If we're being smart about it, none of this gear in the Explorations matters at all. I just wanna see how low my GCDs can get. S'not like I do any content that you need accuracy for these days.
baka desu senpai
Kururu is actually Krile's japanese name, so Krile being a Lalafell makes sense, and more of a joke.
Still, instant cast ninjitsus would be a thing. Just press one button to execute suiton, it would be a overall DPS increase if you don't have to waste your time pressing each mudra individually.
mfw it's going to be worse than before.
Story will reveal she was a villain the entire time.
>mfw one ffxiv patch has almost the content of one WoW expansion
>Krile's hoodie is going to be a cash shop exclusive in 3.2
>woke up realizing I put the event off over and over
>never did get around to doing it
>WP high roulette
>play as BRD
>have a MNK in group
>someone is new
>it's the healer
>Lala DRK tank pulls all mobs before last boss
>doesn't wait for healer
>dies after a while
>we finish the rest
>tank says he expected a LB
Yeah, not my problem if you're a rushfag.
I'm really looking forwards to trying the new hairs out and no one else liking any of them on me.
In all seriousness though the Airship hunts stuff sounds like it'll be super fun to do with buddies to just relax and have fun. I'm hoping it's as chill as it sounds.
Patch 3.1 is pretty big. There's more things added than "literally" 2 new dungeons and a raid.
You can buy it for 1 gil from a Moogle vendor in the three city-states, but I'm not sure if they're around any more.
>Players may ride mounts in Idyllshire.
Because this place needed to be even more annoying.
Glad to hear. I will get some time to play around the holidays, hopefully
>[3.0] Players can now exchange Allagan tomestones of law for the following items:
>A Knight to Remembe/Wall-mounted/800
>Not sucking the FC leader's cock to get a guaranteed spot in airship voyages
Stage a mutiny. This is the most political patch SE has given us yet.
Overthrow the unjust. Give your fellow FC members a better future.
>shout chat in the "parsing is illegal" shitfest for the thousandth time
>now i gotta watch assholes in magitek armor blow things up like it's osama bin laden's birthday bash
>lalafells dressed up as mario blocking vendors with their fat chocobos
PUT ME IN COACH I'M READY
The airships can depart every 20 minutes, while there's a 120 minute cooldown on entering a voyage. You only need one FC member present in the party to launch an exploratory mission, and you can bring up to 24 people in an alliance.
If you're still getting excluded when they're that freely available, that's not your FC forming a clique, that's your FC trying to drop the hint that they don't like YOU, specifically, and are waiting for you to leave the FC on your own so they don't have to forcibly kick you themselves.
>Clan mark logs obtained from hunts can be exchanged with Bertana in Idyllshire (X:5 Y:5) for the following items:
>Illuminati Gobtwine / Carboncoat / Wyvern Horn
AHAHAHAHA. THEY JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE DO THEY?
ALEXANDER IS LITERALLY USELESS LES THAN ONE PATCH AWAY FROM IT'S RELEASE.
FUCK THIS GAME.
>remove a skill from global cooldown.
Here your dps increase.
>B-but I want to do 1100 dps like warrior, pls nerf war
24 man LFR tier Void Ark
A minigame no one will play after 5 days
I think even WoW had more when WoD was released with
1 raid with 12 bosses
Faction Daily Quests
8 heroic dungeons
I dunno man, i don't know where you get these facts from, i'm by no means defending WoW because it's shit, but this game's content really doesn't live up to what you just implied.
The extra hours come from making backups of all the datacenters, making sure the log in server and game world servers aren't horribly broken after patching them, and then sitting on their asses until it's time to deploy the patch to the launchers.
You know what's worse? Buying the Workshop, spending money and projects then ending up leaving/getting kicked out of the FC because how obnoxious the other members have become.
Did they just invalidate the airship exploration on arrival? I mean since you can get the shit from alex savage to upgrade your gear now from hunts there is no reason to do alex savage or airship exploration.
gg making me want to go back to FFXI or find a new mmo at this point.
