I think a few are somewhere in the ether between the last thread and this one
I want to pat Victoria on the
The population always seems to die off around this time of day. West coasters just starting to get out of work, Mid-westerners settling in from work and eating dinner etc, east coasters taking a break, and europe being around 2am so the night owls are starting to go to bed.
I want a DLC where it's just Max, Chloe, Vicky and Kate hanging out doing regular things like eating at the diner and having sleepovers
this is an imagination-only zone buddy
Are you guys seriously against r34 with these girls? Can you really not see Max as sexual? I mean she's an everyday teenager.
I think she's cute as hell. Marry me please. Sex please.
>not "Out of Time"
No imagination :)/10
I'm not attracted to mediocre art with anatomically incorrect proportions and weird coloring.
You know people have screencapped shit like this and posted it on reddit saying "4chan is a nice safe place" where they are glad no one is "sexualized"?
Are you people serious? If you didn't see Max or Kate or Chloe walking down the street...you wouldn't want to date or fuck them? Seriously? Are you all gay? Sure they are a little flat...it's a preference, (I don't particularly care for) but they are too damn cute.
Is that the majority opinion in this general? Like, for real? This isn't some meme shit? You guys actually just want to love them like some waifu because they are too good to be thought of in a dirty way?
Chinchilla does it.
I dunno. I can clearly see that this is a rendered image, so it doesn't strike me as something that "almost looks natural, but not quite".
There's a lot of people who I find visually attractive. Doesn't mean I'd want to fuck all of them. I wouldn't mind befriending some of them, though, because I find their personality interesting.
Point is, the LIS reddit has an opinion that even "4 chan losers" are better to not look at these duties sexually.
For reals? Like, you can't see them in a little more realistic light and find that attractive?
I can't wait until they finish Chloe
Ok, now that I agree with. Too pure.
And I know of the rule34 stuff guys, I'm just surprised I see it looked down upon so much here.
I don't mean to say anyone is wrong, I'm just...surprised.
Chinchilla a shit
Just because I think they're attractive doesn't mean I want to fuck them. I find some of my friends attractive but I certainly don't want to fuck them.
How are we not ded yet?
Are we to become the next /bsg/?
stop being so dramatic about this. Most of us simply don't feel any desire to fap to them because we grew emotionally attached to the characters. I never feel any desire to fap to characters of a story that I cared about. It's not like there's a lack of porn out there to fap to.
Strange. Ok, I can respect that. I guess I'm just a horny fuck. I would have sex with them...(main girls) if they were real, you know real proportions and such.
I just...thought there would be more of me here.
I wrote "for reals" I never meant to be dramatic. It's just strange to me. I guess I'm more of a guy who has sex because of the emotional attachment it brings. So I put the two together sometimes.
I find them sexually attractive and some of the quality R34 stuff is pretty arousing. In general though I haven't really except for one or two times used the material or just thought of it to masturbate to. But I do watch more lesbian porn now than I did before LiS.
So yeah, while they are "attractive", I don't really find myself sexualizing them.
It's only been a little over 2 weeks. Many people haven't even played the episode yet and a bunch of people will check out LiS for the first time during the Steam holiday sales. Why are you so eager for /lisg/ to die?
Fair enough. Thanks for the serious response. Have some perfection.
Well, in case of LiS, there's also the aspect to consider that most people fucking hate NTR and Max getting fucked by a bunch of faceless fat men isn't exactly a turn on for those who like the character.
>you will never experience this game for the first time again
I like Elizabeth, so I don't really mind.
Reminder that Alice is best pet
>A fucking triangle
Not sure if this is hilarious or cute. Like she didn't learn an instrument obviously but - "Yes, Chloe. You can be part of the band, too."
It's my background. Too damn cute. I don't sexualize EVERYTHING....
She is! I have two rabbits and they are sweet. Daily reminder that carrots aren't very good for rabbits at all. Max was a bad bunny mama
I meant the triangle in her hands, you know... the instrument that is incredibly easy to play.
So disappointing that we couldn't free and help her. "You have to trust me Victoria, everything will be fine!" - cut to Jefferson "disappearing" her.
>Not sure if this is hilarious or cute
This is how I would describe most of Chloe's antics
Oh, I thought you took that "fucking triangle" some wrong way.
