you're forced to play through
des have giant areas that you can't skip once you have played once and you have to do 100% of the game again unless in certain areas where you can glitch the game, every area in das have a quicker way different than des, where even the fast way takes a long time.
>even slower combat
only the magics are slower
>shitty poise system
better poise system
no poise is not a good system. I know you can't be staggered while attacking, but it's still no real poise.
>shitty backstab meta
des backstabs are even more glitched
>large weapons made useless
they aren't, das weaponsa re fine, des large weapons are fucking OP as fuck
Demon souls did not have slow combat lmao. The poise system is alright pve wise because a ton of shit staggers you despite having high poise. Large weapons are pretty damn good in pve and especially pve.
are idiots still responding to buttmad pkeks that never played and never will play demon's souls and bloodborne?
fucking ignore them, let them suffer their dead shit online in dark souls 2, the worst souls game
>whats the difference bewteen that and danbooru?
Danbooru makes you pay to use more than 2 tags at a time in your search, also hides certain images behind said pay wall. User base is slightly different, but for the most part they have the exact same content, just with slightly divergent tagging conventions.
you are forgetting about
>a guy hit you with a knife when you are using full plate armor
it's okay to be staggered by bigger enemies. But fuck these demon's souls wolfs/dogs. it's a pain in the ass to kill them without shield+Mail Breaker
Nothing. It's still full of neckbeards clinging to the nostalgia of their first souls game with a handful of people trying to talk about the game and a few reasonable people who are willing to acknowledge that each entry has made improvements and taken steps back compared to the other games.
bb has no excuse though, most of the combat improvements such as charge attacks and combos stop being useful after old yarhman, because 1.- Poise is like in DeS, 2.- Enemies are always faster than you, 3.- They recover immediately.
Sometimes I feel Miyazaki has no idea of what he is doing, he is clearly a genius when it comes to world design but he is crap at everything else and he is clearly not surrounded by people who can complement him.
what do you mean, i used combos and charge attack on the entire game, the charge attack of the hammer rekt everything, and stunlock almost everything in the game including bosses
And people wonder why Miyazaki gimps invaders
I can't draw but I love the mask of the father too much.
Different guy, but GTA V "never ever" was retarded and anyone who seriously thought it wouldn't be ported is a retard. GTA 4 got a port, so did Max Payne. Why would they not do V?
>6 years since des
>d-d-don't worry pc masterrace, it'll come o-o-one day!
>bloodborne, a game published and funded by SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT
>ever coming out on pc
rev up those petitions!
Replaying Demon's Souls after having abandoned my first run. My world tendency suddenly reset in Boletaria. I don't think that Ostrava died, but there I am, gone from pure white to neutral. Does killing executioner Miralda hurt your world tendency or should I be saying a small prayer for Ostrava?
From what I remember (as in I played last 3 years ago) special enemies like Miralda are "tendency events" that happen at pure (or close to, I can't remember for sure) white/black and once you complete them they push your tendency back towards neutral.
Killing Miralda in body form affects your world tendency by quite a bit. Should be enough to put you at or close to neutral. Basically killing the body form of that world's associated NPC/Phantom sets you back towards black because they always show up at pure white and killing their black phantom form pushes you towards white because they always show up on pure black.
I assume this is meant to make getting to the other extreme slightly less tedious.
If you're worrying about killing Miralda, then chances are you can get the Purple Flame Shield easily, they vanish from that spot after you defeat Phalanx.
Actually, I don't think your world tendency has any affect on that at all.
God, I am so glad that world/character tendency never returned to any future games. Same could be said for item burden.
Nah, they're totally back. That's actually what made me realize that my world tendency was fucked.
It's a really neat idea, but its execution was a bit off. Item burden can fuck right off.
Really? Maybe it does affect them: When I went to go get that shield I was totally prepared to do a death run, but I found nothing there. It's an awesome shield too, really helped against Flamelurker.
I wonder how they could have implemented it better? It's a rather tedious system, and really easy to screw up to a point of being unable to fix it.
Yeah, fuck item burden. No one tells me I can't carry all my shit on me! I don't want to have to travel back to the Nexus every time I want to switch out a single piece of equipment.