Exploration is the new Bisex, dead on arrival.
Still, I never hunted before.
Looks like they invalidated Hunts by making airship exploration a faster way to get i210 gear that can have drastically superior stats, isn't attached to a weekly Esoteric cap, and isn't limited to a single job unless you're a melee DPS.
>you can now buy in-game the dye available on Mogstation
I did it xivg, i've healed, tanked and outdpsed everyone on expert.
please kill me
>My full edge glamour is no longer dependent on rng.
Going to fucking cost a lot though.
Casuals aren't going to care about the rng on secondary stats and the hardcore won't care in end because of Alex Savage and hunts.
The only thing I can see exploration appeal to are the FFXIfags who loved their rngness.
Alex Savage is also dead too since casuals don't give a fuck about savage.
It is a lot of things, but still
Guess I'll just watch Symphogear, been on backlog for months.
That's what you get for leveling a boring healbot class. That's like complaining that you have nothing to do but heal as a holy priest in WoW.
>level as scholar
>my fairy pretty much keeps the tank alive on her own
>throw an aoe heal when the boss does raid damage or something
>dps 90% of the time
>beat all the shitter dps on damage
>all this QoL
>all this fresh air
mm, so good!
you look.. oddly familiar, dear..
>there is no reason to do alex savage
kind of, but there is tomes to receive and loot as well. once people are better geared and less scared to step foot into it, a lot more people might be doing it.
>there is no reason to do... airship exploration.
people can do hunts if they dont have an fc/airships
it wouldnt be fair, and i think fcs would explode with new people flooding in
personally im glad, hunts are FUN as FUCK and i love doing them. im glad it gets a breath of life, and im not sure what to do first after MSQ!
its good, dont worry.
I've been meaning to check Symphogear, but the entire singing and gggrrrrllll powa turns me on.
I imagine it would be what would happen if you mixed High School Musical with feminism.
Then again I've been known to enjoy weirder animes such as Death Parade and Owari no Seraph.
bard and mch are basically on the most level playing field out of every other class type at the moment.
you can really bring either one, and its not a bad idea to have both because itd make you a really nice commodity. bards have pros cons as well as mch, but they can both do some pretty solid dps
Paladin is not good and won't be good until 3.2 at the minimum, and Astrologian isn't exactly weak but struggles to really synergize with the other two healing classes.
Neither are so bad that they'll hold you back in a meaningful way from anything other than early progression.
WoW raids are a joke these days.
Mythic world first raiders fucking use DBM to explain every boss mechanic to them as they go through the fight.
If you like playing as a hybrid style and want to be able to do good dps while you have nothing to heal, you should like it.
You can switch to scholar on the same character, but you will have to level it from level 1. Also the base class is called "arcanist". It shares levels with summoner, which means that you also get a dps class for free. Scholar and summoner are two different specializations of the arcanist class.
Comparing to WoW, scholar has the dots of a warlock (like 4 of them), can spread it to all enemies with a single button press, has the shields of a discipline priest while having a smart healing fairy like a shaman totem that can keep a tank alive in easier content while you dps.
You can, but you can also dps just fine on conjurer.
To become a Scholar you need to get Conjurer to 15 anyway.
Since you already meet that prerequisite swap over to Arcanist, level that to 30 (it's a DPS class unfortunately) and then you can become a Scholar.
Every serious XIV raider uses advanced combat tracker's warning feature that does literally the same as DBM. Gives you a sound warning when the boss starts casting an important ability.
1. Lots don't use ACT triggers for boss scripts at all
2. There's a pretty big fucking difference between a timer going "Ding" when a specific line of text happens in the combat log, and an onscreen meter that's counting down eight different things at any given time in addition to specifically adding text in the middle of the screen that tells you exactly what to do
>Dusk Vigil on roulette
>get leveling BLM and NIN
>and a WHM in full eso with a mix of gordian, eso and law(upgraded) accessories(but a law staff for some reason)
>both BLM and NIN perform about typical for their jobs, nothing remarkable
>but the WHM
>nothing but heal spam
>not even an Aero
>in the entire instance
>he does a total of... 0 damage
My ears were bloody ringing from that cure noise at the end.
