How the fuck do you make decent money in this game?
You don't, unless you know how to buy low and sell high in the TP.
People make money by mindlessly pushing through the methods you listed like ants, day in and day out, not spending it on shit until a big pile has accumulated.
Even if it hurts your soul to do so, joining "ZERK ONLY" dungeons is efficient. I can do all AC paths in a little over an hour.
Also, TP jewing. Sorry. It's really the only way to get MEGARICH though.
> tfw your norn waifu will never find the perfect spot in the hot springs and stimulate her large, veiny pseudophallus to the point of eruption, cememting her eggs with a thick mucus layer onto the rocks just below the waterline
> tfw your norn waifu will never be so imptessed with your legend that she will lure you over to the water and massage your prostate with her futa cock, causing you to release clouds of sperm onto the egg sac below
> tfw you will never watch enraptured as your thousands of tadpole young hatch, and then immediately begin to cannibalize each other until only one remains
> tfw you will never watch your child undergo metamorphosis as they crawl ashore, gradually losing their gill threads like an axolotl, and seeking the warmth of the excess blood your waifu stores in her massive cowtits.
Really a mood killer, if you ask me. Were I to host a necromantic court, I'd have properly prepared, dormant servants at the door instead of filthy, screeching fleshrats.
One day we'll show the world how it's done.
>>>crafting sucks because the profit you make will never outweigh the cost of materials
What do you expect from a game that allows sharing of nodes on an client-side basis and drops claws, venom sacs, fangs, etc like candy to the point that even casuals would have stacks of them?
Exotics are also still too easy to acquire since ArenaNet didn't fix their acquisition. In fact they made it easier by putting badges of honor into achievement reward chests, nerfed the amount of dungeon tokens used to purchase exotic armor from the dungeon vendors back at launch and never reverted that nerf, and exotic crafting only requires 5 T6 materials per piece. There's no point to dressing your character up in the armor that is crafted on your way up to level 400 and the skins only need to be acquired once before they are added to the wardrobe, no reason to craft them once that happens.
Why? Because this game isn't as strict as other MMORPGs' leveling curves. Even without EotM farming, leveling up is easy so why should you waste gold on buying level 55 rares? Most dungeon parties won't accept characters under level 80 unless you're the only non-80 in there and that's if the level 80's aren't ZERKER ONLY PING GEAR ON JOIN 10,000 AP OR KICK!
Crafting is only beneficial, not profitable. It's still the only way to acquire celestial gear and ascended weapons without RNG being involved through weapon/armor boxes and world boss events like Triple Trouble and Tequatl the Sunless.
There's also the Mystic Forge. It certainly didn't help this game's crafting system to have so many exotic weapon recipes in the Mystic Forge instead of in the crafting disciplines with a crafting level requirement to acquire them. Maybe crafting would have been profitable if instead of adding stand alone weapons into the Mystic Forge they added them as recipe drops from dungeons, WvW, sPvP, etc and required level 400 to craft them.
What I want to know is why they have a bone minion on the bed with them.
The thing is made of exposed flesh for fucks sake, it's probably getting serosanguineous stains all over the place
and they'll no doubt already have plenty of other fluids they'll need to clean up as it is.
Vigil for taking down big things and getting shit done
Whispers for tomfoolery and blowing up structures
Priory for um
books and stuff
Seiran's the worst companion of the three.
Order of Whispers has you
Tracking, rescuing, and escorting an informant (Regarding the political situation in Kryta) to their base of operations, the informant later becomes a member of the Order. There's disguise, a drinking competition, stealth missions and a lovable mentor Charr with an obsession with apples
Priory has you
Seeking a stolen artifact, a sword made out of crystallized dragon blood that controls the dead, and you have to retrieve it and safely contain it so that its power doesn't attract the undead, your mentor is a somewhat annoying bubbly Sylvari chick
Vigil has you
Trying to maintain the Human-Charr truce, dispatching a group of Renegade Charr. Your mentor is a stern Norn warrior who's only real shining moment is his epic sacrifice.
Vigil kind of has a boring storyline but your mentor's
sacrificeis the one of the 3 that actually makes the most sense (Tybalt from the order of whisper's kind of makes sense.. Seiran's sacrificejust seems so forced)
>hating on the race with the best animations and voiceovers
It chops off their ears.
I'm really bothered by the trend that 90% of the skins released after launch chop off ears since they're supposed to be an asura's defining feature. If they're small enough you can reason away that they're just tucked in under there, but otherwise...
> when someone in RP wears the gasmask (or similar ear-clipping helm) and then takes it off to reveal max size ears
Triggers my autism big time.
Meanwhile the ones that do show the ears clip with at least half the ear types in the game. The award of course goes to the T3 heavy asuran cultural set, where your character's ears are almost guaranteed to clip through the helm unless you make them as tiny as possible.
Four fucking dollars for a cupcake to be sent to the pieces of shit who are ruining this game?
Fuck those retards, they can buy all the cupcakes they want with the money they jewed out on fucking katanas and a 10 day birthday sale instead of actual fucking content.

>getting back into the game
>decide to do level 10 fractals since i heard anything under is too much of a joke

any way to get ascended gear besides laurels? im using just some berserker's exotics right now
>get my 2nd birthday gift
>the gun is actually pretty cool, and the skill scroll is more useful to me than the experience scroll will ever be
Actually, speaking of the experience scroll... WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS ONE NOT STACK WITH THE 10 OTHER SCROLLS I ALREADY HAVE
Learn when they do Agony attacks and dodge them. The only application of Agony you can't avoid with skill is on the boss levels and those times always offer the ability to res, which you can avoid even needing by properly timing your healing skill.
You can get Ascended Trinkets for Guild Commendation + Gold, you can also get them as random drops from WvW Rank Up Chests. You can get Ascended items for fewer Laurels if you buy them in WvW, but you also need Badges of Honor.
