Hack 'n' Slash is still an incredibly important DPS combo. I've heard that the double-slash combo while in Sword mode is technically more DPS, but it has a pretty bad animation lock, and obviously you need gauge to maintain it.
I want to dig with jho!
Plus there was some interest in a proper release for the 10th Anniversary concert. So here it is.
Alright. Follow-up question: how good is the hack n' slash finisher? I'm liking the amount of forward movement that comes with it, that might prove to be great against things like Blos or Gore, but is the damage good enough to justify using it on stationary targets?
And while I'm rediscovering weapons I haven't played since 3U, how did the hammer change in 4U? Is it still golfsmash / super stomp heads all day or are there some cool new tricks?
From what I've heard (I have zero numbers to back this up), it has a really good motion value, and I've found in practical experience that it causes staggers quite reliably if you've already been wailing on a monster. If you have the time to pull it off without trading a hit, I think it's always worthwhile. Plus, you can morph out of it which is always handy.
You can survive a HR event enraged molten tigrex roar dead on with something like 511 defense. He hits harder than anything else I fought so far in G2.
does about 96% damage, yeah. but you can survive it.
If you block it it's only something like 15%.
>not wanting to ride around on a full-sized Zinogre
>not wanting to sleep on its belly during lazy afternoon in the Primal Forest
Can you be any more pleb?
This looks... quite good actually, and those are good skills for SA.
That's the best part. Zinogre is the tingliest monster. He could power your computer!
You could do a lot worse, I guess. Everything looks bad on female hunters, so it can't really be helped.
Fite me, nerd.
GX Tempest Diadem
Esurient Mail Z
Esurient Vambraces Z
Esurient Faulds Z (or anything with Torso Inc)
GX Hunter's Cuisses
2x Attack Jewel 3
1x Evasion Jewel 2
2x Evasion Jewel 1
2x Jumping Jewel 1
If anything switch the legs to the g rank version, because it's the same, but better defense as you got that gunner helm. We have that new apex jho event and gqs so I'd recommend doing that.
I'm trying to avoid the diadem, looks horrible.
I think rajang would make a pretty kickass pet. Probably big enough to saddle and it can jump a fucking mile into the air. It would really just be like keeping a super strong gorilla in your house. I wonder if they're nice in person
Instead of talismans being entirely reliant on RNG, at endgame, the player can now juju meld their own custom talisman, with each point in a skill coming at high component cost (mantles, even) and each slot requiring completion of a solo challenge quest like Master's Test.
Is my set good?
Evade Distance Up
talisman +8 evade dist, 3 slot
2 slot weapon
So with Waxglare as a base, what would make a perfect SA set?
I'm thinking Sharpness +1, RS, EE, E+1 and AtU L... except it doesn't exist.
No point making it prohibitively difficult. Make it time consuming, not hard.
>Hunt 10 large G rank monster
>Pay X zenny
>Gain 10,000 hunter rank points
>Finish X "Advanced:" quests
Basically make it a long term goal you can chip away at. If someones shitty at the game but likes making good armor sets then they're SoL having to do masters test over and over. Another thing, don't make it the same quest over and over. Mix it up, hunting the same 3 monsters over and over gets dull.
Yeah, just tried that out and got 4 sets.
I'm not sure if they're insanely difficult to make but boy they're ugly...
But it's the most effective that I got for SA.
I'm kinda stuck here, ok my HH set is as follows: HB, RS, E+1, and Maestro. I can either put on HG Plugs or Challenger+2. Challenger set saves me about 40 defense because of the garuga mask on the other set
Expert+13, Protection+8 talisman, forgot # of slots, so...
It all started with finding a way to stack Crit God, Atk up XL, and Sharpness+1. Then I settled for Honed Blade and tried to get Crit God.
you know expert is like, literally the worst offensive skill you can invest in right?
>mfw I see people gem expert into star knight instead of anything else
I feel like G is harder this time around. I don't remember having any particular problems with the transition in 3U. Now just trying to solo a pair of tetsucabras is taking everything I have.
I'm not sure why people treat that as something special here. I have 12 registered honed blade sets and 6 of them don't have that piece. I'm not avoiding it either, the sets I have are all max defense options from ASS.
It's often the only good thing left since honed blade shuts out attack up, particularly if a monster doesn't work well with HGE, C+2 or WE.