>tfw cant wait to close the bench due to aids
The world progression raiders, much like the video the anon linked, use ACT triggers for basically everything, from boss cds to when it's about to happen, etc.
With that said, both WoW and XIV are shit as fuck at this point and the MMO genre (apart for BnS's PvP) is literally dying in front of our eyes.
It's sad to witness.
Yes, and nothing happens in tandem. In Warcraft adds are spawning with their own ability sets while the boss is crushing your tank or dispensing raid damage. The two aren't comparable
Do not forget to max your eso before monday anon.
Again have you never seen the last phase of A3s, the last phase even says it there. Protean + Drainage + Throttle's going out, etc. The last phase is a clusterfuck of mechanics, same with twister with magnets + tethers going out at the same time as silence/stuns need to happen.
It's on console, it is more playable than ps3, but enjoy your 20 fps.
Not really, just amused to how i still managed to top dps while healing myself, the tank and the monk cause i kept getting aggro and monk kept getting on aoes.
>muh a4s wahhh
>PLD still best tank outside savage
Buff WAR and DRK.
You can honestly say the same thing for that archimode clear though.
Watching games and playing games are 100% different, I can watch a WoW raid and tell whats going on the entire time, but its completely different from actually play it.
Also no there are no bots that will play your class for you,
this isn't wow :^)
PLD buffs aside
>asts expecting another huge buff
>they only let you spam cards outside of instance and then carry them inside
10/10 SE, that only saves 5 mins of the 1st pull of the day.
>lowest damage output
>lowest threat output
>only unique feature - shield - completely useless against magic damage
>no better mitigation than the other tanks despite being touted as the "tankiest" tank
>Also no there are no bots that will play your class for you, this isn't wow :^)
So is using some kind of script?
Anyway I don't really know A3S so I can really tell if they're doing it right or not, but I can tell you that Method do make what would be extremely difficult for the average person, look extremely easy.
Yeah, prior to HW there were no Abilities that had any resource cost other than their own cooldown, and I'm pretty sure that even in HW DRK is the only job with skills like that, but it's still not a strict rule.
Napkin math on how the new Shield Swipe will work out in regards to PLD DPS:
- The range of GCD-based damage on Paladin will typically range from a low of GB-RoH-RoH (combos) to a high of GB-RA-RA. That averages out to a range between 238 and 255 potency-per GCD.
- Spirits Within is 300 potency on a 30s cooldown, Circle of Scorn is 250 potency on a 25s cooldown. So they're both 10 potency-per-second, which (at a standard 2.4s GCD) totals out to 48 potency-per-GCD.
- Sword Oath, if it's active, delivers a 50 potency attack (the actual auto-attacks use a different damage formula, but the Sword Oath bonus uses the standard one), roughly every 2 seconds, depending on your weapon. So that's around 25 potency-per-second, if you're in Sword Oath, and around 60 potency-per-GCD.
- The new Shield Swipe, assuming you can use it on cooldown (which is a fairly safe assumption) is going to be 150 potency, on a 15s cooldown, totaling out to the same 10 potency-per-second as Spirits Within and Circle of Scorn - an additional 24 potency-per-GCD.
So theoretically, your Shield Oath damage range in 3.0 is 286-303 potency-per-GCD (not counting auto-attacks, or the 20% damage penalty), and in 3.1 will be raised to 310-327. That's roughly an 8% increase to your non-autoattack Shield Oath damage (which I'd ballpark at about a 6% overall Shield Oath DPS boost).
Your Sword Oath potency-per-GCD range in 3.0 is 346-363, and in 3.1 that'll go up to 370-387. Sword Oath's damage dampens the relative boost you get, but it's still a 6.5-7% boost to non-autoattack (remembering that Sword Oath is not an auto-attack despite triggering ON auto-attacks) damage. That's probably going to amount to about a 5% increase in Sword Oath DPS.