>crafting sucks because the profit you make will never outweigh the cost of materials
Actually, I make most of my gold specifically by crafting. I buy up a tons of salvage mats on TP for a low enough bid, then refine them and sell. Can make about 30-80s per stack of Valuable Metal Scraps.
Also, you can get your daily couple of gold by selling the time-gated crafting items, such as the Ascended mats, or that new Maudrey backpiece ingredients.
>dungeons take too long for a meager 1 gold per path
Join a decent guild, run a Dungeon Speed Tour. AC123 can be done in under 30 mins, and including Exotic PVT token-salvage items and loot, profits you about 7.6g+ in those 30 minutes. Pretty good ratio, if you askk me.
Other dungeon paths could also be done in 10-20 mins. See CoF, SE, etc....
Arah p1 and Arah p2 are perhaps the best time to gold ratio for dungeons in the entire game, and the fact you can trade tokens for salvage-rares makes it even better. 15mins for 3.25g, sounds good to me! 30 mins for 6.50g is even better!
Of course, don't forget CoE, with its chance to drop Charged Cores and Lodestones, AND the ability to salvage token-rares, making it one of the most profitable dungeons in the game.
I know people who make 50g/day from running short-dungeons alone, and it only takes about 2 and a half hours with a competent team.
And no, they do not FGS-exploit. They use Frost Bow.
>world bosses don't give a whole lot
Tequatl gives nice loot, and the same with Wurm. As far as I'm aware, those are also the only 2 world bosses worth commenting. Although if you really want to get into specifics, the events which follow capturing some of the God temples, tend to be the reward in and themselves. See: Temple of Melandru, Temple of Grenth, etc...
>blix got nerfed
And yet, people are still farming Blix.
However, Breaking the Ice is also a great source of champions if a zerg is commanded effectively.
I wish I had the patience to play the market.
I say we do our own project where they're sent two dozen cupcakes; two batches of twelve.
One batch will be of outwardly plain chocolate cupcakes, bereft of icing or other features save for having the GW1 logo baked into the tops. However, upon tasting them they will soon find that they are made of moist, flavourful chocolate sponge cake using fresh spices, only to be delightfully further surprised by a firm, creamy core of chocolate ganache flavoured with ginger. The second batch will feature beautifully-sculpted icing of glistening fondant featuring the GW2 logo, topped with multicoloured granules of pearl sugar. Upon biting in, they will discover a centre of
absolutely nothing because fondant can easily be sculpted to accommodate a cupcake-sized air pocket.
Of course the bottom of the box will need a slip of card stock with three paragraphs explaining the meaning of this gift because nobody on that development team will get fucking it.
I'm gay so it doesn't really matter that much to me. While I'm definitely not a fan of those horse-cocked norn futa, so long as it's something that looks male fucking something else that looks male, I'm fine.

A frayed wick stuck out from a well-worn candle, and with a gentle drop of a lit match to its fibrous end, it flickered and glowed to life.
Tristian's face was illuminated by the small yet stalwart flame. He was strongly defined man who bore a weary smile, with stubble to dot his jaw and neatly kempt hair to frame his large brown eyes. His nostrils flared as he stared into the flame absentmindedly, but with a quick blink and a subtle sly scrape of his teeth over his lip, he rose and shook out the matchflame.
He removed his leather hat and slung it onto a coatrack, expertly landing it on a hook. He was rolling his shoulders - trying to shrug off the bandolier around his torso - when he heard light "tok"s on the door behind him. He turned with an even wider smile and approached it, hanging his bandolier on the coatrack as he had intended. Facing the door, he quickly pawed his face and straightened a cuff in frivilous attempts to tidy himself for his company.
Eager Tristian reached for the knob and turned it, pulling it towards him. His night began with the mechanical drumming of tumblers, and a squeak of the hinge.
What awaited on the other side, looking up at him with bright violet eyes and a demure curl at the end of her beaked lips, was Sajjica.
>first fractals since spring
Animation glitch left me all sparkly. The same sort of sparkles you see on loot to pick up. I'm not even sure how an animation glitch like that would even happen in the first place, as that animation is simply never rendered on player characters. Maybe it was some other animation that just looks like that?
Her thick body rose up a little beyond his knees. Without a word, she hugged them.
Tristian let out a light, weak laugh and pretended to stumble. She only hugged tighter as to not let him fall.
He gave her a few gentle movements and patted her head, and she took it as a sign to loosen her grip. Tristian knelt in front of her and searched her eyepools which danced with candlelight, unable to contain the glee she enkindled in his heart. Swiftly, like a mother eagle shading her young with her wings, he enveloped her in a tight embrace.
They held it. They giggled, collectively embarrassed, though their faint blushing blended well with the incandescence of the candles.
"I've missed you," Tristain said. His voice flowed out of him like the ebbing tide, and no less deep and powerful. Sajjica nodded upwards, brushing cheek to cheek to seek a temporary home on his shoulder. "And you. Always," she uttered from behind him, her small voice cracking in its softness.
With a warm sigh, Tristain let go. He locked eyes with her for a little longer before giving her a squeeze around the girth of her waist. Sajjica wriggled and smiled at him, ears curling in, but provided no resistance. "Come on," Tristain muttered in a friendly command. He held his squeeze around her and lifted her from the floor as he rose. Her pudgy legs kicked about and she held in a squee, and she gripped his strong arms tightly as he carried her to the bed.
He set her down gently on the foot of it first, and then crawled beside her to turn and slide up to the backboard. He bowed out his arm, and that was all the invitation Sajjica needed to scramble up and wedge herself under it. He curled his arm around her, resting on her chubby belly, and she hooked her arms around his to hold it close to her.
I've had that same glitch following looting several times now. Not quite sure what causes it, so I can't really replicate it consistently.
