yeah just found it before you sent it,
Cammy's LK divekick combos from any weight now, even when hitting you at the top of your char's head (except for birdie, he's too tall).
Also good luck trying to anti-air her ex divekick or the vtriggered one
>still not posting best melty
Jesus christ anon
Honestly, considering that you won't have a Critical Art every round (unlike in SFIV where you get an Ultra every round), it's not so bad. What annoys me is that every Critical Art except Ryu and Dhalsim's are cinematics that kick in as soon as they land. I suppose the more creative ideas were instead made into V-Triggers (Rashid, Gief, Mika, Vega), but still it's a lot.
i'm not sure of what i see cupid don't fuck with me
are you telling me this is a sign
oops, I posted my reply in the dead thread.
The issue is they space them so that if you jab immediately/dp, they block it because they are blocking the first frame. theres such a minute window that it seems to always work.
backdash/tech are passive reactions and lead to getting cornered, this is what i already do on my rose. This is actually why i only play rose ATM, because I haven't figured out how to beat these sporadic
non-combo attacks that aren't blockstrings.
all right, so I need to maintain patience and just back off/block until we are both neutral. Its so E Z to punish it with rose ex spiral through I was wondering if any1 else in the cast can mash an invincible move that reaches further than average shoto DP. I know seth has EX DP but thats super unsafe on block, whereas rose can get away with an ex spiral at a far enough range.
thanks, i didn't know those were what frametraps are (no sarcasm). everyone I face online from 0pp to 2000pp constantly uses frame traps (i reset my rank yesterday to try new characters). I get wrekt by them on ANY character except rose because I can max an ex soul spiral for an easy knockdown, and its hard for scrubs to punish.
I'll play way more calm and defensive after you guys explained it more. It kills me to get in with akuma/gief/eryu, and because i suck, i just get jabbed away 9 out of 10 times.
I've lost so many games to frametraps at all levels that i raged back to rose.
I feel like if I want to contest them with whiff punish, I have to understand what normals punish which attacks, which is a tremendous investment on a 2nd char.
CAs are honestly closer to ultras in this game than supers in everything else, you can just super cancel. They're as slow as ultras and juggle like (good) ultras.
Being slow is pretty crap too, considering they build about the same rate as in IV. Like in IV with Chun Li EX SBK was a crap reversal but if you were patient you got a super that could reversal anything. In V EX SBK is still crap and not using it gets you a super that's even worse.
Redpill me on SFIV, /fgg/. Why do you guys hate it?
If you're interested in playing an ArcSys fight game, BlazBlue isn't a bad choice to start with. If it's too hard, there's the generally easier fighter Persona, on the other end you can pick up Xrd. There's an ingame tutorial & challenge, I imagine they help newcomers a bit.
Why are capcom dickriders blaming the pc community for leaking the roster? Or better question, how hard is it to not put those assets into the beta? It's like they didn't learn from the SFxT pay to win gem crap
the update has been failing for me but not every 2 minutes. sometimes it happens a few minutes apart and then I'll go an hour without it failing.
it's a small price to pay anon.
>get matched with some asshole with 3000BP
>only have 300 BP/PP
What the fuck is this shit
>that feel when you look at people with thousands of BP but 3 digit PP and realize you could play forever and still be terrible like them
I should just play other video games
Unless urien gets purple clothing it wouldnt make any sense
And that also reminds me, what about different colors?
Does purple karin gets purple and yellow?
start out with something in fightcade. they're all free to play so you can choose what games you want to play without wasting money not knowing if you're going to like them or not.
most older fighting games aren't as complex so you don't have to stress your tiny little brain out thinking about how to play as much.
KOF absolutely not
Blazblue meh, I'd argue no as well but I'm sure people would say otherwise
BP is literally "how long and how many wins do you have with character". That's why you can see absolute shitters with high BP and low PP. They just scrub out guys that don't know how to play and constantly accumulate since you don't lose much BP after losing
BB was designed to be pretty newbie friendly, although P4A went even further than that to make it playable for RPG fans.