>So is using some kind of script?
Nah I'm just messing with you, I really dont think he's using a script or anything, autofire at most but that would do nothing for you.
>look extremely easy.
Yeah that is pretty much any clear video for a lot of raid content.
On a clear video everything has been smoothed out for the most part, and you're only looking at the success aspects. People are doing mechanics right and already know how to perform said mechanics, you don't see the weeks on weeks of progression they do to get to that point.
A3S is fairly difficult, in terms of the DPS check that goes into how tight mechanics must be performed to keep perfect uptime in early progression. I would honestly say it is not harder than some WoW mythic raids but it will give anyone that wants it a challenge
I guess ff is not that bad after all.
Might give it a second chance.
there's no reason to push yourself to enjoy a game you don't like. But I do think that the game does have a fairly boring start. The only reason I stuck around was the music/art direction/friends at first, but sticking it out for the free 30 days isn't a bad idea imo.
>friend of mine just paid 30mil for a kingly whisker
how am I gonna convince him not to kill himself when he sees this
its keeping my sub, so for me sure.
not sure about pessimists who lurk around here, but ive always loved this game and im very pleased with the notes even more than i was with the little info we had before.
but now people will do parties for it and other things too, so older content is getting a surge of players in it even if its just a little burst
id like to know more than what we do know now, but for some reason they like over explaining LoV
we got a fucking essay in this patch note
>tfw extremely anxious and afraid of being overwhelmed by the new content
>tfw this happens with every update
>tfw would prefer to mantain things like they are instead of adding new things
Am i autistic guys?
It will, for one month. Enjoy grinding void ark or hunt for those sick eso upgrades and do Thordan 2-3 times until the weapon you wanted drop.
Fuck, I can't resub until I can pick up my paycheck at 3. I woke up at 7. Please, somebody kill me, time is passing so slowly. I shouldn't have gotten high. Please, post your chocobos and relieve my pain.
>>tfw extremely anxious and afraid of being overwhelmed by the new content
>overwhelmed by the new content
What game patch are you waiting for? Can't be this one.
All those new quests seem overwhelming, but they all seem to be in fondation or sea of clouds. They will be easy to find and finish.
Anyone on balmung for some Sohm Al runs?
With Estate Sharing, the owner of a house may designate up to three of their friends as "tenants" who have access to the house and its associated features. A player may only be a tenant of at most two houses.
* A player may remove themselves from a house's tenant list.
guess 3.1 is still catchup for people from ARR
3.2 will be lots of new content right?
Yes, it's an Alliance "in every way that matters". You lose a chat channel and the UI isn't as convenient for healing people outside of your party. In what way is it somehow inadequate for alliance-sized FC groups to play together?
At some point there was a pact between them for Tuls not to log on without Naaki, after some issues.
Tuls didn't stick to that too long after asking if he could begin playing alone again, Naaki stopped caring, but despite already playing without him again, Tuls got really mad weeks later because he wasn't capping esos, thinking he still couldn't, and blew up when Naaki said he didn't care what he did.
>It has 15sec GCD but you still need it to be triggered to use it.
Its not on the GCD though, its a straight up DPS increase in every scenario
>Also why the fuck isn't shield bash off the GCD but with a lower cooldown?
Do you really no nothing about game design? Stun locking is one of the PLD specific things that are good about the class.
>At some point there was a pact between them for Tuls not to log on without Naaki, after some issues.
What? Why would you make an agreement like this? How would you even
>Tataru is no longer available as an opponent for Triple Triad.
Time to rape the potato for 4 days straight.
>that absolute dearth of class balance changes
Don't get me wrong, the QoL changes in this patch are super welcome. I'm pumped for LoV and the gold saucer stuff. Guess I hoped for too much
>Do you really no nothing about game design? Stun locking is one of the PLD specific things that are good about the class.
Really? 3 stuns and the enemy is immune, providing that holy spamming WHM hasn't already done so.
