First for Marie's a terrible character.
Persona's not a real Megaten.
You will be given Marie and you will like it.
Well, i finally did it. I found and beaten all the fiends in SMT4. I had to solo trumpeter for the last fiend. Overall, i enjoyed fighting the fiends but the searching i can do without. I got really lucky only spent about an hour searching for each fiend.
i think it's about time a honest version of this pic got made
>tfw got in to SMT last year
>Still haven't beat any of the 8 I'm going back and forth between
I can post my nocturne party if you'd like guys
>SMTIV, first smt
>fuse everything so hard i spend 5 hours fusing everything before going into the first demon domain
>eventually level is too low to fuse anything new
>rape train ensues
>get stuck on medusa 3 hours later
>realize there's a pattern to her moves
>the single phys hits are weak, no problem
>the zionga doesn't do much damage but i have to remove 2 guys because they're weak to it
>put zan everywhere because she's weak to it
>still die a lot
>fuse Zan Tsu She or whatever the green groundhog looking thing is because he's immune to gun and that's what killed me the last few times
>it's level 9 while the party is 13 and medusa is 15
>protag dies 3rd turn
>1st demon dies next turn
>spriggan and green sanic are left
>fuck it, zan and crit wave until death
>she uses the 3x gun move
>it all hits green sanic
>she uses zionga
>spriggan crits next turn
RNG cut me a break i guess. Took a break during corpse cleanup duty because it's looking like I'm going to need to fuse more dudes. Pretty neat game so far though.
It's impossible to make an honest version of those images since they're all about making stupid generalizations.
Yes, I love Persona 2, but I like pretty much all Megaten games, including Persona 3 and 4. The only one I've played so far that felt like a chore was P1
P1 is actually the best though, sorry for your homowad taste.
Not him but I really wish rational people made up more than 3% of the total SMT fanbase.
I've played P2 through P4, plus Strange Journey and SMTIV, and while some were better than others, none were total shit like you see accusations of in every SMT thread ever.
I want to fuck Mirai
It's not so much exaggerating as what I think the english for is "Ad Hominem" where you don't really say any reasons but just call it shit. That and waifus ruins 100% of threads.
I don't think I've ever seen what I think is a legitimate complaint about a persona game, just something like "Persona 4 is shit because the gameplay is shit".
I know there's valid reasons for thinking P4's rpg mechanics aren't as good as some other SMT games, but no one ever says them in posting.
On-topic note is Raidou Kuzunoha any good? Action RPG SMT sounds hit or miss
I've seen plenty of valid complaints leveled at P4, mostly to do with the atmosphere, characters and dungeons.
As for Raidou, the first one's combat isn't fantastic but it's bearable, while the second massively improves the combat by making it less clunky and faster in general.
The tone, story, and characters in P4 are all pretty bad compared to the other Persona games. It's still a fun game though. The gameplay (and by that, I mean combat system) is the best in the Persona series.
While the dungeons weren't exactly great, they weren't that bad either. It's really just the over all feel of the game. It was way too happy happy.
Just curious but I'm just about to get a Vita and I was wondering if P3 and P4 are a good place to jump in having never really touched persona or SMT in the past. Am I gonna have a bad time?
The feel of the game was definitely different from the others but I really liked how much of a change of pace it was. Proved to me that they weren't afraid to try something completely different. Plus a lot of the subtext implied a dark sort of undertone, since everyone must be a pretty sadistic son of a bitch deep down to have Ameno Sagiri show up to fix things. Even towards the end when shit hit the fan with the fog and everything pretty much every npc was concerned only with themselves, even when classmates and teachers started ending up murdered.
4G is widely regarded as the best entry point into the series, but P3P isn't entirely agreed upon. A lot of people will advise playing FES instead for dat 3D and dat Answer. It's also the first time they used social links and the mechanics behind them aren't very good in any edition of the game. Worth a play for veterans, but I've known it to be very off-putting to newcomers.
They're good starting points since they're easy and will familiarize you with the spell names and fusion, but you need to keep in mind that they're basically VNs with bad dungeon crawling tacked on.
They are also slow games, P4 for instance, has a 2-hour long section of nothing but dialogue before the tutorial fight.
