Aight its time to post best girl from its respective series/title.
>asuho best girl
How can she be best girl when she has the worst route?
What's wrong with people light heartedly arguing over best girl? No one's going to go autistic over moege girls.
Ayaka best btw
"Why are you posting a VN only you can read?" is literally the chemotheraphy this thread desperately needs in these harsh times of unwanted /jp/ psychos.
Keep on fighting the good fight, anons.
Best girl trash is mild whereas "Why are you posting a VN etc" is a little obnoxious, at least it has merit.
They were all great but Rise was best.
Though I can see lolicons easily favouring samael. She's not a heroine though.
I have reverse engineered the portion of the wrapper that matters, and have made an unwrapper that should be able to unwrap versions 1 through 7. But before I present that, here's what I think about SoftDenchi. Quite frankly, the wrapper system is very weak. I don't know if Paltiosoft is underestimating people, or if they're incompetent, but the wrapper presents little challenge to anyone wishing to unwrap, especially if they've already gotten a valid activation key. The wrapper's protection is encrypting a portion of the protected EXE's code, but the amount is so small it's almost meaningless.
In the v7 sample I have 32 bytes are encrypted starting at the entry point. If you know about reverse engineering, you will know that the entry point typically contains the runtime initializer, and this code is similar between many executables using that runtime. So it's possible to just find another EXE with similar code, copy it over, fix a few offsets, and you're done. Exit, from above, is v6, and only had 16 bytes encrypted. There is no anti-dump, so you can just run the game, dump process, and copy over the unprotected bytes. Not only that, but the wrapper uses a publicly available PRNG implementation, and using that to perform XOR encryption. (It's a good thing they did that, because it meant less work for me. I wonder what the period on the PRNG is.) The wrapper has no support for in-memory patching of EXEs with TLS nor relocations. And you can practically skip all of its licensing checks by jumping past those instructions (and it'll decrypt and launch the game, with enough time for you to do a memory dump).
Overall, it's just braindead and rather pathetic. You don't even need a code to decrypt it. If this is what company that made "the #1 DRM system used in Japan" can come up with, I think it is rather insulting to the Japanese.
Eh, her reincarnation becomes your daughter. It's a nice, fluffy ending, but I'd rather take Mare for waifu than daughteru.
Well i disagree with your disagreement.
It's funny how long it took for someone to release the cracked version when the game leaves behind a precracked executable called main.bin when you launch it. And the instructions for bypassing activation to launch it was given here days ago and not that hard to do.
Yeah I wish they'd stop. I just want to post what I'm reading in peace but I guess jealousy makes people do nasty things.
This is a reverse bait post made by an EOP with a vndb screenshot.
You'll never be as cool as me desu senpai
Yeah, what this guy >>121514383 said.
The fuck ouda here senpai
For the delicious attention you're giving me.
Me on the left, you on the right.
Why are you posting a VN you can't crack?
>ayy lmao you don't have a girl friend
>then you be my girl friend, mom *unzips dick
>w-wait, I was just pretending
>I'll rape you anyway
Nah, I've seen doujins with better build up.
https://vndb.org/v1604 and https://vndb.org/v1605
https://vndb.org/v3161 (the mother son incest is sadly just a small part but there is some at least)
https://vndb.org/v9643 (NTR but the mother is hot enough to make up for it)
https://vndb.org/v8606 (not blood-related sadly, otherwise I would have rated it much higher)
https://vndb.org/v282 (Loved some parts of but the tone of the story was a little too dark for me. Has a lot of anal.)
My opinion regarding Grisaia is the most controversial opinion that I have I believe, but I'm fairly certain I am not alone in my dislike for Yuuji, though I simply gave up rather than soldier onwards like a true war hero.
>muh long-ass dialog about tons of people and their bloodtypes
though >>121529195 is right, japs just fuck up and use hira instead of kata sometimes, my best guess is it's younger generation who grow up using cell phones and just don't give a fuck about kata since it's a bitch to type on phone.
at least it is for me. pic related is from a girl who knows she's speaking french and is familiar with the phrases but it's still in hira so fuck me if there's another reason for it.
i use google IME too, dunno why you have trouble with it unless you have suggestions off. should just be able to type shit and scroll through the suggestions, the more chars you type out the harder it'll be to get kata so use fewer symbols at a time if it's something long.
you can also try to setup hotkeys to switch between hira/kata which i've been too lazy to do since what i have just works, or try using a JP keyboard.
>this is the face of a vicious murderer
and here tried to type sword and it came up under suggestions, though usually when i type kata it's to type something uncommon so i tend to type 2-5 chars, check suggestions for the kata, and piece the whole thing together which is why it ends up being such a bitch.