It's a stupid gimmick, and the stun should be off gcd and be used when you need it, instead of "Oh shit, I just attacked and I need to stun, but my stun is FUCKING ON GCD!"
Using Shield Swipe now amounts to about a 10-15% DPS loss per GCD.
Using Shield Swipe in 3.1 will be up to 600 extra potency a minute, without reducing your damage in any way.
It's a pretty big DPS boost, see: >>121468443
Well maybe I misunderstood how the loot distribution works for them regarding claiming and damage instead of enmity. Sounded like only one group can actually get any loot from the monsters.
>tfw Savage has almost been completely invalidated by Thordan and airships/hunts
It's like they just want to see how many more people can clear A3S and A4S by just throwing i210 gear at everyone.
We will never get a patch with as much content as A Realm Awoken in this game ever again
>3 new extreme primals dropping raid level gear
>New weekly quest for primal weapons
So much fucking content in one patch
It will never happen again
People here are so pessimistic about the patch that it makes me sick. 3.1 has so much potential, especially with the Exploratory Missions, this is the new content people are bitching for, but cannot realize.
That's exactly what they're trying to do, because they overtuned the content and nerfed the hell out of the gear progression in 3.0, and started hemorrhaging players because of it. 3.1 shoveling loot at people is the band-aid that they're hoping will stop people from quitting, and in 3.2 they've already implied pretty heavily that they're going back to Coil-level difficulty for raids instead of Savage.
Yes, but Paladins block pretty frequently, can force a block every 30s with Sheltron, obviously get a free one during Bulwark, etc.
In practice it might be closer to 400-500 extra DPS, but in my limited experience playing Paladin, that Shield Swipe button feels like it's almost always lit up.
>it will never happen again
this game is like 6 years old and only have 1 (2?) expansions, tf you mean "never again"
Probably still a lot less than originally forcast.
Surprise surprise, people don't enjoy putting their face to the grindstone for upwards of 3 hours at a time with little-to-no progress. They also don't enjoy raiding simply for the sake of raiding (no new story, environment design, bosses, music, unique gear, etc.; any of the stuff that made Coil so interesting/satisfying).
90% of the realm awoken content was recycled stuff from 1.0 thats why ARR had so many content. 3.0 is mostly new content rather than recycled content so yea, we won't have such a big patch ever again because we ran out of 1.0 content to recycle.
2.1 is what made them realize the cycle could work. CT was never meant to be a patch update, it was supposed to be released at launch, as a stepping stone to coil.
Now we have this retarded formula where 24 man raids are invalidated on release because the gear is weaker than anything you actually have at that point.
List of things we're never getting again:
>3 or more primals in a single patch
>3 dungeons in a single patch
>Non-faceroll raids with unique assets; story, music, bosses, CGI cutscenes, etc.
>A new class not tied to an expansion
>can ride mounts in idyllshire
MOUNT DICK WAVING IS BACK BABY
>Wow is so much better
Don't forget to preorder Legion, that is coming out in only 10 months, to get early access to the new class. Until then, enjoy farming the same raid then that has been out since July.
WoW is epic.
There's plenty of 2.0 content to recycle, though, and they should be doing that pretty aggressively.
We got three versions of Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda, and that worked out fine. We've only had two versions of Leviathan, Moggle Mog, Ramuh, Ultima, Odin, and Shiva (Not to mention Bismarck, Ravana, and soon Thordan). There's also no "This is designed to be hard enough that we can give you decent loot for it" version of any of the other trials that are in the game, from Chrysalis to Steps to Ultros and Gilgamesh, or even Cape Westwind if they felt like they needed to scrape the barrel.
If they're understaffed they're understaffed, and fair enough if they can't pump out tons of completely content on a skeleton crew. But there are ways that you can generate a lot of content with a small core team, and not being afraid to do a reasonable amount of content re-use is one of the best ways to go about it.
