Last thread decided. That little cozy island to the north is going to c u c k e d by the kingdom of Felsaad.
Then I'm going to help the Nords retake Atmora before bringing Skyrim into a Nord stronk empire.
Almost took the bait. ALMOST.
I was the one that recommended the atmoran/companion invasion reenactment
Just copying and pasting this here, would you perchance know how to fix my problem?
Why the hell is this chapel i own saying i have the wrong holding type?
This is in elder kings, i have given it to a priestess courtier and it did nothing, ended up assassinating her to get it back and give it to a mage and it did nothing
Does culture need to be the same, or can it be different to the province? They both have the same religion
I haven't been able to play since i originally posted this question 6 hours ago, i just have the game paused
But i am not holding it anymore, as i said i gave it to some courtiers
Why would they have it as a wrong holding type? They dont own any more land to be labled feudal so they should be able to hold it and do the job fine
I literally just spawned the guy in with the employment option, same with the previous girl that i assassinated
He has nothing
Don't stress about it too much.
I spent several days playing as Morrowind picking my brain about why I couldn't press strong claims. Turns out, the mod was just bugged.
If I restarted the game, or played as anyone else, I could press claims just fine.
The chick before him had no husband, and i have no more churches to give
I will just assume its this, but i need the battlemages
I might just spawn in some cash and create a building somewhere else that gives mages
Well, Persia has a lot of events and decisions that speed things up. I'd say becoming a GP(I have 136, not that far off) is a first priority, as some neat decisions will open up and my income won't be syphoned by the Albion. I'm encouraging muh intellectuals and trying to make Turkmenistan a state, so there's that. I'll probably focus on the industry when my economy starts running a profit, good thing I have some coal and iron RGOs
The British Indian army did most of the job. I think the fact my alliance had 220 military points whereas the Russian had less than 100 was also a factor. I just captured the objective as quick as I could and tried to defend on the mountains near the Caucasus. Fuck Romanians, though.
I know, but fighting the brits won't be easy, I don't plan on attacking Afghanistan nor Kalat until I manage to keep up with the military techs
I just said i have no more churches, that's literally the only one i have, i only have about 5 places under my control spread through 4 provinces
I will try and take it away from him, then take the vassal under him away too, then give the chapel to some other guy while retaining the other territory in the province
This just fixed it
Does anyone know some way i can take the territory of vassals without killing/banishing them?
Those two vassals are pretty good, so i would like to give them back again after taking them, so no negative relationship (Or at least a large amount for too long)
Hopefully some type of console command?
Is there not some mod i could use to do this without killing them?
If there is no other way i am going to have to have to find some new nibenean guy from another court as the few remaining in mine are shit, i cant spawn any more in as i am dunmer and my goal is to make a nibenean/dunmer kingdom
Fuck yeah, I can already see all this incoming dosh.
They only won a battle against me, I had to retreat my army or I'd have lost it.
Its was 30k vs my 27k on hills, I was still getting my ass beaten
1. Is it possible to release states in Victoria 2 without giving them territories you have a core on? For example, if I'm playing as Austria and want to release Croatia, can I do so without giving them Pola?
2. What are the requirements to create Italy as Austria in HPM?
New Eu4 dev diary
Fuck fuck fuck, why did I even accept to the call to arms? I gain absolutely nothing out of it. Maybe I'll be able to get Afghanistan out of the british sphere, at least. I could be blobbing into Russia right now, they are super weak.
Nope, but getting there I guess
Later, there are many countries separating us and I have other priorities too, I want to get a somewhat decent navy before doing that too. Do I have to use cut down to size or punitive expedition?
Force Russia to release it or release it yourself. If you want to release it yourself, I recommend releasing Ukraine and then Ruthenia, as the latter will then integrate into the former.
But all that can be offset by sending spies to study technology in other countries
It's all connected, of course
If the admiral is not tied up designing better ships he can spend his time watching the royal princess fuck
Punitive expedition is basically a cut down to size + treaty port via decision, and you could use the UK to beat them up. You should've taken Khasab as well, you get a tax bonus from controlling Qeshm and Khasab as you'd control the entirety of the Persian Gulf.