Just have to make crit draw add 25% to draw attacks and make normal crits 75% bonus, tweak some base affinity values to be less drastic and it's perfect and on-par with other attack up skills.
I want relics in general to be reinstituted as a transmog/reskin system and post-honing weapon upgrade items to allow you to do things like get natural purple on weapons that wouldn't normally have them, boost raw more, boost secondary damage, awaken without a skill, etc (making non-relic weapons on-par with relics).
IG is basically impossible to use on some apexes without drive, since their deflection hitzones not only deflect mind's eye weapon strikes but also kinsects, without giving them extract, and frequently these include the red extract hitzone. GS is probably the best solo apex weapon. I'd feel better using a lance for it though because those movesets can be kind of erratic and a good shield is nice to have, as well as precise attacks that don't have a high chance of hitting something you don't intend to and glancing off harmlessly.
I soloed most of g1 and g2 because /mhg/ was making me feel bad about usually playing with a team of a bunch of pubs (even though I was almost always carrying the rest of the team). That quest was weirdly hard for me too. Shouldn't be, they're just tetsucabra, but somehow I just could not hit them without getting hit.
I don't know what they were thinking with the kinsect thing. It's not an issue once you've learned the monster and can manage your buffs while knocking apex off quickly, but when learning it's awful in so many ways.
been drinking but how do people have over 200 hr
i'm only hr3, gotta kill the sandnigga to get to 4
and i only just killed gore in story mode to get to 5
cmon man you probably had these same riddles
plus i'm new man if you cant tell, is it not worht farming while you're doing missions? seems cumbersome, id rather farm those on off missions
>just killed gore magala but where should i go for now? where do i go after gettin the cent/gore armor now.
Just keep doing quests you haven't done and you'll get your keys and move on. If you haven't even faced Shagaru yet you're far from done, you still have like half of low rank and all of high rank ahead of you not counting the online campaign.
>also how do people have up to 200+hr online?
It's a fun game that encourages you to make and try out a lot of weapons and armours that require you to slay 3-20 of a monster or monsters apiece with each hunt taking about 5-30 minutes depending on how many people you have with you (or even more if you solo and it goes badly), so that adds up fast. Nevermind each monster is basically what you'd consider a boss in another game, and there's something distinctly satisfying about learning all of its ins and outs and shitting fury all over a boss. That part's what keeps me playing.
>also how the
Well you see son,
After researching and ASS'ing a lot I finally decided I'll make this set for SA.
How to improve monster hunter so that their is a larger audience in the west:
>Give monsters health bars
>add online cash shop
>add more RPG elements (float damage numbers whenever you attack/get attacked, levels to your characters)
>add first person mode and a portion of the game open world exploration ( a la Skyrim)
>make all the main characters voiced instead of speaking in mumbly fake language
>make the female armor less slutty
What things would you add to make Monster Hunter more popular outside of Japan?
How the fuck are you able to get a Honed Blade set with more then 3 skills? Every time I try to making anything like that the best I can get is 4 skills max with zero slots left open
G crown turns room! Come hunt some monster!
1 free slot!
>What things would you add to make Monster Hunter more popular outside of Japan?
Make all the bosses literally the same and make them all have a move where they turn invincible for a good 10 seconds.
I'm looking at you warframe, you piece of shit.
also make the game into an MMO but make it super easy to solo and make sure that everyone does solo, keep social aspects out of da way.
so theres noway to adjust the sensitivity of your n3ds nub stick? it makes aiming a pain in the fuckin ass
hey thanks for the reply.
didn't know there was more after gore. i thought doing certain key guild quest ranks you up but was confused how the hell people got up to the 200s.
>also how the
was me being stupid and forgot i already typed that and forgot about it.
i see the appeal and i like it, i just want to be pointed in the right direction.
i like playin with people online, but should i just focus on the storymode first? i like being able to fight certain monsters before i have to solo them. hell i already fought gravy dragon and i just got a quest for him so it helps to know what i have to do
>make the female armor less slutty
I don't think you understand western audiences and AAA game design. Western AAA games often have non-slutty women not to appeal to wider audiences but to avoid controversy from smaller audiences that could potentially spread into a PR disaster for the game as a whole, since the masses are sheep. AAA game design in general is all about extremely low risk investments for moderate or potentially titanic returns, which is why AAA game devs are so slow to innovate and we still have the same cowadooties and elder scrolls we have had for years. They're safe.