They're both pretty easy to get into. I'd recommend playing Persona 3 FES on PS2 over Persona 3 Portable, but if it's easier for you to play P3P, go ahead with that one, it doesn't make a huge difference.
I'd play it, but I don't want it to be made.
Yeah but like >>74974138 said it's got a dark undertone. I think of it as a safe haven for new SMT players before diving into the more dark and brutal games. It's SMT-lite in a lot of ways.
That it does, and I'd argue that some of them are even better than their DeSu1 counterparts. I especially like the Septembertrombone themes.
Now, if only everything but the combat wasn't so average.
What's with these longer than normal wait times.
And here it is combined, after I learned Irfanview can do this shit properly. YHVH bless open source.
I DON'T KNOW, YOU TELL ME
Oh yes. Dekaja made the fate sisters a joke. >>74975238
I don't think my DEX and STR are higher than 20 in IV
Pretty much have everything in AG and MA, some extra luck too for smirks. Phys seems underpowered in IV.
>not giving your main character all balanced stats
Thanks, while I'm still here, is there any really good place to get a Vita right now the only place I can see in my area is the $200 Borderlands bundle at gamestop and I'm probably just gonna sell the Borderlands code.
You should be around the point where you can get Divine Shot, or at least the Magatama Divine Shot is on, so I'd recommend replacing one of your other physical skills with it. Divine Shot's crit rate is obscenely high, and it looks cool as hell.
I think it's on an Expel-type Magatama though, so rev up those Mudo-related game overs. You'll also want to consider either getting Fog Breath or Taunt on Demi-fiend, or somehow getting them on your demons. Taunt+Dekaja is such a handy combo.
I was wondering how viable a scream team build would be.
It'd be comprised of a party comprised entirely of demons and abilities that involves screaming.
Shiikome, Daisoujou's meditation, Taruka's constant screaming for spellcasting, War Cry on demifiend/etcetera
Vi/Ag +Stone Multistrike build wrecks everything in DeSu2, even stuff immune to Curse because of the sheer amount of hits Multistrike deals. Maybe throw in a Force Dance if something gets petrified and survives the barrage. You won't even need Pierce because most things that get petrified will get shattered by the rest of the hits anyway.
Lu builds are pretty good in any game since Lu effects so much stuff. I hear it's really good in SH and I can personally recommend it for DDS. Glass cannon builds are also good in any game for MAXIMUM POWER.
I want to fuck Haniel.
Is there any way to tell what alignment you are in Nocturne? I want to stock up on the darkstone watchamacallems so I can fuse me some skeletons. From what I read you need to be neutral to get the third kalpa in amala.
It's just a school uniform with a hat, cape, and weird holsters, isn't it? It's not that bad-looking, but I still don't understand why you'd want to wear it around. I'm convinced that the only people that want to wear school uniforms are people that have never had to wear them.
Is it safe for me to read Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Lone Marebito even if haven't finished the first two games? There's a huge ass storm coming tomorrow, and I'm looking for some manga to download on my Nexus 7 in case my power goes out.
That's because it's just a suit-y jacket, slacks, and sneakers.
It probably wouldn't be hard to do, but I don't think anyone would recognise you. He looks too normal (sans the sneakers I guess).
Is that you anon? Are you the one who wanted to wear the raidou cape?
This reminds me. Anyone have the picture of that one anon's brother-in-law? The one where he's wearing a cape in public.
Whoever said I had the expertise, technical knowledge, or really anything resembling any sort of skill to be a hacker? I'd fit right in with the rest of the Spookies.
The mass-hysteria is leaking over onto reddit. Now even anyone there who posts more than two lines of text gets accused of being beadman.
So, why is Fumi so good?
I mean, she has never turned out bad in any of my playthrough (And I have had some bad ones, like Asturo wanting to be a magical girl)
Its a tiny link. Most people who go there probably don't even notice it unless they're looking for it.
The funniest part is that I don't think the bead man has mentioned persona in his life. These people apparently can't even tell the difference between persona and anything else.
Yeah, most of Beadman's rants are about law and law as an alignment choice doesn't even exist in Persona 3/4. The only MegaTen he's posted about that didn't include alignments was DDS, I think.