Jesus Christ I didn't know that she was that short. How old is she supposed to be? I feel like a dirty old man.
Accidentally attached some shitty meme language stuff.
I'm in love. Glasses and braids are the best. I know I shouldn't fall in love with any girl in these games but it's very hard.
Chizuru the best though.
Yeah, it seems VNDB is down, images crashed completely for me.
Okay, so, I'm kinda at the end of my rope here.
I got Yumina the Ethereal a while ago. I was really digging it. Then I got to
the whole OMG SPACE STUFF and began to lose interest. It became FIGHT THIS ED, NOW THIS ED, NOW THE FIRST ONE AGAIN. And fucking hell, the battles take for fucking ever.Anyway, the point is, if this was just a regular, no RPG elements VN, I would have finished it ages ago. But as it stands, the battles and how long they take are driving me mad. The animations and speech are cool the first few times you see them, but after so long they get tiresome, and they take so fucking long. I tried turning off some settings to hopefully end that, but they didn't work. Is there some setting I'm missing that turns that shit off, or perhaps (and I'm stretching here) some fan patch that stops that shit? I'm honestly about to give up on it, I don't have all fucking day to do this. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, my computer has little memory and so I can only have VN at a time on here, and Yumina is it. I have many others I want to play (I've been dreaming about playing VNs that don't even exist), but I can't until I either finish this or give up on it. Can any anon perhaps help me out, tell me how to make the battles so much shorter?
This is kinda rambly, I know, but I'm just fucking tired of it.
It took me a bit of time to get used to how the sprites worked, but I don't mind it now. And I got really into it, I put 30 hours into it, I have a hard time just giving up on it. I could read how it ends, but it wouldn't be the same. I probably will just end up backing up as much data as I can and maybe coming back to it someday, unless some hero comes along and can answer my question.
Well, you can use cheat engine to find the value for enemies HP and set them to 0. It's good for getting through the boss fights quickly, and that's what I did. The memory locations change every fight though, so it's a bit of a hassle.
I'm sure there's a proper SpoilerAL for it though.
Search for the method that actually writes to the enemy's hp, then modify that to do whatever you want with it.
He'd also have to change the approval rating for the school phase bosses and
Yumina's final boss.
But he hasn't even finished a route so I doubt he'll ever make it anywhere near the true end.
Approval rating is a simple integer though, surprisingly enough.
That's too advanced for most people, Mr. "reverse engineered, TEST ALs to be detoured, and PRNG implementations to be NOPed while doing in-memory patching of EXEs with TLS in ollydbg"
Ooh, that's a thing? That may just be what I'm searching for!
Would you mind sparing me the search and at least telling me what program you used? I can try to figure out the rest myself.
It's just my bad habit I guess, I used to play a lot of older VNs where the shitty midi music looped endlessly and there was no voice acting, so putting on my own music was the best option.
I think I'll use this as a wallpaper. It seems nice for the winter time. Until I read more and it gets too depressing to look at.
I did it! I actually did it! This is even better than what I was suggesting! I have to damage the enemies first to find the memory address, but then I can just set it to 0, and you are my fucking hero anon.

1) Usually there's a monthly blog post on omochikaeri about the "real" game releases (mostly non nukige). like this, but there is none for november for some reason:
2) I just hang around here and on /jp/, adding every game that interests me onto a notepad (if it's already out I go ahead and acquire it)
3) Just sort VNDB by release date and you'll have a list, though you'll have to scroll through a lot of "TBA"s.
fan translations are dead, learning Japanese was the correct option.
For those of you that speak European it seems like the all-ages version of Eiyuu Senki is coming out in a few days. This was rated one of the best VNs in recent years so you should check it out.
Sure, they're not good for plot or gameplay flow but it's a shitload of content that's missing. There's also very little interest in the game given how little people care about it. See lack of hype here and very low upvote count of any Eiyuu Senki news on Reddit.
It's over half the game's CG. At least 30 of them are going to be removed, are there a decent amount of replacements? I don't think anyone has posted an image set of the all-ages release so I don't know.
Why is /vn/ so retarded when it comes to sex in vns. Who gives a shit if it's there or not, just play your chinese powerpoints and stop being such a nigger.
Mate my issue isn't that people like sex in vns, it's that they demand it, even when it's not necessary or reasonable. I don't give a fuck whether people want to jack off to 2D five year olds but if you want every single fucking vn to cater to you you're fucking insane.
First of all, be aware you're attacking strawmen. Second of all, be aware that we're discussing a VN with substantial H-content getting it all CUT. Cut, censored content is something that's worth getting upset over - it's not "wanting every single fucking vn to cater to us", it's wanting localizations to not cut tons of content.
