>DARK SOULS 2
Yeah just found an article on it from google. Seems that the info was released between Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory king. I'd assume the rates have gone up significantly as people have learned the fights. I'm kind of surprised to see Sinh on there, maybe it was just my setup but he went down fast with minimum fuss the first time I fought him blind in NG.
>red phantom alt+f4-ed to avoid dying
why would anyone do this?
is co-op dead on sotfs or something
was I too late on getting this game should I just ce my loyce souls
I have an itch to go back and finish DaS1, but I have a few questions.
-For physique, is it alright to go large lower body, or does it really fuck with armor to go anything but average?
-If I want to make a cleric-style character, is it better overall to start with the actual cleric class, or go deprived and just level myself towards becoming a cleric?
Any other general tips that could prove of use?
>pvping for awhile
>every match is someone parry fishing
>cant ever backstab them but they're always able to backstab me to the point of my teleporting back to them
>cant use any fun weapons
>just decide to roll with 2h a UGS and gowers ring/jester top
>winning but not having fun because I want to do powerstance poison rapiers or bleed twinblade and fun stuff
dark souls 3 when
What's your SM?
Activity in the dlc areas varies wildly by SM bracket. Most of my DLC area invasion characters can't co-op there at all, but I find plenty of activity on some of my other, higher SM characters.
Yeah, for the most part the only people you'll catch for co-op at 2mil are people that are just rushing through the game on their nth playthrough or unironically making a pvp build without CE.
Why am i obsessed with the sun?
Every game i play i try to represent the covenant.
I just want to do sun things and kill things with solar damage. I even played a shitty game like destiny once and used nothing but heart of the praxic fire.
Help. For a person like me who likes the sun so much, i never actually go outside and see the real thing. I just want to help people and do sun things.
>finally get around to starting my first run through DaS1 after beating the other installments countless times, pretty high standards going in
>everything going great, all expectations definitely being exceeded
>wonder what problems anyone could have with the game or more specifically the player base
>get to the burg/parish and ass raped about every five minutes by twinks with late game gear, lightning weapons, lag, ohko back stabs, and "LOL U MAD U MAD BRO XD!?!?" messages galore
>playing through dark souls as a hollow
>you are being invaded
>uuh i am so scared
>alt f4 and open the game again
>salty because people don't want ganked
you don't even know what being ganked means you fucking pussy
>Face it most invaders are stronger than you.
so what? that don't means you can't win, you can even kill hackers with unlimited health.
The only time it's too late to do something is if you're purposefully gimping yourself for the sake of PVP/co-op. If you're just going to play the PVE element of the game, go as far as ya want.
20 Faith will get you Lightning Spear
30 Faith will get you Great Lightning Spear
If you go to 30 now, that'll bring you to SL107, which is still fine for standard PvP
You do have to temporarily join the Sunlight covenant to get them btw
Lmao I get people pulling the plug on me all the time and I really don't blame them. If that's how they want to deal with twinks then let them. It's now like you get honor points or some bullshit for not doing it and I doubt they care that anonyderp on Souls general will judge them.
>struggling with blighttown
>close to the second bonfire
>INVADED BY MANEATER MILDRED
>INVADED BY LICKMYNUTS52
>never play the game again
I'd rather not lose progress that I didn't deserve to lose, one thing that I like about the Souls games is the fact that they usually have pretty fair deaths. You fell off, your fault. You got hit by the boss, your fault. You get invaded by some dick with a chaos +5 weapon? Not your fault.
There's literally no way to tell if it will be a fair fight or he has a fully upgraded weapon.
mildred is a ultra weak npc and drop 5 humanity+weapon and offers summon in the next boss
i bet you play ds2
>not be a retard
>realize i haven't progressed enough and don't have the appropriate gear to fight with those who might be ahead
>go hollow or offline mode
>proceeding to upgrade weapons and find better gear
>go back online or human
but no, keep on getting ganked
I agree with this guy for the most part. I can't stand these games' PVP so I did the thing the game's developers made so and just stayed hollow. The few times that I did encounter invaders, it was pretty much just them teleporting around due to shitty connections and killing me so fuck it.