>I'm just about to get a Vita
Honestly curious, how does anyone justify buying a Vita now? Yeah, I get that there are maybe half a dozen must-haves on it, but on the whole it's just not a very sound investment.
>why does this general exist
Because people aren't willing to let go I guess. I've seen these threads slow to a crawl plenty of times.
Plus Persona still counts as SMT, regardless of what some others might say. Maybe we should merge back with /pg/. I'm sure plenty of people would LOVE that!
DDS vagely included alignments in a roundabout way. Some random character insisted that jenna was chaos and margot was lawful, and then roland said that he likes the idea of being balanced instead of one extreme.
Or maybe the autists could just not bitch when people are having fun and discussing other things. No matter how often people point out to them that having a dead general is not preferable they keep doing it.
Alternatively, maybe we could try to get some new people in. They'd whine about that even more, but its probably for the best.
I am a TRU DEMN LORD. ID use magic since i have no strength, but might be smart lol. (in mah mind. 180iq)
Because retards who don't know any better flock to where they can find like-minded people, where they can circlejerk in their own little hugbox about how Yukiko is best waifu, and there is no discussion about gameplay.
Much like how /v/ rarely actually discusses SMT games anymore, just the waifus. And it's always P4.
Aigis and any robot girl from FE
Is mantorok, the ancient of order and chaos law or chaos?
Isn't reddit more of a world of strength than /smtg/ though? You need those upvotes to survive in reddit. World of upvotes. The way I see it
Reddit - Chaos
4chan - Neutral
Law - not sure, maybe neoGAF
What's your favorite demon/persona design?
My favorite's were probably Dojima's and Hisano's.
>that feel when there are no robot girls in FE
I don't think there's even any golems.
Neutral, obviously. He just wants the other ancients to stay the fuck out of his house.
Vetala is probably one of my favorites. Also, it's not a demon but I love the way the Demonica looks.
You basically want emotionless bitches right? FE7's got a few.
I never even had a copy. I rented it long ago in the forgotten age of Blockbusters and Video Warehouses, and have never been able to find a copy since.
Vetala does look pretty awesome.
>it's not a demon but I love the way the Demonica looks
Sure it is.
No he doesn't.
If you play all three endings its revealed that he split time into three paths to kill all the other three at once. Its never revealed whether this is because its on the side of humans, or It just wanted to fuck them over, or whether it wants to eliminate them to take power itself. Since its dying the game half makes you assume that its sacrificing itself too in order to do this.
There was meant to be a sequel to reveal what the fifth "yellow" ancient vaguely hinted at was, but it never happened.
>implying robot girls have to be emotionless
Aigis and Labrys certainly have emotions. It's been a while since I watched it, but I'm pretty sure the robot girl from The Big O was developing emotions.
I remember the last time I saw a blockbuster. It was probably around a year ago. It felt so weird and out of place. I went inside and there was no one there but the employees.
I never finished all the endings. I heard about the time split stuff, but I never got around to doing the last ending. Man, I really need to play that again.
They're still around? I'm pretty sure all the ones near me have closed.
>Implying law sociopaths have enough empathy to be kind
>doing what you have to and dying in the process to maximize utility for all life isn't kind.
Neutral, pls go. Go listen to blink 182 while watching mind of mencia.
Shit you little punk did you are you really trying to tell me what to do like you run this place I will kick your little puss lawfag ass if you don't fuckign stop telling me what to do.
I-if I post more pictures of Aigis will you stop being mad at me?
>being naive and oblivious to reality makes things better.
People are going to die and suffer anyways. The only difference between it happening and you trying to alter the situation to minimize it is that its emotionally easier for you to handle by pretending that if you "don't get directly involved" that it means you're not culpable. That doesn't make it any better for the people who suffer however.
You're prioritizing everyone who will ever exist in the future over only those in the present. Even lucifer admits that the plan would work.
But autists are chaos. Its not about not seeing people as people. Its about now neutral pretends like more people suffering is "seeing them as people" when its actually just you pretending that you're not responsible because you refuse to be directly involved. Its all about prioritizing your own emotions, then trying to shuffle around the reality to feel less bad about what you're doing.