The first time I had a host pop a seed on me in Dragon Shrine, I had no idea the invader could end up aggro-ing the dragon knights as well if he ignored the Drakekeepers.
Well that's exactly what I did and as I got to the bonfire, the host was blocking the stairs. I had no idea I had dragged half the map along with me (and apparently neither did the host) but I wanted to get past him so I forced my past and then turned around just in time to watch the host get backstabbed by one of the dragon knights. Good times.
Just getting summoned for Fume. Pretty active tonight, done half a dozen or so successful kills.
Ok, i think I know why dark souls 2 is being fucking shit for me, and its because for some reason I take too much damage and I don't deal enough of it.
Yes, all my standard equipment is fully upgraded
I'm trying to get better gear by grinding some of the enemies but its hard to when they kill me in one hit anyway.
>I am so glad that world/character tendency never returned to any future games
>It's a really neat idea, but its execution was a bit off
Personally I would really like to see something like world tendency come back if they could actually implement it well.
If you look at the bonfire select screen, the areas with an orange border around the image indicate the highest concentrations of players in your SM range for online activity.
Damn near everyone whose invaded me in DaS has won (save for exactly fat-rolling knight-set guy), but whenever my host gets invaded during co-op I fucking obliterate those red dicks.
I don't understand sometimes.
I'm using a standard longsword and the chaos rapier, which I'm guessing are the absolute wrong weapons for ever because I can't do shit with them.
Armor is Hexer's hood, falconer armor, dragon blood gauntlets and alva leggings.
as stated, all are at their highest possible reinforcement
Currently trying to take on Sir Alonne, not with the chaos rapier because I think he has fire resistance.
I haven't fought Alonne myself so I don't know exactly how he works, but a quick glance at the Wikidot shows the Chaos Rapier even fully upgraded doesn't do a great deal of damage AND that Alonne is highly resistant to the fire damage that it happens to do. What I tell most people is, grab a mace and upgrade it. It will carry you damn near through the whole game.
If you've got attunment slots to spare and you can't use any other buffs effectively, go for it. It's free extra damage that lasts the full 90 seconds with a good amount of casts, and if you're using a dex weapon with rapid attacks the more damage per hit you can do the better.
Hmm, I dunno, I never really had any huge issue with her. She still gets those pyromancers who'll appear partway through the fight, so having a summon along (even what's-her-face) is handy if you just want to get it done.
Lucatiel! Damn, how did I forget that.
low sm invader
Is it possible to get Patches to come to firelink while Lautrec is still around? I would think so, since you can kill pinwheel and access the first part of TotG before ringing either bell, or getting two firekeeper souls. Do they have special dialogue?
Are greatshields going to have Weaboo Fightan Magic battle arts in DaS3?
Sweet. Here's a song for you:
I'd rather you make me proud by
beating me instead
What I want to know is whether you can even equip shields in your right hand (and use them DS2 style), or if you can have a weapon in both left and right hands and be able to access both weapons battle arts.
Why the fuck are you spamming this shit Chazo?
There are actually different stagger tiers in BB. Heavy weapons like the kirkhammer have the highest stagger and you can do perpetual limb breaks on bosses to effectively stunlock them.
Hes not lying
Oh, damn. I thought you only needed to complete his event in the tomb, not kill nito as well. Thanks bud.
put those 55k souls into dex
You act as if a weapon ring swap isn't possible. Maybe you're just shit. I've pulled off a weapon, hat, ring swap, and a weapon double ring swap before, but only once each, but it is doable with practice.
>better than spotted whip cus better moveset
>tfw you remember the power of 1hit full gauge pre-nerf double spotted whip builds
I dueled and beat yukas a couple times, back when he streamed fights with his viewers ion DkS2. Beat me a couple times back.
I also remember once I was summoned as a red to someone and he invaded the moment I killed the host. We waved at each other and went our separate ways.
Fought against Abyssal Gravelord's estoc build with this and won.
Anyone with a 960 struggling to play ds1? I'm getting 15-24fps at the asylum demon. I can't find any info either. First time with nVidia, I'm used to being able to much around with settings with AMD but I don't see the option with the software that came with the 960.
Damnit, I'm not the only one who thought of this build. Instead, I use a channeler's trident and use the H1R2. Takes less dexterity to get instant poison on the player then, so I can spend the rest on other stats.