Problem is that BB is now old enough and has had so many fucking rereleases the player base and the games have gotten more hardcore and you will likely get facefucked online without knowing a lot of stuff.
SEGA should have the Virtua Fighter team make a Yakuza game that's similar to VF. It'd sell better than an actual VF game would, and would probably get localized since fighting games don't have a lot of text.
Or they could have the VF team make Sonic The Fighters 2 for even more sales.
sanic kart had to resort to characters that nobody has cared about in 20+ years, "that other girl from space channel 5 that isn't ulala" and dumb shit like danica patrick to pad a roster that wasn't just sonic and his friends
USFIV, at least for the past 6 weeks or so. I'm starting to get a hang of the basics, although I haven't delved too far into combos or the technical side yet. The main problem is I hate the visuals and the character designs so I'm finding it tedious to sit down and play. I wouldn't mind jumping over to something more appealing like GG or KoF.
mvc2 was the game where i could beat all my friends asses for free and everyone in school
then i went to ctf for the first time and my eyes were opened and i realized i was ASS
soul calibur 3
i played soul calibur 1 and 2 by myself but didnt have a bunch of other people to play against until my first year of college, which was the same year soul calibur 3 came out
Tell him you think they are shit. Money match them for as much as you can afford. If you get to play you get money and if he backs out then he admits he is a subhuman that should kill himself.
How do I play against them?
Probably both. Only gimmicks I have gotten better at dealing with are Seth gimmicks.
How do I anti-air? I feel like every time I try it end up losing. At best I get a trade at worse I lose. I also feel the risk of even attempting to dp as anti-air is too much and it makes me hesitate unless I have meter to guarantee success.
I play Poison by the way.
Make it a ft10, you won't get randomed out enough to lose a long set unless you're a just a shitter with a big mouth and not actually in any position to criticize his garbage.
If you can't beat him then maybe you are the subhuman gorilla mashing idiot.
Of course you would beat him with a character you play and he doesn't. Why don't you beat him at his own game instead? If it takes no skill to gorilla mash Ibuki then you should have no trouble getting your money.
After Fan, who's likely got a big part in the story, and then they'll start showing details of the story after him to fill up the time between that reveal and launch.
The DLC characters playing a part in the story would at least excuse why they're already modeled and in the beta files. That said, I doubt that Guile, Balrog, Juri, and Urien won't have a part in the story.
the thing is I do beat him free when he tries to play ibuki honestly (lol) then he realizes this and goes full gorilla mash taking advantage of the fact that I don't know what's punishable which I admit. Considering paying chris g to teach me the MU desu and then taking his money
They could do the story mode in episodic installments over time. Nice way to keep the casuals coming back, you could even sell each chunk of the story for $5/Fight Money or something.
you don't know what's punishable?
lmao sf4 is 7 years old senpai the setups and frame data has been out since forever even for ultra
if you've played this guy more than once it's on you to figure out how to beat him
I know I don't know the matchup I was just venting frustration. Gonna get trained up and I'll make sure to post the MM vod of me shitting on the gorilla masher for you all to see what I'm talking about
>tekken, and guilty gear just got games
>people were still playing marvel 2 to the level where that big money match wouldn't even happen for another few years
>tons of people outside of america were playing SNK games on GGPO or in person
>people were still playing ST, 3S CVS2 and the alpha games
all 09ers did is make the fgc bigger, not better, unless you were one of those eternal shitters that could finally beat up xbox live players to feel good about themselves.
Is this artist the same sicko who draw lolishit?
So.. Maybe... Alright. Here me out. Joe returns and gets new moves and a updated look? I also don't remember Joe throwing rocks or having a knife, I may need to go replay SF1.
It actually doesn't look to bad. Still the yellow looks like shitty mustard. I might get it. I don't have a stick and need one.
>people literally quit when I select v-ism
can someone explain this
>give him a run back
If my buttons start kinda start to stick a little bit, is it time to switch them?