>People are going to die and suffer anyways. The only difference between it happening and you trying to alter the situation to minimize it is that its emotionally easier for you to handle by pretending that if you "don't get directly involved" that it means you're not culpable.
So if I murdered you right now in a way that was instant and painless, that would be lawful because I was preventing you from suffering? What about if I committed genocide in order to end the suffering of a group of people, which would then increase the amount of food and medicine available for everyone else? That's kindness?
>missing the point.
Can't say I'm surprised. No. Lawful would be if the only way to save five people on a train track was pushing me in front of the train. I might complain, but so what. Five people are worth more than one. Killing random people for vague or ill defined gains or trivial ones is not good. The angels in overclocked even point this out to you directly, saying that doing that would be bad, and that it is only good when you can literally see the future, so you know who has the brand of death.
It's actually Neutral because it accepts everyone anonymously from the most lawful mods and janitors all the way to the most chaotic trolls and shitposters.
>the whole thing devolves to chaos while people fight it out
This is a good point, though.
>Five people are worth more than one.
I think this is where things get murky. What if they're five serial killers? What if they're all geriatric and the person being pushed is nine years old? Law and Chaos suck because philosophies so militant can't be one-size-fits-all
Yeah, but Law and Chaos are by definition insanely biased and exclusionary philosophies. People are the same on an irrelevant basis, but wouldn't their actions define the worth of their life? What if fives NEETs have their lives weighed against a cancer researcher?
That's not the logic being murky, its you not taking it far enough. Serial killers aren't worth less than other people because people are worth differently, they're worth less because people AREN'T worth differently (theoretically, at least). Peoples total worth takes into account how they are going to effect other people. If saving those people would result in them killing ten or twenty people, then obviously not saving them is better.
But the average five people aren't five serial killers.
The thing is, you literally can not know how those people will affect others in the future. There's no telling whether or not the 1 person you kill to save the 5 others will grow up to cure cancer and solve world hunger or grow up to be worse than Hitler. The same applies to the 5. Unless you can see the future, that's not a choice you should be allowed to make for any person but yourself.
I'm pretty sure defining someone by the past effect they've had on people would be best in terms of who lives and who died. Five serial killers have had a much worse effect on way more people than one kid has. One doctor has had a way better effect on more people than five NEETs have. So it's clear who to kill.
There's no such option as you not making the choice. If you're there, then your choice to do nothing is you prioritizing the one over the five, in a situation that in any real sense is nothing but you choosing to kill one or five. The idea that that's "not" whats happening is a construct your mind makes because individuals can't emotionally handle this reality, so pretending there's a way for them to "not be involved" makes them not feel culpable.
The logic of your chosen conclusion is a presupposition failure. Its not a coherent concept, so you're trying to base what "should" be done off of something that only exists in your head. In a real situation where you don't know what good can come from certain evils, the nuance is what causes the hesitation to be a good thing. If you knew absolutely that you were saving 5 by -1, then without knowing their futures that is simply the right thing to do.
If you're going to say its not, you have to hold to your logic forever. Is it wrong to kill one to save 100? 10,000? 10,000,000? The logic gets progressively more ridiculous the more you add, yet your absolute declaration would have to hold true even in those cases.
>you have to hold to your logic forever
Says who? Humans are ever changing emotional beings. I honestly would let a train hit five people rather than one because fives a big number and I don't want to be involved and don't think I should be choosing what happens to those people anyways, but if it's one person for 10,000,000 I'm 100% going to let the train hit the one dude.
If your argument has nothing to do with what should be done, and is instead is you saying what you would do based on your feelings at the time, there's no point in making it a discussion.
...Except that some of the ones used are very close to them? You should actually learn what you're talking about before you run your mouth like a neckbeard. There's a lot of real problems with the bible. Not knowing more or less what the original versions contained is not one of them.
>Devil Summoner 2

What does the motherfucker look like he should be from some claymation horror video, or something?
He is. A lot of the artwork for IV was made using real 3d clay models, and then a photo was taken and converted into s sprite. So in some wierdass way, smtIV has claymation enemies.