Right? Vicky driving us into town, being there for Nathan's call... Maybe even a emotional HUG after they manage to escape the dark room alive together. God damn dont nod.
Well, the blush is a way to add some, uh, "volume" to the face. Some artists tend to overdo it, though.
Don't know about the brown shading. At least it's not bright red... that's good, right?
I've always wondered, and haven't really thought much about, but now it's kind of bothering me. Why is Kate always
wearing a helmet?
Fucked up the crop.
Same reason why Max
's hair is made out of Play Doh.
Are all cosplayers bonkers?
How long until Chloe turns Max into a stoner?
You think Grahamfield and Caulscott are bad and then there's Jefferfield. :)
why did it have to suck so much?
i legitimately thought that depending on your actions, you could end in a path where you date warren or not, or a path were your best friend is kate instead of chloe
He could also be her father, is her teacher and she displays her sex life with him publically for Joyce, David, fucking Wells? to read. She's 18, she can't be pregnant. Not like this. I won't have any of it! Give me the channel so I can report them!
>He could also be her father, is her teacher and she displays her sex life with him publically for Joyce, David, fucking Wells
Only him being her teacher is illegal (probably). Everything else is allowed.
This is hilarious shit

I like this one where Victoria visits Kate at the hospital. It's cute.
Back in time AU :) With a younger Jefferson
Because regular tension is cute instead of threatening when it's turned into sexual tension. It's comforting to think all the world's problems could be solved if enemies would just kiss already.
I kinda prefer "our" tsundere Victoria to AU lap dog/beta Victoria.
I can feel the imagination flowing though me.
Victoria x Victoria fanart when.
Same for me. AU is fine, but that's not the Victoria nor ship dynamic I got infatuated with.
True about her being a lap dog to AU Max. Idk I guess I like both. :) I see them being like best friends.
My friend Dr Zaius and I are putting together a flowchart (a-la-/mu/) of music similar to LiS
If you want to contribute, please contact us on steam, or reply to this post.
not-so Current Pastebin of game's music/progress:
Thanks to photoshopgril for putting together the background image,
polaroidgril for assembling the album covers/artist names/etc. onto the background image,
Dr. Zaius for helping in general.
I am working on a few different thoughts for the flowchart. If you guys have any ideas, please share.
I have a torrent of all the games music, Morali's OST, the Vortex Club party, all the licensed songs (most in lossless format), and all the albums they were taken from.
Alternative download on MEGA, if you get it from here, please add the files to your torrent folder to facilitate easier downloads for others.
The whole lap dog idea baffles me. Victoria is still rich as fuck, quite talented and has probably only known Max for about a month. We could assume that they had a chance meeting in Seattle but I doubt William's survival would alter where Max went to school or do much for her social standing. Vortex Maxine's personality never struck me as very domineering or charismatic in her journal and texts either.
Will Kate be there? It won't have Max bullying her will it?
And I'm guessing the DLC ends with an exceptionally cruel prank that breaks Kate and pushes her into suicide?
They'll publically use people like this as "proof" that their whole game was a masterpiece
To be fair, the Bay ending was fairly tear-jerking. I picked it in my second playthrough out of curiosity, and the combination of Spanish Sahara and the photographies changing just hit me right in the feels.
Not that it makes it good, though. Just shows that Dontnod can create an emotional scene.
Eh, well, you know.
But we'll talk her out of it of course
...we still need our punching bag, duh. But really, we'd want to break her to the point where she'll just do what we say: http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/rooftop_1
This. Not that we already didn't know that they can create really emotional scenes, but yeah. I absolutely hate the Bay ending, and for the most part I was just angry at how illogical and terrible it was, but it did make me cry as well when the camera pans over Chloe's body and the fucking pictures REEEEEEEEEEEE
especially that one
Petition anon here. Printing the petition tomorrow to send it out. The petition will stay up for the foreseeable future and if we hit more goals I'll send it to dontnod again. Watch my new video if you want. Thanks everyone who helped us get this far. It was probably for nothing, but it was fun working so hard for nothing.
Not that I don't agree about the bay ending being full of shit but the problems that post describes apply to the bae ending as well.