You ventured through Blighttown in human form before killing Quelaag
Let's go through that one more time
You went through an area in human form before killing the boss
Once more, with passion
You went through a new area without knowing what you're doing, in human form

>Increases damage with weapons with Humanity scaling (i.e. Weapons in Chaos upgrade path, Chaos Blade, Quelaag's Furysword, and Abyss Greatsword)
>Increase Item Discovery
>Increase Curse Resist
hmmmmmmmmmmm i wonder
it was hypothetical shitlords but it could happen
I guess new players should read guides
Did I ever mention DeS style lighting
I thinkis still in the game?
soft humanity is active in hollow form
the defense and resistance gains, Chaos scaling, and Item Discovery have nothing to do with the "reverse hollowing" command
you have no idea what you're talking about
Nice copy/past from the Wiki. It's important to note that all the stat bonuses (weapon scaling, item discover, curse resist, etc.) take place just by having soft humanity in the upper-left counter. You do NOT need to be in human form for those to work. So the first item is purely cosmetic and the kindling can be done, then intentionally killing yourself so you have all those extra Estus while maintaining hollow's invasion-free status.

>>Kindle a Bonfire
never did on my first time i didn't knew it were a thing
>>Added to the summation of stat points when determining all defenses. Therefore, more Humanity directly equals more defense (99 humanity will give you approximately 50 more defense in all categories)
you are actually losing humanity by becoming in human form you faget
>it was hypothetical shitlords but it could happen
I guess new players should read guides
You need to read a guide to understand that you can't be invaded if you aren't in human form? it's your fault if you don't want to look like sausage not the game's fault
>no I want to play the character I made not a dried jerky version
kill the invaders
he only respawns if you leave after killing him. also he killed me a lot of times and he was still there, niga was 1 shotting me.
I don't care about your Alt+F4, friendo. I hate PVP in these games. We're addressing your complaints about getting invaded because you don't like to play as Lordran's favorite Slim Jim warrior.
yes, it took me like 10 minutes to kill him, i had to make him get plague with baby's nail like 5 times and waited his death
the brandt gives him resistance to plague, so it takes a lot of time for him to die
Don't worry, it's just butthurt autists that can't keep up in p v p, but they'II never get their way and there's nothing they can do to keep us from posting whatever we want :^)
Is the Souls fanbase the most cancerous fanbase of all?
Any MMO, any MOBA. Pretty much any online game available right now is at very least as bad as the souls fanbase, and an overwhelming majority are worse by several orders of magnitude.
We're pretty lucky, all things considered, that the worst we deal with is a few stale memes recycled ad nauseum and some 'literally who'-tier irrelevant streamers.
>tfw your wife is literally the embodiment of evil
The highlighted option here.
It has some weird lighting interactions in some places, like Oolacile having this red tint and some objects being weirdly bright like the pillars in the OnS screenshot.
I'm not entirely sure it's the DeS lighting, but that was my impression when I saw it.
There's all sorts of neat things you can do with it.
Set it to Ghost, then change your Chr type, you can apply the phantom effect to the entire world.
If you want it to be a gold or blue phantom, change your covenant type, then change to that Chr type.
It works poorly with trees.
When they moved Dark Souls from GFWL to Steamworks, they accidentally patched in the developer debug assets. They patched it out after about half an hour, but the damage was done.
Yeah, I did that. I hadn't figured out back then why sometimes it used the white phantom effect and sometimes the black phantom, but it turns out it just uses the most recent phantom effect that's been loaded on a player or NPC. Basically, it was Kirk's fault.
I imagine it'd be some kind of triggered event, like you interact with some object or talk to some NPC and break the seal on some empyrean realm of horrors, than now invades you randomly, superimposing itself over the area you were previously in and drawing you into this labyrinthine red phantom city.
Imagine if every player (or at least up to 6) invaded by it appeared all within the same client simultaneously, and their shared objective in order to escape was to either slay another player or kill the boss at the end, which would release every player and cleanse the blight from your world for that playthrough. The twist?
There's no bossfog, and all of the players currently in the world can enter the bossroom to kill you.
For added fun, I'd throw in a temple guardian covenant, who get summoned into this red phantom world when it invades a group of players with the goal of aiding the stage in killing them all and protecting the boss (their covenant leader)
Not at all.
Download the file below, rename it DARKSOULS.exe and replace the DARKSOULS.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\DATA with it.