I'm all for less trashy female armour though. Not really muh soggy knee bullshit, I'm just a dude that likes playing both as girls and dignified, heroic characters. Open world would be cool too, and would probably actually make the game more popular with western audiences as well.
>i thought doing certain key guild quest ranks you up but was confused how the hell people got up to the 200s.
Oh fuck, I read that as 200+ HOURS, not HUNTER RANKS. Once you get close to the end of High Rank online, your HR "uncaps" and turns from an indication of how far you are in the game to a kind of experience level, though you only unlock some new quests every 25 or 50 ranks until you get to 150 or 200 (iirc, I don't remember which). G rank quests also give a lot more "experience" toward the next HR. You uncap at HR 7 and will probably immediately jump to somewhere between 40 and 80.
>i like playin with people online, but should i just focus on the storymode first?
I did because I was insecure about being shitty when I started playing online, but by the time I started playing online I found I was way better than the majority of people I played with until I hit the final ranks (g crown) where I'm only a little above average (which makes sense, a lot of the people that make it that far have been playing a lot longer than me and have also played longer than me since hitting g crown). You don't really have to, though. By the point where you are you should already have access to decorations, which are useful in high rank and essential in g rank, so you should be set for a while. I recommend trying to go through the high rank singleplayer campaign before entering online g rank though since wystones, something you get later in singleplayer, are a big help in G.
So to give some context, I suck at greatsword. I still think I'm able to use it about as well as any random, but I don't have the timing and positioning down to land charges consistently on all monsters.
With that said, one thing I struggly with a bit is
frenzy. Namely, the debuff. I never feel like I have to -try- to turn it into a buff with any other weapons, it just happens naturally over the fight, and very quickly at that. But with greatsword, I get the debuff way too often. So when you have frenzy with greatsword, is it best to play normally, still going for level 3 charges on soft spots, or is it best to just get a lot of quick hits in whenever possible? Is the buff gained after a set amount of damage, or a set amount of hits?
600+ should be fine for G2. If you can't get that much, I'd recommend evasion+1 for tiggies, it's very easy to roll through their roars. Most of them at least, I have to admit I haven't fought g-rank molten tiggy.
Carry nulberries to reset the timer and it'll probably be fine, unless you're going for good times. GS should be sheathed most of the time anyway, so it shouldn't be that much of a hindrance to pop a berry when it's getting close to proccing the debuff.
Openworld is just a buzzword at this point and doesn't actually denote any improvements to the game due to the "open world". Way back when it used to mean there was stuff to do in every corner and stuff to see no matter where you went. Now it just means you walk for a long time to get anywhere.
I'll try that. As for the mechanics, is the buff gained after a set amount of damage dealt, or a set number of hits landed? I think that's the biggest issue, just landing a couple good level 3 charges on the head just doesn't seem to be enough to clear it, I feel like I have more luck landing quick unsheathe attacks on any part available.
hey thanks again. this helped me a lot. thought it was a bad idea doing online at low rank. figured since a lot of upgrades require extensive upgrades
i just notice that when i did shit like explosive dragon punch missions with people higher rank gave me the materials to make higher weapons, i'm guessin i shouldn't get that as soon for where i'm at?
either way thanks i'll just continue doing story, but man i enjoy farmin materials with people online. i cant be the only one, right?
I guess I'm just not doing enough damage with GS then. Time to step up my game. 13 minutes to slay Caravan Chaotic Gore seemed like too much, but I'm used to IG and that just completely tears through any caravan monsters.
>i just notice that when i did shit like explosive dragon punch missions with people higher rank gave me the materials to make higher weapons, i'm guessin i shouldn't get that as soon for where i'm at?
There's a minimum HR (minimum G rank permit once you hit G rank, those range from 1-3 and then the special permit which is the crown) for each quest, so if the game let you enter the quest it may be a little ahead of where you are but not so far that it's shit you just shouldn't have yet.
>but man i enjoy farmin materials with people online. i cant be the only one, right?
Nah, I do too. It's relaxing to just kill the same monster over and over with a group, since the group means you have much more room for error and you can generally feel yourself getting better at the fight each time you do it.