It still presents the tornado as being canonically caused by Max and that Chloe's death would somehow avert it. Nearly everything the player has worked for besides Chloe's survival is undone by the town's destruction and the deaths of the inhabitants. And yes it clearly was the intention of the writers that they be dead, otherwise it would never be a choice to begin with.
Any supposed message about "accepting consequences is a load of bullshit. If that were really the case Max would have stopped using her photo ability the moment Warren explained how storm was caused. Her only concern is Chloe, it has nothing to do with Max having an epiphany.
Why can't we just pretend Polarized never happened? Even if it were longer and less vague the bae ending would still be a load of wank.
Both endings are shit, anon.
I wish the game crashed during the art gallery part and never booted up again.
Thank you :) It's a shame we didn't get more signatures but we've still done a great job. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they respond to me.
I didn't ask for this feel...
At least you went out and tried. That's more than 99% of people can say.
I have to admit, the alterations to how the bathroom scene played out (the long wait for Nathan to enter, not being able to see what was happening, etc) fucking wrecked me, and seeing Nathan just trapped freaking out trying multiple times to revive her.
But it didn't wreck me in a 'beautiful tragedy' way (and boy am I a sucker for tragedy), it wrecked me in a real life "this is sick and awful and wrong and unfair, let me fucking DO SOMETHING" kind of way and a raging "this is really really shitty storytelling and doesn't make a lick of sense, someone bomb Dontnod" kind of way.
With more logic put into it and more care taken for the subplots and Nathan's role in everything, and all of Arcadia Bay's role in everything, it could have actually been really powerfully executed. The fact that it missed the mark on the logic side of it, rendering it nothing more than unbelievable emotional manipulation, just makes it so much more aggravating.
The cemetery scene was just shoddy as fuck though, nothing to like at all.
Thanks for all your efforts, man. Even if it doesn't go anywhere, it really carried me through the shock of it all to see that we aren't alone, and to entertain the notion of hope.
Keeping my fingers crossed!
>Why can't we just pretend Polarized never happened?
So wow guys, I wonder where this story's going to go now that we know Nathan knows about the storm and thus it couldn't possibly be as simple as babby's first theory?! How do you think it all connects?!
For the next two days I didn't wake up because I literally didn't sleep.
Just in the past ~week, week and a half have I gotten back to eating and sleeping normally.
I still remember every time I wake up though.
Thoughts? I recall someone talking about this a couple threads ago and someone also mentioned something about the Prescotts knowing about the storm.
Yeah it's pretty obvious this was dropped in favour of something simpler to execute. The entire damn game was building it up then suddenly "lolnope Jefferson's just a weirdo, the Prescotts don't matter"
I'm the dumb loser that uploaded his folder, I'm up to 1504 now
Remember to smile even when it hurts
I feel you anon I hope someday we will find happiness
>Black rocks and shoreline sand
>Still that summer I cannot bare
>And I wipe the sand off my arms
>The Spanish Sahara, the place that you'd wanna
>Leave the horror here
Most likely not, it'd probably be best for us all to move on. I've been coping by playing other vidya
I really hope the second video gets a lot of views. With all the jackasses on Reddit pulling the "journey, not the story" card it needs to become more widely understood why Episode 5 was so unsatisfying.
Finally looking into To The Moon since people bring it up a lot. From the gameplay trailer:
>My goal for To The Moon is to have you play it, watch the ending, and say "That was fucking satisfying. May I have another?" And you may.
Never has someone said so precisely what I wanted to hear. Shut up and take my fucking money.
Do you know the story? I don't want to spoil the whole story.
It's an old man dying. He dreams about going to the moon. Some people goes inside his memories and does shit. They learn shit about him. Like past regrets and shit. In the end he goes to the moon.
Oh yeah, it's all fake but to the old man dying, it was real.
"Katie" is either a red herring or a dropped plot point. More likely the former considering that nothing in Kate's room (aside from a bottle you can't examine) hints at a double life. This theory on the other hand actually could have been an interesting explanation. It proposes that Kate was possessed by Rachel resulting in a hybrid identity known as 'Katie' who behaved similarly to Rachel (hanging out with Frank).
This is worse than the guro/torture porn PestilenceSFM put out.