Nah, I've known about this for a long time.
i wonder why venom was so reluctant to tell people how to do that. you can't hurt other ppls game with it, i didnt see a problem with making it common knowledge
Smough is a pretty big guy
What's even better is there's an entry in the MTD MAN menu for the phantom color overlay, Ps_Ghost_Param_Black, that you can use to customize it.
And Seath the scaleless betrayed his own. And the dragons were no more.
What if we made it so everything was dark as hell and we called it Darkest Souls and I got stuck on some railing for like five minutes trying to get here?
>skin around eye is hollow
>eye and rest of the face is alive
>dark souls 2 ''hollowing''
you edit one single value. it annoys me how cheat engine users like to pretend their hacks are more complicated/sophisticated than they really are and must never be shared with filthy outsiders
The feeling of impact in the Dark Souls animations is produced by simulating weight, which comes from the wind up and recovery animations as well as the way hits chain together.
It just makes a weapon blow look and feel heavier to have the character appear to have a bit of difficulty hefting the weapon. You'll notice the same animation techniques used in Monster Hunter for the heavy weapons.
I'm not saying it's laudable, but it makes sense from the standpoint of someone with a YouTube channel trying to corner a market on showing off unused content.
Not everyone is entirely altruistic all the time.
it was going pretty good because this thread is almost only talking about das1 and des
>literally never seen this video before
and it need to be? the curse is not on the body, this is not a disease, your body degrades as your mental health degrades too.
Also theres that full hollow blacksmith in das2 that seems fine, different than the undead merchant from das1 that are clearly going insane.
But it's useless to talk about this, das2 director didn't knew what he was doing, so whatever
i found this gril and i thought it was so forced that at first she was all like ''hum stay away faget'' and when you talk with her again she acts super nice with you like if you were her best friend ever.
im not the creator of that vid but if memory serves phantom color isn't client-side. you can set yourself to appear as a partially vanished ghost and cast flash sweat to achieve this effect
>randomly get shot by a lightning bolt

these things seem to show up at the worst times. the last time I saw one, it was blocking my path at anor londo archers.

Where do I take my build from here? I'm able to swap the Gravelord Sword out for a
Chaos Zweito mix things up a little. I don't want to invest any/many more points into STR/DEX and don't really want to vitgouge, more attunement maybe? I've done quality builds before, but this one has me stumped.
Guide me, /dsg/.
Between the LockCamParam and ChrFollowCam, someone could probably make a much better first person script.
One of the first things I'm noticing is that setting the Cam distance at about 0.5, then adjusting the chase rate so the camera doesn't do that thing where it falls behind the player as they're running makes for much smoother controls.
Trying to figure out how to prevent it from pulling up/down when you go up/down stairs though.
Huh, first one I saw was at Anor Londo too, although he was standing right in front of the right archer, and stomped my shit when I found out they could attack.
I didn't know what they were called or even how to start searching for them online so I spooked myself out for a bit by thinking I was the only one it had happened to.
>haven't even fought Quelaag yet but going down the Great Hollow
>didn't buy a stone from Oswal because who the fuck gets cursed these days
Apparently me. Now I'm just sitting at the GH bonfire contemplating deletion.
Could be worse
You could've tried to farm the clams and gotten all your equipment broken
And then died to a Vagrant right as you were about to reach the bonfire
Both of these happened to me
Are these texture issues an inherent issue when you up the resolution in DSfix, or am I doing something wrong?
pick up the Cracked Red Eye Orb chest from beneath the parish elevator in Firelink
trade one of them with Snuggly for two Purging Stones
Nah, I was having more fun playing with the camera controls than I was actually playing in first person. That's why I said "someone could" make the script, because I don't really care enough to do it either.
>Variable attack speed
Never play bloodborne, that's 90% of the difficulty and every enemy is designed to catch rolls
The other 10% is horrible gangrape that makes DaS2 look like a baby's rattler
Tracking isn't an issue though
You forgot ambushes that you can't possibly know about until you die the first time to it because they're more imbalanced and poorly thought out than DaS2
Or how every boss has a move pretty much guaranteed to instagib
The ambushes aren't a big deal unless they're part of that horrible gangrape bit.
Most of the ambushes in the game are just some shitty trash mobs that can't possibly kill you, and it's just one of them.