How the fuck am I even managing to win these? Are mountains really that great in defense That swede-led army had 50k troops too, vs my 27k stack, and I don't even have a defense general
>You should've taken Khasab as well, you get a tax bonus from controlling Qeshm and Khasab as you'd control the entirety of the Persian Gulf.
Oh, I didn't know that, thanks desu. Maybe I'll get it later
>and I don't even have a defense general
That's odd, in my Persia save the same thing kept happening to me. I even had +5.0 attack generals, but not a single one with 3.0 defense, 2.0 by your timeframe.
Also, when you backstab the UK, make sure they'll release the Trucial States for Bahrain and Qatar, there's a decision to get free cores on them and they have some ebin tax modifiers as well.
I'm getting sick of Parakeks' shit. They seem to be putting less and less effort into their games. What are some good GSG games made by another developer?
>Inbreds who went from "premier power in Europe" to "literally less relevant than Belgium" on first place
>Country that has been relevant for half a century or so on second place
>Backwads island that didn't reach prominence until mid-late colonization on third place
>Europe's backwards cousin on fifth place
>Rome, Greece, France, Spain and Germany, Egypt and Mesopotamia, inexplicably missing from the list
>enforced sprite usage
This game is definitely going to be shit
>b-but look at the counters we made you!
Johan this is not a counter this is a pile of shit
Italy isn't formable externally, nor is the NGF
Arabia is kinda of a fabrication, so is yemen, the only one that is correct is Argentina but then again, it's just joining pieces together since the confederation already exists
Yugoslavia is the antithesis of a national unification.
The SGF is just a byproduct, not the national unification itself (that being germany) that is only formable externally through Austria.
Why do HOI4 province borders look so fucking disgusting?
What do? Was Cromwell based or a shitlord? Becoming a republic seems fun.
Take in mind I'm catholic and annexed France (plan to annex Brittany and Netherlands when I get more admin efficiency).
Where did Parakeks get the idea that republican dictatorships had a tolerance of heathens?
I mean, the only two republican dictatorships of the era I can think of were Cromwell's UK and Revolutionary France before Napoopan and I wouldn't make the claim that any of those two governments were particulary tolerant
>don't want to play as yet another strong European country
>can't git gud enough to play a weaker European or non-European nation
Basically, I fucking suck at warfare, and can only win if I have massive a advantage in numbers or technology. When I try to use the terrain to my advantage or micromanage my army like quill18 or arumba, I just fucking fail.
Has anyone else noticed that Paradox has been getting a lot more shekel-heckle with their expansions?
As I recall, every feature in Conquest of Paradise was free, even for people without the expansion, except for the random new world option and playing as a colonial nation.
Just looking at the recent dev diaries, there are so many features in the Cossacks that seem like they should be free. The improved espionage, for example.
I was asking which one looks best you oversensitive tool. Yes, obviously, I do value other users opinion in that regard. Its not like you can switch half way through a game well it starts spitting out genetic abominations without the game throwing a fit due to not being able to reference files it was using.
Who shat in your cereal this morning?
desu i don't even like the portraits, but i don't like stock portraits either.
Nothing wrong with spamming numbers & using tech advantages, end-game ends up as fighting other nations with quality/offensive/defensive ideas so you've just got to try to have better generals or be playing nations with ideas to buff their armies
>iron guard romania
>imperial dictatorship japan
>partido socialista chile
>megali idea greece
why paradox likes meme-names so much?
>germany called me to fight on their side
Should I do it? I have uncontested cores there, but I guess fighting the brits and the russians while being this close to India would be hell on Earth.
Are you bloody sure m8? Not pictured: 45k British troops in the southern tip of India and 66 more Russian troops strolling through my northern border in Uzbekstan
What's the CB that started it?
>Germany, Italy and Japan on one side
>Russia + UK + France on the other
>Russian liberation of Lithuania
>Russia + UK + France
Ok, let's do this. I feel like I'll deeply regret this decision
What modifiers should I edit in Victoria 2 so that colonial migration isn't zero for countries in the Americas and Oceania? I want to release some civilized dominions but I haven't had a single pop move to any of my colonies for forty years.
damn bohemians dont' deserve these priceless artifacts
Wiz here, Cromwell actually sided with the catholics in Ireland to try and get a support base, so a Protestant England under Cromwell supporting Catholics makes perfect sense.