Not to play the devils advocate, but from a writers perspective, is the whole "journey not destination'' theme so bad?
Whist I have many problems with the game, I really think the ending was the least of them.
This is shameless self promotion
Luke is Supreme Gent/will shoot up school
Quad Damage Chloe
Bae or Bay
Rachel is Max
Rachel has Max's powers
MARI WAS RIGHT!
Well, from "a writer's perspective" you can justify pretty much anything. Looking at it as a product, people want satisfaction, and there's no satisfaction without some kind of reward. So apart from both endings being horrible and not too well executed either, there's the thing that people here and elsewhere have been puzzling along for months and months, eager to find out how it all plays together, asking questions, engaging in discussion and awaiting to see just how much they predicted correctly. And then - nothing. That is the opposite of reward, it actually makes you feel dumb and betrayed for spending so much time to begin with.
That might not be the most intelligent reaction seeing as how you still maybe had fun and learned stuff doing the puzzling, but it is the natural reaction to become frustrated.
That's what I had to tell myself for years, because endings for long running series are rarely satisfying.
Maybe that's why unlike most LiSbians, I don't hate the ending that much. At least it involved things we predicted.
Well as far as time travel stories go there aren't many avenues to end. I just don't understand how people say the endings were 'emotionally manipulative' when both were one of the very few ways to tie the story to a close.
It's manipulative because there's no context for what we're doing. They just blurt out that it's Max's fault and expect us to go with it without any proof, against all evidence to the contrary, and at the cost of aborting and invalidating every plot thread we've picked up since the first time we left that stupid bathroom. We're expected to just go with it because oh noes how sad, rather than actually putting in the time to make us believe this is really necessary.
I'm an hour or so into To The Moon and they literally just pulled an 'it's the journey' in the actual dialogue. And it WORKS, because it's appropriate and not a copout. It's like this game was made for post-LiS depression.
I honestly believe that there would've been a sequence, had the developers had time, where max continuously goes back into her photos at different times of the week in order to try to warn everybody about jefferson and the incoming storm only to find herself create a bigger storm. Then the only course of action left would be the baevsbay choice.
Would that have given the satisfaction people expected?
No need to do that. Kate is a pure virgin.
Nah don't listen this tard. She's alive and left the town on that morning, already.Unlike all fat-ass retards in Arcadia Bay.
>Oh it's snowing!!! Climate changes crazily
>Oh two moons!!!!
>Oh whales are dying
>Oh birds are dying
>Oh it's raining shit!!!!
>Oh it's a storm. -Let's go to the beach, each ,Let's go get away,They say, what they gonna say?
It would have made a little more sense. Somehow the environmental effects are exactly the same no matter what changes occur to the timeline (including saving William five years beforehand). That's pretty much the exact opposite of Chaos Theory which revolves around the idea of unpredictable random variables and consequences.
It's Max's Legendary Time Slayer she uses it to cut distortions in time. If only she hadn't lost it in that battle she could have used it to destroy the storm in a single hit
You can still choose the bay ending. Just don't try to pass off an insignificant line of dialogue as indisputable canonical proof that she left the hospital right on time and didn't have an accident on the road. Where is her message to Max during the storm? If we got some from Warren, Taylor and other students then it's odd that Kate never bothered to call one of her closest friends.
All it would take is a single text message in the Tab menu. They wouldn't need to show her in the bae ending or even to have Max mention her. I doubt it'd be that hard to make what's essentially a tiny cosmetic change.
She didn't even mention Kate.Because she was trying to get that photo and save Chloe. But i don't think that she's dead or something. As i said her fate is determinant and possibly they didn't make a effort for it.
I'm going to bed, hopefully I'll die in my sleep
YFW when you got to the end stats and saw that the majority of players kissed Warren and left that decision "canon."
No can do, but this was from shortly after release
kissed him just out of curiosity then rewound andhugged him. It actually felt incredibly intimate, it was kinda sweet.
Pity it had to come after he so god awfully exposited to me that I have to kill his cockblocker to save the world because babby's first theory.
Leave/hug friendly way choices. To me this kid deserved a hug, but nothing more than that. He's not gonna remember it,anyway.