I actually like that some of them have instagibs. It makes them as dangerous as they look.
And if you get hit by them, you probably deserved it.
Only exception is defiled loran bloodletting beast's grab. Fuck that shit.

Just playing dark souls for the first time. How do people even find shit like this place, behind like two secret walls and a chest? I'm sure online probably helps after one guy finds it, but still. What was that one guy even doing. There isn't even anything worthwhile at the bottom, just a spooky lake and some clam people.
>There isn't even anything worthwhile at the bottom
The Great Hollow contains the Cloranthy Ring and 10 Crystal Lizards.
Siegmeyer's story ends at the Ash Lake bonfire if you've done all of his other events correctly. This gets you a Titanite Slab.
Great Magic Barrier is in the middle of the area.
There's a covenant leader at the end of the area. You can cut his tail for the Dragon Greatsword even if you're not interested in its covenant. It won't go hostile so it's basically free.
Most of everything else is worthless as well if you're just sticking with your one favorite weapon and armor the whole way through.
Besides that, one of the side quests end there with a pretty good reward.
fite me pls lvl 120
this, we do what we can with what we have, graphics get better in time but there is still reason to appreciate it for what it is
So I'm on an SL1 playthrough and decided instead of the normal approach to get the master key and find out just how much I can explore before even fighting a boss.
It seems, and correct me if I'm wrong, from the start of the game these are all the bosses that can be your "first" boss.
>capra demon (can either use the skip in undead burg or skip burg, go to church, pick up basement key)
>stray asylum demon
8 Whole bosses (if you count hellkite and both hydras, then it's 11). Kind of cool to think about. The level design in DaS might be a bit more lackluster than DeS, but the world design is too fucking great.
I agree with you there, and I think das2 improved level design in some aspects but botched the world design. Most people just disagree with it entirely but I think there are some great and unique atmospheres in das2
So I got this up and running.
How long of hitting a wall does it take to break santier's spear?
Masterkey to havel
Open door to darkroot
Go under firelink
Go up the other room
Master key open gate to valley of drakes*
Run past drakes
take elevator to darkroot
Go straight to quelagg/ash lake
Once at darkroot you can run to andre and continue your adventure from there.
Go to Rhoy's Rest bonfire in Amana, unequip all gear except for spear and stand by the acid cloud spitting mushroom, or go to Aldia's keep and do the same but in the acid pool with the dogs in it
dunno how fast that ticks but it's pretty rapid durability depletion
Did they patch the thing with hitting the wall behind Dyna and Tillo's nest with the 2h R2 where you can get several hits each time with the right spacing? That way was pretty fast the one time I broke it, but that also wasn't in SotFS so it might not work anymore.
>Make sm 124k twink
>Invade shitloads of people at Heides Tower and lost Bastille pretty much non-stop for about 2 days.
>Get on yesterday
>Literally can't invade a single person
>Think I'm softbanned but I can still summon people fine and see the signs fairly regularly.
Is there just legitimately no one for me to invade in those places? I'm finding that pretty fucking hard to believe since I did it for hours on end for a few days.
Any of you guys on PSN mind helping me with False King in DeS? He's been showing my asshole a real good time and I'd like to get past him.
Why is the reach for the handaxe so fucking dogshit? I clip people with my axe yet they take no damage so I need to be touching dicks with them. I also hate how the running attacks are slower than shit like the zweihander and are almost impossible to hit (since you need to be close as fuck, and it's insanely slow so you are going to get hit or parried before you can attack).
i have the same and worse problem with caestus. some times ill be hugging them and attacks will still miss. and the tracking is horrific too. even though it’s as light as any weapon has the right to be, you can’t turn your torso while swinging. also it’s not ultra so i cant even manual aim
Not if you're on Nvidia. You might actually see a decrease in performance or issues where there were none previously if you have an older card because of the shady shit they pull with slowly forcing cards to become obsolete quicker to push sales of new hardware.
I think he forgot to add a few words in his sentences.
I think he meant he DID get the master key.
Also, you can skip Taurus without it by jumping into lower burg and continuing from there.
cheers that makes sense, but I can't get anyone to summons me.. I'm fucking terrible so I'll probably lose once I get an invasion/dual anyway. It's irritating you can' t do it without using a consumable.
how many are there? i know about the one right before the fog door and the near the four bitch bum hollows
I meant to put a comma in my sentence
instead of the normal approach, to get the master key*
By normal approach i meant, just playing through the game normally as a first timer.