One of my buttons tends to jam maybe once every couple weeks or so but I don't want to open it up since I'm neither familiar with working with the insides of a stick nor do I have the time to do so
Learn to open the stick and remove the parts. You'll need to do that to replace them anyway. Take the cap off of the offending button and see if there's any junk in there or deformed plastic
Hurm... There anywhere I can find the source of this without being forced to take a look at his other fucking atrocities ?
why did capcom put in a character that is literally the worst in any sf game?
sim is going to be low tier. his buttons are shit, his moves are shit, he can't combo without his shitty vskill and thats telegraphs so hard, his vtrigger you can just jump out of, lol he does no damage
meanwhile mika can take you out in two combos and get super armor on a fucking move she doesnt need it with lmao
Do we have one of those official movelists that they put next to SFV setups for Dhalsim yet?
he was strong in the vs games as well and vanilla and super versions of 4
it was only in later versions of 4 that he got progressively worse
like that other guy said don't reply to idiots
except v-ism isnt even broken
and playing sfa3 without vism just feels like a slow and gimped ST
Jesup stop posting all these figniting game girls, even time I see these pictures I want to throw the girls on the bed and fuck their brains out, however they aren't real so I can. This shit is eternal teasing
Xrd is the first time I'm watching match videos for pointers and reading up on frame data, character changes between sign and revelator, and generally doing all of my homework for.
Somehow I didn't realize how much better of a job SFV does of feeling like a decent fighting game until I tried to play SFIV again.
Like I really dislike SFV's weak projectiles and crappy knockdowns and stuff but between that, a less retarded combo system, and netcode it's still way more enjoyable to play.
At least I can keep shitposting about both games I guess.
both games are awful for beginners, blazblue is considered a joke among the fgc, most airdash players consider it bottom of the barrel tier and the only people who play it are weebs with no idea how to do anything except training room grinding.
kof xiii is solid, kof 98 is better and free though, as well as more beginner friendly. kof xiii has a stupid custom combo system, kof 98 just has power mode.
put ralf as anchor, break stock at round start, mash c - how to start winning at kof 98
>It's confirmed that Akuma won't be in SFV until at least 2017
Just fuck my roster up.
I mostly agree, but
>The music is ass
Some of that music was fucking amazing, man.
mark of the wolves
pre 2014 (yes, I started with fighters in 2014 with mark of the wolves) I only played smash casually and masturbated to soul calibur.
then I started playing mark of the wolves on mame with a ps3 pad against the computer.
something clicked, I bought an arcade stick, now I only play super turbo on fightcade lmao
>the only people who play it are weebs with no idea how to do anything except training room grinding.
Admittedly I haven't been paying attention, but did the NA BB scene suddenly learn how to not drop combos in the last couple years or something
and sfv's gameplay is complete ass
netcode has been ass with rollback shit
graphics are spupose t to be next gen but they arent
music is grating, probably worst remixes in the series ever even more so than sf4
menus are so barebones i thought it was a powerpoint
already confirmed on disc DLC for new characters after they confirmed they wouldnt do that again
gems Ill give you
sfv is way more ass
how to be good at street fighter:
spam fireball until the enemy gets close
dp if they jump at you, otherwise just block until they start applying pressure
mash dp while blocking, let the game decide when to block and when to go through with the dp
a lot of your complaints seem to be subjective. I say a lot because there isn't any code for the ACTUAL characters on disc. just some voice-overs and other misc. data. if there were actual character data beyond that we'd already have models for the DLC character..
>netcode has been ass with rollback shit
>graphics are spupose t to be next gen but they arent
Welcome to eight gen you illiterate idiot
>Worst remixes since SF4
Maybe if you're a Bison main
The datamined characters don't even have moves in or models
its getting sad but hes probably getting the 2 week extension
He should've announced that at the start, what a dickhead.
Why didn't he just use the millions he made from skullgirls to fund indivisible? He should be thankful that he got free money the first time
anybody else physically wince when someone tells you ggs but it wasnt ggs it was bgs but you type ggs anyway?
Actually, I'm pretty sure the whole point is that the characters won't be completed by release
Goddamn, you're the dumbest tripfag on this general
/it's funny cause today the Indivisible prototype was put up on the PSN store. They'll be fine for funding. Their publishers are 505 games.