Pretty sure it's client-side only, like the bird from swoop getting stuck on GS rangers or eles having hands constantly on fire/spewing flames from their mouth continuously.
Tristain bathed in the rapturous radiance of the candles, and the heat of the Asura snuggled up beside him. He let his eyes drift close, and drained his lungs with a gradual sigh. All was well and warm and tranquil, his heart's reason to beat right beside him, dozing peacefu-
He felt a tap.
Tap tap, on his arm.
His brow twitched, and his eyes cracked open from his seven second hibernation. Glancing over, Tristain found Sajjica staring up at him with those same violet eyes. They swam with infatuation, but something else. A pang of worry.
She nodded. Her hair was smooth against his arm.
Tristain sucked in a quick breath to prepare, and nodded once in return.
He let her go and slowly pushed himself up farther against the backboard. Sajjica squirmed from her cozy nest and stood. Tristain watched as the candlelight wrapped around her, illuminating her voluptuously plump and blubbery curves. She began to undress, timidly undoing knots and ties and holding each article out beside the bed before dropping them. Soon, she was entirely disrobed, even down to the ribbons she kept in her hair which now flowed down her back and stopped above the curve of her soft rump, and was split on the sides by her short, supple ears.
She turned her head to look back at him. Her kappafaced lips had lost their smile, but they remained so confidently neutral. In this moment, she was a baroque painting come to heart-fluttering life.
He stared back at her, with equal assurance of the coming deed. As he held out his hands and laced his fingers above his lap, she turned away and maneuvered her heavy self over him. Finally straddled over his waist, squeezing his hips with her trunk-like legs, she squatted and gently settled her rump in his palms.
Her thighs began to quake.
Then, the rest of her. She was shivering, though not due to the cold.
Her claws balled up into fists and shook. She lowered her head and squeezed his hips with her legs and little moans squeaked out of her, her own strenuous efforts eeking out quick gasps and embarrassed grunts.
Amidst Sajjica's trembling, Tristian felt the smooth peak of an object poke out from her buns. As more of it was revealed, he felt it being laid into his cupped hands. An obloid ovoid, slick with birthing slime and intensely warm to the touch, was slowly being squeezed out. Sajjica continued to grunt and quake and squirm and finally -
The egg was freshly laid.
Sajjica panted. Panted and shook, staring out with wild eyes. In the stunned silence, Tristian slid his palms out from under her rump. The object shone in the candlelight. Glistened. It was a perfect egg, slathered his lover's juices.
He smiled. He grinned. He cherished it.
"Look," he said, with hastened cadence.
He bumped her shoulder with his cupped hands.
"Look!" he repeated with an elated chuckle. He quickly coughed and muted his boisterousness, swallowing and smiling. Sajjica looked over her shoulder, her long silky hair cascading to the side. Upon setting her eyes on the egg, she giggled breathlessly.
"You've done it."
Tristian simply beamed at her. Sajjica huffed in bewildered delight again and tenderly probed at his hands with hers. Her eyes flicked up to his as he rolled the wet egg into her hands. The bond between there gaze was magical enough to wake another dragon.
Holding the egg, Sajjica scooted up his body until she rested atop his chest. Tristian nestled his chin beside her head and snaked his arms around her stomach, embracing her entirely. He chuckled warmly, his soft, welcoming grin spanning ear to ear. A kiss from his lips was planted on Sajjica's flushed cheeks, then another on the apex of her ear.
"What shall we do with it?" she said timidly, holding it before her reverently.
"We're going to put it on the shelf, with all the others," Tristian murmured in her ear, kissing it again on the soft inner flesh. Her ears wiggled, and she giggled, wincing away from the tickling sensation of his stubble.
"I'm so proud of you."
Once after I tried to fall into the thaumanova center from Steam Ogre's platform I hit the invisible wall and died. My body had this loot-sparkle aswell.
All of the animation glitches like that I know about are client side.
Here's an old screenshot of another animation glitch. Guard's downed1 skill. The beam will even shoot across the entire map connecting the Guard's right hand and the target's hitbox.
Always zerk in PvE. Never condi in dungeons.
Zerk not only does the damage faster, it does more period. Conditions cap at 25 applications (or max duration for burning and poison) so even in idle situations you're only ever going to do that much damage. Probably while a zerk warrior does twice the damage in half the time.
Save condi gear for WvW roaming and the like.
I, too, have been sparkly. I believe it came from looting.
Ye olde animation locking wasn't (pic related), but that's been kill for a long while now. Aside from guardian GS which I'm not sure how to lock but have seen people do it.
And I've had similar happen like that guard1 skill happen in PvP. Had a scepter ele's auto glitch out like that and stay locked on me even after they swapped elements and the like. Made it hard to know when they were actually back in air (without looking) but made them easy to track at least.
Nah, those are the only ones that more or less don't sound lumped in with all of the other ambient tracks he composed specifically for GW2.
I still have suspicions that "A Land Restored" was originally meant for Orr though.
For me it wore off after the first downed. Which is different from that Guard animation glitch example, because that one lasts for the entirety of the instance.
While we're talking animation glitches, might as well post another one. I'm sure everyone's seen this one a few times. When you change to/from a ghost in AC P3 your last animation you were doing (before you change forms) continues that animation (jumping/running/sleeping/sitting). Now that I think about it, I wonder if you can get your afterimage to /dance, or even use the How To Dance P2W dances...
Running a zerker necro, what should my weapons be? Since im pretty new at being 80.
I dont really trust year old guides.
is 2 daggers viable? i was thinking maybe an axe and dagger or something
Depends on what you play obviously. Dagger has best DPS for PvE, axe is good too so a combination of dagger mh, axe, warhorn and maybe focus is probably solid. Having a backup staff in case you need 1200 range for something isn't a bad idea either
For wubwub you want staff, axe+wh. For sPvP almost anything goes
Ok so I haven't touched the game in a long long time. I logged in and this is what I see. Why are there so many people here? Also I'm equipped in all orange gear, is that decent? I'm mainly coming back to play some WvWvW every once in awhile.