Kissing him? i dunno it's seems so OOC to me.Max states that Warren as a cool geek brother, and even if you say no or yes to drive-in her journal says “I just need a get away”, and if you don’t “I don’t wanna lead him on”. And Max suddenly kiss him and says ''I'm glad that show him how i feel '' But nightmare sequences;jealousing Chloe,GO APE APE thing ...Hm.. sorry but nope.
I'll give you annoying and creepy and I don't like the guy, but the nigga is beyond harmless he's just some dumb 16 year old. People who actually think Warren is dangerous or manipulative sound fucking crazy
Hey man, I'd just gotten done with dat voicemail, rewinding a bunch of deaths and explosions, and forcing myself into denial about the fact that the episode was probably going to be shit. I aint afraid to say I needed a good long hug at that point.
>the majority of players kissed left that decision "canon."
They kissed Chloe too (%79) and if we go through with that logic this journal entries're canon then.If you romance Warren and Chloe, Max still chooses Chloe.
Yeah, he's manipulative the same way a 5 year old girl is being manipulative when she pouts until you give her what she wants.
But thinking about Warren, goddamn it, why were we never given the opportunity to hook that stupid fuck up with Brooke? We can hook Brooke up with Daniel, we can hook Max up with Warren, we can leave Warren all alone, we can inadvertently hook him up with Stella, but we can't just say "Hey idiot, Brooke is literally addicted to your dick, tap that shit and leave me alone!"
It's never even addressed whether he even realises she's fucking obsessed with him. Max talks about hooking them up in the first damn episode but only ever talks about it to Brooke behind Warren's back. Tell the fool, Max! Christ.
Was it a mistake to introduce the photo ability? I know it would deprive us of the William AU but it'd probably keep the story more focused. Most of Episode 5 felt directionless with Max faffing around like a moron in multiple timelines.
That's not necessarily manipulative. iirc, he only says that if you try to re-initiate conversation, and we don't even know if he's aware of Brooke's feelings. Brooke has a drive-in postcard in her pool locker, so she most likely mentioned it to him in the first place - it only makes sense to ask her if Max won't go.
It's ambiguous, but Warren's comments are perfectly consistent with thinking Brooke is just his friend, so it can't be automatically assumed that he's using her as a bargaining tool.
that's not being manipulative he's just fucking retarded wit por tact. You can't uninvite someone from some shit because someone "better" came along. The situation is fucked but not in the way you're thinking
Yeah I think mixing the two concepts seriously did this story a disservice. Especially introducing the Focus ability so late in the game.
Which is a shame because it fits well with the whole theme of photography, photos literally being 'pieces of time,' and with the concept of regret and ruminating over dusty old photo albums about what might have been. But they really fucked up the execution by trying to juggle both that, and the appeal of an instant rewind.
Here's the thing, he already agreed to go with Brooke and would drop instantly if Max accepts the invitation. If Max declines, he pretends that he hasn't invited Brooke yet and claims he's just inviting her now as a passive agressive vent and possibly as a tactic to get Max jealous to change her mind.
Maybe if it had just been used to revisit old timelines to pick up information or just for the sake of nostalgia it might have worked better. Changing the timeline in Episode 3 was novel but it amounted to little more than Max learning a typical Aesop about not messing with her power.
I don't exactly blame them for bringing it back in Episode 5 since it wouldn't make a lot of narrative sense to introduce such an important power and forget about it. But we end up travelling to an inconsequential timeline in San Francisco. Then Max bungles her contest photo focus by not sending David a message, resulting in her going right back to square one in the Dark Room. Every single non-bae/bay choice is retconned within a half hour once Max uses Warren's photo. And finally the game's climax is an overly long nightmare scene with faux symbolism and derivative mind fuckery that seems lifted from Twin Peaks, the Batman games and Silent Hill.
There is SOME speculation that the Ep3/4 alternate timeline stuff wasn't originally intended. That one screenshot that contained basic concept art for all five episodes showed the old run-down house next to the barn/dark room in the Episode 3 spot rather than Episode 4.