The censored PS3 version, yes. Please don't be pedantic about what "censored" exactly means, that doesn't really mean anything. A substantial amount of content that was in the original VN is not in the edition that's being brought over and it's fine to be unhappy with that.
nice strawman rofl
it's not like i'd expect a vn like say planetarian to have h content because it wouldn't add to the plot at all or even detract from the overall mood of the story, but h content being removed from a vn where it's important to the character development and plot is a problem
>there's nothing they can do about this.
I'm not attacking the localizers, I'm attacking the cut H-content in the game itself. It was bad when they did it in Japan and it's bad that the version getting brought over is the one with content. It's a bad situation that a lot of people are unhappy with.
Anyone of you read the faults games? It's short but so damn good.
Does anyone know where to find a translation patch for little busters, I wanted to replay it, but the official patch is removed from TLwiki and cannot find a patch on nyaa.
I already have the game installed.
Should i start a stein gate kickstarter?
I promise that the trilogy will be translated
500$= Lab coat+Collector edition
1000$= Kurisu panthyhouse+Lab coat+Collector edition
10000$= IBM5100+Kurisu pantyhouse+Lab coat+Collector edition
Well, I think I can kind of understand being wary. Imagine if some foreign company came to you and wanted to enter into a contract with a huge third party distributor to sell your game, you don't know much about this distributor or whether your rights will be adequately protected once you sign over the rights to sell it on there, it can be scary.
Okay, what's the best comedy visual novel that you've read?
I'm not moggy, but Oretsuba is truly special, it's a game as long as Clannad and doesn't have anything resembling a plot, but it's hilarious all the way through.
I have no idea how they managed to make a game like that and I would like to see it translated one day, though I guess that would take a monumental effort.
>i'm learning Japanese and I'm not bothered by them
People that think this way deserve to be slapped. It's like thinking it's okay to go on /a/ and discuss normalfag TV shows just because you happened to start watching them recently or something. There's a perfectly good place already for that stuff, you don't get to ask your old one to change for you. Especially since you probably initially chose it specifically because it didn't have people like what you've now become, you enormous hypocrite.
She is a cartoon character, please don't be ridiculous.
You can basically tell the quality of a VN by how many times the word "hella" is used in its translation.
Of course, the same is true of heroines within individual games. The more hella the better.
Non-translated VNs are shit by default. Seriously, I feel bad for authors that write things that nobody even cares enough about to translate. Even my own fucking fanfics have been translated into 3-4 languages apiece, what the hell are these guys even doing?
I like when she calls me "-sama"
That's the moment she realizes she isn't chosen by the MC even though he's pretty much her entire life. My track record of read VNs still isn't that high, but I doubt there's a more hardcore yamato nadeshiko character out there.
Okay I didn't want to come in here and do this but I'm finally fucking stumped. Feel free to skip to the bottom if you don't care how I got confused.
So I installed VNR, Atlas and got the Atlas dictionary by errzotl. All this was easy. Once that was done I moved on to trying to get the "TAH script" since Atlas with that dictionary and the TAH script is said to be the best in the machine translation pastebin. This is where my issue started.
Googling TAH script led me to Translation Aggregator, so I installed it. After installing it I went back to look for the script. Under "latest script files" was "ATLAS" and "LEC". Since I didn't need LEC, I downloaded ATLAS. Inside were a few files, including the dictionary I already had, something called "atlas.txt" I didn't think I needed, and "names.txt". Unsure what to do with all this stuff, I followed a link to "An Aero-Gamer's Guide to Using Atlas".
Doing some more reading, I discovered the purpose of this whole script seems to be making sure names are properly translated which seems useful. It listed two ways to install the script, either through a TAHplugin method or a TAHelper method. But before I could go any further I looked inside the "ATLAS files" rar again to check the readme, hoping it would direct me to which path to take. Instead of helping me decide between TAHplugin and TAHelper methods, it merely indicated the "atlast.txt" I didn't think I needed was to be used with TAH + ATLAS + VNR while the "names.txt" was to be used with TAH + ATLAS on TA. This is where I've become stumped.
The machine translation pastebin says that VNR + Atlas with that dictionary + TAH script is the best way to go, which leads me to believe I need to use the "atlas.txt" instead of the "names.txt". The problem is, I can't find anything that SAYS where to put the "atlas.txt" file. Aero Gamers Guide only shows use of the "names.txt".
tl;dr: Where the fuck does atlas.txt go so I can use the TAH script with ATLAS for VNR?
Maybe, but I wouldn't risk it. In all likelihood we'll see a patch within the next few weeks, but it sucks for an unforeseen complication to come up and wind up blue balled for months, and the group involved here don't exactly have a reputation for promptness.