>Do TA story with 2 others just cuz
>Foalain comes down at the end to chat
>FGS her to death before she vanishes
>She dies and drops a champ bag
Orange gear is one tier below pink gear, but pink gear costs your soul to craft for a 1% stat bonus over orange.
That said, depends on the stats on that orange gear. And what runes and sigils you put in that gear.
You should be fine stat wise, now just make sure you know what you're doing,
Ahh right. Similar thing with how you used to be able to lock some of the How to Dance dances. Run around pumping your arms, or doing two different dances at the same time. But you know Anet's stance on fun.
Yeah the ghosts are boring. Even outside of their animation glitches, they can't even /dance.
Thanks anon! I hadn't entirely stopped, just massively scaled back my posting in general, also most of my recent pics posted were gw1 pics. 2sneaky4u
It's fine. The key thing is that you're smart enough to realize you should put points into condi damage whilst using a shortbow.
People will tell you to go full power/precision/fero and use a GS later on, but, man, do what you want.
You're fine for levelling, but my advice is to learn to use a GS and traps if you see yourself doing anything with a group in the future.
That being said, don't bearbow. Red moa and jungle stalker both have decent buffs if you need a go-to for pets.
Alrighty thanks one last question, are any of these currencies useful to me right now?
Um. All forms of currency have some use, anon.
Unfortunately you don't really have enough dungeon tokens to buy anything other than a hat, boots, or gloves from the Citadel of Flame vendor for those carvings, the CoF vendor has items with Berserker stats, which you'll want. So there's that. One free item for you!
Also, remember to log in to all of your characters so their money/tokens/karma gets uploaded into your account wallet.
Exchange those gems for a spot of gold, that should be enough to get you the right gear buying it from the TP. Not counting any fancy runes or sigils.
I have 2m karma
I don't want a legendary
spend on jewelry boxes, y/n?
I recommend auto mouse clicker. I chomped through 800k once and it would have been a pain without it
I figured you were around because you replied to the gw2 forum thread some anon posted earlier
What >>78090713 said. Most of your stats actually come from your trinkets, so your end goal is ascended trinkets + exotic armor/weaps.
People who get ascended armor and weaps are just hardcore min/max folk who are willing to put in the grind for a negligible increase.
>you get almost double your damage
then think of one yourself
If you've tried everything and nothing hooks you, then go play another game and try again later.
eotm roaming, climbing the fractals, dungeon speedrunning, cheevos... Have you explored a lot? Seen every nook and cranny of dry top?
I've done all my exploring leveling and I had tons of fun doing but leveling another class seems like a chore right now. I think it is time to give up on GW2 right now, it just seems so lacking in things I actually want to do.
It's okay buddy, it'll always be here for you. Maybe some of us, too.
where do you think we are?
I got into the last beta weekend and my god the game is awful. Looks and preforms worse than GW2 while trying to be like it in terms of combat. Then I saw the F2P thing they did with how many of a certain resource you get a day and got the fuck out of that game in an hour. Really not worth playing. Maybe it'll get better in the future with more updates but the P2W aspect is going to kill it before that happens.
>spend time trying to make an Asura Samurai
>look fine in gameplay and stills
>look chinky as shit in cutscenes because of eye squint
The lore of Archage is so painfully fucking boring and the race lineup is just ugh (humans #1, humans #2, elves, furbait).
I fucking hate GW2 but every time I look at other games I feel spoiled by comparison.
>What do I need to do to get in to PvP?
Nothing. Make a character. You're automatically upscaled to 80 in PvP and can select all your skills, equipment, traits etc through menus.
> Are there smaller battlegrounds or is WvW the only stuff worth doing?
I don't really understand this question. The WvW maps have people actually doing WvW. Edge of the Mists is a roaming map but people just zerg around in a circle all day long over there to farm karma, experience and bags.
> How good are Elementalists right now?
Easymode and best class for PvE (going to be nerfed in the September patch almost for sure), harder in PvP.
kind of chinky but not THAT chinky.
I think it's because in Asura cutscenes you're supposed to be kind of a smug asshole most the time.
why would you say something so mean T_T
>tfw you like the simplistic look of some of the more common armorsets, also like using natural/cheap dyes
>tfw someone in wvw says he thought you were a scrub because you were running around in brown emblazoned gear
So now that HOPE isnt fun posting here anymore and riling up you autists, this general is now furfags and ratfuckers?
Revamp to PvP?
Fucking anything other than gemstore updates?
I have 3k gold on my acc, 5-6 precursors that arent soulbound and 2 legendaries. Should I finally sell my account to a friend and give up caring about this game?
finishing up map completion when this glitch shows up. who does she think she is?
in wvw, it's like playing adc in lol if you've ever done that
Usually just one or two escapes, high sustained ranged damage, have to manage positioning carefully in skirmishes or just instantly explode to a faggot thief
talking about glass LB of course
It doesn't. You're just finding the only thing that you're looking for.
It doesn't, both of those things are endemic to the internet as a whole by default.
What you're seeing here and now is most of the people who actually played the game have moved on to greener pastures and ERP sluts are all that's left.
> implying tumblrites have skin thick enough to go on 4chan
Come guys, let's chip in because the individual developer can't do anything about the EEEEEEEEBUL higher ups! Brought to you by ANet's unaffiliated PR person Dulfy!
> anet does fuck all for the anniversary, using an already existing gun model and an already existing cake model and slapping them together to make a cake gun
> hey guys lets bring them some more cupcakes to show our appreciation O:) i swear they didn't put me up to this
> all these ears
> tfw I want then all
Does gw2g have a guild? There's nothing in the op so imagine it's dead but... I want my ears to be alongside like-eared adventurers
Also if I could do fractals when my krewe is asleep that would be cool.