Its based on the total motion values inflicted IIRC. Which is why dual blades don't clear it in an instand. Just try and land more lvl 3 charges and you should purge it decently fast. Bring some traps along too, those will probably give you 3 easy hits a piece.
>try to land more level 3 charges
Against gore, I never feel like it's up to me. That fucker just loves to jump away at the last second, you position yourself expecting him to turn towards you but he just bounces in the completely opposite direction just as you're unleashing your charge attack.
It might be number of attacks. As in, SnS's combined shield bash and poke may only count as one, and demon dance may only count as one, and the two hits of the IG upswing may only count as one and so on.
When I'm practicing with a weapon I lack experience with, I prefer not to bring traps, that doesn't help me get good. I just bring traps when hunting something online I know might cause a lot of carting.
Randoms are cowards. It's like the classic sitcom plot of someone breaking up with their significant other because they're afraid their SO will break up with them over some dumb shit.
Occasionally if I feel like I'm carrying and I've had a bad day in general I'll dc if a quest fails, but only if I wasn't one of the ones who carted.
Maybe you kept tripping them all right in front of the monster or something.
But seriously, like I said, they're cowards. They're afraid of being ashamed they contributed to the failure so they run away and hide from it. Guess it's also possible the first one to leave blamed the other two for the failure and thought it would happen again, then the other two followed suit, since pubs seem to have this lemming-like mindset about them.
Before I start going on a long journey for good charms, what are some of the best charms that one can get from Jujuing and G2 farming? Just in case I come across some of them so I stop trying to get better ones.
Black Gravios is dumb, he can shoot you with a fireball > firebeam combo and grantee will kill you unless you have fire resist food, which randoms don't eat. They only go for AuL.
Also if I die to something dumb and it's entirely my fault if I feel like I'm a burden and not suitable to helping the team I quit. If I feel like it was just a fuck up and I can bounce back I'll do it.
That looks like a pretty solid set all around. Rodeo God is definitely not necessary so if you can change that for literally anything else that will contribute to your damage output, you should try to.
Only time I carted twice in recent memory was my first fight against Shah while we had him almost dead. I had literally no idea the floor turned to lava, that took me completely by surprise. But I was just with one other player from /mhg/ and they didn't seem to mind.
Yes, fuck konchus. Though I'm glad rhenoplos seems less aggressive in MH4U.
The ones that always infuriate me are iopreys. Switch zone to sharpen, almost done with that, poison spit motherfucker. And of course I didn't bring antidotes because I was here to fight a brachydios.
We are so close, you guys.
Yeah I considered that, but with my talisman (Mount+5 EM+3 ---) I can only get Critical Eye+1 or Latent Power, which both are redundant with C+2
I actually can get any of those, but I sacrifice decent looks. Thanks for the idea, though.
>duplicate file exists
Well-played, you son of a bitch.
Please bring element oh god he just won't die
>I actually can get any of those, but I sacrifice decent looks.
The eternal struggle.
On an unrelated note, I'm in a room RIGHT NOW with some dude unironically using Pellet long range. I can't make this shit up.
Taiwanese Frontier G6 on PS3.
No VPN hassle but chinkrunes are harder than moonrunes.
I said my heart not my penis.
Now I'm picturing that scenario
Perfect huntress. PERFECT
Come be the deeps we need!
>tfw feels wrong taking anything but AuL but it's actually only 7 raw
Anyway you can get AuL and firestarter, which is ten points of fire resistance, while fire resistance (L) is only five, by eating meat and veg (you can get both with milk and veg). Your actual physical defence also impacts damage from elemental sources. Elemental is cool because it also provides resistance to blights though.
I'm not liking that crease on her funny place. Too gratuitous or something. I get that it might not be her mound, but yet it wants to be suggestive. I just dunno man. Lines need just a bit of work.
You start remembering them
>character for tail has a tail on it
>character for claw looks like a claw
>Those two fucking ores you can only get from one mining node the canyon during the day/night
The difference between 400 and 500 defense is pretty great, and easily obtained. There's no reason not to upgrade armor. It only doesn't make a difference for certain 140s, like Rajang or (most) of Jho's shit.
Learn to trust the Konchu, anon. Lately, they've actually been helping me out by hitting me out of the way and cancelling animations.
Bullfango, on the other hand, have caused me nothing but grief, borne straight from their stupid, ugly, arrogant, cunt faces. They make me so angry.