>A lot of the artwork for IV was made using real 3d clay models
Wait, really? That's actually kinda cool. It definitely makes Yaso Magatsuhihihi look otherworldly, but I haven't noticed it with any other demons so far.
Can someone explain to me how inheritance works in Soul Hackers? I've gone through six different fusion systems before playing this and finally I've found the one that makes 0 sense to me. At this point I'm just fusing at random and watching out for useful abilities.
Neat. I don't think Omoikane and Pluto look as much like clay models as Yaso Magatsuhihihi does, but that's still pretty cool.
dont be a technical faggot, I'm gonna by whats said on the case
I was reading youtube comments under a Nocturne video saying that TDE is the least logical choice in Nocturne, but is it really? I always thought breaking the cycle was a good thing. I don't care about screwing up the worlds that are in the middle of regeneration, mine included, if that stops the destruction cycle in the others. Would you choose a Reason if you were in the Demi-Fiend's place? Or go reset button?
>Reading youtube comments
I know, I know.
Non-true demon ending.
I just want to chill with my demonic pals.
Because you slaughter all humans in the world and end anything like human existence in favor of making an unending timeless form of libertarianism. Eternity in hell with ayn rand is about the worst fate imaginable.
I've been seeing this "chaos is libertarianism" bs for the last couple days here. I'd just like to say, Libertarianism barely exists in Japan as a movement. In fact, I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist there at all. So a game made by people in Japan referencing Libertarianism is just not likely. At best, Shiki Patriot might have been a Libertarian before it was killed.
Shijima, like the law end of SJ and the White end of IV, just seems to much like throwing a tantrum and declaring 'life is cheating, so I just won't play'
Musubi would be boring because nothing will surprise you, meaning you'll end up understimulated and unsatisfied.
Yosuga might be bearable, but since it's being made by someone like Chiaki, I doubt her definition of 'strong' would be flexible enough to add variety to the world
the Neutral ending is satisfactory, because it isn't a straight up undoing of the events. You basically get to go back to the life you left, but with demon powers and a brand of an enemy of god. You'd probably have enough time to get all the things you want out of a human life before you were forced to fight again, assuming God doesn't just nuke the whole world the next day out of spite.
Demon ending is also acceptable, since once you get sick of the vortex world you can use the Amala network to travel to other worlds
Were I in Demi-Fiend's place, I'd be worried about losing my free will if I dedicated myself to becoming a pure demon. It's said elsewhere in the game that demons are unable to change themselves, only humans are capable of change. While there's a couple instances in the franchise where demons do change, it's always because of a human. On the other hand, Lucifer is very charismatic, and by that point I might be too drunk on power to hesitate
I think I saw him say his reasoning was something like "fedorafags like chaos and libertarianism, therefore chaos is libertarianism." Which seems like pretty standard retardation for a lawfag, really.
Actually, that ties in with the themes. In japan, the chaos side is viewed as far worse than law, since to them it has no positives whereas law are well intentioned extremists. Often when japanese people talk about it they accidentally call law the "good" side or if they prefer neutral say that law is good and chaos is bad but that the law side is "too much of a good thing and thus becomes bad." Apparently when the games were first coming out, many people didn't even know there were multiple endings because multiple endings was rare at the time, and by Japanese culture standards chaos was obviously the bad side since it bore no resemblance to anything a japanese person would consider ideal.
I found the butthurt fedorafag libertarians. What's more, chaos wasn't even anarchy in the early games. Yama is a judge, and they definitely imply that they plan on having an actual system with leaders and ranks. Lucifer calls himself a literal monarch. I get that libertarians who don't want to sound evil pick neutral, but that doesn't mean you can ignore the implications its actually getting at. Chaos is also "militarism," and other things.
>butthurt fedorafag libertarian
Not even close, Beadman. I'm Neutral and don't actually identify as any political party. They all have some good and some bad ideas, I think. It's just that every time I see someone try to defend law, they always sound way more retarded than the chaos guys. Who are still retarded, by the way.
I wonder how SMT would be like if it was not made in Japan. Culture there is more communtity oriented making Law more appealing, while /smtg/ has abundance of chaosfags due to muh country of freedom.