>Solo based progression
>artificial lockouts that gate everyone into 8 man statics
>No open world content
>Mobs are vanilla exp bags
>Non existent class customization
>2.5s Global Cooldown
>Engine garbage skill pathing (can walk right into boss abilities when they're done channeling)
>Every boss encounter is a completely scripted simon says dance routine with insta-wipe mechanics
>Teleporting everywhere completely destroying any sense of scale of the world
>Time of day and weather patterns, worshiped deity, race selection, elements etc all have absolutely no impact leaving the game feeling shallow
>Worst itemization I've ever seen in an MMO, gear has no unqiue statsics and is pure vertical stat scaling
>Story quests are bogged down with endless fetch quests, completely destroying the pace of the plot
>Aesthetic is fucking trashed with tacky vanity mounts and pets and gear and glowing weapons and bikinis everywhere
>no world pvp option
>no voice acting
>everything is instanced; even zones
>repetitive busy-work simulator
>combat is sluggish and doesn't feel fun
>a vast majority of raid content is way too easy
>too many lockouts
>everyone looks the same
>way too easy to get big fuck-off mounts so every has big fuck off mounts
>can't tell who the good players are and the bad players are; they all look the same
>new classes inferior compared to old classes
>renamed and reskinned skills for new classes from old classes
>no outdoor content that isn't daily piss
>lag is still in the game
>gated zones even with flying enabled
>back and forward pie main and side quests still in the game
>copy pasted monsters
>main story and duties are still solo based progression in an MMO
>plot armor: the game
>still timed instances
>deity and weather are still pointless
>pvp designed by monkeys
>half-assed voice acting, half aren't even there
Game is a barren wasteland, why are you idiots still here
Anyone else feel like this is actually a rather impressive patch given how bare their crew is? There's a lot of work on display here. Not excusing how long it took, but these are pretty beefy notes.
>We've only had two versions of
Uhh yeah, because outside the 4 man story modes, there is literally zero reason to touch "normal mode" primals.
No. They are not "beefy" notes. Half of it is just explaining how minion battles work.
I will admit, these notes were pretty long and packed, considering they didn't add their usual "new items" bloat at the end this time.
Then again, they essentially wrote an essay on Lord of Verminion in the middle there.
Yeah kinda. But then again a lot of it is just tweaks and new options. In terms of substantial content with actual art assets and level/boss design it seems pretty standard. Like I don't give half a shit about lord of Verminion for example.
And there's literally zero reason to touch "hard mode" primals that were introduced in 2.2 and on.
If you want to put it another way, we've had two meaningful versions of Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan, and only one meaningful version of all the others listed.
The female ones, especially the contest one will be trash and I bet you can't even dye the accessory. But the male ones may be pretty decent.
Anyone has the post HW nin pic?
>Less than 400k players that have 1 class at 60, only 11k players with 1 class between 50 and 60
The DPS increase is pretty marginal, but its a start. Doesn't change the other problems though
The female long one, the one with the bangs, might look good with a decent color and without highlights that look like they dipped their hair on shit.
The short hair looks good too, but yea the event will be shit if the accessory is undyeable.
I think that this game is successful enough that nobody should be giving them participation medals or really looking at their content flow any different based on how small the development team is. It's their own fucking fault if they run into production limitations caused by not having enough people on the team.
That said, the patch looks "okay", and could actually turn out to be fun if the airships are good and if the casual dungeon/raid stuff is at least the entertaining kind of easy content instead of the torturous sort. It's not really blowing my socks off, but to be fair, it's the 'support' patch that's built around the 'progression' patch of 3.0, and 3.0 was such a shit foundation that there are some pretty hard limits on how shiny you can make the turd.
Like they ever will. After Revenant's Toll being in the same zone as Mor Dhona, they won't make the same mishap again. That's why they gated Idyllshire from the Hinterlands on the last minute.
Maybe when they remove PS3 or something.
It isn't even usable as an OT unless you eat cleaves with sheltron for minimal damage increases.
If the window doesn't change on when to hit it either you only get like a 2 GCD window to proc a parry as well. It's pretty shoddy and actually increases PLD tp usage, when they said they were trying to fix it.