I suspect so and I'm tempted to sign up just to back them up but eh effort.
Also the guy responding to him is a twat and it probably won't do any good anyway. But I'm really bothered by people who continue to defend and adore anet. It's one thing to admit that the devs don't have 100% control and can't answer to every players whim, but there's no excuse for how poorly they're performing. As I said, a cake gun for an anniversary gift. With already existing models. The "we don't give a shit anymore" is plain.
>17.66 GOLD FOR 100 FUCKING GEMS
With them cracking down on farming, is buying gems the only way to get gold now?
Is this the Jewnet Vision™ they were talking about?
>a year ago anons were talking about gems hitting 5g
>a few months ago anons were talking about gems hitting 10g
>now gems are about to hit 20g
Are we finally ready to listen? What happens when 50g = 100g? What happens when a character slot is 400g?
The problem is that the gem price is growing by the minute, and jewnet drones eat that shit up and ask for more, and nobody is speaking out against this shit.
>nobody is speaking out against this shit
Where exactly do you suggest we do that?
censored and anet doesn't give a shit
circlejerk-censored and anet doesn't give a shit
yeah this seems helpful
Am I the only one that misses The Meta Achievements?
I just am really unhappy that instead of doing a few achievements to get the skin like it used to be I have to grind to get materials to make food once a day to combine in the forge with a pot I also have to make and repeat process at least 10 times.
Or do the same 8 events to get geodes to get keys to unlock lockboxes and hope I get a fossil for one weapon.
Fuck at this rate I rather have temporary content, I feel like this is all busy work to hide the fact there's not much here
>"Thief isnt OP :)" - Gw2g
>Shadow Art stalling fucks infest the servers
>p/d cancer at its highest ever
>go in as power lich
Fuck any thief being a faggot with stealth regen, I understand the game isnt built around one ve one, hell even 5v5, but fuck. Just seeing tryhard cocksuckers playing p/d SA pisses me off, wonder if I could go in with my Cele Turret Engie and laugh for eternity or not.
btw if you play a Bunker in 1v1 servers fights with the thevies will go on 15min+, Its almost funny how you can smell the sweat and Doritos.
My sword/dagger and dagger/pistol thieves love powernecros trying to be edgy. Make them waste all their shit on my billion evades, and then get full HP when I go in stealth and they are out of AoEs. Mnohmnohm. Delicious necro tears.
$10 is basically 100g anon.
Remember when that much was a lot of money? It's around 80 dungeon runs to get that much, or ten measly dollars. Think about it anon~
Power lich can't do shit against thieves if thief has steal off cd. Also blind spam. Also waiting in stealth for lich to be over
It's not even funny how one sided that matchup is. Sure you can 2-shot the thief but has to be a pretty fucking shit thief for that to happen, more shit than what the class lets happen even if you leave keyboard
Didn't you read the official forums? Thieves are a really difficult class to play and people who stick to it are real soldiers, who stand against all the odds and keep being on top. I would find the actual quotes where people claimed that but I am too lazy for this shit.
When the fuck did Thief become so easy? I've been gone for months but last I remember everyone shitted on them for being balls in PvE and mediocre in PvP. Also everyone hated them because 'edgy' 12 year old class or something.
Stealth in GW2 is retardedly strong, some classes have super easy access to it, and it has no drawbacks/hardcounters. So thieves, who can evade, blind and stealthspam, are having a blast against pretty much any power build out there. Kind of like condi necros shit on condi builds.
how would YOU fix stealth
maybe if you try to stealth during combat, you're still untargetable, but enemies can see a transparent version of your model if they look close enough
or just simply break the effect on damage
that's silly anon. Engineer's will have buffed Utility goggles come next patch and that's *fine*,
even though it's kind of stupid that it's a targeted skill to be used on a class that revolves around making itself untargetable as often as possible
Increase the revealed debuff to 5 seconds
Increase stealth counter-play on other classes
Force reveal on any skill use at the beginning of the cast
Decrease movement speed in stealth by ~10%
There. Stealth fixed. No more permashit stealth cheese
More classes can counter it
No more fucking bullshit casting and backstab shit without warning. Also reveal on new stealth
Cunts can't disengage as easily
>Hitting a foe in stealth reveals them, does not apply to condis because that would be unfair.
>If a from stealth attack is blocked, or evaded, reveals the foe.
>A bit more counter play alla Sic'em/Utility Goggles, depends on how those two do on the 9th.
But mostyly the first too, its BS I can waste every CD to block X attack, only to have it not reveal. And with PU getting buffed.. fuck.. more worried about that then I ever will for Thief.
>Getting hard CC'd while in stealth reveals you and applies revealed debuff (immobilize shows the chains)
>You unstealth the moment your attack animation starts, not when it lands (and all the implications this has)
>There's no way to bypass revealed debuff by stacking more stealths, once your initial stealth duration expires you are revealed
Should be enough, most other things are just additional retardation like clones spamming condis as mesmer or thief spamming blinds and evades that are remedied by other means
I like the idea of being revealed as soon as the animation begins. This is how it is in 90% of games. They don't let you attack from stealth for massive damage without any fucking warning.
You know, the retarded way stealth works in gw2 makes me wonder. If a thief timed a backstab absolutely perfectly so that the animation started up, and his stealth ended before the attack landed, would it reveal him?
I was thinking of picking this game back up because I actually liked it last time i played it.
This general however gives me the impression that the game is full off "femsura qt", furries and ERP in general.
Is this really the case?
I just wanna lvl a bit and run dungs with my necromancer...
The general doesn't lie, this game is full of autists ranging from SJW autists WHO LURRVVEEEEE DA LEZBIANZ, to ERP faggots with their futanorns.
There's a very small minority of regular people but they've moved on to other games or barely talk in game anyways (unless to their RL friends in guildchat).