Some people speculate that the reason that there's so much chaos favoritism in the series is that law is so popular in japan that they're trying to balance it out. If it was made in the west there might be more times in game that law is actually viewed as more directly sympathetic.
Has anyone even tried to defend chaos? Even now, everyone's trying to wash their hands of it and insist that it corresponds in no way with anything analogous of something sane people want in the real world?
>Has anyone even tried to defend chaos? Even now, everyone's trying to wash their hands of it and insist that it corresponds in no way with anything analogous of something sane people want in the real world?
That's probably why they sound less retarded, really. They're not so quick to justify themselves or ramble on about how it's totally a good thing to murder and genocide for the greater good.
>law and chaos are both different sides of the same coin
No doubt. Chaos does it because they can. Law does it because they think they're infallible and try to justify it by saying it's for a greater good, which you'd need to be able to know the future to do it "right."
That's why Chaosfags are more tolerable Lawfags, even though they're both retarded. The only justification you'll see out of Chaosfags is "WURLD OF STR BITCH." Meanwhile, Lawfags will write you a 10 page essay on why killing everyone but this small group of people, which you may or may not be a part of, is a good thing.
I find chaos preferable to law, because one of laws goals is to try and make sure the law will never be otherthrown, ranging from information control, social manipulation, and surveillance, to at it's most cartoonish extreme ripping the free will out of people.
Chaos, on the other hand, prefers to rely on increasing its own power rather than making it impossible for potential adversaries to gain power. Outside of the scarcity of resources, chaos openly challenges anyone to gain power and overthrow the current rulers if they don't like how things are run.
No matter how terrible a tyrant, chaos allows for reform. The only reform law approves of is when the society strays too far from a preset 'ideal' that was typically concocted by someone who doesn't have to live in that kind of society after they make it.
tl;dr I think a bad society that can still be made better in the future is preferable to a stagnant and static society that rejects change. Although that in itself is probably more a neutral view.
Its not my fault no one here has studied philosophy. The point isn't that genocide is somehow magically good. The point is that the ideology represented by law is good, but that like chaos, the games show an absolute extreme version of it that is represented as badly as possible just to make neutral look good. And they throw in a random totally unnecessary genocide, combined with unnecessary hypocrisy onto the law side in each game just to make sure it doesn't accidentally look good. People aren't sitting around saying that as its actually represented its uncontroversially good. They often complain about how extreme it is represented, but then side with law or chaos anyways as indications of their orientation. Which is why they bring up that devil survivor gives the actually sought after more fair representation. You're confusing the games themselves for what people are actually saying thematically in relation to them.
Strictly speaking though, chaos only wants to allow reform from one chaotic leader to another one. They still often plan on having "fight (physically) to get ahead in society" to be a staple forever. Which is why chaos is in some sense hypocritical also, despite this rarely being brought up other than when walter ironically point out that by chaos' logic law winning means that they are stronger. Lucifer hypocritically refuses to give in though, even when its obvious he lost.
"end of history" is a common socialist doctrine though.
well, there's DeSu's 'hack the demon world' end if you choose not to banish all demons but use them to further humanity.
then there's Strange Journey's 'let's all go back to warring tribes led by competing gods and preyed upon by wild demons' ends
There's also the Devil Survivor settings, but only a select few actually interact with demons in any meaningful way and generally are attached to some secret society or another.
There's the chaos end of SMTII, and I think the neutral as well. I'm pretty sure the demons aren't genocided or banished in neutral end. Either way, it doesn't have the same rejection of technology and complex society that SJ's chaos end has.
Not to mention Burning Tokyo in SMTIV, although human options are limited to 'become a demi-demon' or 'become a cow to be brain-milked. Akira may change that if he stays in charge long enough, though.
There's actually one on /r/megaten called awake1. I tried to direct him here, but he wouldn't come. He makes hugeass threads about how nocturne is about nietzchean values and breaking free from eternal recurrence by fully self actualizing. Then everyone asks why he's talking about something that isn't p4.
It depends. in the DLC it seems like the demons were down for "working together" until he ran away again. At the end they believe in him even more. If they work together him ebign weak physically may not be as big an issue.