My first game desu lads. Playing as Japan and kind of a pussy, how'd I do?
>the words are one and the same
this is wrong
>download victoria 2 for first time on new PC
>game crashes one second after starting up
how fix, literally everything from google dont work
inb4 map cache meme, the game dont even make one it crashes so fast
Hate when I'm on the other side of the Gas defense thing, this shit isn't balanced
Heathen and infidel can be used interchangably, but the former usually refers to pagans/unrelated religions and the latter mostly between Christians and Muslims (it literally means "unfaithful," so it implies they had the chance to worship correctly). Heretic refers specifically to members of the same religion who believe in significantly "wrong" doctrine which corrupts the true meaning. Protestants are heretics in the eyes of Catholics for example, their disbelief in the godliness of the Pope being heretical.
I did, second thing I've researched after getting the research bonus one. I had the max amount of discovery of it by month possible too, but I only discovered gas attack after they wiped my whole army, I wasn't that behind to get absolutely blown the fuck fuck out while defending in the mountains. I'm only complain by my lack of luck.
That's happening because you still have a truce with them from the last war, you're meant to use all the CBs in one war by adding the CBs during the war, you're not meant to grab a state, end the war, declare war again, because you lose 100 prestige for breaking the truce.
It's easy af
Beating Russia is another story though as they keep sending stacks and get no war exhaustion, but it's pretty easy to beat allieless Ottomans and even the Brits in the 1910s. Ally Japan and Germany and get one state from Russia at a time unless it's one of those saves where they crumble in front of thousands of revolutions.
Industry and military score wise, you should hold on to their top 8 easily as well, and you can get +500 prestige in the 1920s without prestige spamming at all.
Does my wife need to like me to give me babies? I have no heir and my lower just gave me a bastard daughter which I denounced but my wife still hates me
blob slower so they won't hate you as much
What's the current status on EUIV?
Last I played was like a year ago. I had a fun time, but got bored of it eventually. Worth going back to? Any recent improvements, anything upcoming in the near future?
Went to uni and left my gaming pc at home, bringing only a MS Surface with me. It's garbage for playing gs. Never realized that my brief escape from things was gs. Now there is just a void that tv and books fail to fill because they lack the interactivity of gaming.
>implying I give a f*ck (fuck) about what you think
>waste all your money paying (read: bribering) your way to uni
>go live in a republic with your shitty laptop
>can't buy a new computer because bribery bills
>can't escape reality
>get shot by yourself
It's a culture thing, open up the cultures file in the mod folder and near Yankee or whatever culture you should see something that says is_overseas=no
Erase that and your pops will flood into your colonies.
ale najpierw musze pograć w wiktorie na moim nowym komputerze
jest tu nas przynajmniej czterech, kolego.
So I formed england quite quickly as Wessex, it's my first game and I'm pretty chuffed. I thought I was doing OK but when I became king I have these 2 problems I have no clue how to deal with...
When I click on my character it says my heir is my half brother but when I click on my wife it says her heir is the king of Francia (who is my old ally).
What will happen when I die?
And how do I stop the petitioners.
And finally how do I cut one of my dukes down to size - I just finished a war to claim all of Mercia but the enemy in that war, after peace, still got to keep his big-ass duchy you should be able to see it in pic related.
Pudło. Nie jestem stamtąd.
Pic related to protip
Scandinavia managed to win their great holy war against Scotland while I was distracted crusading in southern France. Just when I thought I was ready to begin my liberation of Iberia, this shit happens.
anglo-saski chamie klękaj przed słowiańskim panem
Geez you guys are already in a circlejerk and the game hasn't even come out!
So, this happened 3 years into the game, this is my 2nd play of ck2. Is this normal to happen?
I did a save converter from CK2 to EU4 and I wish to go full autism and make my own ideas and traditions since I noticed Tartaria only ends up with National ones
what must I do that is just short of going custom nations and taking all the provinces?
Persia should own modern-day Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, south-east Turkey, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Georgia, Dagestan and North Ossetia.
I got around an old request about accepting natives. It also solves the problems about immigrants assimilating in native cultures as the act will give some time for all countries to have the primary culture spread enough.
Maybe I will add a few more requirements like an UH that is enough liberal/socialist and some money spending too.