>first time playing through DaS 2
>put my soupsign down at King's Gate to farm Sunlight Metals
>host immediately bolts into the Ruin Sentinel room
>aggros everything as I stare in disbelief from the hallway
>somehow he survives and makes it back to the bonfire
>I shrug at him, he uses black separation crystal to boot me out
So...was he really expecting me to follow him? Was he trying to grief me or something? I don't really lose anything as a phantom, so what's the point?
I don't even...
of course she'd tell you to keep the fuck away at first, I'm suprised she doesn't agro instantly since almost every other being in drangleic is out for blood. I'm thinking she turns to acting nice since she notices you're a non-hostile human, which to be honest is a rarity she'd be more than happy to indulge in..
This general needs to stop being dead
How do you think twinking should be handled?
Personally, I think it should just be ignored. I enjoy fighting twinks, and I think it's a perfect introduction into the game.
bring back SM as a hidden feature, but it only affects matchmaking up to a certain point in the story during NG, then goes back to SL-based matchmaking for the rest of the game and NG+
Alternatively, all gear/spells/items CARRIED (not equipped, to avoid people putting on noob gear until they spawn and then equipping their twink gear) on your person have a hidden threat value attached, and matchmaking is based on the total threat value a character has. You have a soft threat value based on current inventory, and a hard threat value based on certain other parameters (such as embers collected, merchants available, etc.)
>twinking will happen no matter what game mechanics are put in place to stop it.
Yeah, but there are ways to soften it, like SM. While SM may have been shit for almost everyone, it did control how hard someone could twink.
>Playing Dark Souls 1 for the first time
>Make it to the undead burg
>Buying stuff from some guy
>Dat chainmail doe
>Suddenly notice I'm being invaded
>Run out to see where they are
>They're wearing a mask, no armor, and using a shield and club
>Try to fight them
>They have pyromancies and a lightning-infused crossbow or something
I guess this is the Dark Souls welcoming committee.
I think ignoring it is the way to go too. SM fucked up way too many things in the process of stopping twinking.
Thing is, you can always just stay hollow if you don't want to fight twinks. I've never understood the issue.
i think sm isnt too bad. make soapstones use sl and dont make lost souls affect sm and i think it could work in das3. controversial opinion i know but i think its a viable possibility
Is Pyromancy still worth using if I don't upgrade Int or Faith? I feel like spending points on either of those would mostly be a waste without actually using sorceries or miracles but pyromancies are cool as hell and I want to play around with them.
He just carries a lot of skeletons around, more than anyone else
>man I don'r want to kill no dragons this is bullshit
>i'll just sit here and burn myself alive I never asked for this soul
>goddamn now apparently I have superpowers and am the god of death
>shit i'll just go chill in a coffin, go fuck people up if you want to or something I don't really care
DS2 had some great ideas but then fucked them all up
>how about we have your equipment play a role in matchmaking as well as your soul level!
and then they made it count souls spent on fucking arrows and souls you haven't even used for some reason
>Hey how about we have a defense stat that is not utterly worthless
Then they fucked that up by making default rolling 1/3 as good as it was in DaS 1 and not telling anyone about it so people kept eating shit and getting mad at the game.
I think it's fine that invasions are scary for new players, and even that they might seem unwinnable.
They are neat because they give you a little push to the boss fog, and they also encourage summoning which is good for players who like to be summoned.
They're also a good disincentive for players who want to just summon a partner that plays the game for them.
I agree, nothing really needs to be done about twinks. Leave it the way it was in Dark Souls. Allow players the satisfaction that comes with finding a creative way to kill a twink. It's really nice when you pull it off.
I honestly think the way the enemies in the catacombs were designed was completely influenced by bamco so they could market "hardest game evar!!!!!!"
>that can parry
>they don't die until you kill an npc that is sitting around 5-6 skeletons at a time with 2-3 skeletons attacking you along the way
>they have unlimited stamina
>they can reset their animations multiple times (think of the big knights at dragon shrine in das2)
>they can roll at you up to 5-6 times and each roll takes out 100 health (basically armor of thorns x1000)
>they can launch themselves at you at 90 mph
>they can dodge your attacks
Then you have the bone wheel skeletons
Then you have the entire area being a maze, patches can kill you by flipping the bridge, the first ledge to get to vamos isn't even visible, a fucking titanite demon, the necromancers can 2 shot you with the fireballs they cast, etc etc etc etc.
