Elite: Dangerous General
Why are we still here edition
>Where do i buy x module/weapon for my ship?
High-tech systems have the best inventory, look there. The more population the better.
>What's this RES you guys talk about?
Resource Extraction site. spawns pirates and space cops that shoot each other. HAZRES in best left until you have a Vulture or better.
>Steam Group (post your commander info in the announcement so we can add you)
>Change HUD color:
>Ship discounts (report these as you find them)
All systems exploited by Li Yong-Rui have a discount on ships and outfits for example:
NU TAURI - Parmitano Terminal
BD+28 413 - Gunn Station
>Test your ships before you buy:
Some weird guy wanted to collect a list of us (Seems like a lazy guy as the list hasn't been updated in ages)
ASP = ASS
>praise the vision
Particle accelerator or don't bother mounting a huge weapon.
If you don't want to get huge you can just stick another laser on it.
Viper, alternatively iEagle if you want to grind some empire standings.
I did it, /edg/! I've grinded enough to get a Python! PRAISE THE VISION!
However, I've only got about 14m left over after I purchase the 56mil credit ship, so should I go ahead and buy or hold off until I can afford to outfit it better?
I'm wanting word from Python owners. I just want to know if they've had success in combat while piloting a somewhat under-fitted one. My current ship is a Vulture, but it's getting boring.
If google/forums is the solution, why even come here? What's the point?
More grinding, then. Fuck.
This is not new. Star density in ED doesn't rise or fall smoothly but in huge cubical chunks.
One system it's normal and in another it's fuckton of stars everywhere.
This cube is an artefact of that process.
Some forumdads go out on a limb and claim that it's ED's representation of globular clusters THAT ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND IN THIS REALISTIC 1:1 SCALE MODEL OF MILKY WAY GALAXY.
I've made it to Sagittarius A. It was a super long a boring experience
And now I have to get back, I'll have to ride all the way back again. I don't want to do this, it's boring as fuck. But I can't just suicide because all this progress, time spent would be wasted and the last time I've been on a space station was about 1 /12 months ago, so if I continue in same pace it will take me another 1 1/2 months to get back. I really don't know what to do.
take the journey back, you'll make at least 100m if you were out that long and actually scanned shit i'm sure, if you really waanted to just go back you could not bother with scanning shit on the return, but thats just wasted money, cut your time in half though
Yeah you're right, I have to make it back. I'll probably just take shortest way possible. Doubt I'll make 100mil though, didn't scan that much but I found at least 7-8 earth like planets
I bought a Python with so little money I had to strip out the stock fittings to afford three large pulses. It was fine, but less combat efficient than my Vulture.
It's fine, basically.
Whats best outfitting for mining/trading in a cobra?
Also is there a reason i get interdicted every other time i jump now? Ive only failed at evading twice out of 2 dozen times, but damn its annoying.
I wish they would get rid of fucking snooze cruise.
Just let me jump directly to stations.
>buying an FdL
Wiki says KP TAURI for 15% discount
Getting to Bow-Tie is gonna be difficult, the stars are so far apart around it
I hit a dead end the way i went so i have to loop back around towards NGC 7822 and move down to where stars are more clustered and follow that till im below it and then move up to it, shit is annoying
>6m credits to kill 30 pirates in one system
who else /elite/ here?
Super cruise is boring and unnecessary. Why not use the FSD to make microwarps to in-system locations? Then we could do cool shit like plot our own jump coordinates, and retards could accidentally microwarp to the center of a planet and die and then bitch on the forums
I'd prefer Super Cruise if it just autojumped to your location.
you could pull it out of auto-pilot, but if you don't then once it jumps it steers to the destination and drops out of jump when you're there.
It ticks me off because it doesn't have to be boring. Spaceflight is more straightforward mechanics-wise than driving a truck but FD hasn't done anything to remedy that aside from spawn murder-hungry Vipers to annoy you sometimes.
>walking around the cockpit
>real instrument panels
>proper NPC chatter
>in-system routes that take advantage of gravity wells
>decor and shit like in ME2
>ship AI banter
A bobblehead is a start, I guess.
>jump to star
>4 stations orbiting a smaller star 100,000ls away
Why not just put the nav beacon at the smaller star?
i dont know what FDs reasoning for this is but I assume theres some complicated explaination that boils down to muh realism. I like an amount of realism but i just want to shoot space lasers
I mean I knew this already but this game clearly shows that even if humanity could travel at the speed of light we would be able to explore only bare minimum anyway. We defiantly need an alternative way of travel if we want to get anywhere.
Oh no, not pirates how will I eve-
oh wait, I'm flying around a combat Python.
It's just boring senpai, that's all there is to it. It's a fucking giant waste of time and I don't even trade so I have it pretty easy.
>average wing of pirates
LMAO so two vipers and a cobra pilot by kids or dads?
I think you overestimate the 'average' pirate.
>implying pirates want anything to do with a ship with zero cargo storage