Right now the decision only takes into account natives in your core territories and it can be used only once per country. It means that if you conquer Canada as Brazil, Inuits will not be accepted if you use this decision, unless they move to the amazon. Any natives living in core territory, however, will be considered a country true native and will become accepted.
The beauty of the model is that I don't need to create a decision for each country. One decision will take care of all the natives.
For now, Dixie, Yankee and Texan countries are the only ones excluded from the decision. The country needs to have their capital in americas too.
The Métis are a part of the decision too, I don't remember if they get accepted normally in Canada through normal events, but the decision doesn't repeat itself, so it excludes any accepted cultures.
>HPM, why doesn't Zulu get South African cores even when the UK conqueres it, but Lesotho and Swazi does?
I don't know how Rylock did that the way it did, but I'm pretty sure all Zulu land ends up being a core one way or the other.
>Also, when will you start working on the Triple Alliance war? Paraguay needs to become OP in case they win desu
Not anytime in the future. I stopped work in SA just before it, but I need to fix a lot of stuff in Chile and the Pacific War and the venezuelan crisis of 1895 before I think to do it, since it's the last big event in south america.
The result of the war in case of a paraguayan victory will be the end of the nation being landlocked, which will open it up for mass immigration.
I-it's beautiful. It was a 1 on 1 war btw (with Austria having their entire sphere).
has anyone successfully formed an empire in ck2?
How did you do it? blobbing is actually quite hard in that game and especially so if you want to blob quickly
and fuckin 8000 prestige is a whole lot
Marriage. That's literally it, marriage, intrigue and dynastic intrigue. You can start as count in Iceland and get your descendant to be emperor of all of Europe. In theory it's the absolute best part of the Ck2 but in practice I, at least, often find it extremely annoying and boring.
yeah but you can't actually fucking go to war with anyone unless they meet specific conditions.
I mean, you can fabricate claims but that's one province every 15 years.
It's only easy to blob as pagan and even then it sucks.
After a very hard-fought war against A-H, I got Romania's cores back.
With my balkan allies, I hope to provoke a balkan war against the turk and kick them out of Europe
Yeah, but CBs and peace "negotiations" suck ass, you have to take each province individually or spend half of your characters life in fabricating claims and then pressing them.
I did, I'm waiting for fascism to appear to exploit the revanchism these cores give me.
As an interesting note, Poland conquered Galicia without any allies.
so everytime i try to give designated heir title to someone nothing happens? my expected heir is a count so i'll have to leave the republic when my current character dies which is fucking annoying
Jesus dude, never give your wife land in your own realm...she doesn't need it, she's there to squeeze out kids.
You know to keep one duchy for yourself, controlling all the lordships and baroness in that duchy? Upgrade the fuck out of that duchy, make it a primary and your heir will always have it unless you go elective and don't keep the Lords happy. Use it as your powerbase to ensure you always have decent personal levy to pull.
Give out everything else to lowborn commoners with good stewardship. ONE TITLE EACH. Once king level, hand out your spare duchy titles too. Only give them to someone that is, de-jure, a part of that duchy. Never give them to random schmucks on the other side of the realm, no matter how much you like them.
Thats about all you need to know to keep your realm stable, relative free from infighting, free from overly powerful vassals, and keep most Lords on good relations with you.
>"Celebrations have rang out all over the Union as the people celebrate the anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot, led by Guy Fawkes."
>The result of the war in case of a paraguayan victory will be the end of the nation being landlocked, which will open it up for mass immigration.
Can't wait desu, it'll be Parana won't it?
It'd be nice if it got Mato Grosso do Sul's borders as well
What would happen to Uruguay though?
I really don't understand this Greek Nigeria blob meme desu
Every Greek playthrough has it, while it'd make a lot more sense to colonize Ethiopia, Alexandria, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunis, Ghana, Gabon or
It's time "to blow you Scotch beggars back to your native mountains."
Nigeria has Warri, which drowns you in money. The rest was just some expansion to sustain a bigger army to fight the ottomans. Although I like how the borders there are rivers and not straight lines
>Guy Fawkes (/ˈɡaJ ˈfɔːks/; 13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606),[a] also known as Guido Fawkes, the name he adopted while fighting for the Spanish
>also known as Guido Fawkes
I created this empire before fully understanding which army compositions are ideal,if I tried this again I could probably kick out Europeans from Africa.