This whole fucking area is horsedick and I'll be honest, if it didn't even have the shortcut I wouldn't even come here and never finish the game. I think the only reason pinwheel is so easy is because the devs felt bad for putting people through the torture. Just in the last 30 minutes i've lost 30k+ souls here because either a necromancer ran behind skeletons, the skeletons gangbanged me into a corner, or one infinitely rolled at me and knocked me off a ledge.
I know you can get a divine weapon, but fuck wasting materials on that shit.
Yeah I did, should've clarified. Is the scaling important, I guess is what I'm really asking. Or basically how would I build a pyromancy character? Is Fire enchant on weapons worth doing?
*I think you need some more SUNLIGHT in your life
Pyromancy is designed so that you don't need any stat investment, only souls and fire seeds.
that being said the fire bonus from int and fth does add a bit of extra damage, so if you use pyromancies extensively (like doing a weaponless pure pyro character) it might be worth your while, other wise I would recommend putting those points elsewhere, like Vig, End, or main scaling stats for your weapons.
Flame weapon is a great weapon buff though, so definitely get it.
>They're also a good disincentive for players who want to just summon a partner that plays the game for them.
So much this. You want to summon a fuccboi sunfag to throw lightning spears at everything, you can expect to take a chaos rapier up the taint every now and again for your trouble
The indictment/darkmoon system was a perfect concept that was just executed poorly.
Let players indict invaders, and how much sin you have actually does make the game more dangerous for you. For instance, having more sin lowers your invasion timer so you can get 3 or 4 darkmoons invading you at once.
Also, darkmoons can invade even if you've killed the area boss.
The question is, how soon do you offer it? To get to enter Darkmoon, you had to get through at least 50%~ of the game. Also, how soon do you think you should be able to invade(with a full eye orb)?
I'm starting Demon's Souls for the first time, I was wondering if starting class matters much, or if I should just choose whatever looks like it has the starting look I want.
I'm planning on using that Brushwood set I saw a few times, because it looks the most bulky and awesome. I know armor doesn't matter much in Demon's Souls, considering how little it gives for the weight, but I really want to use it. Is it possible to use that set while still being able to quickroll?
I don't think that's a problem beyond the first few weeks of the game, where twinks likely won't exist with any real efficiency anyway. Even if they did there'd be too many regular players at the same level for them to show up often.
Beyond that, after some time there'd ideally be enough Dorkmoons to hunt Reds frequently. I wouldn't mind a system where once a Red racks up enough sin (let's use Wretch as a placeholder) Dorkmoons are automatically summoned if wearing the covenant ring - similar to the way Blueberries and Way of Blue already work except it isn't fucking useless due to nobody actually joining Way of Blue.
This is a radical one, but bear with me.
Apply the level scaling effect used with Bloodborne when you summon a significantly higher level player through password matchmaking to all invasions and co-op.
Player damage, HP and stamina are reduced to an amount within reasonable range of the host. Not only does this stop twinking, it means if done properly you could create an invasion system where a SL 800 can invade a SL 20 and has a "fair" fight. Completely remove SM or SL matchmaking from the game, and suddenly there is nowhere a high level player need to go to get multiplayer, it's everywhere.
What can I do to make an interesting replay? Done lots of challenges and shit, don't really want something extraordinarily hard but something neat. Willing to CE items in early. (can be for DaS or DaS2)
Problem with this is there's also no benefit to levelling up anymore. There's no reward factor, it's just shit.
Might as well sit at SL 20 and spend your souls on other shit because it doesn't make a fucking difference.
>Might as well sit at SL 20 and spend your souls on other shit because it doesn't make a fucking difference.
Except you know, against the enemies in your actual game.
Are you one of those
>Souls is basically a fighting game and only exists for PvP
>all these twink apologists
Get off it.
Literally all they have to do is remove the stupid +upgrade system.
Anyone who played the DLC's in NG+ with maxed gear knows how fun first time exploring without oneshotting twinks is. The main game only has this for the first week of it's lifetime which is pathetic.