He's just looking for attention.
It's easiest to understand in SFxT.
A normal juggle state is a 10 (hypothetically)
Every move is a different negative number, when it gets to 0 or below, if you can't juggle.
Switch canceling resets the juggle number
That faggot spamming for Maki must be cumming buckets.
Let the speculation begin.
Anyone have any good guesses as to what the V-Skill and V-Triggers for the first 6 DLC characters are going to be?
I can see Juri getting a version of her Feng Shui engine as her V-Trigger since a lot of other characters have temporary steroid triggers as well.
It's hard to imagine Urien without an Aegis Reflector, but since I doubt that will be his Critical Art, he'll probably get it as a V-Trigger.
I think it'd be interesting to see Alex get his Stun Gun Headbutt as his Trigger.
What do you guys think?
watching maki drown at the continue screen was kind of hot
I suppose I'm glad that it's just 2.5D instead of full 3D. Holy fuck those models and those animations just look so mediocre. Leona and Chang are also the weirdest two characters to show off out of anybody. Why not show Ralf and Kim if you're going to show characters from those teams?
alex will get geese-style counter grabs as his v-skill
guile will get illusions like chizuru from kof, flash kicks will be hdr style
the other four v-skills are going to be derpy anti-fireball bullshit
What the fuck kind of link is this shit? Link it properly you dingleberry
Also the graphics still look like the same shitty graphics, ugh
But at least the gameplay looks like it'll go back to standard KOF98-ish style
Because Leona is sexy, duh
Dunno about Chang though
>PC gamers pulled more data from the SFV PC beta
>Basically have unofficial confirmation on the DLC characters
>Alex and Juri are in there
you're a little late
I know this is a poor b8 and people actually believe it so I have to mention that the SFxT on disc DLC was found on the 360 version.
you can data mine anything.
Fuck the Milia blocker.
The M40 sniper rifle has a muzzle velocity of 777m/s, or 12.95m/1ms. Standing at ~390m out, you have 0.5s to dodge a round. Dodge it senpai.
I can't see Juri's V Skill being anything but her feng shui engine
I was down for waiting on learning who was getting announced, but it is kinda nice to know
I'm not on top of things like I use to be
>alex will get geese-style counter grabs as his v-skill
Balrog has TAP for V-Skill, can combo after headbutts and increased stun on moves
Ibuki's V-Skill is a smoke bomb that can be cancelled into a dash which goes through the opponent and her V-Trigger has her make a shadow clone that mirrors her actions.
Guile's V-Skill is his upsidedown kick which is an overhead and causes crush counter. V-Trigger is double sonic booms.
You're not meant to actually be able to beat Milia Blocker though. The whole purpose of Milia Blocker is to show you that supposedly 'godlike reactions' are mostly due to good reads. Nobody can actually consistently block Millia's mixups on reaction.
Its only when you remove the human element from the equation with Milia Blocker that these things become crystal clear in the minds of stubborn people.
What if Guile's V-trigger made sonic boom
a motion, with the same frame data
should be posting on topic
I'm praying that the shitty animation and model quality ensures that we'll get a fuckhuge cast that will make everyone happy
I really just don't know what they're doing at this point
are there any good videos about learning 3S in general? both system and character specific stuff
ive been playing as ibuki, oro, necro and ryu mostly and i think theres just general things im missing about the game.
They're hardly skilled at the game but you should watch
Best Friends Fisticuffs: 3rd Strike. They love the game, explain some very basic mechanics, and you can learn a few things, like some target combos, by watching them
They're probably thinking of how to make a KOF game on a lower budget but still have a big enough cast so fans don't pull a no Mai no buy again.
Yeah I remember how no one bought those games too.