So yeah, it's really the case.
>run dungs with necro
Well, enjoy feeling useless because the two main condi stacks (vuln & bleed) are already being done by other classes more efficiently.
And I bet her army of followers will fund this since her name is on it. Who knows, maybe they will send even more cupcakes than the last time and what a great message will it be for all those at the studio who don't come in contact with the community all that often (who, based on the story of Josh Foreman, could easily be a vast majority in there).
>Illusionary Leap – We changed the way the clone is summoned. It is now summoned now at your target’s location instead of your position. This means you will have a much faster response time between Illusionary Leaps and Illusionary Swaps.
this actually seems kind of nice! But this probably won't change how easy it is to whiff, right?
>>There's no way to bypass revealed debuff by stacking more stealths, once your initial stealth duration expires you are revealed
Good job Anon, you just removed Stealth from PvE, making it even more one dimensional. You should work for Anet.
>This is how it is in 90% of games
Those 90% of games generally have indefinite stealth durations, not like 3s of stealth. GW2 stealth and 90% of games' stealth are apples to oranges.
Also, I still don't see why people cry about stealth and Thieves, has stealth an SA been buffed in the last year or so? GW2G always used to laugh at how shitty Thieves were, and how anyone that's played this game a bit knows where the Thief is during a fight. Is this just a case of the general skill level of GW2G being a whole fucking lot lower nowadays?
Some dev apparently kicked a player he didn't want on his screenshot.
Anet is changing it because they aren't willing to devote the effort into fixing it. If they can't make a clone leap, they aren't going to make the character leap.
This is exactly like Mirrorblade (GS2) being unblockable. It seems pretty random that Mirrorblade is a skill that is unblockable, but there is actually a mechanical reason for it. When blocked, Mirrorblade would spawn a clone of the target enemy under his control. Rather than devoting the time required to fix this programming bug, they just took the easy way out and just made it unblockable. Mesmer is a buggy mess.
I can't wait to see how they "fixed" iWarden again this time. A year ago that skill worked perfectly, the iWarden was stationary, but you know exactly where and when he was going to attack... then they "fixed" it so that it would try to stay in melee with it's target (can no longer depend on it attacking/blocking with regular timing), and then half the time the iWarden doesn't even attack at all and just stands there like a dumbfuck.
>It says I put “The Devs name is Kitten y” but the Dev’s name was kitten y …Without the spaces inbetween the letters lol
Anet and their fucking forum filter. why's derp even filtered in the first place?
Maybe because of ERP or maybe because it can be used to call someone stupid/slow. We will probably never know and I doubt they know either, seeing how they don't have a direct access to the filter list.
Because somewhere along the line someone decided that "Derp" was offensive/a slur for disabled people. I could probably cite the exact incident that led to this widespread idea and give a piece of internet history but I don't know if anyone here is that interested.
But yeah, derp/derpy is supposedly insensitive to the disabled and anet agreed/was cautious enough to add it to their word filter.
I wouldn't put it past them that if it was a non-dev using the name, they'd have a forced name change.
I am actually furious that people like this exist. This is going far and above the normal levels of corporate bootlicking. Not even joking, this sort of mindset is extremely dangerous to the Western World and the freedom/liberty that we have. I'm not even a burgermaester, before you call me an American for using those words.
>hey Jonny people are mad that we said that we will basically add nothing big to the game forever, can we release something to calm the masses and pretend that we are working for something fun for them
>but Colin, we aren't working on anything like that
>just think of something, we need it
>well, there are all those pieces of scrapped content from back when we thought we will still be doing expansions and new continents to explore, we could just post that
>great idea, just be sure to leak it unofficially so that no one can whine when they realise we will never release any of that
>17.66 gold per 100 gems
This is bad. I see drones defending this shit all the time on the official forums and even here. These people do not realize that certain items are only justified BECAUSE they can be bought with gold. The 10 days of anniversary sales are not even half way done and we're closing in on 20g per 100 gems. Are you people fucking kidding me man?
Certain items in the gemstore are only there because ArenaNet hasn't added a time requirement for unwanted characters to be deleted (to combat hackers deleting characters on hacked accounts) and indirectly halt Black Lion Key farming. The keyfarm is alive, so getting items such as boosters that raise offensive and defensive stats for 5% and speed boosters is "okay" because keys can be farmed and the gold to gem exchange price is "fair." Once gems reach 60 motherfucking gold per 100 gems do you really think that's "fair?" Yeah they didn't have to add such an exchange to the game, but if that's the deal then there shouldn't be:
- Utility like bank access expresses and other such convenience
- All boosters since: A) There is no in-game acquirable consumable that gives those benefits and B) Boosters offer combat advantages.
- All unbreakable, endless harvesting tools (Pickaxes, sickles, woodcutting axes)
- Black Lion Salvage Kit since no other salvage kit in-game offers those same returns
- Copper Salvage-o-matic
- Metabollic and Utility Primers
- Upgrade Extractor
- Revive Orbs
- Mystic Forge stones since those can be used on level 80 rares and exotics in place of a 4th addition for a potential precursor
Who is going to spend 90 gold on a revive orb or 600 gold on a permanent harvesting sickle? There's going to be a point when this shit will be ridiculous and they're going to keep stuff that isn't cosmetic like the items I listed above for a shady excuse like OH DON'T BE ENTITLED SPEND 600 GOLD OR 12 BUCKS YOUR CHOICE :^) and just keep dumping in shit like booster primers and auto-revive orbs
They're wrong on principle, too.
It's not justice because an ordinary player wouldn't be able to boot someone for obstructing their screenshot. You know what we fucking have to do if someone's doing that?
Fucking wait or deal with it (or back in the day, switch servers). Why a dev should be able to abuse their powers to route around this is beyond me.
Notice how I listed non-cosmetic items.
Try again and dump that excuse in the trash.