>I'd only want that if there was at least some sex involved, or something.
Sex would be cool too, but as long as I was protected and taken care of, and she appreciated my brain juice I would be happy.
Man I really hope persona 5 comes out and completely alienates all the persona4fags. Like, to the point they just fuck off and disappear. I know atlus would never do that though.
I think there were more things removed than added. Like, if you have two characters targeting the same enemy, and the first kills it, instead of auto-moving to another target in range, the character just loses out on a turn. In a game where you're losing out on turns constantly. You can allocate everyone's skill points, though. I think. No voice acting, either.
Cutscenes and walking around town are absent in Portable, but you will do just fine without them. The Answer epilogue is exclusive for the FES version, but you can always just play that later.
Portable added stuff like directly controlling your party members and a female protagonist.
Welcome to SMT. I hope you have a fun journey.
It was a good review, but it was on the site, not their show.
No, you could buy it though! I'm that guy who prefers P4 PS2 to PSV, also, so yeah. I liked OG Chie and the PSV OP is garbage.
>It's only game discussion, with no ratings.
Persona 3 if you want character development and semi-interesting character relations, Persona 4 if you want more lighthearted interactions at the expense of butchered character arcs.
Am I the only person that reads Beadman's posts and genuinely likes him? He puts a lot of thought in what he writes, and he does it really well.
I don't always agree with him, but he's not an annoying fag like Trip Frost.
I'm playing Devil Survivor and... is there anything I should know? I'm scared that i'm going to fuck up somewhere and be screwed later in the game.
Is there a limit to how many skills I can crack per character?
Do the areas get crazier later in the game?
Should I mix teams up or should I have teams with focuses? i.e. a physical attack team, a magic attack team etc
Assuming you started the second game, you'll know some of the new character already but there is a spoiler related to that. It's minor though and apart from that one thing, it's original and mostly doesn't really tie in to the games.
Never. It has LBA protection, so you cannot add files or replace them with files of bigger size.
P1P not only has fewer tracks, but they are mostly shorter than the original OST, so it's pretty much impossible to replace it.
Oh I see. Would it not be possible to instead of replacing tracks, decompile the game and rewrite the music playing function to load the music files from somewhere else? (I've seen translation projects for games in the past where they've loaded stuff like fonts separately) That would be far more difficult though I imagine and it's not like there's a massive want for it.
>Is there a limit to how many skills I can crack per character?
>Do the areas get crazier later in the game?
Yes, there are some difficulty jumps. Mostly with a couple of bosses though.
>and His angels
Only when the angels are doing things by themselves, going against YHVH's will, otherwise the angels don't really get special privileges.
In SMTIV's law route, the angels in Naraku even talk about how God wants humanity governing the land by themselves and they'll leave after the demons and filthy are eliminated, and the ending seems to confirm that.
Every last demon has an affinity to a certain type of skills, and with the exception of healing and buffing skills, those are the only skills they can inherit. For example, Vishnu is almighty-type, so he can't inherit something like Ziodyne. If the demons being fused into Vishnu have both Megidolaon and Megidola, then he will inherit Megidolaon first, since that is the stronger spell and thus has higher priority.
P1 takes a very SMT-like approach to character development. You have to talk to them and the NPCs after every event to get information on their backstories and thoughts, and even major character development can be easily missed. The exceptions to this are Maki and Nanjo.
I don't really get the hate for bead man. Shouldn't we accept different perspectives and dissenting ideologies? It affords us the opportunity to strengthen our resolve and arguments if an intelligent person is going to come forward and challenge them. Blindly hating beadman is, to me, the antithesis of what I've come to love about /smtg/. Instead of allowing and accepting discourse, we've begun to challenge it blindly. There isn't even any reason to believe the person who said all this
even is beadman. This hysteria is weak, and is only a testament to this community's latent inability to have thoughtful discussion. Instead of name calling and blind attacks, we should be able to dismantle arguments from a fundamental ideological perspective. It's like we're forgetting this is an anonymous image board.
Please, /smtg/, try harder not to suck at conversing. It's getting difficult to deal with.