Being military incompetent aside that was a pretty neat game,I had almost monopoly on high tech industry (cars, telephones, planes)
Alas I cannot play this month because of exams
I wish my latin american country would research that tech already.
Poor AI Italy, its always on the way of becoming strong as fuck when united but gets buttfucked because it gets involved on wars too soon after their unification.
That's actually pretty acurate though
>celebrating the downfall of the final chance your nation had at lasting success
brits are scum
I want to make a gsg, and I'm mainly leading towards the cold war theme(due to east vs west), but I feel I won't be able to do it justice if it ever comes around. What other themes would be good? Vicky clone also doesn't seem like a good idea since vicky 3 is probably coming after hoi4 and I'd be wasting the window
I never played the tutorial and thought it was like EU3 where you can win wars by throwing masses of infantry at people.
I learned the ropes of combat by playing Mexico and luring Americans into killzones.
We recently had a guy try to make a gsg, he posted some maps of the USA with pops and resources then fucked off. Before that was a dude who made a game set in polynesia and it was a command-prompt game with letters as islands(anyone else remember?). And before that there was obviously the guys who tried to make EvW playable but they fucked off early on too.
May as well fuck off lad.
yeah, also considering I'm what /agdg/ calls an "enginedev"
it's too early to fuck off though
I have to get something up and running then I'd be eligible for fucking off
Aren't these all outdated or unused? Why not replace with relevant mods like that CK2 one that put christian sects in india (Nesrani mod I think) or something?
Who /lat/ here?
Most people won't agree with me, but anyway, I'd love a modern day grand strategy if it's actually well thought. Most modern say games don't seem to go much further in anything and end up boring due to how simple they are.
>not using tradicional cavalry like a true hardcore strategist
Reminder that using dragoons and hussars is, by definition, cheating, and you should both end yourselves
Is my game broken? It says USA starts at #10 spot as secondary power and not at its usual spot as a Great Power. Instead the Ottomans start higher up and Netherlands is #8
Well, I guess "is" is redundant, it is, but how and why? I played a USA game and I as far as I remember I started as a GP and even the wiki says it starts as a GP.
I downloaded the game from the OP, does the OP use some mod that downgrades USA? I'd like to know because I want to play as the UK and focus of my campaign was to be the US but if US starts as a secondary then I can just sphere them and that's way too easy.
so I'm making my own idea group for EU4 right
I'm looking at these tags such as RUS and FRA, since Tartaria is a custom nation. To make my own ideas how do I get tags for them?
There's both "ideas" and "custom_ideas" folders in common folder in your EU4 folder. Go in there and fuck with whatever you want. Quick scan of the files also confirms that you can modify countries, technologies (including starting year and cost) and country colors. I'd imagine tech groups are defined in there somewhere as well though I can't be bothered to find them.
if you mean "Vicky like political map mode overlayed over geographic map mode" there isn't in base game but there's mod that pretty much mandatory to make the game look not shit if you want it.
Can anyone post some old map that used to be posted on these threads showing "the circle of European civilization" or something like that, showing what was civilized or not in Europe in typical /pol/ fashion
It only included the southern tip of England and Sweden, Northern Italy, nothing in Spain, shit like that, I can't remember the details
I think it was an old map, too, not some shitposter's content
No? if you mean EU3 like diplomat spam they removed that during development of EU4 and now you only have the two diplomats (or few more, depending on country type and level and ideas)
No clue what you mean, this is the closest I can think of.
Wait. what? Did ching chong actually make a history... board? IS IT REALLY REAL?
it used to be the most respected game on here but then some retards came and ruined it all. Personally I blame the argies and aussies. As soon as they started coming in large numbers it all went to shitposting.
So lads I've been a week away from /gsg/
What I've lost?
load up the game, and type "debug_info" into the console, then hover over one a province of the country you're interested in and as part of the tooltip it should show you the country tag - for france it would be "FRA" for russia "RUS" - then find this tag in the text documents and edit the ideas for them
>mediterreaneans in Britain
I've heard about shipwrecked sailors from the Spanish Armada settling in Britain, but I wouldn't expect anything that severe.