I don't have it unlocked :^)
Is sub 10 a good time for G2 zinogre with LBG non heroics?, it's my first time trying a TA and I got it on 8:32, can do him with HBG in less (around 6 or 7 mins) but I saw there's no time for LBG and I tried to go for it.
how much extra damage do charge attacks for greatsword actually do, is it worth it to get a full charge or to get as many whacks as i can instead
also i swear to god after a point the only monsters in this game are poisonous fire breathing dragon that same tail swipes
The Japanese TA for LBG on that quest is faster than all but 2 melee weapons (GS and CB), so I think you can push it closer to what the other weapons are at if you grind it out.
Because Zinogre's head is very unfriendly to most melee since it's in the sky and staggers easily which sends it out of reach. CB and GS can still hit it for high damage and actually benefit from the stagger, but IG can't, so you pretty much just hit the back legs instead. Ranged weapons don't have this problem of course, and they aren't bothered too much by him running around either.
Thanks m8, to be frank I messed up alot and I had a much better time in the morning while taking a shit, going to emulate this jap guy, hitting ziggy's head is ez until he becomes enraged, then he rarely gives you a chance unless he does something stupid, I do need to position myself better when he breakdances, I always en up besides his rear legs, instead of in front of him to land some potshots
>need to grind G Rank Fatalis to get parts for gloves
>randos too scared to even join 90% of the time
>any group that bothers to try always leaves after one death
>still to much of a shitter to solo it or basically get carried by /mhg/
What defense rating/skills should I have to stand a chance against G Rank Fatalis? Highest I have is 580 with 10 fire defense
Pre-order already up.
Is the only way of getting true and strong armor spheres is from combining it with armor spheres? Because thats going take a shit ton of time to farm enough armor stones to upgrade all my gear
>our must successful naked Cham run was ruined at ~15min/broken horn by a lagspike from my roommates playing Destiny
Shit FPS why
Long animations, no burst damage, long sheath/draw/transform times, launches/trips teammates, reliance on stamina to capitalize on an incapped monster, has to sharpen and charge phials, slow movement speed while drawn, dulls fast.
You get the idea. None of them are particularly crippling though.
It's not that great, it's probably just better suited to your playstyle than other weapons. CB is very similar in many ways and is also just better, and it's only like the fourth best weapon in terms of kill times (though arguably the best in terms of safety due to GP and reactive rather than predictive burst).
Unless you make some jarring mistake, no one's going to laugh at you. If there's one thing that's always true on 4chan, it's that if you're EVER laughed at, you likely deserve it. So what did you do to deserve it?
>reliance on stamina to capitalize on an incapped monster,
yeah it's always fun to pop a stamina juice and use that hack and slash move.
I try to use sword mode more in multiplayer and stick with the X - A combo unless i'm not close to everyone else when the monster goes down.
maybe one day they'll fix the phials around.
Naked pickle TA. Wish I was good enough to reliably roll tremors and roars but I fail them like half the time.
well it took me 3 hours from start to finish but i now have the full crimson armor set
i also lucky enough have a +7 constitution 000 slot talisman
including my 000 slot awakened para weapons
did i waste my time
skills i have on
crit eye 1
Also, listening to that new orchestra CD posted earlier in this thread (or the last), and I'm reminded how much I like Moga Village's music. Like a lot. I don't know what it is about that particular track, but it's just so calming.
Man, blast and poison still reign over elements?
So many monsters in 4u are weak to poison, if not, they're weak to blast, and if they're not weak to blast or poison raw is probably the better way to go. Element buff when? Or does element x +1 or 2 actually help that much?
Pretty sure poison is almost useless in G except as part of Kushala's gimmick, due to inflated health, consistent poison damage regardless of rank and the fact that it's damage over time instead of an immediate burst like blast. Blast is always building up, poison doesn't build up while it's already procced, at least as far as I can tell. If it did it would be great though, and it IS great in low and high rank.
Blast also isn't as good as slime was in 3U, but yeah, it's still good, and exponentially better if you use it in a group or on multi monster hunts.
Raw is almost always the best thing for soloing and status+blast for groups, and elemental damages only have their niches on a tiny handful of monsters that have severe weaknesses though, which I think is really lame.
Hmmm I see. Poison does reduced damage in G?