It's possible that the story had them finding the dark room earlier on. It's not too hard to imagine: instead of raiding the Principal's office, they raid Nathan's room (even at the time, it made no sense for them to be searching the Principal's office over Nathan's room anyway!). Then they grab David's files the next morning at the Price's, and Frank's when they raid his RV. Then the next scene is the clue board, followed by the end-of-Episode finding of the dark room. The cliff-hanger could have been running to find Rachel, or actually finding her. This would naturally leave Episodes 4 and 5 more time to build everything up, give time to resolve various plot points, etc.
The speculation would then be that they felt they needed to introduce the focus-powers earlier so it didn't come out of nowhere in the final episode. And it naturally leads to a "Max learns the unexpected consequences of fucking around with past decisions" theme.
But it's pure speculation that is exceptionally unlikely anyway.
So? That doesn't automatically mean he's aware of Brooke's feelings or intentionally trying to manipulate Max. Maybe he's saying he still needs to call her to save face and have an excuse to stick his nose in his phone. Maybe he told Brooke he was going to ask Max and has to report back that it didn't go well and the two of them will go after all.
If he's being manipulative, it really doesn't make sense for him to bring up Brooke when Max says yes, considering at best it makes him look like a dickhead and at worst it'll make Max fear for her life when the crazy bitch comes after her.
It's ugly. No sense of form, so it ends up looking like a pillow-shaded sausage. No sense of anatomy either - vaginas on a stomach are par for the course, proportions are shitty, with features hypersexualised way past beyond the point of ridiculousness, faces are ghastly. Everything is specular and shiny.
He also might be a retard, judging by his attempts at humor, and definitely is a sick fuck, because he puts dicks on everyone.
This cunts nonsense is the first time I've had to filter someone this year
>to pick up information
I agree. I still feel the William AU was completely wasted in how close Max would have been able to get to Nathan and the vortex club to sleuth out what might have been going on with all that (this occurring before it was confirmed that the club itself was just typical high school kids and not some weird cult or anything).
The way they use that power by having Max literally just explain shit and ask Chloe to explain it back to her felt so fucking clumsy to me, I really couldn't believe they just went with that. I felt certain all these Focus segments (I read the leaks ahead of the episode) would revolve around finding a physical change to make, like hiding William's keys, to keep the logic neat and tidy. And actually fitting with the theme of 'what if x had gone differently' instead of just blundering in and clumsily abusing time powers like the world's most retarded Light Yagami (but still somehow fucking forgetting all about the storm not once but twice, the second time after she'd literally just come away from realising it was her fault, goddamn it Max).
That's disproven by the fact that if Max accepts his invitation, Brooke is angered by the Warren dumping her and gets passive aggressive.
>one retard represents a continent full od people
nice meme, mind if I save?
why not now? you seem so retarded you make threads while the last one's not done, doesn't matter you'll be c u c k e d anyway :^)
I read the leaks and there actually was one point that was so simple yet so brilliant that I was embarrassed I never thought of it. I was trying to figure out what would cause Max to go to San Francisco since it seemed like she'd just be going there with Jefferson. I had my doubts that Jefferson would exposit to her about how he was going to accept her photo since he'd never even seen it. I didn't even think about the possibility of her just doing the sensible thing and texting David all the details he needed to bust Jefferson and Nathan. Of course it was kind of annoying how she could have avoided half the episode by simply not giving Jefferson the photo.
Brooke could have Warren if she made some moves and stopped trying to be subtle. Just grab his dick and start jerking him off in science class
I hated that text thing to be honest, for the same reason I hated "hurr explaining everything back to me pls".
How is autopilot Max going to explain that shit? It doesn't make sense, logically or thematically. It's just a cheap, creatively bankrupt abuse.
Urgh. Finally got the courage to check this asshat's twitter in case he's said anything interesting. He's gotta just be fucking with people at this point.
I dunno man, she sounded so fucking depressed in my run where I inadvertently stole kek from her and hooked her up with Daniel. She'll probably be scared to lose him and have to settle for someone even worse, and just 'yes dear' her way through a lifelong loveless marriage, dreaming about what might have been.
How do all the following Blackwell students rank?:
Max, Kate, Victoria, Warren, Nathan, Dana, Taylor, Juliet, Courtney, Stella, Brooke, Alyssa, Daniel, Hayden, Luke, Evan, Justin, Trevor, Zachary, Logan, and Sarah