And how the hell can Slavs or Finns be considered Alpine?
HPM guy have you thought of doing some events for the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonderbund_War? It might make a rather interesting set of events for the Swiss who seem a bit lacking compared to other Euro states.
Look anon, don't waste your time. I believe he's just baiting. It will all go over the same excuses
>But I say muh game is more complex so it's gs
>EU4 is 4x
>4x and GS is the same thing
>But civilization was accepted here before!
>This is paradox general because you don't accept my classic 4x game
As someone that got into 4x after playing Paradox games and being here for a long time, I just have to say: 4x general is comfy as fuck.
No wonder they split from you autistic fucks.
The two communities definitely needed segregated. When there was any Civ posted here, there was always some autistic fuck going off on them for playing an "inferior game" and harassing people to play Vicky 2 ... as if anyone takes advice from some uppity tard who just shitposted and shat on your game.
Its the same with some people still here, a lot of them have some sort of fucking autism about "Grand Strategy" games, and get on like they're the highest form of entertainment possible. they seem to be completely incapable of understanding that if the mood takes you, there are other genres to play that are enjoyable with their own goals. I only dread to think what some of the, shall we say, "most spergy" Vicky 2 posters do with their spare time when they're not in the mood to play it. Probably go and fap off in bookstores to atlases or some shit.
Anyway, I enjoy both, they both have their merits and downsides, just depends on what mood you're in.
>/his/ and warhammer killed /twg/
>/4xg/ still dead
>/gsg/ remains comfy
Vicky 2 is a great game and definitely up there in my game of the year of all years list, but after 2 fucking thousand hours, it feels like there is nothing else to milk out of it.
So I'm at war with the hre emperor and it's been going on for ages, I've fully sieged half of italy, his capital and destroyed his armies constantly and even had enough time to assasinate about 4 hre emperors then I noticed the warscore was actually going down and i've got -100% emperor still controls the holy roman emperor, what does it even fucking mean do i have to literally siege every province
No, Entre-Rios, whoch was one of their ambitions. They would porbably cement their posistion in Mato Grosso too.
Dunno about Uruguay. Probably a puppet? I will do a peace treaty event to handle it all, so there will be more than one option.
There's not really a good way to represent that, I thought about it a few times. I'd like to do it without new tags, but that would be impossible
Damn this goes a long way to explaining why there's so many fucking useless puppet states in your mod if you seriously can't imagine a way to represent a civil war without adding in tags.
Just make a fucking custom rebel type jesus christ.
1. Rome [it shaped what we know as occidental world]
3. UK and Spain [tie]
4. Han China [Oriental equivalent for Rome]
Is this even a joke?
>inb4 OOGA BOOGA ICH AM ROMISCHES EMPEROR! ICH AM NOT GERMAN NIGGER ICH AM ROMAN! ICH RAID!
Germans in general would be the European equivalent of Mexicans... if Mexicans were treated as farm animals/things instead of shitty human beings.
>Not allowed to link to Github repositories on the Paradox forums anymore
This upsets me.
None of the cantons seceded or even wanted political independence, create an event where a province with a Catholic majority can get a modifier that jacks up militancy and rebel growth and and a custom rebel type, when they win force a conservative government with some sort of administrative efficiency malus to represent decentralization. Boom there you go dynamic Sonderbund without forcing it to be railroaded or adding in useless tags. Have some imagination.
I've done something similar with them and it's not that bad desu
>take the university reform first
>take the productivity NV
>westernize in the 1860s
>decide the priorities will be education up to biologism, aesthetics, naval bases, railroads, chemistry and occasionaly forts
>suck up Japan until they take me off the French sphere and add me
>go on a punitive expedition against China where Japan does all the work
>they win it for me, but I don't take any treaty port, so I basically cut them down to size for less than 5 infamy
>kickstart industry, build railroads, forts and naval bases with Chinese blood
>fully fund soldiers and piss off my people for healthcare reforms until I can afford 10 brigades
>see Zanzibar survived the Scramble, but just the islands; the rest were already German colonies
>build a naval base there
>start building a shitload of frigates as they'll be my infantry for the rest of the game
>proceed to Ironclads after a while
>secondary power mainly to prestige and boats
Sure I got bored and gave up then, but it really isn't as bad as it looks. If I wanted I think I could take the French and Brittish Islands all around the Indian Ocean and end up in the top 8 industry for building factories on foreign soil with Chinese money by endgame, as well as top 10 military and top 2 prestige. It sure was an interesting playthrough, I'll probably finish it off this weekend.