I know somebody like that in real life, I tried to get him to come here because I know he would love arguing with Beadman but he said he's a "reddit guy" and prefers r/megaten. Not really sure why because he likes MegaTen games that aren't Persona.
>I don't really get the hate
Please. Every single one of his posts contains nothing but barely-related psychological bullshit that nobody cares about, nor cares to read. When he's on topic he fellates law harder than Betatron fellates YHVH and is quite possibly responsible for a lot of recent alignment shitposting.
Beadman is cancer and he should have been gotten rid of long ago.
Well, certain demons have more flexible affinities than others, so maybe that's why you thought it was more lenient. For example, the "temperature" affinity lets a demon inherit all Zio, Bufu, and Agi spells.
This is blatantly incorrect - of the real beadman posts I've seen, he is constantly discussing the underlying philosophical constructs which come to define many of the SMT games. Not only that, but even if they seem contrived or irrelevant points at first glance, his willingness to use references from the games to reinforce his arguments stands in clear contradiction to what you've just said.
You certainly didn't assert a point, you were content to cry insults because he stands for law and goes in depth about topics which are of tertiary relevance, but are relevant and interesting nonetheless. To what end? you're ironically conflating his astute observations and adherence to law to the alignment shitposting issue, when you yourself are taking an active part in it by calling out his preferred ideological stance. No discourse from your end of the court; again, only name calling, and in so doing, accomplishing nothing but smearing a negative veneer of hate over the community.
And this post right here, along with yours, only reinforces the problem I brought up before. We're getting meta about a person that hasn't even truly actively identified themselves for a while. We're functionally acting as "cancer" more than the precious scapegoat that is beadman, because he at least stays on relevant topics pertaining to SMT.
lucifer is the light
the fourth is the woman
not a demon, again
yuriko is yuriko
the roof is on fire, we need 30 sacred water
there is no forward or back, just side to side, up and down
The world is destroyed by Manga just as we always knew it would be. You wake up alone in a hospital as a demon with radioactive tattoos and and evil hermaphrodite is going around putting chips in the heads of random people to turn them into red storm troopers.

enduring soul/life surge or salvation for mem aleph? the alternative to salvation would be mediarahan
Time to ruin your day.
There was one guy here who did a Hacker cosplay, maybe he can give you some tips. There's also a guy on tumblr who did a pretty great Matador cosplay. Honestly, it's probably best just to pick your favorite character and just do it. Someone posted a picture of a black Raidou cosplayer last week and it looked great.
It's Tatsuya's birthday today. Happy birthday, Ta-chan!
I'm taking a little break from SMT after beating Nocturne, SMT4, P4, p3, and SJ in a row.
About to beat Ys 4, but I am hating Xenoblade, why did this game get so much praise?
I'll probably start playing Soul Hackers since I hear it's pretty short.
What're you guys playing right now?
The music is amazing, the characters are alright. It's everything else that makes me not want to play.
I am indifferent towards the world. The open levels don't really do much for me.The quests are okay I guess. The plot was garbage until Prison Island, I'm a few hours after that right now.
My main gripe is the boring as shit combat. I don't mind how Dragon Age did it, but FF12 and Xenoblade really strike me the wrong way with the way they do combat.
>save Japan from being destroyed
threatens to send me to the lowest level of hell
What the fuck is wrong with this guy.
I really enjoyed FF12 and Xenoblades combat. Feels like an offline MMO. I enjoyed the plot the whole way through, and it keeps getting better, at least for me. Some people don't like the whole plot. The open world and how big it is are even better.
The combat is fine, if you don't like a character, there are 7 others to choose from
Battles go on way too long (I thought it was just me, but I see battles on Youtube lasting longer than mine) and there's no Tactics menu like Dragon Age, FF12 (which wasn't too bad, really, I was too young to appreciate it) or even the Tales games.
I might just eat it and play it to see where the plot goes. If not for that Prison Island scene, I would have sold the game already.
He's just a little upset at life, is all
I guess I don't blame him, after learning about the kind of shit he's had to deal with.
Still, I wanted him to praise me for doing a good job.
All I can think when you say that is that it's a good thing he wasn't Nagi's teacher. I'd like to know just what caused him to mellow out so much by the time of >>75031853.