>Playing Das1 for the first time
>Going through Anor Londo
>Fighting the assholes in the room above the painted world
>Decide to take out my bow, adjust my aim, fire
>Knock cunt right off with a headshot
This game is so much fucking fun holy shit
Is there a reason not to pick this option if you wanna get dat ass without using CE? Will it mess with armors in a bad way? I'm most likely gonna use Gwyndolin's poncho top.
It's just fucking jarring having already played vanilla DaS2. I can just access less of the game than I used to until later on and I can't fathom why they thought this would be a positive change.
Is that meant to be Heide's Tower over there? That's way too fucking far away from where it should actually be given the geography. This game's sense of scale is all fucked up compared to the first.
depends what you're gonna use it for, most people use them as a secondary to roll backstab, if you're gonna use it for that the I'm pretty sure the bandit knife is a good choice.
also because there is way more statues in SotFS, especially in the area before Scorpioness Najka.
tfw only one Fragrant Branch of Yore is required to finish the game. Just git gud you naab
Ha, just looked into it some more. All everyone is really saying is, "If you want to be disappointed, take the pick".
Any chance do you know why the dragon sword is what people recommend for a caster?
Because they now block off most of the estus flask shards while Syan's guard bone dust.
You still only need the 1 to beat the game, shame they had to go about in such a jarring way but it does make the overall game better by making 1 room deadend sidepaths into optional upgrade rooms.
24th march? is this confirmed?!?!
IS THIS PIC 4 REAL ?
Nvm found it.
Is this table up to date?
Also does Watchdog do anything about people that use CE for appearance edits only?
Okay, I guess my english is broken as fuck. Let me explain with more details :
>why are dual bandit knives so good
that rethorical question implies bandit knives are really good weapons
>Because it's easy af to parry
badly said I know, but I really meant :
>Bandit knives are really good, yes, but to compensate, bandit knives are also really easy to counter if you pull a parry.
>why are dual bandit knives so good
>to cross the road
Well I guess it's time for me to learn how to use Cheat engine.
You need weapons that can apply enough poise damage to deplete the poise of the enemy in question. Big heavy weapons apply lots at once, small weapons apply small amounts quickly.
>This feeble cursed one doesn't know about the arena
You know I was just looking at your post thinking Sen's Castle doesn't sound right, then I realised I've been calling it Sen's Funhouse for so long I've forgotten what it's actually called.
I was ganking in the forest with a friend from college, who also happens to be a moderator in Yukas' Twitch chat. I was relatively new to PvP'ing but I did manage to find a pretty overpowered build that had Power Within and a Painting Guardian Sword with Darkmoon Blade. As soon as I saw his name pop-up I got all excited to kill him on stream, so I activated both spells, ran up to him and spammed R1 attacks and killed him within a few seconds. Then Yukas got all salty, calling me out on spamming R1 and then the friend I was ganking with from college got pissed at me for making him look like an asshole in front of the entire stream.
i appeared on a meme video being killed by a guy while i was waiting the elevator in oolacile, i didn't even moved, i he was using DMB or something like this and killed me super fast
Seriously I don't get it. I'm pretty much a noob and I started off with a swordsman and scimitar. I got a warped sword then suddenly get tons of hatemail for r1 running attacks and just being near r1 in general. I only started using the damn sword for the powerstance r2 but I suck too much to use it in pvp, though I still try.
I really like having the longsword on the offhand while in Knight's set, it really looks like I'm a wandering undead.
The same things thats so bad about using miracles/sorceries/armor/ADP/attunement/DEX/VIT/STR/END/weapons/torches/levels/souls/items/the main menu/your PC(or console of choice)/water/air/the planet earth
It's shitters being upset that other people are not bowing to their imaginary code of honor in a multiplayer pvp game, hilariously enough the people that get most upset over certain tactics can never win with said things, and its all excused away with "But I'm better than those guyse walking on legs, I crawl around on my stomach like a real man, walking is too easy"
Show me one vid where yukas gets salty.
upgrading is for casuls
i never upgraded any weapon in des
88AGI master race.
I laugh when I see other players spill their spaghetti because they can't time their rolls if they have sub 100AGI and blame the game for their panic-rolling.
I can show you a thread where he gets salty