One went from an Empire where the sun never sets to a bunch of islands where the sun never rises.
The other had 2/3 of the Americas at its hands and let it slip away... and Portugal... and soon Catalonia.
Both went to shit.
Dear HPM, or whoever else has modding experience:
What exactly is it that defines a state as a slave state or though? South Carolina has a bunch of slaves defined in the POP file, but for whatever reason they aren't a slave state in-game. I thought at first I just had to alter the province files, but even though I put
is_slave = yes
in both provinces, SC still isn't a slave state. What do I do?
All I care about is how lazy a solution it is to interesting problems
>How do I model X
>I'll explore the options available to me and try to jerry rig a system together, maybe I'll learn something new about how the game works
>I'll just add another puppet state
They couldn't seceded because they weren't centralized.
> or even wanted political independence
Sonderbund literally means "Separatist League".
Making it just a "conservative government with some sort of administrative efficiency malus to represent decentralization" is just a shoddy, lazy work to represent a separatist push and war. This kind of lazy work is not something I want in HPM.
I hope you're happy /gsg/. Tomorrow I'll work on it more. Give me ideas for flavor today and I'll do it all.
Oh and if anybody has all of the Nowa Polska pictures, send them to me so when I finish this minimod, I can make a hopefully close copy.
>They couldn't secede because they weren't centralized
literally what? They could have tried to declare independence, withdrawn from the federation, forcibly separated themselves from the rest of the cantons, they didn't. What the words literally mean in German is irrelevant when what they were trying to do wasn't leave Switzerland but stop Switzerland from changing into a more centralized state, representing that with separate tags would be ridiculous.
That solution was 30 seconds of brainstorming without having modded vicky in a few months, if you feel like you can come up with something better please do, don't just slap in extra tags and some railroaded events or call it impossible because you can't think of anything though.
In Vicky 2, if you make entire armies filled with soldiers of a certain ethnic group, and those armies get slaughtered, does that ethnic pop go down in numbers corresponding to how many were in the army? Asking for a Serbian friend.
Or any thoughts on some more additions to the UK possibly some more alt paths for colonel expansion like rather then a great game with Russia competing with France over SEA? Or trying to take cali.
Yes, each pop is its own person, so if a Serbian potato farmer becomes a soldier the amount of potato farmers goes down and if potato soldier dies then the number of Serbs goes down.
Nope. Even separating them in two states don't stop the UK from really wanting it.
IIRC just putting slave pops is enough.
They couldn't seceded because they weren't part of a union. They were separatists, the separatist league.
That's the point.
>What the words literally mean in German is irrelevan
Ok, if you think calling yourself "Separatist League" doesn't mean you want that, I guess it's alright, you can believe in whatever you want. By the way, when they didn't want to leave the federal pact they called themselves Schutzvereinigung: Defense Union, but I guess they thought calling themselves "Separatist League" would be more appropriate for someone who doesn't want to secede than Defense Union
>call it impossible because you can't think of anything though.
I said it's impossible to do a good solution without adding new tags. Of course I could do some lazy shit like you suggested, but that's not I want.
>overcomplicated and railroaded events and modifiers
>retarded starting vassals based on biased historical accuracy and 'they don't have much pops so its ok to add them' mentality
>most of them were nowhere near autonomous just a fucking region or some shitty tribe in the middle of the desert
Good to see more and more people call out bloatpms bullshit
I've been off /gsg/ for a month or two (real life shit, playing fighting games, other things people don't care about).
People still care about that playthrough? It was just some silly fun and I've done the same thing literally dozens of times.
I didn't, I was planning on a whole big thing of taking it, maybe another silly meme playthrough,
and adding it to plus finishing what I have for Companymod V2and adapting it from NNM/vickymod based to an HPM minimod. But then I didn't.
army casualties result in real pop deaths, however, the number of soldier pops removed is smaller than the casualties, and gets even smaller as you research the chemistry techs