Btw for the record I killed a village "g" rank shrouded nerscylla in 13 minutes with a regular rarity 4 dios katana, no attack buffs. I know him and s queen are special cases though.
>Poison does reduced damage in G?
No. His point was that G monsters have such a high amount of HP that Poison, relatively, contributes far less.
It's still useful, just not AS useful.
It's not that it does reduced damage, it's that it does almost the exact same damage. With sleep, you're not still applying status while the monster is asleep, you're setting bombs and waiting for the GS to mosey over to the monster's head and smash that bitch's skull in. With paralysis the status doesn't last very long, so you create a pretty decent opening that hugely increases team dps, and then almost immediately start applying paralysis again. With blast there's no downtime whatsoever, you just keep applying blast to the next proc every time it procs because it's instant. Blast still deals constant damage even in G, but G rank blast weapons have much higher blast values so they also proc more often; Sleep's value is proportional to the highest damage your team can do and also procs more often in G, and paralysis is proportional to the optimal damage per second of your entire team and procs more often in G. With poison you gain like 2 to 10 dps over the course of 30 seconds to a minute, during which time your weapon is basically just a weak pure raw weapon, and then have to build it up and proc it again. 10 extra dps is tremendous in low rank and pitiful in g rank, and building up faster isn't a huge boon when you have 30-60 seconds' downtime where it isn't even building up.
I could be totally wrong, but I used a poison weapon for most of the game so I'm pretty sure it can't build up and proc twice. If it could it would be fine for hunts that lasted ~5 minutes or more to begin with.
That's the issue with Poison.
I heard that Poison does keep building once it's inflicted on a monster, but all that does is prevent it from wearing off, i.e., you could technically keep a monster poisoned for the entire fight. Could be wrong, though.
There's nothing wrong with Poison at all. Use it to your heart's content. Azure Skylark is one of my favorite CBs.
It's just not 100% optimally implemented, that's all. It won't get you blacklisted or anything
That's fine. It's basically absolutely essential for kushala daora and rusted kushala, since it cuts their windpress bullshit and makes them approachable and shootable, and it does enough damage to some monsters like jho that it won't be THAT much weaker than an elemental or raw weapon. Plus poison weapons often look really cool, especially the nerscylla ones.
So what are the pros to guild quests and what quests should I be looking for?
>what are the pros
What do you mean, like the reasons you'd do them? They level up to become the game's greatest challenges, they're great for grinding certain monsters for parts without having to cycle for advanced quests, you can gather nice materials including trading gratuities for the wycoon on them (though you can do that on expeditions too), and the two most important things, they're the only way to get divine and I believe true armour spheres, and they're how you get relics, which are the strongest weapons in the game and also some decent armours that often look nice.
If you're just grinding for armour spheres or whatever, go with whatever monster is easiest or most fun for you. Obviously if you're grinding for monster parts go with the monster you need parts from. If you're grinding for relics, look for a guide on which monsters give which relic skins (I believe the OP pastebin has one but it might not, see >>121568738), figure out which you want, then look for a quest that has that monster in the first slot, that weapon/armour bias, and ideally a second slot occupied by rajang (deviljho also gives you a very high chance for good relics, but takes much longer to kill than rajang, and if you're relic grinding you want to shave off as much time as possible).
Regardless of what you go with, try to get quests where the monster/one of the monsters is in the first area after you leave the starting zone. It's just more convenient.
even then, never, EVER get smushed under his chest. That's the one move that will only hit if you're greedy, and it will fuck you up.
took me 5+ full time tries to finally solo it with IG, but it should be perfectly possible to repel it with any other weapon.
I personally don't recommend wasting time on the dragonator if you can't handle the flamethrowers.
my only guess is that either the initial stagger also discharged it and its trying to work up enough charge to throw you off, or by properly mounting before it does a charge attack, you've "grounded" yourself to it in some way.
Zinogre's easy, the bugs don't like people ruffling them.
Khezu has to ground itself with its tail to discharge electricity. It's probably too panicked with a hunter stabbing it in the neck. Plus even if it did you wouldn't be affected since the electricity wouldn't be able to reach the ground through you, and like the rest of its body you'd be protected by its tail. To hurt you it would have to do something that would probably hurt itself more.
Better question is why Tigrex scraping you against the ground doesn't turn you into hamburger meat.