His V-Trigger should allow him to KO with chip damage using his specials. That alone would give him a decent advantage, but you could up the damage/starup on Sonic Boom/Flash Kick for the duration as well.
alex v skill is just a legdrop, but it's really powerful because it's him doing it
he also says racist things in his taunts of course because that was necessary to be there as a reference to hulk hogan unlike the other things alex does
juri's v-skill is foot fetish shit (foot fetish sucks and is dumb)
ibuki v-skill is being a slut, which isn't different from how she usually is but in the v-skill she says "slut no jutsu" to make it a ninja move
urien's v skill is he pees on the opponent
boxer's v skill is he kicks
and guile's v skill is just putting his shades on
>and guile's v skill is just putting his shades on
That is extremely powerful jesus!
>leave because I have a life
>anons still raging at their game getting insulted
wow you guys really need to step away from your computers. thats really pathetic and kind of sad
anyway, the contents are on the disc, there will be more in the next beta, and it contradicts what capcom said about not starting development until after release.
but keep eating that shit up tho
i wish SF5 was out. is there a decent fighting game on pc to play until its out?
i quit SF4 for good today (except with friends) because im just so tired of fighting people that pick dudley and yun, then mash out frametraps that cant be punished -- then cornering me and mashing more until the game ends.
It's not fun, whether I win or lose. It's a fucking nightmare to play around them and the other player is on autopilot, so it's like fighting an AI instead of a player. I've never played such an unfun competitive game in my life.
Its really funny you think SFV won't have things that can be abused and will be abused in online play just as much. But whatever, keep believing SFV is some magic panacea
You should watch the ibuki primer and if you want to play other characters these are pretty good in general to understand some basic stuff https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1moMaAEL0HfIsHsRYWMy7NAqnilhh13_
I can't obviously cover everything so some really basic shit about footsies and good things to throw out
-EX DP (rising kick thing) is a decent reversal and can be made basically safe with SA1 even on whiff if you use the DP motion as part of the super motion
-Slide (down-forward medium kick) is very good, can be used to do things like parry first part of a multi-hitting projectile then you just slide to go under it (works on everything except Akuma SA1), approaching, going under jump-ins...
-Jumping straight up is a pretty good option in neutral, you can throw out kunai close to the ground to keep the opponent at a distance or do your heavy punch -> toward medium kick target combo which is godlike
-Parrying a jump-in, then using HK, time MK on falling enemy -> cancel the normal into command dash (lk) is very good
-Ibuki's EX moves are mostly very useful so SA1 is what you want for the meter (SA1 is also good, does a shit ton of chip damage)
-Ibuki's throw range is garbage but her walkspeed is not and throwing is a very big part of your gameplan
-Abuse toward + HK on opponents that aren't too small to be hit by it crouching from afar (there are a lot of stupid hitbox things with Ibuki vs certain characters, better get used to changing your moves depending on the enemy). Does a fuck ton of stun and damage, Akuma killer move.
Probably missing some things but let's posts this for now
>counterhit some mashy Vega player 5 times in a row with Cammy's s.MK
>he finally stops pressing buttons
>walkup throw and he's stunned
I'll check out some melty blood
I simply lack the patience against this type of player. I once beat a guy 3 times that played like this, then I just closed the game because it was exhausting and felt horrendously tedious trying to break my way through his nonstop mixup of true and false strings.
I've lost all motivation to improve, despite lots of recent improvement. I've been playing since april and I'm starting to hate the game the more I play ranked and encounter these 2000pp autopilot players that don't adjust to anything. Every 30th person I fight is fun and I add them.
What I'm trying to say is this: It feels like there are certain characters in this game that can be used to "turn off" 90% of the game and turn it into a guessing game. even "legit footsies" characters like yun can pressure with such intensity, they can just mix true and false blockstrings together and abuse your lack on 1-5 frame response. They can be ass at 90% of the game and hit 2500pp playing like shit. You can see this shit on excellent adventures all the time.
I don't give 2 shits about abusing gimmicks online, they are easy to beat in sf4. I have serious issues with frametraps having 1 or 2 frame punish windows, especially if i have to input a DP, SPD, ultra etc. Even a backdash is fucking ridiculous unless you're mashing it.
SF5 has input buffering during a block string, so this sloppy pseudo button mashing won't do shit anymore.