>Thing is, you can always just stay hollow if you don't want to fight twinks. I've never understood the issue.
This. There already is a way to opt out of twink ganking. In DaS especially, because there isn't really a penalty for being hollow.
We'll have to see how attunement is handled now that MP is back.
As for heavy weapons, it would be proportional scaling. If you have abnormally high stamina for your level. you'd still have higher stamina than an average player of the level you were scaled to match.
>Had a dream I was playing DaS2 last night
>I decided to take on the ancient Dragon
>kill him in 3 hits
>proceeded to somehow get raped by the enemies that normally lead up to him
What the fuck
>go to the forest on my NG+3 SL 183 overleveled shitter
>get invaded non-stop
>switch to SL 125 character
>no invasions at all
wtf? are forestfags really so overleveled that can't invade at 125? Both of my characters aren't in a covernent.
I want to make a blighttown invader with force push.
I'd settle for Sen's if this the build too high level for blighttown.
Any suggestions on what level I should go to and how I should construct my build?
Had a weird really vivid one where I was my character, killing hollows and shit when suddenly someone puts me in an armlock and its a darkwraith
I scream for him to let me go but hes got a grip of iron with his dark hand, and he turns me around looking deep into my eyes and says in the most sinister yet gentle voice 'this will only take a moment, darling'
He buries his face in my neck and I can feel his hot breath on my neck as I try to yelp out in pain but hes practically strangling me at this point
I get this weird tingling all over my body and it feels like something is leaving my body, and it hurts as it leaves, I manage to let out a tiny little cry and he says 'Shhh, almost over...'
The pain stops and I feel this ovewhelming sense of emptiness as he gently places my limp body on the ground. As he walks off I try to yell 'you bastard', he replies 'do unto others, love' and lets out a hearty laugh that snaps me out of the dream
>tl;dr anon got molested in her sleep by a darkwraith
I don't like it. Less poise and no shield for increased def doesn't make sense to me.
I wanna use miracles I can't aim bows for shit in this game
>having a hard fucking time with gargoyles
>kill them on the first try
fuck dex seriously, the bosses leave a opening for just about one hit and that makes str weapons better
also fuck das camera fuckery i feel like 50% of the difficulty is from shit camera alone
i can think of two ways
-invasions require ng+
-below a certain level, invasions work off equipment and not sl, so weapon/armor reinforcement/infusions would decide invasion candidates, with starter items having a value of 0, and a bought weapon with chaos +3 would have a value of around 13
Cheat engine won't load my table what the fuck
It was working fine just a few seconds ago, now when I click "enable main table" the whole program just stops responding.
How fix? Download the table again?
>you'd still have higher stamina than an average player of the level you were scaled to match.
And a weapon that was more or less completely unusable at the level you're scaled to.
>50% of the difficulty is from shit camera alone
Depends on where you are in the game. With certain jump puzzle and multiple enemy boss fights this is more or less true. It's part of the reason it's so awful that DaS2 abuses multi-enemy bosses so much.
It's taking way longer to get the damn Mad Warrior Armor than it took to get all the other pieces combined
I was at it constantly for over an hour yesterday trying to get the last piece
At the very least you're working your way towards hidden weapon. I ended up getting that spell before I even got all the armor, and by then I just said fuck it.
IIRC the dudes in Brume tower have a chance to drop some of the armor, you might want to kill them if you haven't already.
I totally respect you, anon, but it's fucking trash, I speak from experience.
Stability in a shield is really fucking important, more so than the weight or even the defense rating. If you want to, swap it out for something better (like hollow soldier's or balder shield), and take off your rapier to make up for the weight. Just learn to hardswap if you really need to use it.
I guess I'll do this. It wasn't bad at all for the sword and first 3 armor pieces but this took so long I almost forgot to go to bed and be up for penis inspection day
thief mask looks like garbage
Nothing else matches senpai. The shirt needs to go with the hood to give it the full effect and their are no pants that look any good with it besides maybe heavy boots, but even then it still looks off.
I should mention I made my character black so you can see his face under the hood.
Third day fighting Fume Knight (in small 5 to 6 attempt bursts) despair is setting in even though I can now consistently get him down to about 1/3 health, sometimes without taking damage.