The reason why the gem prices keep going up is that they keep releasing weekly jewshop crap that dumbasses eat up. For some reason they spent multiple years of developing the game, only to decide after launch that they are just going to ignore the actual game and use it to sell particle effects to plebs.
im just browsing, dont really play the game anymore but why do you fucks complain about anet and their shills all the fucking time while posting in a thread about a game developed and run by anet
like are you people fucking insane
do you suffer stockholm syndrome or something
Not them, but most of the items you listed can be debated with ease.
The "convenience" items in this game are ridiculous. Toggling a bank express and warping to a main town to access a bank is a difference of like 1 silver for teleportation and 30 seconds. I can -assure- you that nobody actually buys these.
The advantage offered by the boosters is absolutely minimal and they drop like candy from keyfarming anyway.
Unbreakable tools are just convenience again, the difference between taking the minuscule bit of time to go to a merchant and buy an ori tool and not. Somebody here crunched the numbers long ago and discovered that 99% of people playing the game wouldn't ever make their money back on infinite harvesting tools (basically, that it was way, way, way more cost effective to buy oris from merchants).
Revive orbs have the huge condition of being massively time consuming and if you're in any situation of strife, you get one-hit because there's that "revival sickness" period.
The one that I have a lot of trouble with is the black lion salvage kit because it's absolutely true that none of the other kits in the game work as well.
TL;DR: For as horrible as the game and anet is in many respects the cash shop implementation is mostly right.
Which is sad because it's not even a NEW screen. It's a screen from beta that even reddit shills have pointed out.
>anet so lazy with marketing they can't create a simple image for WP to tweet
>how 2 get start from 0 experience playing pvp wid engi
First of all,
EU or NA?
Don't feel overwhelmed when you see shitlords glorify the class as the hardest shit ever to play because it certainly isn't. I have a 70% winrate on roughly 160 engineer matches in Team Arena and I can tell you playing one isn't as difficult as people (namely engi mainers) like to think it is.
There are two "core" engi builds, one relying on turrets and the others on kits. At the moment turret engineer is incredibly strong even in the hands of inexperienced players because they are AI controlled and will do damage with 0 player input.
Kit builds are a bit more versatile since there are a lot of viable 2 and 3 kit builds. Kit builds are usually condition based where turret builds are more about raw power and staying alive while letting your turrets do the job.
Leddit link instantly downvoted to invisibility. The shills are hard at work.
It still amazes me how PoE manages to have almost none of these convenience things aside from bank slots and shit, mostly being cosmetics, and still manage to run and develop their game entirely for free. And they didn't have a previous fanbase to work off of like ANet did.
Less stockholm syndrome and more hopelessness, I think.
Most of us admit that the core game is good and we got our money's worth, and that's kind of what makes it so bad.
The initial experience was good so everyone had high expectations and those expectations haven't been met whatsoever. The game is basically what it was at launch except with some QoL tweaks, two new zones and a few other bits.
It probably won't get better but we can hope.
I see it this way
I paid $50(60? i dont remember) for a fun MMO experience without a sub that I know I could go back to at any time without worrying if my account is active. I played the shit out of the game for the first few months and I definitely got my money's worth after the 200-300 hours I spent on my one character.
I really don't give a shit what Anet does anymore because I can't be bothered to go back because I don't have a desire to. I guarantee you if the game had subs than we would get more content since people would actually be playing the game because "Oh man I don't want to waste away this month's sub fee doing nothing with it"
It's the same reasons people bitch about WoW: There's literally nothing better on the market for the feature set we're looking for, otherwise the only people left would be the hardcore shills.
That'd be the ideal scenario, I think, but...
I don't think >>78120691 is being cynical, I think this is absolutely true.
Implementing something like an infinite harvesting tool or a booster or what-have-you is absolutely minimal effort for arenanet. Like, probably a handful hours worth of work. And they know that mindless morons will buy their shit even when they're cautious enough not to make the convenience items actually give a measurable advantage, just the most minor of convenience.
Why spend the time/resources to do something as extensive as creating new armor sets (remembering they have five races, two genders and three armor weights) when you can do the above?
If this game adopted a sub but we were 100% guaranteed to be getting frequent quality content I would make the tradeoff, but I'm aware that like half my friends couldn't maintain the sub and would drop it.
I would too, because right now it's not worth subbing. Once I got to 80 and got my exotics there was literally no point in playing since I had no interest in PvP outside of WvWvW which got boring after awhile.
I seriously wonder what most of the people behind the studio are up to. We keep seeing a handful of people responsible for the Living World, but some of the more prominent faces in A-net have vanished from the public eye, including the real writers. Colin did say that they are working on a project they can not speak about yet, so I wonder if it is something big GW2 related, or a brand new game. I sincerely doubt A-net can manage two titles at once if the latter is the case.
Doubt it, I visited some WoW (mostly WoD "hype") threads recently and apparently they didn't get ("free") shit for A YEAR, many features announced for the expansion were pushed back after its release date and some were scrapped entirely and the xpac is both smaller and $10 more expensive than the previous ones.
Oh and the game also has a cash shop for quite some time now, you can't trade in gold to buy stuff in it and they are putting more and more shit in there.
But WoW has also been going for 10 years and people are heavily invested in their arena teams and raiding guilds.
GW2 doesn't really have any meaningful progression compared to WoW so there's none of that really aside from the PvP I guess but the player base is too small and not everyone does PvP.
Guys, it's been more than a year since I last played, is this game worth coming back to? I'm considering patching up my game, out of curiosity. I mostly play
wvwand well that's it really, some dungeons and fractals if ever, but most of my time is spent at the former. Is wub still alive?
Oh that's what you were talking about.
I'm assuming it's Blizzard being lazy because they werent always like this. I played till the end of WotLK and stopped and I was never really tired of the game.
Maybe. There's no harm in patching up to look.