SF5 will have blockstring input buffering, so my inputs will stop getting dropped 70% of the time -- I won't have to pick a character with a mashable reversal online. I can counter with a jab without being 1 frame to early or late.
Do you skip all footsies and just do infinite block strings into frame traps as well? Do you enjoy these dudley or dudley-esque matchups?
>SF5 will have blockstring input buffering, so my inputs will stop getting dropped 70% of the time -- I won't have to pick a character with a mashable reversal online. I can counter with a jab without being 1 frame to early or late.
SFIV has buffered reversals you dipshit.
>can't deal with people mashing buttons
Are you playing Makoto? If no then mash some reversal in their face, because if they are mashing this many buttons im sure a reversal is goin to stop em
>Guile is Nash with a good flash kick
I'm fine with most of KoF characters lots of them I'd like to play and many others I like in some ways even if I don't care their gameplay.
But Chang is just a fat fuck that should choke on his ball.
>tfw you actually believed that fake leak posted here that implicated Q
>tfw you were totally fine with him never showing up again
>tfw realizing it was an obvious fake made you realize you really do want him at some point
I don't play either character but I've got like a billion hours in Skullgirls so I'll try to help.
First off, assists you'll want either Napalm Pillar or Napalm Shot for Parasoul and MK or LK Hornet Bomber for Double.
Parasoul's biggest strength is her strong mid-range control with Tears and giant fucking disjointed normals of doom. Her usual approach is to frustrate the opponent with fireballs and then, when they try to move forward you go in on them with either j.LP buffered into j.HP or dash forward cr.LK buffered into cr.MK. She also has the best air throw in the game and meterless conversions off of her ground throw from anywhere on the stage.
Her dashes are amazing and let you move forward quickly while pressing buttons or blocking. Also don't neglect dash-jumping. If you cancel a dash into a forward jump or super jump the dash gains additional momentum. She can threaten to be up in your opponent's face at any given moment.
Once you're in you've got two standing overheads, a standing low, 2 more comboable lows and an excellent command crossup so she has no trouble opening up her opponents.
Her main weaknesses are shitty damage and weak air mobility.
I made an error and the correct command dash to use in that situation is MK, usually LK is better (for example meaty MK -> lk version of command dash into throw is good)
Enjoy ninjaslut footsies daily tho senpai
3s but then more so SFIV... which is an endless struggle. I know for a fact that I'm better than people who have been playing for years but my game is still missing some aspects.
a lot of those combos are weird or not used for reasons but they all work and it's a start
keninblack is the only one who plays that team and idk if he still does
this is the closest to that I could find where he performs well
imo in the current game put double on point though instead of parasoul
for double prob. watch dekillsage or maybe duckator but I think he's dropped double on and off
just learn to finish combos and watch videos of play and try to figure out what's going on and understand the decision making
Did I say mashing? apologies, I meant a bunch of true blockstrings spaced with frame traps. I'm not talking about simple shit like sakuras tatsu combo or akumas fireball standing roundhouse pressure. My issue isnt button mashing, that's beginner shit and it's easy as fuck to counter.
I'm talking about a yun that can get in, and he plays like such a chaotic mess that he drops approx a quarter of his combos on a light attack, then goes back in and does it, then stops after 2 hits but remains OK because hes holding block so hes immune to a mash punish, starts another combo, pseudo instant dive kicks into light light medium again etc etc etc.
This is not an intentional frame trap. A lot of players -- especially newer players -- are subconsciously using frame traps because they're fucking hard to punish, but they've really just found a "safe" way to button mash while holding block and not pressing buttons outside of black range.
shit, what do i do now
DPs get blocked because players leave a frame or 2 for you to try to DP. Most frame traps need to be jabbed out of, but getting a jab to come out is a fucking nightmare when your opponent is borderline random. Its 3 major variables: When will the opponent stop the block string, how many frames before they start the pressure again, and what attack will they start it with. Sometimes I try to medium punch, whoops it got stuffed by a different normal. Sometimes i wait a second then light punch, whoops it got stuffed. If I fuck up i get to watch another barrage of pressure.
ill still try it it out. Where do I buy it, do most just pirate it?