Well the difference is that the team have outright said this time that they intend to release within the month barring any complications. In December it was just an assumption based on the fact that there was no reasonable reason for QC to take as long as it has, though the team never actually promised to finish it as quickly as most of us expected them to.
Note that I'm not saying more delays are impossible, just that given current information there's no reason to assume it's going to continue to get delayed for months and months when things actually look like they're finally starting to get packaged up for release.
>The plan for this month is to get the latest state of the translation ingame, wrap it in a nice and easy one-click installer, and bring you the patch. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be released this month (if we find any major issues for example), but it does mean that there will be no more major changes.
>tfw eating macaroni and cheese while I play my Chinese porn games
I'm fairly new to Visual Novels and have tried several but the only one to really stick with me has been
I'm downloading Grisaia now. Looks kinda nice. Hoping to find something I can sink my teeth into and really enjoy.
KoiRizo. Riho then Nagisa then complete. Except for whatever that 3P route is. Slowing down since I've been busy and not sure what to read next. Maybe a physical novel that I've started.
>reading your chinese porn games
>faggot male MC whistles to himself
how do you prefer to see this shit in-game
Finished Kara no Shoujo, man, I really enjoyed the plot, but the true end, what the fuck was that? It left a bitter aftertaste.
T-Toko and Tojiko, what about them? ;_;
I realize only now that maybe it would've been better to read Cartagra before.
That's a shame, it would've probably given a different angle to the ending, or to all the matters related to Shugo. Now I don't really feel like reading Cartagra, as it feels kind of determined, knowing how stuff goes in KnS.
You might as well, since the events in Cartagra are referenced in KnS 2 and another character shows up again. It's also fairly short especially if you don't do the bad ends. Also the ending isn't unsatisfying like KNS
I got to the h-scene with what was supposed to be the first heroine. She breaks down crying after a bit of foreplay because she feels her love is inferior to the white haired one's and they don't have sex. The protagonist goes outside for a walk, a character appears and tells him she isn't pleased with the turn of events and tells him to "wither". The game ends without credits and there's a new title screen with a selectable scenario.
I think the climax of the game is for the donkan protagonist to notice the white haired girl's feeling. Which means there's only one real route. Pretty unique structure.
So does anyone playing KnS2 know what name to give Karen when she asks who else qualifies as a potential victim? I picked every single name that made sense and a bunch that didn't and I'm not getting anywhere.
>tfw cant pull allnighters and late nights reading VNs ever since becoming a wageslave
take it from me, stay NEETS
I can't even do it anymore on weekends since I've changed my lifestyle (lots of exercising for one)
Just can't. I could probably hit 6AM at best then crash hard.
Used to be able to do it all the time during highschool and feel fine during the day.
Just heard a touhou song I liked on a stream, so I decided to look into it
How does Touhou have this much music? Wikipedia says the series has like 20 games, but still. Where do I even start, I'm lost. I'd have to buy an extra external storage device to download that all.
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is far and away my favourite manga.
I enjoy everything by Urasawa Naoki - Monster was pretty good, but Pluto is easily among my favourite manga of all time, it's just masterfully made.
I am fond of Kengo Hanazawa. He writes a lot of, well, autistic characters realistic enough that I relate to them which brings me to tears a lot - you probably already know of "I am a Hero" but I also enjoyed "Ressentiment".
And finally Kouji Mori. He's a really cool guy (used to be a delinquent fighter as far as I know) with tons of really powerful stories - Holyland, Suicide Island, and Destroy/Revolution are are really wild rides.
No clue, to be honest I haven't kept up with it for awhile. I always catch up to manga and then drop them until they finish.
I know that Destroy/Revolution was like 20 chapters behind in its scanlation, even though the chapters were out in Japan
Probably anime. Very easy and quick to watch. There are a few anime titles that I watched ep for ep and never felt bored or watching when the ep will end. Rarely get anything like that with VN/manga.
Anime overall, it's just easier. But manga probably is the richest of them all. VN feels lacking compared to the two by just a little.
Anime is boring to me, often, because I read the subtitles way before they finish speaking, so a lot of the time I'm just waiting for their lines to finish.
Maybe once I learn Japanese properly it will be more enjoyable.
I'm not sure if I consider J-drama weeb media solely because it lacks the social stigma that everything else weeb seems to generate.
Also because it's extremely similar in terms of style to most other TV dramas besides linguistically.
"Weeaboo" is literally just obsession with Japan senpai. Although I do watch korean dramas as well.
And I wouldn't say Asian dramas are similar to Western television, at all. Usually they're much shorter, end in one season and are just way different culturally.
In VNs I have text set to appear instantly, and I can quickly press enter the moment I finish a line. For anime, I have to just sit and wait until they finish speaking, I can't just manually skip ahead 2-3 seconds everytime someone speaks.