Doesn't have to be 2.5, could be 5-10. But 15? 15 seconds for a 150 potency attack, really? How is that going to fix anything? It could at least increase PLD's defense or attack power or something if they're going to make it 15 seconds for only 150 potency.
>boring pieces of shit who may as well be bots
I don't think you grasp how powerful a 150 potency attack on a 15s cooldown actually is. It's more or less the equivalent to Paladin getting a 10% damage boost on every single one of their GCD attacks.
>Vanilla EQ managed to balance PLD as the most defensive tank under a more complex system of game mechanics
>XIV can't even balance PLD in a game where everything is the fucking same
I'm convinced Yoshi lied about his "past MMO experience" and just don't have a fucking clue what he's doing at this point.
If what Yoshi said is true about only half of the playerbase clearing alex normal, then that means bots make up half of the total amount of players.
Holy shit. This game really is dead.
Everyone knows Yoshi got his job as he was a nobody and was expendable so if the game did flop again they wouldn't risk losing someone worthy of the company. They literally just asked if anyone in the company played MMO and Yoshi said he did, he then mentioned his fave was DAoC.
Then he makes this fucking trash instead.
Nah, pre probably has some MMO experience which is evident by some of the decisions they make.
What is even more obvious, is the fact that the XIV team has 0 experience developing and designing MMO's which is a completely different beast alltogether.
Well, active players aren't all just people that have gotten to level sixty. There are plenty of casuals who level multiple classes very slowly, but still log on frequently.
In fact, wasn't there at least one poster here who had been playing HW since it's launch and only very recently got to 60?
Alright, looked it up in the actual live letter translation from them.
>the first to attack a monster will secure drops, and those who attack afterwards will be entitled to rewards after dealing a certain amount of damage to the monster’s HP.
Everything is DJB again. Now it just needs to be fun.
>There are plenty of casuals who level multiple classes very slowly, but still log on frequently.
There actually isn't. Only 11k people have a character below 60 but higher than 50. Very few people are "still levelling"
There are also people who haven't purchased Heavensward as well, and are enjoying ARR's content fine enough.
However, I'm not going to say these numbers aren't low in general. Just that not everyone feels compelled to hit 50/60, or even complete the main scenario, but can still enjoy the game.
>There are also people who haven't purchased Heavensward as well, and are enjoying ARR's content fine enough.
I have literally not seen anyone in game EVER who still plays without HW.
>Just that not everyone feels compelled to hit 50/60, or even complete the main scenario, but can still enjoy the game.
Again, WHO. I wont say either of these are impossible, but I really doubt they are so common that they'd justify such a small number of people actually playing.
Even if WoW lost half its subscribers it'd still have more than XIV's, what, 800k?
I mean, I feel like nowadays everything is so expensive and there are so many people doing things that numbers feel kind of blown out of proportion.
Take the 15k people on Balmung or gilgamesh tha are at 60
Say about 40% of them are on at any given time, so 6k. thats still 750 8 man parties available at any given time. Of course the numbers for savage are lower than expected but I don't think this is anywhere close to alarming. There are only 600k people playing Dota/CS:GO, 400k isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.
>Even if WoW lost half its subscribers it'd still have more than XIV's, what, 800k?
Doesn't matter. WoW was at 10m at the beginning of the year and is at 5.5 near the end. That's not healthy sustainability when their last patch will be lasting 15 months.
I don't see how this patch is going to keep people's attention for very long. Will this game even survive to the next expansion?
If the second set of Alex raids is as shit-tier as the first I think the game will have no hope for survival.
They must only have 10 people max working on the game now.
They count people who bought their sub with ingame gold and WoWs largest audience are chinks.
I wouldn't be surprised if the actual number of paid subscribers are abysmal in NA/EU
How do you guys find people to level with? I really don't want to move servers. I'm almost 54 after just doing roulettes basically, but have another job after this one that I want to hit 60 with.