Can someone help with when to punish him in the second half of the fight? His script seems to add a third/fourth attack to certain combos in response to player swings and it keeps catching me off guard. Just punishing his big horizontal sweep is giving me too long in the fight to make mistakes.
Either use a fast weapon or wait quite a while after a 3 hit combo.
He does the backhand if you attack him while he is not in a combo, so you either need to hit him before the the last hit, and even if he tries to backhand you have plenty of time to roll away, or just only attack if he does one of his "bigger" attacks.
Only in very specific cases (ricards raiper strong attack), repair powder and bracing kunckle ring exist for a reason, generally you will do enough damage to clear your path to bonfires way before durability becomes an issue, but do carry some repair powder on you just in case
Elite Giants are such broken bullshit how the fuck does this shit get past QA AND still not get fixed in the second purchse (at least from what i'm told), I couldn't dodge their shit at all until I found out you have to roll stupid early on certain attacks, not all of them just certain ones.
Just look at this webm(played back at half speed):
I'm registered as being hit before the weapon comes off his shoulder
The enemy dies before the weapon reaches me
Also, why are these enormous things put into a dinky little cave? Placing an enemy that swings enormous clubs all over the place always clipping through walls and attacking through his bum chum without taking damage while my weapon bounces of them isn't artificial difficulty?
>It's OK when Dark Souls 1 does it!
The hitbox remaining in place after Smough's death wouldn't have affected jack shit if that hitbox wasn't fucked up in the first place, Fromdrone.
it probably gets past QA with those two caves they put in there.
>Hurrah for safe zone, then try sniper spot
every other time you fight them, there's a nice wide open area or a bunch of soldiers to occupy them. a lot of the things in the game seem pretty easy to compensate for. I dont really get the artificial difficulty thing, and I do think the game is less polished than dark1.
>being a streamboar
>calling anyone else a drone
>being a streamboar
It should be obvious from the filename that I saved that webm from 4chan.
The glitch has nothing to to with that shitty hitbox. That shitty hitbox has nothing to do with the glitch.
Just look at this fucking hitbox in a game as punishing as Dark Souls this shit is inexcusable. Also in this webm you can see the first giant attack creates a shockwave on the floor 4 frames before the weapon swinging animation hits the floor so you have to roll much early than you should to avoid damage.
That would be true were it not for the fact it was dead but it registered a hit due to poor programming.
Limiting the player in a harsh manner but not the AI is an example of artificial difficulty, just because the term is abused doesn't mean every instance is incorrect.
I expected it to die before getting hit.
Notice how Smough didn't actually manage to hit that dude with the hammer? Notice how he still got hit?
Notice how the giant in your webm didn't hit you with his club? Notice how you still got hit?
When did I say DS1 was bad?
What does the glitch have to do with that shitty hitbox? Smough's attack hitbox remaining after his death wouldn't be a problem if the hitbox wasn't garbage. At that, how do you even know the glitch affected anything? AFAIK it only happens when Ornstein is still alive.
Dude, youre way too obsessed with this glitch thats rare and doesnt matter when it happens. Even in that webm, he was within smoughs lightning fart, thats a lingering hitbox, not a broken one.
While that may be a true, I don't know, it isn't what I'm talkign about. For example look at this image it is the first frame of taking damage from the giants jumping attack. It is no where near the ground and it's feet won't land for another 6 frames let along the weapon.
I have never experienced this and I have killed those fuckers more times than I can count so clearly its a rare glitch and DS1 is common gameplay :3
Seriously thought if the only thing you have to say about something is
>NU HUH IT DOESN'T COUNT
then you might as well not say anything, let the guy post his webm, nobody responds we move on.
>2 different webms of 2 different people encountering 2 different fucked up hitboxes counts as the same rage glitch
Anon I think you might want to actually watch the things that are posted rather than just looking at the thumbnail.
I was reffering t this webm >>121375949
in which ds2 has a hitbox where even if youre out of range or they haven't fully swung their weapon, you'd still get hit where as in this one he was still in range of the attack, the hit just came later.
If I hit someone and their HP doesn't move or goes down by like a fraction of an inch I immediately alt+f4.
And if I'm in a particularly shitty mood I will chameleon in some dark corner wait until the invader scours the entire invasion zone and alt+f4 just as he finds me. This one's a guaranteed friend add on Steam.