What even is MHO's flagship monster? A fire Lagiacrus/Zinogre hybrid?
Also, I like that they showed a couple hunters carrying a Diablos horn back home, and that a cat was having a hard time trying to show another hunter his new Big McLargehueg hammer, makes my realism boner rock hard.
Estrellian. A still unknown species monster that controls exploding butterflies. It seriously look like the shittiest monster in the game gameplay-wise.
>Palicos wearing Basarios armor turn into rocks when they crouch
Anyone willing to party with a G1 shitter to do some key quests and get T.Zam parts?
Pass: in the OP
No, I got them, thanks though
Its just that I made the mistake of joining from what seemed to be a innocent Custom Quest and I got those tickets in the reward, Now my save is forever tainted with those unobtainable tickets, damn it.
Thanks a lot for the help /mhg/ I can get the remaining materials via Caravan for that sweet T.Zam CB.
You guys are nice really. I don't know why that shitposter was complaining about not getting a full room.
>Bored and looking up Frontier G9 updates
because I play Frontier
>Lets you look up individual items when crafting weapons and armor to see what monster and what rank of monster drop that item
Truly the best updates are the smallest ones.
Is it me, or are the type advantages in Meownster hunters complete bullshit? I send a bunch of melee cats out on a hunt primarily consisting of ranged monsters or a bunch of bomb cats against melee monsters, but all I get are humble scraps and the occasional handsome scrap.
Making equipment for cats is 110% fucked.
>No Shaggy theme
Why does Gore so much love.
Pass: the usual
Let's have fun together!
>my experience dictates how all experiences go
yeah nah man, you're dumb if you think because you got a full room on mhg means this place is lively and always looking to help others
Element Attack +3 is the single biggest damage boost to elemental shots, far stronger than anything else, the only problem is that it's hard to gem in as opposed to other offensive skills. All your points come from Tali + Decorations most likely because no good armor gives points in it
The true naked run weapon.
One thing I feel like people miss when explaining paralysis is that it isn't only "the monster's standing still beat the fuck out of it," all oncoming raw damage gets a 1.1x modifier hung on it.
Finished her a few days ago. Not exactly minmaxed, but Honed Blade, Edge Lord, EE + E1
>tfw no max raw/40 purp/200 para UltimateHoned Tessen with green glow
I didn't mention relics because they are endgame only, farming relics midgame would be a waste of time, and the probability of getting a good one is really low, especially if solo.
Edge 3 Evasion 6 ---. The lack of slottage is kind of tragic.
I made it for some relic guild Knight sabers, but it's pretty multipurpose if fashion > optimisation
which it is
Would the relic system be more tolerable if
>You can pry decorations from weapons to free up slots, but it destroys the decoration permanently
>Upgrading an armor to max allows you to pay a final, huge amount of cash/caravan points to turn it into a standalone decoration for whatever it's gemmed with minus 1 point (max edgemaster would be +3 3-slot, max edge lore would be +4 1-slot, etc)
Post Ace Gunner pics.
It's virtually impossible anon, something good looking for someone can be shit for another, not to mention there is no way to code good looking, what I want for it to do is by letting me order the results by armor piece as in only show options with x helmet or x legs
I want to make a sexy huntress.
What Blademaster skills work well with the Sororal Armor and Headgear?
Preferably the usual (Honed and Steady)
Fleet feet and sharpness is a good combo for swaxe, but you're not using honed blade, use baraq sedition and stack attack up (you can stack XL with a good charm) and add evasion +1, hone for life if you're bad and keep losing the fleet feet attack buff
She's the worst Ace
such a boring character
Glad she has next to no fanart
Are Lightbreak Twins worth the grind? I want to play DBs again after getting carried by a really good DB user (you know who you are) but the Brach Obliterators sound like they're going to be a pain to get.
We have Drag- I mean Monster Hunter XU for next year, right?
For what purpose would one have all these akills?
>join a fishing lobby
>forget to check whether it has a passcode
>it's three guys actually fishing
>still think it must be a /mhg/ room because why would a fishing room ever exist otherwise
>do two fishing quests with them, confused as fuck the whole time
You need purple sharpness, so honed blade or sharpness+1 if you don't have it naturally. If your purple sharpness is low, razor sharp to go with it. Then you need "essential" skills for your weapon (things like quick sheathe / crit draw on GS, maestro on horn, etc.) After that, you split the difference between DPS skills like Challenger, or defensive skills if you feel like you need them.