>Say about 40% of them are on at any given time
Of that 40%, 20% are bots, 40% are afk, 30% are erping, 8% are doing solo content, 1.9% are farming mounts and .1% want to do any progression.
Again, the progression numbers themselves on Balmung are going to be low, its a RP server. The PFs are still full as fuck on Gilgamesh for Alex content, there really hasn't been a lull in being able to run stuff if you're looking for it. Clearing said content is a different story though
>implying they won't find a way to shoehorn even more orcs in
>OY VEY WE FOUND ANOTHER WORLD OF DEMON ORCS
>BUT THIS TIME THEY ARE GREEN
Woah woah get out with your interesting plots and story ideas that have much more potential to build upon than MUH LEJUN MUH SARGERAS you filthy extremist scum.
PFs on Balmung are basically the same as every other NA non-Gilgamesh server.
Gilgamesh is only active because almost the ENTIRE raiding playerbase consolidated there after Savage Alexander decimated the raiding communities on more or less every other server. When you look at the endgame community on Gilgamesh, you're looking at the bulk of the endgame community for the entire NA playerbase.
I've made it to 60 without
making any friendsand I want to start raiding (just need a few more pieces of gear).
I've never done raiding before (I don't play MMOs) what are some things I should know? Do people raid with randoms? Do they use voip or something? Will they bully me for being new?
Is that a bad thing though? You go to Balmung to RP, you go to Gilgamesh to raid.
Again >>121475476, Raiding is not the only thing people want to do in this game. If that's what you want to do, go over to gilgamesh and let the casuals do glamour content/crafting/gathering/pvp/rp/etc
The second set of Alexander raids is definitely going to be better than the current one, as long as there are people still left by the time it comes out to be interested in it. They're already talking (obviously without explicitly admitting faults) about how they fucked up with it and aren't likely to design them the same way again.
It's the death of a respectable player count. This is literally where XIV fades out of relevance.
Blame Square for making a killing off the game and putting nothing back into it, and shoving out a fucking abysmal expansion. Worst expansion I've bought for any game.
Oh please no. I don't want any more fucking Mogleo/Pomsguard antics.
It wasn't funny while I was leveling and it wont be funny now.
Yes, it's a bad thing to have a single server where progression happens and a dead endgame community on every other server, especially when that's an extremely recent development that's only come to be over the last two and a half months or so, while the previous raid tier resulted in a vibrant endgame scene on basically every populated server and even a serviceable scene on the low-population servers. How the fuck is that even a question?
>Do people raid with randoms?
>Do they use voip or something?
Most of the time. Download teamspeak/mumble.
>Will they bully me for being new?
Of course. It's okay though, some groups bully you out of love you just have to know when they're cancerous so you can get out.
Just find a good comfy group of people to play with and have fun and learn. Learning is the most important part, even if you don't stick with your first group that long.
>not using 4 PGL
I'm sorry, I assumed you weren't bad for a second.
If you play on a populated server perhaps you can find an experienced player to mentor you a bit... oh wait, all the raiders in this game aren't interested in bolstering their community with new blood
Because you're completely stuck in this mindset that raiding is the only possible thing one can think of to do when they hit end game. A lot of casuals dont even view it as "end game," they just want to do content they see fit.
You can say the same thing about RP completely dying out on other servers because Balmung is now the central RP hub. IF you want to raid you go to Gilgamesh, blame EM for glorifying raid content and transferring to a big server. Even if this game was popular people would mass transfer to Gilg because DnT/CL/SyN/MoD were all there. It's not that the end game population is dead, its like you said. It's all centralized on one server because all the big names are on the same server now, and people flock to it.
His comment lmfao
pls dont ruin this kids life guys
>Crafting is dead, savage is dead, hunt is dead, expert is dead.
it's hard and I'm bad
Well as long as they don't shut me out completely I'll be okay I guess. Not like I'm not used to some bullying anyways. It seems like one of those things that becomes much easier once you get your foot in the door.
No I'm a dirty DPS although I have started leveling my WHM since I don't have much to do on my other class.