WvW has a new zone (if you've been gone more than a year, you wouldn't have seen it) and it changed the game quite a bit.
Edge of the Mists is the new map and it was supposed to be a lobby zone for people to have small scale fights and roam while waiting in WvW queues for the main maps.
Instead, it became one of the major farming locations for the game with people zerging in a circle for loot, WvW exp, karma etc.
The effect of that is that those people just there for farming are mostly contained in Edge of the Mists and people who actually want to play WvW are left in the WvW maps.
Why aren't you participating in the Wayfarer's Reverie, Anon?
>participating in more anet jewshit
Actually it had pretty good UI, especially compared to its contemporaries who shit the screen with skills. Unfortunately anon is autistic so he needs all his windows opened at once.
I honestly think the devs were in the right here anyway. I know you 'have the right' to stand where you want but it is their game and they also have the right to remove you for any reason. If you want to stand in the way of a GM of all people taking a group photo just to be a cheeky cunt, you shouldn't be that buttblasted when you get moved.
Gold Boss Blitz would give you at least 5 levels/hour or more if you were cashing in tokens for tomes and leeching from all six events.
I leveled my remaining characters to 80 leeching from TTS. They weren't happy.
So excited that I need to put this on.
>Revive orbs have the huge condition of being massively time consuming and if you're in any situation of strife, you get one-hit because there's that "revival sickness" period.
i'm not sure that's true anymore. i used one a few days ago. when i got up i seemed to be invisible to the mobs, and instead of being at 1 health, my health was capped at like 10% but fully restored to the 10%. when the debuff wore off, health was instantly converted to 100%, and that's also when the mob aggroed me. the revive itself also seemed to be a lot speedier than i remember from before, it was like a normal ooc revive. (the pulses are slow but makes bigger progress)
i hadn't used an orb since like 2012 because i remember how shitty they were, but now they seem like they're pretty useful.
Wouldn't stealth breaking at the start of an animation mean there is no stealth attacks? I mean, I agree with revealed being longer in fact I say 10s. I don't mind too much that a thief can stealth and backstab someone I just think the frequency of RESTEALTHING is far too high. In other MMO's they can sneak up and backstab you or cheap shot or trip or whatever the game has but there are attacks that are used as stealth openers and that's fine, but in those MMO's they either can't restealth in combat or they blow a 3-10 minute cooldown to restealth.in combat, and restealthing in those games is considered a reset of the fight, it drops combat for you and them, health regens to full really quickly, etc.
Here, they can restealth every 3s as long as they have skills to do it with, and it keeps you in combat, and they get advantages of dropping conditions and health regen while stealthed, so it's advantageous for them to constantly restealth while they can repeatedly backstab.
For revealed to be anything less than 10s is too advantageous for the thief and reduces chances at counterplay.
>"We’ve changed the way many of the underlying systems work, making them more cost-effective, which will reduce how often players will be seeing issues caused by performance"
Shit's going to be broken for the next 8 months.
>If everyone leaves an instance, it will close, but you don’t have to worry about one person leaving your party and having to restart your dungeon! Our goal here is to make instances more user-friendly, as the hidden owner concept was often hard to understand and resulted in people losing progress randomly when someone left.
Be prepared for pugs kicking you out of your dungeon and simply taking the dungeon for themselves. At least when there was a dungeon owner, there was no incentive for late coming pugs to kick out the dungeon leader if they actually wanted the reward.
Anet completely detached and not knowing what they're doing, yet again.
It hast he use of attracting enemy attention leading to a swift commander assassination and rupturing the blob.
As for the teammates, it shouldn't matter since there's a big marker over both the character model and your position on the map, so it doesn't matter how big or small you are and even a norn will drown in the blob when it concentrates, making people rely on the marker more.
Yes, because I think it's important to have a guild in a MMO, such as this one, and not to rely on randoms that might (and usually will) turn out to be terrible.
In fact, it works for me in more ways than one, as it allows anyone to open and swap as they please, when before it was sometimes an issue since many are using our dungeon runs to level up their alts. There's the tactical and practical aspect to it too, when someone needs to go or wants to try a different class after the party composition changed and they happen to be the "hidden leader". The old system was retarded and this one is an improvement in every way for me.
You'd be hard pressed to make a change in content that's been live for over 2 years and make everyone happy with it. Hell, I bet some people in my guild will be unhappy with it, because they were making some major dosh by selling dungeon runs.
The difference between WoW and GW2 updates is that the people who play WoW can look forward to content comming very soon, expansion.
So even if Blizzard isn't adding anything for a year, everyone knows what they work on and what will come.
You don't know if anet works on an expansion, if anet works on any meaningful content. All we know is living story. And the hope that it might get better.
If this really happened, I love the dev for it. "B-BUT MUH FREEDOMS! GUANTANAMO BAY! GET TUH STAND WHERE UH WANT!"
Kicking attention whoring special snowflakes out of the game 10 / 10
THIS JUST IN THERE WILL BE SOME MASSIVE CHANGES TO CRAFTING INCOMING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>it's just 2 craftable backpieces.
yes im making fun of how awful anet is they can't even blog post properly
You are still expected to play and stay subbed so that you are geared up and ready for the stuff that is coming. That means that you are paying those $12 (or whatever) for a year for the privilege to put down another $50 for the box when it comes and not only will it not have all the promised stuff inside, since some of it got canned and the rest will be (traditionally) released over time, forcing you to sub for some more months, but you still won't be able to enjoy the entirety of the content as some of it is now cash shop only (vanity stuff of course, excluding the new level boosts for a hefty price and all the old paid services like transfers, but still, in a game with a sub and a new box to buy each 2 years).
Are there any good meduim armour chest peices that are cut at the waist or above from the back?
The gem shop one seems ok but it's a little over used and with the price of gems what they are it seems a little much just for the chest piece.