If you're worried about getting carried, then I'd put a premium on evasion / defensive skills. No one will mind if you're doing slightly less damage than them, they'll mind if you cart, so given the choice between evasion+1 or challenger+1, go for the former.
>farming relics midgame would be a waste of time
That isn't actually true. You wouldn't be able to upgrade them later on into the best relics, but relics are generally better than the craftable weapons you can make from similar ranked monster hunts at any point in the game. In fact in my experience it's only in G where you're unlikely to get a relic that's even slightly better than the best things you can craft in that rank.
The fact that you replace them instead of upgrading them is just one of the multitude of things wrong with relics, but if you want the best weapon for any given point in the game after you unlock GQs it'll always be a relic.
Good raw, insane blast, okay sharpness, two slots.
One of the best DB out there, Idiots use Hellruin Glaive or Teo SnS trying to abuse blast in vain.
Don't be an idiot and use Bombardier with it though, 300 is a lot more than you'll ever need.
I probably will have less than 600 but once I hit crown I'll focus on upgrading defense. I don't cart much anyway and it's not like I'm doing 140s I have 480 with evasion +1 and I'm fine...for most monsters
>Come back after a couple months of not playing
>All those masks from November's DLC
Is FOOTBALL dead? Can we do MASCOTS now?
Post monsters you hate with all your heart and would run into extinction.
All rath subspecies besides silver
Iodrome and prey
Fuck all of these guys.
With "a waste of time" I don't mean that they are bad.
I mean that endgame relics are completely better than craftable weapons, and your last step for getting best equipment.
But midgame relics can be quickly left behind as you progress. So unlike you are planning to stay on lower ranks for a long time, they are not worth the farm, and unlike craftable weapons they cannot be upgraded to be relevant in higher ranks.
baka senpai desu
You don't even need to farm long to get a good lower-rank relic, though. Like 1/4 of the relics you get will be better than craftables, you can easily find a decent one in the time it would take you to forge a new craftable weapon from hunting the same monster three times.
With no hesitation or regard for the ecosystems that could shatter as a result, I just want a gigantic bison skull style attack of extinct Ceph.
every boring and fat monster
Kirin and sub
Dude. Savescumming relic hammers became my life for a minute there. Check this r6, mmf
Also join naked rooms, whoever you are. We're nearly to Gog
I wish Y2K and Garuga didn't have so much character, because I hate them so much otherwise. Well, not Ku-Ku so much, but definitely Garuga.
>Fighting a crimson fatalis with other hunters
>It dies and most of it's body goes out of bounds
>Can only get 3 carves
His dad is a retard and his mom a slut, so probably.
But is there anyone he doesn't hate?
Awe, you're getting rid of some of the best.
As much as it pisses me off, I like Stygian Zinogre and quite like all the raths.
Remove both Gravios, Khezu, and Gigginox.
Give me a monster fest of all the Great Jaggi types at the same time. G. Jaggi, Gendrome, Velocidrome, Iodrome, Giadrome, Baggi, Wroggi.
Still need to make a dragon claw x gloves to finish my mixed set but since my current armor is shit I am probably going to have to find a work around until I can get enough spheres to upgrade my armor past 600 defense.
Are their any other gloves that give +3 handicraft and +3 sharpness?
It's clearly rathian, compare the chin. You can't see the fur patch on the back but it wouldn't be visible from any of those angles anyway.
It could be a male BYKK and a pink rathian though.
What if we combined Rathian and Rathalos into a single monster? Rathialos with a Platinum Rathialos as a rare species. All the tail flips and homing talons you could ever dream of.
Really just goldian for the raths, I'm fine with double pinkian hunts, I'm fine with an azurelos once in a while, but I'd seriously fuck goldian through her goddamn neck if my dick didn't bounce off it.
This picture perfectly describes my feelings about Goldian.
Please, for future titles, make breaks actually matter in the fight. If I cut a tail I want to cut off the fucking poison and lower the damage. If I break blos horns I want its charges to be weaker. So on and so forth.
>Do level 32 basarios guild quest
>Get a rarity 2 sns
>Level one already has 168 raw
>Tons of green sharpness
This thing already outclasses every rarity 2 sns besides poison battle axe. I now see the power of relics.
